Aelita sat on a peak atop Dragoon Mountian, her eyes closed...sensing. For the last few days she had been sensing something...odd. It was like a presence..a force...a person, but not a person. It plauged her...she was always feeling this feeling in her sleep. She couldn't get away from it. It was always the same kind of vision: the silouette of a person...along with that feeling. That feeling that she was nothing more than...a puppet. A Mythical Construct...fictional...nothing at all except a thought and mabye some words on paper. It troubled Aelita deeply. Medivh walked up the trail towards Aelita. he too had been feeling this strage feeling. That ominious feeling of being maipulted. But, unlike Aelita, the feeling drove Medivh almost to insanity...he hated it. Hated it with a passion beyond anything ever he had known in his life. he hated even the possibility of not having control over his own actions and his life. Medivh stopped when he saw Aelita. "Medivh Belmont.." Aelita said, not even bothering to look. "the cursed businessman." "Aelita Kun.." Medivh smiled, watching her. "Jedi with...personal issues." "If I recall the two of us have never met before." Aelita said. "You would recall correctly." "but somehow we know eachother." "perhaps-" "it is because-" "Of that feeling..." They said in unison, looking at eachother. while Medivh spoke in anger, Aelita spoke in curiousness. "yes," she said. "that feeling...as though we are puppets and something else is pulling the strings...I know some religious factions believe in one all-powerful god...but somehow I don't think that that is who we are feeling." "IF that is what we are feeling at all." Medivh spat. "mabye we just both have a virus of some sort." "No.." Aelita said. "It's some sort of...personal God...a sort of fate-master. Someone who decides our actions and many of the things we do and how we do them." "If it's a personal god..then why do we seem to share one?" Medivh said. "why indeed...." Aelita said, she then lapsed into silent thought. Medivh did the same.... |

Darren strolled by witnessing the whole thing. And he decided that it was best to leave the two alone, or maybe he didn't decide it -- his "personal fate-master" did. But did that really matter, because it was probably waht he would have chosen anyway. He walked away confused over the nature of fate, chance, and free will, deciding that the best solution was to head to the lunch room. There he could enjoy a sandwich and escape from the philosophical debate the two had caused. |

Aelita sensed the boy pass...she thought breifly of calling out to him...but decided against it. There was no need, he would not understand...even in this place, very few would understand what she and Medivh felt...Medivh payed no attention, he was so lost in his thoughts that the passing of one person did not bother him. Aelita turned around and looked at Medivh in an appraising sort of manner... "You would do quite well..." she said. "Quite well as a what?" Medivh snapped. Aelita simply smiled. "Quite well as a Dark Force User...you have the disposition already." Medivh looked at Aelita with a mixture of shock and disbeleif on his face. From what he had learned, Dark force users were cruel, heartless mockeries of men....they were animals...they had no compassion, no mercy....they were hardly human. Aelita seemed to interpret the look on Medivh's face. "Dark Force users are not what your media makes them out to be." she said. "true, they do feed off of hatred, and anger, and negitive emotions. But many still have a great deal of humanity in them. the Force is neither good nor bad. How an adept uses his or her powers is what counts." |
