The absence of pain, while relieving in itself, felt very odd. As was her habit now-a-days, Autumn curled up on the cave floor, folding her ears down on her head so she could block out all noise. The time since she’d moved into this cave had been spent in a mixture of pain, mentally and emotionally; as well as developing a friendship with a person who, she at some level loved and another level despised.

It was frustrating and irritating to have her feelings accepted one moment and flung back in her face the next. She never knew what to expect from the cold Winter except that he fit his name perfectly. Gritting her fangs together, Autumn dug her claws into the hard soil to vent a little of her frustration. If there were shields in her mind then she would go tell Winter exactly what she thought of his bi-polar relationship with her. Since there weren’t however, starting such an argument wasn’t very healthy for her.

She felt him before he even finished materializing, the emotions that radiated from him easily slamming into her mind. Autumn reacted in two ways to his emotional onslaught, one: a blinding headache bloomed in her temples, and two: worry about what was so wrong crept into her mind. The fact that he wasn’t safe guarding his mind from her so he wouldn’t accidentally cause her pain told her more then his words that they needed to get out of there.

"Get up, get up! and get out, now, if you value your life! The powermen my alter feared have returned...the intent now, to leave no stone atop of stone, here...!"

Pain ricocheted through Autumn’s head and she stared blearily up at Winter, unable to keep herself from wincing slightly. It seemed that the matter was too urgent to take the extra time Winter would need to soften his feelings and thoughts.

"You must make do, with what barrier you have… you must be strong! Now, GO!"

Autumn knew of the back exit, a way through the mountain that would allow her to escape and so she knew where she needed to head. The only problem was, half of her wanted to make sure that Winter would be safe as well. Before she could ask him what he would do however, he made the decision for both of them, dematerializing right before her eyes.

Quietly, Autumn got to her feet and made her way towards the secret exit. It was well hidden and it took her several minutes to find. Once located, she glanced back around at the cave that had been her home before slipping into the small opening and began to run or crawl, depending on where she was, through the tunnel and towards safety.

'Curse me and my silly emotions but I do hope that Winter is alright!'
