Where Fliers go for Picnics; (Tara)

Spring was in the air again, and it would be so for ever and ever, as long as the earth would be around, spring will come again to melt the chill of winter's ever so bitter wind. Then the flower's would bud, and cat's would take the thier flying girlfriend's to pieces of land that float above the gym. Well perhaps that wasn't an everyday occurance, but it was happening now.

Thomas, AHS' resident cat/raven crossbreed, was rightly enjoying himself. The phrase 'on top of the world' was just too melow. Tara, his girlfriend, had agreed to meet him up here for a lovely little date. Oh how glad he was to know that she could make the flight. Still he was a little worried for her. The gravity field was strong, and it made flying hard, but it was still possible.

There was a huge surprise awaiting her. Well it wasn't a surprise, for he had told her it was a pic-nic. It was just that the meal was extraordinary well prepared, and had no cat hairs in it. Catoring was such a nice thing.

So Thomas awaited in a clearing for his one true love. The only one who reconized him beyond the fur, for even Greg could not do that. The only one who could see him as a human. He stood in the shade, visible and searching the skies for her. His posture was perfectly erect and cat-like.

As happy as can be, Tara stood on the roof of the gym, looking up at the floating isle, she had never rtied going up there, but she was sure that she could make it. She had to for Thomas! She took a few steps back and gave herself a running start before lifting off into the air, looking for the best current to lift her to the floating isle. She had finally reached it, but struggled to get through the feild, pushing her way through.

Finally, she made it in, and wasn't she glad that she had done all that training. She probably would've been dead and/or still falling right now. She flew above the ground and looked for the clearing. When she finally spotted her beloved black winged cat, she dove down, "Thomas!" Then she spotted the picnic and grin widened, it was beautiful!!! She landed, took a few steps, then kneeled down to Thomas and hugged him, "Oh, Thomas! This is wonderful!"

This whole thing was stupid. She could kill herself, and Thomas knew that it would be all his fault. He should have never have asked her to, and should have realized that these things shouldn't happen. She was his pride, joy, love, and dove. How dare he take away her chance of life, for a picnic. A very insignifigant pic-nick. She had hurt herself once with him, and knew the dangers of flying too long.

Perhaps if he hurried, he could find her and say that she did not need to come. That this endevour was too risky, and well ... well everything. No this was just to much.

Than he heard her voice. The voice of angels on water, for she looked like an angel. Now Thomas had seen angels before, but she was just so much more. She was just so much more real.

His head turned and his ears picked up. He awaited for her embrace though he was embarresed by the compliment. It was nothing much really, and well he shrugged his shoulders awkwardly.

"Not as wonderful to see you." alive. the last part was silent, and he was so thankful to see her face again. He just wanted this moment to last forever, and so he purred.

Tara smiled, blushing slightly, "Oh Thomas, you don't know how much this all means to me." She held him in her lap and pet him softly, running her fingers down his wings, "For the past few days, I've been training to get stronger so you wouldn't have to worry about me all the time." She said proudly, "I don't want to put you through something like last time again, it was scary for me too."

She looked up into the sky thoughtfully, "Oh yes!" She reached into the pocket of her jacket and brought out a blue ribbon, "This was my a gift from my grandfather! He said that my grandmother gave it to him before they got married, it was like an unbreakable tie between them." She smiled lovingly as she wrapped it around his neck loosely and tied it in a bow. Amazingly, it looked very masculine in a way, "There! It's looks so cute on you!"

"Oh Thomas, you don't know how much this all means to me."

"Oh?" It had kind of caught him by surprise. Not that the stroking of his back was unpleasent, but what exactly did she mean? Was it the picnick or was there something else that was just a little bit deeper? It honestly didn't matter too much to him, but since it mattered to her, than he cared. Her happiness made him happier as if it were an affection between the two that they both shared and was happily contagious.

"For the past few days, I've been training to get stronger so you wouldn't have to worry about me all the time." ... "I don't want to put you through something like last time again, it was scary for me too."

If cats could smile than Thomas would have beamed, but he couldn't. What could he say, for she was happy and all that much safer, but he could never ever push her again. Unless they were in danger, and there was no other choice between the hammer and the anvil.

"Don't worry I will always protect you." And it was the truth, "But I am glad." How could he lie about that. Her being safe was a great thing to him, and it would always be a great thing. His saphire eyes told no lie to her, how could he tell a lie to the one who treated him as if he were no different than anybody else, but still loved that he was different. What more could he say.

"Oh yes!"

"Oh?" Curiosity took over him as the old saying went.

"This was my a gift from my grandfather! He said that my grandmother gave it to him before they got married, it was like an unbreakable tie between them."

He was speachless, and in a good way. It wasn't the bow itself that he liked, but the fact that she had gotten it for him. That was what had meant more to him than anything else, and that was what he loved about her.

He honestly did not care how it looked, and so he just looked into her eyes and said four words with all of the sincerity of his heart.

"There! It's looks so cute on you!"

"Thanks, I love it."

"Thanks, I love it."

Tara smiled sweetly and clapped her hands, "That's great!" She looked back at the picnic and heard her stomach growl, "Oh my, all this is making me so hungry!" She quickly kissed Thomas's head and set him down so he could eat without worrying about her dropping anything on him, "Shall we begin?" She asked, folding her wings in a more comfortable way, they were still a bit sore from all the working out she'd been doing. Tara had decided a while ago that she wouldn't tell Thomas how many times she had passed out, or else it would worry him again.

"You're amazing, Thomas... I would never have guessed that I'd fall in love with a cat." She said sweetly, "But, I'm very glad that I did, I couldn't be happier!" She ran her fingers up and down his neck, "When I first met you, I could already tell we'd be close friends... but I would never have predicted this."

((ooc: Sorry... I had tests and then writer's block.))

"That's great!"

He looked happily at her. If it made her happy, so be it. It would make him happy. Such was the power of love, or at least what he guessed was love. Honestly he had nothing to base these emotions against. They were so alien to him sometimes, like they were never truly destined for cats.

The kiss made him silent for a while. This had caught him off guard, and when Thomas was off guard you knew something was up. Still it was a good thing, and he enjoyed it really. Now they would be able to eat, and he heard her stomach. She was starving, well that was a bit of a hyperbole, but the point was still there.

"Shall we begin?"

"Yes Let's." She never needed his permission, nor did he need hers. He wanted them to remain separate, to have interests other than just themselves and what the other partner was interested in. Not to say that he would not try some of her interests, though she honestly could not do most of his interests, for they were typically kitty related things. No matter, this would be great, and he would enjoy himself.

"You're amazing, Thomas... I would never have guessed that I'd fall in love with a cat." ... "But, I'm very glad that I did, I couldn't be happier!"

That first part had caught him off guard again. Sometimes he just forgot how different their forms were from each other, and just well let his heart rule his senses. No matter. He knew, or at least he thought he knew, that she loved him because he was Thomas, and not 'AHS' Resident Flying Kitty.' The latter was a title given to him from someone last summer.

"I never knew I would fall in love with a human." That was also true, but still he didn't mind. "I could never be happier." Right now he wished he could smile, because sometimes it was hard to express feelings of joy without purring being a cat. Oh what a tragic love story this was, but that was besides the point. They were in love, and that was all that truly mattered.

"When I first met you, I could already tell we'd be close friends... but I would never have predicted this."

That day. The day when they had met as friend's and as fellow flyers going to the sushi bar, and had left as something more, and somewhere between meeting his ogre for a brother, and when Tara had to stop for her own sake, and Thomas had over-pushed her. That day would be one of his favorites forever.

"Who could have guessed?” He paused, “I don't think I could have." His voice was cheerful and full of hope. This was a gorgeous day, and he was not talking of the weather.

(((ooc sorry about not posting, but the end of school is finally here, and I'm finally getting some time off. I also found out that one of my best friends lives very close to me, so I've been visiting her often ooc)))

Tara looked at the food and clapped her hands together in a quick prayer, "This looks so wonderful, Thomas..." She smiled at him and then looked back at the food. She began to remember her home, and her huge backyard where her parents would take her for picnics like this, out near the maze of bushes that held a water found in the middle. After was ate with her parents, she's go and try to find her way through the maze, and when she'd get lost, she just fly up slightly to see where she was.

"Oh..." She whispered quickly, almost in suprise. She put a hand over her mouth and bit back the tears. Mood swings were never fun, especially when they got in the way of such a happy time. A single tear left her eyes, but she dried it, "Thomas... thank you so much. I haven't realized how home sick I was until now, but because of this picnic, I don't feel as home sick." She picked up an apple and bit into it, savoring the sweet taste that she so clearly remembered. She held the apple in her lap and looked at Thomas.

"There's a question that's been nagging at me for a while... do you have any other forms? I mean, I've seen so many people with multipule forms." She straightened her shirt and shifted her sitting position to be more comfortable.

((ooc: lol. I have been taking an AHS vacation, and then I find you have replied so here I am back and all.))

It did not take much to make him beam. Though it was still rather difficult, because cats don't really smile, which when communicating with humans was an essential. Though he never knew her to be a religious person; he also bowed his head in honor of her. Thomas had no idea what he believed in. All he ever thought about was where he was and what he needed to do to survive, and live and never about what was after living. Although he has a human soul, was he human enough to go to Paradise, Heaven, or even, if he was destined to, Hell?

All thee thoughts spurred around him, but then she came back and got him out of his own thoughts too.

"Thomas... thank you so much. I haven't realized how home sick I was until now, but because of this picnic, I don't feel as home sick."

"Good." It was hard to respond to that considering Thomas had no home other than AHS now. His life had past, and so a feeling of homesickness was hard to pick up on.

"I guess it is hard to be away from your family." Another luxuory Thomas had was having family right here. "You could always visit them though, I hope."

And he also bit into some food. Being carnevourous made his choices limited, so he had to stick mostly to meat. Meat such as the chicken, though for the sake of his guest it was cooked and cut up already.

"There's a question that's been nagging at me for a while... do you have any other forms? I mean, I've seen so many people with multipule forms."

"Umm yeah. I can become a black saber toothed tiger with wings. Would you like to see after dinner?"

"I guess it is hard to be away from your family. You could always visit them though, I hope."

Tara looked down in a thoughtful manner, "Well, it's not hard persay, but I miss them. And visiting them is no question. My father is very wealthy so he has his own private jet, he actually sent one once to help some of my friends on a mission- oh, I'm sorry, I got off topic!"

"Umm yeah. I can become a black saber toothed tiger with wings. Would you like to see after dinner?"

She clapped her hands and grinned, "I'd love to see, Thomas! I've seen saber-toothed tigers in my study books and in magazines, but I've never seen one up close, much less with wings!" She finished the apple, full of excitment. Everything was working out so well.

"Thomas? It feels so odd to say, but it feels so odd not to say it... but... I love you, I love you so much." She said, blushing like mad. This wasn't something that she could say easily, nor could she hold it back any longer.

Thomas smiled. He was also wealthy, but only in the million dollar range and not the billionaire. Not in the range where he could afford a private jet, and while he was curious about the mission thing he decided that she was not to keen to talk about it right now.

He literally beamed when she wanted to see his tiger form. It was quite an impressive feat no doubt the transformation of small kitty to big kitty and yet it wasn’t an incredibly bid deal either. Twitching his tail, he purred. If he weren’t so modest he would have bowed. He was like that, proud and cocky in such a way that it can only be described as catty.

“Sure thing.”

“Thomas?”

“Yes?”

“It feels so odd to say, but it feels so odd not to say it … but … I love you, I love you so much.”

Well for the first time in his life he was speechless. Yes they were dating, and yes he loved her but to have mutual feelings. It was all way too much, because there was so much stupid stuff in the way. Like the fact that he wasn’t even humanoid, but he could be humanoid. A winged being like herself with raven wings.

“I love you too.” It came out, and it was true but he was sad. It showed in his eyes, a mixture of both sadness and happiness. Sadness because he had to continue his race, but happiness to have love even for a moment.

Tara glanced down at Thomas, amazingly embarrassed at herself, but then he said it.

“I love you too.”

She looked down at him and saw the sadness and the happiness in his eyes. She carefully picked him up and hugged him close, "Thank you, Thomas, thank you so much." She tried to hold back the tears, but her efforts were in vain. Tears slid down her cheeks slowly, "I can't stop thinking of your human form, Thomas... and... and I promise to do everything in my power to make it so we can be together in the most complete way possible." She rubbed his head and kissed his nose.

How things could be this bittersweet, Thomas never knew. She wanted to love him as more than a cat, and he couldn’t provide that. All he could do is become a bigger kitty, and while it was true that he was told he could transform into a human. A winged human boy with raven-black hair and feathers more exactly, but how possible was the question. As possible as a cat with wings, and that was unlikely to begin with.

“Thank you, Tara,” he pushed his head to face her while he was embraced so, “I will do everything in my power to find a way to be with you. In a way which we can be … complete.”

A single tear fell from his cheek, but it never occurred to Thomas that cats did not cry.

Tara sniffed and rubbed her tears away, "Oh my, this was supposed to be a happy occasion and we ended up crying." She laughed and set him down, rubbing his head and down his back, "I'm sorry, she smiled.

"We should do something!" She stood up and leaned over for him to get on her shoulder, "This is a picnic, so what should we do? We could play frizbe or tag, or something like that!" She giggled and laughed, spinning around a bit.

She stood straight and took a deep breath as strong breeze blew by, "Ah... so nice... to be up here with someone I love."

“Yeah your right,” he also laughed cheerfully, “but don’t be sorry.” He was happy now. Whatever would be would be, and although Thomas hated that song it was true. Whatever happened would happen, and there was no way to do anything about it. Thomas, you need to stop being so worried.

“Besides I’m full.”

He backed off and began to search for a Frisbee as she enjoyed the breeze. He was sure he had packed something like that, though he wasn’t too sure what exactly he had brought. Thomas was a little bit more concerned with getting the food, because he was kind of new to human food; he grew up eating kibbles and sparrows not hotdogs and strawberries.

“Hmm,” he said the Frisbee in his mouth, “Dit ‘s a ‘onderful ‘ing, ‘hank you, ‘ove.” He threw it to the side, though he wasn’t too sure if she actually wanted to play or just talk some more. Either of which were fine.

Tara spotted the frizbee immediately and grinned, "Yes, let's play frizbee! Oh wait, can you play, I mean, without... um... hands?" She blushed, hoping she didn't sound too stupid or rude. She rubbed the back of her head, "Oh dear, that came out wrong didn't it?" She laughed a bit and picked up the frizbee, "Should I serve, or do you want to?" She ran from the picnic so that she would accidently step on something important.

"Hey Thomas, you've always been a cat, right? Do you suppose that the reason you have a human form is because you were once an actual human, but somehow, you forgot? I mean, that is plausible, isn't it?" Tara looked at the frizbee and smiled sweetly, "It doesn't really matter all that much, I wouldn't love you any more or any less either way."

Why is it that wherever the conversation goes the fact that I am a cat is apparent. Sighing depressivily Thomas just nodded, and said, "I'll make do."

With that he remembered that he had to be happy and cheerful again for her sake, though he wasn't pleased it wasn't like she was trying to make him feel bad, but he still felt bad. So he did his best and tried to at least sound not too hurt, "It happens. I know it wasn't intentional. . . You serve ok?"

He flapped about twenty feet away. With the increased gravity the frisbee would not go as far as on earth regardless of Tara's physical ability.

"Hey Thomas, you've always been a cat, right? Do you suppose that the reason you have a human form is because you were once an actual human, but somehow, you forgot? I mean, that is plausible, isn't it?"

"Well I was human once, but not in this life. I don't know the specifics," mostly because he didn't care about that sort of stuff. A cat usually lives in the present after all, "but I was human once upon a time. That's why my brothers are human while I am a cat."

Shrugging he sat down, and flicked his paw over his ears to get out a piece of grass that was bother him. In reality he was a little embarresed to talk about it, because there was some info that he was withholding, but he didn't think that mattered, but thought that others would be bothered by it all. The fact that this person was offered the position of being a god for example.
