The sounds of birds chirping echoed in the sky. Instead of it being the sound of something relaxing, or peaceful, or even annoying, it was eerie. The sounds of the bird added to the dark feeling of the late afternoon. The sun was on near the horizon. It’s light was blazing fiercely. If one looked up to the ski, it would seem as the sky had been lit on fire; a blazing fire that seemed like it would never die out. However, that was nothing more then an illusion. With in a matter of moments, that strong, bright light will die out. It will be snuffed out as it gives way to the dark shade of the night sky.

It was this time of transition that Damara felt more in tune to. Unlike the day or the night, this was a time that existed for one a few moment a day. It was something that could easily be taken for granted as people go on with their lives. All they see is the night and the day, never do they stop to give recognition to the time in between, even if that time is short. The burning orange light filtered through the leaves of the tree tops. The forest was a theater of shadows and bright hues of orange and red. Designs formed by the shadows of the leaves decorated the forest floor. Among this decorations of shadow a light, a figure moved.

Damara was alone. Her black hair was tied up in to one loose pony tail that trailed down her back. She dressed in a plain black skirt with a dark, rich blue button up top. A silver encircled her hips and hung from the left side of her waist. Even with the birds singing their songs, all she could hear was the sound of her foot steps breaking the twigs that littered the ground. What began as her just going out to enjoy a walk, turned in to something else. She was deep in thought, locked away with in the confines of her own mind. She walked aimlessly, not really caring about her destination.

The sound of one specific bird caught her attention, and ripped her away from the nothingness that held her captive. Her blue eyes looked up at a branch on the tree to her right. Sitting there among the branches was a black crow. For some reason, she felt the need to stand there and look at that creature.

Dario had the oddest tendancy to forget how he met up with women. Not the reason he was there, he remembered that, but forget how he got there. This had happened twice before now, and each time involved him meeting a women in some kind of a spot of which he had no memory of how he got to. How stupid he was to forget, he told himself. He could remember distintly why he was here, just not the steps he took to get here. He could remember he wanted to take a walk, he could remember he wanted to take his mind off a badly tasting donut he ate by taking this walk, but he could not remember for the life of him how this walk ended up taking him tot he forest. However hard he tried to bring up a mental map of the area inside of his head, he could not draw the path of his journey on it. Coincidently, whenever this loss of memory happened to him, it was with women that were important to him, one way or another.

And so, Dario found himself staring straight at Damara, or atleast her backside. He had to stare in disbelief at first, as it was hard to believe girl who was basically a ghost now to him. Yes, she looked just like a ghost. Standing there on the branch and looking downwards emotionally, her long hair lightly swaying int he wind. As he stared at her, he could remember no feelings of the hatred he felt for her in the hospital, he could remember no feelings of her at all, in fact. He stared at her like he would stare at a painting, like he did so many days ago in the park. And as he stared at her, maybe it was just the tranquility of the mood, or the modest scenery, he saw something he had not remembered her for in a long time: beauty. He saw her has beautiful for those few seconds, he saw her the same way as he did in the park.

He could feel a smile begin to curl so slowly on his lips, yet he could not help but fight it back. He could not help but remember what happened in the hospital, how she tried to manipulate him, how almost killed that poor girl. And as these thoughts came, his expression became neutral again. He knew it was weak of him, he knew it was probably stupid, but Dario felt like he could give her a second chance. Perhaps he was too nostalgic, or too optimistic, but he really felt like she could still be a good person at that moment. However, as he snapped back from his own little mental world, he had to remember, she could still be...well...violently insane. If he was going to approach her, he had to do it with all he had learned from that encounter.

Dario thought about just walking away, just forgetting he ever saw her, but he couldn't. He couldn't help but think of the phrase "Old Habits Die Hard", except in this case, the word "habits" would be raplced with the word "relationships". And then he decided, he wanted to greet her. While he would be friendly about it, as she did no permanent damage to his knowledge, he knew that he had to approach her with what he did know. She did not exactly fit his fantasy expectations of her, he realized that in the hospital, but he could not help but greet her. His hospital encounter with her had strengthened him mentally, it really did, and thanks to it he always gave a situation a second thought. And, as he would greet her, he knew that this time he would be realistic about it. If she ever tried to hurt anyone again, he knew he would do something about it. He just knew it, and he was confident that he could atleast talk to her on the level of a human being, but not be foolish and idiotic like he was at the hospital.

"Hey...how you doing?" he asked her from her backside, in a very dry, yet non threatening voice. The tone of his voice had no anger or hostility in it, but it also had no friendliness in it. It was a pretty emotioless tone of voice, to be blunt.

The crow had called out to the on coming night before spreading its wings and fleeing. She heard its wings beating in the air as it headed toward whatever unknown destination it had in mind. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound until it died off. Oh how she wanted to be that bird. She wanted to beat her wings and go to whatever destination fancied her at the moment. Let her be the symbol of whatever misfortunes may befall the people of this earth, it mattered not to her. It was this concentration on the sounds of the fleeing bird that distracted her from hearing the on coming footsteps of Dario. When she could hear the sounds of the bird now more, there were no more foot steps to be heard. Slowly, she opened her blue eyes. The place where the beautiful black bird once sat was now barren and empty. Even if the bird had a negative symbolism to it, it was so much better to have it there perched on that tree. It was better then the nothingness that was left behind. A beautiful, yet vast emptiness.

Her gaze dropped from the branch, and on the ground , underneath where the bird once was, she saw a shiny black feather. Her gaze softened as she looked at its stiff silkiness. Damara approached the feather, kneeled down and lifted it in between her two fingers. Still kneeled, she twirled it, watching as the dieing light tried to reflect off of its black surface. Finally, she let the feather come to a stop, and she let her eyes lock on to it After a few seconds, she closed her eyes and let out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding.

As she stood up, she placed the feather behind her right ear. To anyone else, it was probably nothing more then junk, nothing but garbage that wasn’t worth picking up off the ground. Even so, she liked it, and she would keep it.

The light that was once vibrantly filtering through the trees, was now fading away. If she could have grabbed hold of those dieing rays of burning light, she would have. She would have grasped on, and kept it stored away just for her. No one knew that dieing light as well as she did. No one could understand the meaning to it like she did.

"Hey...how you doing?"

There was an interruption in her thought pattern as a familiar voice filed the silent air. Her thoughts had been so loud in her mind, that it was amazing Dario’s words had gotten through to her. He didn’t sound angry. In fact, he was playing off a very good emotionless tone; However, she could feel something bubbling underneath the surface. What exactly, she wasn’t sure yet. She turned to look at him, the feather still stuck behind her ear.

“Dario." She said as if saying his name would confirm that he was actually there. Other then that, she managed to match the same tone he had used on her. What was he thinking? Why was he being so descent with this conversation. After his reaction at the hospital, she wouldn’t have expected this. He had seemed to emotional, to sensitive.

“Is there really away for me to answer that question. Shall I say I am fine, or would that be a lie. Or shall I say that I am miserable, but then that might be a lie too.” It had come out sounding like a riddle, but that had not been her intentions. She truly and honestly had no way of truthfully answering that question.

He expected her to answer like that. Well, he did not expect her to say the exact words she did, but he had a feeling her answer would be blank and cryptic. That usually was the way ladies talked to him, let alone ones that were beautiful, mysterious, and on the edge of sanity. Her question had to make him think, though: what the fuck was he doing here? Why the hell did he not just walk away, and try to wipe the memory of this even from his mind, like he tried to do witht he hospital so many days ago. Maybe his mind was just masking the fact he wanted to get laid. No, Dario was convinced he was not doing this becuase of lust, he was flat out convinced. He wanted to answer Damara with a simple response, such as 'Say what you want, whether I believe it is my business', but he couldn't. Firstly, that kind of answer appeared in movies all the time, he hated being cliched. Secondly, the answer was bullshit, he cared what she thought, he really did. He wasn't going to lie and say her answer did not matter, if it didn't, why would he ask the goddamn question in the first place?

"Cryptic as always..." Dario muttered in a low tone, pocketing his hands and speaking at a volume just high enough for her to hear if she was listening closely. He looked back at her, studying her form and mood intently. She looked like a sculpture, he really could not grasp what she was thinking at the moment, despite how much it interested him. Damara was unpredictable, he knew that now more than ever. "Well, then..." he said, trying to think of a less vague question. "D'ya mind telling me atleast what your reaction to me is? I mean, do you feel like leaping on me and clawing my eyes out, or having a decent conversation?" he asked, his tone sounding relatively calm, yet curious.

He was struggling with answer. It wasn’t that he was confused, but she could tell that he wasn’t sure how to verbalize it. Was it because he was speaking to her. Was it her presence that did that to him? Her gaze remained steadied on him as he pocketed hi hands. She listened to the low murmur of words that he vocalized. Had she always been cryptic? Really? She had thought she was pretty straight to the point before… before everything happened. Now that she looked at him she wondered how there relationship would have been, if fate had been different. That day they met in the park. It was a day when Rhiea was still alive. It was also the same day that she and Faits friendship had become quite awkward. What if it wasn’t Fait that she had met first? What if it was Dario that come to her dorm that day.

She shook her head. It was pointless to think of things that could have been, but never would be. Things were already set in stone, or close to being so. She couldn’t change that now. She couldn’t change the transformation that had already started with in her. For some reason, that bothered her. She looked up at Dario, not sure if that showed in her eyes. “Yes… cryptic. I guess it is apart of me now. I can’t help it. “ She spoke low and let her gaze fall from the boy standing before her.

“My reaction to you being here is surprise, Dario. I thought you hated me. I didn’t think you would be able to stand the sight of me. “ She walked up to him, but did not get to close. She didn’t want to cross the bounds of comfort. “I do not hate you Dario. I just wanted you to understand that I was, am, not the type of person you thought I was. However, now you know don’t you. When you look at me, you see it? “ She kept her gaze away from him. She was looking off to the side. As she rose her hand to the side of her head, she felt the black feather tucked behind her ear. As she glided her fingers along it soft surface, she looked at Dario. “If you wish for a conversation, there is nothing wrong with that.”

(Finally, after two weeks of being busy/lazy/whatever the fuck excuse I can come up with, I can make a reply. Again, so so sorry for the lateness)

Dario blinked at Damara, his gaze at her not harsh or assuming, but rather a listening one. One that gave off the impression that Dario was listening to what she had to say and taking it into serious consideration. He did this rather subconciously, rather than willlingly, because no matter what Damara's morals or thoughts were, he found her terribly interesting. However, if Dario was aware of the amount of attention he was giving Damara, he would probably not change it. She deserved to be treated with enough dignity so that whenever she said something she would atleast be listened to. Hell, being ignored was one of the worst fates a person could have, one that should have been reserved for the most evil of human beings.

But who was to say that Damara was not evil? She did shoot an innocent girl, maybe not with the actual intent to kill, but she did so without paying attention to where she was aiming. Had the bullet hit the poor girl maybe even off slightly to the side, she could have been dead as a doornail. Damara should feel lucky, Dario thought, she got away with what could have been described as attempted murder, whether that was her intention or not. However, as Dario looked at Damara, as he observed her words and her mood, he could tell she was more in control of her emotions than at the hospital. She even looked a tad remorseful, not as far enough to say that she regretted what she did, but certainly that she was not proud of it.

"...Sort of..." Dario muttered in response to Damara's earlier question, as to whether he understood what kind of human she was. "I certainly realize my assumptions about you were wrong, but if you intended to show me that you were evil, some kind of manipulative and uncaring bitch, you failed" he said, speaking in a flat and truthful tone. "I don't see you as evil. Even now, I see that you are not exactly proud of what you have done. If you intended to show me that you did not fit my fantasy image, than you succeeded. It was selfish of me to try and change you like that" he said, speaking exactly what he thought, not censoring the words in any way. Through all this, though, there was still the case if the young girl she almost killed. He could not rest without even askign her a question about why she shot her. "However..." he began, lifting his finger up, his tone becoming a quizzical one, "...was it really nessecary to shoot that girl? She had nothing to do with any of this. She was trying to help you, for god's sake." he finished, wanting to know her answer.

Dario paused once again, gazing at Damara yet another time. Lord, she was beautiful, in both her looks and her mood. Had she not had a gaping wound in her stomach, and had they been in a normal, and casual situation, her attempted seduction of him would of worked without a doubt. However, as he looked at her, he could also feel the slightest bit of respect for her. Sure, he hated what she did at the hospital, but she seemed to have put it behind her, and she seemed to be taking it well enough to not have broken down in a fit of anger and madness. He respected her too much to let that thought that had passed through his head go unmentioned to her.

"One more thing..." Dario said, lifting up his finger as he spoke again. "I want you to know, that through all this, for some reason that's hard for me to put my finger on, I have respect for you. From what I can piece together, I tell you have had a hard life, one that would make a lesser person crumble to tears and insanity, atleast not a larger extent than you may have. And that deserves atleast SOME recognition." he said, trying to give credit when credit was due. "And finally..." he began again, having to get one thing off his chest, "I think you should know I find you...extremely beautiful" he said, believing she had the right to know. "Had we been in a more casual situation, without the wound in your stomach, your attempt at seduction would have certainly worked. Does this change the fact I hate what you did at the hospital? No, not one bit, but you atleast have the right to know. And if you would like to have a normal conversation, one like we had int he park months ago, I would not mind that at all. Infact, I would probably like it." he finished, gulping a bit as his statement came to a close.

((My month is worse then your two weeks. ^^ Glad you wanted to continue))

She noticed that his attention was on her. Not once did he turn away or show that he was not interested when she spoke. She had people act like they were paying attention to her in the past, but she never felt that they were actually seeing and hearing her. Her father, the therapists, the doctors, they looked at her and pretended to hear her. However, to them, she was nothing more then another patient, another crazy girl that needed to be dealt with. She didn’t get that feeling from Dario, and she appreciated it. She may never understand it, but she also didn’t understand why she seemed to captivate him so. Was she really that interesting?

As she stood and looked at him, she really couldn’t tell what he thought about her. Did he pity her? Did he feel sympathy for her? Maybe, did he still hate her? or, was there something else she was missing? She seemed to always overlook something, and she suddenly realized that she didn’t understand Dario nearly as well as she thought she did. That was to be expected though, wasn’t it? She had never really given the chance to get to know him. She had automatically assumed that he would be just like everyone else. That once they got a true glimpse of how she was, they would try to keep as far from her as possible Maybe that was why Fait was so hesitant with her. But he didn’t even know half as much as Dario did. She had to admit to herself that she had never even given him a chance. From the very beginning, she had been pushing him away.

Finally, he had brought up the events that happened at the hospital. Damara didn’t flinch her gaze away as he brought up the subject. He was there that day, it was in his right to ask. Maybe this whole time, he thought that Damara only shot the girl to make a point. That had been part of the reason, but not all of it. As she opened her mouth to answer his question he lifted his finger. She fell silent before even saying a word. There was more. She tilted her head some to the side, letting the black hair fall about her shoulder and tickle her cheek. His words caught her unexpected. Not many acknowledged , nor commented on what kind of life she had before this. Even though it was as plain as day to see, no one cared to notice it.

She remembered clearly the events the earlier years before AHS. It was like a quick slide show of events playing in her mind. As it played across, she felt her expression go blank. She had lived through it, even though it wasn’t exactly behind her. It seemed things would always come up. It was not her earlier years that drove her to these recent events, it was her sisters death and unwanted reunion with a few other people. As she thought of that, she felt her emotions melt. A mixture of emotion played with in her, but the only visible change in her expression was a softening around her icy blue eyes. She could never forgive those who had tormented her. Even now, she wanted them dead. She had only seen the death of one of them. It was he, she thought, that took the life of Rheia.

She could have swam within her thoughts forever, but something pulled her away. It was Dario’s next comment. She knew many people were drawn to her appearance, but it was rare for her to hear the word beautiful. Damara nodded her head, and finally broke her silence. “Thank you, Dario. I have heard many things, but that was not one of them.” She said as she hardened her gaze a bit. “The seduction was meant to turn you away from me. I am an empath Dario, it was one of my first powers. I could feel the disgust and hate dripping off of you as if it were something touchable. I knew how you would react to me trying to seduce you in such a situation..” She paused for a moment, and remembered his earlier comment. “That may have been done to Prove a point, but the nurse wasn’t fully for you. I have seen the inside of many hospitals and Institutions. I don’t trust any of those people. The doctors, the nurses, the therapist. She had interrupted something, and I turned my anger on her. It is as simple as that. Though it seemed to make the point more then the seduction.” She stopped speaking for a moment, and realized she was sounding less crude and bitchy then normal. Was she doing that on purpose? “Knowing this, if you still wish to have a conversation with me.. Then lets. It would be nice to talk to someone.”

Dario gazed at Damara for what seemed like a good long time, and even though his gaze was stoic and unmoving, it seemed as if he was thinking about something. Dario was taken surprised a touch by Damara's reason for the seduction. Clever, he thought, that girl knew what she was doing. He was kind of embarrassed he did not realize that, infact. He thought he could catch up on mind games fairly quickly. He always knew the reason for her seduction attempt was not because she found him attractive or appealing, but hearing her say it to his face was a bit discouraging. Nothing devastating, it's not like he should have expected her to be attracted to him, but it would of been nice for a member of the opposite sex to show some affection for him.

And as Dario thought of that night more, he realized just how professionally Damara toyed with his head. It's as if she could predict the future, playing off the high emotional stress of the situation and the adverage man's desire to get laid. Shaky morals or not, Damara was a women who knew how to get what she wanted. And with that, Dario gained a huge amount of respect for Damara, definately enough for her empathy powers to pick up. He was beggining to feel like he finally understood her, and with understanding comes respect.

Dario let out a heavy sigh and glanced tot he ground, blinking a few times before giving an answer. Finally, he glanced back up at Damara and gave her a wry smile, highly contrasting to his previous look. "Damara..." he began, pointing a finger at her and sounding as if he was about to tell the punchline to a great joke. "...you...are a genius." he said, giving and outward huff of laughter.

(A touch short, sorry)

Damara met his gaze without looking away. She could not read his mind, but she wished she knew what he was thinking. Since she realized she didn’t know him half as well as she thought, she didn’t try to make any assumptions. Even so, she couldn’t help but think about what he thought of her actions. It was clear he didn’t agree with most of what she did. Then again, there were many people that did not agree with the things she did. Those people would never consider thinking about it, because they would never understand her. However, as she looked at Dario in silence, she wondered if he was capable of understanding what made her who she was. Not only that, but once he did understand- could he really accept her for who she was.

She had toyed with him, and played with him as if he were a doll. If she had been in his situation, she really could not see herself forgiving the other person. But then, Dario was nothing like Damara. Finally, she began to pick up on something.. An emotion.. Something. In some twisted way, did he respect her? People had felt many things towards her, but respect was never one. First he found her beautiful, and now had some level of respect for her. If she wasn’t so used to being a cold hearted person, the surprise would have shown on her face. She blinked it away, and averted her gaze to a near by tree. Until he gave his answer, would they talk… would they not, she would stand here.

When he sighed, she looked back to him. She guessed that maybe he would not want to speak with her further. First she heard her name, and then came his response to her actions. Her reaction to it was a smile. However, unlike other people who smiled warmly.. Or cheerfully… her's held more of something dark or cold to it. Even so, she laughed along with him. She bowed slightly, then stood straight to meet his gaze again. “Why thank you for the compliments.” She pluralized that last part to add in the respect he felt, and the beauty remark. “I guess that means we will chat.” She turned away from him, and began to walk towards a near by tree. She leaned up against it, and looked up in to the sky. The night had taken over the sky. She knew that when she talked to him today, she would not hide anything. She would simply have a straight forward conversation, and answer everything truthfully.

Dario paced along with her to the tree, rubbing his hands together to keep them warm int he chill of the night. As she leaned against the tree and looked up to the sky, he faced and gazed at the back of her head, a light smile still on her face. He was happy they could have a good chat like two friends would, after all, he was quite bored today, and he never minded learning more about Damara. Instead of leaning against the tree along with Damara, he stood there in a stoic manner, pocketing his hands in a further effort to keep them warm. He didn't mind just standing there, really, he had stood so much during the conversation he began to become used to it.

"That's good, really. Sorry we had to start off the conversation in such an odd manner..." he said, finally breaking the silence. It was a bit of an odd way to start a chat, really, breaking into casual conversation after a serious discussion about ethics and emotions. But it was nice, nice they could finally get on the same page and just fucking enjoy life a bit. And as Dario stood there, gazing at the back of her head, he could only remember the time when he first met her in the park. How beautiful she looked against the backdrop of the snow and how calm and controlled she seemed when she spoke up. He could, however, also recall asking her a question. The question was a simple one: what were her hobbies, but she honestly did not have an answer.

"Damara, you remember when we first met in that park?" he asked, breaking the silence again to ask a question. "I asked you what your hobbies were, what you liked to do, and your answer was pretty vague at best, personally speaking. Would you say now that you have a more complete answer?" he continued, in a calm and querying tone.

It was ironic that after everything that happened, after all that hard work to try and push him away, that she was glad he was still there. She couldn’t pin point why. Maybe it was just nice to know he hadn’t just completely given up on her. People were turned away so easily, that it was like a refreshing breath of clean air to be in the presence of someone who wanted to be there. She hadn’t turned her gaze to look at him, not yet. She had asked this very same guy to kill her, and here he was standing there talking to her as if she was normal. Finally, she re-adjusted her body so that she could face him. There was no point in talking to someone if you weren’t facing them. Her shoulder pressed up against the bark of the tree as she leaned her weight on it, and her gaze went straight to his own.

She nodded her head in agreement with his first statement. It may have been odd at first, but it was for the better. It was good that they had cleared the air. If they hadn’t, they would have spent the rest of the time in the school avoiding each other, or hating each other. After he said that, there was silence for a moment. At first, she was blank. She felt like an empty vessel just looking out at him. However, as she stared at him, she began to wonder why he tried so with her? Why was he so different from other people? When she had met Fait, and Seth, she did not put them through what she had put him through. She had not tried to push either away. Now that she thought about, neither of those two knew a thing about her either. To them , she was probably just another weird person, and she did not try to prove them differently. With Dario, it was almost threatening. Maybe because what he offered her was a real friendship. She always thought that she was incapable of forming a true friendship. However, maybe it was just because she didn’t want one.

Damara came to herself, snapping out of her inner thoughts. She was staring at him still, but now she was actually looking at him. When he mentioned the park, she froze up. She remembered that day clearly. There was a mental stab in her brain that reminded her that she had failed someone. She quickly tried to subdue the emerging thoughts. “I remember.” She said in a soft tone. “I haven’t really had much time to form any hobbies. I still don’t think I am suited to many things.” She tried to go over things in her mind: Writing, reading, athletics.. Nothing.. She couldn’t think of anything. “I am a medium, so I used to spend a lot of time messing around with spirits. “ She new that didn’t qualify as a hobby, but it was the only think she could think of. She brushed her right hand along the skin of her left arm. She wasn’t wearing much, but that was because she wasn’t cold. “I apologize, it is hard for me to find normal everyday things to talk about." She then paised for a moment. " Are you still in to movies?”

Dario nodded firmly, a friendly smile still on his face. "Always have been, always will be" he replied almost instantly. No matter what happened to him, Dario was pretty sure he would always love film, both as an art form and as a way of telling a story. Some of his greatest relationships with other people were formed by film watching or film discussion, he found it an area in which there was literally something for everyone. It was his firm belief that there could not be anyone out there who just, in general, hated movies. And if they did hate movies, it was just because they have not seen the right ones. Hell, maybe later in the day Dario would consider asking Damara to see a movie, it was one of the greatest ways of bonding he could think of, atleast at the time.

When Damara told him of her interest in spirits, Dario noticed she seemed to be a little unsure of it being a legitimate answer. Dario honestly couldn't see why that wouldn't be a hobby. If it was something you did to pass the time and you were interested in it, it qualified as a hobby, simple as that. "Spirits, eh?" he asked her, pondering a bit as to what she could mean as he did. "That's interesting, really. Personally all I know about spirits are stuff I have seen in movies. Are you still into them? 'Cause you talk about it as if it has died down." he asked, legitimately interested in the topic.

Damara picked up Dario’s slightly interest in her hobby. To tell the truth, she could not understand how it could qualify as a happy. It wasn’t exactly he normal activity that one does in there spare time. She began to think about he life before all of the drama. Now that she thought about it, she did have hobbies.. Once upon a time. Even when her father was in his violent phases, she could remember having friends, and going out to spend time with them. Back then, she did normal things like write, movies, play games. What had she completely forgot about those days. Even though there just as many painful memories, she could just think about the good ones from time to time. Like her mother, there was no reason she should forget about he r mother… just because she wanted to erase her father form her mind and being, completely.

This time, her inner thoughts had not caused her to daze off. She was still very Aware of Dario. “Yeah, a lot of people do not now much about spirits. Many are so closed minded they only see this reality, and what is in it. “ She said as she remembered calling Estara too her. Whatever happened to that girl named Aura. That student was able to see spirits as well. Damara nodded her head ye. “Yeah, I am still in to them, but not as much. Unlike most other hobbies, calling to the spirits can be dangerous. The last time I did it, I ended up with some extra baggage. Now I have a spirit clinging to my physical being. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.” She said, not meaning it as a joke. Estara had played a big role in saving Damara’s life. Back when it had happened, Damara could remember being highly upset at it. Now, she just didn’t care. “It was because of her I made it to the hospital alive.” She cut her sentence short at that. It probably would not have been the best idea to voice that she was unhappy about that. Lightly, she shrugged her shoulder, and decided not to get in to too much of a serious conversation. “ In general though, I have met some very interesting people who have died.”

Dario huffed outward in laughter again when Damara mentioned the statement, his smile still very apparant. He was laughing not at Damara's misfortune, but out of his respect for her perserverance over this spirit. Hell, if he had a spirit clinging to his being, he would probably go insane over it. Okay, maybe "insane" was a bit outrageous, but he would sure become irratated as hell with it, kind of like how one would become irratated with a roommate that was forced upon them that they particularly hated. But who knew? Maybe the spirit was decent to be around, to talk to. Maybe it would be fun to have around at times. However, he sure would not enjoy it following him around wherever he went. After all, nobody wanted to see what Dario did in the shower on particularly lonely mornings. Yup.

"You can contact the dead? Wow...have you met any dead celebrities?" he asked, half joking with that last statement. Despite his quick little jest, he was also nothing but intrigued by that her last sentance. He never really thought about what would happen when he would eventually die, knowing his whole life was ahead of him. He certainly did acknowledge death in general, however. Hell, he could remember at the tender age of four crying when he fully grasped the concept of death. At that age, he thought it was just plain unfair how one person, through just a fuck up or simply living too long, would have to give up all they had for seemingly no reason but take up space underground. "Seriously, though, that is amazing. I have to ask you more about that later" he said, continuing with a small smile on his face. Sure, what Damara said would usually shock a normal and rational person, but when you were a student at AHS, you would need good luck to be shocked by anything.

Dario gazed at Damara for a few more seconds, that sincere and calm smile still on his face. He really liked her, he was so glad they could just have a normal conversation without anything to weigh them down. As he talked to her, he seemed to only like her more with each word that escaped from her mouth. And as he reflected on how much he liked her, he wanted to show his affection in some way, kind of a way of saying "Thanks". Why not ask her to see a movie?, he thought. They would just simply go to his dorm and pick up any old DVD from his rack, and pop it in. Plus, it was gettling cold, and he prefered room temperature much over the current chill that was floating around outside.

With that, Dario did something that just came naturally to him. He reached forward, and placed his arm on Damara's shoulder, patting it affectionately. "I wanna take you inside, my dorm, we can see a movie" he said, in a sincere and inviting tone. "You okay with that?' he asked, perfectly fine whether her answer would be yes or no.

This whole conversation with Dario thing was seeming like a good idea. It had been a long time since she was able to just be. Maybe it was because she never really strived to be light hearted. Up until now, she thought her life was just to complicated to try to enjoy the normal things in life. She had seen to many things, been too many places. She could no longer imagine her life being any other way. However, at this very moment, there was no need to weigh herself down with negative things in her life.

It seemed he had found her little spirit thing amusing. She was used to Estara now, even if it aggravated her from time to time. Now it seemed to be a part of who she was as a person. If Damara paid attention, she could feel the Spirit laying dormant within her. Now that she thought about it, should she warn Dario that if she loses grip of herself, that The spirit may try to play some evil joke on him. No, Damara thought as she mentally shrugged that off. She was in much better control of her body now. Short of being unconscious, there was no way that Estara would gain control long enough to do any damage. In response to Dario’s laughter, Damara didn’t do anything. It wasn’t to be rude, she just didn’t have a response at the moment.

However, since he seemed to be interested in the spirits, she continued to talk about them. “Yeah, I can contact them, and sometimes they contact me. I have never had the pleasure of meeting the spirit of a deceased celebrity though.” She said as she lifted her pale arm up to the ear holding the feather. She slid her finger along it before pulling it from her hair, and holding it in the palm of her hand. Her blue gaze fixed on to it. “If you are up to it one day, I will contact the spirits while you are around. If they are weak, you may not be able to see them. However, if I call to the stronger ones like Estara, then you will be able so see and speak to them. Estara is the spirit that merged with me- for lack of a better word.” She said without looking up from the feather. “Many of the stronger ones were meta humans when they were alive. Some of them still have those powers.” She new that for a fact because she new how to steal the powers from them. However, she decided to keep that it of information secret. Finally, she lifted her gaze from the feather that seemed to hypnotize her, and her blue gaze landed on Dario once again. “Whenever you are ready to ask about them, I will gladly answer what I can.”

There was silence for a moment. Damara kept her gaze on him as he looked at her.. If she had been able to read minds, and if she had known he was going to reach forward to touch her shoulder, she would have backed up to avoid it. However, she didn’t know it was coming. Ever since she left the mental hospital, everyone kept there distance on their own. Neither Fait nor Seth had tried to touch her at all. Yes, she had tried to seduce Dario in the hospital, but she knew he would not have touched her. When she felt his hand land on her shoulder, she instantly jerked back. She felt his hand fall from her shoulder, and when she looked back up at him- her gaze was cold. A defense in her had clicked on without her permission. The touch was like something sharp, something that had forced unwanted memories and images on to her. In the back of her mind, she knew that Dario was not the men from that day, but part of her didn’t care. Part of her wanted to lash out since she couldn’t lash out that day, and she was fighting to control that that.

Her gaze never left him, but all the friendliness seemed to be drained from them. She was looking at Dario, but seeing someone else. Don’t let that hate consume you. You aren’t’ seeing clearly. She heard a familiar voice from within her head. She also felt her defenses lowering, and it wasn’t of her doing. Damara closed her eyes. Calm down, and try looking again. She heard Estara say before she opened her eyes to see Dario. Damara took in a deep breath, and side glanced to the side. She was no longer on the defense, and her gaze had went back to neutral. He had asked her something, right? Damara was facing him, but she was looking past him. “I am okay with that... the movie” She said, as she began to walk past him toward the dorms. She stopped a few paces behind him. “Please try to avoid touching me.”
