The garden still maintained some of the smells of fresh flowers, even in the raw heat of the Tokyo summer. For Caleb, smells was about all he could ask out of a garden now days, he just knew better than to hope to see what he considered to be one of AHS most beautiful places...

There were several reasons why he had come. First off, the talk about vampires had more than disturbed him, he felt he should come here if for nothing else to apologize to Leon, or at least where Leon had been. Supposedly, somehow the Miko was alive again, which Caleb was more than happy for. Still though, this had been where he had met a darkness that was not of his own past, possibly the only darkness strong enough to concur him.

The other reason was actually hope. Caleb had managed to find most of his friends via simply wandering around the school, not taking any specific path nor making an attempt at seeking out their souls. There was still another person he cared very much for, and hoped to meet up with as they had long ago.

Noriko made her way through the garden. She had just recieved the news that she'd be the singer of a recently formed band here at the school. That news was great, it was like the first step of Noriko's dream of becoming a singer. However, one thing kept depressing her. Noriko didn't have many friends at this school. It was hard making friends when you can't even see other people around.

Noriko gently tapped her cane on the ground in front of her. Before coming to the school, there was nobody near her home to be friends with, so it never really bothered her. However, now that she was at the school, Noriko could actually make friends. But she found herself having trouble speaking to others. Ever since coming to the school she had come to hate her disability.

Sighing Noriko continued walking along, listening to the tapping of her steel cane on the ground in front of her. The blind girl carried her cane everywhere, otherwise she couldn't tell what would be in front of her. She sat down on one of the benches and leaned the cane against it.

Sighing again, Noriko thought about what few friends she had. There weren't many. There was Miharu, the alien girl, and Lafiel a rather shy young girl from England. Then her only other real friend, Caleb, she hadn't talked with in such a long time. She figured he probably forgot about her, or maybe she just annoyed him and now he avoided her. They had been roommates...but now the students were seperated into houses and any chance to talk with him again was pretty much gone.

"Maybe coming to this school was a bad idea..." She whispered to herself. She hated not having many friends, and the ones she did have, she hadn't seen in such a long time...

tap tap tap tap tap...

The rythmic tapping of something that sounded long and light snapped Caleb out of his daydreams and back to reality. Someone else was in the garden, as usual. Anime High School was not, as Caleb said quiet consistantly, a place where anyone had to remain alone...

However, the rythmic tapping of what must have been a cane also made his heart somewhat leap in hope. First off, it had two elements that Caleb knew one of his friend's had. The rythmic side to side and front tapping meant the individual was using the cane to 'feel' their way around, assumably meaning they were blind. Second, Caleb was more than well aware that his only fellow blind friend had excellent rythm, along with an excellent voice to match.

He dared not say anything out of fear he could be wrong. After all, although he could use his powers, Caleb prefered to set himself on the same playing field as a regular individual who was blind. It also helped quite a bit with improving his self awareness... but that was another slew of stories.

A smile crossed his face. The voice confirmed it, the person quickly approaching him was indeed Noriko. Even if she lacked something happy to say, Caleb knew he could pretty much turn her day around in a single sentance.

"Or it could be a really good one... It all depends on the people you encounter, and the things you learn..." His smile grew, although inside, yet another pang struck at his side. Another person who has needed me... another person I was not here for.... I hope she can forgive me.

Noriko was just beggining to daydream the day away when a single voice made her sit up instantly.

"Or it could be a really good one... It all depends on the people you encounter, and the things you learn..."

Noriko knew that voice. The voice of someone she held very dear. The voice of a friend, of her best friend, which she had not heard in sometime. An inky black void was spread out in front of her eyes, not allowing her to see a thing. However, this voice seemed to make it seem...almost bright...

"Caleb?!" She said quickly and stood up. Her tone was that of a question, but why did she say it like a question? That was definately his voice...was Noriko just imagining things though?

"Caleb is that you?" She said with a large smile on her face. She had goosebumps down her arms, and a wide grin on her face. She stood there in the warm sunlight, her white hair almost glowing in the sun. She took a step forward and gently tapped her cane out in front of her. The familar 'thud' sound of her cane hitting the rubber of a shoe. She was now standing a few feet from Caleb, still smiling...waiting for a reply and hoping that it really was him.

"Caleb?!"

She was coming closer now, and all Caleb could do was smile and sigh mentally on the inside. Her tone was a question, both happy and puzzled. This increased both Caleb's happiness to see her, and the stabbing pain in his side that said 'thanks for abandoning your friends'. He did not, however, have a chance to respond before Noriko's cane hit the rubber soul on his shoe.

"Caleb is that you?"

So many answers traveled through his mind at once. Some where somewhat sarcastic, including the thought 'I think I'm still me... but I'd better check', the far darker 'Yes, I am now the only Caleb Prometheus wandering around in the world of the living', and several others that did not even present themselves in full verbal layout within his brain. To be brutally honest, Caleb had so many options to respond, his mind overloaded on how to do so exactly.

"Yes, it's me Noriko..." He finally managed, his voice perhaps one of the wierdest combinations of both pain and happiness one could potentially create. After all this time, she still sounds happy to see me... Perhaps I ought to sound more pleased to see her as well. It is the least I could do, after abandoning her, like everyone else...

He cracked an honest smile, putting the pain behind him. "I was hoping you would come here. I am sorry that I left for awhile, but if it is any comfort, I missed you greatly."

Noriko's smile grew even larger. It really was him, Noriko was so glad. After all this time she was speaking with Caleb again. She was overjoyed that one of her few friends, which she had thought left the school and abondoned her, was actually here.

"I've missed you as well!" Noriko said cheerfully, "I didn't know where you had gone. It is so great to hear your voice again." She took a step forward and flung her arms around him. She gave him a large hug and smiled even more, "I didn't know where you had gone. I felt kind of lonely..." She released her hug from Caleb and took a step back, still smiling, "How have you been? Where were you all this time?"

Question and after question hit Caleb like a sac of lead bricks, but he was truly happy to see that Noriko actually was happy to see him, as apposed to angry at him for taking off. He had not been expecting the hug, but returned it greatfully nonetheless. Now, there was only the little trivial matter of how to answer all those questions. To Brian, Caleb had shown his memories, but he seriously did not want to take another trip through those again... especially with Noriko. Brian could understand battles, could understand dark memories and even give advice on how to combat it, but to expose the innocent to darkness... Caleb stood totally against that.

"I did try to tell everyone... My brother wished to dual me for one last time. I had to go, but this time I could not risk letting anyone else be harmed by his darkness. We fought, and in a way, we both lost. Christopher lost his life, and I lost control of my powers. Needless to say, I was a threat to everyone... so I was temporary exiled and trained in a far away dimension." He tried to brush over the details as quickly as possible. It wasn't as though Noriko would not understand, she was full of good advice... but Caleb could not change the past. He too was now a merchant of death, a murderer for his own definition of good. Though he prayed it would never come to that again, at the same time... He just put it out of his mind.

"I am sorry that you if you felt alone all this time... But I will not leave again. It was too painful for me to be gone for all this time, both to me and those whom I consider to be my friends and family..." He paused for a minute, considering the fact that Noriko would certainly be growing tired of Caleb dragging on about himself. "But enough about me... I heard you were getting into a band. How's that going?"

((OOC: Sorry for late reply. Exam time, and I've been busy. Also, this post is kinda rushed, sorry. @_@ ))

Noriko frowned at the mention of his brother and the fight. Noriko had been told all about the thing with his brother...their conflict. She didn't know much, but enough to know that it was a touchy subject. She figured it best not to ask anymore. In fact, she was glad he changed the subject for them.

She smiled brightly, "Yeah...I audtioned for a band here at the school." She said happily, sitting down again. She then patted the seat next to her, "Here, come sit. Let's catch up!" She smiled again, "But yeah...I got chosen as lead singer for the band. Not sure when practice starts, but I'll be sure to invite you to our first gig!" She said happily, "I'll sing for you again, since it's been so long since the last time!"

(OOC: No biggie, I still am occasionally haunted by finals from last year :o )

Caleb did as he was told and sat down on the bench next to her. It was almost odd, being able to jump right into a conversation with someone so soon after finally meeting up again. At least this time, Noriko was much warmer than when they had first met in the garden... That thought almost made Caleb chuckle. Noriko told him the details of what she knew to be the band, and Caleb was more than happy for her. It would be a terrible waste of talents for her to simply sit on the sidelines and watch others move ahead.

"That would be great! I love your singing and the sound of your voice, so I'm happy you've found a way to unleash it." He paused for a second, realizing that she would also want to hear about what he had been doing. After a brief compiling thoughts pause, Caleb burst into another long tale and potential monolouge.

"While I was away, I learned quite a bit about my people's history... Their triumphs and tragedies were both very interesting, but a little sad. I also sort of cheated my teacher and used his learning device to watch the all of the Kenshin anime... I'm a bad person for doing that..." He grinned slightly, and then continued, "But then I got back... a good amount of my friends needed help, so I was more than happy at the fact that they were still willing to except me around them." I was more than lucky that they wanted me back... This was the second time I abandon them, if not turned my back to them just for selfish purposes. Never again.

Noriko smiled, "Well, I am glad you are back. And of course your friends will accept you back. You're a wonderful person, and I can't imagine anyone not wanting you around. I, for one, am extremely glad to have you back. Unfortunately...the snow is melted, so I'll have to wait to teach you how to make a snowman." Noriko grinned. She still remembered that promise she had made back around Christmas. She intended to keep her promise...it'd just have to wait untill next winter.

She turned so she was facing him, even though neither of them could see each other. She was so glad to have Caleb around again. He was a great friend, and understood what it was like to be blind. There was a certain level of understanding they had with each other, that nobody else had. They were both blind, and new of the hardships each other faced, it was a strong bond that held their friendship together, atleast in Noriko's mind.

Even though she accepted her disability, Noriko still wished to have her sight back. Especially at times like this. She was bursting with happiness and excitement, and would've loved to see Caleb right now. She just sat there thinking for a moment, before realizing that an akward silence had developed, "Sorry," She said speaking up with a smile, "I was just thinking how nice it is to have you around. I really like talking with you, because I feel like you can understand me better than others, due to our shared impairment." She frowned slightly, "It is too bad the new dorms have been set up this way, but we should still be able to see each other, right?" She paused and a terrible thought entered her mind. She frowned as she spoke, "Or...are you planning on leaving again soon...?" She asked with a rather sad tone in her voice.

Caleb chuckled at the part about the snowman. It helped remove a little of the stabbing pain that seared within him for leaving. It also told him that Noriko sure as rain wanted him to stick around for good this time, which Caleb would be more than happy to oblige to.

The silence was ackward, but not in the 'so, what are you thinking' way that most ackward silences are. Caleb was actually trying to process a response, but his mind was currently moving at speed of snail, mostly due to the fact that his heart felt like it was leaping. That was an odd feeling, one that Caleb actually took the time to enjoy feeling, rather than blush and hide in embarrassment. It was just good to be able to feel everything once again.

Noriko's tone faded to saddness, and Caleb instantly knew that he could not relish in a fluttering heart for much longer. Noriko needed some sort of comfort, some sort of way to let her know that this time, he was sticking around for good...

"You know..." he began, "When I first got back, I found one of my friends, someone who is like a sister to me, trying to commit suicide. No less than a day later, I find my adopted brother dying of a mysterious posion, and his twin is now more afraid of me then ever. Now, I find you, contemplating if coming here was a bad move. It makes me wonder, what would happen if I left again? Would those who once nearly gave their lives to save my soul simply either die or just fade from my life completely? I just cannot allow that... It would be unfair to everyone, especially all of you. Therfore..." he took a breath, "To make a long story short, no, I'm not leaving again... or at least, not without asking you all to come with this time."

Noriko frowned, "I am sorry to hear about your friends." She said quietly, "If there is anything that you think I could do to help, let me know." She paused and smiled slightly, "But I am very glad that you are back. It was lonely around here without anyone I could really talk to. It is hard making friends when you can't see, atleast for me."

She paused again thinking. She wasn't sure what to do. Should she try and comfort him over the problems of his friends? Noriko wasn't even sure what to say about that. She realized that yet another silence was forming, and Noriko felt embarassed. She was usually really good at keeping conversations going, but not today, she couldn't stay concentrated on the conversation. She was letting her joy over come her.

"I am sorry, again," Noriko said, laughing slightly, "I just can't seem to concentrate, and can't think of what to say. It's not that I am bored with you or something, I am just really glad to see you back, and it is kind of overwhelming I suppose." That sounded really akward, so Noriko stood up and held out her hand, "So," She asked with a somewhat shy tone, "Would you like to maybe take a walk as we speak with each other?"

Caleb absorbed what Noriko was saying quite slowly, making sure he was understanding everything that she said completely. When she fell silent for a few seconds, he finally spoke again.

"I think that the greatest help would be if you stuck around... But Noriko, we cannot afford to seperate ourselves from the rest of the world merely due to our inability to see..." Caleb paused for a second, getting an idea that actually may have helped the situation, he too fell into silence for a few moments, thinking of exactly how he would do so such a thing...

Then Noriko spoke up again, and offered him her hand. If Caleb's brain had not been in overdrive, he would have taken the time to think, 'what does this mean?' Instead, he took it without hesitation and arose. His thought process completed itself just in time to absorb Noriko's second statement.

"You don't need to apolgize so much Noriko, I know how you feel" I'm pretty sure I feel it to..."And I think I may be able to help you in a way, if you are willing to learn."

Noriko smiled as Caleb grabbed her hand. She turned and started to walk, hoping he would follow. He then spoke of being able to help her, but Noriko didn't understand. She doubted there was any real qay to gain her vision, but Noriko was willing to learn about anything he had in mind. She smiled and spoke up, "I'd be willing to learn any about any help you may know of..."

She paused and realized she was still holding his hand. She felt herself begin to blush and quickly released her hand and brought it down to her side. She continued to walk, but was too embarassed to say anything. She hadn't met to hold his hand like that, had she? She was so caught up in her thoughts that she hadn't been tapping her cane in front of her. She kicked a small rock, but thankfully regained her balance quickly. Feeling like she say something, Noriko spoke up, "So, um, uh..." She tried to collect her thoughts, "What do you want to do now? Or what do you want to talk about?"

"Don't doubt yourself yet..." Caleb cut in, already aware of the fact that Noriko was not confident in either or both what Caleb was offering, and more importantly, herself. "But I can teach you to see in a way... the same way how I was taught to see the world even before I went blind. It works differently then sight, mostly because it is your soul that is doing to seeing, your eyes just act as a focusing hub. It is why to this day I can still use those gifts, even though my eyes are gone... You still would not be able to see the ground or the world around, but you would at least be able to get a good view of someone before you choose whether to meet them or not."

He paused for a second, both listening to Noriko and thinking of how his father and step father alike had taught him how to see souls. It had involved a few sessions and a lot of focus, but Caleb had started to pick up on it very quickly. In fact, it was that ability and the potential for so much more that had originally gotten him accepted to AHS.

"If you are willing, I could start training you immediatly, but if you wish to think about it, then let's just keep walking and talking, ok? I missed you, and I really do not care what we do just so long as I get to be around you again." Something in the back of his mind echoed that he should be warning her about Scythexious and the plot he had uncovered, but that could wait for later. Right now, in the bright of the day, was no time to speak of the darkest shadows.

Noriko listened as Caleb spoke. She was glad that he hadn't seem to notice the abrupt release of his hand, however, in a way she was disappointed. It was just a really odd feeling Noriko was having at the moment. She pushed it out of her mind and listened to Caleb speaking, "That sounds...very interesting...but do you really think I'd be able to do it?" She asked curiously.

Noriko smiled and spoke up, "I don't know...maybe I should think about it more." She moved slightly to the side closer to Caleb, as she heard someone or something shuffling their feet and run past her. She continued walking, "And I've missed you too. I was really worried something might of happened to you...I remembered all of the stories of your past and of your family and everything...that all made me nervous." She smiled warmly as she continued speaking, "Your the only person here that I really feel connected to. You're a great friend, I really like being able to talk with you like this, and I am glad you are back."

She stopped and paused. The scent of flowers met her nose. However, there was one scent that stood out above all else. Noriko smiled, "The trees must be blossoming." She said cheerfully, "I think we're under the cherry blossoms right now..." She stood there and relaxed for a moment. She was still thinking about the offer Caleb had made. He said that with this training, she could maybe see people's faces...that would mean she would be able to see Caleb, "I..." She paused, "I think I would like to learn what you spoke of." She smiled and turned to face him, "Maybe not right now...but sometime soon..."

She had remembered everything that he told her. It meant so much, but at the same time, reflected so deep into Caleb that he did not like what he was seeing inside. Why did it seem that he was defined by pain, misery, and being alone? It should not have been like that, it never should have been like that. Then something hit his nostrils like a brick wall, for they brought back a strong memory that most of Caleb wanted so badly to forget, to write into myth and then argue it never happened. The problem was, it was the root of his last forced journey abroad from AHS, so he could not erase it, or even fight the emotions that it brought him.

Everything seemed to fade from reality as Caleb drew closer and closer to the smell. It was lovely, yet the blossoms now seemed to haunt him with their beauty, the soft winds that occasionally knocked some into the air seemed to whisper about death. Maybe he was going insane, but then again, being forced to kill your own brother would drive most people insane...

He could no longer help himself... Caleb released Noriko's hand and sank to his knees, facing the closest tree in front of him. His breathing became short, almost gaspy breaths, and his hands started shaking. Right now, he could no longer even remember what world he was in, nor did he care. All that mattered was letting the pain out...

"I'm so sorry Christopher... I couldn't save you..." Was all he managed. Merchants of death could not save anyone. They simply kept murdering the shadow so that the light could prosper, but they never truly could hold the light within themselves. He remained like this for a few seconds, before realizing exactly where he was, and who he was with.

"Oh god..." he muttered softly, and stood back up facing toward where he had left Noriko. "I'm so sorry, I did not mean to do that... I-I did not wish for you to have to deal with this..."

Something was wrong, Caleb seemed...out of it. She couldn't see him, but could hear the change in his breathing. Noriko turned around and reached out for him, but couldn't find him. She then heard his breathing coming from below...he must've been crouching. Noriko knelt down and placed her hand on Caleb's shoulder, "Caleb? What's wrong?" She asked nervously.

He seemed better now. Noriko wasn't sure what just caused such a strange event to happen. She frowned and stepped closer to him, "Caleb..." She said nervously, "What's wrong? Is something the matter...is there anything I can do for you?" She didn't know what had just happened, but was nervous now. Something was bothering him...but what?

It was what they all had said, or at least a variation of it. Do you want to talk, what is troubling you, what's wrong... it all meant so much to him that they all were still knocking at the door to his spirit after all the times he had hidden from them. This time was no different, aside from the fact that he was no longer dealing with his brother directly. Still, it wasn't that much different...

"My brother and I... our final dual occured underneath cherry trees that had blossomed early. He actually sought out an honorable battle with me, why I don't know... but in the end, the fires of my soul burned him like a cinder." He raised his palms and tried to stare at them for a second, and then remembered he was blind. "I did not want to kill him, but I was ready to do so in the end. If Christopher had not used a trick up his sleeve, I would have slashed him in half. What kind of a brother kills his sibling? While I was away, I guess I was kept too busy to face the pain fully. Now that I'm back though, now that I can sense the blossoms..."

Caleb simply couldn't say anymore. It wasn't that he was trying to hide anything from Noriko, but he had never felt this kind of pain since his soul had been ripped in half. Maybe this was more painful, the realization that if his brother had not died accendently, he would have died purposefully. Whether Caleb liked it or not, he really truly was a merchant of death now.

Noriko frowned listening to what Caleb was saying. Had she known that the blossoms would bring back such bad memories, then she would've avoided them. He stopped abruptly as he was speaking and Noriko grabbed his hand again, "It's okay...you don't have to talk about it anymore..." Still holding his hand tightly Noriko began to walk away from the blossoms, "Here, let's get away from the cherry blossoms." She said quietly.

Noriko frowned, I wish there was something I could do... She thought to herself, Caleb is seems so worried about helping his friends...but he needs help with problems also... Noriko sighed lightly, trying to think of something she could do to maybe get Caleb's mind off of his brother and te fighting that had taken place.

She realized one again that she was holding his hand rather tightly, and her face turned red. She didn't know why, but it just made her nervous, "Sorry," She said as she released his hand and stepped to the side a bit, "So, um, how about we go walk somewhere else, like the lake or something and get away from these blossoms..." She paused, "And Caleb, if there is anything I can do to help you, please tell me."

Caleb did not know how to react for a few moments. The parts of him overcome by grief were fading, yet another part of him wanted to hold on to those feelings. It was the same part of him that had always wanted vengence on Scythexious, the similiar feelings he had while only having half of a soul. Caleb reminded himself that these feelings would have their turn, and slowly, he focused on burying them. Of course, back in the real world, he let Noriko lead him away from the trees... and he began to listen again.

At first, there was only silence coming from Caleb's mouth. His mind had already accomplished its task of burying his feelings, but he wanted to give Noriko a response that she deserved. Caleb absolutely wanted his words to have meaning, each and every one of them. Finally, he spoke in a quiet voice, almost a whisper...

"Noriko, you have already done so much for me, you cannot even imagine my gratittude. As much as I regret it, I need to remember these feelings, I need this part of me to stop the one who has been pulling all the strings." But this time, I cannot allow myself to go in a head to head battle with him... at least not on his terms, not like Washington... "But for now, let's get away from here and try to be happy. I missed you too much to have our reunion be a sad one."

Caleb managed a smile, a real genuine smile. Although he grieved for his brother, although he hated the part of himself who had been willing to kill his own kin, Caleb's friends and family gave him a reason to smile, a reason to live.

Noriko frowned slgihtly, "Well...just remember, that I'll always be here for you. You can talk to me about anything, and I'll listen and try and help. If you can't find me, come look at the garden." She smiled and turned to face him, "It's the least I can do for you. You're a great friend, I really like y-" She blushed, and cut off mid sentence and scrambled to find something else to say, "I really like being able to talk with you like this, so I'll always be around if you need me."

She could feel her face was still red as could be, "So then Caleb, where should we go to?"

Caleb couldn't help himself when his skin felt the warmth ressenating from Noriko's blush. It was ever such a slight increase, but with Caleb's extra sensitivity training he caught on almost immediatly. However, out of respect for Noriko (and the fact he too was fighting a blush), Caleb simply smiled with a bit of a sly grin.

"It is nice being able to talk to you like this, you are able to give advice that I normally wouldn't think of... Not that I do much thinking, but that's beside the point. You know, I heard their was some sort of beach trip coming up... and while I think we should keep hanging out today, I also think a day at the beach wouldn't be a bad thing. But for now, let's just keep walking."

Truth was, Caleb had no clue what he wanted to do today. Sure, he could develope plans for the future, but say what was going on now? Nope. Maybe it was due to the fact that he had not spent enough time 'just hanging' with others, maybe it was due to the part of him who just couldn't let go of fighting evil. Whatever it was, Caleb knew he deserved the official dunce cap for having this problem... but maybe over time he would find a way to fix it.

Noriko let out a very small sigh of relief. It seemed that Caleb hadn't noticed the first thing she said. Which was good, because now she wasn't as embarassed. She continued walking along side of him as he spoke about the beach trip, "I guess that would be fun...I've never really been to a beach before. But I don't know how to swim..." She smiled, "But maybe it'd be fun to go anyway."

The beach did sound like fun, but what were the two of them going to do now? They were currently just walking in the garden, which Noriko normally wouldn't have a problem with. However, she wanted to get away from the garden because of what happened with Caleb when he got around the cherry blossoms.

"Hey..." She said speaking up and turning her head towards Caleb, "Would you maybe want to go to the waterfall for a bit? It is really nice there, even if you can't see it."

Caleb's eyes opened in a slight state of shock. Since he had been originally raised on an island, and his makeshift boat had capsized on him god only knew how many times while he tried to escape, he had gotten a lot of expirence with swimming. Of course, he hadn't done it in years, but swimming was something he wanted to try again, even without eyes... Part of him returned to memory, seeing once again the crystal blue waters on the beautiful beach that had been his and his family's alike. He wondered if those waters were still that beautiful, and if the surrounding islands were still green specs off in the distance, something you could swim to or boat to with the proper determination.

"I'm sorry..." He muttered after a couple of seconds, "I should have realized that you probably would not know how to swim... but if you like, I could teach you to do that as well... its much easier than seeing souls."

He once again fell silent, listening to her idea about the waterfall. In all honesty, he loved it. First off, this saved him from having to think up a place to hang out at, and second, Caleb had never actually been toward the bottom portion of the waterfall in all his time at AHS. It was something he had always wanted to do, but never gotten the chance to.

"The waterfall is a great idea! I've actually never been to the specific area... I think that is the only one on the entire campus I've never bothered to visit, other than the Dark Forest naturally." he finally voiced his opinion aloud so she would know. Sometimes, it was better to say the truth and where the dunce cap for lack of decisive ability as aposed to standing and thinking only to develope a really lame one.

Noriko gave an akward smile and sighed, "Uh thanks...I guess..." She paused and frowned, "You keep offering all of these things to help me out and stuff, but I have nothing to give in return...I feel bad about that."

Noriko smiled after hearing this, "Okay then!" She said cheerfully now, "I'll take you. It is really nice there. And the water, for the most part, is really shallow so you can wade through it to cool off. It is a really nice place, one of my favorite places besides the garden."

Caleb raised an eyebrow at Noriko for what she had said. He honsetly did not understand her need to have equal exchange between the two of them. IN fact, if he knew she wasn't serious, he would have thought it funny.

"You know as well as I that we shouldn't be attempting to balance out gifts for one another. As much as I can give you, it is useless for me to keep to myself. After all, isn't that the point of knowledge?" He paused, realizing already that this was not a battle he could win. Caleb's brain instead shifted into the gears of compramise. "Besides, you are going to have to lead me to the waterfall since I've never been there, so I think that even if you want to maintain that mentality, I'm only one up on you."

Upon hearing her speak about the waterfall, Caleb knew she had brigthened up, which he was quiet thankful for. If it had half the beauty that Noriko spoke of, then Caleb thought to himself he may have just found another one of his favorite places on campus. Silent at first, he held out his hand to her and smiled somewhat nerveously. He didn't know why he was nerveous, but he was. "Alright Noriko, that me there... guide me and I will follow."

"Okay then, but I still have to pay you back with one more thing before we are even." She said smiling. She continued walking along towards the garden before stopping as Caleb spoke up again.

Something in his voice sounded out of place, as if he weren't using his usual tone of voice, "Something wrong?" She asked and then realized he was holding his hand out. She paused for a moment and bit her lower lip. She took hold of his hand gently, "You okay like this? People might get some idea in their head." She paused, laughed, and smiled lightly, "Though I guess there's nothing wrong with that." She pasued again, "I mean...like, it doesn't really matter what other people think."

Noriko was beggining to blush again. She shouldn't have brought it up, because now she felt nervous for some reason. "Well, uh, lets go." She said beginning to walk again, while still holding onto Caleb's hand.

(OOC: Sorry for the long long long delay... finally going to catch up on everything...)

Caleb couldn't help but laugh at Noriko wondering what people would think of them. It came out in a small sort of chuckle. a thought crossed his mind that he openly voiced. "Noriko, I really do not believe that anyone is going to spend much time thinking about us holding hands. After all, I do not think that we would be the biggest oddity to ever cross this campus."

Several invasions of different evils and several appereances of people who were supposedly dead crossed Caleb's mind to fit into that category. Sure, maybe a couple of people would laugh or giggle slightly at the phrase: blind leading the blind, but for the mostpart there was no reason to fear.

No reason to fear... that thought drove the nerves away. What happens, is destined to happen. It was the path the Caleb walked, admitting that yes indeed he was part of something, but he much prefered to think of himself as a small part. Noriko's hand fit warmly into his, and suddenly Caleb was no longer much thinking of anything. For once in his life, his soul felt completely happy, not worry about a single tidbit or complication or would be.

"Ready when you are."
