(He waited with the patience of the mountains...)

Ray: She will come.

(The land of humans was but one land, the very world he was born to, but did not belong to. The home he had in South America would be the only human ties he truly had. There were...a scant few others whom he was friends with. They were not of his world. They just didn't belong there, for it was a world that belonged to his kind. The reason he had it had been lost, but...there it was. Ray sat against a tree at the edge of the forest, his mind reeling back into its depths to the entrance - invisible to the naked eye - to Paradise. It was always open to wolves. To anyone else who could find it, it would only open if Ray wanted it to open. He waited...)

Hush grabbed a pair of baggy khaki and tugged them on along with a bright red t-shirt with orange and yellow flames on it. Hush went back outside to where she had left Wicked.

"Do you know where this Paradise is?" she asked him.

"Of course Milady."

Hush raced through the woods with the oddest sensation that she was heading home again. Hush shook the thought of home from her mind not wanting to dwell on the pain that happened in that mansion in Ireland for six long years. She still bore the scars from the silver.

They arrived at a clearing but Wicked jsut stopped and stood very still. He was waiting for something to happen his ears perked forward listening. Hush saw Ray ahead of her his back to a massive tree trunk.

"Ray!"

"Ray!"

Ray: Hmm? What? Must have dozed off...

(He began to stand up from where he sat, stretching his body to get all the kinks out. For having been there only a little while, he seemed very well rested. He blinked a couple times to focus and saw Hush and Wicked coming. He smiled and made a sort of "Follow me" gesture before leaping off further into the woods. Even in human form, Ray was overly agile. It was all due to his exercise. He came to stop at a clearing, one that appeared normal, but for a single black-coated wolf sitting there. Ray recognized him immediately. Ray had nicked him as Sunsetter, for his blackish fur with the golden eyes, and also because he was a kin-brother to the departed Keensetter.)

Ray: Is it taken care of?

Sunsetter: It was done, Erastor...

Ray: I'm sorry, Sunsetter... I know he was your last-

Sunsetter: Don't. He was old and hunted well. But why? Why did the human hunt him?

Ray: He thought he was a werewolf, the kind that have no mind of their own.

Sunsetter: And this?

(He meant Hush, who could not be far behind...)

Ray: A friend.

(Sunsetter gave Ray a look for a second. He may have been yound and he may not have known everything about the world, but the tang in Hush's scent told him that this friend of Ray's was someone closely akin to himself, a werewolf. If Ray was bringing one other than himself...what did this mean? The black wolf loped off...and disappeared into a ripple of air. Hush would soon see it properly, a gate that was rippling somewhat and only clear by way of scent. It smelled...peaceful.)

Ray: This is the place I call home nowadays. It was created by a kitsune in return for a service I did in exchange. Actually, it was more of a reward. I never expected to receive anything. This is where many of the wolves stay to rest, rather than being exposed to the kinds of hell wandering the world. They were growing fewer and fewer in numbers until I got this thing.

Hush raced after Ray, Wicked trailing a few steps behind her. Then an odd scent hit her. It smelled like springtime, full of life and peacefulness. It smelled like hope and security. Hush stopped uncertain of the rippling portal hanging before her. She took a deep breath and stepped through. She stepped into Paradise.

Hush raced after Ray, Wicked trailing a few steps behind her. She moved almost as swiftly as Ray did but not quite. Her golden red hair fluttered in the breeze and she grinned. She paused a moment to look behind to make sure Wicked was still with her. He was panting but he remained right behind her.

Then an odd scent hit her. It smelled like springtime, full of life and peacefulness. It smelled like hope and security. Hush stopped uncertain of the rippling portal hanging before her. She took a deep breath and stepped through.

She stepped into Paradise.

OOC: Funny thing... This place is like a play off of .hack and Wolf's Rain.

IC>>>

(As soon as she entered, there was a watery shimmer around here and then a pleasant sunlight from overhead. There was nothing special about the portal, save for the fact that it was always visible from the inside and that it had a protective membrane of energy to lock out clever intruders. Of course, if the intruder were a kitsune, there was a chance that it could be breached. Paradise... It was a blue sky, a gentle sun, and plenty of rolling hills and wilderness. There were a few trees at the entrance, a more forested area farther on, and lots and lots of grassy fields. Wolves were here, plentiful in number. They were the many packs that had agreed to act under the Devorak Clan. Immediately, Hush would notice three things that stuck out. First, there was a sign erected in front here. It said...)

Welcome to Paradise

(It was a wooden sign carved by claw and placed there for reasons that Hush could only guss at. The second thing to see was the congregation of wolves howling in the field, which was being approached by the black wolf from outside. This clearly had something to do with Keensetter. And thirdly...a rather peculiar thing... On a large stump not far away, there were two objects. One was a one-sided sword of excellent craftsmanship. The other was a pair of glasses with one cracked lens. The glasses were the most peculiar because they did not look like they were Ray's. The portal was heard to shimmer again as Ray stepped into Paradise.)

Ray: What do you think of it?

Hush's jaw dropped. This place was beautiful, truly beautiful. She spotted a huge pack of wolves in the distance. Wicked stiffened slightly at the sight of so many other wolves. She turned sooth him murmuring softly. Upon turning again she spotted a sign that read: Welcome To Paradise

Quote:

What do you think of it?

"Ray this is amazing! I've seen anything so beautiful. Is that your pack?" Hush asked as fell backwards onto her butt and stared into the distance at the amazing place she had been brought to. Hush sighed softly and flopped onto her back and closed her eyes scanting out the place. The scents of many wolves, plants, and a warm scent that could be the sunshine.

"Ray I think I can smell the sunlight."

"Ray this is amazing! I've seen anything so beautiful. Is that your pack?"

Ray: Yes, it's mine, in a way. They're all their own clans and families, but they agreed to act under my leadership, mostly because I do all that I can for them.

(He'd spent alot of time on that, too. The wolves of this island had had to suffer greatly before-hand, all due to the uprising of demons, spirits, mutants, hunters, and metas. Nobody thinks of the wolves but wolves themselves. Humans are careless creatures in this sense. Now that they organize, the wolves are plentiful and as notorious as the devils lurking in the dark forest. People are wary of wolves now because they are getting far more active and clever...)

"Ray I think I can smell the sunlight."

(He stepped forward a couple feet, looking at that sun, letting it bask over him for a moment.)

Ray: You can... It's not the real thing, so its light doesn't from anywhere in space. Everything in here is the product of a kitsune's powers. It's not totally fake, but it is hard to tell that sometimes.

(Just then, the group on the hill began to disperse. The mourning must have been complete. Wolves mourned greatly and carried the loss with them forever. They never forget. Ray will never forget either. The events in his life on this island have forever changed him and sometimes confused him. The memontos of those times were his daily reminder to keep his head on straight.)

Hush watched the group on the hill break up and go in seperate directions. She didn't know what they had been doing but they looked sad. She looked at Ray and his eyes were filled with sorrow.

Hush laid a hand on his shoulder. "Ray, are you alright? You look like your heart is breaking."

(The hand on his shoulder brought him out of his thoughts. He was surprised by it, but didn't react with anything more than a sudden wideness of his eyes. Hush would notice this if she were facing him only. His head raised as he heard her speak.)

"Ray, are you alright? You look like your heart is breaking."

(It was, but for several reasons. He turned to face Hush, his eyes focused on her concern.)

Ray: That pack was mourning for Keensetter. It reminded me of my darkest times here, where I seem...so much less than I am now. Here, let me tell you...

(He led her over to the stump with the sword and glasses laid upon them. Somehow, these two items were important in some way, and it seemed inevitable that they would be explained. No wolf approached this spot. They were asked to leave it alone and did so to respect Ray. He sat down by the stump.)

Ray: I told you that it was a kitsune who made this place, but I know that they cannot all be trusted. There are many who look down upon humans and other beings, and have a base aggression against wolves or any other being not like their own. My friend, Sakura, is one herself and can be trusted. But there was another, name of Min, who brought out the absolute worst in me.

(He picked up the glasses, a light pair of specs that bore a cracked lens. Not especially damaged, but it would seem that the owner was no longer available to make use of them. They were clearly not Ray's, because he possessed excellent eyesight and just didn't seem to fit these things.)

Ray: When I first met Min, he and his brother were suffering from a strain of rabies, driving them slowly mad. I don't know what happened to Katori, but Min was most certainly mad. After that incident, I saw him a long time later performing a perverse and grotesque action. He had kidnapped and dragged a girl from her home and pulled her all the way up the Dragoon Mountain to be murdered in a ritual sacrifice. She suffered terribly on the way, terrorized out of her mind and tortured before she was brutally cut apart with a sword.

(The description of the girl's fate had had some of the details left out because it was more horrific than even that, such as the fact that she had left a trail of blood up the mountain or that she had been stripped naked before placed in a special kind of torture-slab that practically crucified her. Ray's voice carried a deadly edge when talking of this. His silver eyes retained a slight glow with his anger.)

Ray: I arrived too late to do anything, just after he had prayed to the full moon with his sacrifice. He claimed she was a demon, but I smelled and saw no evidence at all. He murdered her in cold blood and prayed to very thing we wolves look up to. I was sickened with rage... Not only did I try to kill him, I hunted him with the pack so I could beat him with every inch of his life and then doom him to live a life of lycanthropy.

(Ray calmed himself soon after he spoke his peace on the matter. Every time he talked about Min, he grew a temper that got feral enough to initiate a partial transformation. Fangs, pointed ears, darker facial features - these all came with the territory with a wolf whose powers responded to emotion. His return to the calm negated this.)

Ray: Min got away with the help of another and I have always regretted the incident for my weakness, for his unforgivable act, and for the death of a total innocent in such a horrible way. Maybe if I'd had five more seconds, something could have been done, but it's hard to get up a mountain even at the top of your game. I found and kept the glasses after the nightmares...which were due to a new power of mine that made me aware of everything that happened that day...

Hush stared at Ray with tears in her eyes. He must have felt responsible for it. Hush felt she should tell him her own horror story. "I know how it is. Whating to kill someone so badly it takes all your thought from you. I almost killed a man for what he did to me."

Hush held out her hands palm up to show Ray the cross shaped burns there. "These weren't the first either. He has marked my arms, chest, and legs. He was my tutor, and I believed I could trust him. Then he demeaned me putting me on leashes, forcing to eat from dog dishes. If I disobeyed he would burn me with silver. I couldn't scream because the first transformation had rendered me mute form the sheer shock. I recovered my voice after coming to this school. There were days where all I could think off was ripping that man apart."

Tears poured down her face as she sobbed out all of her pain. She also cried for Ray and Keensetter and a world that didn't care. Plus she was always emotional around the full moon.

When Hush finally calmed down she asked Ray for a favor. "Can move my pack here? They'd still be mine and independent, but I want to keep them safe. You're right wolves are disreguarded as a nuisance in this day and age.

(He hadn't thought of the cross-shaped marks on Hush at all, at least not since they were first noticed. Ray had assumed that someone had been defending themselves from Hush's feral side, an action that was understandable. But this... To hear that a man that she had trusted would do these things to her... Ray knew now that the two of them were hardly different. He had been lucky at times, but his hardships, like Hush, were still great. Seeing her cry now, Ray placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, a non-verbal "I understand what you'vehad to go through" sort of message.)

"Can move my pack here? They'd still be mine and independent, but I want to keep them safe. You're right, wolves are disregarded as a nuisance in this day and age."

(His response was quiet, but audible.)

Ray: Of course you can. I wanted to show you this Paradise so that you knew there was a always a place you and your clan would be welcome. You don't need to be a part of the clan here. They decided to do that on their own.

(He drew himself up, standing tall and in the sunlight with his silver eyes focused on her, holding out a hand towards Hush.)

Ray: And I'll say it to make it official... Welcome to Paradise, Hush. You're no longer alone.

Hush stared at his hand for a moment and leaped and hugged Ray. He was right she was no longer alone. For years she thought she would never meet another like herself. Hush stepped back realizing that must have been akward for Ray. She managed to give him a watery smile. She signalled Wicked.

"You and the pack are going to live here. There is plenty of game and you will be safe from humans. I don't want you to get hurt." Hush buried her face into Wicked's fur.

"Milady wherever you think is best we will go. Plus there are some very pretty females here."

Hush laughed and walked out of the portal to call her pack to her. Hush stood beside Wicked and let loose a long loud howl. It was a song of calling telling them to come to Hush's side.

Ten minutes later they appeared silently from the forest. They peered at the portal inquiringly.

"You'll be living here from now on." she said firmly and they accepted her edict. SHe brought them to meet Ray.

"Ray this is Torn, Blizzard, Nightsong, Ying and Yang, and you know Wicked." she introduced them one by one her pack. She had to take care of them and this was the best way to do that.

(Well, he hadn't expected that kind of reaction, but this was the first time he'd met a lady werewolf who wasn't prone to barking and clawing without a scrap of intelligence. Still, Ray was surprised for a few seconds, then began to smile himself, looking down at the younger wolf. He would take care of her too, if need-be. Her total acceptance of him, and everything he stood for - good or bad - was the most heartening thing he'd felt in a long time. And seeing her smile made him feel good. It meant that the pain - at least for the most part - was behind her. After that, Hush introduced him to her pack formally.)

"Ray this is Torn, Blizzard, Nightsong, Ying and Yang, and you know Wicked."

Ray: My home is your home, as it is also their home. I ask only that you leave my personal effects alone...

(He was gesturing to the sword, which he called Nameless, and to the glasses, of which he had explained to Hush already. Thus, the pack of Hush was welcomed into Paradise, free to use it as all others, even if they were not an actual part of the Devorak clan. They were viewed as allies, regardless. With that out of the way, Ray only had one question...)

Ray: What will you do now?

What will you do now?

Hush thought for a moment. "I might come here to live." She thought living in this beautiful place. "But Rhys might get pissed about me living with another guy ya' know." Hush lifted her eyebrows suggestivly and then a few seconds later busted up laughing. She doubled over howling with laughter. Hush wasn't even sure why she was laughing so hard. The night was beginning to catch up with her. Too much stress and not enough relief from it all. Finally she quieted down panting for breath.

"Sorry about that." Hush said softly her Irish accent thick with her tiredness. She went to lie down with her pack and she noticed Wicked was missing. She saw a little ways off talking to a gold colored female from Ray's pack. "You move fast, huh?" she muttered as she laid down next to Nightsong and fell asleep.

The nightmare started again after an hour only this time it was worse. THe Monster wasn't torturing her but her pack. She tried to run to them but her feet were stuck to the floor. Torn howled and snarled in pain and she tried to scream his name but she mute again. Now mattered how hard she tried she couldn't protect them.

Hush's body began to tremble and thrash about and whimpers poured out of her throat. She began to cry in her sleep. Suddenly she sat up and screamed "NO!" her breath came in harsh gasps and she buried her face into Blizzerd's soft fur and sobbed.

(The sheer laughter from Hush along with her remark also made Ray laugh. To suggest that he might try to make moves on her when she cared for Rhys so much was a ridiculous notion. He knew that she was in love with him, or at least attracted to the boy. The fact that a werewolf and a wolf-hunter were able to get along in such a fashion was, in Ray's view, a miracle that should be let alone. He was unsure about his own future, but he knew that he wished Hush to live her life as she wanted it, and no other. When she fell asleep by Nightsong, Ray decided to let her be and go about leading others on a hunt. He faced Wicked and...he searched his memory...Remora, the golden one.)

Ray: Why don't you two join me tonight?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(It was later when he came back, Paradise having shifted to night and Hush's dreams having reached the apex in which she screamed out. Ray heard her from outside the portal, still in his lupine form, and dropped the kill he had in his mouth to go see what was happening. Wicked did similar and Remora obliged in picking up with a couple other wolves. Ray and Wicked would find Hush crying and Nightsong trying to comfort her.)

Ray: Hush, what happened?

Wicked had taken a liking to Remora, a lovely golden female from the Devorak clan. His alpha friend came over to them and requested he hunt with them. He looked towards Hush and found curled up with the pack asleep so he agreed.

As they came back from a sucessful hunt Wicked heard her scream. He dashed to her side and found Nightsong and Blizzard trying to comfort her.

Hush saw Wicked and Ray along with several others come running to her side.

Hush, what happened?

Hush looked at Ray and wiped her eyes. "Nothing just a nightmare like every other night." Hush said softly. "I didn't mean to worry you, really I'm fine." Hush replied just wanting to go back to sleep. She leaned back against Yang and her pack moved closer around her. "Good night Ray." she murmured as Hush feel asleep.

"Nothing just a nightmare like every other night. I didn't mean to worry you, really I'm fine."

Ray: A nightmare? Every night? This is normal?

(But Hush was already asleep, so no answer was forthcoming at this time. It wasn't right, though. Ray knew the power of dreams and visions. He had had his share of them, without a doubt. It had started with the Min nightmare, then there was the debacle with the sisters who claimed to be homonculus-types, unreal forms of life that are created like machines are. This Scent-Memory thing... It was settled. He would have to use it...if he could. Hush was a repository of harsh memories, surely. He wondered if he really could pick up on one. He found that picking up her scent while honing lunar energy helped. Small rays of a silvery energy rose from his body as his eyes glowed. He wanted to know... He wanted to help...)

'Oh boy... This is the perfect time to walk around here,' the boy thought as he wandered about the forest. For some reason, there was a small force that was telling him to keep on walking forwards, to come to a place that he had never seen before. "Alright, now where the heck am I?" he asked aloud, the canvas bag on his shoulder slightly swaying with the wind's blow. Ahead of him was what seemed to be a small light... A light that didn't seem to belong there. "What... the heck?" the boy muttered as he stepped forwards, squinting as if he were trying to see what the heck the source of the light was.

(It was sort of a light, and sort of a shimmering. Like water and refracted light, somewhat. At least, that's how he perceived it. It was there and not there, solid and fluid and air all at once. Daryll would feel most confused, and there was something else. As the forest swayed and the wind blew gently in his direction, two scents would penetrate his nose, if he was ready to pick them up. One was of wolves, the scent of many at once. Whether that drew him closer or farther was up to him, especially with the second scent: fresh kills. Just then, a black-pelted wolf appeared out of the thin air and light before him! What trickery was this?!)

"Yeow!" he yelped out as he leapt back, his black canvas bag landing on the ground beside him as he cushions his fall with his hands... and his rear end. The light was hypnotizing enough, the smell from it wolf-like... but this was ridiculous! There was no way that wolf could appear out of thin air like that. "Uh... Uhm... Uh.... Hi?" was all that Daryll could manage out after stuttering a bit.

"Uh... Uhm... Uh.... Hi?"

(His shout had been what gained the attention of the wolf. If he'd kept quiet, the wolf might not have noticed him. But in any case, he'd shouted and the wolf saw him and it was suddenly thinking how careless it was, leaping out of the portal without checking first. Of course, no human could see it or enter Paradise. And no one capable of seeing it could enter unless they were a wolf. Funny thing, though... This human smelled...odd. Daryll found himself being glared at by none other than Sunsetter, who was still not in the best of moods.)

Sunsetter: Hmmm... Erastor looked busy when I left... Should I go get him?

(Thinking this to himself, Sunsetter waited to see what else the human would do. He needed something to act upon, something that said either friend or foe. For now, he just stared...)

For a little bit, the boy just sat on the ground with his eyes slightly bugged out of his head. His rump hurt and he was still surprised by the sudden appearance by the other being. Slowly but surely, Daryll shifted his body so that he was kneeling on the ground... and so that he could dust himself off from the dirt. After brushing himself off, his hands went onto his knees as he kept his gaze on the other.

Sunsetter: How long is he just going to stare like that? It's beginning to annoy me...

(The black-pelted wolf had cocked its head once or twice, betraying confusion here and there, but had not moved much. Finally, Sunsetter decided to rile the human up a little and see what happened. Humans uttered the strangest things when afraid. He wondered what this odd one would say... Sunsetter's ears flattened and his eyes narrowed. He began to show some teeth and gave off a low growl at Daryll. He'd heard that humans were afraid of even domestic canines when they acted like this. His, he thought, could be rather fun.)

All that the boy let out was a slight jump backwards. After a moment, he shifted back forwards. For some reason, it seemed as if the growl was not a growl that would be more threatening, but more... testing. 'How in the world do I know that?' the boy thought before moving a bit forwards again. "I'm just going to wing it... What exactly is that?" he asked, pointing to the light behind the wolf. Daryll didn't know whether or not the wolf could speak, but he was wanting to find out... He was thinking that the other might be able to, especially since it appeared out of nowhere..

"I'm just going to wing it... What exactly is that?"

(Wolves do not necessarily speak, in the human sense of the term. That is to say, whatever a wolf says 'out loud' cannot be understood by humans. It's basically the same as Ray or Hush opening conversation with the other wolves. They speak English, the wolves speak wolf, but the gape is bridged by their mutual lupine nature. Therefore, what Daryll would perceive as Sunsetter 'talking' would have a rugged animalistic voice, but no movement of the mouth or anything. With that in mind, Sunsetter's growling ceased. He looked behind himself and at Daryll, then back and forth again.)

Sunsetter: You can see that?

Hearing the strange human yet animalistic words spoken made the boy pause for a moment before giving a short nod of his head. "Yes... I... I can see the light behind you, the one that looks like it's... a bit out of place," Daryll spoke, still sitting on his knees. His right hand raised up and pointed to the light that was behind Sunsetter.

"Yes... I... I can see the light behind you, the one that looks like it's... a bit out of place."

(There was still a growl in Sunsetter's voice.)

Sunsetter: You're not suppose to see it... It's only visible to wolves, and you... You don't seem the type.

(He was unsure, though, since Daryll did not necessarily smell of human, wolf, werewolf, or any normal scent. There might've been a small trace here and there, but all traces were distinctly off from what he'd expect. It wasn't like Ray or Hush or any of his own kind. Sunsetter grew more tense at this discovery...)

Sunsetter: Just what are you...?

"What... am I? I... truthfully do not know, myself," the boy spoke with a slight blush of embarassment on his face, "I've been wondering that myself... But... if I can see it, doesn't it mean anything at all?" he asked, shifting a bit again. For some reason, he couldn't help but feel a bit confused.

Meanwhile...

Shaleen sat at a table reading out of her textbook. She was about 10 years old. Her was softer than Hush's was but it was clear they were the same girl. She looked intently at the book she reading.

Mr. Devillin had finally stopped yelling in her sensitive ears. She was glad becauseher ears were still overly sensitive. Whenever she did something wrong he had yelled directly into her ears.

She smiled up at him to signal she was finished the chapter. She saw he was looking at her funny. She cocked her head to the side and wrote 'What's wrong?' on a piece of paper.

His eyes narrowed. "On your knees Shaleen, now." he ordered. Shaleen complied slowly confused and nervous. He set a dog dish in front of her filled with water. "Drink it!" he barked. Shaleen jumped a little. She looked at the bowl and stood up shaking her head angerily. He pulled out a bar of silver. Shaleen's eyes widen in fear and she stepped back a few steps. He shoved her against the wall and tugged down the collar of her t-shirt. "You've been bad and now you must be punished." he hissed in her ear. Then he pressed the silver unto her chest. She screamed but no sound came out of her mouth as she writhed against the wall in pain.

Hush shot up sweat soaking her body. Two in one night was too much. She decided to give up on sleep tonight.

Ying slipped out of the portal and saw one of Ray's pack and a young human with an odd smell to him. She paused. "Your alpha done whatever it was he was doing. Do you want me to get him?"

((Ray I hope that is what you looking for. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I have a friend in town and I don't see them often so if I'm a late getting back to you this week, Sorry.))

(Ray could be seen emitting a low growl from his gritted teeth as his Scent-Memory delved into what was to be learned. That horrible man... He was suppose to be helping her, but harmed her instead. Humans and their demeaning actions... How could he allow such terrible people to live? People like that were everywhere! Suffering was the incantation of the human race! That man... He burned Hush with every inch of her life, and was scarred by it in more ways than one. She and her were very alike in that sense. They both had unfinished business. As Ray bolted from his stupor, so too was Hush from her sleep. He looked over to Nameless, his sword, and then back towards the other werewolf. He approached her quietly, though not stealthfully.)

Ray: I saw your memories... I haven't suffered nearly as much as you have. All I have is a shadow of horror compared to the life of pain you lead. Humans are sick beasts sometimes...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(Does it mean anything that this human could see the gateway to Paradise? Yes, it could mean something... One possibility was wolfen heritage, though it was hard to tell if he had it or not. However, just because he could see the gate, didn't mean he was a wolf. Erastor had explained this before. It was built by a fox spirit. Other non-wolves could see it, but they could not enter. So, what did that mean here? Just then...)

"Your alpha done whatever it was he was doing. Do you want me to get him?"

Sunsetter: Yes, get Erastor. Something strange is going on here....

(Turning back to Daryll...)

Sunsetter: Now, we'll see what you are.

"Yes, get Erastor. Something strange is going on here...."

'What was the strange thing going on? The fact that he was able to see the strange light, or the fact that he was sitting there, more unphazed than anything. Whatever it was... he found it to be a bit strange, himself. Daryll couldn't help but feel as if he were being tossed into a new world all over again. His eyes half-closed for a moment before he heard Sunsetter, "Now, we'll see what you are."

"Al... Alright," the boy nodded slightly as he stood up, picking up his canvas bag and slinging it over his shoulder again.

Hush's head snapped towards Ray as he said he had seen her nightmare. He knew and understood her in a way Rhys didn't. She would come live here, she didn't care what the boy would think. She felt like kissing him.

Ying raced back through the portal to her alpha. The male was standing next to her. "Erastor someone's found Paradise. Sunsetter is just outside the portal." The wolf reported worry creeping into her warm growling voice.

She jumped up and looked at Ray. This was home and she would help protect it. She raced toward portal.

(Something in that look stirred confusion in Ray's thoughts. He expected some kind of negative reaction for having picked into Hush's very memories. But...he would not have even been able to do it unless it were intense enough to be picked up. In the short time that they had met, they two of them had become close, though. Hush was one of them, without a doubt. His own silvery eyes could not break that look of mutual understanding until-)

"Erastor someone's found Paradise. Sunsetter is just outside the portal."

Ray: Say what? Who could be here and unwelcome?

(As Hush stood up and ran for the portal, so did he, catching up quickly. His mind thought quickly, trying to figure out who would come here, uninvited. If it were a wolf, no problem. If it were a kitsune...maybe there was a problem. Sakura was always welcome, but Rish was not. And what if it were the sisters...? Both Hush and Ray would step through the portal to see Sunsetter facing off against...an ordinary human? Wait, no...)

Ray: Who...are you? You don't seem human, but...something is off.

Sunsetter: I know... He smells really strange to me...

Ray: Well...at least you're harmless enough...right?

"Well... If I was harmful, I would have attacked already, wouldn't I have?" the boy spoke in reply to Ray, a bit of a confused look on his face. "My name's Daryll... and you've been getting me to wonder what the heck I am, myself," he spoke with just a faint blush on his cheeks. Normally, he'd be able to answer another if they asked him something... but asking about WHAT they were was a different story. "By... By the by, what's in... that light behind you three?" the boy asked, raising his right hand and pointing to the shimmering glow.

"By... By the by, what's in... that light behind you three?"

(Ray looked behind him, at the portal to Paradise, and his concern grew. It was true. He could see Paradise, or the way in anyway. He turned back to look at Daryll again, his silver eyes trying to work out something. He acted friendly and he seemed unwilling to fight, so he might just be a harmless passerby. What he needed to know, however, was EXACTLY what this boy was. He decided on a test...)

Ray: That's a portal to my home, and the home of many others.

(He indicated Sunsetter and Hush in this case. It was pretty obvious, then, that this was a wolf's den of sorts, if even it was a kitsune's creation. Ray stepped out from between the portal and Daryll.)

Ray: I need to find out something about you. I control the portal myself, allowing and denying entry as I see fit. I allow wolves to pass through freely without challenge. The door is always open to them. To nearly everyone else, it is closed until I allow them through. I want you to try and enter this home of mine.

Sunsetter: But, Erastor-!

(He held up a hand, stopping Sunsetter quickly enough.

Ray: This is a test. I want to see if you can enter freely.

(He was not human, he was not of a significant amount of strength or power to detect Paradise through alternate means. He merely saw it, and had to test him to make sure. If he was a wolf, like Hush or himself or any similar strain, he would be able to walk right in and read the sign inside.)

(Sorry for the late post! I've been tied up at home with babysitting cousins and such...)

The boy nodded slightly with confidence. "Alright... I will... go into the light." For him, it was like taking a step into the unknown. Daryll didn't know what to expect, he didn't know what would happen once he stepped in. Would he be torn to bits by things on the other side? Would he- 'No, stop it!' the boy thought as he took a step or two forwards, 'He is letting me go in on a sort of a test... Now, for the first step.'

Slowly but surely, Daryll made his way forwards, towards the light. For some reason, it seemed to call to him with each step he took. It wasn't long before he screwed up what courage he had, and at a fast pace, he stepped into the shimmering light. There was the faint sound that made its way into his ears as he stepped through, a sound that was not too pleasant to hear, but somewhat comforting. Light was all around him for a moment before he was greeted with the sight... of a sign?

'Welcome to Paradise,' it said. It seemed to have been scratched out by something... something like one of the beings that he had just been invited in by. "Uhm... I see... a sign," he spoke aloud, glancing about at the rolling hills, "And... the scenary about me... What is this place?"

"Uhm... I see... a sign. And... the scenary about me... What is this place?"

(He saw beautiful rolling hills, lush woodland area, a wonderfully-lit sky...and alot of wolves. LOTS. The place had so many lupine creatures in it that one would have to wonder what they all do in here. Of course, Ray knew the answer. He knew all of the answers, since this was his place, and he was technically their leader. He was...the leader of the pack! {*VROOM! VROOM!* Heh heh...} Ray stepped in behind Daryll now, answering his question.)

Ray: It's Paradise. At least, that's what I call it. Really, it's my home, but such a large world set aside from the real one should belong to more than just me. That's why I allowed wolves to come and go as they please. That includes all of them, Hush, and...yourself.

(He let that sink in for a moment, before saying...)

Ray: The way I set this place up, you couldn't just walk in here without being at least part wolf. Can you think of any time where a wolf came into your life?

'Paradise...' the boy thought as he glanced from side to side at the scenary. It was almost like he were in a perfect postcard place, one that he would have liked to have been to in his earlier years. 'It is definitely a suitable name.' In his thoughts, Daryll almost missed Ray's question. "Can you think of any time where a wolf came into your life?"

"A... A wolf?" the boy asked as he looked down at Ray. He seemed to be a bit confused before he answered with a slight shake of his head, "No..." However, he let out a slight sigh, sitting down on the ground by the sign, facing Ray. "If I did know how I was able to enter in here myself, I'd be answering you right now about it..."
