(OOC- This SL takes place chronologically before the main SL. LEGAL DISCLAIMER: I did not create Jeopardy. Merv Griffin did, and I am in not in any way, shape or form implying that I did or that I have ownership of the series.) *The day started out just like any other typical day ... AJ was in the Courtyard, taking a break from what had seemed to be one training session after another. He had been pushing himself so hard lately that it had gotten to the point where he didn't know why he was pushing himself so hard anymore. Right now, all that mattered was that he was getting some much-needed relaxation time. He was busy drawing away, sketching whatever happened to come into his line of view. At the same time, Satoshi had a day off from classes, so he decided to visit the high school that he for four years had attended. Things had changed so much since he had last been there ... they had made several additions, such as a memorial and an auditorium, the dorms were no longer unified but instead separated into houses, gravity chambers were installed as part of the training facilities ... it was almost like AHS was a completely different school from the way it was when he was a high school student. Fascinated by this, he decides to take a look around the school and see how much it really HAD changed. Summer had come, so all the students were in their summer uniforms, so pretty much no one was the wiser that Satoshi was not a student since the outfit he was wearing was very similar to the uniforms the students were wearing, and he had the appearance of a high-schooler. Little did either of them know that they were being watched. The execs at King World had decided after the successful run that Ken Jennings had and the resulting Ultimate Tournament of Champions that it was time for them to expand the Jeopardy! franchise to other countries. First stop, Japan -- a country often looked up to for its intelligence. A black limo had been parked in the parking lot (it's a wonder no one noticed it there), and out of that limo stepped several execs and other staffers from the show. The Jeopardy! team, like the entire rest of the world, had heard of AHS, and they figured that borrowing people from such a famous place would boost ratings. They made themselves inconspicuous, hiding behind pillars and watching for students.* |

Of course it being summer and of course Komala being a real child at heart she had devised a way to keep herself cool and have some fun. Thats right the little blonde nekojin had rigged together a slip-n-slide from up on the roofs though this one was a bit different and Komala who was in strangely enough a male's school uniform sat down on a little foam board over the track. No one dared ask where she had gotten all these things they had just been accepted as fact and now Komala looking rather like a kid about to ride the biggest spine bending roller coaster ever looked down the maw of the rooftops and down at the one spot she was afraid to do. She had built a jump over the courtyard to go from one building clump to the next she could only hope she got enough speed when it happened. Okay here goes nothing, lets just hope I make it. Pushing herself off and down the track Komala clung to the foam for dear life her mind racing with every twist and turn of the track she had built. She was screaming not the blood curdling scream but the kind of adreniline through the blood look mah no hands kind of scream which was quite enjoyable. Water rushed to either side of her parting as to not get a single drop of water on her borrowed uniform until however she hit the jump. The air rushing past her felt wonderful, she had never been so alive, the sweet golden hair going up around her head being taken by the wind that was until she realized it. She wasnt going to make it to the other side. Her eyes went wide and she stood up on the board thinking she could make it in a jump from off it, of course taking one look at the distance she knew she was wrong and did her best on a landing. The foam was torn apart when it hit the ground but Komala stood steady slowly coming to a stop down on the courtyard a few beads of sweat dribbling down from her hairline, or perhaps that was just water it didnt matter too much. "YES YES OOOOOOH YEAH! Best ride ever!" She shouted and did a little dance after getting off what remained of the foam board, it was one of those happy experiances that would take a very long time to fade away, that was until she looked up and saw one of her favorite ribbons had somehow been taken off durring the fall and was now stuck in a tree branch. Climbing a tree was no problem for a nekojin like her and she was there grabbing the object in seconds a kind of noise however distracted her once the little red object was in her hands, she looked down to see men in suits...big mistake. Komala lost her balance and fell from the tree hitting the ground just behind the men who were between her and the tree, she landed amazingly on her hands and feet though all four were behind her so she was still on her back it seemed. "Uh...hello." |

*One of the King World execs, after seeing this, decides that that's just the type of energy they need to see in a contestant if they want to make this game work in Japan. After all, game shows in Japan generally have even more energetic contestants than those in America, so she seemed like a perfect fit. He turns to his associate.* MAN: I think we've found our first player. *The associate nods in agreement. The man then turns to Komala.* MAN: Good afternoon. I am from King World Enterprises, the creators of several hit game shows in America. We are looking to expand our market to Japan, and we are looking for contestants for a game show called "Jeopardy." Would you like to be on the show, on live TV, with all your friends cheering you on as they watch? *Meanwhile, another exec has already approached AJ and Satoshi.* AJ: G'day. MAN: Good afternoon. I am an executive from King World Enterprises, the creators of several hit game shows in America. We are trying to expand one of our popular American franchises, Jeopardy!, to Japan, and I was wondering if you two would like the chance to be TV stars and win some big bucks? AJ: Definitely! SATOSHI: Count me in! |

"Our first what now?" Komala over heard them talking and was more then a little bit confused so instead she walked around the king world execs a few times trying to figure out who or what they were. Okay so ugly guys in suits, standing straight...american, being weird and scouting people around here...either they were looking for porn stars or they were TV people. Of course when she stopped walking around them and actually listened she found out who they were. with all your friends cheering you on as they watch? That was when she basiclly got into the conversation paying attention again, it didnt make much sense and she asked them to repeat it. After the second or so recanting of what they said Komala bounded into the air and nodded happily excited about it all before doing a little bow. "Why of course! It would be a wonderful thing to do a game show like that! but...whats jeopardy about anyways? Do I get to drive a car off a bridge?" The TV she seemed to get on American shows seemed to be limited to crappy shows like fear factor...someone would have to educate her someday, in the meantime she was in for this gameshow. |

*The exec can tell right away that Komala first of all had never seen the show and second of all thought that Jeopardy! was one of those reality TV shows that involved eating bugs and doing dangerous stunts. The exec then assures her that there would be no danger to her.* MAN: Well, actually, you won't have to do anything like that, though if you really want to and you win you could buy a car that you can use for whatever purpose you want! All you gotta do is answer various questions, and if you win the most money, you get to come back and win even MORE money! It's a lot of fun and won't hurt or kill you. |

"Wait a minute." Komala thought hard, it took a while for her to remember that one time when they visited the united states and she watched TV...what was that gameshow that was on with the really cool music and the old guy in the suit..."Is that the one with the old guy who stands up real strait? Then he makes you guess stuff for money? And there is that giant wheel you try to make say one hundred? And has that guy with the silly voice shout out 'A NEW CAR'?" Of course Komala was thinking of the price is right but a gameshow was a gameshow to her. Giggling now she nodded and almost bounced at the thought of going on that show or any show at all really, just wait until Namir found out! oh she would be so jealous. "I'll do it! But how do you know he will pick me to come on down?" |

*The exec was a bit flustered. The show that Komala described was, of course, "The Price Is Right," which is, to say the least, much different from "Jeopardy!" Of course, she wasn't the only one having difficulty figuring out which show they were going to be on.* AJ: I'm telling you, it's the one where you guess letters, buy vowels and try to solve the puzzle! SATOSHI: No, it's not! That's "Card Sharks!" "Jeopardy!" is the game where you spin the big board and press a buzzer and yell "STOP!" and try to get big bucks and avoid the Whammy! AJ: No, that's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire!" EXEC: None of you have the game right! The blonde described The Price Is Right, the guy with the sketchbook described Wheel Of Fortune and the blue-eyed kid described Press Your Luck. This is a game where you try to answer questions and find the Daily Doubles and have the big wajor at the end. AJ: ... I thought that was Family Feud. SATOSHI: *at the same time* I could've sworn that was Lingo. *The exec falls over.* EXEC: Look, I'll explain the rules to the three of you on the way, okay? Let's go. *He leads the three of them to a limo and drives off with them inside.* (TBC- Downtown Shinjuku) |
