It had started innocent enough, one of the exposed rock formations was in Brian’s tantrums way. He was still fuming from his nearly random encounters around the campus. How he loses things important to him over and over, Friend after friend, even a lover. Were all lost to him now, all he had were meaningless powers, each time he gained a new one another loss was forced upon him.

He loosed the Tlachtga planning to cast the rocks out of his way. The chain extended and cut clean the intended target. It cut too well, a perfect slice fell from the rock, as Tlachtga returned to its spear like deception. Brian breathed raggedly, its cleaving felt good right even for more than just the cut. He pulled back again, and loosed the Tlachtga’s fore blade. The rock was cleaved again like butter another distinct edge given to the once round rock.

Brian’s eye hemorrhaged, like a blood vessel snapping in accord to a bubbling sensation deep within his emotional core. The rock couldn’t damn well fight back or oppose him, it was there for whatever purposed he deemed it for. Now he deemed it to be formed, so the blade sang in flight; Lashed, slashed, stabbed, pierced and chipped the rock was at the mercy of the chain bound spearhead.

An attack felt so right, not having living beings, or some important goal on the line determining weather it or he survived the day. The Tlachtga itself gave Brian a shock when the debris settled around the Fresh sculpture; it was horrid looking holes in improper places, angular. However at the same time it held smooth curves, and robust standing where any other rock would have simply crumbled from the tool he was using.

Despite the objects kinder garden esk stature Brian was proud of it, and he felt better for having made it. So good in fact he was already thinking about what he could honestly do if he tried to make something out of that same fire that fueled this project. Thoughts of things that were lost were shelved in appetence for the new hobbies birth in his mind.

Nanami had ben walking for quite some time and wasn't quite sure where she was going. She still held that same emotionless look on her face and a small polite smile on her lips. Her hands were neatly folded in front of her as usual. Today was a beautiful day, so she thought she would just wlk for a while to get her mind off a few things. The wind blew, causing a few strands over her hair to fall over her face as she looked to the sky. She brushed away the strands and looked back down with a sigh.

Golden brown eyes spotted a familiar figure in the distance. Her vision zoomed in on the person as he memory banks pulled up a fire showing Brian's information. A smile instantly coming to her face as she started walking toward him. Nanami wore a pair of hip-huggers that flared at the ankles with a pair of Nikes and a white tank top. She lifted her hand up in the air in a small greeting as she called his name out with a smile. Once she got there, she saw crumbled pieces of rock that looked as though it had ben hite by a sharp blade. The cuts were precise and clean.

"Hi Brian, long time no see." She said bowing politely.

He heard his name shouted, it was so odd, nobody often called out to him He turned but another subconscious note was that the voice was of a girl. He had no girls left in his life, few friends in general, and he looked puzzled seeing someone running towards him.

The final snap of the blade was done and recalled before she arrived before him. Something was vaguely familiar and he started running names though his head trying to recognize her. There she was quite cute, though most girls on the campus were cute in their own ways. Talking to him, saying long time no see, that probably was an understatement.

He looked to his side. The once round boulder looked to him, like a gnarled waterfall, the depths of the cuts made up water flowing down the twisted path. Each plateau had protrusions of round rocks. He grinned the once appraisal at a failure now became something personal. Just from the change of stance and his mental imaging it became something interesting.

Still snapping out of the artistic pride he had for his new work, he had someone standing next to him. Someone that knew him and he didn’t recollect completely. He knew if he played along long enough though she would probably reintroduce herself in some way.

“Yes, a long time. I’ve changed probably more than you’d have expected. I seem to do that unlike most of the students change, both physically and mentally..”

Nanami smiled as she nodded her head.

"I hope I didn't catch you in a sad mood like the first time we met," She said with a smile as she looked at him and reached out to touch thte side of his face with her hand. It was a mindless action, it was the same thing she had done the first they had met. He had been lying on the ground with drying tears one his face. Of coarse, he had been sleeping and hadn't thought no one would see him. Nanami pulled her hand back smiling as she looked at him. "I hope no one close to you died again...Did someone die?"

A worried expression coming over her face as she looked at him and tilted her head to the side a bit. An idea coming to her mind then as she looked at him. Perhaps mention that someoen proably died was a bad idea and could cause him to get even sadder, so, she would quickly changed the subject.

"I hoope you practiced her your swimming. Remeber when I first taught you to swim? You thought the naves of the swimming techniques were prett absurd." She said smiling.

Caught him in a sad mood, meaning he’d been depressed last time they met, it didn’t narrow his memory at all. That was the most disheartening part of it all. He was always reeling from the loss of something. He wanted nothing more than to break down again, to beat the Earth for it’s extreme unfairness. Each passing event made him a little more resentful that he ever left his prison.

He felt her hand caress his face, and he paused stunned. Did she care about him, or something? He almost leaned in but as she backed away, the sense of what he had almost done rushed his mind with images of failure, images of loss again. He was forced to back away hands holding the spear putting distance between them.

“No, nobody died, but the results the same in the end. You did find me again, in the same pit.”

He wanted to run flee from her presence talking about how they met as she taught him to swim. He remembered it all now and also remembered, that he could never have something between them. He chastised himself for thinking it even a moment, it’s impossible and she probably didn’t need such things.

“Just don’t get near me, this school and I. I just don’t have anything left.”

His artwork, and someone just being decent enough to try and be a friend to him were pulled away by distance. The Brian was attempting to set not only physical but in his mind as well. Preempting the stage where he would be here lamenting things lost or never had.

Nanami blinked once as she looked at him and watched as eh backed away from her, putting physical distance bewteen them. Something pierced her heart then, her systems recognized it as sorrow. That feeling alone made her wince. The way he was speaking was making her hurt and she probably knew he was feeling just as much pain. She took a step toward and another until she was able to grab both of his arms. Her gold brown eyes wide.

"Stop saying that, it's not true. You have fiends who care for you," Nanami said to him as she looked into his eyes. "Brian, what's wrong? Please tell me, let's talk."

A worried expression on her face while a pleading look could be seen in her eyes. Something had happened, something big. When they departed last, he seemed really happy. It pained her to see him like this, he seemed unsure, confused, and at a lost.

She came towards him with resolve, his meek attempt to use his weapon as a barrier failed miserably as she drew in. His arms gripped fur displaced by her clinging snow colored hands. He struggled futilely the strength just seemed to leave him at the mention of friends who cared about him. He couldn’t stand it, they left, they died, and they couldn’t last because he was in their lives!

The nail had been struck on the dam he kept rebuilding, each time it overflowed his body felt the effects. Already once he’d been reset to an earlier stage for the self-torment caused from the trauma of loss.

“No! My friends are gone! They’ve died, they’ve left this secondary hell, and I’ve been left here alone. What did I do wrong!!”

He shook terrified of the very thoughts running though his mind of the future losses he’d suffer. Now that he was alone, what torments would become his constant companions. Would he become a Robotic PM from the plague that visited the campus; would he now be the plaything of a god because he wanted to play chess? Or his brothers would come to finish the jobs they started?

He was 20 years of age, and he’d suffered lifetimes beyond that because of what he was, between his own hands, and between the outstretched arms of Nanami. The Tlachtga looked appeasing to return to the earth. After piercing himself the supposed owner of the blade. He wanted release, and his hands trembled at the possibilities that his own mind was providing.

Eona was wandering through the garden thinking about different things and people she still had to find and talk to see if they are still around, and most importanly to think. She was rounding a bend in the path when she spotted a pair of people one of which she had not seen in quite some time.

But something was not quite right in the picture Brian was a strong guy why should he defend him self from a not so large girl nor did she look that thretening.

"Brian," Eona said softly as she strode closer to the pair "A far as I can see, two of your friends are standing right in front of you."

She turned to the girl and said to her "Hi I'm Eona." and she clasped one hand inside the other an bowed lightly.

Eona always had a bright out look on life and she would not let anothers attitude loosen her mood. If anything She tried to make everyone around her more happy. Therefore she was almost always happy.

Nanami's eyes widened as she stared at Brian and heard the words that erupted from his lips. What he said wasn't true, and she was one to believe it. Another voice caught her attention as she turned her head to look at the newcomer. Gold brown eyes zoomed in on the female and her appearence. Her grip on Brian's arms held firm as a smile came ot her face. Nanami dipped her head forward in acknowledgement once hearing Eona's name. She would ahve bowed herself but she didn't want to risk letting Brian escape.

"I'm Nanami," She spoke just as softly and looked back to Brian. Nanami was determined to get see what had caused him to feel such a way he was feeling right now. Nanami pulled herself a little closer to him to gain a little of his prescence near her. While his attention was diverted, she would be able to hold him. "Listen to her! Brian don't push us away! We are still here and very much alive, please brain!"

She could still feeling him shaking. Nanami stared at him as she did the only thing she could do that might stop him. At the moment, she didn't care how small she was compared to him, all that mattered at the moment was to get him in a more happier mood. Nanami threw herself at Brian and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I won't let you go, you'll have to kill me first!" Nanami protested.

His trembling eyes were drawn aside, another girl they seemed such distant memories, He lingered longer on her, the weapons the coat, Spinner and the practice rounds learning skills that took normal people years to learn in moments. The fun that was to be had from such simple actions without fighting, he remembered now.

Tlachtga took the opportunity for her owner’s safety to abandon him, the obscenely fine crafted spear dropped from his hands as Nanami pulled in to him. Brian was distracted; Eona’s presence triggered the memories that had been suppressed over time. Replaced again and again by painful memories like the empty spots now filled with loss in his mind they were soon replaced by the good deeds he’d done.

That’s when Nanami sprung, she leaped onto him clutching him for dear life, and at first he was shocked. He didn’t understand it; his own mind told him that it was wrong that they should know better. He was cursed in these regards. Yet here she was, holding onto him as the insanity subsided forced out of his mind back to the dark gates that held thrall over the memories that never need see daylight.

Just the feel of someone’s presence, someone that seemed to care so deep about him, and that feeling was something he felt had been so worried about. He knew that it was this feeling he had lost and the void left behind by the Friends he once had, that now were gone.

“I won’t go. I won’t let that feeling consume you as well.”

Brian leaned down crouched, his still adjusting legs made it easy for him to hold the couched position. He must worry her so much and he never knew she cared so much. He felt blind to the people he’d helped once without thinking about it. How little did he know they’d save him? He hugged her tightly without thinking about it.

“I’m sorry.”

And he looked on to Eona, he tried a smile though it still looked hallow even with the small victories on the warpath that was his psyche. He owed her too for the coming he would have never remembered the good that the campus did in a sense offer.

“Perhaps we should all talk… like Nanami said… I owe you two an explanation.”

Eona was pleased at the result her words had on her friend. She could see the expression on her face change as sense reached him...

Eona had just added another skill to her very short list. check one psychiatrist Eona Siri had many friends and she had left them with out telling them she was leaving but it was necessary she did not want to leave but she had to she had to leave and she had failed at what she had left for. hopefully he would return and she could tell him not to leave with out her again, and this feeling is just what had driven Brian to say such harsh words.

“I’m sorry.”
he was speaking to the girl who wrapped her self around his neck however she felt she needed to explain herself to him and these words came from her mouth.

"It is to you whom I owe the apology Brian Ronin I left with out telling any one there fore you thought I had abandoned you and every one else it is I who am to blame for not being there to be you friend for that is what you are to me a very dear friend.

Eona took a seat on the grass adjusting her sword she said, "Yes we should talk."

Nanami had closed her eyes for a few seconds and was preparing herself to be throw aside. Aftre all, he wasn't himself at the moment, so she expected some sort of absurd reaction. What she felt next was a surprise, Brian had crouched down and had hugged her tight. A smile of relief crossing her face as she looked over to Eona who was now talking after Brian had finished. A small light passing through her golden brown eyes as her memory banks recorded every bit of information that was spoken. She watched then as Eona then sat down placing her sword right beside her on the grass.

Finally, the explanation she was dieing to her hear. She still had her arms around Brian's neck, though her grip loosened a little since he had crouched down, and wasn't for sure if she should let go. She didn't trust him just yet, so, sh sat down as well and was sure to keep both arms around his right furry arm. Her gold brown eyes watching him very closely for any sudden changes.

"A explanantion sounds splendid as well as a chance to talk." Nanami stated quite calmly with a bright smile on her face.

Brian sighed, as he sat down with the two girls, they wanted their explanation sooner than later. Nanami’s grip on his arm though was comforting, so were the thoughts he was associating with the action. Though like so much about himself he doubted the validity to them. He sighed, braced himself for the torrent that was the feeling he had not moments before.

His left hand moved to his right arm and cupped over one of Nanami’s hands on his arms as the process of recalling and recognizing how it all happened to reach this point hit him and the events started not with an act of power as one would expect from Brian.

“Almost a year ago, I did have someone very close to me. I guess she was a girlfriend, in a sense. However we never were really were together, though she was important to me. The school drove her away; she wasn’t cut out for this life of fighting. It was the first time I lost someone.”

Brian sighed, Nanami’s presence was turning his mind towards the feeling that he had once had with someone being close to him. Maybe just for now he could pretend…

“Still it wasn’t to stop there… From then on it was a series of meeting and being betrayed by people but there was one person I was always able to rely on, my best friend Greg green. Even as people walked in and out of my life, tried to destroy me or tried to put me down I at least had him. He’s gone now though. I guess he’s the reason I finally broke down.”

Brian sighed though thick and thin, he and Greg were always able to rely on each other. He was desperately grabbing onto an invisible composure so he didn’t just break down again for lack of his most trusted friend.

“I swear… heh… Sometimes, I think even the great healer Teo wouldn’t be able to do anything for me. “

He trailed off. His mind drifting to thoughts about Nanami’s act of compassion, as well as what that really meant to him and what it could possibly mean to her. Maybe, someone could care about him again right it was possible.

Nanami blinked a few times as she listened to Brian speak and nodded her head from time to time, to show that she was listening. Her eyes widening slightly when he mentioned losing another person close to him. During the time Brian was speak, she hadn't really noticed that his hand was cupping her's. Her attention was on Brian's words and every heartbeat that radiated from his chest. So that was what happened! So many emotions were shooting back and forth through systems, it was rather dizzying, literally. With her eyes half way open, she swayed lightly but quickly regained her balance.

"I'm very sorry for your loss Brian," She told him honestly as she looked up at him then looked back down. Nanami manged to get this whirling emotion of her's in check and took a deep breath, then releasing it slowly. Her gold brown eyes looking back up to Brian then to Eona, a small smile gracing her face. "Eona, it's nice meeting you, even though this meeting wasn't under very happy circumstances."

She was starting to lift one of her hands up when she felt another weight opn it. Her gold brown eyes blinking a few times as she looked down to look at brian's hand, smiling, she looked up at Brian.

"Brian I am truly sorry for the horrible experiences you had to go through but pushing those that care for you away, is a grave mistake. Don't fool yourself, you are never alone, not even for a second." Nanami said encouragengly with a smile as shse looked to Eona. "Right?"

Nanami sitting next to him had the most reaction to his story; she seemed to be having a rough time with it, which bothered him. And he felt her try and pull away and he wasn’t yet ready to give up the small fantasy he had developed while telling the rendition of his miseries.

However her smile set him off more, if she wanted to be released why smile. After reeling why continue to press for more explanations. She wasn’t making sense because he still had problems translating the good things he could imagine in his mind to translate to reality. To be something that there truly is to be happy about.

Eona on the other hand reacted more expectedly, a smile a nod. She knew that there could be worse things to suffer than what had broken him. He almost felt weak from her reaction, but the line of thought was cut with Nanami giving another reasoning for what he did to them was wrong.

“I know it was wrong, but on some level I thought I was protecting myself and others from me. When so much misery happens to my friends and then me. I can’t help but think that I had something to do with brining the pain on.”

He moved his hand off of Nanami’s and let out a sigh, the fantasy had to end sometime. They’d only really met in times when he was hurt, nothing could come of it, and she was probably preventing him from escaping, not the terms of endearment that floated in his mind’s ocean.

Nanami blinked a few times as she watched him lift his hand from her's and turned her eyes to look upon his face. There was a look of pain and something else she couldn't quite put her finger on. Her golden brown eyes searching his eyes for any clue on what it could be. She took a chance and reached out quickly to grab his hands, her eyes staying on him the whole time.

"You're just blaming yourself, don't do that. I'm sure whatever pain was brought to them, was not your doing," She said with a reasuring smile and a small squeeze of her hand to his. Nanami blinked once as she looked at him and turned her eyes for a brief second to look at Eona before she looked back at Brian. "Brian, your a good person, whether youu know it or not. "No one ca nchange to past Brian. All we can do now is to change what is left of the life ahead of us." she was attempting to comfort her friend but she wss not doing a very good job of it. her usual way of making things better was to just give her friend a huge hug, but instead she just took to giving a very conforting look and rummaged in her pockets for something. after a minute or two she pulled and small package from her pocket it was a bag of cookies she had brought back from america she had yet to figure out how to cook there npr to find them to purchas so she ate them sparingly but she figured now was a good time to share.

Opening the bag she handed a white chocolte chip macadian nut cookie to brien the one out to Nanami not entirly sure if robots could eat food or not.

She she nibbled on her cookie, she wished she had some hot cocoa t ohand out to but she did not so she contented herself with just the cookie.

"Now see if you do not feel better after eating some of my favorite foods." she smiled and hopoed to cookies did the trick.

They talked about the past, the future and in all that time the only thing Brian really wanted was the present he thought he deserved. He wanted his friends, alive and without the Stricken histories of illnesses, insanity, and bloodlust, without the pain. That’s what he wanted so that he could think that the girl holding his hands wanted more than attention.

He was forced to grit his teeth, he knew better than to think what he was thinking. Life wasn’t that simple, he couldn’t just pull her in and expect her to accept the very things he lamented for. And he couldn’t push her away because he couldn’t risk losing the glimmer of hope that clung in the back of his mind.

Eona provided an escape perhaps; her offering might free him of the awkward moment. Or not, he was fighting a feeling that he thirsted for like a man seeking water in the desert. He wanted it so much but as he crawled burning in the heat, he knew it would be difficult to find.

“I want to look at the now, and be able to smile about it. It’s just finding and keeping those things. Especially here at this school where power is given freely except everything you care about is in danger.”

He looked to Nanami, and then smiled at Eona’s offering wondering what she would do. He made no gesture to leave, but the thing she saw earlier the pain was still there.

Nanami smiled at him as she looked over to Eona and released her hands fom Brian's to take the cookie. She held it in her hands before she started to do the same as Eona, Nanami began to nibble upon it. Surprised by the taste, she smiled looking at Eona and bowed her head lgihtly.

"I thank Doctor, Shoraku that I am able to taste, this is truly delicious Eona. Thank you," Nanami said with a smile as she looked over at Brian smiling and waited to see of he would take the cookie that was offered. She saw the pain look in his eyes and wanted to know what caused it. Maybe the cookie would aid him. "Brian, you should really taste it, it's yummy."

Nanami smile at him in delight.

Eona saw the pain in his eye's but there was nothing that could be done pain over lost loved one's was a very hard thing to do. and she remembered how she had lost her whole family. She had decided to let the curiosity of seeing a city get the better of her and whie she was on her way to explore her whole family had been murdered and the village elder had sent her here. but since she did not want to be excesivly depressed for all the rest of her life she had shived her sad fellings off to one corner of her mind.

"Brian yu will never be able to bring back the dead but like I believe they never really die they live in you Brian." Eona leaned and with her word she lightly put her hand over is heart. and then after about a minute she took her hand away andsat back down.

(ooc I’m so sorry but life has been horrid lately, I doubt my posting ability will improve in the near future ooc)

Release, precious release and he faltered from his plan the pain settled into him in a way he had never intended. His personal problems seemed so far again as Nanami took her hands away. She took the cookie and he took his own, he didn’t savor the taste it was sweet, too sweet in his opinion.

He swallowed it harshly and sighed and wiped the crumbs from his lips with his thumb. He stared off into space he didn’t want to be okay yet. Life just didn’t make since he’d lost his friends. Still he knew that these people were his friends too, but they couldn’t replace the bonds he had formed and lost throughout his life here.

Eona leaned over and touched his heart, mentioning how even those lost would live on in him. He knew instinctively the second the words left her mouth how true it was. The things he learned from them the parts of them influencing his way of life. That’s how they would live on.

“I’m sorry… I think I should go… Eona your right. They will live on, and would be appalled at how I am right now. “

((No prob))

Nanami blinked a few times as she looked over at Brian. A worried expression as she nodded her head. It was selfish of her to keep him here, she was probably the one causing the pain she saw in his eyes. She bit her lower lip as she stared down at her hands and looked back up Brian, putting on her best smile. Nanami nodded her head to him.

"I'd best be going as well, I'll just head off to the hotsprings. Haven't been there before, at least as far as I can remember," Nanami said getting to her feet. She gave Brian one last hug before she started to walk off. Turning around, she lifted her hand up and waved a good-bye. "Bye Bye, I'll see you two around some time. Nice meeting you Eona!"

With that said, she dissapeared from sight.

Eona was not sad that everyone had left but she was glad the Brian had found out there are people still around who care about him, but Eona cared about all her friends they were more than friends to her they were family, good, if distant family they all were like brothers and sisters to her at least. she got up made herself semi translucent and walked back to her dorm room for a good nap and some hot cocoa.
