Uncomfortable heat was the only thing off setting the green beauty of the garden around Yuki. For once however he was at least grateful that it wasn't like back home. There the heat was hard enough to bear while humidity made even more hellish. At least here the sweat eventually cleared itself. Glancing ahead down the path, he saw a rather peculiar rose bush, ominous yet beautiful. Striding over to it, he inhaled deeply the aroma coming from the petals. A carefree smile spread across his face, lasting only a second before a bee landed on his nose. Fortunately he wasn't stung, but the sneeze it cause blew the petals off the rose he was staring at. Damn... Seems even nature won't let me admire her beauty. He reached into the bush a little ways, being careful of the thorns. Taking a bare spot of the stem between his thumb and forefinger, he plucked one of the lush, crimson flowers. Dazing out, he stared at it, imaging the ones he used to grow back home before his father passed on. His smile faded, slightly, his memories turning sour. Standing there for some time, he was not brought back to reality until his finger had shifted onto one of the thorns, going a large part of the way into his thumb. Ouch! And on my writing hand too... Nature must really not like me today. He licked his thumb, savoring the flavor before removing the thorns from the rose. There was no since in drawing blood from a part of his body he used that frequently twice. He parted his long bangs by his ear slightly, and slid the flower in, it held there by his thick hair and ear. Sighing dreamily, he sat down on a near by bench muttering what to write in his entry to his journal today. Today Nature's beauty forlorn, Her servants deflower her grace. Angelic flower's lustrous thorns, She no longer fills my voided space... He trailed off, half closing his eyes to shield them from the sun as he leaned his head backwards, toward the sky. The bright sunlight felt warm on his pale skin, but less of a bother than the heat that plagued what was under his clothing. Inhaling deeply, all the sweet scents around him flooded his lungs, making him sleepy. He started to doze off amongst the peaceful garden, a long needed comfort in his nervous adjustment to a new life. |

Jack glided in the air in circles, watching the student in the garden however to keep his ability to fly a secret he landed a distance away before hiding his wings. He watched from a distance in a bush arming himself with some items to pull pranks on people and he had found his target. Slowly Jack scanned each of the water balloons he held, making sure they didn't have any holes in them. As the person dosed of Jack readied to throw a balloon at him, at least if he missed he would be watering the plants. His first throw landed only a short distance past the man whom had dosed off. The second popped half way to him, and finally the third one landed right next to him on the bench. Jack then seemed to press himself flat against the ground. |

It was a peacful day at home. As peaceful as it could be anyway. He was sitting up in his room, pretending he was still home alone, reading his manga. When he heard screaming down stairs again, he hastely turned on his stereo to drown it out. Not but a few minute went passed after mom finished yelling at people on the phone before she came up and burst through the door. "Would you turn that shit down!" Yuki oblidged her order, hoping she would just leave. But today was one of those days in which he had to endure everything he hated about him self being screamed at him again. You'd think he'd be used to it, as it happened at least 8 times a week. But he wasn't. As she was taking a breath between topics, Yuki had reached breaking point. "Doesn't your Bible say that you're not suposed to be a hypocrit or something? I mean you're all holy and shit, yet I'm sure wrath isn't." The look on his mother's face wase priceless. He expected some lecture on what Chirstianty was, just like last time he made such a comment, and how it was higher than witchcraft. However, this time was not the same. She raised her hand, and slapped her son as hard as she could across the face. Yuki's head rolled on the bench, slamming his jaw into it as got hit in the dream. As if on cue, he was splaced with cool water. Semi-grateful for the snap to reality, the dream left him sick to his stomache. That was the last day he spent with his mother and he hoped to keep it that way. He staggered around, looking at the ground for a moment, regain his bearing before he realised what had happened. There were two water spots, one on him and the bench, the other on the path way in front of him. He couldn't see the one that landed behind him. He saw the way the balloon fragments landed, the one that hit him in the center, the one that did not however, was on the edge of the spot. They had obviously come from that way. "I know you're there! Show yourself!" |

She’d been up here for some time now. This tree granted her a perfect spot to oversee the garden in all it’s glory. Hidden behind thick foliage and watching the students pass by without care or even knowing that she was up there proved very entertaining. So far, she had seen a couple nearly making out with each other, a boy whom picked his nose, utterly disgusting, and a girl singing at the top of her lungs and horribly off key. Given that all of this had happened hours ago, she was becoming increasingly bored until a certain boy entered the garden and proceeded to look upon the roses. Watching him admire the blossoms she cringed as a bug landed on his nose, and bit her tongue when he sneezed. Of course, the inevitable happened as he eventually pricked his finger on a thorn, she could at least see that much. Shuddering ever so slightly at the thought, she remained perfectly quiet as he leaned his head back and seemed to doze off. Now he would certainly have one heck of a cramp in his neck if he slept like that, she was for sure. She never saw the other boy. Instead, she witnessed the water balloons flying through the air and eventually finding there mark around Yuki, stirring him form his sleep. Her eyes darted from him to where they originated from and she could clearly make out the boy pressed to the ground as if he were hiding. Kicking her white sneakered feet back and forth, it was increasingly hard not to laugh at the scenario. Melody quickly placed both hands over her mouth in an attempt to halt her giggles but it was no use. Leaning back, she let herself fall so that she was now hanging upside down from the branch she was on. It was possibly good thing she was wearing jeans, or else she would have scrapped her legs, and her white button down shirt was tucked in so it didn’t fall over her face. Highly amused laughter rang out from the tree as she hung there, her long dark pink hair hanging down in it’s twin pig tails. Eventually she calmed herself enough to sit back up and hop down from the branch she was on to one a bit lower. Poking her head out from the foliage, she smiled brightly at Yuki looking down on him with vivid golden eyes, not knowing there were a few leaves stuck in her hair from the tree. Not that she would really care anyway. “Teh-heh… you should thank him for waking you or else you would have had a horrible pain in your neck.” |

Jumping in shock, Yuki looked at the girl above him. It seemed watching him sleep had become a pass time of several students while he was vacationing away from reality. Upon first glance she was rather cute too, causing him to blush. Bad time to be on the unsociable side. "Umm... Thank you." He wanted to add that there were other reason he didn't want to, but didn't like unleashing his past on others. He smiled shyly, hoping that he didn't get to ruffled in his sleep and blushed a little more deeply, off-setting his pale skin and hair. My name is Yuki. Um, what's yours?" Bowing out of politeness and cursing himself for sounding like an idiot, Yuki muttered under his breath something to help him get his confidence back. Rather faithful in witchcraft, he tried he mental was begging for confidence to help him not make a fool of himself. Quick to draw attention away from himself, Yuki decided to gather information on the one who attacked him. Did you see who threw those balloons at me? I'd really like to return the favor. He cracked his neck, hinting at the help the prankster gave him. He bent down and picked up a few of the thorns from his rose. Knowing what direction at least all he really needed was a visual to hit him thanks in part to what they cursed him with. With a slight chuckle he glanced in the direction then back to the girl, still blushing slightly. He needed friends, as he never had any outside the occasional fellow outsider. This didn't go well to helping his social skills. He would first, however, need friends before he could do anything to improve them and really hoped that at least one of these two peoples who watched him sleep today (stalkers :P) would be as kind as to at least give him a chance. |

“You’re welcome!” She kept the smile as he introduced himself and she swore that he just blushed. Maybe it was just her over active imagination. Even as he bowed, she watched him, a curious glint in her eyes. Melody giggled lightly to herself and slipped down to yet another branch before jumping down to the ground. She stumbled forward a couple paces before straightening herself and brushing off the back of her pants. Looking to Yuki she bowed quickly, mimicking his own. “It’s nice to meet you Yuki, I’m Melody.” Lifting up on her tiptoes, she looked around the area where she had seen the other boy. Puckering her lips, her brow furrowed slightly. It had been easier to see him from above, but down here, the flowers were so tall he seemed to be out of sight. Lowering herself she pointed her finger out in the general direction she had seen him. “I think he’s out that way.” She didn’t think much beyond that. Looking to Yuki she realized he was taller than her, but not by much. Something about that was rather comforting to the girl. It wasn’t often she didn’t have to look up to people from her minor height of 5’5 after all. Idly taking a piece of her hair, she twirled it around her finger and tilted her head to the side, looking at Yuki all the while. She didn’t mean to stare, and eventually she tore her gaze from him and to the flowers that were all around. Eventually she made her way over to the roses he had been admiring earlier. “It’s hard to imagine something so pretty can hurt you so easily isn’t it?” |

"Yes, they are deadly...in fact I know one person who is exactly like a rose. He tried to kill my friends and I..." Ronin looked at the two and smiled slyly. "Am I interrupting something here?" He shrugged and looked from one to the other, then at the flowers around them. If you could imagine it, it seemed to be here. Like a garden of pure colors. He moved over to a Cherry Blosson tree and smiled. "Ahh...my favorite..." ((ooc:ok, so it is an EXTREMELY SHORT POST!!!!)) |

Yuki couldn't help but smile. Why worry about the prankster when he had company like this? He tightened his grip in nervousness, feeling the thorns trying to pierce his skin. His eyes widen a little as had all but forgotten them and dropped them to the ground with a start. She was so happy acting too. It was odd for someone like her to even think of socializing with him, the oddity. This place must be much different. N-nice to meet you too, Melody. Again, he cursed himself for speaking. If he couldn't stop his lip from shaking, why bother using it? His moment of beating himself up was stopped by the sound of footsteps down the path from them. After his second line, Yuki clued in on his smile, mostly from seeing it in far to many mangas. Instantly he felt embarrassed and his face turned even deeper scarlet. And he spoke just a little faster. "Oh n-no. Nothing like that." Yuki wasn't used to so much attention. Accusations, though in a far more serious manner, he was used to. But not so much positive attention. Not since he moved in with his mother...(insert mental awkward silence here) But he did see a point in the topic. All beautiful things seem to be like that. "All beautiful things are like that. It attracts things that want to taint it. Its thorns are the only way it can protect oneself. The alluring beauty of a rose seems to lie in the irony of how it's among the most beautiful flowers, yet it can pierce the flesh of those whom are to taken in that beauty." Yuki pulled his hand out of his pocket and held it open to the two in front of him. His thumb served as proof of his words, which too will probably draw more attention to him. He couldn't but help saying more than one sentence in a less than poetic way; just another thing he was always made fun of for. All of that was probably the reason he was shocked as to why so many people had approached him today. ((OOC- S'okay Chrono. I like your profile though. Angel Sanctuary rocks so hard.)) |

Melody tilted and turned her head at the sound of another person. Looking to Ronin, she was mentally trying to figure out what it was about him that seemed a bit off. Of course, this caused her to stare again but it didn’t take long for her to piece together what it was after seeing his wings. Blinking a couple times, she realized this was the first time she had seen an angel or a creature that resembled one. Of course, she remembered the boy on the roof and the girl but they just didn’t scream it so blatantly as he did. She laughed again when he asked if he were interrupting something. All the two were doing here was talking and there was always room for more people when it came to conversation. Shaking her head, she didn’t feel a need to repeat anything that would mirror Yuki’s own response and instead she cast her eyes back down to the roses. Now why someone would want to taint something so beautiful was beyond her understanding Melody knew the world could be a cruel place but she was of the chipper sort and didn’t see it that way. Her eyes shifted from their gold color to a green that soon darkened to blue. Carefully and steadily, she reached a hand down and cupped it under one of the buds then bent down to smell it only to come back up with a wistful smile on her face. Letting the flower go she looked back to Yuki as he held out his hand and showed his injured thumb. As usual, she didn’t think to much about her actions before she did them. Walking closer to Yuki and taking his hand gently she looked down at the injured thumb as pink eyebrows furrowed slightly at the sight before looking back up to him. “Oh…then… I suppose the key is to keep your wits about you and not become so disillusioned with something’s appearance to miss what’s really there in front of you. Otherwise, you’ll only end up hurting yourself. Make sure you clean that cut when you get the chance, don’t want it getting infected you know.” Melody knew better than to judge things by appearance alone. Being the butt of jokes seemed to be her niche when she was younger; thankfully, it hadn’t happened here, not yet anyway. She let his hand go then, a light giggle leaving her as she turned to look between the two boys. It was then she realized her lack of a social life and found herself feeling rather happy, as if she wasn’t already, for being around such pleasant people. That thought out of the way she realized that neither of them had introduced themselves to Ronin. “Where are our manners? I’m Melody and this…” She rocked back on her heels, rocking her hands behind her back, and gestured to the side by tilting her head again towards Yuki, with a grin. “…is Yuki.” |

Ronin himself laughed a bit when the girl began to. It was unusual to see a person that was so cheerful. Especially considering what had happened before coming to AHS, this was kind of strange behavior for him. But then again, AFTER coming to AHS nothing really good has happened yet...save him finding his friend again. But that is about the best thing that has happened.
He turned back to the two and smiled. "Nice to meet you both. My name is Ronin Natsumura." He bowed respectively and walked over to the two of them. "So why is it that he needs the cut treated? If he enjoys pain then the cut will be fine or it will get infected, but if it does and he enjoys pain. Then he will be happy with it infected." Ronin opened his right hand and a crystal-like dagger appeared in it. He grabbed the hilt and ran the blade across his left hand's open palm. Blood glittered as it came out and his stern expression did not change. No flinch. No wince. Nothing, he simply stared at the wound. Then Ronin released the dagger and it disappeared. Grabbing part of his shirt, he tore off a piece of his sleeve and wrapped it around the cut, halting the blood flow. "I just find it amazing what you can do when the feeling is completely gone from your body. I just...don't seem to feel anything anymore. People keep telling me that I need to act human...but how do I act human when I can't feel anything." |

Yuki blushed even more so as Melody had taken his hand. He wasn't used to such a gental touch anymore. Not since the old days. The blood started to drain from his face though, as she genuinely seemed to care about his well being in this. That was anothering thing to throw him off. He wasn't much used to people actually caring either, but this time the response was not in another blush, but a warm grin. "Thank you for your concern... I'll wash it out when I return to my dorm tonight." After the words left her mouth, did his over active imgination start hinting at things. A double meaning perhaps? As he was finding him self quite alured in her kindness of her changing eyes. Yet another thing he decided not to question, though he figured it couldn't be any wierder than what was up with his. After she introduced them, he bowwed politely, maintaning eye contact. "Please to meet your aquantence Ronin." After his comment about liking pain, Yuki's jaw dropped. What kind of telepathy was this? This was not a well known fack about him. Even his own mother though all of his scars were from the surgery, not noticing their increase in number. But for a complete stranger to so blaintly state it hit him as a shock. He looked at him, drawing the line across his flesh, noticing how easily it cut into it. He was to cowardly to use something like that. He liked the control on how deep he cut with his dull blade in his pocket, but all of this aside, he though it best to not reveal his liking to pain. "Just because I'm amused by a rose's ironic thorns does not mean I like pain. And I, by all means, can still feel it." By now, his face had drained completely, the pale skin that was their earlier when he was alone now resided there again, almost seemingly paler with the topic at hand. He reached up and stroked his bangs nervously, making sure his scar and eye were not visable. His mind going from his eye once again, to Melody's shifting eyes. It was not moments later that he caught himself staring at them. Quickly turning his vision aside, he spied another flower floating in a small pond by the Sakura tree. Nudging his head in that direction, he desided to change the subject. "An even more ironic flower, they say the most beautiful lotus grows from the red mud of a recent battle, a symbol that beauty thrives even at the end of despair." |

Melody tilted her head a bit, as she looked at Ronin with a wave of confusion passing through her causing her eyes to shift orange. Yuki never said anything about enjoying the pain. She surely hoped that wasn’t the case either. She wasn’t too sure that she would understand that aspect of his person. As far as the cut becoming infected, well, she didn’t want him to contract some sort of strange disease from the open wound that would kill him. All she ever had was his best interest in mind, which could have been said for any person she encountered. Considering she had just met the boy a matter of minutes ago she was running off her own instincts, thus justifying her reasoning, or so she thought. What Ronin did next both shocked and frightened the girl. First off, Melody couldn’t tolerate blood, not a lot of it. Secondly, Ronin had blatantly cut himself. There was no accident in that action, she saw it plain as day as if he had planned it. All of this caused the girl to whimper quietly, even as he wrapped his hand up. The old saying out of sight, out of mind wasn’t necessarily true this time. By now, her eyes had turned red out of a pure emotion that she could only describe as fright. This Ronin character was crazy, and she suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable in his presence which was probably why she had gone quiet so suddenly. Sweet distraction came on Yuki’s part as he decided to change the subject. Her crimson gaze shifted to the flower of which he was speaking. Still on guard, she walked over to the small pond, squatting down near the edge to get a better look at it. It was a meager attempt to take her mind off what had just happened. She could honestly say she had never seen a flower like that in her travels. Thinking on Yuki’s words only brought up some of her own thoughts, or for a better term memories. If someone were to get in Melody’s head, they probably would have gotten lost among the random ideas and inconsistent thought patterns the girl had, leaving them to wonder just how she could function in the first place. Either way, it reminded her of something. “That sounds a lot like what my father says.” Still squatting near the pond, she tilted her head a bit, her eyes drifted from the intensity of red to orange before stopping to a blue green in color. Biting her bottom lip, she was trying to recall exactly what the phrase was. “I think it was something to the effect of: In order to see the sunshine in the end, there has to be rain in the beginning.” She went silent again. How the girl had managed to relate the two phrases would probably remain a mystery to everyone but her. In any sense the flower represented the sunshine and the battle the rain, but she wasn’t too sure that the other two would see it that way. |

Ronin looked back up at the two smiling with an evil grin. Isn't it funny Kakuzi...how easily I can manipulate Ronin's body? This is PERFECT!!! Thischick must think that he is a total nutjob by now! No Hokudo...you must apologize for what you have done, to both Ronin and to these two people. Who's gonna make me? You!? Don't make me laugh, you couldn't hurt a fly! Let Alone me...after all, you ARE the weakest one of us all. You shall BOTH be quiet! I shall handle the situation further. And fix the mess YOU caused...Hokudo! Thank you Ronin, for settling this argument. It is as much your Fault as it is his for you did not try and stop him. You must at least put up a resisitance...even if it is a futile one. Most battles in history werewon because the little guy stood up to someone who outmatched him. Haven't you ever heard of David and Goliath? Ronin stared at the two with the smile gone, replaced by a stern one. He stepped over to them and bowed once again. "I apologize for anything that Hokudo has done to offend you. Believe me, if it were up to me I would rid myself of him completely..." He bowed one more time just for courtesy and turned to gho look at another set of flowers opposite the two. For the next few days I will command MY body, and shall not allow either of you to interfere in my affairs. That INCLUDES trying to make me look crazy Hokudo! Have you looked at yourself lately Ronin. You have three different personalities that YOU created! YOU ARE CRAZY!!! That may be so...but there is no reason to get others mixed in with my personal troubles! And believe me...I would get rid of you in the blink of an eye if I was able. |

That was different. Throughout Yuki's watching, her eyes had never turned that color. To him, he found glory in the color red, but if he had to relate red to an emotion, there were no positive ones. And as if that wasn't enough, how quiet she became surely pointed out that something upset her. He was relieved to hear her speak again, on the topic of the lotus blossoms; even more so when her eyes changed back. Her words made sense, though it was really not how he saw the flower initially. He new of it's importance to several eastern religions, but never gave it much thought beyond his statement and that. Melody's, however, gave him something for the flower to represent in his mind besides irony; something that just made more sense. He tilted his head to her and smiled. "Hope... That symbol of this flower is better than the rest." To busy thinking and speaking with Melody, Yuki was unable to notice the evil smile on Ronin's face. He was broken from his trance when he spoke however. This was just a slight scare to him... The first question to come to his mind was who Hokudo was. Then a number of scenarios hit him. The first one was based on his beliefs: possession. But that was never done so openly. He had never heard of a spirit who would do anything to attract that sort of attention. Next to come into his mind was alter ego; more probable and dangerous than the former. The danger was less to the host than possession, but unlike possession, there is not time-limit or mission to be done. Another ego could take control and easily cause whatever destruction the host is capable of at his leisure. Things didn't quite seem that bad though. While controlling, assuming another ego was to blame, there was a sharp object at his disposal and all he did was try to scare us with self-harm. What ever it really is controlling him must have a personal grudge against him. This how ever did not make it any safer. If such a grudge runs deep enough, the people close to this angle could suffer. Yuki was pretending not to have noticed the possible danger when he brought about his reply. "Who... is Hokudo?" Trying not to sound either informed or scared, though suspicious. He is reminded of the term "shaken, not stirred" here; Shaken, or scared with out stirring or showing panic. Since coming here, he's met a total of two people and been bombed upon by a third. However, all things about high school aside, he never expected going to one where everyone could kick his ass with the modifications on him. And seeing Hokudo, Ronin or who ever the hell he was today gave a motive for here for people to want to. However, he also found someone who could be genuinely caring with a person she just met, even if it was he. No longer the only oddity, the thought hit him. Now that there was someone more extreme than him, the worst thing he could do would be to be like the people that always ignored or neglected him. "Never mind, who he is doesn't matter... You're welcome to join us, Ronin." ((OOC- Wow... Luckily I picked up on your post, Chrono, but next time you could you please (pretty please with sugar on top) note whether or not that convo is in his head or out loud. I role-played that it was in his head as that was the most viable option, but I wasn't quite sure. Thank you. ^^" )) |

“Hope…” She nodded her head slowly. It made perfect sense and it was such a nice thought. She too was occupied with looking at the flower to notice the grin that crossed Ronin’s face. Had she seem it, however, she would have only questioned his sanity more. In the meant time, she was thinking more on the prospect of hope. To hope was to have faith, but in what? It wasn’t often Melody questioned her own reasoning, but for once she was. She knew that if she only had negative thoughts that she wouldn’t be able to have any attainable dreams, so she let it go. The answer would come to her, one way or another. Her attention shifted to Ronin for a moment when he spoke. She had to wonder just who this Hokudo character was and why Ronin was apologizing. Having one of her more ditzy moment her face went blank. This was only because she was allowing herself to think for once. The only conclusion she could come up with was that Ronin had M.P.D. (multiple personality disorder) and that Hokudo was one of the random people in his head. Just like that, she felt sorry for him. It must have been hard living with something like that. After Yuki finished speaking, she felt it wouldn’t hurt to add in on it. “Yes Ronin, come join us, the more the merrier.” Aside from the eeriness of Ronin’s actions, she didn’t want to write him off just yet. Melody was a kind girl, very open and accepting, so she wouldn’t judge him. Knowing fully well that there was a chance it was uncontrollable, wasn’t his fault really. Looking from Yuki to Ronin she smiled brightly and stood up straight again. Now she got to play the question game, and hoped they would play along and amuse her. There was great fun to be had in it, and they would get to know each other a bit better. In her mind, they were already considered what one would call friends. Not to mention there was no need to let the conversation die just yet. “So… what houses were you guys put in?” (( >_< cruddy post.... sorry)) |

He Turned back around at the question about Hokudo. The boy seemed intrested in finding out about him so he almost answered the question. He was going to until Yuki claimed that it didn't matter. But Ronin held his hand up in front of him. "No, you seemed you wished to know about who Hakudo is. So I'll tell you..." The angel sighed and took a few steps back over to the duo. "Hokudo is a personality I created...just before I was...killed...I will not go into the details of how I died unless asked to. But this lady does not seem to like such stories that involve any blood, so I will not. I created hokudo just before I died, to take all of my pain away. And he did his job, he took the pain for a little while." Ronin glared seeming out into space...his own little world. "The pain was too much, even for a thing as simple as a personality. The pain soon consumed him, now he takes control to ruin my life and inflict pain upon himself and others! But I did create another personality. To combat Hokudo I created Kakuzi. He is pretty much the opposite of Hokudo." Then the girl even agreed that he should come join them. He raised his eyebrow at this turn of events. He had half expected to be shunned. When asked about his house, his answer was plain and simple. "I was placed in Suzaku." ((THERE!!! I WIN!!! I HAVE THE SMALLEST POST!!!)) |

Yuki wasn't expecting anything after he dismissed his own question. He was busy pondering what to say next to Melody when Ronin spoke up again, explaining in detail what he had asked. Yuki, was shocked at first, but then found it not so odd. Having no experience himself, his mind went back to his manga. First off, there was Sakura and Inner Sakudra from one of his favorite series: Naruto, followed by Kenshin and Battosi, though the seemed more synchronized. His thoughts then drifted to Confidential Confessionals. He could have swore he saw something in there, but couldn't quite recall. After asked his house, he hesitated to reply, recalling his first day on campus. The memory stained his mind after what happened just a few moments ago. He had done the same thing with in hours of being here, the freshest mark on his arm. He bowed his head solemnly and sighed. It really was a disgusting habit. He might as well be an alcoholic or druggie the avid way he cut. He blamed those thoughtless bustards that were his peers his whole life, but it really wasn't there fault. He chose this escape over any other. He must now reap the reward or likely scaring away the one who cares. Regretting his past even more, he lifted his head to hide it and enjoy the company while it lasted. Waiting hor Chrono, he pondered more of his house. The student with the bleach came to mind. Instantly the nausea played at his stomach then vanished as he chuckled about it. Hearing the angel amongst them speak, he though it would be safe to speak up. "I'm in Byakko. What house do you belong to, Melody?" Under his normal thought, with out him even knowing really, he was wishing for her to reply the same. That way, even if she did run, he would likely see her again. He wanted so badly to have never done it at all, just to keep one friend with him. Though he had, at least there was a 1/4 chance he'd see her for a chance to make it up to her. Feeling his cards, he fealt Fate owed him one, and the thought became conscious. At this he had a slight blush but covered his face to hide it. Now was not the time as they would just find him weird as there was nothing even semi awkward going on amongst them to cause it. Yet still, his cheeks grew redder beneath his hands and hair. He quickly lowered his head again, staring at the ground like he does whe he walks. He suddenly wished for a hoddie that said "I'm with Stupid" and pointed at itself. Another chuckle escaped him and he looked up to Melody, laughing at himself and waiting for her house. |

Maybe there was a security in not knowing too much about a person. It left a lot to imagination, and often granted one free of the burden of knowing. There would be no such luck this time however. Ronin seemed not to mind explaining exactly whom this Hakudo was. Her assumptions had been proven right, it was another personality, but she didn’t have time to congratulate herself on the victory. Instead she felt a small twinge of sorrow for the boy. True, she had a weakness when it came to the sight, or even the thought of blood, but at least he sparred them the details of his death. Melody couldn’t find herself understanding what it would be like to die. For someone who loved life as she did, dark thoughts such as those never crossed her mind. Holding that same genuine smile she nodded when Ronin declared house to be that of Suzaku. Unfortunately, her attention drifted a bit as she started imagining the fiery bird. It’s wings spread out in a bright blaze of light. Such daydreaming wasn’t unusual, but it did make for an amusing sight. Imagine the girl sitting there with glassed over eyes, perfectly still, for once, and a blank expression on her face. Thankfully, Yuki proved to pull the girl from her silent reverie and free her mind so it would start working again. Given that she had been squatting the entire time, the shock of facing reality once more sent her tilting back a bit as she lost her balance. All of which resulted in her landing back on her rump with a ‘oomph’ escaping her lips. Looking to Yuki she was beginning to realize that he blushed rather often. It was actually quite adorable, to her. Lucky for him she wasn’t the type to worry about masculinity, for whatever reason. Recalling his words she nervously scratched the back of her head, a broad grin crossing over her features. Scatterbrained to a slight degree she had to think, what house did she belong to? It only took a second or two, but it was possibly a bit longer than she should have taken to answer such a simple question. With an effervescent squeal she suddenly realized that Yuki resided in the same house as she. “I’m in Byakko too...teh-he!” With that she clasped her hands together and jumped up enthusiastically, pigtails bouncing back behind her. Turning her full attention to Yuki her eyes were incredible big at the moment and dancing between the shades of orange and gold. Needless to say the girl was overly excited, but about what? “Oh this is great! I don’t know anyone in my house.” This statement was accompanied by her shaking her head back and forth before stopping and letting out another squeal as if she had realized something. “Yay! I’m so happy, we can have sleep overs and.... and... you simply must let me cook for you! It’ll be great fun, what do you think?” |

'One in four,' he told himself mentally, 'One in four...' He was hoping that his turn for luck would extend beyond this one meeting. After all, just today, he met two people that not only didn't detest him, but were willing to talk like he was a person, not a creature. Now if only meetings like this weren't uncommon. Then he heard her answer. He heart jumped up, clogging his throat when he went to express his joy. It was a good thing too, had he been so quick, he would have missed something that made him even happier. She too was excited. This not only surprised him, but put a glimmer back in his one revealed eye. Then his hope fell… Her as a roommate was not a considerable option to him. She seemed so innocent and detested blood, so how could he room with her. It would seem like a sin to taint what high expectations she had for him on his putrid and scarred body. He couldn't let her see something like that just yet... but then again... Maybe she could understand. "Umm... That would be nice... He cursed himself again, blushing like no other. That was about as smooth as unprotected sex wit ha porcupine... He quickly regained his posture and grinned, a much nicer recovery planned. "I would love to try your cooking though. All I got slash can cook is my cupboard full of Ramen..." At his last comment he blushed again, though not part of the plan, it was the truth. He could burn coffee even; 'sucked muchly in the kitchen. After a few moments pondering how much to reveal, he decided it best no to shout in case of all who were listening. He leaned in and whispered in Melody's ear as softly as he could while still remaining audible. I'm in 313 if you want to have dinner sometime, I'm always there or here it seems. He leaned back a shy look on his face as he took a few steps behind him and tripped. Hastily, he got back up and bowed. Sorry... It seems he could never stop being nervous with people these days, despite his best intentions. He felt all his sense around him stutter a little… He felt like a character in one of his mangas, unable to keep his posture strait on the biggest meeting of chance. He could only barely get across his intent with many excess blunders and it was really beginning to irritate him. Could this be a crush or something? He doubted it, granting to the blame to lack of friendly people where he was from. But this didn’t help him in the least stay calm around her, like he was so used to being. Blind-sided by emotion and nothing short of embarrassing, he concluded that tonight would be a new Yuki’s birth. One that could socialize and not fear people. This was the Yuki he would struggle to become in order to be able to find happiness here… And keep friends like Melody… |

She couldn’t tell who was more excited, she or Yuki. It was one thing to be lucky enough to meet someone whom seemed like a decent person, it was a complete other to actually know that person was located within walking distance of your own room. Well that was even better. Even if were a bit premature Melody was already seeing Yuki and she being great friends, with that thought in her little head she had only one more thing to worry about. Say yes… A minor mental plea on her part. The girl had a need to feed people for some strange reason. Then again, it could have been a subconscious attempt to get recognition for something she was good at. Either way she was ecstatic when he agreed allowing her eyes to settle back to their normal gold color. She wrinkled her nose at the thought of a cupboard full of ramen noodles. Given she liked them; she needed variety in her life. In other words, if life gave her lemons, she’d not only make lemonade, but also lemon meringue pie and use the peeling as garnish. Yes, she was that good and proud of it. She froze slightly when he leaned closer to her. Luckily, it wasn’t enough shock to miss the message but it was enough to cause her cheeks to flush the slightest bit. It could have been that he was in such close proximity to her, and she wasn’t used to that. On the other hand it could have just been the whisper itself, his breath tickled her skin and sent a minor shiver down her spine, not that it unpleasant, just unexpected. Melody never noticed the stumble, she was too busy gathering her thoughts again, and oh, how easily they were scattered. Grinning, she nodded simply letting him know she got the message loud and clear, so to speak. “So what do you like to eat?” Melody could make anything, and if she didn’t know how there was always a cookbook or two that would tell her. What a person liked to eat probably didn’t seem like an important question, but it was part of her ‘I’m getting to know you so I’ll ask questions until I’m satisfied’ plan. Maybe it wouldn’t backfire. It had been so long since she had been in a regular school. Being on edge the moment she had stepped on campus, she had to wonder if Yuki too was a bit nervous. That would explain his mannerisms, but she wouldn’t ask him that. It could have been deemed a far too personal question for someone whom she’d just met. No, the easy, platonic, noninvasive queries seemed safe for now. |

Jack had just watched things unfold for a long time, chuckling at the pranks he could have played. The conversations they had very interesting none-the-less. However part way through he fell to sleep had met a very painful awakening. When He awoke he found he had fallen to sleep on a hornets nest and was now covered in many different stings. This was time for him to leave, he needed to get treated for each of the things so he jumped out reavling himself shortly as he spread his leather like wings and took off. |

((EDIT- You posted while I was typing... Oh DRAT! I don't think it will effect IC to much, so do you mind if I just leave my post as is?)) 'Was that a blush?' He thought to himself, eyeing her face after recovering from his fall. This led him into a trail of inward questions about her being nervous as well. It sounded like bliss to him almost. A person being as shy as him was something new. He smiled dazedly at the thought, thinking more deeply into the subject. If she was as nervous as him, then he didn't have to worry as much about ever mistake he made. He noticed this from his lack of attention to important details when in a state such as that and how anyone else's mistakes are always covered up by his own blunders. It seemed amazing to him that he could make someone shy in a good way, not out of fear for what he is, but out of fear of not getting to know him. The latter sounded so much cuter and he couldn't help but let his cheeks redden further. Upon further pondering this thought, the blush also could have been happiness at his reply. If this was so, maybe she like him as much as he did her.. This could be the makings of his first real friend... then a rather disturbing thought hit him, originating from his manga sitting back in the dorms: Chobits. It did seem possible; could there be someone whom would find him special? He quickly threw away this thought. No since in getting his hopes up about people; fate had shown that it didn't like Yuki that much. Upon hearing the question of what food he liked, he had to halt himself. There were a lot of things he liked, but so many had memories attached to them that it almost didn't seem worth it. His mother, though fearing him as a sign of her sins, found compassion in the oddest places. There were holidays and such, but he recalled one night unparticular that she almost seemed reasonable for no reason at all. It was night she had found some Thai sauce in the foreign foods area of the market, and something spur of the moment clicked, and she mimicked a recipe from the Chinese place they had always gone to when she worked to late to cook and they were actually hungry. Not knowing really what to call it, it seemed like it was a sort of spicy chicken, served in a few leafy green vegetables and steamed white rice. But there was no since making him home sick when he finally found something more that that place. Next to come to mind was his father's favorite dish: Hot Cakes Syrup and Coffee. Again not wanting to feel home sick or remorseful, he shifted on to something he found out about himself in New York when he awoke after the incident. Ironically enough, the man who found him owned a small Japanese Restaurant and it seemed that ever since then, he had an inevitable weakness for sushi, and he couldn't help resist but to blurt it out. Heh... I'm a little exotic in foods... I like sushi with rice and Teriyaki sauce. He let off another small blush, hoping she wouldn't think him to weird. |

Ronin smiled as he noticed what was going on here. And the entire time that Yuki kept messing up he kept wanting to laugh. smooth...real smooth... He bowed to the two one last time and turned walking away. "I would come to this little dinner party. But I have two problems with it. 1: I have no idea if a Suzaku would be allowed in your house. 2: You two look like you want to have a nice small dinner alone anyways." Ronin shot off in a rush, deciding not to wait for a reply from either of them. As he flew off he felt something wrong with him. whats this feeling...anger...sadness...what...damnit...I thought that after I died my emotions would have died along with my body. Oh well, I guess I just might need some time to myself...but that sushi did sound good though. Maybe I shouldn't have left so fast. |

Sushi… she could make that. Rice was a snap too, and teriyaki could be bought at the store. Mentally she was doing a check list of things she would need for such a dish. Maybe a better word for it was shopping list. It didn’t matter much, Melody was occupied for the duration of a minute or so. That was rare. Pulled once more from her thoughts she listened to Ronin. She didn’t see a reason why he couldn’t go in the Byakko house, if he were invited. Then it dawned on her, all too late though. She hadn’t invited Ronin to this. Melody had been so excited in knowing that there was someone from her house that she would know that she never stopped to think about the other person their with them or their feelings. “Oh no…” Watching him go she felt a twinge of guilt fill up in her. She hadn’t meant to be so rude, she just got a little over excited, that’s all. It was this that sent her in to one of those rare moments when she felt sad. Her eyes took on that blue green hue once more but her face was far from happy. A small pout coupled with a slight frown found its way to her features, a painful expression for the normally chipper girl. “I feel just awful. I didn’t mean to be so rude…” It wouldn’t last too long. It never did. She’d pout, feel bad for a few minutes and then let it go as always. She was starting to do just that too as the thoughts of making it up to the angel boy crossed her mind. That seemed appropriate. She could always find him and make it up to him, right? Hopefully, she hadn’t hurt his feelings beyond the point of forgiveness in her absent minded mannerisms and babble. Looking to Yuki the trademark grin was back on her face. Grin and bare it, she was good at that, and acting. “I can make it up to him later, maybe. I hope…” Shaking her head, she focused back on the topic at hand, namely the sushi and her questions. “Exotic’s good and sushi sounds great. So then, Yuki, how did you end up at AHS? Did your parents send you or was it self inflicted?” |

Yuki gave a slight pout as well at Ronin's words. Always being one to over analyze things, it was probably that he whispered the part he didn't want to many people bigger than him knowing. Hearing Melody's confession on being rude, he hadn't meant to make her feel sad. A pout even looked out of place on her. He slouched a little and wanted to say something to make her feel better. They would have to find him again, that's all. As soon as he saw her grin again his hopes lifted. She had one gift that made him envious: the ability to let things just bounce off. 'I guess it comes with one's origin,' he thought on the topic of his own lack of ability. And his mind drew blank on the topic of that when she asked. His heart sank when she asked him of his own. The question seemed so innocent on the surface that it would be rude of him not to answer and yet to answer would reveal things he didn't really want to bring up. His mind went back to the dream he had earlier. That was on reason he left... But the money came from his Father... who died in order to leave it to him. That didn't sound like the happy sort of topic to bring up now that she just got back to being happy again. Well there were other options to the question, he just needed to over analyze like normal and he'd find them. It took only a few seconds and he came up with his hatred for normal schooling. That would work as a truthful answer with out sounding depressed like. "Well, I disliked normal schools. I was a freak there and it was rare for even another outcast of the school to like me, so I came here and already I've got friends." Feeling as though he'd been asked the most questions, Yuki left only a slight pause after his last statement before adding in a question of his own. "But why did you come here, Melody?" It was rather hard to get information about people when he was the only one answering questions, so he had to. His mind quickly skimmed over any other questions, but a lot of the more interesting ones would have been aimed at the angel. He was more than a bit curious how he escaped criticism with something so obvious. But now was not the time to think of him, and he turned his thoughts and eyes back to Melody. |

Listening to Yuki made her realize the two had something else in common beyond the sharing of a house. Normal school hadn’t been too kind to the pink haired girl at all. It wasn’t so much the school system as it had been the students who went there. Children as they were found a way to be so cruel at times. However, she wouldn’t think on that right now, not if she could help it. Of course fate wouldn’t have it that way, and neither would Yuki. She had half expected the return in the question and half hoped not to hear it. Either way she had been asking an awful lot of him, so it was only fair play to answer his own. “Well…” This required conjuring up some rather painful memories on her part. “…the first time I went to school the kids were really mean to me, so my parents took me out and had me home schooled. Then my powers started manifesting and I don’t think they understood what was going on, so they sent me here. Neither of my parents have powers so they thought I’d be better off going to school here so I could learn to control mine.” Her expression became a bit more somber after that. She had held the smile through out the explanation, hard as it had been, but now she could still hear those hurtful words, and taunting from the children in her classroom, and remembered how miserable she had been. Now, she was away from everyone she knew, miles from home, and quite possibly experiencing her first case of homesickness since arriving. Looking down she kicked at the dirt beneath her feet nervously. “You know… I was so tense about coming here. All these people are complete strangers and I’ve heard there’s a lot of fighting that goes on at this school.” She laughed lightly and looked back up at Yuki smiling once again. Melody had been rather anxious about the school, especially after hearing the rumor from that girl she’d met in the dorms. Maybe she was just overreacting. Between the three people she had met, they were all rather pleasant, a bit different, but that was the joy of it all really. “But so far I’ve met some rather interesting, if not really nice people so maybe there’s nothing to worry about after all.” Pursing her lips a bit she make a slight clicking noise with her tongue and looked around the garden. Yuki had been out here looking at the flowers and then attempted to take a nap. She had to ponder if that was a normal past time for him or if it was just a spur of the moment thing and what other activities he enjoyed. Of course that prompted yet another question. “So what do you do for fun Yuki?” |

Shocked by this connection as well, Yuki also wished he hadn't asked. It wasn't that he didn't want to know, but he didn't like making her sad and it appeared that his question did just that. He was beginning to make the connection between the blue in her eyes and sadness. The way she was treated in school shocked him though. 'How could they treat some one so nice like that?' He thought. He could see why they didn't like him. He was blaintly an outcast, but she could have blended in quite perfectly. But when she began to speak of this place, his heart lifted slightly. She was right. Yuki had been worried about the same things. He had always been able to defend himself at a regular school, but here... here he knew he could not. But he too had yet to meet anyone who wasn't at least friendly to him. Though, he had only really met 2 people at this point. His mind shifted back to the water balloon popping beside him. Okay, so he had met someone who wasn't the nicest, but still. It was done in good fun rather than out of spite, so he really didn't mind. When her question was asked, it took Yuki a few seconds to think. There was one thing he did for fun he wanted to refrain from saying, at least not yet. Though, he really wouldn't be lying. It wasn't like fun was the reason he did it. Thus, he was saved by a loophole. But what did he do? He was an otaku, so of course he would have to say that. But what else did he do? Music on an occasion, maybe; but there wasn't much else. There were walks like this. Oh, and there was his writing. He sort of hoped she would ask to see that sometime, as his writing was the one thing he prided himself on. He would just have to choose a few less angery or sad poems to show her, should she ask. "Well, I find myself enjoying these walks. Other than that, I like everything a normal, teenage otaku would. My anime and manga are really high on the list and I like to write poetry. I love listening to American rock music. Mostly alternative and metal. Other than that, I'm really rather boring." Not really wanting to ask another question of her just yet, he stood in silence waiting for her to comment. After the reaction in the last question he asked, he decided it best to refrain for a few moments and make sure that it wouldn't pry and make her sad, like he had with is last one. He stood there, finding himself staring at her eyes again as he waited for her to reply. ((Okay, I guess I lied. I did have time for a post. Sorry, for the inconvenience.)) |

Gazing at Yuki with a hopeful eyes, her smile seemed to light up with each word he spoke. Walking was always nice, if the weather permitted. It could get rather boring though unless you were doing some deep thinking, but even that could get old rather quick. She quirked an eyebrow at the word ‘otaku,’ the meaning of that didn’t quite click but she would figure it out the moment he mentioned anime and manga. She was quite interested in his writing the moment he mentioned it but nothing would prepare Yuki for what happened when he said he liked music. Now if it was one thing Melody loved to do more than cook it was play and listen to music. Jamming on her keyboard for instance seemed to be a favorite past time. Listening to American punk rock, pop, and some hard rock almost took top spots on her list. So it would have been no surprise to anyone who knew that to see the girl’s smile brighten considerable, as if it were possible, and the insistent bouncing up and down she started doing and as she grabbed both of Yuki’s hands. Of course, that boring comment would have to be dealt with too. “This is so cool, we have so much in common!” She eventually stopped her bouncing around to look him in the eye, still holding on to both his hands gingerly. “I love music, especially playing it on my keyboard. It’s so much fun!” Thinking for a moment she didn’t remember ever paying much attention to anime, or manga for that matter. Maybe he could show it all to her some time. Naturally, she wouldn’t know unless she asked. “Maybe we can watch some anime one day and you can show me what manga is.” ‘Manga’ had been said a little reluctantly as it was unfamiliar. The girl had lived a rather refined life, and a rather sheltered one at that. It wasn’t that she didn’t have much contact with the outside world, it was the fact she hardly ever watched television and comic books were a new concept for her all together. She knew what they were, just never experienced the pleasure of reading one. However, distractions aside, she hadn’t forgotten the other thing that stuck out in his comments. “I don’t think you’re boring at all Yuki. In fact, I think you’re quite interesting. I bet your writing is really good too.” |

Yuki saw her eyes light up at his mention of music. Sure he always listened to music, but he had no skill on any of the interments that he loved. He a unique singing voice, like Ozzy and other more signature rock artists that didn't have a voice like anyone else. Of course Yuki's wasn't anywhere near that desirable in terms of vocal talent, but his voice has very small range to it for the most part, rather like when speaks though he's not monotone. His screaming is what he prides himself on as he sounds like punkier groups when they try to scream, with that higher pitched wail sound in it. Which if he didn't suppress his speech so much, the higher pitch in the scream wouldn't be so surprising. As his actual voice was several tones higher if he didn't talk so quiet and low. At her comment on anime and manga, Yuki was rather unsure how to respond. Sure he had met lots of people in normal schooling where most people couldn't even find Japan on the map, but here, in the heartland, he figured that most people would have at least explored the topic slightly. But he was always happy to show someone around the world of anime and manga. Though the more time he spent at this school, the more it began to look like such a world. ”I’d be honored to show you some anime. If it gets to boring for you though, you’ll have to show me some of your musical talent instead though, okay?” As Melody mentioned his writing, his fears were confirmed. I guess it wouldn't hurt to share a few of his poems, as self-conscious as he was about them. Truth be told, he would rather show his eye or his scars than his writing. But he doubted if his scars would be made visible to Melody for at least a while. Then again, she was only a little out by watching Ronin. Maybe there was a chance that if he acted like it was only something in his past that she wouldn't run from him because of them. Then again he’s had people run from him for less and was really unsure how to respond; except maybe with a true fact about them. I’ve never shown my poems to anyone since the 5th grade… |

Anime boring? That seemed like a far off thought even for Melody. Bright colors and sound were right up her alley. Yuki would soon realize that Melody was much like a child, or a baby even, whom was just learning about the world around her. Eventually she let the boy’s hands go. Playing for him would be fun; she hadn’t done any sort of recital in quite some time now. Not being the shy type when it came to things of that nature, audiences were always welcomed. With that much settled, she looked around the garden again with a broad smile on her face. There were a lot of flowers here that Melody just did not recognize, and she was fascinated by them. Of course, that meant a bit of bouncing from flower bed to flower bed on her part with a curious glint to her now golden eyes. Giggling lightly she spun around on her tiptoe, stretching her arms out on both sides. This was fun but, as with all things that occur, it had to end. Melody had a few things to do today aside from lounging. For one she had to go to the grocery store, find her grandfather, whom her parents told her lived nearby, and a slew of other things that weren’t worth remembering right now. Locking away his room number to memory she’d have to go see him some time really soon. After all, she promised him a dinner, or at least in her mind she had and Melody wasn’t one to forget things like that. Given her sense of direction was a bit off, and maybe she could be scattered brained about a few things she was still completely competent when it came to her friends. Bounding over to Yuki she gave him a full on hug, if not borderline glomp, without his consent of course, then pulled away quickly still smiling brightly. “This was fun Yuki, you’re really nice, you know that!?” Tiling her head to the side a bit grinning, she placed her hands on her hips. “I’ll be seeking you out eventually so I can cook for you, so be ready to have your taste buds tantalized, ok.” Stepping backwards a bit she stumbled over her own feet. Luckily, she never fell down but she did blush slightly and giggle. It might be a few days, but she’d see him again. Of course whether that would be a planned meeting or a case of her hunting him down was still a mystery. Waving casually she turned to leave the garden, pausing for a moment to call out over her shoulder. “See you later Yuki, and keep smiling, it looks good on you!” The last little bit was accompanied with a tongue sticking out in a playful manner before she turned back and literally pranced out of the garden on to who knows where. |

Keiko, may this all be in your memory. I couldn't bring your change.

The white-haired boy stood there, not moving as his eyes and mind were to transfixed on the girl bounding around him from flower to flower. While most males would be looking at something else at this time, Yuki was looking at the expression on her face from what glimpses he could get when he switched to a different bed of flowers. It was amazing to him how innocent she was. Her cuteness as well captivated him. And living in the same dorm, he was bound to see her again. Such a thought felt like a kiss from Fortune herself. His eye's widened with shock as came at him with the glomp. He hesitantly put his arms around her loosely, but retracted the instant she pulled away as not to give the wrong idea. An expression of surprise and slight disbelief still adorned his face. 'Nice?' he questioned mentally. Not many bothered to talk to him long enough to find out whether he was or not, so this was the first time he had a compliment on this nature; like most compliments, this brought on a slight blush. He managed to mutter an embarrassed "Okay..." to the fact that she would be cooking for him. He felt his heart sink a little as she turned to leave. What little bit of remorse that he had was washed away by her cute expression when she stuck her tongue out at him. "Hey!" He shouted playfully and responded with his own. He only held it for a second before he burst out giggling. "Okay, Good bye Melody!" He was barely able to yell after amongst the giggles, making it sound semi broken up. Yuki watched her until she was out of sight and then fell backwards in the small clearing. He laid there, his arms stretched out and sighed heavily though happily. He closed his eyes and just lay there, replaying the events that had just recently happened in the garden. Until now, he had almost completely forgotten about the water balloon and Ronin as he’d been living in the moment up 'til then. After several moments, Yuki wearily pulled himself up and skipped out of the garden, his grin of a smile reflecting his mood. |
