Neotaga sat down on the edge of the roof top. He looked down at the students below. He smiled as he looked up at the sky seeing birds fly by. Neotaga always wanted to fly. But he knew he couldn't. And that he probably never would. He took out his note book and decided to write down a poem. He wrote- "In my field of paper flowers and candy clouds of lullaby. I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me..." |

Bored, and failing to think of anything better to do, Faria stepped up to the rooftop and looked around. She wore her black boddice top trimmed in navy lace and a navy skirt (trimmed with black lace) matching her top. She blinked in the sun and made her way to the edge of the roof. She sat on the ledge and looked around. She'd thought that there would be more students up here today, but as hot at the sun was, for her at least, it wasn't too surprising. She spotted a boy, not far from her, writing something in a notepad. Eh, he'd have to do for now. She flipped open her sketchpad to a blank page and pulled the pencil out of the spiral binding. Getting into a comfortable position, leaning against a light post, she started to draw her unsuspecting victim... Not that he was really a victim, but he was her target now, wasn't he? |

Neotaga wrote some more poems. He was bored and could think of only writing. He wondered if his poems were any good. Yet since he was shy he never could ask anyone about them. He glanced around as he heard someone. Then looked down at his paper. When he heard something again he looked in the direction of where a girl was sitting. He smiled and got up. He walked over to her and looked down at what she was doing. ".... Whats that your drawing miss?" He said hesitantly. He surprised himself for him being the one who talked first since he was so shy. But he kinda felt glad he did. Maybe it was time to get rid of his shyness. |

Faria looked up, but her model was gone. She blinked. Great, just great. It was so frustrating when whatever, or whoever, she tried to draw moved or disappeared. Looking around, she noticed that he hadn't disappeared, but was comming towards her. Oh, even better, she'd been caught. She quickly pulled her knees up to her chest, hiding her sketchbook in between. She didn't really like showing people her drawings. ".... Whats that your drawing miss?" She laughed, a little embarrased. Yup, caught. "Ah... Just a picture. I assure you though, it's really not that good. Not worth seeing anyhow." She smiled politely and closed her sketchbook, turning to sit with her legs dangling down, facing the boy. "I'm very sorry if I bothered you. I should have asked first... I can draw someone else if you'd rather." |

Neotaga smiled. Then shook his head. "No. That's okay. I don't mind. I'm sure your a very good artist." He said smiling more. He felt kinda embaressed to be talking like that. Usually he was so quiet and said very little to people. Especially to girls. He blushed slightly then coughed. And looked back at her. |

"maybe..." Faria wasn't really confident in her artwork. She loved creating art, just about any kind, but didn't think she was good at all. She smiled a little bit when he blushed, not to embaras him or anything, but to try to show that she really wasn't someone to get so worked up over. She wasn't gonna judge him or anything. She guessed he was probably very shy. She put her sketchbook next to her on the ledge. "My name's Faria." |

Neotaga smiled when she said her name. Then he looked at her. "My names Neotaga. It's very nice to meet you Faria." He said smiling. He didn't know why he was smiling so much. But he was glad that he was smiling. It seemed forever since he last smiled. Ever since his grandparents died he just couldn't get himself to smile. Or when he did it was never a happy smile. Just a smile for pictures or as a hello. Or so people wouldn't bother him by asking why he wasn't smiling. He tried to not think about. Looking back at her he smiled again. Then he sat down next to her. |

As he sat down, Faria noticed something she hadn't noticed before. He had cat ears! She'd never seen someone with animal parts before, and even though this was AHS and she knew there were many different things here than she'd ever seen or even heard of, she continued to be surprised. She giggled a little bit and smiled. And, unable to keep quiet about it, she decided a compliment wouldn't harm him, despite his apparent shyness. "I really like your ears." She'd had a cat briefly when she was younger... One of the happiest weeks of her life, heh, until her dad found out about it. She shuddered and wiped the memory from her mind. |

Neotaga jumped slightly when she mentioned his ears. He blushed slightly. Then smiled. He never knew someone would compliment him. No one ever did at his other schools. They'd call him a demon or a freak. That he was nothing but trouble for everyone. They had probably teased him about his parents death because of his ears. Calling him a demon and that it was his own fault. He started cry. But then noticed and quickly wiped them away. He looked back at Faria and smiled slightly. "Thanks." He said. |

"Ah, I didn't mean to upset you." Faria's eyes grew wide and she wondered what she had said to make his eyes tear. Maybe it was strange that Faria found his ears cool instead of frightening. She'd never met anyone who wasn't normal, or, at least normal human-wise. But strangely, maybe she should have had thoughts that these people with super powers and demonic features were evil, but she didn't. Why? Who would ever know...? The only person she thought to be evil at the moment was her father. But he neither had super powers or any real demonic features, that Faria could tell, but she thought him to be the worst person there could be. Maybe he was. Who would know that, either? She looked over the edge of the roof to the people below. She suddenly remembered a time when her mother had come home from work with a bag of water balloons. Her mom had always had a fun side to her, even though she was no better than her dad in most ways. Faria's filled them and went to the roof of the appartment buildings and thrown them off when people walked by down below. She'd hit quite a few people and the best part was that she didn't get in trouble. It was awsome. Faria sighed then, remembering a moment where she'd hit her mom when she got home. She hadn't been angry, but instead laughed about it when Faria came down from her mischevious deeds... Her mom was dead now... but oh well. There was no use crying over it, and Faria really felt no need to cry, nor sorrow. Her mom was dead. The end. |

Neotaga sighed and then looked down at the people below. He leaned forward abit. Feeling like he was about to fall off. He wasn't scared. Maybe the one who had killed his grandparents hoped that sorrow would overcome him and he'd kill himself. Then again what was the point? Then again why not? There were only three people who cared about him. His sister, aunt, and uncle. Everyone else was either dead or he just didn't know about them. He started to cry again. Wanting to jump yet shaking and feeling scared. Then he thought what a fool he must look to Faria. |

Faria didn't think him a fool at all. In fact, she was rather worried for this boy she'd just met. Her expression changed to one of concern and she looked at him, holding out her hand sympathetically. Something was obviously wrong, and she didn't know him too well, but for some reason she wanted to help him. "Are you alright?" She wasn't sure what she could do, or even if he would open up to her, but at least she could try. Someone who cried openly only needed help, this she knew only too well. No, she hadn't cried much in front of people herself, but had similar issues concerning things like this, though she'd never gotten what she'd needed: someone to talk to. She hoped she could be that for this young man. He seemed so nice and she was almost sad herself seeing him cry. |

Neotaga smiled slightly tears still rolling down his cheeks. He shook his head and looked at Faria. "No... I'm not all right." He said. Then sighed. He was still shaking and he couldn't seem to stop. Then he scooted back away from the ledge a little bit. Then put his knees up against himself and rested his head on them. "I'm not all right. Not at all." He said. |

Faria, a tad taken aback by the sudden display of emotion, knealt next to him and put her arm about his shoulder. She was aware that her friendly gesture may be taken in the wrong way, but she had a feeling that he was too upset to not accept it. She spoke to him calm and carefully, feeling terribly bad for him. What had happened to make him upset so? She dreadfully hoped that her comment about his ears hadn't brought this on. "Neotaga... Shhh... calm down and tell me what's wrong..." She wiped one of his tears away, a strange feeling came over her, one that she assumed must be a feeling that an older sibbling might feel towards a younger one, though she had no brothers or sisters herself. |

Neotaga smiled and wiped the rest of his tears away. Then he looked at Faria. He sighed and nodded. Taking a deep breathe. "It's just... I remembered the death of my grandparents is all. I've never been complimented on my ears before. Everyone else called me a demon and a freak. I sometimes think that's why they blamed me for my grandparents death. Sometimes I wish I would forget or die...." He said sadly looking down. |

"I'm sorry... I really didn't think that I'd upset you." Faria's face still looked concerned and sympathetic. She'd met a girl who was part wolf... She had the same problem as him, or, similar enough. Maybe this was something that all children with animal parts went through? She'd always wondered, even as a teenager, what it'd be like to have cat ears or a dog tail or bird wings or, you know thinks like those. But now, she was unsure. She knew it wouldn't help in the area of her parents, nor did she think it'd make it worse. Though, going around from school to school with a cat tail might be difficult. Not only would she get probably get picked on by kids who'd never seen such a thing, but she'd get picked on by different kids, sometimes no more than a week apart, considering how much she'd moved. The kids wouldn't even get a chance to get tired of the teasing. She shook her head to herself to clear her thoughts, sure that she'd been silently staring at the ground for a good moment. She looked back at Neotaga sternly, her face still somewhat sympathetic, but concerned. She frowned at him and her voice hardened a bit. Death was NOT the answer to anything. "No, I don't think you'd want that at all. Dying will NOT fix anything, it will only hurt those you don't want to hurt. The reason that you wanted to kill yourself to prevent in the first place." Yes, she'd thought about death herself, many many times, but she knew it wasn't the answer. Life would give him many oppertunities still. Did he not think that AHS was one? Surely he didn't get teased so much here. Most everyone she'd met so far, save one, definatly WASN'T normal. And about half of those students had had animal parts of some sort, be it wings or horns or the ability to change into a wolf. Maybe she was angry at him for saying that because that's what she secretly wanted? Even in this place... Though, for him he had an opportunity that she hadn't. Maybe his family was dead, but her's wasn't. Maybe this was a curse more than it was a blessing. Though, maybe there was another reason for her attending this school other than that her father had dumped her here and disappeared, besides her having nowhere left to go. She knew she'd be here for a long time. Maybe she was looking for her reason to live, just one reason for her to live. She thought she'd found him, but hadn't known him long enough quite yet... Though she hoped that he would be... Or even that he'd be willing to be this for her... but maybe her life was too strong a burden for a person? Was that why her father had thrown her away? He didn't want to take care of her anymore? He'd never been her reason for living, but maybe he thought he was? Was this his plan the whole time? To remove himself from her life so she'd finnally fall off the edge and fade away? She hated her father. She hated thinking about him. But why was he always on her mind? To many questions and no answers. That was all she had. She breathed out through her nose slowly, her face expressionless, hiding her thoughts and emotions well. She'd had plenty practice at that. |

Neotaga smiled. And he looked at Faria. He was happy someone else was concerned for him. Not just his aunt, uncle, and sister. Maybe this would be his first friend. Everyone was nice to him. But they always went away when they were done talking. He wanted to get to know someone. Not just be a short term friend or an aqaintence. "Your right. Death is not the answer. I do have some people who I would hurt by killing myself. Even though I'm proud of that. I wish I had others to care about me too. And for me to care about." He said. Then sighed. He smiled slightly and looked down again. |

Faria smiled at Neotaga. She hadn't been so sure about him before, but he seemed to have a good heart. "I'm glad, Neotaga." She knew she should probably say something more but she couldn't think of anything else to say instead or in addition. She stood up and held out her hand to help him up. He was a little shy, but he was a good kid. Faria'd never had any friends before either. Maybe her and Neotaga could become really good friends someday. A sudden thought came to her mind. She was a bit embarrassed by the idea, but she decided not to keep it to herself. "Hey! I know it's a bit soon for nicknames and stuff, but do you think I could call you Taga-chan?" Ah, it was a strange idea even for her, she knew. But she thought the nickname sounded cute and she thought a kid with cat ears deserved a cute nickname. Though, she wouldn't be upset if he declined. Of course it was too soon for nicknames, or maybe he wouldn't like it. She paused a moment, a thought comming to her and she started to regret even asking, hoping she hadn't offended his masculinity by such a childish/girly name. Gah, she probably should have kept that all to herself... |

He smiled and took her hand to help him up. Then he laughed slightly when she mention nichnames and said what she would call him. "I like the thought of a nickname. I also like the name Taga-chan. You can call me that. But what should I call you?" ^_^ He asked. He started thinking what to call her. He wondered if he should call her Fari-chan. That was kinda silly though. |

Faria was glad that he accepted her nickname for him... but her? She shrugged. "You can call me anything you want, I guess." She scratched the back of her head. She didn't really have any ideas. Fari-chan? no, she felt like she'd be asking for a nickname... She'd let him give her the name. She really didn't mind what he called her, but it sounded fun. She'd never had a nickname before. |

Faria smiled, a real smile. It seemed to be an action she'd learned only after coming to AHS, though she'd known that she could do it all along. Though she didn't do it often, her smile was sweet, but still had a noticable hint of shyness from the lack of practice. "That sounds cute. I like it!" Of course, she didn't know what it meant, or the significance of his choosing it for her. A sweat drop fell down her head. "What's it mean?" |

Neotaga laughed. Then he smiled and looked at her. "It means older sister. I hope you don't mind." ^_^ He says smiling. Then he looks up at the sky and noticed that it was beautiful out. Maybe the thing that was his wings. Real or not. Were the ones who loved him and cared about him. The ones that gave him the courage to do better things. Like to flying high up into the sky. |

Oh! She recognized the name now, though she'd never heard anyone call an older sister something so friendly before. Faria clapped her hands out of excitement. Despite her normally calm disposition, she was suddenly full of energy. "I like that a lot! Thank you!" She took it as a compliment, in a way. She'd never had a sibling, but she knew, right away, that if she ever had one they would be just like Taga-chan... er, minus the cat ears. Suddenly, out of the blue, she felt like just giving him a hug, just because she could, and it took all she had not to. But she kept herself under controll. |

Neotaga smiled at her compliment. Blushing slightly. He was glad she liked it. Then looked back at the sky. He layed down and looked up. Watching the clouds pass by. He was so happy now that he had someone who cared about him. He felt like telling her everything about him. Well not everything. But enough to make him feel better. Like his past. |

Faria turned around and pulled her sketchbook off of the wall she'd been sitting on. She turned to Taga-chan, wondering if he was curious to critique the picture she'd started of him. She didn't want to feel like a show off, but this picture wasn't too great, nor was it very far along, so it wouldn't really be showing off... but she'd been called a show off for even less... Students at her old schools, it was pretty much the same at every school, she found odd, but they like to sneak up behind her and make ornery noises or try to tell her how something should look. "Do you want to see?" |

Faria opened up her sketchbook up to show him. It was a new sketchbook so she didn't have to flip far to find it. Her fingers turned maybe seven partially started drawings in before getting to what she looked for. The picture really wasn't finished yet, but it was his face. She'd drawn the shape of his head and the features of his face, with as much detail as she could with his eyes and his hair and the top of his head weren't even started yet. The picture probably wasn't that bad, but seeing as it didn't really resemble Neotaga very well, she thought it a piece of crap and didn't like it much. "Heh, well I tried...." |

Neotaga nodded still smiling. He couldn't stop smiling. But then again he didn't want to really. He loved to smile. Before he had hated it. Or so he thought. Now he was happy he could smile again. Faria sat for a moment, startled by the sudden hug, but she recovered and hugged him back. She smiled at him. This was odd. For some reason she felt a strange attatchment to Taga-chan. Not like the the strange giddy feeling like how she felt for another student, but something else. Could this be what loving someone was like? Was this what it felt like to love a family member? She'd never felt anything towards her parents, hence the lack of feeling when her mother died, but this was a tad strange. It wasn't that she wasn't glad for it, because she was, but she felt stronger for this kid that she'd only met hours before when she couldn't even die for the people that brought her into the world. It bothered her a little, but she decided to ignore it, rathering not to think about the past at that moment. She looked at Neotaga and smiled again, her smile having faded when she got lost in thought. "So what do you want to do?" |

Neotaga smiled and shrugged. He looked back up at the sky. "I dunno. I was thinking about going to the garden. It's nice there." He said smiling. He wanted to see the garden. It was peaceful. Faria nodded. She liked the garden too. She'd been there only a couple times but already she'd decided it was her favorite part about the school. She liked the plants and stuff, having lived in a city her whole life. Sure the forest and the lake were cool, but somehow she favored the garden more, probably because the gardeners took care of it well instead of letting it run wild. It was full of roses, too, her favorite flower. "Alright, the garden it is!" She smiled, and waited patiently till Taga-chan was ready to lead the way. |
