Legs Hanging Down, Among Stars and Dreams; Plenty Open

Above his head was the shining night sky, and below his feet, the dark earth; two opposites, beautiful in their contrast. Constellations and the lunar white, shed light upon the tarred, black roof, and also upon Troi's comparably pale face. His long hair had a shine to it, which reflected the light of the moon softly, and subtly, barely noticable in the night.
He sat on the ledge, eyes closed, in a half meditatory state, but more concious than completely at rest. His legs dangled down off of the roof, bent at the knee, and his upper body swayed, ever so softly, with the gentle night time breezes. Beside him, rested a hardcover copy of Thoreau's Walden , one of his favorite books.
As minutes wore on, he lay back and rested on the solid roof surface. He no longer saw the ground, far beneath his feet. His vision was only filled with the night sky, which was a breathtaking, "simply... breathtaking," whispered he, before turning to the solace of silence.

Tsunami flew around the school, practically feeling a bit blind in the dark. There were a few stars out to light her way but that didn't seem enough as her gold eyes looked around. Finally coming ti a halt in the sky with her wings fluttering a bit, her hand comes underneath her chin a thinking gesure. At the moment, she was trying to figure out where to go next since she had practically mapped out hte whole school just by flying around.

There was a light behind her that was really starting to bug Tsunami. She turned around to see what it was and saw a massive thing of light. Flying back some ways, she realized it was the moon, it seemed to be a full mon today. With a smile, she clapped her hands together in dlight and looked around for a spot she could land safely. It was just to bright for her to just stay in one place and stare at it. So, flying down, she landed upon the school's roff edge on her feet. The whole scene above her was so fascinating.

One big moon while stars decorated the sky it presented itself in. Her gold eyes slightly wide. Unkowingly, Tsunami stood a few feet away from the boy who was also on the roof.

"My ears, told me that you were a bird, flying over head, as I heard the beating of your wings." Spoke Troi softly and kindly, a whisper in the night, which was perfectly understandable. "And as I see you here, I recognize you as a woman, just as human as I...yet also, you're not."
Troi lifted himself up to a sitting position, and continued, gently "A cross between the two you are, and certainly the first of such a kind that I've ever seen. So I ask; are thy an angel, or are winged beauties frequent in this academy?"

Tsunami blinked a few times in surprise after hearing the voice. She turned her gold eyes to look at the stranger as moved her head a little. Not quite sure who he was talking to, she looked around for anyone else that might be here beside herself. But no, there was no one else but her, a butterfly girl. As he spoke, a small blush came over her face and quickly made it go away. An angel? She was far from it, in her opinion at least.

"No angel sadly. A butterfly perhaps," She smiled and bowed lightly and straightened herself back up. The two locks of her hair that shaped as her attenas bobbed lightly. Her arms coming to lay upon her waist as she tilted her head to the side lightly. "I'm Tsunami."

"The definition of angel, is loose and encompasses many things," he said in an assuring, kind tone, richly accented by his Irish heritage. He smiled to her, warmly, upon seeing her own smile, "Tsunami... a pretty name, worthy of she who holds an appearance such as yours. Butterfly you say? Surely, were there any wings to have, a butterfly's would be the greatest."
Troi paused, a warm smile still on his face, "I am Troi, a human, nothing more."

Her brow perked up in amusement as she crouched down lightly looking at him. He was definitly foreign, both by his accent and by his looks. She placed her hands on the base of her knees as she watched him. It was kinda odd, he was being too kind and normal. Mostly the people she met either came barging into her room or she just flew donw to greet them. The last guy she met was tooo paranoid and the other was just too hyper. The there was the dog boy, he seemed a hyper too. Tsunami snapped her attention out of her thoughts to look back at Troi who had just introduced himself.

"Well aren't you the run of the mill poet. Quite the flatterer you are," She said looking at him with a small grin on her face. Tsunami wasn't quite sure why, but Troi didn't seem normal to her, his looks were okay but something else bugged her. She just couldn't quite put her finger on it. He seemed aloft and compliments seemed to easily flow pst his mouth. What was his game? "Thanks for the compliment but tell me, what has you up beside the moon and the stars?"

Oh boy, there she went. She was really starting to get paranoid like Ootu. Tsunami gave herself a mental slap upside the head.

"Run of the mill, such a compliment," he laughed, not picking up on any of her, albeit slight, unease. His long hair blew into his face, and he pushed it aside with an unconsious gesture. Unbeknownst to Troi, when his hand moved upwards to push aside the hair, his jacket moved slightly enough to reveal one of his revolvers, resting on his hip.
"Well, perhaps it isn't the stars and moon that keep me up, but the ground from which I so desperatly want to be relieved from." He told her, not sure if he wanted to be entirely revealing to a stranger, "But of course, I can easily ask you the same question. So what is it, Tsunami, that has you awake at this late hour?"

Tsunami blinked once looking at him as she stood back up, her hands coming to rest on her hips. The moonlight glinted against his revolver that he had just revealed to her when he was pushing aside his hair. One brow perking up in curiousity, no student she had seen so far haed a weapon them, at least not visible in her sight. When inquired about her own reason for being here, she only smiled and shrugged her shoulders.

"Flying of coasre, if I don't get it out of my system, I just seem to get a bid giddy," Tsunami explained with a smile as she croased her arms over her chest. Her gold eyes going up to look at the moon as it's appearence reflecting it. After a few seconds, she turned to look back at Troi, her smile turning into a slight grin. "Reason enough?"

She smiled.

"Well, if there is only one reason, than there is no other choice than for it to be 'reason enough'," he returned her grin, "That is assuming, it's the only reason." He smiled, that last part said with little seriousness.
Troi swung his legs off of the side of the roof, and sat so that he was completely facing her. "You take to the air easily, a feat of which I'm quite envious ." He paused, for a moment he was entirely enthralled by her golden eyes, the second thing that he'd never seen before, yet he snapped himself out of his momentary captivation.
"Maybe we're both up here for the same reason, we just don't know it..."

Tsunami lookd at him and lightly shook her head, a smile coming back over her face. Hearing his words made her think, few were envious of her ability to fly while others were just glad staying on the ground. Those that preferred the ground were afraid of heights. She herself once was. Looking to her feet, in this form, not having toes was still wierd for her. Tsunami lifted her head back up to look at Troi and smiled.

She held her hand out to him.

"Troi, do you want to join me in a brief flight?" She asked tilting her head to the side with a smile onher face. Her hand still outstretched with toward him. A small breeze blowing by causing her 'anttenas' to sway lightly as she stared down at him with a perked brow. Curious to see if he would accept such an offer.

Troi's eyes lit up at the invitation, and his smile widened ten fold. His eyes met hers, and he grasped her hand lightly. With ease and grace he rose to his feet slowly, never breaking eye contact with her.
"Were I to ever decline such an offer; to take to such a wonderous sky, with such a captivating person, I'd regret it eternally. Please, let us do so, if you'd be so willing."

Tsunami blinked in surprise at his reaction. She hadn't really expected such a look to come over his face so quickly. A small chuckle escaping her lips as she took hold of his other hand and lifted them both from the roof. Her wings giving one last hard thrust before they shot to the sky. The iwnd practically whipping at he back of her head as she stared down at him smiling. The look on his face priceless as she pulled hi up close to her, almost in a hug. It was only to get a better hold on him, she wouldn't want him to fall to his death now would she?

"How's this? High enough for you?" Tsunami asked lookin gat him. The school seemed almost like a doll house while a few clouds passed by them slowly while another seemed to be going right through them. The moon righ at her back along with the the stars that only seemed like an arm reach away. "Don't get the wrong idea or anything, I just though it would be nice if you got the chance to be up in the sky as well."

A small blsuhing coming over face as she quickly looked away.

"Were I capable of thinking of words, which could even approach the abiltiy of describing what an experience this is, I'd say them a thousand times," he exclaimed. Never before had he taken flight, in any way shape or form, but it had always been a dream of his to do so.
"Wrong idea?" Smirked he, "never." Although, the thought had crossed his mind briefly, he was more focused on the remarkable flight, than anything else.

Tsunami smiled as she nodded her head. Her gold eyes looking around at the clouds passing by as an idea came to her mind. It was a bad thought but she couldn't help thinking about it. It was pretty funny, to her at least but she didn't think Troi would. Since after all, he would be the victim of the small prank. She flew around the sky, through the clouds and against the wind. Tsunami was careful not to get to close tot he moon since it would cause her to be blind for a few moments. Looking down at Troi, she smile and dived down below the clouds.

It looked as if she were diving stright toward the ground. The wind whipped at their faces. Tsunami stopped instantly as soon as the tip of her feet touched the ground then she shot right back up. When they were back in the clouds she laughed a bit. She's been wanting to try that for quite some time.

Troi's reaction, while not one of anger, or extreme suprise did not lack a certain amount of panic. As they hurtled towards the ground he clung to her, tightly, yet trusting that she wouldn't do anything too crazy, or life threatening.

"Are your intentions to stop my heart?!?" He exclaimed as she pulled them back, safely into the air. He laughed with her, "I am not entirely sure that I want to know the number of times you've attempted such a maneuver."

Tsunami laughed even more after hearing his words. Hearing his inquiry about the amount of time she had pulled off such a trick, she shook her head lightly, a grin on her face. Doing that trick was a first, honestly it was! A fit of giggles threatened to take over her throat. Tsunami shook her head from left to right as she stared at him. There had been no move to loosen the tight grip he had on her and her lungs were running a little short on air. She started to tap his arms lightly.

"That was the first time I've tried the trick, never really got to perfect it. Most the things I had in my arms usually got jerked from my arms and fell. Good thing you didn't fall," Tsunami said with a smile as he looked at him. Her fingers still tapping his arms that held tight. "Could you loosen your grip? I'm suffering from lack of air at the moment."

"Yes, an incredibly good thing that I didn't fall," he was still smiling, laughing a little, with her. "Although I'm sure you'd never let such a thing happen," His tone was teasingly sarcastic. As she informed Troi of the pressure he was clinging to her with the grip immediatly lost its tension. "Oh, most dreadfully sorry!" he hadn't at all realized what he was doing, "all the excitement caused my mind to focus upon other things, like plummeting to the ground," added Troi with a smile.

Tsunami sighed with relief as she took in a deep breath of fresh air. The burning in her lungs immedietly gone as soon as his grip loosened.

"Thanks, I thought I was gonna suphocate there. But I guess I did ask for it when I did that small trick," Tsunami said looking down at him as she flew around a little more. Another idea coming ot her head as she stared down at Troi then back up at the sky. "Hey, I have another trick in mind, do you mind if I try it?"

A smile coming across her face.

"Please, do attempt whatever you please," Troi smiled back, not entirely sure he wouldn't regret it. He was now extra cautious not to hold too tightly, due to the fact that he felt so badly for her discomfort.

"Just know," he continued, sarcastically, "that should you drop me from hundereds of feet, I'll have to kill you back."

By this time, they were pretty high up in the sky that the clouds passed through them. Her bright gold eyes looking at him still as she smiled. Hearing his question, she perked a brow in confusion, though the look was a cover up for her plan.

"Wha? I'm sorry I didn't hear you, I think there's something in my ear. Let me get it out." Tsunami said, inwardly she laughed as she released her hold on him abruptly. Her hands pretending to get the 'thing' out of her ears, though in this form she really didn't have human ears. Odd that it was, she could still hear. When she was sure that he had fallen long enough, she dove down and caught him in her arms smiling.

Troi got as far as saying "oh" in the word "okay" before she dropped him. From then on it was a mixture of 'AHHHHHHHHHH!" and "I can't believe she dropped me!" He saw her image get smaller and smaller as he plummeted down. He wasn't sure if she was joking, or he really was about to die. The ground grew close, he was falling at hundereds of feet per second.

Then he was in her arms, floating softly. Out of breath and nearly scared to death, he looked at her, laughing and also not laughing at the same time, "You let me fall," his breathing was staggered, "Perhaps that was the greatest and most fear-filled experience of my life," his eyes met hers for a moment, "and I have you to thank..."

She laughed softly as her body lightly shook with it. A few tear falling down her cheeks as she gently shook her head to get them off. Her 'antennas' boucing a little from the action as she listened to him speak. At the moment, she didn't trust herself to speak in fear of breaking into a fit of uncontrolable laughter. When he was done speaking, her cheeks were red with supressed laughter.

"You can thank me by not killoing me." Tsunami laughed as she buried her face against the crook of his neck laughing really hard. A few tears of laughter falling from her cheeks. A few words being muffled like. 'the look on your face was priceless' or 'you screamed like a girl', though most of it could hardl be heard.

"Never in a million years would I ever think of doing so," he said, between laughs, "Please, do not hold in your laughs," Troi smiled, he heard the comments she was trying to muffle, quite easily, "I can hear your comments perfectally well, and I did not at all scream like a girl. Yet, even if I did, I think that I'd be alllowed to, seeing as how I very easily could have died."

Tsunami's body shook as she allowed her laughter to be released. They slowly started to decend toward the ground while she laughed, tears slipping down her face as she shook her head lightly. Once her feet touched the ground, she fell to her knees in a liquid motion. As soon as she was on her knees, Tsunami was back to her normal self. Blue hair falling all around her while a few locks fell over her shoulder and face.

"You know I wouldn't let you die. You were so clueless! You were like 'oh, okay'." Tsunami said looking back up at him as she smiled and wiped the tears from her face with the palms of her hands. Her ocean blue eyes shiny with tears as she bent her head back down to laugh. Her shoulders shaking as she hugged herself while laughing. Tsunami was wearing her favorite outfit, it was oen she had bought from her ealier travels through countries. It was duringher time of training.

Troi's laughter was not nearly as hearty, or long lasting as hers was. He had long since stopped, and she was on the ground, in tears, which was something which made him laugh yet again. He was taken slightly aback by her transformation, and was suprised to see it take place so rapidly. He figured that after she calmed down, he'd mention it.

For now, he just took a seat next to her, laughing but still not nearly to the extent that she was, "You find amusement in many things, a wonderful trait to have."

After a few seconds, Tsunami laughter died down to nothing but chuckles from time to time. Her eyes lifting up from the ground as she looked over at where Troi was and smiled. A lock of light blue hair falling over her shoulder from the small action as he moved a little to get comfortable. She moved so she was now sitting indian style than on her knees. Hearing Troi's words, she smiled a bit laughed a little as she lightly rubbed the back of her neck.

"Really? Another guy I met on the roof was angry with me just because I laughed. I think he was angry because I was laughing at him which was only because some guy sent a butterfly to assasinate him." Tsunami said with a small smile as she shook her head lightly chuckling. "Silly isn't it?"

"I just can't believe," replied Troi, "I can't believe that laughter so lovely would cause anyone to anger." Tsunami nodded her head up and down in agreement. The palm of her hand reaching up to wipe a stray tear from her face as she looked at him. Her cheeks were starting to hurt from smiling to much but she couldn't help it. She hadn't laughed like that since she saw her cousin Mike dressed up like a girl.

"Yeah," Tsunami said as she looked over at him and smiled. Her cheeks a faint red color. "Oh boy, my stomach hurts from laughing so much and my cheeks are killing me. Its been awhile since I've laughed that hard. How about you?"

"Never so hard since..." Troi paused, not sure if he wanted to reveal much of his past to this newly met girl, "...since before I came here," he slightly stammered out, uncomfortably. He made a move to quickly switch topics, but found that thinking of one was harder when under pressure. Instead of a creating new conversation piece, he only filled the air with an uncomfortable silence.

Tsunami watched him speak and nodded her head lightly. After that, he went completely silent. Most people were like that so far and for good reason she guessed. A small sigh escaping her lips as she reached a hand up to brush her fingertips through her hair, only to dicover that she had changed back. Till now, she hadn't really noticed. She shrugged her shoulders ligtly and guessed that it was from the sudden laughter.

"I see. Hmmm......" A question then coming ot mind as she turend to look at him. "What kind of power do you have Troi? You've already seen mine."

"Well," he said, glad to be on a new topic, "I can't really display mine in any such way as you can." He looked around for a book, or some kind of reading material, "Not here anyway..." he thought for a moment,

"I have the power to absorb information, from inanimate objects in seconds. I need only place my hand on a book or a computer, and in seconds I aquire all of the information it stores. Yes, that seems like quite the boring power, but I also have an ability to feel sound waves, like a radar almost."

Tsunami listend to him and smiled. That didn't sound like such a boring power, it was better than what she had. At least using that kind of gift he could get work done in class faster.

"Well that's great. It's one way to finish homework or boring essays that you have to read up on," Tsunami said with a smiel as she looked at him and placed her chin in the palm's over hands as she brought her knees to her chest. Her elbows resting on her knee caps as she casted Troi a sideways glance. "A radar, eh? Sounds cool. The other power I have, well, It's not really me then. It's more lke a demon that lives inside me. She's so annoying but she has her uses at times."

"I enjoy writing boring essays," he laughed slightly. He layed on his back and looked up at the night sky, still as beautiful as ever. He placed his hands behind his head as he listened to her, but sat up at the mention of a demon. "Demon? You certainly are a lady of many forms, aren't you?"

Tsunami blinked a few times and blushed when she heard him say he enjoyed writing broing essays. Oh boy, she felt a bit stupid for saying that since he enjoyed doing something she had called boring. Her blue eyes went over to him when he had laid himself back on the graas with his hands behind his head. She then started to laugh a bit nervously as she rubbed the back of her neck. Maybe telling him that wasn't a good idea.

"Yeah, I guess so. It's all thanks to my ancestors and their wierd ways of producing," She let out a small sigh as she looked down at the ground then back up at the sky. "But don't worry, she doesn't take over unless I give her permission or if I'm tired."

Tsunami left out the other way Amaru could take over. The other way was if the demon lady fought her way to take control, it was then that Tsunami herself would be sent to a dark place and slept. When she was able to take control again, Amaru would have had her fun by then.

"Well," replied Troi, "That isn't so bad then, is it? Just dont' fall asleep while I'm around, I dont' particularly like dealing with demons." He laughed slightly, sitting up completely now, in front of her. "I still am of the opinion that the gift of flight is probably the greatest power one can have," Troi smiled, "As long as the person flying doesn't drop anything she happens to be flying with."

Tsunami smield as she nodded her head listening to him. When he mentioned her not dropping things, a smile instantly came to her face. The expression on his face when she dropped him appeared in her mind. She had to quickly clapm one hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing aloud. Her shoulders were shaking lightly with the surpressed laughter building up inside her.

"I know," Tsuanmi said though her voice was muffled. Without her knowing it, her eyes had turned a bright shade of crimson with yellow specks around the pupil. It would seem Amaru was slowly but surely trying to take over without Tsunami noticing, that is, until it was to late to stop her. Tsunami kept her head bent as she started to break into a fit of giggles. "Great, you're going to get me laughing again."

She giggled.

"What was that?" Troi asked, not being able to completely understand her, "You spoke as if drunk," he smiled at her. He smiled, but for some reason that he couldn't pick up on, she seemed slightly different, he ignored it though, and said smiling, "what other secrets do you have?"

Her cheeks were starting to hurt now. He was doing it on purpose, trying to make her laugh that is. Hearing his words about her eyes made her blink twice, the fit of giggles slightly subsiding as she looked at him. Her head tilting to the side in puzzlement as she stared at him.

"Red? My eyes are blue," Tsunami said with a small smile as she looked at him. The tips of her hair turning a bright red that slowly made its way up to the roots, though she was not aware of it. Tsunami got what he was trying at, he was trying to scare her in order to get her back for dropping him. "Your so funny Troi. Trying to scare me?"

She chuckled lightly.

Troi, now leaned in close to her, "No, Tsunami..." he looked at her quizzically, "Your hair too... it's begining to turn a reddish hue, indeed you have many forms, don't you?" He wasn't sure if he was denying this spectacle, or she really knew what was going on, "If I had a mirror, I'd show you, but I swear your eyes are a deep shade of red."

Tsunami's eyes went wide then as she reached behind her to take a strand of hair to examine. He was right, her hair was changing colors! She looked back up to him and opened her mouth to say something. Just before she could, her cloths bursted into flames leaving revealing armor in its place. Leathery wings sprouted from her back and her facial features changed when thick rred hair flowed from the scalp. Amaru's hair was thicker than Tsunami's.

"Well, that was easy. She never knew what hit her, well, sort of," Amaru said with a smile as she flexed her fingers a bit and smiled, her voice a bit different from Tsunami's if a bit mature. She closed one eye and heard the faint shouts of Tsunami. The blue haired girl would be out until Amaru was done here. Her crimson gaze slowly to look over to the boy beside her. A smile that was not so innocnet coming over her face as she spranged out and glomped him. "Hi! I'm gonna have fun with you!"

She giggled.
