I remember that day all too well... it was raining, just like today. I had just gotten accepted to Anime High, and I was scared. Scared that everything was going to turn out like it had for the past eight years. I didn't know anyone here all this time, thanks to Saito and his group. Everyone just stayed away from me, even in my times of need. So I had no friends, it was probably for the better. But every time it rained, it was like the sky was showing my emotions for me. This time was different though, cause it wasn't just me on the front porch of the inn. My uncle was there with me, sharing his concerns about my departure...

Hayato: "Neo... it will be different around here with you gone, you know that?"
Neo: "I do. It's not like I haven't appreciated what you and the others have done for me all this time Uncle Hayato. I just... want to find out more about myself. Besides, you'll have your hands full with the new students coming here after I leave.
Hayato: "...Neo, you're lying. You can tell me the truth. What's the real reason that you're leaving us? It can't be because of that one person, he's been put away."
Neo: "No, it's not just him. I just... I just want to know... do people really hate me for who I am? My parents, the other people my age here.... do they all just not like me?"

Everything was just silent between us then. For once, even my uncle was not sure on what to possibly say. I was able to learn a lot from him about anything I could ever ask, but this was something I knew he coudn't answer. Eventually, I felt a hand on my shoulder, as Uncle Hayato only had one message that he could possibly give to me.

Hayato: "That's something you will have to find the answer to for yourself."

Almost three years later, we find ourselves at the AHS campus on an unusually rainy summer day. Most of the students were in their houses or in some of the facilities in the school, except for Neo Valreign, who was sitting outside underneath a tree. None of the rain was hitting him though, thanks to the thick layers of leaves over him. It's been about a week since he returned from seeing his parents, and meeting his brother Rion for the first time. It was unusual for him to have a thought like that in his mind, especially since his situation has changed considerably since the day he left Kyoto.

He wasn't alone anymore, at least when it came friends. From what he's heard in random converstaions, he's even considered one of the more popular students there, much to his surprise. But still, he tends to sit around alone, isolated from even his housemates. Especially on rainy days, which would tend to bring people together and talk among themselves. But here he sat, just... thinking to himself. He didn't even notice when a stray raindrop hit the side of his face, moving down his face as if he was crying.

A boy walked, heedless of the rain, towards the courtyard. Teo Minamino was a familiar figure to almost all here, and hadn't changed much in two years. He had grown sidelocks and a long 'tail, but black eyes still looked at the world through the same owlish glasses.

He still looked 14, at 18 years old, still was only five foot, and not likely to grow, still looked frail but wasn't. Not physically, anyway. Though he could not match the raw power of the known fighters, he had all he needed. He still limped slightly, but otherwise moved with the fluid grace that implied wiry muscles instead of none.

He hadn't changed much inside, either, not in the ways that mattered most to those who knew him. Though he had exchanged the child-like enthusiasm of the normal high-schooler for the sober wariness of the oft-embattled warrior, he was still fiercely loving, and had a care for those who crossed his path. That he rarely made the first move anymore, still troubled him. That part of what he had lost, he wished to regain...

He remembered when he first came here...the day of the first SAEMH assembly. Nathan Zerricks, presiding. Remembered everything that happened that day, and everything since. Sometimes he wished he didn't...but that meant forgetting things that reminded him of those he loved, things that they had done for him, and he for them...

For them, he would not regret the memory of the worst horror. For they had been the ones to pull him out of the worst that had been.

Most importantly, that they had been there at all...that they existed at all, and had become a part of him. His strength, his very soul...

From the first day, to now, especially, one...the first one he had every really spoken to, here. Neo had been there, for nearly everything...in return he had done him a service or two...but nothing like equal. They had been apart, more than together, a keen regret, not unlike one he had for another mutual friend, who had also saved his life, many times...

But a regret, unresolved. Teo had avoided him, ever since that singular turningpoint. He had seen the look in Neo's eyes, mirror to his own, when they saw what he had caused, the death that he had made possible. He had turned away then, stricken, at the thought of Neo's hatred, had not dared to touch his mind since. Could bear it from Kaie, but not from him...

But Neo, all of them, from that first day, had still come to Seishou's Realm, as if that hadn't happened. To be there for him, not even knowing what they could do. Their presence had saved him, again...

Perhaps that was why he found himself walking away from the Realm, in a rare, tentative respite from his self-imposed exile...He couldn't bear anymore, not knowing...couldn't bear, anymore, to not give comfort to another he knew must be grieving...

He was soaked by the time he got to the tree, and the tracks on his face were not all from the rain....

"Neo - " He did not dare call him brother yet, he was not sure he had the right, anymore...he stopped, eyes wide, realising he had no idea what to say next, and stood uncertainly, some feet away. Not looking at him, exactly, in that way he had, when he was nervous or troubled, but not reaching with his power, not feeling either. Not wanting to be a burden, still...

He was so out of it at the moment that he didn't even hear the other boy coming up to him. Neo's gaze gontinued to look forward, completely oblivious to his surroundings. It wasn't until he heard the very familiar voice call his name that he snapped back inot reality, before turning to see if it was him or not. Sure enough, there was Teo, standing there soaked to the bone. He also saw the rain dripping down his face, but before he said anything, Neo also saw the expression that was there as well.

Not much passes his eyes when it came to those he could honestly consider his friends, and in his little brother's case, whenever he was suffering always came to mind. Not because of the fact that he was terrible at covering it up, but because he understands that there are times where he suffers greatly for everyone either around him, or the ones he knows and deeply cares about. Finally, he ended the long, awkward silence by sliding over a little, patting the ground for him to take a seat.

"...Hey Teo. Come on, have a seat. Sorry if I'm not the most uplifting person at the moment. Just have a lot of stuff on my mind right now..."

Neo tried his best to look like he was at least appreciative that Teo came and spoke to him, but there was too much confusion that he was wading through in his mind right now. Whatever happened to him lately, must have put a lot of stress on his conscience.

Teo had been very careful to not use any power, to give Neo perfect freedom. He wanted Neo to be as honest as Cypher had been. He had to know what Neo felt about Gengoro's death, and his part in it...but if he touched Neo's mind even a little, he feared getting back only a reflection of his own wishful thinking..

It felt odd, after so long, to rely only on surface things, to not delve within, but he knew his empathy could be coercive, too, and he had never wanted to control anyone...if he could only know when he was doing it...if only he could be sure, that the emotion that he felt coming back to him was real...Winter had had to learn that lesson, by losing a love...would Teo learn it by losing a brother?

Neo's gesture was unexpected, but welcome.

"Uplifting? More than you know..."

Teo took the spot Neo had left for him, and huddled there, arms hugging his knees, looking back out into the rain.

"Neo?" he began quietly. "If your mind was being controlled...would you know it?"

"Neo? If your mind was being controlled...would you know it?"

That, by far, had to be the most unusual and interesting icebreaker that Neo had ever heard. Especially coming from Teo, that was the most unusual part about it. Though he probably had a good reason to ask that, he had to think on the approprate answer for a moment. For him, mind control was probably a subject he wouldn't have to worry about much, seeing as though he's got two different ones dwelling in his head. Though he did have a good control on both, there were the odd times where Yami had his way, and was in control.

"Hmm... Yeah, I think I would. If not immediately, then eventually." Teo could check and check again, and no matter what, he's sure to tell that Neo was telling the truth. But if there was anything his little brother could count on, it was that Neo always told him the truth. He was still concerned on why he would ask that though.

"I will admit though, I'm curious to know why you'd ask. What's wrong?"

Teo did not speak for a long time. It was hard, even though Neo did not seem concerned. He spoke haltingly, as if embarrassed.

"Brother..." he sighed. "I have found I have the power of coercion. I am afraid that I am using it unconsciously...on my own loved ones..."

"How else to explain, why you are always there when I need you, even at the risk of your own lives...It seems that I take too much from you, and give little in return..."

He didn't look at Neo, feigning an interest in how slowly a single drip of rain took to crawl down a leaf and fall into a puddle below.

"If I have done such, I wish to make amends...I sensed you were troubled, and I hoped I might...be able to do something?"

Teo shifted, uncomfortable. It was not so much the guilt of having been caught doing something wrong, but the heavy weight of having gone against his own moral code. It would give him no peace...but he could not not have the power, and he could not be sure he was not using it now, to influence Neo to a kind response...

So, he tried to force him to a negative one, unexpectedly, to see what would happen...A subtle mist aimed to fill Neo's mind, breathing threat, to make him feel that he faced an enemy...

Lucita remained still in her position atop of the tree, tucked safely away between two heavy branches that could carry much more than twice her weight, hidden by a thick layer of foliage. She had not been intending to eaversdrop, but had decided for no apparent reason to just remain still, instead of immediately jumping down as the unfamiliar meta sat down by the base of the tree.
Now she found herself regretting that decision, as she was growing uncomfortable sitting there, but unable to ease her position up, either, as every small sound might alert the one sitting beneath her. And how did she justify not immediately revealing her presence, when he first came there?
She pondered explaining that she had fallen asleep up there - not entirely far-fetched, when she caught sight of a familiar face through a small peeking hole between the leaves. Tateo Minamino, the tele-empath.
Now this was just about the last she needed, she decided, and grimaced silently. Not that she would turn down a chance to spy on him, but she had not gotten around to setting her programmed mental wards to the test against a telepath; certainly not one as strong as Teo. She would've loved to actually see if it worked, or if the British intelligence department's methods was inferior to that of Warp Inc., but not in a position that might leave her standing out ...

There was nothing to be done about it now. She remained where she was, watching them both with cold, emotionless eyes, attempting to empty her mind to aid her programming in hiding her from both of their supernatural powers.

Mana wandered onto the courtyard. She found it oddly deserted eventhough it was only raining. She didn't care about the rain though, she liked it.
She would have casually walked up to a rather large tree except for the fact that it was occupied by two people having a seemingly touchy conversation. Instead of involving herself in emotions, she continued to walk towards the tree, seemingly invisible unless someone knew she was there. With the same stealth and silence, she climbed the tree, only to find that the tree was also occupied. She managed to keep her scilence, and (as she always does) checked to make sure her gloves were on properly.

An almost undetectable rustle caused Lucita to sharply twist her head about, a pair of dark brown eyes quickly darting about, scanning everything around her - her body had tensed to full alert, but doubt and confusion was starting to grow visible on her symmetrical features.
She glanced down to ensure that neither Tateo, nor his companion had been the cause for the quiet sounds, then she lifted her head to see if it had been a bird landing on a branch - nothing showed itself as the apparent cause, and she frowned in sudden worry over that her highly amplified senses had somehow deceived her.
A small crack beneath her caused her heart to skip a beat, and then started sinking in her chest, as she watched a piece of bark - already sitting loose, and broken completely off by her weight - fall gently through the air, down to the base of the tree, and landing perfectly right in Neo's lap.
So now she was exposed. Lucita closed her eyes for a moment, her lips moving in a quiet and unvoiced 'damn it', before she leaned back against the tree, to watch the two beneath her and gauge their reaction - unaware that she was not alone in the tree. She sent them an almost sad smile.

"Hello."

What else was she supposed to say?

"Teo... you haven't done anything to influence me, just believe me on that. Everything I've done, no matter how small or large, was my own doing. I chose to help you all those times, as well as accept your help when I needed it the most. Don't worry little brother, there aren't any amends you have to make with me."

Neo tried his best, but all he could do is sit there as he was Teo just looking so uncertain about everything. For the longest time, he tried to comprehend the amount of thoughts and feelings that his brother dealt with on a daily basis, but he just felt himself getting more and more lost. Empaths had to have one of the most difficult lives, he imagined. At that moment, something around him felt strange, like everything was becoming cloudy all of a sudden. What startled him the most was the sudden amount of hostility in the air. Where was it coming from, what could exude that much at one time? So many questions was flooding his mind all at once.

The only thing that mattered was the fact that it didn't feel safe at that moment. And with the uncertainty of who it could be, all Neo could do was try to get to his feet, his hand clinched into a fist. But before he could stand, he heard a snap, then suddenly something fell out of the tree, surprisingly landing into his lap. To hell with danger at that moment, he only had a nervous twitch as he smacked his fist dead into the tree to divert the pain, actually causing it to shake from the force.

"...Ow."

He had heard the hello coming from the other girl, but he couldn't return it at that moment. You see, he was too busy biting his lip due to what had happened. That, and he was trying to shake off that feeling he was undergoing at that moment.

Sitting in a bench draped in small grey overcoat, protected by a massive umbrella propped up beside her was a girl with long brown hair who said nothing about the what was happening behind her. She was re-reading her favorite book, 'Night' by Elie Wiesel, pouring over the graphic details fully immersed in the literature. There was something about this story, something about the holocoust that seemed unreal. Yes, this girl had fought and killed demons along with an assortment of otherworldy creatures but her opponents all had the same thing in common, they were inherently evil. But this was a story of man's hatred for another based on something that she considered trivial. She was still young and although she knew of the violence mankind created, the extermination of a group was unfathomable. It was ironic though that the only person she had ever gotten to know since she came to AHS two years ago was just like Hitler in some respects. Hell-bent on genocide, determined to kill all meta-humans and all because of the Satan Fe incident as they called it.

This girl was called Raine although she had not heard it uttered by someone in a long time. She was alone now and she had come to accept that was how it would always be. Her life would be lived helping those that needed it with little to know thanks for her work. Raine sighed deeply, she hated when she thought like this, like nothing good would ever happen to her. Raine longed to look on the bright side and always be hopeful and she was sometimes but not often enough. Ultimatly Raine was lonely and slowly it was killing her.

She had just finished where Elie and his family were being shipped off to concentration camps when a loud splashing sound hit her umbrella knocking it over and instantly soaking her in rain. Raine slammed the book shut and shoved in her damp coat while she scrambled to pick up her umbrella. It was covered in leaves and when she looked up at the tree behind her she was amazed to see most of the leaves were flung from it. From her angle Raine could just see a fist right up against the trunk and putting it all together knew the fist was the source of the problem. What she found was she stamped across the wet grass was something that at any other time might have been considered funny or at least odd. A boy with a strained expression on his face slamming his fist into the tree with a large piece of bark in his lap along with what looked like a junior high student sitting next to them. But now she was less amused and more livid at the fact that the book she cared for was now ruined.

"What the hell is your problem?" She directed this to the boy punching the tree.

For a moment, Neo didn't react to anything. He heard what Raine had to say, but there was just no movement on his part in response. He didn't even look up to see or acknowledge either Lucita or Mana in the overhead branches. Finally, after closing his eyes, he simply grabbed the piece of bark from his lap into hand, and rose to his feet, his now sligntly damp hair drooping in front of his face. Without any warning, he flung the bark at Raine's general direction, not aimed to hit her or anything, but rather to get it away from him. She would see that it would collide with another tree further away, causing it to shatter on impact.

Neo: "...Not now...."

In his head however, Neo was sitting down with his legs crossed, looking away from what was happening, like there was a lot on his mind. His "confidant" however, was just looking at him like he was insane or something. Of all the crazy things he's done in the time they've been together... this was just out in left field. It was only cause Neo was dealing with the mist, but his counterpart wasn't...

Yami: Are you fucking kidding me? You want me to rough HIM up? Weren't you the one who said that you'd kick the living shit out of me if I did anything to him?
Neo: ...Just don't go too far. I said that I would know if something was trying to control my mind, now I have to prove it.
Yami: *cracks knuckles* Whatever man...

In the blink of an eye, while Teo was trying to influence him, a pair of hands shot out and grabbed him by the collar, picked him up from the ground, and slammed him against the tree, the next thing he would see the scowling face of his brother staring dead into his eyes, but they weren't the calm shade of jade they usually were. This time, they were narrowed, and they had a piercing, pissed off shade of yellow. If anyone around him had noticed, they would see that Neo's hair grew out slightly as well.

Yami: "Is this what you wanted Teo, huh? To see me angry? Enraged? Pissed the fuck off? Come on, try and coerce me now. DO IT!!"

ooc: To those who's around them at the moment, you might want to step in now...

Finally, it happened, just like with Cypher. He had to see, had to know for himself...Swift as the wind-master he was, blinding swift, as he had countered Gengoro. Teo felt himself lifted, slammed backward so hard his teeth rattled and his head spun.

"No!" Teo, cried, but the look in his eyes might not have been what Neo expected. A fierce exultation, a the light of his power grew from his back and limned his features. "No, interference! Not from anyone! Not even you, Neo! Release him!"

As he could feel Lavin, and Matthew, within Linis, Cypher within Gengoro, Winter within himself, long past, he could feel Yami within Neo. He could feel the gentle, non-strained calm, Neo directing his alter not to harm him. Neo, not affected, directing Yami to display what he coerced. Deliberately, and uncontrolled.

"Is this what I want?" Teo's grin was almost feral. " Yes! I have to know! Release him, Neo, no conditions, no reprisals!"

Black eyes stared , deadly serious into yellow wolf eyes.

"Do it, you say. Than I SHALL..."

A thick mist grew in the mind of his brother, sweet, gentle, patient, paralysing, subtle, invisible. It would simply feel like his gentle brother's mental touch. Teo had to see if he could stop Yami if he was really serious....and do it without being noticed by one who was expecting it...

Raine didn't have much time to insult the boy further as he flung the piece of bark towards her. She was sure it was aimed for her so she dodged to the side as it hit something and broke. She was just about ready to bite off his head for throwing that at her when he picked up the small boy and held him against the tree knocking more loose leaves free. Raine brushed off her wet form as she tried to make sense of what they were saying but it seemed too inside to make sense to a bystander. Still she knew what she had to do.

Raine phased her hand through Neo's and grasped Teo by the front of his shirt, she pulled his body right through the other and gently lowered the small boy to the floor. She was still in a huff about the state of her book but felt it better for the time being to put that aside. Now Raine found that everything still concentrated on this boy who seemed to have gone mad, she also knew that something was off about him, either he was posessed or something inhabited his body besides himself.

"Jesus Christ! What the hell is the matter with you two!"

((OOC: Meep! I completely forgot about this thread! X_x Very sorry, folks ))

They did not seem to be paying much attention to her, even though she had clearly been seen; Lucita remained in the same position with an almost lazy quality over her - but her eyes remained sharp, watching, considering.
Then the bigger guy punched at the tree - she could easily imagine how much that punch would have hurt, but she was more busy keeping her balance. It had been a very powerful strike that had shaken the entire tree; her own cat-like balance had saved her from a fall, but she did not appreciate that he had done it. She -might- have fallen.
Eyes narrowing in annoyance, she straightened a little up, then caught sight of yet another person sitting on a bench further away - not quite pleased with Neo's actions, either.
Watching quietly, Lucita prepared herself to lean back down against the branch she was sitting on - deciding that Raine could voice displeasure enough for both of them - but then Neo suddenly caught ahold of Tateo Minamino and lifted him up, prssing him up against the tree.

She had heard their comments and already realized that this was some sort of test, but the look that came over Neo suddenly shouted danger to every one of Lucita's senses, and she acted entirely by instinct - she held no particular fondness for Teo, but she could not watch him get pounded to a pulp, either.

"Oh no, you don't; we aren't playing like that ... we are -not- playing like that!"

She tensed, then launched herself out of the tree and landed nimbly next to Neo and Teo; ducked in case Neo would automatically directed a hit at any interrupters, and then thrust her elbow to the side and up, aiming for Neo's face; there was a great deal of force behind it, enough to temporarily stun any normal human being. And break his nose. But of course, these weren't quite normal humans ...

Of course, Yami was quite upset at what had just happened. There he was, having a nice heated discussion with his counterpart's close friend, and what happens? First, someone has the utter audacity to step in, put her hand right through him, and drag Teo away, then someone else jumps out of a tree and tried to smick him around? If this was anywhere else, he'd be trying ti figure out what the hell was happening. But in response to Lucita's albow, he didn't move at all, except to catch it bare handed. He didn't even wince after it hit his palm... matter of fact, he didn't feel much at the moment, aside from anger. You didn't need to be an empath to feel the seething frustration coming from him at that moment, as his hatefilled eyes were staring deadlocked in front of him, as he took the time to answer Raine's question.

"What's the matter? You really want to know what's the so-called 'matter' here?"

As he started walking forward, he just shoved Lucita's elbow out of the way, not with enough force to hurt anything in her arm mind you, but just enough to shove her out of the way a bit. Even if Raine and Lucita tried to throw a punch or something, they'd only see that they were going right through him every time. He was walking normally at that moment, but in all actuality, even as he stopped and stood over Teo, he was also moving faster then the naked eye could possibly comprehend to dodge everything coming at him as well.... and he wasn't moving at his top speed either, that was the most freightning thing about it all.

"The thing is, this little twerp tried to infect my head, and tried to force me to beat the living hell out of something, even though I wasn't in the damn mood to for once. All because he wanted to see if his little fears were there. So shrimp, you got your big wish after all, is this what you really fucking want?"

And just then, his right hand clinched together into a fist, and with a lot of force, plunged it down in the direction where the shorter young man's head was laying. But the thing is, what it actually hit was the ground about 6-7 inches from his face. Teo would also feel a couple drops hit his forehead, but it wasn't from the rain.

"But... it's not what I want..."

The reality was, Neo was crying at that moment. The frustration and anger that he was fuming out before had disappeared, as his eyes and hair had returned to normal. Now, as he slumped backwards, all he felt was depression and sorrow over what he had done, not only to Teo, but to Raine and Lucita as well.

"...Why little brother? I told you, I did all of that because I wanted to, not because you were forcing me to, but because I wanted to. I never wanted to act like that, not to intentially try to harm either of these two around us... but I had to show you that you weren't controlling me. Please... don't make me do that again."

Escaping was becoming harder and harder as Keo’s caretakers began to catch on to all her devious tricks. In fact, she’d been unable to successfully escape anywhere for so long that she thought herself going crazy. The real problem was that her mother could practically see everywhere at once and her father could feel everywhere at once, and that didn’t take into account the other people around like her Uncle Winter.

Gritting her teeth together in frustration, Keo continued to lay on her back and stare blankly up at the ceiling. She knew of a way to escape the empathy, blocking her own emotional signature so that others couldn’t find her but she knew that doing that caused a great deal of worry for a lot of people so she did it only in emergencies and even then, sparingly. There was no way to escape her mother though, at least not one that she’d discovered. The only times she’d escaped that watchful gaze was when Cyra was so caught up in something else that she let her concentration on her daughter’s location relax. 'She’s becoming more and more like she was before I left home,' Keo thought gloomily.

The truth was, Keo did know of a way to escape Cyra’s vision but it wasn’t something she could do yet. Or in all likelihood, ever be able to do. Like Cyra becoming wind, Keo hypothesized that she could one day become light. But it was merely speculation and of no use to her current predicament. With a heavy sigh, Keo rolled to her feet and bounded on silent feet to the kitchen in a hope to find something to munch on.

“Don’t even think about it!” Cyra’s voice called from the other room, freezing Keo in her tracks. “You already had lunch and snacking before supper isn’t good for you. Speaking of which, it’s time for your nap.”

“Aw mom... I’m too old for naps! At least let me wait until daddy comes back.”

Cyra walked into the room, sizing up her daughter while she thought. She had no idea when Teo would be back. That didn’t mean she didn’t know where he was. There were few people that she cared for that she couldn’t immediately pinpoint their location. Her mind was always partially open to the air, allowing her to see where others could not. From the looks of things, Teo might not be home for awhile and Cyra knew why. She knew what haunted him and for that reason, did not intervene or attempt to help in any way. Doing that would only cause more doubt in the mind of the one she loved. “Sorry hun, not today.”

Keo turned her best pathetic puppy dog eyes and pout on her mother but Cyra simply laughed at her and sent her to bed anyway. Mumbling as she hopped into her bed and pulled up the covers, Keo had no intention of actually going to sleep. Ears perked, she listened as Cyra settled onto the couch and relaxed before her breathing slowly evened out. Grinning, Keo slipped from bed and grabbed a pair of shoes and an umbrella with ducks on it. Tiptoeing to her window she opened it merely enough so she could wiggle out and then began to slosh through the mud, trying to find something to amuse herself. Back on the couch, Cyra sighed as she watched her daughter “escape”, this meant another day of watching from the background and staying on full alert. Not that she truly would have relaxed until Teo got home.

Coincidence or instinct led Keo to the courtyard where she crouched low behind a tree for a moment or two when she saw the commotion going on there. She recognized two faces immediately and almost leapt forward upon that recognition but something held her back. Watching the scene play out, she flinched slightly when Neo punched down towards her dad, knowing full well that he would never hurt him. Had she been human, she would have missed his next words but her ears picked them up.

Slumping against the tree, Keo suddenly understood why Cyra had seem so preoccupied, only giving the expected responses to her instead of verbally sparring with her like she usually did when Keo was being uncooperative. Now sitting in a mud puddle, Keo was unsure whether she should publically announce her presence or not. Her presence was already known by at least one of the others assembled so she didn’t think of it as showing her presence. In the end she decided to sit quietly and not intervene or go away, simply watch from the sidelines in case her daddy needed her.

Startled, Teo found himself yanked to a safety he did not want.

"No...I said, no interference! I...need this...I need to know..."

He watched Neo without and within, with intense concentration, missing nothing.

And he felt the tears dropping like rain. It felt like they burned, touching him. He closed his eyes, holding back his own.

"Why, little brother, I told you...please don't make me do that again..."

"You see...I have used coercion" said Teo whispered quietly.
"Not that of power...but something worse. I have manipulated you, simply by my nature. I have taken the love you bear me, and yanked it like a choke chain, all for the soothing of my fears. Your other self is right...I am a self-serving little twerp, when it is my own needs at stake..."

"But...if you can one day forgive me for doing what any selfish insecure child would do - I promise, Neo, not ever again - "

He was heedless of those around him, even his own daughter, except to be vaguely glad that there were witnesses to his outbreak of stupidity. It seemed just, that they would see this, and know that he was far from perfect.

Teo suddenly launched himself into Neo's chest. Trembling, his voice rushed and rough with tears.

"I have been a total idiot since...since he died! Reckless, foolish, going against what he taught me. Did you know I once deflected his purgatis, because I feared it would kill Eli and Kaie? He was right, Neo, I should have let him, even if they died...Then, after he...afterwards I nearly got myself killed half-a-dozen times trying to finish what he started."

"I miss him, Neo, and...and I knew that you felt as badly, but...I never even came to you, to comfort you! I...I thought you would hate me, for causing his death. I knew you would try to hide it if you did...I had to try to provoke it out of you..."

Lucita's eyes widened slightly in surprise as she felt her elbow caught in a firm grip, but she merely reacted to one blocking, by throwing in another attack. She leaned her weight against the elbow, against him, and moved her left leg out in a sweeping kick - that hit nothing but empty air, and the next moment she was shoved aside by her elbow; she kept her balance only thanks to her heightened reflexes, and she was half-way turned about with her fist clenched ready for a punch, when she registered the conversation and halted. She did not lower her hand or relax any, but her eyes showed clear confusion and annoyance. The danger she had anticipated, had turned into ... tears.

Blinking, she relaxed and stepped back, placing both hands on her sides as she stared on the people around her - Teo and Neo most of all. Such a chaos of emotions; it was giving her a headache.

She took another step back from surprise as Teo launched himself into Neo's arms, and her expression took on annoyance.

"Oh boy, get a room or something. Using powers on each other, lamenting the past and your own weaknesses ..." She shook her head with what could only be disgust. She glanced toward's Neo's hand, then lifted her gaze to his face; her eyes were like the opposite of Teo's - hard, unforgiving, and sharp. Like a steel blade. She nodded towards the blood-splattered fist. "You acted as much a fool as he did. Maybe you ought to tell him not to heal that; looks like you could need a reminder of not to humor idiocy.

As for you ..." She turned towards Teo, frowning towards him.

"You got some serious martyr issues, Tateo Minamino. Couldn't stop thinking about others; now you can't stop thinking about yourself. And you apparently can't stop thinking about the past, either. Whatever happened in the past, whatever problems you have now, I highly suggest that you deal with it and move ON, instead of parading the courtyard with your drama. Especially not in front of the kids."

Lucita had noticed Keo a few moments ago, and now started walking towards the girl - she had no idea who Keo was, but she did not find the present situation suitable for a child to witness - would probably be more angry, if she knew who Keo's father was. She walked quickly and smoothly over towards the child, started kneeling down and reached out - intending to pick her up, and carry her away.

"Hello there ..."

Mana let her ambient rage get the better of her today... people being all mushy... too many people... too many emotions, even if she wasn't an empath, she was still being drowned in feelinds that she had drowned out of herself long ago.
It just made her discusted on some level, whatever it was, whoever they were, or whatever happened, they should get over it. Mana hated this situation where she could hardly breathe, maybe it was because of her fear of groups of people.
"Why did I come over here," she thought.

All the apologies almost started to overtake Neo at that moment. That is, until Teo brought that subject up, causing him to turn his head away. The short amount of tears had already stopped falling from his eyes, he only listened to everything that his little brother had to say. The loss of thelr equal brother was one of the only things that's dragged him down, but he has never let it known to Teo, not even once. Even his trying to provoke it out of him didn't work, instead, Neo only waited until apologies were finished before matting around Teo's hair like he usually did before returning to his feet.

"...Don't worry about it so much. It's in the past, not much more we can do about that now, is there? Just look towards the future, right?"

And with that, he also reached into his pocket as he walked towards Raine. He noticed the close to ruined book in her hands, and knew that deep down, that was all his fault. So he pulled out a ten thousand yen bill (approximately $100 US dollars), and gently placed it into her hand. He even looked up unto the tree and saw Mana, before bowing to show his apologies to her as well.

"Here, to replace the book. Don't worry about the change, just my way to say that I'm sorry for what I did to you just now.

With that done, that only left one thing to do. Turning towards the only other person who was involved in this, Neo walked over and noticed a rather familiar looking tail nearby. And of course, it was attatched to the only little girl he couls even possibly call his niece, even if it wasn't by blood. Speaking of which, he looked down at his left hand, and saw that it was still bleeding slightly, but this wasn't a sight that would have made him panic nowadays. While standing over Lucita, he simply waved over to Keo, while keeping a single finger to his mouth just so he can say his piece.

"...You know, this isn't the first time I shed my blood for anything. To prove my point, to help save the lives for those who are in need, to defend this school... I've done so without a lingering doubt in my mind. If you think about it, everyone, human and meta-human alike, are all fools. Everyone has tendancies of, what you call, foolishness and idiocy. Not to have those, or even experience them in your life... would mean that you're less then human."

Sighing loudly, he simply turned away from everyone, like he's on his way over to the main street that leads away from campus. But only after making about three steps, he stopped to turn his head towards the little girl. All she'll see would be the same smile on his face that he's sure she's seen in the future.

"Do me one favor though Keona. Tell your mommy hi for me, and keep an eye on your daddy too, ok?"

Before anyone could ask, all they would see would be a blur that was vivible for a split second, and the accompanying gust of wind that had to follow suit. By now, Neo was about halfway towards his now permanant home in Domino...
