What did he see beyond his fists? This was a question Ryu had started asking himself with more frequency. Throughout his time at AHS, he often questioned his purpose, questioning his need to fight. On one hand he disliked fighting, all it did was take away the things that made him happy. However, when Ryu fought it was the only time he truely felt alive. It was the only time when all the problems he had and fears and doubts he constantly felt disappeared and all he had to worry about was the person in front of him. He was a fight addict. What was it that Ryu saw when he looked beyond his fists? His opponant? His fate? Death?

The wind was swirling wildly around him as the energy that existed within him pushed outwards, his golden aura surronding his body. It was raining, but Ryu was not wet, his aura causing the rain to evaporate before it could touch him. He was exuding an extremely large amount of energy and if any students were able to feel ki in the slightest, they'd feel Ryu's energy in the air. The more sensitive to it, the more overwhelming it felt. Ryu had his reason for doing this, pushing himself to the upper limits of his power, he was calling some one out. If Ryu was right, it wouldn't be long until she had to respond.

For a while Lili had toyed with the idea of just ignoring the presense of her father. She couldn't face him anyways, the hatred she felt burned so strongly. However, Ryu had shown his hand, blatently calling her out. He wanted her to come. Undoubtably, someone had told Ryu about what had happened to her, about she felt towards him. There was no doubt in her mind that Ryu knew that they would have to fight. Well, that was fine with her. She'd make sure Ryu would pay for leaving her, letting her mother die like that....

Ryu:"I was wondering when you'd come."

It didn't take Lili very long to get from the mountain to the Lake. Ryu lowered the amount of energy he was letting off, his aura flaring in a calm and controlled manner. Lili's hair had gotten wet and a few bangs were stuck to her forehead. He turned around to face his little girl, hoping deep down that Teo and Tamara were wrong. He was surprised at how beautiful his little girl had become. Despite the hardness and depression that etched itself into her face, Lili was still quite beautiful. Ryu was about to say something, but Lili cut him off, obviously annoyed.

Lili:"You wanted me here, so what do you want?!? I don't have all day now."

Ryu:"I-I just wanted to talk to you...."

Lili:"Sure you did. I'm guessing Teo told you about me? He probably told you about how I feel about you, am I right? Well, come on! Spit it out!"

Ryu:"You're so crass! I wanted to....apologize...for being a terrible father...."

He was hoping that the apology would sooth the rage of his daughter, however deep down Ryu wanted a fight. He felt terrible for it. Anyways, the apology didn't seem to have the effect Ryu was hoping it would. She seemed to be getting angrier in fact.

Lili:"Apologize!?! An apology isn't going to bring back mommy! An apology isn't going to bring my fucking childhood back! An apology isn't going to help me remember what happened to me after being kidnapped!"

Ryu:"I-"

Lili:"NO! No more talk! You knew this was going to end in a fight! So guess what?!? I'll see you DIE!"

The amount of rage was simply shocking to Ryu. Lili came at Ryu quick with a flurry of punches. However, her anger made Lili sloppy and her punches were easily dodged by Ryu. Grabbing her fists, Ryu shoved Lili back, reluctantly getting into a fighting stance. Ryu knew deep down that he outclassed Lili in strength, speed, and experience. This would be an easy fight, yet it is the hardest one he ever fought. Despite letting off so much energy earlier, Ryu still felt fine, easily remaining in Chaos Mode. He'd be able to hang in a long fight, however he was sure it wouldn't last long.

After being pushed away, Lili quickly regained her balance and was back on Ryu with another flurry of punches. However, no matter how quickly she threw her punches, she could not hit her father. He was too quick, Lili being lucky to even get a glancing blow. Was Ryu really that powerful. She looked up from her attack into the face of Ryu. What she saw caused her hesitate. There was no grin, no look of determination, not even a look of boredom. Just a blank, emotionless stare.

With Lili's hesitation, Ryu had an opening. Suddenly increasing the amount of energy in his aura, he was able to use the force from his ki to send Lili flying back. She hit the ground hard, but not enough to seriously hurt her. She climbed up onto one knee, but when she looked up, Ryu was standing over her.

Ryu:"Lili, stop this. I don't want to hurt you."

Lili:"Fuck you!"

Ryu:"*sigh* I'm not going to fight with you anymore. I hope in time...you'll forgive me...."

Ryu turned around and started walking away, sure that the fight was over. He went out of Chaos Mode, going back to his regular level of energy, the rain quickly soaking him. He had no desire to harm his daughter and a fight with no challenge was not a fight he wanted to take part of. He hoped that Lili would one day learn to forgive him for what he did, he felt bad enough for it as it was. He didn't need his flesh and blood to tell him that he fucked up as a husband and father.

He would fuck up even more in a few moments.

Lili couldn't accept this. How could she lose when her father hadn't thrown a single punch? No, she had to win. She didn't remember when she made that goal, but she knows that's what kept her going these day. The chance to outdo, beat, and maybew even kill her father. There would be no rest until she did so. In a flash she was back on her feet, charging at Ryu while his back was turned. Her hands started to glow as the energy began to build up within her. She leapt into the air, quickly coming down on Ryu.

Lili:"TAKE THIS!"

He wasn't expecting Lili to attack again. His instincts took over as he spun around, picked an attack and used it with no thought given to who the target was. It was only recognized as an attempt on his life. One that he responded with an equally fatal counter-attack.

Ryu:"TEK WAVE!"

The blast issued from Ryu's hands didn't have very far to go. The blast hit Lili in the gut before easily tearing through her, forming a bloody hole in Lili's midsection. The size of the blast created such a large hole that it nearly tore Lili in half, her upper and lower halves only being held together by a few muscles and some skin. The force of the blast shifted Lili's momentum, sending her back the way she came. Lili hit the ground like a ragdoll, her limbs flailing lifelessly as she hit the ground before becoming still. Ryu stood there in the Tek Wave pose for a few moments before he realized what he had done. In an instant he was by Lili's side. Lili had started coughing up blood, her beautiful silver eyes starting to becoming life-less and dull. The grass she laid upon was becoming stained with Lili's blood. It was only a matter of time now.

Ryu took Lili in his arms, his tears starting to mingle with the rain. His daughter was dying in his arms, the worst nightmare for any parent. Things were fading out for Lili, but before everything went black, she saw Ryu holding her up, openly crying and this caused her to start crying too. Despite trying to kill him, despite her open hatred towards him, Ryu still loved her.

Lili:"D-daddy...?"

Ryu:"My little Liliana!"

He was going to lose Lili. There was no doubt about that. Another person taken from him. The pain was nearly unbearable for Ryu. Everything went black for Lili as death crept closer and closer. Lili started to feel scared as her senses began to leave her.

Lili:"Daddy, daddy *cough cough* where are you? Please don't leave me!"

Ryu:"I'm still here my little angel. I won't leave you...."

From somewhere lost in distance, carried only fainted by the breeze, came the crisp sound of alien music, tones long, deep and mournful as though the unseen piper could sense the gathered pain of the couple - the heart-breaking grief of a father, and the pain of a child that could no longer understand, no longer think, beyond the agony wrecking her body.
Silence huddled up in the oaken tree top, her shoulders lifted up towards the sides of her head, as if trying to cover her ears at the same time as she played with the wooden little panpipe, her lips moving across it reluctantly, as if against her own will. Tears could be seen, glistening on her cheek.
She had not approached the quarreling family members, not believing that it would grow to such severity, thinking that Lili - despite her emotional wounds, would come to find forgiveness in her heart for her father, and joy in his return. It would take a long, long while for trust to return, but it would come, Silence was confident.
The last thing she had expected, was for them to start fighting.
The initial blast of white-hot rage and hatred from Lili, had nearly made Silence fall down from her seat in the treetop; for a moment it blocked her own senses entirely with Lili's emotions, and she cringed away from it, and from her first impulse - to run to them, to soothe them down, to show them peace by her song. Wild fear was replacing that urge, however - she had had reactions from being exposed to strong emotions before, but never like this, never anything like this. She was a good while away from them, and yet, she could feel them both as if they were standing righ next to her. She could not begin to imagine what would happen if she started towards them, allowing herself to be exposed to the fury of this storm at close range.
She finally fell down from the tree - by accident more than intention, confused and unable to deal with the conflicting impulses, to hurry over to them and to run in the opposite direction. She landed hard in the grass on the side; her hip had taken off the worst of the impact, and felt stunned for a moment before the impact cleared, and she could assure herself of that nothing was broken - a stone had loged itself deeply in the skin; it would leave a bruise. She hardly noticed. Her mind was a chaotic mess of confusion. What to do? Winter, Cyra, Autumn and Teo. They would help.
Her thoughts were shattered as the blinding pain of Lili's wound tore into her, and she dropped to her knees with a ragged wail, clutching her own little body as though the blast had torn into her own flesh. Agony washed back and forth like tidal waves, crashing against her sanity and chipping pieces off it with each hit.
The sieze of her misjudgement now loomed over her, terrifing her. How could it come to this? What could have gone wrong?? Liliana! Oh no, Lili, please Lord, no ... Lili ... Teo, Winter, please .. Keo .. oh no ...
Tears now streaming down her face and her body being wrecked repeatedly by sobs, she sent one grief-filled image out to all able to sense it, before huddling in a bundle by the tree roots. Her mind was consumed by grief, no sane consistancy could be derived from it; the only solid and sane line of thought was a repeation of a single name. "Lili ..."

*slash slash*

The sound of Aeria's unlucky blade made a soft strike as she brought her weapon around in a circle. She still had strong memories of her stay here. The most vivid were her more violent memories, ranging from when she and Niko were on the run in Japan and found themselves in Africa. But one of her more painful memories was when she raised her weapon against her mother and father. It was her fault to a degree, but it was the darkness. The darkness that came from Serra's dragoon type. Now it had been transferred into her body.

Her training stopped when she saw something happening with a pair of people. She recognized one of them, it was Lili. She watched the conversation silently as she found out that the man was actually her father. Aeria could kind of understand the young girl's anger. It was the altered level of her rage that she felt for Serra when they were arguing and she had lost complete control of her body. The battle was fierce, and her father had won, but at a price. She watched as the silver haired girl had been practically been blown apart. She felt strong pangs of sorrow as she slowly began to die. But she couldn't let this happen. No parent should have to bury their child. She examined the wound, contemplating the best way to tend to it. If my dad used the Mantorok seven point magik pool, he can be able to restore her through regeneration. That would help her out a little, but she also needs a seven point recover from that alignment as well. Just hold on for a little bit longer. I won't let you fall in that way she thought to herself. She made her body known to everyone around the area as she pulled out a cell phone and started to dail for her father Andrew. Hopefully he will be able to pick up the phone in time.

Lili coughed a few more times, each one a little weaker than the last, each one taking a little more out of the dying girl. She seemed to be staring blankly into the sky, he eyes looking but not seeing anything.

Lili:"Daddy, I see, I see Mommy....She's waving at me....It's warm there...."

Normally the parent would be asking their child to stay away from the light, to come back to life, but Ryu could not ask that of his daughter. Her wounds were too great, both the emotional and physical ones. Ryu had failed her in everyway a parent could fail a child. He couldn't protect her from suffering. He couldn't protect her from living a life of misery.

He couldn't protect Lili from himself. That was the most terrible failure in Ryu's life.

His powers allowed him to protect and save, but more often they cause him to destroy. He destroyed lives, happiness, sometimes even whole cities. No matter what good Ryu tried to do, he only caused more problems for people. His battles against Korukushin in the large cities around the globe were a reason why the SAEMH was able to gain a foothold in the world. He, himself, destroyed Chicago. He ruined Con's life, he killed Johnny's only friend. Misfortune after misfortune, failure after failure.

Then Ryu felt it. Lili's ki had gone from fading to completely gone. Her body was limp, with no breaths being inhaled or exhaled. Her eyes had closed for the final time. This was easily the most painful moment in Ryu's entire life. Gently, Ryu took the worn-out, black trenchcoat off his daughter, noting the hole in it. He slung it over his shoulder before slowly standing up, letting the corpse of Lili lie on the ground. The hair plasted to his face obscured any emotion from being seen. The rain was still falling, but Ryu didn't notice. He just stood there, unfeeling and numb, looking down at his flesh and blood, now estinguished of all life.
