Minoru stared down in at the toxic refuse that was labeled as food that was served at the school. He may have chosen it from the line, but it was rather cold, he didn't like buffet style food because it has a tendancy to sit there. The dark blonde haired boy look on, wondering if it would simply be safter to go out for food, but found himself to lazy to take the initiative. Back home, the school let you go home for lunch, but then it was a small village, and he couldn't go home now anyway. The stone miniature of his deceased friend Youji sat next to his plate, looking back and forth between the plate and Minoru just sitting there stareing down into his plate full of a random assortment of food.

The stone figurine looked a bit worried at Minoru's distant look. The little replica picked up a french fry that laid upon the plate and held it up for his creator. Minoru waved his hand and a small smile came to his face.

"No thanks Youji, I'm fine. Besides, who knows how long thoes things have been sitting on the buffet line."

He was cut off by the sound of his stomach gurgleing. Again the little stone figure held the fry up and reluctantly, though still smirking, he took the fry and ate it. It tasted rather cold, not leaving a good taste in his mouth, but it was available.

"Yeah yeah, not a word out of you, arlight?"

Though saying that was near pointless since the doll couldn't speak anyway, though he often enough spoke into his mind. Minoru did his best to keep the voice out of his mind for the time being and continued to pick things off of his plate, a french fry, lettuce, a cherry tomato, the stone doll sat back down, a smile across his little stone face as Minoru looked a bit happyer as he ate.

Harlequin was in the lunchroom, sure. But she wasn't one of the students sitting alone at a table, staring down haphazardly at their food. No. She was serving it. But fortunatly, it paid her well, since nobody else really wanted the job. The school must have been quite prone to desperation at that time. She looked around the lunchroom in bored as she sat down beside the line during her break.

Nobody she knew... If she knew at least more then, what? five people? Chances are she didn't see, them, or they just weren't here. She hadn't spotted Minoru just yet... Though probably eventually would as she pulled out a word search book and pen, and continued on the last word search she left off on, on her last break.

Minoru looked up from his little snack with an old friend of his to see a newer one working the lunch line, who else would it be besides Harlequin. He held his hand down for his little stone friend to jump on and set him on his shoulder before walking over to the familiar girl. A grin wide on his face as he prowled behind her and tickled her sides.

"Hey there Harlequin, haven't seen you in a while. Nice choice of perfession."

He smirked, making light of her job serving the day old food, but she probably really needed the money, to each their own. He stepped back and plunged his hands into his pockets.

"Hows life treating you?"

Harlequin had just began to circle a word when Minoru had snuck up from behind. She giggled at his tickling digits and stood up, messing up the circle around the word and placing the book and pen upon the chair. She smiled, turning around to look at him and push the chair aside.

"Life is treating me like their stepchild...", she murmered, but shook off that thought and kept it for herself, for later.

"Everything is going fine though. How about you? No need to act as if we met as children or something. It's only been... what? A day since I last saw you?"

"Yeah, but I've been thinkin on alot of things, so it's nice to see a friend, even if we started off...... roughly I guess you could say. The way we started off, who woulda thought we could have ended up friends."

He smiled at Harlequin as he made his little remincal. The little stone figure which sat atop his shoulder waved toward Harlequin and then proceeded to nudge Minoru's ear, prompting him for something.

"Oh, right, where are my manners. Harlequin, this is Youji. I imagine you have a few questions about him. Let me start by saying, he was my best friend, before he died, then he sort of came to be like this. It's a very, very odd situation and its kind of creepy at times, but my dead best friend seems to be sitting on my shoulder. So say hi."

Youji smiled and nodded as Minoru explained a bit of the situation to the girl astanding before them. He stood up, leaning on the side of his friends head and nodded, smileing.

Harlequin stared at the figure blankly. Then her blank gaze turned in one of awe and disbelief. She stood there, as stiff as that 'rock' should have been. She tryed to blink, but couldn't. Instead, her mouth dropped wide open as she walked a circle around Minoru's shoulder, same expression on face. She attempted to poke it in the stomach as gently as possible. Perhaps it would giggle like the pillsbury doughdude?

"Y-your... Your freind!?"

"Yeah, his spirit still sort of hangs around. He died right before I realized my powers, so now I think he sort of lives in me, with them somewhere. Its the only reason that my village is the way it is now, though that is the reason why I got kicked out too.... Oh well. There are alot of interesting people to meet here at the school, you for example Harlequin."

He grinned at her, the little stone figure danced around a bit then climbed up onto Minoru's head.

"I think hes offended that you didn't think he was really in there."

Harlequin smiled, watching the little stone figure. She entended her arm up to it and held open her palm.

"Aww.. I am sorry Youji.", she said apologetically. She grinned.

"I just never seen a moving stone with someone soul in it..", she explained..

Hey! Well, it was true..

Youji hopped out onto her palm and sat there looking up at her with a smile across his face. His body was lighter then what would be expected and he was made in such amazing detail.

"I was messing around with my powers, and suddenly he manifested from a stone. I had never intended upon making him, but he was made nonetheless. I dont move him with my powers, but hes still moveing. Its weird, alittle creepy, but it's fine in the end."

He wisely chose to leave out the part of how he often heard the voice of Youji in the back of his mind. He didn't think priving her to that information just yet would make him seem the most sane of people.

Harlequin smiled back at the this miniscule figure in her palm. She smiled and scratched his head as if he was a dog or tiny hampster of some sort. She giggled as she studied it, whilst listening to Minoru speaking.

"Aww, he's so tiny and cute and cuddly, and wuvvy duvvy", she said, becoming all mushy as if Youji was a baby kitten.

Though she didn't mean to offend him if he was when she gushed up like that. He probably would like all of her attention if anything.

Minoru watched on as Marlequin played with Youji as he sat there in her hand. He watched in disbeleif because Youji wasn't normally like that, just so comfortable with being petted like some small creature. He didn't seem to mind at all..

"Wow Harly, he must like you, he dosen't usually get so friendly with people. Particularly ones who treat him like a toy or an animal. Though he does like being petted like that. You always were weird like that Youji..."

The body of the boy didn't have the feel of how it looked. It fealt alive, very life like. His hair fealt like real strands of hair, his stone skin was soft as real flesh. Were he not still the grey of the stone he was made from, he would look like a real human, only smaller.

"Hey, you think I should paint him? You know, so he looks real, because right now he looks like a rock."

She smirked, listening to his question. She shrugged, nuzzling the miniscule Youji and then handing him back to Minoru.

"Sure.. If you want him to look and feel like a wad of dried paint."

(sorry, short, multi-tasking. ;_;)

"No, its not like that. Its just... haven't you noticed he seems.... well alive? I've made other little stone dolls, none of them seem to act of feel like him. It's like hes independant of everything that binds the other ones to me. So I could paint him and hed look real, but then again, my painting skills leave alot to be desired."

He took back his friends vessel and set him back on his little shoulder perch. Youji made a face at Minoru like he wanted to go back to Harlequin. Minoru noticed and sort of laughed.

"Sorry buddy, but I don't think she wants to take you full time, besides, if you did live with her, who's going to fix you if you start to wear down? She cute and all, yeah, but you need me man."

Youji pondered what Minoru had said, then nodded in agreement. He made a shrug to Harlequin, attempting to gesture a 'sorry' to her has he sat on his friends shoulder.

Harlequin blinked, watching little youhi perch atop Minoru's shoulder. She blushed at his remark and twiddled with a strand of her long auburn hair.

"Heh.. Yeah Youji, he's right... But you are alway welcome to come visit me whenever Minoru would like to.", she said with a large smile, cheeks still rosy from his comment.

But she didn't repond to it like she normally would for now, since Youji was there, and seeming to like her so well the way she had been acting.

"So why are you so nice to my friend, but you were so mean to me our first meeting. Hell, I had to tie you up and I still couldnt even get your name then"

He chucked lightly at his remark. They had gotten to a bad start at their first meeting, but things often start off rocky between people. Its funny how life treats you from time to time.

"Anyway, I think we will take you up on your offer. Well visit you, when your not killing people with this noxious food."

He took a few steps closer to the girl who still blushed so brightly at being called cute. He leaned into her and whisperd quietly into her ear.

"So, you can get me some free food right Harly?"

He stepped back and smiled at her.

She laughed, nearly too loud. Gesturing towards the dirt, smelly pots that had, until recently, contiained the substance wich the school called food.

"Would you really even be WILLING to eat that... Even if it WAS free?", she'd ask him, seeming quite serious but humorous. She grinned turning back toward him and Youji.

"But.. If you are serious.. I suppose so.", she'd add in, shrugged her shoulders.

And for his first question, she smirked, shaking her head roughly, hair bouncing about her shoulders.

"I am just a little... err.. cautious of strangers.. "

Minoru smriked and planted a quick kiss on Harlequins cheek. He figured it would set off her freaked out meter at a billion decibals.

"Thanks for the free trash Harley, I eat when I need to eat. Beggers can't be choosers you know."

He quickly made his way over and picked up a plate of french fries and nasty motzerella sticks. He then walked back to his companion and started to munch on the poor tasteing food, but he still tried to enjoy having something to ear.

"Anyway, since your not cautios of me anymore, we should hang out a bit more. The three of us."

Harlequin eeped and tried to pull her head back in time to avoid his little kiss, but instead she was too late. Images of gore flashed before her eyes and she grasped her head with her hands, not having expected such images. She fell limp, but instead landed in her chair, still covering her ears.

The vision of Youji possibly? When he was alive. and Minoru for sure as two little boys. Then gunshots rang throughout her brain and she whimpered to herself, hands putting more pressure upon her ears as if trying to block out the sound.

She heard something hit the ground and then another loud noise came about. This time it was a high-pitched ringing, that signaled she was in the calm. She brung her knees up to her chest and hugged her arms about them on the chair, rocking to and fro in a highly distraught manner. She buried her head ontop of her knees, sobbing at the aweful sight that just inscribed itself in her mind.

"Oh my god...", she whispered, fingers beginning to tremble.

It seemed it had happened all too quick after it was over, and Harlequins eyes hurt with the mere sight of the tragedy of Minoru... and possibly Youji's past. She sobbed, eyes wide open for a long time as she thought nothing of how she had done that right before Minoru. When it happened, Minoru was probably still filling his plate by the line by the time it was over. In all but a few moment Harlequin had gone from perfectly normal, to completely disheveled.

"H-Harlequin? What happened to you?"

He dropped his plate of fries as he knealt down to his friend as she sat crouched on the ground. What could have happened? What could make her turn to a sobbing mess such as this?

"Please, tell me what happened?"

He wasnt sure what to do. He placed a hand on her back, hopeing that whatever happened want simply because he had given the girl a small kiss.

(ooc: sorry for size.)

Harlequin yet again jolted in her seat, she stood up and ran quickly away a few steps and spun around to face Minoru, her legs then collapsing beneath her as the images now permanently etched into her memory. She saw everything. How Minoru met Youji, until how he heard Youji's last words.

Even how Youji spoke to him in his mind sometimes. She curled up into a little sobbing ball of brown hair and tears on the lunchroom floor, arms hugging her legs with a deathgrip. She closed her eyes shut and forced out three simple words to Minoru.

"D-don't... touch me.. ", she said, words stuttered between a sniffle. She lifted up a hand and wiped away a few tears, yet eyes still closed as she was furled into a tight-knit ball on the cafeteria floor.

"But Harlequin, what wrong, please tell me. What happened to you?"

His voice was raw with the concern that he had for her. She pushed him away and he had no idea why. Even the little Youji climbed down Minoru and hade his war to Harlequin. Minoru fealt horrible, the girl was sobbing and he could do nothing but watch on as she sat there, broken into tears.

Little Youji climbed onto the girls lap. He looked up at her, with his sad looking stone eyes and smiple placed his head on her, trying to hug her with his small, stone atms. He was sad too, sad that Harlequin was sad, sad that he was too small to do anything but look cute and give a comforting look.

"Please Harley, what happened? I'll do anything, just tell me how to help you."
