The day was slightly overcast, lingering clouds that still remained after a recent rain. They were slowly moving across the sky and away from the area, allowing the sun the gradually make its presence known during the last few hours before it started to sink below the horizon. Everything was wet a little, most of the water having evaporated at this point. But puddles still remained and drops still clung to the plants. The stillness of the air and enviroment gave what was left of Nightmare Campus an old and deserted feel. Which was how it was supposed, seeing how the school had closed down and was abandoned a long time ago.

Nightmare Campus was much like AHS in many ways when it was still in operation. It had a large mutli-building campus with dorms, a garden/courtyard, and many other buildings that a high school needed. Situated behind the campus was forest that once held demons and spirits alike, a lake, and a few other natuarl features that AHS had as well. In fact, NC was almost like AHS, only with a much darker feeling to it. The place was said to actually be the Earthly gate to Hell itself, and that it was built to guard the gate. It could be true, the campus did have occasions where it was ravaged by demons and monsters, most of which were of the perverted and tentacled type. But the "gifted" students and faculty always managed to just fend them off until they came back later on down the road. There is much more to it, but our story is not about Nightmare Campus, but the stoic man who stood in front of its remains.

NavV had come here in search of memories, the type of memories that cannot be stored in his databank, but the the type that stays in ones heart and soul. He had decided that coming back to a source that seemed to be linked to that memory might bring it completely back to him. His gaze roamed over what was left NC, most of it still stood, and it all brought him a sense of deja vue. His databank had no information on this place at all, but it all just felt familiar to him. He walked about the campus at a slow pace, allowing his eyes to take in all that was around him. In his minds eye, he could see everything like it had been when the campus was open and new. He could see students walking about and doing whatever students do. Then it all disappeared when he finally came to the garden. It was a large open courtyard that had a wide field with a large flat rock near the center of it.

Upon seeing the rock, he stopped and stared at it. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out the photo of the young girl [Link] whom was the center of the memory he was trying to recover. He looked at it, back at the rock, then back to the photo once more. He lowered the photo and slowly walked towards the rock, while looking at the ground like he was making sure where each footstep landed. Although he did not know it at the time, he was retracing the steps he had taken when he first met this girl. His minds showed that he was placing his footsteps so he did not step on the flowers that had once bloomed in this field. When he was a few yards from the rock, he stopped and looked up at it. Then a piece of the memory showed itself again.

[Flashback]

He was standing where he was now, but it was many years ago. The field was in full bloom and the sun was brightly shining. He looked up at the rock and on it was the girl. She was wearing short jeans and a t-shirt that was too big for her. The girl was watching the clouds, then she sensed that was NavV was watching her and turned to look at him. She gave a welcoming smile, and NavV looked back with a blank and emotionless face. He turned his gaze downward, as if he was ashamed.

NavV: "I'm sorry for bothering you. I did not mean to stare..."

???: "Oh! It's alright, I don't mind."

NavV looked back at her and her warm smile. For a moment there was silence. The girl then scooted a little to the side and patted the spot next to her.

???: "Why don't you join me?"

NavV: "Okay..."

Almost reluctantly and slightly timidly, he walked up to the rock and climbed on. He sat down next to her and looked down at her. Now that he was closer, he could get a detailed look at her. She was slender, petite, and gave off an aura of warmth that would welcome anyone. She had to look up at him because when comparing their heights, she would only come up to just below his chin. The brown-haired girl gently twirled a lock of her hair on a finger, mostly out of habit, not because she was flirting.

???: "What's your name?"

NavV: "...... I don't have a name..."

???: "Why?"

NavV: "Because objects don't have names..."

She was a little confused at this comment, but it would be explained to her later when she would find out he was a Nanocolony. She put a hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes with a sincere gaze.

???: "That still doesn't mean you shouldn't have a name. Think..."

NavV thought for a moment.

NavV: "I guess you can call me by my ancronym, NavV."

???: "Alright. Very nice to meet you NavV."

She held out her hand for him to shake. But at the time he did not know much about being Human, much less know what a handshake was. She kept her hand out for a bit, then seeing he did not know what to do, she took his hand in hers and showed him what to do with a smile.

???: "Like this."

NavV: "..."

???: "Well, my name is-"

[End Flashback]

He sighed to himself. The flashback had ended once more before he could even hear her name. But he recovered and walked up to the rock and climbed up like in the flashback. He sat on it and looked to his side where the girl had once sat. NavV tried to remember all that had happened at this spot.

NavV continued to stare at the spot where the girl in his memory had once sat. As he did, and as he tried his hardest to remember all that had transpired on that rock, the entire memory of what had occured started to come back to him gradually. It was just like the girl who had helped him back at AHS had said. That there are memories that can never be forgotten or erased, these are ones carried by the soul itself. The revelation that this soul, or Ghost as he called it, carried something that he had once erased. He did not know why he had had erased those memories or what they were about. but that was why he was here, to find out.

The memories that came back to him picked up after she had given her name, so he was still left in the dark of who she was. He remembered that she had asked why he had not smiled the entire time since they had come in contact with each other. NavV had responded by saying that he did not know how to smile, or make very many facial expressions at that. The girl was confused but immidietly started to teach him how to smile, first by giving him an example of her own bubbly smile. After a few failed attempts at trying to smile, she used her fingers to position his mouth in the right position. She seemed satisfied with how it turned out, and NavV was stoicly gratefully. After that, she asked him why he was the way he was. That is when it was explained to her that he was a Nanocolony. She was not all that surprised or shocked, she excepted him for who he was and offered to teach him what he wanted to know.

NavV inquired about her bra, the strap of which had become exposed when her t-shirt started to slip off her shoulder, and was explained its purpose. Then he asked about what the bra supported and was explained that, and in the process learned of how people in general acted with the nude Human body. She added in that she was not so uptight with people seeing her exposed body, not in a slutty of course, but she was not going to scream if someone walked in on her taking a bath. NavV even learned about her too. The girl was eighteen and had come here not as a student, but came here seeking work. She had taken the job as a janitor here at NC, and was given free room and board here.

When NavV could not think of much else to ask her at the moment, she smiled and laid back to sun herself on the rock. She stretched out on her back and let the sun's rays hit her. That is when NavV noticed something. He noticed that on her neck were bruises, the kind of bruises one gets when the victim is grabbed by the throat and choked or strangled. Feeling that he needed to pay her back for her advice, and knowing that Humans did not like to keep wounds or something that gives them pain, he decided to resolve her of that. He leaned over at let a drop of his own Nanites drop from his finger and onto her neck. She had sat up quickly because the coldness of the drop startled her a little, but NavV explained that the Nanites would repair the bruise and whatever else that needed repairing in her body, then disappate in her waste products.

She thanked him, and they both looked back up into the sky. In the present, NavV looked to the sky like he had done then, reliving what had happened.

[Flashback]

???: "The sky's getting dark, almost time to get going."

NavV: "Yeah, I think I got to..."

???: "I think I'm going to stay here a bit longer."

Before NavV left there was a moment of stillness as he looked down to her, watching her still stare into the twilight sky. Then in a moment of complete of semi-spontaneousness, he got close to her and wrapped his arms around her petite frame in a gentle hug. For the most part, he did that without thinking about it first, which is what he did usually because of his computer-mind, but he also did it because it was a sort of "thank you". She was a little surprised, but settled down and hugged back without a word. Then he let go and got off the rock, then started to walk away. He looked back at her.

NavV: "I guess I'll see you sometime later..."

Before he could fully turn away from her, he heard her call out to him.

???: "Wait a second, NavV!"

He turned back around fully and found that she had gotten off the rock too and was quickly coming towards him. To his surprise, came up to him and wrapped her arms around him in another hug, then stood up of her toes to give a small kiss on the cheek. NavV was too shocked to do anything in response to her actions. In the present time, NavV felt the cheek where he had received that kiss from that girl. She let go of him and stood in front of him with her hands behind her back and rocking back and forth slightly on her heels while looking up at him.

???: "Why don't you come visit me at my place sometime?"

NavV: "Uh.... Alright..."

???: "Great! I'll see you then."

The girl turned back around and went on over back the rock while waving back at him. He gave her a little wave back and smiled slightly for a reason he had not known at that time.

[End Flashback]

NavV was still holding his cheek when his flashback ended. He found it amazing, almost in a "Revelation"-type way, that this girl had treated like that. He does not remember any other time a person had shown that kind of affection to him. He lowered his hand and slid off the rock. Looking towards the main building of Nightmare Campus, he felt that the next step to fully recovering this memory was in there. Feeling a little anxious, he hurriedly walked off towards that building.

All the halls and rooms of the abandoned school building were deathly empty. Quite the opposite of what it was like when Nightmare Campus was at its peak, full of energetic and youthful persons. Most, if not all, the furniture had been removed or stolen, although there was probably little worth stealing in a school building. The elements had taken its toll on the insides, after some of the windows had been broken by various people and ways. Even some small animals had decided to take up residence in the old building. But even with all this, the place was still standing strong and holding its own for the time being.

It could be considered ironic that the first person to actually set foot in the building who had actually been a students there was not actually a person, but a machine. An object. Well, that is how NavV thought of himself before he met her. He wandered quite quickly through the halls in a seemingly random pattern, only taking a few moments to glance into whatever rooms he passed. NavV may have seemed to just be walking aimlessly, which was partly true, but a trained eye could tell he was looking for something. But he did not know what he was looking for. He just felt like he was getting closer and closer to it as he started to re-familiarize with the layout of the school building.

As he turned a corner and started to head down one hallway, the feeling came back to him. The same feeling he got when he first saw the girl's picture. That he knew it was around here, even if he did not conciously remember it. His pace slowed as he walked down the hallway. The feeling gradually got stronger and stronger, then started to fade after a bit of walking. NavV backed up and stopped at the point where the feeling had started to stop growing stronger. He found himself in front of a rather ordinary-looking door, one that had almost fallen off its hinges. This door felt very familiar, so he reached out to touch it. As soon as he put any pressure on it, the hinges creaked one last time and finally broke completely off. He was startled for a moment, but regained himself and looked at what the door had revealed. There was a set of stairs leading downward into an underground darkness, this was the door to the basement.

He spotted a lightswitch but found out it no longer worked, which could have been expected. Despite that, he knew another piece of his memory lay down there, so he continued down into the darkness. His mechanical eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, just in time to see him slip on the final step and fall hard onto his back on a concrete floor. Though he was not hurt by it, he lay there for a moment.

"Second time that's happened..."

NavV was surprised that he had said that, but he knew for certain now that had had been down here before. He sat up and looked about the small basement room. Empty, much like the rest of the school. But it was full of memories to NavV.

[Flashback]

NavV sat on the cold floor as he surveyed the room he was now in, the one that the school allowed the girl to live in as their janitor. His eyes caught sight of a small colorful dart across the floor and out of sight for a split second, but lost it. He looked back up to see what was in here. It was dimly lit, showing a couple pieces of furniture that would be more at home in a bedroom. Only thing missing was a bed, replaced by a simple cot. But it what was on that cot that caught his attention, it was the girl. She was asleep. It seemed she had turned in her sleep when NavV had slammed onto the floor, letting her colorful quilt slip off her, revealing to NavV a new sight. She was lying on her back, clad only in an oversized t-shirt. One of her legs had bent up, pushing up the t-shirt to reveal long beautiful legs.

For a moment he only stared, then he walked over to the cot as if drawn to her. He knelt down next to it and let his eyes trace over the gentle curves of her slender legs and up to her mid-riff, which was also visible. Thankfully, she was at least wearing a pair of white panties to hide herself. With him almost not knowing, his hand lifted up and placted itself on hercalf. He was startled that he had had done that but found the sensation of her smooth flawless skin on his palm not worth pulling his hand away. Though his face was blank and stoic, he felt something he had never felt before, something he would understand later. NavV moved his hand slowly across her leg, over to her thigh, where he gently gave her flash a tiny squeeze. She shifted slightly, but NavV did not notice and continued to let his hand explore. His hand traced itself across her hips and waists, his fingers just barely grazing her center through her panties. She mewed in her sleep, a sound that NavV had never heard before. His hand stopped at her mid-riff and started to run her belly, much like you would a cat or dog. Lost in the sensation of her skin, NavV did not see her waking up.

For a moment, she did not realize what was going on. Then she felt the tingle on her legs, like someone had just touched them very recently. That is when she saw NavV and quickly pulled away from his hand and pulled her shirt back down.

???: "Ah! NavV?! What're you doing?!"

NavV's hand still hung in the air after she had pulled out form under it. He lowered his hand and his head in shame. He had upset her, and for some reason it hurt him personally, or more like something inside of him.

NavV: "I'm sorry...... I don't know what I was thinking......"

He looked up at her. She had calmed down and was sitting on the edge of the cot putting on a pair of loose pants. The girl did not seem all that angry or distressed about what just happened. The look on her face showed she was wondering why he had done that.

NavV: "But I thought you said you were fine with people seeing your body...?"

She smiled and motioned for NavV to take a seat next her, which he did.

???: "Seeing is different from touching. I wouldn't have minded if you just looked at me. But most people, if not all, people, including me, don't like it when they are touched without permission. You got that?"

NavV nodded his head in acknowledgement.

???: "That aside, it's nice to see that you did come to visit me."

She hugged him, the action of which still confused NavV as to why she did that. But he hugged her back with one arm.

NavV: "This is where you live?"

???: "Yeah, I don't have enough money at the moment to get my own place. So the school lets me stay here as long as I work here. It's not a fancy apartment, but it's good enough for me."

Right then, NavV spotted the colorful furry again dart across the floor, but this time it was heading for them. It quickly made for the girl, climbed up her leg and wrapped itself around her neck. It was a long-bodied furry creature that had stripes in various colors running on its body.

NavV: "What's that? I saw it running across the floor earlier."

???: "Oh, Stripes here? He's my pet ferret. Say hello, Stripes."

She held her arm out to NavV and Stripes the ferret walked across it and over to NavV's shoulder. There it circled around his neck a few times, sniffing and inspecting the newcomer.

???: "He likes you."

NavV: "Really?"
