Troi made his way past posters, and spray painted graffiti to the door of the place he had heard about only as the Student Underground. An immediate interest sparked within him upon hearing of the place, and he had come down on this night, his first opportunity. It wasn't particularly crowded, on this, a Thursday night, and the bar was sparsely populated. Troi strolled to a seat next to no one, because it seemed everyone at the bar already knew each other, and Troi wasn't about to interupt anyone's conversations. He sat down, and called to the bartender, "Jack and Coke, on the rocks, if it pleases you." The bartender gave him a strange look, as most people tended to do when first hearing Troi speak, and prepared his drink. The look he got from the bartender, only dimmed his spirits. Over the speakers sang Billy Joel's voice in the song Piano Man, "...They're sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinking alone..." and Troi couldn't help but look at his own situation and see the irony. He sipped his beverage, and let his head rest on his right hand. |

A larger figure, nearly seven feet tall, ducked under the door. He was quiet, but gave Troi a nod, as he sat down next to him. He wore a long coat, similar to a trench coat, but with a different cut. White hair came down to his shoulders, and was cut neatly right there. A pair of reflective sunglasses were set on his nose. From the side, though, a faint glow could be seen, coming from the man's left eye. "Brass Monkey," he said. Apon seeing the look given by the bartender, he gave him another variation of the name. "Screwdriver, vodka and orange juice. On the rocks." He looked up, waiting for the drink. "Better than drinking alone, eh?" he said aloud, to nobody in particular. |

"I'll drink to that one," replied Troi, as he downed the rest of his Jack and Coke. He looked to the large man in the trenchcoat, and gave him a nod of a greeting. He motioned for the bartender to fill the glass again, his Irish blood hardly being affected by the one drink. As the bartender brought it to him, he gave him payment for the drink, nodding his appreciation. |

Jerum grinned and nodded. "Indeed so," he agreed, giving the bartender a nod, as he set down the glass in front of him. Picking it up in one large hand, he took a sip from it, savoring the mixed flavors. "Jerum Valinor," he said to Troi, as way of introduction. "Good t see another who enjoys their drink as much as myself." |
