Tokyo nights were often beautiful, what with the mass of flourescent lights, streetracing cars, formally-dressed business men and scantily-dressed girls. However, the serenity that lay upon the cliff of this mountain was a different kind of beauty; peaceful, with the stars blinking away in their infinite right to burn. Not exactly the most common place for two pairs of assassins, one set brothers, the other former Sensei-pupil. Still, both Arata Atimoto and Rakus Faies liked the scene, if for different reasons; Arata liked it because it calmed him down, letting the fire of adrenaline surging through him bleed out into the open sky.

Rakus, on the other hand, liked it because it reminded him of Morrowind; almost as far as the eye could see, forest stretched out underneath of them. Hell, he could almost taste the bite of blood from the Telvanni Arena when he was up here, so high above everyone else. The silence was broken by Rakus first, turning his gaze to Arata, a smile touching those thin lips of his.

"We did an excellent job tonight; of course, it was made much easier by Eli and Yun, but you proved yourself to be a formidable ally."

"Eh," Arata started, "So did you. You didn't buckle, you kept by your word, and you did your part of the job smoothly, efficiently, without mistake. They never even got a shot off."

"I suppose that's a good thing, though. The damage these Earth-made weapons wreak is something to be greatly respected."

"Heh, yeah, we're good at making things to kill other humans."

A silence fell betwixt the two, then, as they both leaned against that shadow-encased cleft in the mountain wall. Eli and Yun would be here soon, called by directions from Rakus' magic. The only light between them was that of the moonlight, which glimmered off of the gem that topped Rakus' ebony staff. In the darkness lie their pay, sitting within a black leather duffelbag; a quarter of a million dollars in hundreds and twenties.

"Jesus, Rakus...do you know what would happen if we did three or four more missions for this same price? We'd be millionaires, and then some.."

Rakus, of course, did not respond; he did not understand the concept of a "millionaire", though he imagined it would be something along the lines of a very wealthy merchant's life back home. "We could buy almost anything we wanted, now, to make our next jobs more efficient. And if we have Yun and Eli's help, our jobs could be remakes of tonights; two to five Earth minutes in, then out, and done."

"That would be nice, but if they want to work flying solo, I'll be fine with it."

Rakus just grinned, and a soft "Heh.." escaped his lips.

When Arata mentioned 'flying', he probably didn't mean literally. The almost-silent engines of the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class fighter gently flew the daggerish ship towards its location, the same cliff upon which Rakus and Arata stood waiting for the second bounty hunter team.

"Approaching destination, Eli." Yun Faies murmured to the pilot as they scanned their sensor boards.

"Gotcha. I can see them, as well as feel their energy presence." Eli replied gently, easing the fighter around the mountain.

"Pray tell, Eli, where do you purchase such fine machines?"

"I make it."

"You...create these ships by hand?"

"Hell yeah. I've made bigger ships than this."

"Make me one, if you so could."

"Best I could do is upgrade this. Haven't got the manpower to make another one."

"Very well. Bring us down."

The red and white fighter set down, landing gears extended as the repulsorlift engines created a very gentle dust wave. As the engines died off, the canopy depressurised its seal and the passengers pushed it forward, and leapt out the side. Both bore swords at their sides - one a Morrowind longsword and the other a Makai katana, both bearing marks of their heritage.

"Arata. It's been a while, my friend. I appreciate the help on the mission - You guys can have my cut of the money." Eli said, handing them $125,000 to split between themselves.

"Rakus." Yun merely said. There was no need for words between the two - just the look in Yun's eyes showed that he was sincere and missed his brother a lot. He extended his hand to his brother as Eli took a seat upon the side of the Aethersprite.

"So, you two. Spill it all. Where have you been, what have you been up to, and what equipment can I make for you?" Eli prompted, now toying with a ball of the black Youki.

"Damn, I missed this stuff..." Eli murmured while pawing, as it were, at the ball. He was succumbing to his playful side; the side that stemmed from his foxiness as a youko.

"Hello, Yun." Rakus smiled, eyes warming from their normally molten state. He grasped his brother's hand, shaking it softly. A soft magical whisper would trickle into Yun's ears, a question of his welfare, of how he was doing, and if he was faring all right in this strange but wonderful world.

"Eli, my friend! We've been good, for the most part. Rakus and I have been thoroughly enjoying each other's company. Mostly, though, I've been training with him, and he with me, as you can see by his not so slender appearance." A laugh came from Arata, and he repositioned himself against the wall for a more comfortable stance. "Hell, man, all we've been doing is training up here. A couple of times in the gravity chamber, but he's still getting used to that. I'm up to thirty five Gs anymore, and that's just for basic training purposes."

Pulling back his arm, he flexed, showing a rippling improvment from the flabby extension that had been where muscles now bulged beneath tightly-wrought skin. "Heh..it feels good to be skinny. Other than that, we've been working on finding jobs, and when Kinetoshi-san offered us positions as hitmen, we kind of jumped on it. Rakus is used to the jobs, and I have a hell of a lot more battle capabilities than I did when I originally came to the school, thanks to both you, Relen, and Rakus. Still haven't figured out what the hell that staff does, though; not Rakus', the one I got out of the Kamigawa place. But, hell, tonight was our first mission, and we each made a hundred and twenty five grand, plus what you just gave us. But we're going into business together, so I think I'm going to look into making some investments in the American stock market online."

Rakus and Yun were silent, still, continuing the conversation that they were having within their own minds.

"But...there's still a couple things that we could really use from you. Since these weapons were on loan to us until the end of this mission, success means that we get to keep them free of charge. Since Rakus has his magick, I was wondering if, perhaps, I could get one of those J-Gauntlets off of you. It would be really appreciated when it comes time for a bigger mission. I can't be slamming people around into walls, and Rakus can't really use many of his magical powers without leaving behind traces of us being meta-humans. Still, though, since we're just taking out badguys, I doubt the authorities would be having too much time and effort put forth to "catch" us. Hell, we just exposed, what, the third largest cocaine-smuggling port into the entire city of Tokyo? Pfft. I would say we're just about free to go."

"Regular bunch of heroes, you are." Rakus piped off, smiling genuinely for the first time in quite a while.

I am fine, Rakus. There is no reason to worry now; I've been laying low and creating the grand plan for Tel Faies. After all, I never did finish our home. But I have been well, yes. And of you? Are you coping in this place? It is nothing like Morrowind.

"Haha. Yeah, well, no dice on the J-Gauntlet. I can't find Relen's plans; I've been meaning to make another one since it kind of...well...exploded. Not so safe. But I think I can go you one better; a device that can project Ki. Either that or I teach you the ki skills as a whole, all of you. When used properly, it can't be traced, and can be used for a number of things. It's an absolute shame you can't stand on the stuff, though; it'd make a great method of transport."

Eli laughed a little. He recalled the fact that the Tokyo authorities were still out to hunt Eli and Arata; after all, they demolished the Akihabara District Mall once. That was a battle to remember; Eli had won, sort of by default. Though the aftermath was a lot more fun than the battle itself - Eli in youkai form had absolutely demolished an entire mechanised infantry blade after summoning his sword from an immense distance. Eli's powers then were absolute, but now, his power as a demon had risen, both in the political and just overall power field.

"Well...To be honest, I've been busy. Bounty hunting, getting myself sorted with being a Prince-Emperor in the Makai, running around and saving another realm, learning about my powers, yadda yadda yadda. Not too much, in all honesty - I could be busier. Though my training regime is a hell of a lot more strict now - six hours a day instead of four, without a break. I hardly, if ever, have any time to myself, which is the bad part."

Eli chuckled at Rakus' comment. "No longer, Rakus. Arata and I were...once...but no more."
