(( This is a continuation of this.))

I guess it was just going to be one of those days. Well technically it was actually night. Nearing almost 11 when all good little children should be home in bed, but then again when did you find a meta child that was actually ‘good’? Maybe it was just my bitter feelings swelling up inside me again, but when you’re a detective you go with your gut and that was mine. Metas were bad seeds or at least had the temptation to become bad. Power corrupts absolutely. I’d seen it so many times before – well, no actually I never actually have per say, but then again you hear a lot about power and corruption and the kind of power these kids had was a little more dangerous then one wanted to actually allow children to have. Maybe I was just oblivious to the corruption on the force during my brief tenor there. It was probably there lurking in the cracks some scum leaking out and tainting the rest of the force, but now I could care less. I had been fired from the Tokyo Police Department. It really wasn’t my concern anymore; or at least I tried to believe that. I wanted to believe that as much as I could, but I still cared and no amount of booze would ever drowned out that feeling of caring that I had learned to loathe. It was why I drank. I drank to forget and I drank till I was drunk. It was just the way the world worked and surprisingly even meta humans thought so.

It was loud. Probably too loud. There were noise violations being broken here. I could remember those, but they were rarely enforced especially in situations like this, but then again this bar was serving alcohol probably too strong for these kids to handle. Did I care? Probably I would have if at that very moment I weren’t downing another hard shot. Too bad for these kid’s livers and brain cells that I was. Maybe there ‘metabolisms’ could take it. Then again they were still just stupid, ignorant, loud punk kids.

“Pipe down you lousy kids,” I garbled looking at the drink that I had spilled all over the counter. All that precious booze was now sloshing over the counter making a slow steady stream toward one of the young patrons that this establishment had been made for. Not for old has-beens like myself. I got a glare from the young bartender as the liquid connected with the clothing of the rather tall youth that sat next to me. She didn’t really seem to be in a very good mood, but that was too bad. Today was a day worth celebrating, even if I really just wanted to drown everything out in a rush of alcoholic bliss. It seemed she wanted to do so as well; the tall girl with violet hair and wings that protruded out of the top. Yeah, she was a Meta all right. It didn’t take a detective to figure that much out, but sometimes it helped. The booze seeped into her clothing and I gave her a toothy grin trying to calm her down and prove that it was just an alcoholic accident at most.

“You look a bit old to be hanging around here. Go stalk children elsewhere,” she retorted rather bitterly. I hadn’t even said anything to here, but just shrugged at her. I knew I wasn’t welcome, but then neither who I was looking for. I wasn’t into children no matter how their genes affected their appearance. Revenge was the only reason I was here. Checking the place out for ‘his’ daughter.
It had been days earlier, but I met with one of the biggest crime bosses in Tokyo. No he wasn’t actually really well known or very infamous – he was just really big. I mean huge, but then again that was only from what I had heard. Word of mouth you know. He had sent some of his cronies to come talk to me and it had led me here, but everything really fit now. At first it had all come as a surprise. A daughter that was a Meta? Yeah sure now it made sense why he couldn’t see the girl. She was a meta and it was just genetic that her daughter would be as well. Could ‘he’ be a Meta as well? That would make sense why he had beaten me so easily.

“Sorry kid,” I murmered and jabbed the bar for more drinks, but the bartender refused to serve me. The girl stood up rather wobbly and sneered at me. She didn’t look all that well at all. Too much to drink probably despite how tall the girl was. Meta blood did weird things to people and this girl was no different as she wobbled her way out of the bar. She had looked rather sour after all, but I had said sorry didn’t I? Well it didn’t matter. A girl that size could take care of herself so it was no skin off my nose really. I had something more important to do; a little detective work. If I could find the girl, he would fall like a domino.
