With night the wispy sky had taken to a black color, but left lights bursts through the darkness from stars and distant planets and the bright, full moon. It was warm with a nice, floating breeze around the place, wisping late-night walker's hair. Closer to the meadow it was still damp, from the storm that had passed earlier that day but left them with an amazing night, harmless heat lighting jumping from cloud-to-cloud, in the laziest manner that lightning could possibly achieve. Below this spectacular flashing sky was a large, old, incrediably soft blue-plaid blanket spread out with a small basket containing a few sandwiches and some drinks, as well as some poptarts. It was the supplies that a young sophmore named Tori had asked her friend Tsu to bring to the amazingly flowered meadow, for a post-thunderstorm picnic, but that had been two hours ago, and the girl with purple hair still hadn't shown up. Tsu had been reduced to laying on the ground, eating chips and sandwich and drinking almsot all of the root beer, but leaving the ginger ale. On Tori's request she had snuck two beers, but not to get drunk, just for occasion. She stretched out and watched a particularily vicious blast of light from the cloud, and nestled further into her blanket, staring unfearingly at the clouds. |

Jack had made his way to the meadow. It was night and visiblity while he flew was almost nill. Yet because of his enhanced eye sight he could see better then most people and animals. The nice wisps of air kept him cool and the bit of light cast from the stars kept him a nice guide of trees and later people. His grim reaper like robe fluttered alongside of him as he floated in the air with wings looking at a few people below. Then the heat lighting came. It was a bad idea to stay in the air but he couldn't just land on the ground in the persons business. Then it struck again as he flew away from the lighting then again, and again, the bursts seemed to near him until one hit him. That was all it took and down he went his feather smoldering and his body limp, crashed into the ground. He had felt pain but nothing like this. After a good fifteen minutes he managed to regain some form of himself and lay silently, the pain now gone. How he survived unknown to himself. Yet he watched after rolling onto his stomach, the lighting dance beautifully across the sky here and there. |
