"GYAAHHH- OW!!"

Naku craddled her hand against her chest glarring at the object which had made a blaring noise which awoke her from her slumber. So what if she slammed her fist down at it, it didn't have the right to be so hard after disturbing her... whatever the heck the thing was anyways! She pressed her back against the wall when the object surprised her by making it's awful cry again...

**BRRRIIIINGG!!!**

...oh.... just a....

**BRRRIIIINGG!!!**

"... telephone?" Her eyes narrowed when the annoying sound rang again, though apparently that didn't work either, as it gave, somehow, an even higher pitched noise. Naku sighed, Guess there's only one way to stop this thing.... why the heck it is so close to the bed Anyways?! She extended her arm slowly, but picked it up quickly in an attempt to stop the sixth ring in the proccess. She held the object over it's stand, nearly sweatdropping in disbelief that the thing was still making that sound. ..... damn cordless!! She pressed where she thought the talk button was on the phone was and brought it to her ear.

"...Hel....lo-GYAAAHH!!!" She dropped the phone as another ring startled her. She glared daggers at it. "Why the hell Won't You... SHUT UP!!" It stopped just as suddenly as it started. She waited a bit more before giving a sigh of relief. Sure she never actually handled a phone, and sure there was a first time for everything, but this? This was Ridiculous!

She looked around the room that was now hers. Her brother, Jing, had put the place "in order" for her when she was getting her keys and things from the administarions office..... She wouldn't be too surprised if he had anything else in store for her. The light streaming in from her window told her it was still relitively early. Well... this is going to be a long day, I supose...

Naku stepped back to admire her room, the place she would be calling home for the next few years. Her dorm was fairly large, considering that she was the only one staying in it at the time. It appeared to be more longer than wide, but it could possibly be disputed. Now in the center of the room, she looked around, starting with the far right corner.

This is where her bed was already placed when she got there after she met Naikia on her first day, or night really, of being at AHS. A day later, Naku had begun to unpack and rearange things. The sheets were a light greenish-blue, and complemented her pillowcase. At the foot of the bed was a dark blue, comfortor. When packing, she insited her brother that she didn't need any new sheets or such. She was, however, glad that Jing had made sure her sheets had a water theme to it. Even though the items were all solid colors, they varried in the different shades of the ocean. A window which let in a georgeous view of Dragoon Mountain was in the center of the far wall, oposite the doorway. Underneath that, more directly next to her bed, was a small, simple, black night stand. It had an elaborate, but small and efficient wooden lamb next to a silver alarm clock. Her brother had decided to place the cordless there, but she had moved it to the dresser.

The wooden dresser was placed at the middle of the left wall. It stood a few inches shorter than her, and had many drawers. She used the first two drawers for Random, but nifty items such as flashlights, batteries, blank notebooks, pens, pencils, blank sheet-music sheets, etc. The second drawer held her school uniform, folded neetly in the bag she recieved them in. The remaining three drawers held standard medical suppiles. Gauze, medical tape, ace bandages, band aids, and other medical wrappings Naku made sure to be abundant in. Sometime she didn't need her powers to help heal someone, and sometimes she would have to stop from healing who ever too much. Of course, she culd never completly heal some one, leaving minor scrapes and small, shallow, thin cuts. Naku was always prepared for everything. On top of the dresser was the same white cordless with a stand, and a black ansering machine which kept flashing "1" for some reason she couldn't figure out. In front of those, however, stood her secret pride and joy: Eraclea and it's noble stand.

A black stand shone with a glossy and un-glossy black, criss-crossing in an elaborate pattern. The legs curved gently upward. Hilt and blade of the long knife extended fluidly from the black base. The hilt was a mixture of blues: Dark, violet, and cobalt. Designs of fireflies were embedded into the wood, along with one larger dragonfly design. The blade its self a pure, sharp ivory. Naku was semi-skilled in weilding Eraclea, or any other weapon. She usually would keep the long sword hidden, but she decided she could set it out for just a little while at least, in order to remind her why she was here, not that she needed one. This blade belonged to her mother, and was indened to belong to Naku once she was 16. However, she died... She told Naku to follow her heart, and be who she is. Learn of the powers she possesed. This first would be Nakus goal: Find out everything her powers were capable of. After that, then she would find the figure who put the wounds on her mother.

Naku took her eyes off her most pressious material item, and looked behind her. On the middle of the right wall Naku put the desk the school provided her. More school items were on the shelve beneath it, and the chair was placed neatly under it. She was sure she would move it, but wasn't sure where to put it. The far left corner, next to the dresser, Naku placed another (thinner) comforter. This one was a light blue. Throw pillows of various shades of blue lined the wall of the area she would use for meditation, when she wasn't outdside anyways. There was still a lot of room left over. In the area that served as a closet, Naku hung overshirts, coats and jackets. The only skirt she possesed was her uniform. She never wore them. Dispite this, her sister had given her a kimono of light blue, lighter greenish-blue, yellow and darker blues, both the yellows and darker blus serving as representative of fireflies. The sash was a solid dark blue. Naku accepted it because her sister, Lei, gave it to her. It once was her own, but had no need to wear it since becoming a shrine maden.

The closet also contained an ironing board, and an ironer. Fresh, clean towels and blankets were stored under her bed in drawers, but those were intended for those she helped. Her own towels were stored in her closet as well. The blinds were an off-white color, with white drapes.

Standing back, admireing the work of hers (and her brother), Naku gave a sigh of relief. There was still one box to unpack, but she could wait on that. First, she would wander around, then head to the Caf'.

It had indeed been a very long day... again. The lunchroom incident had been an event that gave her a preaty good understanding of what the school had instore. She had made a few more acquaintences, and even had a friend. He seemed scary at first, especially in the woods the previous night, but Naku knew that he meant well, and that he wouldn't hurt her. Naku's mind flickered to the fox demon and her pup, Kaze as she made her way to her room. I still have to get more gauze for his mother. Maybe she'll let me finnish tomarrow.

The door silently slid open and she stepped in, immediatly dropping her pack before shutting the door. It was pitch black inside, but she walked in the direction she knew her bed was in. Once she hit the egde, she dropped onto the bed, falling asleep instantly.

She didn't sleep too long however, as the telephone's dying rings woke her up. It wasn't by her bed, so she felt no need to clobber it. She tried to go back to sleep a moment later, but a blinking red light kept her awake. Having failed at trying to block it out, she turned a small light on and headed towards her dresserto find the culprit: The answering machine.

She blinked at it. It wasn't blinking "1" anymore, but "5". Had someone been trying to call her all day? After trying to figure out how to work it, thinking of giving up, and nearly spasming out, she finnally figured it out without causing harm to it.

Message one: *beep* "Oi, Ku-chaaan! Are you up yet? ...Don't tell me know aren't up yet?! It's morning, waky-wakey! I wanna know how you like your room I fixed for ya. Well, give me a call back, if you can figure out how to answer the phone *insert evil laugh here*! ..... Late's!" *beep*

Naku blinked again as the computer gave the number and time her brother had called. She'd only seen him that morning, but already she missed him. It had been years since they really, Really saw each other. Her gaze fixed itself on the machine as the next message started to play.

Message two: *beep* "Yo! Are you there? You haven't forgotten about me have you? I know you're up by now, though.... maybe you're at lunch. hmm. Weeelll, I'll try back later. andin case you did forget, this is Jing. Your older brother. Who demands respect. And curteosy... as well as tacos.... and barittos..... maybe some spegetti Oo! no, a sub! Yes, I demand Subwa- *beep*"

........................Are all of these messages from Jing?

Message three: *beep* "How does... oh, I talk now? Um... Greetings Naku. This is Lei. I hope you can hear me alright. I just wanted to see how you were doing in Japan. I'm at a payphone now so there's not a call back number I can give you. Kyoshii, everyone at the temple, and myself wish you luck......" *beep*

Naku smiled. Her sister had way less experience with telephones than she did. The remaining two were indeed Jing again. Something about a surprise for her and his cell number. The second was about him being worried since she hadn't called back yet, and that she had better call back or else he'd have to come look for her, which would ruin his surprise. She smiled, and returned to bed, knowing full well that she didn't know how to erase the messages. I'll just answer the phone the next time someone calls.... She drifted off to sleep soon after.
