You were constructed to do evil, you have done evil... but you want to be more, and you will become much more than what was taken from you... Caleb's words haunted the mind of a creation unworthy of the heavens. He sat alone on the rooftop, using his brain to piece together all the chaos he had caused, and attempted to match it with the good aspects of his life before this one. The problem? The memories of his true past, the memories of Kaz... not Auron, were like glimpses through a tarnished film. They were there, but they made no sense. The only thing Kaz could clearly remember was the same thing that had drove Auron Thanatos to this world. That blade, that sword that he had wielded as Auron Thanatos, and used to kill so many... that sword had been his even when he was still Kaz of Progatha. If that blade was that old... it meant that it still held a part of him. Caleb said he could become more than what he was made to be, but first Kaz wanted to be what he had been once again. That meant the he was still going to have to interact with the boy who had that sword, but this time he knew that he would not take it violently.

A pair of feet practically jogged up the steps to the rooftop; Leon was coming up fast, a song in his heart and guitar in his hand. The guitar in question was jet black and acoustic. To anyone else, it would seem just an ordinary guitar, the initials "F.S." inscribed in very minute letters in the back. To Leon, it was a memento from a friend; hardly a fair trade for not being able to see him any more. His mind didn't linger on the memory long. The door opened softly as Leon emerged, ignorant to Kaz's presence.

Humming to himself quietly, Leon hoisted himself up onto the ledge of the roof. Leaning his back against a structure at the ledge, he pulled one knee closer to him and strummed on his guitar for a moment. It wasn't long before his eyes started wandering about, spying Kaz in the process. His strumming stopped as he leaned forward a bit. From the looks of things, Kaz was off in his own world. Never one to keep his thoughts to himself, a friendly smile came on his face as he addressed him.

"Whatcha thinkin' about?"

The words had almost caused Kaz to jump out of the simple fact that he had not been paying attention at all what was going on around him. He half turned his head to find the exact person who held his blade... and found both relief and tension mixing in his stomach. Relief because this was at long last over, and tension because now a possible confrentation would arise. He sighed slighlty, realizing that he should be smart enough to subtly hint at something rather than make demands. Every time Auron Thanatos had observed his boy, he had always been friendly and peaceful, just simply living out of fun and joy. Based off of the guitar he was holding, Leon was still holding true to that. Part of Kaz enveyed him for finding such a piece, but Kaz constantly had to remind himself that he seemed to be envious of almost everyone. After all, this was not a school with many undead students in it... not at all.

"Well," He began, trying to take a soft tone as apposed to the temptation in his gut of making demands, "You see, I lost a lot of myself a long time ago because of some evil people. These people kept promising that they would return me what I lost if I just did their dirty deeds, and so for awhile I did them. However, I grew tired of this... mostly because the things they were asking me to do broke every moral code I had. So, I took the weapons they had given me and ran off into the stars, hoping they would never find me again. Unfortuneately, I was wrong... they found me quite easily...." Kaz paused for a moment in his story, and realized he was getting off track. Time to bring it back to the direction he wanted to go in...

"But instead of killing me, they tried to use me again. Turns out, one of those supposed weapons I had was something I had used in a past life, and apparently it was incredibly important. The problem is that now I have so many memories that it is hard even for a brain with cybernetic enhancements to remember two lives completely. All I can remember now about it was that it was rather large, sharp beyond any purposeful reasoning... and had the ability to shoot projectile bullets that it couldn't run out of."

There, he had described it enough to where Leon would be forced to know that he was speaking of the Gunblade. Kaz was half tempted to stand up and start pacing in anticipation of the boy's response. but knew better than to do so. His stomach in the meantime made up for this by twisting in ways the Kaz had never thought or remembered as possible.

Leon only blinked as the boy, or what he assumed was a boy, told his tale. His thoughts started to race when he spoke of a blade that shot bullets. Leon had only ever seen one thing like that, and it was currently collecting dust in his closet. Well, that was metaphorical; Diana dusted daily, it seemed. The thought alone made him smile. His mind wandered idly for a moment about her whereabouts and well being. He wasn't possessive by any means, but he did like knowing she was in good health when they were apart. Actually shaking his head, his brown hair flying around about his neck and forehead, he changed subjects once more.

"I've got something like that, actually. Gimme a sec' to go get it.."

Odd thing was, after he said it, he never moved. His eyes shut once more, and he fingers idly went back strumming his six-string. In his minds eye, an image of his room appeared. There was the closet, off in the corner. Mentally, he slipped through the crack in the doors and looked down at the case. His eyes narrowed for a minute in concentration as a small vortex ripped open underneath it. Not a moment later, another small vortex ripped the sky open right above the ledge, directly in front of Kaz. The box popped out and landed on ledge. Upon impact, the latches on the front gave, and the lid sprang open, dual hinges on the back. Inside lay Kaz's precious gunblade, just as shiny and elegant as ever.

"That what you're talking about?"

((Somethin' like this..))

(OOC: I'm Rich James baby! Not really, but Con gave me permission to do one of my favorite things in the world, NECRO POST!)

Kaz's jaw dropped. His hands trembled and his eyebrow flinched. It was improbable, No, impossible that this boy, the person whom he had hunted for so long... was simply now showing him a weapon who's reputation alone was worth a fortune. The Savior of Progatha had wielded that blade against his enemies, he had saved his nation and the Avian people by dying with that blade. Now here is was, in the hand's of a mere boy...

At this point, Kaz had to consider if this boy was not merely just another meta human high school student. After all, the Iron Angel had allowed him to wield it, and the blade seemed to fit so well in his hand. Perhaps Kaz was unworthy of ever holding that sword again, perhaps the evil within him had left his hands too rotten to grasp such glory. Was this is savior, his key to finding the humanity within him still? Or was this just another temptation, another false trial like the promises of Morpheus that he would be returned to full humanity. Kaz had never been able to guard Eona because she had been gone by the time he arrived, he was quite certain of that now. Her death must have meant Morpheus's plans were swinging into motion, and that he too had something to do with the White Hand coming to earth.

Damnit, that's it! Morpheus is the one who must have told the Avians everything, I remember people mentioning his name all those years ago. He's an Avian also! Those guys are royally screwed unless I'm able to tell them everything, but I have to remember first!

The blade almost seemed to sing to him that if he grasped it, he would remember everything. Kaz was tempted to reach out and take it, but he restrained out of honor. This young man was now the wielder of Iron Angel, and to take it from him would be a disgrace from eveything that he had been.

"That is it..." He muttered, his head bowing toward Leon in a respectful manner. "You are either truly worthy or truly lucky to wield such a magnificent blade. I haven't seen it for so long, I had almost forgotten everything about it..."

((Well, it -is- your topic, and I wanted resolve...))

Leon could only smile gently at the young man (or at least, whom he assumed to be a young man), about the simple innocence he seemed to be portraying. He had no idea of the “True Powers” of the blade; he simply stumbled upon it one day when he was out exploring with some friends. His mind wandered idly, back to that day. He could see him and his friends finding the ruins of a temple, shrouded in fog and what seemed like decades of botanical life. Inside, near the middle of the large chamber, sat a collection of items, with no significant rhyme or reason. He had picked the sword…hadn’t he?

Or had it picked him, for the sole purpose of being a delivery boy?

He didn’t mind, truly, for he had better things going for him now than a piece of sharpened metal. Nearly a year ago, he had met the current love of his life; his precious Diana. Being with her so long had softened him a bit, and he turned away gradually from the training, the fighting, and all the drama associated with it. He knew Fait would make up for his lack in spades; since he was always the one training, fighting…protecting. His thumb gingerly ran over the engraved initials in the back of the guitar, a bit of a sad smile showing on his face. He knew Fait decently enough, but that wasn’t exactly a good thing. After being gone for over six months, he started to wonder if he would ever see him again…

His head picked back up in a matter of instants, his bright smile back in place and his spinning eyes fixated on Kaz. It was only with an absent-minded wave of his hand at the box ad sword, that he had finally cut himself off from it. It represented an old life for him, but he preferred where his new one was going; having a family with Diana. His charming, bright smile dimmed a bit, as did his eyes, and shifted into a tone of understanding. He knew Kaz wanted it, and he wasn’t about to deny someone else from reaching their goals.

“You can have it back. I’m done with it. ‘Never really showed much power anyways…but then, I guess it only shows its true nature to its true wielder, ‘eh?” He smirked gently once more. “Just be sure to take care of ‘er now.” With more a joking gesture than anything, he winked playfully, and then went back to picking at the strings of Faits old guitar.

"You- you would give this freely?" Kaz's voice had almost dropped to a whisper. This was the day he had dreamed, the day he had feared, the day when he would find if he had the potential to be human again. It seemed like so long ago that he had come here as Auron Thanatos, killing machine working for a demon in human clothes. Had he actually come such a long ways? Finding his past made up for little when it was mostly meared in blood. This blade had been his when his soul had been pure, when he had been the defender of his people, the ally of the Avian, and apparently the savior of Progatha. The Iron Angel was not just a blade, or a magical object with hidden powers, it was a link to his soul... the man who been so much and reduced to nothing. This would be the second curve of his parabala, his own ressurection up from the ashes to become greater than he had been before. But he couldn't just reach out and grab it, could he? Not without giving this boy... this person who had originally been his target the truth.

"This, this means so much to me. For so long, I've been afraid of this day, wondering if I would be forced into violence or tempted by sin to regain this, but you offer it freely. I don't know if it means anything to you... but this blade meant a lot to me and my people..." He paused for a second, listening to Leon's guitar. He had to hand it to the kid, he had a lot of skill when it came to playing. "It was our seal of peace, a deal to end our own violence and unite against a real evil."

His hands trembled, but they did this time reach out and take hold case that Leon had kept the sword in. Leon may have not thought that highly of himself with holding the balde, but this was in itself a piece of history, a piece that he could potentially use to save lives before the night was over. His gloved humanoid hand touched the hilt, and thousands of memories flooded back to him. He refused to loose focus in the moment, he could spend plenty of time in his past later. The blade did not suddenly transform into some sort of ultimate weapon or anything, but the emblem of the animal on it did begin to glow with a fient orange light. As Kaz wrapped his hand around completely, it almost seemed like the symbol had began to light on fire. Kaz smiled slightly, knowing that the blade somehow recognized it was back in the hands of its owner.

"Oh Angel's feather given steel, help me keep thy divine seal..." He had no clue where those words had come from, only the fact that Iron Angel was once again his. Once again, the sword had choosen him, accepted him as a protector... perhaps he could be human after all...

He restrained from grabbing it any further, and simply sat it back in its case. He smiled widely at Leon, the first true smile he had ever given. When night came, those fools who had come to this world would get a hell of a history lesson, but until then... Kaz just wanted some time in a peaceful state. "You play well, and you gave me this wonderful gift... but I don't even really know you at all. Do you mind if I just hang out on this roof for awhile with you?"

The strings of the guitar resonated with the last notes played, mixing with the air and dying out a few moments later. Out of courtesy, Leon had stopped playing and lifted his head back up to look directly at Kaz. His eyes started spinning in bewilderment as Kaz reached out for the sword, and the emblem on it started to glow. It had never done that for him; but he never used it much anyways, so it wasn't like it mattered. The words Kaz was uttering left Leon intrigued; as if it were from some sort of television show he had seen in his year here.

"Sure thing..."

He looked at Kaz and smiled understandingly—much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced—or seemed to face—the whole external world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just so far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey. Seconds later, it faded slowly, leaving the normal, gentle smile he always wore.

"I haven't talked to anyone in a while anyways..." He paused. "Last people were Diana and Fait...you may have heard of the latter..."

((my apologies for the shortness~ ))

(OOC: no worries homes)

Kaz was somewhere in between euphoric and remembrance, a sort of small smile had crossed his face as he just simply starred between the case and Leon. This sword was not just a part of his history, it was a part of him. At least that was what he kept trying to tell himself inside. After all, his first guarantee after he had been awakened was the the sword would help unlock his potential to live, but how he was never told. And then, Morpheus had stated nothing concerning the sword and his humanity. Could the sword actually help him on his quest to become human again? Or was this just another weapon of death hidden behind a veil of light? Now he was leaning closer to nervous than anything else, wondering if he would return to being the mass killer that those scientists had created him to be. He was ready to sigh and once again stare at the ground, the feelings of another failure clutching his heart.

And then he saw it, the boy's simple yet life changing smile All of his worries and memories simply faded away, incapable of sustaining themselves against the overwhelming force of its joy. Suddenly, he knew that just a simple smile could mean the world to him, but moreover this was a smile that he had never even seen before. It must have been one of the purest friendship, a creation that anyone would feel honored to just be in the presence of. But Kaz was not just in the presence of that smile, he was the one it had been given to. It meant that even though he had gotten no physically closer to being entirely human, on some mental level this boy had given him the recognition of friendship. Kaz could think of nothing else better than making a new friend when it came to being human.

Leon spoke again, and Kaz gave him a nod. “I've heard of Fait, a guy who helped protect this school by fighting that Project Omega or what not. I'm certain he's an interesting person...” Kaz turned and gave Leon a smile nowhere near as perfect as the one he had received, but at least he was making progress. He had learned to take the malice out of smiling at long last. “But we haven't even given each other our names. I'm Kaz, or Kazura if you prefer formalities. I know this sounds odd, possibly even sappy, but talking to you has helped me a lot already. I would be honored to know you as a friend.”

The tale his old friend had once spun now swathed every crevice of his mind once more. He had an incredible memory, and could remember the tale like he was right there on the sidelines. The black twisters of his eyes slowed gently as a smile of rememberance crossed his lips. Was Fait missed? Of course; by him, and surely others that knew him. He never let his thoughts wander into the dark though; he wouldn't allow it. Hope was eternal in his mind. His head picked back up slowly and he brushed a lock of brown hair from his face, letting on a bit more of what was portrayed to the world around him; complete and total innocence.

"Nah...I'm not really a fan of formality..." The still silence of the rooftop was broken abruptly with a short, light chuckle. He shook his head slowly, strands of hair falling around his face messily, before he pushed them back over his head. "My name's Leon. It's nice to meet you, Kaz."

His blue eyes stayed on the man before him for a few seconds, another quiet smile slowly spreading on his lips. In his mind, the only thing that could make the day any better, would be having Diana right up beside him. She wasn't around though, off on vacation to see her father. Alex was gone too, his great-grand daughter, whom he clearly needed to spend more time with. Another small chuckle filled the air, and with it, his face started glowing. His bright smile practically lit up the roof, his eyes looking out into the forest as he drew up a leg, rested his arms on the guitar, and his chin on his arms.

"Funny...It's been almost a year since I've gotten here...and I've hardly even met any people. But the people I have, I'll never forget..." He turned to Kaz again slowly, his head tilted to the side a bit, a curious twinkle in his eyes. "Which would you prefer? A lot of friends you'll lose over time, or the seldom friends that you'll never forget?"
