((If you posted in the topic in the Party Line, cool. If you didn't post there, cool anyway. You're welcome so long as you stick around.))

The three teens sat under the shade of a tree, very calm and inconspicuous...as they could get for being so outlandish. One...well, he was a demon, wearing a long white bathrobe of sorts, with a sword at his side. Another wore a black robe with a special red insignia on it - a hawk in a circle, his family's crest. The third was wearing something you'd think was out of a history textbook on Ancient Egypt - she certainly looked the part of an Egyptian noble. There they sat, discussing the events of the previous day, a laptop on the demon's lap as he typed away furiously on the decked-out computer.

"So, there is not a lead to be found. Eli, how do you propose we solve this problem?" came the voice of the second boy. Yun Faies' mannerisms were very particular, and his vocabulary and general speech patters were impeccable. After all, he was a noble. He was to act like this, else have a bad reputation about him! He could not dream of such a thing. It was an...impossibility that his reputation was bad, else his family name be tarnished forever.

"Well, Yun, we do the obvious. Eli don't you have some recognisance programs on there from what's-his-name?" the girl asked.

"Well, yeah. Relen was a master of computers. Don't worry, Kamila. They'll be gone soon enough."

Kamila was yur average girl...in most ways. Long brown hair complimented the whites of her tunic and folded linen robe well, and her emerald eyes were a nice, striking contrast. Her necklace, bracelets and hairtie were adorned with rare gemstones, such as emerald, turquoise and lapis lazuli.

"I sincerely hope you're right..." Kamila murmured in her usual soft tones as Eli continued typing furiously and using the optical mouse he had resting upon a solid book. He was drawing one of the robes he'd seen their attackers wearing, and he was making it as accurate as possible. The sword was another thing he was trying to draw, as well as the axe-wielder. He was the only one he was trying to match. Using the wireless internet connection he used, he got in touch with a bunch of friends of Relen's, and they managed to procure some info for him. It wasn't much, but it was a lead. The Hand of Kothos. Somewhere in...God damn, of all places. Jerusalem. He thanked Relen's mates, promised them a rousing Starcraft ladder tournament after this adventure was over, and shut the laptop down.

Jerusalem...Why Jerusalem, of ALL places...? He'd been there once to crush some other cult. It was like...deja vu. Repeatedly. And that dark sense that crept over him when something was going to go wrong was starting to warm itself up, again. He hated the Dark Knights for what they did to him, what they did to Zell, and for destroying his spirit by removing his memories. Thankfully, he'd gotten THOSE back after he killed them all and went back to their base some time later. And now, he'd be returning to the city he hated the most. It was an unending cycle. Go there, kill something, go away with something wrong. And then begin the cycle anew. What was it about Jerusalem...? There was a dark specter over the city, he swore it. And that dark specter was haunting him.

With a slow and long exhalation, he cut himself a portal into the Makai and put the laptop back.

"Eli...you look troubled." Kamila said. He certainly did; he had to go back to Jerusalem..again! He hated it so much!

"...Don't worry. We'll be fine, Kamila."

"I sincerely hope, however, our help posters truly do help."

They'd posted some posters for this time and place, to gather people together to help them hunt down the attackers. If this paid off, everybody would be taking home a piece of the loot. And loot always attracted people. Eli merely hoped the specters of the past didn't come back again...

OOC: Istanbul, not Constantinople! (Sorry, I had to, what with my They Might Be Giants obsession.)

IC>>>

(Here, there were angels. It was hard to believe as such, but he knew that it was true. He had seen them... They lived in this school, they walked across these grounds. He had met them further into town, after a long journey had turned up nothing. And then...there they had been, and he could scarcely believe his own reaction to them. None of it had made any sense at the time, and none of it did now either. The problem was that the issue of his mind. He could not fathom it out logically. Seeing those angel's wings for the first time set him off, but there was no connection. True, he had wings of his own, but he was not the same, not the same at all...)

"All I have is what I claim to be...and that is so little..."

(Enter the boy in black Kevlar clothing. He had been seen around, here and there, in several parts of the world, but never identified. He was barely known around here at all, not even for all that he has apparently done in the world. He was dressed in this blackish attire, his hair raven-black, his eyes...deep and violet...and wrong somehow. He was not a student, but he was clearly a meta...of some sort. At the moment, very little could be read from him. There was an ominous feeling in the air, but far too vague for an impression. In the case of his expression, it was always deadpan, as was his voice. This was a boy who sounded older than he was, which was a little disturbing. He was at the gate, facing in, seeing three students near a laptop computer. Why was he here? Oh yes...)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(He'd been feeling a strange resonance recently, as if something familiar to him was drawing him to one location. The impression was vague and unfocused. It took hours to find the first spot, and it was empty by the time he found it. Then, some time later, by curious coincidence - or not - he chanced to stop and see a poster... The poster advertised a meeting place to help deal with some sort of cult. For some reason, he found that his hand was shaking uncontrollably, right up until it tore into the poster and the telephone poll, leaving deep grooves in it, as if it had been clawed by a tiger. There was no such beast in him, though. It was another reaction... He had to find these people.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(And now that he was here, he felt that there was something in the air, something bizarre and familiar. He approached the three, whose names he did not even know, and waited for them to pay him any attention before speaking.)

"My name is Sirus. I don't come from this school, but I have dealt with a cult once before. They-"

(He felt strange all of a sudden. He couldn't remember what he did with the cult, exactly. He knew them to be murderers, torturers, and madmen, but everything was a blur with them, ever so close to that wall where he couldn't remember what it was that had happened. He remembered seeing them, and then seeing the area turned into a crater. That was it. That was all he needed...)

Sirus: They did terrible things, and they were judged for it.

OOC: Go Super Poster Strategy!

IC:

Remeium hummed a somewhat familiar tune in his mind while he walked across the courtyard. For all the fears and simple oddities of this place, Remeium could think of only one word to describe it entirely: Boring. He had avoided so much conflict and so much of everything that he hardly felt known or welcomed here. Well, two girls knew him, but that was about it. Thus our hero aimlessly searches for something, anything; that might not necessarily be challenging, but at least get him to meet people.

Then he saw it, or really it saw him since he walked into it. Shouldn't he notice where a random tree was at? Maybe if he took his nose out of the Japanese History book he was reading. Although he would not openly admitt it, this pocket sized copy had been stolen by him from the library. He of course had asked for it first, and upon being rejected resolved to do the honorable thing and borrow without intent of return. Truth be told, he was actually looking through it for the history of combat styles, but found topics such as the Edo and Meji era very interesting as well. He had just been flipping through a page that explained the importance and corruption brought to Japan through American forces when-

WHACK!

Tree met body, and tree won. Rem had managed to knock himself flat over via not paying attention and actually walking straight into a tree. A couple of nearby students chuckled while they watch Rem look dazed on the ground for a second, and then pull himself back upand look at what he hit.

"Help hunt down attackers... Kamila-san's name is on here. Perhaps this one can be of service to others... although hunting isn't much his cup of tea. Maybe this one can help defend while Kamila and her two friends put a stop to this..."

Needless to say, our wandering Rurouni would be next chose to go and find Kamila, and her two friends Eli and Yumi. This would be.... interesting to say the least, and it would most definitely keep him busy for awhile. Little did Rem know, soon boredom would be a thing he would miss. After a short while of searching, he came upon Kamila sitting under a tree with two boys, and one standing nearby them introducing himself apparently. Rem was honorable, and rather than interupt the conversation, chose to wait his turn a few feet away. In the meantime, he took careful note of the fact that one 'boy' wasn't in fact a boy at all. He was much more like a black demon dressed up in a bathrobe with a katana on his side.

Subconsciously, Remeium's left hand flew down to the handle on his Kodachi, ready to draw it in a moments notice. Then again, Kamila was sitting next to the demon as apposed to being terrified by it; which lead Rem to believe that this might just be one of those three people on the list. He did not exactly look like the demon who would attempt to control someone against their will at all. Those types, according to myth... were always lanky and weak, while this one was better classified under the word tank.

The hanyou's crimson eyes met those of Sirus the moment he approached; Eli's passive energy sensing technique alerting the boy to the approaching presence. As Sirus told his little spiel, Eli gave him a faint smile; he, too, understood all to well what a cult could do. After all, the Dark Knights were a cult...they did your generic demon worshipping. Not to mention the fact that they were an armed force that could take on the Knights Templar and win by a mile. And, hell, they were some of the cruelest bastards around. And Eli's mind brought him another memory, thre most painful of all...

It was dark in the torch-lit room. One source of light; a tiny candle mounted in the roof. Eli was slightly conscious, and thereby controllable...mostly. The three Dark Knights, one of which was evil Zell, had him placed in a chair which had a whole bunch of stuff implanted into it. They strapped him down, and blindfolded him.

"Put on the helmet and set up the machine. Immediately!" Zell's voice commanded. Eli felt a steel helmet upon his head, an extremely heavy one at that. Sounds of an electronic device powering up could be heard.

"Excellent. Activate the memory wiper! Full spectrum!" Zell finally commanded.

The last thing Eli remembered was feeling intense pain from electricity before passing out...

Eli's eyes snapped shut, recoiling in mental pain from the memory. His eyes snapped open a few seconds later, the faint smile still on his face, outwardly appearing like nothing was wrong at all.

"Welcome. My name is Eli Bladesong, and this is Yun and Kamila. I'm definitely assuming you're here for the hunt. Take some time to relax; we'll be waiting a few moments for a few more people."

As Eli was talking to Sirus, Kamila noted the presence of her friend Rem off to the side. She smiled warmly at him, inviting him to take a seat beside her, on her right, and in the shade of the leafy tree.

"Hey, Rem. Are you here to help?" she asked happily, her ever-bright smile omn her face. It was nice to know there was someone she could relate to going along on the trip. Maybe this wouldn't be all totally bad and horrid and such after all. She always liked to ahve more friendly faces along for the trip while Eli adn Yun did their combat thing. She wasn't into the fighting scene. She helped on the back lines, definitely. But she never killed if she could help it.

"Welcome. My name is Eli Bladesong, and this is Yun and Kamila. I'm definitely assuming you're here for the hunt. Take some time to relax; we'll be waiting a few moments for a few more people."

(Sirus merely nodded at Eli's statement, taking his words into consideration. Relax. Interesting. He wasn't sure if relaxation was even possible. Ever since his first memory in the desert, he has not relaxed. Not really. He's just sort of...been there, standing there or sitting there. He existed, and that might have been it. No measure of comfort could comfort him. To relax would be to allow himself the time to think things over...except that he had thought all that he could think on matters while he was wandering. Perhaps he should just stop thinking about it... Sirus took a sat on the ground, near the tree where he'd stopped, his arms resting on his knees and his eyes focusing on...nothing. Strange, though... Not thinking allowed him to see more into the issue itself, as this sudden interest in cults reminded him...of the other one.)

Help me oh please god HELP ME - NOOOOOOOOAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

(Flesh cuts and bruises and broken bones, his body tossed to a machine they called the Grinder. Horrible images kept assaulting his eyes, but none of them made any sense. He wasn't brutely murdered. He was here. He was sitting right here and-)

Hey, boss. He looks like one of the guys we killed for the sacrifice.

(Something twisted inside his skull and he felt ill all of a sudden. It didn't make any sense to him. He wasn't sacrificed. He appeared on the altar He was summoned by them, the strange cult he destroyed for doing what they did. He felt the pain of all who died to create the hideous altar around him, and the images of himself, which could not have happened, could they just be a projection into the fates of others? It was the only thing that made sense. How could he ever have died at the hands of-)

Sirus: The Council of Human Judgement. That's what their name was.

(-when he destroyed them with every ounce of his power? Sirus shifted slightly, his hand brushing up against his face, against something cold and wet. He rubbed it away instinctively and looked at it. Tears. But...why? Sirus decided that he did not like to relax. It was not a matter of showing emotion, but that if he showed too much, like back in the park, he might just lose himself.)

Akane was walking by the courtyard, her first day in the high school. She wanted to see all the places, what this school has to offer, what's so great about this school that she would leave her hometown to stay here. While walking by, she looked over, and saw three guys, all taller, one kind of cute, and they all seemed rich. She hid behind a bush, and sat there wondering if she should take the cute one. She smirked and stood up.

Akane walked back a little and made sure she made everything she wore, very cute. She began running as fast as she can, towards Eli. She crashed into Eli and fell over, getting a small wound on her hand while skidding down. She got herself in a position of revealing a little of what's beneath her skirt in front of Eli. She looked at him, and put on her cute and innocent face, "I'm sorry, I'm such a clutz" she smiled cutely and waited on the floor to help her up.

Remeium had been standing there, looking quite possibly as cool as he could with his black suit, white overcoat and swordbelt. He pretended to be shallow by adjusting his half moon sunglasses while Eli introduced himself, but the demon's red eyes didn't hide the pain he had seen very well at all. The deeper he looked into those eyes, it was like looking deeper and deeper into some hidden part of himself. His right hand tingled, screaming in its own way to be unleashed, to let the Devil Star out in its full fatal fury... but right now Rem wasn't about to allow some seal on his non-dependent hand boss him around.

He listened in on what Sirus has to say, somehow thinking that he too had a good deal of painful memories that could be spurlged at any given time. He at least gave out the name of the human cult he had hunted down, The Human Council of Judgement. What kind of farce was this? cults that worshipped and loved demons, cults that acted as god to judge their fellow brothers and sisters? Rem's right hand tingled again, but this time he suddenly got the strange notion that it was angry at the mention of cults. Although he had no memory of how he had recieved that mark, Rem desperatly wanted to know why it was given to him, he wanted to know who would do such a thing. Since his memory in the village had only started around twelve, it meant that however had done this to him had do so when he was no more than a boy. Even if this cult they would hunt today had nothing to do with the Devil's Star, he wasn't just going to sit by let them get away with hurting people, especially Kamila...

"Hey, Rem. Are you here to help?"

Rem's eyes snapped up to her and an innocent smile crossed his face. "Yes indeed this one is here to help. He had a bit of a run in with one of your posters..." Rem had to resist the temptation to rub his forehead where he had found tree. "And thought it would be wrong if he did not come to help his first friend here at Anime High School."

"Pah. Nobody deserves to judge humanity - or meta-humanity. Nathan Zerricks, the Council of Human Judgement....who gave these people the right to dictate the way we think? Who gave them the right to play God? It is fortunate, then, that they met grisly ends."

He had a loathing, an extremely deep loathing, for those who thought they could play God. Hence why he delivered swift justice to cults and those he thought were of the throng - if they thought they could act as an over-deity to those who lived normal lives, they were horribly deluded and needed to be put down like the animals they were.

"Regardless, friend Sirus. I'm assuming you're prepared, and veritably, you'll be waiting a few moments while we equip ourselves for combat."

At this moment in time, the unexpected 'accident' known as Akane decided to show up and try her hand at flirting with the rock-solid Eli. His eyes closed as she came, and he extended a hand to the energy signature that was now sprawled on the ground near him. When she accepted the clawed hand, he could pick her up easily.

"Next time, a word of caution, be careful. Anyway, are you here for the hunt?"

Eli was all business when it came to such matters. He absolutely ignored whatever attempts to flirt with him came..unless, of course, he was interested in the girl. And already, he was uninterested. Any female that required the use of undergarments and seduction to try to get a male interested in them was nothing to him. And there was no point trying to deny such a thing; it was the truth.

At Rem's comment, however, Kamila smiled gently.

"Well, take a seat, we'll be getting ready to leave in a few seconds."

Eli nodded. "We'll wait a few minutes more, I guess."

Akane was still on the floor, shocked. She had a surprised look and has lost the cute and innocent face. Never before had a man been resistant to her charge and fall, she held his hand and stood up. She cried out as she found out actually for once, she bent her leg. "WHAT THE HELL!? I'm actually injured this time!" she thought to herself, while she tried to stand up, she fell. "Ow...I think I injured my leg quite badly...can you help me up by lending me some support?" she tried to use her cute and innocent face again, this was step two of the whole master plan, but this time it was real, not fake.

As she was still looking at him from the floor, she tried to analyze him, by his looks, his INCREDIBLE fortitude against her ultimate cuteness and the other guys around him. "..the hunt?" She said while thinking to herself, "What the hell is the hunt? What is this some nerd club that I tried to hit on? Oh my god..I got rejected by a nerd! This school is definately strange and new, rejection...by...a nerd...actually..he's too cute for a nerd...can't be nerd...I pray he's not a nerd, OH THE SHAME!" she thought to herself. "What's this...hunt you're talking about?". As she was asking she kept chanting in her mind, "Not a computer game! Not a computer game! Not a card game! Not a nerd sport! A gothic cultist thing! Not a computer game!"

(Sirus did not respond to what Eli said, because what he said was somewhat in conflict to what Sirus had learned in his short conscious life. That is, he was suppose to be able to judge the way of the world and how people should be. It was something he had come to recognize as his purpose. Take the fools and the charlatens, and the evil that corrupts the world and do what must be done... He only nodded at Eli's mention of preparation. He needed nothing... He almost WAS nothing...)

"What's this...hunt you're talking about?"

(He almost didn't seem to notice the girl there until she spoke up like that. The introverted are strange that way... Sirus answered, sparing Akane a level glance and even tones in his speech.)

Sirus: For reasons that I don't know yet, we are gathering to attack a cult of the insane, all of which will very much deserve what is coming to them, if I'm of any judge.

Remeium nodded toward Kamila and took a seat on the grass, careful to make sure his white overcoat wasn't getting stained by doing so. He sat there, listening to the conversations going on around him, and suddenly realized he wasn't very good at this whole hunter justice idea. For starters, he blade was dull to the point where it was mostly blunt, and more importantly Rem had no want nor will to actually kill someone. He sighed slighlty and looked over toward Kamila for help with this personal situation, but remembered that he had not managed to tell her what type of swordsman he was last time they had met. Until meeting a friend whom must be some sort of demon, Rem had thought he was a special exception... but then again, almost every student on this campus carried some sort of weapon, even the demon in the bath robe had a katana!

"Kamila, this one did not come to help hunt for others so much as he came to help you. In fact..." Rem's look was somewhat lost in a mix of darkness and sorrow, "This one has no wish to kill... and will not kill unless absolutely necessary."

He turned toward Eli and Sirus, not afraid of them yet not trying to be disrespectful either. "Please understand, this one's sword and combat art are formed around defense, not attack. Although I can protect quite well, causing a massive amount of harm to others is out of my reach."

Akane looked at Sirius confused, and slightly annoyed. "Oh my god...these guys are probably insane or something...or they're cultist murderers!" She thought to herself while she was still on the ground. Akane took a better look at Eli, "Gosh should I give up? No he's so cute though! But this isn't worth it.....so many other cute guys probably...BU-! NO! He's not freaking worth it...and they're all ignoring us anyways...wait...when was it an us? It's supposed to be me...yes....look what's happening to us...I mean..me..." Her mind continued rambling as she kept looking at Eli wondering if this was too much for her.

Akane stood up but fell again, "I hate my leg! Goddamn it!", she stood up again and bit her lip, she began limping away falling after a few steps. Akane hated being ignored, and this was exactly what was happening, she was being ignored. ((bleh...SL's much too serious for Akane to join...and all of you guy's rping are so good compared to mine >.< I don't belong here ^^;))

"Please understand, this one's sword and combat art are formed around defense, not attack. Although I can protect quite well, causing a massive amount of harm to others is out of my reach."

(Sirus nodded, his expression not changing still. He understood this without a problem.)

Sirus: If that is your creed, then so be it. Such ways are admirable, in any case.

(Mostly, it could be said that all of Sirus' actions up until now were a form of self-defense, or at least that he had been provoked first. The Council of Human Judgement had gotten theirs for such a provokation, not to mention the mercenaries, the bank robbers, the pervert, James O'Toole, and of course Mr. Ash. And yet, many others remained unharmed, untouched... Even that vampire had not stirred the need, strangely enough. Sirus was about to wonder about that when he heard the girl complaining of her leg again. He decided to do something about it. So, getting up, he quietly walked over to where Akane was and allowed some of his power to flow. A wisp or three of a deep-violet energy seeped from his body and swept down towards her leg. The energy seemed to circle the leg for a minute, basking it in energetic fortification of strength. That is, it helped the body help itself in the healing factor. Once finished, the energy dissipated.)

Sirus: I am not very skillful in healing, but that should be suitable if you give it time.

(He walked back to the place where he had sat and resumed waiting for somethingto happen. Sirus was not a gentleman, per se, as being polite enough to give aid where aid is needed. To do much more than help in healing was something that had not occurred to him, so he did not pursue farther than that...as it was not necessary.)

Akane turned around and scowled at them, she was walking fine, she was much too surprised. She never believed in magical powers but she was amazed by the speed of her leg recovering. "I didn't say I needed help! I don't need any help from you! I dont' need help! I'm perfectly fine by myself!" She yelled back at them and she began running away. Looking down, "but thanks..anyways.." she mumbled.

((OKAY LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD! z0mg >_> I apologise in advance if this sucks - I just pulled a nine-page RP outta my ass o.x;))

Eli shook his head at the crazy girl. In his mind, he was mentally asking what the HELL that was about, because it sure as hell confused him. He didn't udnerstand females sometimes, he really didn't...Probably why he'd totally given up on anything with Miya, knowing the two would just remain good friends. Maybe if someone really special came along, he'd consider it; but for now, there were more pressing matters on his mind.

Rem spoke of non-lethal combat; anyone who could do that well was admirable in Eli's mind. He had been trained- no, raised - to be a lethal warrior, and that, in his own mind, was how he liked it. It mattered not to him whether countless innocent people lived or died; his concern was his friends and his people.

"I understand fully. Sirus basically hit the nail on the head; some of us can't fight without non-lethals, myself included. I've...spilled too much blood to ever turn back."

Yun closed his eyes, and Kamila nodded slolwy. They'd heard the stories - of the bloodthirsty half-demon that roamed the campus and was wont to kill at random. But the next to speak was Kamila.

"Anyway. So when do we leave?" she asked.

"Tomorrow, all things considered - I'd say...just meet back here? Nobody else is turning up, it seems, and that gives everyone time to get their stuff together. Sound good?" Eli asked of all assembled, while Yun and Kamila nodded their agreements.
