Liger stood, well, more like paced, in front of a large gathering of trees toward the northern end of the park. His informational source told him of a perfect dinner location, and wow we they right, but unfortunately, none of that mattered until the other showed up. Liger himself was dressed, not really formally, but he had on a nice pair of khakis and a lightish green long sleeve button down shirt. The weather at this time of night, considering it was still summer, was quite nice, it was perfect for a candlelit dinner, or at least, that was the plan.

"Oh man, I hope this goes well..." Liger said nervously to himself, continuing his repeated steps around the grass. He remembered what he had done, very stealthy like, pinned a note to Aura's Genbu house dorm door. The note said nothing more than: "9PM, the forested area in the north of Shinjuku park." Quite enigmatic, and very mysterious, had it not been for the method the note was pinned. Liger took a needle, and threaded through it the stem of one of his white roses, so that it looked like the rose itself pinned the note to the door. Quite cleaver, Liger thought, he just hoped that Aura would indeed show. He was lucky, there was a slight breeze in the park tonight, which made it a bit chilly, chilly enough that he wouldn’t start sweating from his nervousness. He didn't really know why he was so nervous, he shouldn't be, but something about calling a lovely lady out to a park still was something that wore on his nerves, hopefully he'd be over it by the time she arrived.

It had been a wonderful surprise. She had gotten home from a rather stressful day of work. She had sighed as she was dropped off at the entrance to the Genbu. The director and the upper management of the studio really did not want her to go back to AHS, but they were desperate it seemed to keep her happy. It was kind of a communal arrangement however. She needed the money to stay and school and to get that money she had to work for them as hard as she could. It was not hard work at all, but it was a little dangerous. She had gotten a rather large gash on her arm due to work, but the medical staff on hand had bandaged her up well enough. It hurt a bit and probably would leave a rather nasty scar, but overall she was just fine.

She smiled brightly looking at the flower that had been pinned to her door. It was a white rose like the one she had received from their first date. It had been a lovely night and she remembered it fondly. Meeting him at 9 would be a wonderful way to spend the rest of the night. Sadly, that did not give her a great amount of time to get ready, but she would have to try. It would be a test among many to get ready that quickly and get to the Park by nine. It was already nearing 8 as it was. She would just have to try her best though. It was not Liger’s fault. He did not know when she would be away and she did not even know when, where, or for how long she had to be at work.

-Earlier-

“Good afternoon! Welcome to Genki! The only show on T.V. where we follow the exploits of a real life Paranormal Expert. Here we have Miss Aura, a young spiritually attuned priestess who will exorcize wandering spirits from this old abandoned apartment complex,” a rather energetic mustached man said into the camera. He quickly moved to the side to reveal a rather surprised Aura. She had told them that she was certainly not a priestess, but it was probably the best way to explain what she was after all without just telling them that she was a Meta-human, if that was even true, that would certainly land her in a bit of trouble after all. It was the first real shoot and this was Aura’s new job. The camera panned to the apartment complex in all of its’ run downed glory. The walls were quite emaciated and it looked as if they were going to crumble at any second. A strong breeze could have knocked them down if it had cared to try at all. Why the building was actually standing was a mystery in the long run, but there was another mystery. The mystery itself was how had Aura come about such a job on T.V? She certainly was using her strengths to her advantage when looking for a job and certainly a well paying job at that.

“Good afternoon,” she said giving the camera a little bow. It was really hard to comprehend that she was actually on television at this very moment, but that was the way they had wanted to do this. Ever since that afternoon weeks ago, this is what they had planned for her to do. There was little she could do about it now, as the mustached man seemed rather impatient to get the entire show rolling. That was his job. He was the announcer/narrotor. He had been hired because Aura was “cute, but less then energetic.” That was what the producer had said, but it was a miracle to find a girl that could pull off her own stunts like she had earlier. They were not stunts by any meaning of the word, but some people did not believe in spirits. The producer was counting on many of the people of Tokyo to do so, which they had the first time she had appeared on a rather low quality reality T.V. show weeks ago.

“Are we ready Miss Aura?”

“Oh, of course,” she smiled. This apartment complex had something different about it. She could not only feel a slight spiritual power from it, but also there were many spirits dancing about one of the higher rooms. It was probably an earth bound spirit trapped. Hopefully it was not one of the one’s she had been facing recently.

--

9 o’clock. She was just in time as she stepped into the park. Well, not exactly in time and that was what worried her. Hopefully he would not be upset, but it had taken her awhile to get a cab out to pick her up. She was not forced to walk to the bus anymore with the money she had received from working, but she had not taken the time to actually get a new garment to where out on fancy outings like this. She wore the same silken kimono that she had for their first date. It felt like it would be a wonderful evening if it were not so chilly.

The slight breeze blew through her hair and chilled her body. She shivered as it wrapped its’ long chilly hands around her face. She really wished she would have brought a coat, but she did not have a nice coat to where yet. Maybe someday a little later she would have one, but today she would just have to make due. It was not all that cold out, but she felt cold. Maybe it was the wound on her arm that made her feel so cold. She had bled quite a bit, but could that really make her feel so cold?

She wandered still cold to find a pacing Liger amongst the trees. Why was he so nervous? Did he actually think that she would not show when she was left such a wonderful surprise upon getting home? She smiled warmly as she walked over to him. He looked very nice tonight. She could not wait to see what he had planned for them tonight. “Good evening Liger. Thank you for the flower. It is very lovely.” She wore the flower in hair that was not held up this evening. She allowed it to flow naturally down her back.

The minutes stretched like bubblegum stretched from a mouth to a hand, it seemed that each passing minute was twice as long as the last one. Though logically, Liger thought, this couldn't be true, that would be a time paradox, and those were few and far between, and the gods above wouldn't waste one on a simple boy and his girlfriend about to enjoy a dinner. Well, Liger hoped that was the case and he was just being anxious, his mind wandering while he waited. He looked to the sky, admiring the beauty of the stars. They were just showing their presence, the sun had just hid behind the horizon not but a short hour ago, now that that meany was gone the little stars could come frolic in the black slate of the sky. Liger looked around, looking for the sun's midnight counterpart, but saw nothing, nothing but stars happily amusing themselves. He thought to himself, this wasn't the time of month for a new moon, was it? Usually that's later, not earlier, so why would the moon not be out now? He remembered hearing some old wives tale once, something about when two new moons in one month meant grave situations were ahead. He laughed, he really was nervous, thinking things like that. He stretched a couple of times to get his mind off of, well, anything, but didn't have to move for long as a silhouette appeared in the distance, all his attention shifting to that location, pushing all other cares and worries aside.

“Good evening Liger. Thank you for the flower. It is very lovely.”

Liger smiled happily as she walked up to him, her gorgeous raven hair adorned with his rose. He would never, ever get over how stunning she was when she wore it like that, the way her locks curled around the white petals, and how her eyes, however much she hates them, how they were accentuated so beautifully by the flower. Liger took a few steps closer to her, running his right hand through her hair opposite the flowered side, admiring everything that was her presence. Although, he noticed something, she seemed to be shaking slightly. At first Liger thought it was out of nervousness, or excitement, but after touching her face lightly, he felt her temperature was slightly lower than normal, it seemed while he was perfectly fine with this night air, she seemed a bit unable to handle it as well. Well, that's fine, they wouldn't need to be out here much longer anyway.

"Good evening to you as well Aura." He said, still running his fingers through her lovely hair. He was surprised she could keep it so long, if it were him he'd be tripping over it, getting tangled in it, getting it dirty with every step, generally bad for hair things. At any rate, it was wonderful on her, and that's what mattered. Liger embraced the girl, wrapping his arms lightly around her. He hadn't seen her in quite some time, and even longer in a truly happy setting, but tonight would be different, Liger was determined to have an excellent evening with the one he loved, nothing would change that.

"I've missed you a lot, how've you been doing?"

His hand brushed up against her face. It felt so familiar, but it was the first time he had put his hand on her cheek like that before. The warmth leapt from his hand to her face. It felt wonderful as cold as she was. She had no idea why she was this cold, but she wanted him to leave his hand where it was. Just for a little longer, but she did not want to get him worried or act ‘clingy’. He withdrew his hand, but at least she did not feel as cold. Maybe it was a mix of her feelings and his warmth that made her feel oh so much warmer.

She was left in a daze as his hand left her face and she was quickly embraced. She grimaced at the pain that went shooting through her arm. A light whimper escaped her throat as his arm grazed her right arm. The wound ran down the side. It was bandaged and not bleeding anymore, but it pained her just the same. The unneeded pressure stimulated her somatic system. It was screaming in pain, but it was nothing compared to her wound from fighting Misery. This was barely a sliver compared to that, but it hurt so much still.

-A week prior-

“Aiko,” he stammered as the rain began to start falling on their faces. He stared into her dark eyes lovingly and she looked back at him with that same look of love and passion. It was burning brightly in both of their eyes as they stared at each other. “I think… I think I love you.”

“Jiro,” she returned his stare for a moment, but at the moment the words crossed his lips the fire extinguished in her eyes. She looked away her face mixed with tears and small droplets of rain that caressed her cheeks. It began to mat their hair, but she continued to look away as fear and suspense captured his face. “I love Ichiro.”

“My brother,” he exclaimed letting her go from the embrace they had maintain for so long. “It can not be so. I love you more. How can you say such a thing to me? I thought you loved me, but you love my older brother? How could you!?”

“Did somebody say my name?”

“Ichiro,” the girl squealed hugging the older boy. It was terribly written and the dialogue was wanting, but at least the acting was proving to be a little more then bad. Not by much, but a little. There really was no script other then the ones the three of them had pieced together behind the scenes. It was a reality T.V. show and the longer they stayed on the air and nabbed ratings the more they would be paid. That was all they really wanted, but the show was slowly going down the tubes. Nobody really watched it anymore, but maybe it just needed a change of pace. It soon would get it from the sky.

Everyone has heard the expression; raining cats and dogs, but have you ever heard of raining cars and debris? Well in this case a rather small car came hurtling down crashing into the pavement scattering the cast and the crew as they tried to film. The director was becoming furious at these working conditions. Terrible actors, it was raining, and someone had eaten his most favorite jelly doughnut. Now he was forced to work through people tossing cars through the air. His crew was terrified and so were his actors, but this director was much more crafty than to let a good opportunity to rake in a few bucks go to waste. This was live T.V. he could not just let this go to waste and maybe he could pull down some ratings before his career tanked. He slapped the cameraman to film in the direction that the small two-passenger car had come from. Nothing, save for dust and debris flying into the air obscuring whatever it was he was filming. Bombing? Meta-Humans? Whatever ever it was he was going to get it first.

--

“I am sorry Liger,” she apologized for cutting their usual embrace so short. “My arm it hurts. I hurt it earlier, but other than that I am very well. There is nothing to worry about. It was well treated, but it is just a little tender still.” She began to babble more then she should, but she did not want him worrying on her account. It would have been terrible if he tried to cancel the little thing he had planned just because she had managed to hurt her arm during the work earlier that day.

“Where is it you had on planned on taking me,” she asked smiling warmly at him even though her body still felt cold. It was warmer then it had been, but it still felt ever so cold. She shivered for a moment as the breeze once again moved across the park. She moved to his right side still to avoid hurting her arm once again. Wrapping her arm around his she waited patiently and excited, but still ever so cold. “I was so happy when I found the note. It really was a pleasant surprise.”

As Liger held her, or rather, would have had she not cut the embrace short, he wondered what was wrong. He left his hands on her shoulders comfortingly as he looked into her dark pools of beauty. He hoped it was nothing to do with how she felt, maybe in their time apart she had become distant from him, maybe she had found another? No, surely not, she'd tell him, if that were the case, wouldn't she? It wasn't that Liger was overly confident in Aura's attraction to him, but surely she respected him more than just to not tell him of another. He quit thinking, he needed to, all that came out was garbled assumptions, none of it could possibly be true, it was just nerves talking.

“I am sorry Liger, my arm it hurts. I hurt it earlier, but other than that I am very well. There is nothing to worry about. It was well treated, but it is just a little tender still.”

Liger was overjoyed, well, somewhat, to hear her explain her situation. Sure he felt bad that she had injured herself, but at least she was honest. Not only that, but the way she spoke truly told him that it was Aura standing there, something that, due to recent situations, needed to be at least watched out for. With a happy smile, Liger nodded to her, feeling at ease with himself, though the breeze kicking up had told his body it was time to move.

"Don't worry about it, I'm sorry I agitated it." He said warmly as she moved over to his other side and taking his arm in hers. Another thing he would never get used to was the joyous feeling he received when she held him, or when he held her, or generally when they were in contact. The happiness flooded through him, numbing his mind of all but her presence. He could so easily become lost in this moment, just the mere fact that she was next to him made his mind drift into euphoria, but now was not the time; there would be time, but now's time it was not.

“Where is it you had on planned on taking me?”

Liger couldn't help but smile wider, almost snicker. He had heard that line before, in a movie once, though it was in a different context, for the girl was absolutely unwilling, yet here he was, having a totally willing girl say the same thing. In his mind it was a victory, though for what reason he'll never know. He turned slightly, pivoting around Aura and facing the tree line.

"I was thinking we needed a quiet dinner spot, but no restaurants around here were appealing." He grinned, looking at her with a smile. "So I took some liberties and pulled some connections and made our own." He had to resist the urge to snap his fingers, as cool as it would be, nothing would appear, which would ultimately just make him look like a ninny. Oh well, he hoped one day he'd be able to snap and have something appear, but not now, he was content with leading Aura a little to the left, where there was a path cut in the trees. It was wide enough for the both of them to fit through, side by side, which they proceeded to, until they reached a branch that stood in their way. With haste, Liger lightly unlaced his arm from hers, deftly stepping around her to grab a hold of the branch and hold it up above their heads. He smiled back to her, with one hand motioning forward, the other holding the branch.

'Right this way, mademoiselle."

He gestured toward what looked to be a circular clearing in the trees, not more than fifteen feet in diameter. The grass in the area was very clean cut, and at first glance looked like normal grass, but upon closer inspection, and with more light, one would see that it was actually a lime green color, peculiar for Tokyo area grass. Trees looked almost like a wall around the area, except for the path they came in. The branches seemed to be interlocked; though that was probably just an illusion the flickering light gave the foliage. In the center of the clearing was a table, black from a distance, but when one got close to it and with the aid of the light shed from the burning candles, they would see that it was a deep green color. In the center of the table was a candelabra, bright gold with green gems set upon it, and green candles shooting out of it's spires, all aflame with light that basked the area in a soothing blanket of delicate light. The table was set for two, the chairs pulled out in a very welcoming manner. There were a few covered bowls, a covered plate and a basket also upon the tabletop, the food was definitely fresh, steam was seeping out the edge of the lids, and the entire little clearing was far warmer than the area outside where they had came from, the trees around acting like a brave shield from the breeze. Liger was ecstatic, everything was really here, and everything was going perfectly, he just hoped Aura would like it.

She smiled at him like she had thousands of times before. He did not need to apologize for something he did not know he had done. It seemed rather silly to do so, but it was always like Liger to play the sweet gentle guy. It was unnecessary at best, but he tried his hardest to impress her even though ever time it only made him seem so unlike himself. Trying so hard just to impress her? Her of all people? She would have been fine if they had just sat in the park and talked under the moonlight, but he was scheming something. It seemed like he was always scheming something as if he was a criminal of some kind, but what was he trying to steal? She had already practically given him her heart on their first excursion out to dine under the tower. It had been a wonderful evening and she continued to look back on it fondly.

With her arm wrapped around his he led her about as if the two of them were one. She felt so warm standing next to him like she was. It was comforting to be by him once again, not just because of the warmth she provided, but because he was like her emotional crutch. He kept her aloft when she felt weak. He had been able to help her through those tough times in the beginning when she was truly weak. When her emotions were so fragile he had been there. How had she been so lucky? To find a nice boy that had not taken advantage of her weak emotions and timid nature. Yes, she had the heart and soul of a warrior, but her emotions and mind were timid and weak from years of pain and suffering. How many times had she praised nothing at all for just having someone to care for? Someone to be by her side in times of trouble no matter what would come her way? Someone to be there to keep her warm on chilly fall nights after having hurt her arm in a freak accident? Well, the last one did not come up all that often in her mind, but now she was glad.

Aura was surprised however at his statement. None of the restaurants had seemed appealing? She had seen many in town that looked rather nice for the young couple to go out too. It was certainly surprising, but to see him smiling like he was made her happy. He looked a like awkward with such a big dumb grin, that was true. He looked like… like… a ninny. That was the word was it not? She had heard it before to describe things that seem rather out of place. He seemed a bit out of his element at this very moment in time. He never did really seem like the tricky type and because of that she let out a small little laugh. She enjoyed when he acted like this. So free not letting anything bother him even though there was so much to worry about. That however would have to be pushed aside. Not because it was necessary, but she deeply craved that it would all just go away. That he would make it all just go away, but sadly he could not. She could tell him about it. It would be good to not keep secrets from him, but he knew about it already. It did not matter if she got attacked, as it was unavoidable. There was nothing that he could do to help anyway. She had to do this alone… even though that was the hard part.

--Earlier that day—

The old apartment complex reeked of mold. The emaciated building looked even worse from the inside then it did from the outside and the outside was a boil on a boil to begin with. It was rotting and a wonderment that the place had not been torn down ages earlier. At one point it must have housed a number of families that worked around the inner city, but now it was destitute and just taking steps Aura worried about falling straight through the floor. She was not even nearly as heavy as the two that followed her through the building which made her worry even more as the floor creaked and groaned at each step they took. The building needed to be demolished, but they worried about the sounds that came from the building at night. One should not mess with forces they do not understand. It was good to see at least a bit of level headedness among the people in this community. The only problem was the building needed to go and getting upstairs was going to be rather dangerous.

“Miss Aura, whilst we traverse to the top maybe now would be a good time to get to know our hostess a little bit more,” the host asked with a smile as he looked back at the camera nodding to the audience trying to sway them into getting to know the girl a little bit more. The show would not be aired for quite a few weeks at best, but it was best to try and win the fans over now it seemed. They had rather enjoyed her first adventure it had seemed, or at least Aura had been told so.

“Now? Well, I do not have any objections, but we must take heed to watch our footing. The floorboards are rotten,” she said looking back and giving a smile before continuing on with her journey. She had been told to smile as much as she could. It was one of her “better features”. The host followed her and the cameraman came quickly after as they traversed past the old main lobby as the boards creaked and cracked under each step that they took.

“Miss Aura; how old are you?”

“Oh, about 17.”

“About?”

“Well, yes… about then,” she replied thinking it over briefly to make sure it sounded right. It in fact did sound about right. She must have been about 17, but had she just turned 17 or was she going on 18? That was what she truly wanted to know herself. Maybe this was going to be a bit harder then she had anticipated.

“When is your birthday?”

“Oh, I do not know.”

“You don’t know?’

“I am sorry Mr. Anon, but I do not.”

“Oh that is alright, I’m sure a priestess has her reasons for not knowing. One with such great power has no need for such trivial matters like birthdays viewers. They have to hone their skills and not focus on presents and cake. To be a priestess one has to truly focus on the matter. Without her this building may forever remain as an eyesore on the face of the city, but with her expertise it can be demolished and remade into something brilliant,” Anon said looking back into the camera and jabbering his little heart out as they walked along. She blushed a little at all the praise she was getting. Most of it was untrue as well, but no one would be able to see her face from the angle they were at and she just continued to walk. She was a little envious of the mustached Mr. Anon. He seemed so happy even though this was a rather serious endeavor.
-----

Her cheeks reddened as he lifted the tree branch in front of them. He guided her into a clearing in a very chivalrous manner. Again it was just Liger being sweet, but that was what she really enjoyed about being with him. The little things seemed to be what really mattered. The whole idea was nice and all, but it was things like that she took notice of. She would never remember it later most likely, but now it was the only thing she could think of. The lighting changed as she emerged from underneath the hanging branch. The light flickering of faint candlelight danced on the ground. She looked at in and it took her breathe away as she gasped at it. Had he prepared a dinner in the middle of the park just for the two of them? “Liger, this is wonderful. I hope you did not go to too much trouble on my accord for this.”

Her breathless gasp is what sealed it for him as he lowered the branch and stood beside her, his smile so wide his eyes couldn't even stay open due to its size. He felt so relieved, as well as joyous, it had worked, as simple as this was, it had succeeded. To bring joy to her, to allow her to be happy, that's was the goal of tonight. She had been busy as of late, he knew that as well as she did, he felt obliged, if not forced by his own will to make her happy, to treat her to something like this.

“Liger, this is wonderful. I hope you did not go to too much trouble on my accord for this.”

"Not really. I pulled in a favor from a friend. She owed me, and this wasn't much of a task for her." He laughed lightly as he walked toward the table, turning around and facing his love. "I told you about my cooking escapade, I dare not attempt another and burn down the dorms. Though that would be an interesting event..." He drifted off his words and put his hand to his chin as though he was seriously thinking about it. Of course he wasn't, but it was a funny thought none the less.

*****

"Err... Ivy, I need your help..." Liger stated lightly as he stood in the doorway of one Seiryu dorm. He was face to face with his friend Ivy, the alchemist extraordinaire. She was in an unusual tank top and short gym shorts attire, but Liger made a point to look elsewhere...

"What do you need?" She asked of him, beckoning him inside. Her dorm was nothing special, it had very few adornings in it, aside from the furniture, which one could tell that at first glance was not standard issue dorm furniture, for it was all different shades of green, and looked as though it had about a hundred times more padding than it would normally come with.

"I was wondering if you could do me a favor and cook something for Aura and I..." He worded his request carefully, it was the odd inquiry at any rate, asking someone to make dinner for a date.

"Why don't you?" She asked of him, a little curtly as she sat at her desk, an open book in a language Liger didn't recognize upon it. He pawed the ground a little, looking at his feet.

"Err... Last time I tried to cook something I... Lit my house on fire..." He said slowly, embarrassed at his predicament. This, however, only managed to get a rise out of the girl, she was consumed in a fit of giggles. "It's not funny!" Liger retorted, stomping the ground.

"Tee hee! I think it's hilarious!" She said, pushing a bit of hair from her face. "Sure, I'll help you out." Liger though he heard a hint of mischief in her voice, but passed it off for amusement at his past pains.

*****

Liger sighed happily and lifted the dome lid from the steel plate in the center of the table. His smile faltered for a minute, under the stainless dome protector were four hamburgers, while probably tasty, were not Liger's idea of a romantic food. What he noticed second was a slip of paper.

'Try not to set anything on fire. ^__^' Written upon it in shimmering emerald ink. He sighed again; this time a little less enthused. "Well, it looks like I can never win." He joked, his smile returning to its rightful place. He set the dome on the ground and removed the others, revealing a crisp salad, a condiments tray, a medium chocolate cake, a pitcher of water and a bottle of sparkling apple cider.

"A fine meal, methinks." He said, irrelevant of whether it was romantic or not, it did look quite good as he smiled back at Aura, motioning for her to sit. "Please, sit my dear."

“Oh no. This is more then enough Liger,” Aura stated trying to make him feel a little better about the entire thing even though she laughed a bit at the sign. She tried to hide it and not laugh at him. It was rather impolite, but he had told her about his escapades into cooking and how terrible they had turned out. A slight giggle escaped at what he had went through to get someone to do this for him. Either way it was a lovely night to be outside with that special someone. “I am sorry about laughing. It is rather cute when you try so hard to impress me like this.”

He pulled out her chair and she gracefully sat down in it. All the while she had to be careful about her wounded arm, but she had had worse wounds before then this menial one that rested on her arm. She looked over the meal that had been placed before her. It was rather uncoordinated for the situation, but with his lack of cooking ability it was the best he could produce and the thought of him trying to do something special like this was rather amazing. Hamburgers, she knew what hamburgers were. They were an American food. She had heard about them quite often, but had never once had had one. Mostly due to the fact that beef was so costly in Japan, but alchemy was rather amazing. Ivy could make a fortune if she really wanted to, but that was neither here nor there.

Salad was also present on the table. The leafy bowl of iced lettuce sat glistening in the bright moonlight. She had definitely had a salad before, even though she had not really liked it at first, but the customizability of the salad was something that continued to keep her in awe. One could add anything to a salad and yet it was still a salad. Sometimes there were even different kinds of salad as well. Some consisted of noodles. The noodle ones she was not fond of as the noodles were usually cold and tasted very awkward, at least as awkward as a noodle can taste. It was customary though to start with the salad when it was present though and she was very much prepared for that. A beverage also existed on the table, which she had up until this point failed to try. She took up the bottle and looked at it curiously. Sparkling apple cider…

--Earlier that day—

Sparkling little bits of dust fell out of the room like a fine mist. Little spirits bobbed up in down in there normal fashion, but they refused to move any further as Aura neared the room. She had been hearing the same thing ever since they had reached the hallway. It was like a slight crying. As if a child was sobbing, but when she had asked if they could hear the noise the two men shook their heads and looked at her curiously. This assured her that it was a ghost. It of course sounded unlike a normal ghost. She had never encountered an earth bound spirit before that resided in a residence and had hoped that if she ever did it would have been in a place that was more structurally sound.

They had traversed up the stairwell cautiously just as they were doing the hallway. Each step that the trio took resulted in a symphony of creeks and groans. They were the conductors sharing the baton as they crept forward. They need not creep to keep from alarming the spooks, but to avoid crashing down flights was the main reason they proceeded with caution. There had been only one fault the entire time and luckily it was nothing serious. The cameraman had stepped oddly and broke through the old emaciated board. To Aura’s surprise Mr. Anon had caught the cameraman in an unprecedented showing of agility and dexterity. Aura was rather impressed, but when she had said so Mr. Anon had just waved it off and laughed a bit at the generous comments. He never did like to brag, but he was always the type to work out.

The spirits that bobbed up and down outside the door soon made way for the trio. They feared being bothered more then were they interested in the sobbing that Aura continued to hear. It had echoed down the hallway and the closer they got the quieter it seemed to get as well. She stood in front of the door that leaned weakly against the hinges that were still in place. A slight breeze looked as if it could knock down the door, but the way it sat made it easy to see into the room. A small child stood mourning something. It wiped at it’s face trying to drive away the tears, but it continued to wail and moan. Now however it wailed silently. Aura pushed down the door and stepped into the room. The two men followed, but were even more wary. If the girl that could fight of the ghosts was worried should they not be doubly so? Yes, they probably should be, at least, they thought so.

“Hello. Why are you here little one,” she asked trying to sound as soothing as possibly. It was not a real child she was speaking with, but as she motioned forward to try and get near the little ghostly specter the spirits that hung around watching over him disappeared. She froze. That was a bad sign. They must have felt a presence that she could not. Was something coming? She waited looking all around the room for the creature that was sure to burst through the walls and try to destroy her. Slowly she pulled her weapon and the spiritual blade formed once more as she watched and listened for only the slightest sound of an approaching attack. Sadly that sound did not come. There was no loud crash or visual appearance of the creature. Through the wall he passed like so many other ghoulish cretins. Aura recoiled a bit at his visage. His face was about as big as she was and at current that was all that was visible of him. Hollow eyes if one could call the things that he possessed actual eyes and teeth that looked like to be made of plaster. He gnashed at the trio with them and continued to do so. The gnashing however produced no noise even as the sets collided and retracted just to collide yet again. The large head began to tilt back and forth as the teeth gnashed faster and faster. Counterclockwise the head twisted and continued to do so until three times the mouth and eyes switched positions until it snapped backward. The sound that was emitted was as if someone had thrown a maraca into a blender. It was as if the creature’s bones were grinding against each other and snapping at each meeting.

She held the bottle up to the moonlight and stared at it in awe of the way it mirrored the light from the sky. It was not like her to be so head in the clouds, but that was how she felt. Maybe it was the blood loss, but even that had been minimal comparatively to other wounds. “Liger how does this taste? I have never had this before.”
