The pale, full moon shone through the leaves of the darkened forest as the boy walked along the small, dirt path that he had only been on once before... That time was with friends. This time, Daryll was alone. His footsteps slightly echoed, but the sound was soon squelched by the amount of trees around him. No matter where he went within this forest, the boy felt as if he was not alone, even though he was. At this time of night, when the full moon was at its brightest, the shadows were welcoming, even more welcoming than the wolven Paradise he had found by luck a while ago.

As his steps guided him, Daryll's thoughts went to his family that was at home. His sister, Luanna, would be turning seven the next day, and he wouldn't be there for the first time in his life. "I really need to write that letter to her," he spoke aloud in an absent-minded manner, "and I really hope that Uncle's treating her alright."

Once his uncle started to wander into his mind, the boy cut the thoughts off there. There wasn't any way that he would like to have his night ruined by him... Especially when he was miles away. Up ahead was a small clearing that was lit up rather well with the moonlight that fell down upon it. In the middle of the clearing was a large, flat rock that served as both a chair and a table. This was his destination.

(I apologize for the shortness. I'm tired fatigued right now.)

The moon glistened on the clear star filled night. There was one moon and billions of stars; twinkling, shining, and casting their glorious light upon the forest. It was a perfect night for hunting or for being hunted. Which was it for this dark creature who stalked the deep woods? Large and heavy foot steps crunched the dried and dead leaves that were now littering the forest floors. What could one expect when the season of autumn came around? The dark, and large figure moved through the forest, its pitch black fur wisping about from the wind caused by it’s rapid movements. Sheets of hard muscle rippled under those mounds of black fur as it came closer to it’s favorite resting spot, a large flat rock in the middle of a clearing.

The shadowy figure sniffed the air; he was a wolf, or rather, a werewolf. His sense of smell quickly picked up something unknown to him. Or rather, someone unknown to him. He took in another full breath as to fully take in the alien scent. It wasn’t all that strange to him, for some reason the scent was a bit familiar, or at least smelled of something he had picked up before.

”Grrrrr… Who… “ The were wolf said to himself as he stood up high on his long thick legs. His wolf ears flicked about his head as he listened for anything that could be approaching. He may just have been overly cautious, but in woods like these, anything could jump out at you. The wolf walked closer to the clearing but stood just a bit away as he observed the rock. There was someone already there; walking towards his favorite resting spot. This was his territory, and another creature wanting to rest in his spot would surely not do. He growled lowly as he watched the boy.

”…Arrrrrrgg…” He then stepped out into the clearing; fully showing his body to the little human boy, or so the creature thought. He growls at the boy but then gives a mighty howl sound that shook the very air around them. Flocks of birds flew from their resting spots within the tree tops as they heard the great yowl. The giant wolf took a heavy step towards Daryll as his razor sharp fangs sneered within his snarling mouth. Saliva dripped from the flaps that would be lips if only he were human. He came upon Daryll rather quickly as he lashed out with his mouth; biting empty air; demonstrating his ferociousness

(The shortness is alright, as it is still a heck of a lot longer than my posts… x_x)

As soon as the crunching of leaves about him started to come out, the boy froze. Thanks to the fallen leaves that the trees were shedding, he knew that something was nearby. How near, though, he had yet to find out… There were many things in the forest that could pop out at him, and he was hoping that this was not one of the things. However, there seemed to be shelter upon the rock for now.

As he neared the rock, the crunching of leaves grew closer, and this made the boy shake a bit. ‘What the heck is coming near?’ he thought as he paused. His little body shook slightly as he only imagined what was there. What came out of the protection of the trees and into the clearing only scared the boy even more. The anthropomorphic wolf seemed to be something that would wander out of a child’s nightmare and would scare anyone that had had such a dream. Thick black fur covered the rippling, muscled flesh of the beast. The being’s eyes were glowering with anger, the growl from deep within its throat a sign of its disliking Daryll being where he was.

“Oh, sh…ibidibidibit,” he muttered as the werewolf came closer and closer to him. With each step forward that the being took, Daryll took a step back until he had his back pressed up against a tree trunk, both of his sides held rather firmly to the tree by thick branches that were conveniently located there. He watched as the wolf growled, then snapped at the thin air right in front of his face. This made him let out a whimper as his canvas bag dropped down with a rather loud clatter of pencils. Shaking even more, he crouched down a bit with fear, his hands covering the back of his head as he tucked his chin down.

(I have to apologize again. I'm trying my best to get over this writer's block.)

Buh bump. Buh bump. His heart beat quickly in his chest as the black werewolf moved onto the little teen. His claws on his feet dug into the ground with ever giant step as he marched with rage. How dare he comes into these woods; trespass onto wolf territory! the wolf thought. The Lycan’s kind, his people or what you want to call them, they lived in these woods, they hunted in the woods, and they died in these woods. How dare a little human think he could just enter. You wouldn’t enter someone’s house if you didn’t know them, would you? The ferocious beast was named Korahn, a very old, but very wise werewolf. He glared down at Daryll as the human coward before him. This human was still a young pup. Even if this human was a youth, it did not give leeway for such a crime as intrusion.

The sound of his jaw snapping quickly placed the teen into submission. The werewolf didn’t even bite down onto anything. Mere air, and already the teenage was about ready to fall. This was just how Korahn expected from humans. Sure, he could talk to one if the situation went in that direction, but he had a very short temper. Humans often said stupid things which made Korahn angry or did things that was just so idiotic, that Korahn couldn’t help be annoyed.

Korahn watched as the boy kneeled down and covered his head. Pathetic. These woods were close to that human meta school too. If this boy was an AHS student, shouldn’t he have some amazing power? And still, he is afraid. Weak humans. The night wind blew a bit harshly; sending dried leaves all over the place. Korahn gave a low growl as he slowly placed his muzzle next to the boy. The scent was almost too vile to bare. Not even the scent of sweet dried leaves could have masked the sweat, and dirt of the human. Humans had a very bad odor, and the taste of human flesh wasn’t all that pleasant either, at least to Korahn. He glared at the boy; hating him just for being there. If only the boy asked to enter, Korahn would have gladly said yes as long as he was just passing by. People would be surprised how far a little courtesy will go. Like knocking on someone’s door.

It had to be done. This boy had to be punished. The black wolf raised his large clawed hand; ready to slice the boy’s body open, but then… Korahn paused. A smell… a scent mixed in with that human’s disgusting odor. It was something familiar, and yet exotic at the same time. Korahn knew what it was. This boy was part wolf… but there was something more to that. His stench was similar to a woman Korahn had once fallen in love with; back in the days where humans had not yet betrayed him. The black wolf glared again as he placed his claws down to his side and gave Daryll another sniff. Korahn’s large muscular body moved forward to the boy. The wolf’s large canine nose pressed against Daryll’s hair as it took in the unpleasant smell.

Korahn backed away slowly as if realizing something. His tail lower between his legs and his ears dropped down flat on his head. No longer did the wolf look angered, but worried, or even shocked. Perhaps dazed? The canine shook its fur a bit as if trying to wake himself up or as if a bucket of water had just been thrown onto him. With a quick wolfish sneeze, and a grunt, the black creature turned around and began to walk away from the boy.

(To hunt was to be free. It cleared his mind of all things that were otherwise important or not important. It gave him the chance to just...relax. Right now, he was indeed hunting, and he was on the trail of a wounded demon. Nottoo shabby, really. Just something to pass the time while he was alone. These were his woods now. He was the clan-king. The name of Devorak was essential to these woods. His clan well-hidden and great in number, and he their lupine leader. Ray Devorak was currently in human form while hunting now, leaping from ground to treebranch to treebranch to ground once more. He landed on the ground...and he paused.)

Ray: Hmmm... Who's out here now?

(An audible curiosity, unanswered by anyone. His wolves were elsewhere and he did not expect to see Rena or Hush right now. What could be that smell? He was sure that it was lupine, even a werewolf like him. Well, not EXACTLY like him. Ray was quite unique, as anyone will tell you. He stepped lightly, but quickly over to a scene playing out. There was a large wolf - werewolf - here...and a human. Not wait... He knew that guy! As far as he could tell, he WASN'T human. And now, as the werewolf sniffed him carefully and realized the same, Ray stepped out into view, still in human form, but clearly a wolf by his scent. He addressed the elder Korahn.)

Ray: I don't think I've ever seen you here before. I see you found out about him.

(He gestured to Daryll when he said this.)

Ray: I don't understand it either. By the by, do you speak as the humans do?

(Wolf society and human society was very different. It was not like the so-called civilization you hear about. Ray wasn't sure how the other wolf would react, but...a territory fight or submission fight might ensue if he was as much wolf as Rena was. Ray kept on his guard, his human exterior strong, yet calm as he waited for some kind of response.)

(OOC: Daryll wanted me to take a turn in his place)

Crunch, crunch. The leaves crackled under his large paws as he travels away from the boy. Korahn was almost out of the clearing when another voice called out to him; interrupting the symphony of munchy dried leaves. His right ear flicked about as he halted in his tracks. Who was it now? Damn the breeze. If only he was standing down wind; he would have smelled the stranger coming. It wasn’t often that someone was able to sneak up on him.

His keen hearing should have picked up the moment in the forest, but Korahn was preoccupied with something. The boy’s scent, along with the calming sounds of snapping twigs. He shook his head in a very canine sort of way as to rid himself of an itch on top of his head. He turned to teen standing there. This boy wasn’t a coward as the other boy was. This teen stood straight, and gave a confident presentation of himself. Korahn grinned. This was what he preferred. He terribly disliked those who showed weakness like Daryll just did. In fact it disgusted him the way some creatures cried and practically begged for their lives.

The large Werewolf stood up tall on his hind legs. His muscular body could not be masked by the thick sheets of fur that covered him. He glanced at Daryll as Ray spoke of him. The wolf nodded, expressing his agreement that the boy was odd. He didn’t understand it…well, not all of it. I thought the woman died before giving birth. That was why he never bothered to search for… a child…

This teen asked a silly question. Could he speak? Of course he could. The wolf reached behind a bush and withdrew a large and dirty brown blanket. Korahn then took a step forward as the collection of pitch fur began to retract into Korahn’s body. On top of his head, long white hair began to grow out until it went past his shoulders. His large wolf mug shrank and became the lips of a middle aged mad. Soon his entire body shifted from a ferocious looking creature to a rather handsome looking fellow… although now completely naked. He didn’t seem to mind the nudity. He was use to it. He used the filthy sheet to drape over his bare body as he stared at the teenager without much of an expression. Only in his eyes did his feelings show, he understood Ray.

”Indeed. I am quite capable in the human language. In fact, I have quite a few published works on linguistics floating around, but they are a few decades before your time. I’m sure if you do some research in your school library you could probably discover a copy laying about in storage. As I remember, A.H.S. had a large storage room in the basement where they kept all the outdated books. Perhaps the basement is used for something else now a day. It’s been several decades since I was a librarian there and I don’t keep track of happenings at the school. In fact, this is my first time returning to these woods in about thirty years. That is why you have never seen me before.

Korahn walked over to the two with the same solid face. He glanced down at Daryll, although he did not know Daryll’s name. His eyes were sad, but those orbs looked as if they were using all their might not to show his sorrow. The lupine returned his gaze to Ray, and held out his hand.

”We are men. We should greet each other like one. My name is Korahn Garou… Your… scent. You’re one too it seems. I understand now. That was why you weren’t afraid of my lycan form. You’re very young. I doubt you were even a pup when I was in these woods with my pack. Long before your time, little one. I suppose it’s my turn to inquire something. What do you call yourself and if I may be so bold, what do you call this scared runt here?”

(Ray took the hand of the older wolf and shook it. It was good to talk to another decent wolf, someone who understand the heritage of werewolfism as a wolf does, and not as a human. For the longest time, Ray thought himself alone. Then, he'd met Rena, who was something of a progenitor to werewolves maybe, a Keirrn. But even though she was a wolf in mind, body, and soul, she was still different. A good friend...but different, in a way. She was a part of something he was not. Korahn was much like him, only older, and clearly wiser.)

Ray: Sorry about the question. Not all of our immediate kin speak as humans do. I am Erastor Devorak, leader of the new clan in these woods. I've managed to organize the dire-wolves of this region so that we're more than a match for the rampant demon infestations. As for that boy...

(He gestured over to Daryll, who was acting - dissappointedly - like a human. Daryll was not the same as them. He was more like Hush, really. A victim thrown into a new world for which the only choice was to adapt or die.)

Ray: His name is Daryll. I think he must be only part-wolf, not the same as us or even the wild ones. I don't know his full story. He only stumbled upon my home some time ago. Think of him as a highly-submissive pup. He's not use to us yet.

At first, the boy’s reactions to the werewolf’s actions were much like a humans. He wasn’t really prepared for the sudden pausing of his actions, where he was not ripped up but he was rather… sniffed out. His hair ruffled ‘bout here and there to the direction of the air from Korahn’s nose. This brought his gaze to lift up just a bit, as if wondering what the heck the other was doing. And as if this wasn’t enough… after being scared half to death by the being, he started to feel a bit… strange. It was as if this being in front of him was somewhat familiar… but he couldn’t lay a finger on how.

The fear and familiarity were replaced by a bit of confusion as the large, furry biped started to wander off. He didn’t say anything, but he jumped a bit again once Ray came into view, and the two of them started talking. All throughout the little conversation the two were having, Daryll kept silent. He did react internally to Korahn’s sayings about his acting too much like a human, but he did appreciate how the other was slightly standing up for him.

Once Ray had slightly introduced him, the boy slowly stood up. There was a slight blush on his face as he remembered how he was acting, much like the scared pup he was. He had not known about his wolven side until just recently, and he was still asking himself a few things. “I… guess I should talk now, instead of cower.” he spoke softly. “My name is Daryll Stonve, as Ray told you. I actually didn’t know about my being part wolf until just recently… and I’ve still been wondering on how… I received my heritage.”

The boy seemed to trail off into his own thoughts as his speech grew quieter, his eyes glazing over very slightly. However, it didn’t take too long for him to shake his head, to get himself back focused on the two that were in front of him.

The old wolf gave a smile finally after Ray took his hand. Good, someone who I can talk to. Korahn nodded in respects as Ray apologized for his inquiry. He didn’t mind the question all too much since Ray had clearly demonstrated his inner strength; his confidence in himself. Korahn respected those who were proud enough of themselves to treat people or werewolves, or any other intelligent creature for that matter, as equals. In fact, it was just common courtesy to be respectful; shaking hands, keeping eye contact, standing up straight.

Of course, Korahn did think perhaps he might have gone over board with the little pup. Daryll had quivered beneath him, and he supposed he didn’t make the situation much easier. Korahn faced Daryll as Ray announced the young one’s name.

At this time, the puppy stood up and declared that he would no longer act like a frighten little rodent, and would speak now. Korahn gave a sniffle as the cold breeze blanketed them. His lupin form was much warmer. He stared down at the boy as he introduced himself. He did not show any signs of stress as Daryll told him his name, although deep inside he felt pain, and even a bit of anger. Daryll’s scent was so much like his past love’s scent.

Takako was the woman’s name. And his scent was wolf too. Korahn figured out who the boy was when he first too in his scent. It wasn’t just some coincidence that he smelled of both Takako and himself. He loved Takako, and their unborn child. This was far before Korahn became resentful towards the human race. He cleared his throat a bit. He looked away briefly as Daryll trailed off a bit.

”Daryll, is it? Is that really what your mother called you? Eh hem. I apologize. I did not mean for that to sound blunt. I was not insulting your name. I was merely surprised you were called Daryll. I’ve always liked that name…” Korahn must of have sounded a bit crazy, or at the very least, confusing. Korahn was acting rather awkward; those who could read others well would tell that this old wolf was not at ease, although it was difficult to tell since Korahn kept a straight, proud face. Although he seemed proper, and strong, he felt sick to his stomach, and his heart felt as if someone was crushing it in between a vice. It hurt to look at Daryll. He felt regret, longing, resentment, and even guilt.

He’s so much like Takako. He has her eyes, and her lips… But… He definitely has my nose, and my ears. Why Takako… why did you name him Daryll. You wanted to name our son Joshua. Why did you choose the name I chose… Even after our fight. Why did you leave me… Korahn gave a blank stare as if he were in a sorrowful daydream. He swallowed with difficulty as he looked up to the moon. He woke from his reminiscing and returned his stare to Daryll. He extended his hand towards the boy for a good shake.

”I apologize for giving you such a scare earlier. Perhaps it was a little over the top. I don’t do well with kids anymore. I used to, but I don’t have kids of my own so… hmmm… I don’t get many chances to practice.” His voice cracked a bit, but he managed to clear his throat in time before it too noticeable. He looked at Ray and then back to Daryll. There were more wolves in the forest then he had expected. He looked into Daryll’s eyes. ”Where are your parents, pup? Mr. and Mrs. Stonve…”

Ray was glad to see that Daryll was a little more in acceptance of the circumstances of his life, even now accompanied by two wolves that could tear him to shreds. It showed at least a little promise. However...)

”Daryll, is it? Is that really what your mother called you? Eh hem. I apologize. I did not mean for that to sound blunt. I was not insulting your name. I was merely surprised you were called Daryll. I’ve always liked that name…”

(Something...was wrong with Korahn. Ray felt it...sensed it...even somehow began to smell it. He was certainly able to see it. There, for some unknown reason while he was talking to Daryll, Korahn was put on edge. Maybe a human or partial-human wouldn't notice, but Ray could see these things coming a mile away. As he heard the older wolf's words, he began to notice a trend in them. He thought he caught nostalgia, even reminescing. The question was...what about?)

Ray: Korahn, just what are you thinking about?

(He recalled how Korahn had thoroughly taken in Daryll's scent, how methodical he was. Ray himself had not been as thorough, but he registed the same confusion as Korahn. The thing about that was...Ray was starting to believe that this was no mere coincidence, especially not when the older one said...)

”Where are your parents, pup? Mr. and Mrs. Stonve...”

(Ray's eyes widened. He had just taken an experimental sniff of the air here. He couldn't believe it. Those two smell somewhat alike. Or rather, Daryll's rather-hidden lupine scent was more prominent around Korahn's. This could not be! Could it? Was this the reason for Daryll's slight werewolfism? Was this wolf somehow...related to him?)

”Where are your parents, pup? Mr. and Mrs. Stonve...”

At the question, the boy almost immediately froze as he started to get lost in his own thoughts. His mother… he hadn’t really known her. Distant memories were all that he had left of her. Daryll did not notice how Korahn acted, even though he was just a few meters away from him. This was typical of human eyes and senses. It took a little bit for the boy to answer. “Mom… she’s dead, and Dad…. I don’t know.”

His gaze floated down to the ground before he continued, “I don’t remember anything about my mother... and all that I really have for family that I can love is my cousin, Luanna. I live with my aunt and uncle, but it’s not much of a life there.”

Those that could smell out human feelings could tell that Daryll was starting to feel just a little uncomfortable. His memories of where he lived right now were becoming clearer. “All that I remember, before I came to live with my aunt and uncle… is that I was born in a country overseas known as Canada. After mom died, I went to live with my aunt and uncle in Tokyo… At first, things went well. After the first week or so is when… things started.” He sighed before he continued, his eyes closing, “My aunt was starting to get a little too overprotective about my cousin when I was around, and my uncle made sure that everything around the house, except for cooking, fell to me. If I didn’t do something fast enough or if I didn’t do it perfectly… he’d beat me.”

The last three words came out in a bit of a shaky voice before he stopped. His lips pinched shut a little before the boy started to shake a little bit.

(Well, I got over my writer's block. Thanks for waiting)

The old wolf watched as Daryll quickly got uncomfortable over the question. Korahn thought to himself: He looks so much like his mother. If you can hear and see us now, Takako, you got your wish. He closed his eyes and imagined Takako as Daryll mentioned that he didn’t have any memories of her. But Korahn did. He imagined her smile, her long brown hair, and her shimmering brown eyes. She was just a human, but she had so much power over Korahn. He gulped with difficulty and then cleared his throat with a soft “eh hem.” He looked down at Ray as Ray asked what he was thinking about. The wolf smirked at the younger lycan. It would seem that Ray’s sense of smell was keener then Daryll’s. That was expected of course. Daryll, after all was only a half-ling. His mother, although stunningly beautiful, had no powers, and his father was… well… Korahn. Korahn took a deep breath and exhaled calmly as he looked up into the sky. The moon was a gorgeous half luna. How ironic that this was the night that this half bred Daryll met his other side.

” I am merely pondering foolish ideas. Nothing of great importance. You could say I was slightly daydreaming.” Korahn smiled down at Ray; cheerful, yet obviously fake. His statement was untrue, and it was clear Korahn was avoiding a real answer. He looked back at his son as he continued to talk. Korahn made a slight grunt to Daryll’s last statement, but for the most part, the old wolf reacted as if he could care less if the boy’s human adoptive parents had pounded on him. Korahn shifted the dirty blanket a bit to cover more of his waist; causing the stench of the woods and dirt to thrust into the air. The elder werewolf crossed his large muscular arms over his chest to rest as he eyes Daryll as if trying to read his thoughts. That was of course impossible, seeing as Korahn was neither a telepath, an empath, or a soul searcher. His face was filled with what looked like disgusted, mixed with sympathy. It was an odd face, not many could pull off such an expression with two very different branches, but Korahn expressed his thoughts with the clarity of crystal. ”And you never thought of fighting back, did you?”

The statement was cold, and definitely filled with criticism. Korahn remembered the way Takako would cry when her father would hit her. She was only 16 when they met, but she had grown up so fast. So much knowledge, and so much experience on one little teenager. He closed his eyes and just… remembered…

”The dishes aren’t clean enough!” Smack. A loud thud echoed through the forest. A young Korahn’s wolf ears perked to the sound which quickly cause him to turn. More sounds of something being struck. Smack. Smack. Smack. The youthful Korahn ignored the sound, until weeping was heard. With his curiosity taking over, the young wolf walked through the forest until he came to a small wooden Japanese styled home by the stream. There, a young girl laid out side her house crying and with many bruises. On the side of the old home was an Asian man beginning to gather up some wood. He looked much different then the Caucasian teen laying there. The man reeked of whiskey. Korahn could smell it from where he was hiding. The memory of the stench was still sketched deeping in Korahn’s mind. The youthful wolf watched the girl cry, until the man called out once more. ”And don’t forget to take in the laundry before you come in!”

The past Korahn growled and walked up to the man with wolfly speed; undetected until the man turned around with his arm full of wood. And then. Smack. Korahn struck the human down with a single strike. It wasn’t enough to kill him; only knock him unconscious… He was drunk anyways. Korahn quickly reverted to his human form as he grabbed hold of a pair of pants that was hanging on the clothe line. He put them on and walked towards the stream with the girl’s father’s mug. More crying. The girl looked up and saw a mug of water held out to her. A bit confused, she looked up more and saw Korahn sitting there looking rather angry.

”Just…Just drink it alright? And stop your crying. You look ridiculous.” The white haired man said as he waved the glass in front of the girl’s face. The girl gave a small smile and sat up; taking the mug and mouthing the words “Thank you.”

Another flashback. Pebbles being tossed onto a window. Takako looked up from her book and walked over to the window. More pebbles clattered gently on the window. Takako stared back at her sleeping father; drool running down his mouth, and the smell of whiskey looming. Takako used a lot of her strength to stop herself from laughing as she opened the window and placed her finger to her mouth and said “Shhh.” Soon she snuck out the front door, and ran into the woods with an excited smile.

”Takako!” Korahn was dressed in normal human clothing; a t-shirt and jeans.

”Korahn!” She leaped into his embraced; lips meeting in a passionate kiss.

Another flash. Takako’s father holding up a knife towards Takako in a drunk rampage. The window as well as much of the wall around the window shattered as Korahn in his full Lycan form crashed through. In a mighty growl he knocks the human drunk off his feet. Takako scream and falls backwards.

”Don’t… you… ever… touch… her…” Then Korahn transformed into his human self. Takako breaths heavy, but soon wakes up from her shock as she sees her lover and everything about him. Uncaring whether he was human or not, Takako once again jumped into his arms, and they escaped; Korahn carrying her all the way.

Another flash. Korahn in his human form waking up next to his wife; both clothe-less. Korahn stands from their bed and looks out side their wood cabin with a bright smile.

”If we have a child. I want it to be a boy. I’d like to call him Joshua.”

”Joshua? Are you sure?”

”Well, if we ever do decide to have a son. What would you like to call him then?”

”Hmmm… … … … …Daryll…”

Another flash. Korahn watches with a smile as Takako leaves the cabin to go fruit picking for that night’s meal. Another flash. It was only an hour later when Takako returned with only apples. Korahn tilts his head as he knew Takako hated apples. Takako grins at Korahn and begins to take off her clothe. Unable to resist his lover. Korahn makes love to her. An hour later, the door opens and Takako enters the cabin to find her lover making love to another women. Korahn is shocked to see his wife enter the cabin since he thought he was currently in an intimate situation with her. He looks down at what he thought was his wife, only to find an orange haired woman laying there with an evil grin. Takako runs off into the forest crying. But, before Korahn could run after her, a knife is thrusted into Korahn’s gut. Korahn howls, and slashed the Orange haired women’s neck open. The wolf runs into the forest so quickly that he did not even notice the orange haired woman didn’t even splurt out any blood when sliced. Unknown to him, Takako had met up with an old lady in the woods. This was something not in his memory.

”Why are you crying little one?” The old women asked as Takako kneeled at a tree; sobbing, and vomiting. Takako could not answer. The old woman laughed slightly as she kneeled down next to Takako and placed an arm around her.”There there little one. Where are your parents?”

”… I…My… my father lives in the…house near the stream…” Her voice is shaky; and distressed; for obvious reasons.

”Oh my. I’m sorry hon, but just yesterday, that man was found dead. People say he was attacked by a werewolf. His body was in such a horror that I can’t even explain to you.” Takako gave a loud sob as she held her stomach. ”You are with child. I’m old. I know these kinds of things.

”I… I don’t want to have his child! No! I don’t want to give birth to this monster! AHHH! No! NO! Kill me please! Please!” Takako collapsed into the old lady’s arms; crying hysterically now. The old women held the girl and patted her on the back. The elderly female’s eyes began to glow as she solfly moved away from Takako.

”My dear child. I bless you with something even greater then death. I give you the power to take revenge on those who do you wrong. Takako watched in a numb state as the old woman opened her palm to reveal a glowing black marble. The marble floats into the air and slowly embeds itself into Takako’s neck. The girl’s eyes go dule as they begin to turn completely black. ”Use your unborn child’s life energy, and take revenge on Korahn.”

Now returning to Korahn’s thoughts. Korahn ran into the woods. Screaming a the top of his lungs. Calling his lover’s name. Then, he found her standing there in a clearing. He called out to her in a desperate cry, but Takako stared at him dully. She raised her arm as a black surge of electricity exploded out from her palm and slammed into Korahn. The young wolf is thrown back from the dark energy and crashes into a tree; blood pouring out of his stomach would from the earlier knifing. He coughed up some more blood as he stood up.

”Takako!”

”I want you to feel pain. I wish… for you to suffer.” Another blast was fired, but this time Korahn took it’s full power. Korahn falls backward onto the ground; a large hole blown straight into his chest. Barely alive, Korahn watches his love with blurred vision. Takako lowers her hand and then begins to choke. Suddenly, the black marble on her neck shatters and falls to the ground. Tears running down her face.

”K..Korahn! AHH! A sudden gasp. The sounds of bone cracking and the gushing of blood echoes out as Takako holds her stomach. Her stomach begins to grown. Larger and larger her stomach gets as if her nine months was magically compressed into nine minutes. There she laid on the ground in agony. Her womb being forced to stretch, and her hips pushed outward from the inside. The old lady came into view as Takako screams. The elderly women smirks as her wrinkles pull against her face until they turn into a gorgeous green haired woman. Behind her the orange haired woman appears; a large bloodless wound on her neck. She grinned down at the woman as thunder roared across the sky. Rain fell. Korahn felt it hit his body as he vision began to fade. Now he could only remember voices.

”If I knew my head would almost come off I would have had you be Takako.”

”Quit your whining. It’s over already. Did you get the wolf’s semen?... No?... Hmmm. I see… It doesn’t matter. We don’t need it. That wasn’t our focus anyways. Now we just wait.”

Thunder crashed and a flash of lightning waved across the stormy sky. Korahn wanted to move, but his wounds wouldn’t allow it. He passed out for a long while. Awoken only when he heard the cries of a baby.

”My… baby… I…

”You won’t live for more then a few more minutes. At least do us a favor as payment for making sure your son will live. We will be taking him to your older sister. Marianne Mitzuhashi. She is married to a Timothy Stonve. Now tell us. What will his name be?”

”I want his…name to… be… … … … And then Korahn was out cold. His body desperately needing to heal, it shut off everything that was unnecessary for life. His consciousness being one of them.

Daryll? Korahn shook his head as he stopped thinking about the past. He looked at Ray and gave a somewhat embarrassed smirk. He then looked back at Daryll again. Making another chuckle; but his eyes looked depressed.

”So… Daryll, you’re a student at A.H.S? Tell me about your experiences at school if you could be so kind.

(For hearing more of a background on Daryll's life, Ray felt a little more sympathetic for the boy, mostly because he looked down a little on how most humans acted towards wolves. What worried him more was the way Korahn spoke. It was edgey and it was somewhat suspicious to him. Ray began to think, more and more, that these two were indeed father and son, but he did not have the courage to just say it. He had to speak to Korahn privately first. He had to be sure that the older wolf was not just protective of the boy for other reasons. Looking at Korahn, he felt a cold shill run down his spine. It wasn't him. It was something about him, something associated with him. That look in his eyes... This wolf had suffered. Ray finally managed to get the words out.)

Ray: You seem especially concerned for the boy, Korahn. Does he remind you of something in your past? Your eyes tell a tale of great suffering, even though you try and hide it.

(How ironic. Even though Ray did not know it yet, the three of them were apparently connected in a way that was both sinister and perverse. That cold shiver running down his back was a clue, though. Something was wrong with this setup. Ray began to look a little worried, a little cautious. He began to sniff carefully of the scents around them...)

”And you never thought of fighting back, did you?”

When the boy heard Korahn say this, he gazed back up at him. There was a slight fear in his eyes as if he wanted to say something, but he didn’t… Many times, he wished that he could have fought back, but he couldn’t. Simply put, he didn’t really have the heart, or the strength, to stand up to his step-father… his uncle. “No… I did not fight back… I did want to… but I couldn’t,” was all that he replied as he let out a soft sigh. His gaze drifted back down to the ground.

However, the gaze didn’t stay there for long, for Korahn had asked another question. ”So… Daryll, you’re a student at A.H.S? Tell me about your experiences at school if you could be so kind.” With a slight smile, the boy shifted his gaze back up to the lycan in his human form. For some reason, it felt easy to talk to this being… too easy. “Well… What has happened so far is that I got to AHS as the very end of last year, so I did not get any classes to go to. I did meet a few people about here and there, ones who knew more about themselves than I did. They are like family, in a way…”

After a bit, he shifted in his stance before he continued, “My room, I’ve been able to switch it around to my liking… It’s more of a space for me to find relaxation for the day, aside for when I come into here. Both here and there is where I do most of my drawing.” At this, he lightly tapped the black canvas bag that he had with his right foot. “This holds my drawing things… and that rock is usually where I sat while I drew.”

Korahn made a somewhat unnoticeable frown as he listened on about Daryll’s home life with Mr. and Mrs. Stonve. Daryll didn’t fight back, or tried to resist. He really wasn’t wolf like at all… He was so much more like his mother. A weak human. Korahn took a hard gulp; each swallow feeling like jagged rocks shoved down his throat. He coughed to clear his throat as he turned with a cheerful, yet false smile. At least Daryll was attending a decent school; a place where he wouldn’t have to deal with regular humans. At least here at AHS, his son could be considered normal. With classmates who were vampires, nekos, kitsunes, meta-humans, and everything else in imagination, Daryll would be able to grow up not feeling isolated like both Korahn’s and Takako’s sad childhoods. He remembered the way the students would fool around in the library, and how he said “shhh” enough times a day to rival the hissing of a steam engine.

It was after Takako’s death did he come upon AHS. It was a haven for those like him; not only werewolves, but other powerful creatures. He remembered how he ran around frantically in the woods after he fully healed from Takako’s attack. Her body was gone, the two women were gone, and the baby?... … … Flash.

”Takako! Where are you?!? Answer me!!!” His voice roared through the woods as his human body almost erupted in black fur. His jaw cracked and morphed into the mug of a wolf. He stood there in his lycan form and howled with anger. Only to have something be thrown at him. A small stick.

”Shut up you stupid wolf. Some of us are trying to sleep.” A voice called out and Korahn wuickly turned in that direction with a snarl. He met the eyes of a female kitsune. He fox body slim and elegant; accented by five long, bushy tails. She glared at him as if he had just woken up. She was beautiful, but nothing compared to Korahn’s lovely Takako. The kitsune gave a smug expression as the soft glow of a few blueish-white butterflies float around her. The werewolf grunted.

”Did you see three women and a baby pass by?” The wolf said as he calmed down. He needed to be calm in order to keep a straight mind for figuring out where his wife and child were.

”I saw only two women. One had orange hair and the other one had green hair. There was no third one. And yes, they had a baby with them, but… They mentioned it was a still-born. The baby is dead.” A howl roared out. Flash. Back to reality.

“-… and that rock is usually where I sat while I drew.”

Korahn blinked absent-mindedly at Daryl before turning to the rock where Daryll liked to sketch. He smiled lightly and imagined how Daryll must have came to this spot to get away from everything and just work on his art. She looks back at Darll, almost in a dazed, dreaming state. Flash.

”What are you drawing Takako?”

”Huh! Oh! Korahn, you scared me. Don’t sneak up on me like that!” Takako laughed and playfully turned around and struck her lover’s side gently with her notebook. She smiled as she sat there on her stool just outside their wood cabin. Staring down at her elegant drawing of the forest, she smirks. Korahn chuckled and hugged his wife from behind as they admire her artistic abilities. Returning back to reality, Korahn’s eyes shifted away from Daryll’s canvas bag as if he could not even stand to look at anything related to art. What a turn of emotion that must have seemed. He grunted a bit and turned slightly to the left as if he had seen something.

”I’m glad to hear you’re having such a good time at school.” Korahn didn’t even realize what kind of questions he was asking. He didn’t think that his questions could have been linked together so easily. The older wolf looked at Ray and found Ray with an inquiring expression. Korahn looked seriously into Ray’s eyes as Ray asked him why he was so concerned for Daryl, and if he reminded Korahn of someone. Ray even was forward enough to mention what he saw in Korahn’s eyes. The elder lycan took a deep breath before giving Ray one of those reassuring smiles. It was kind of a sleezy smile as if he was hiding something, but for the most part, it was sincere. It was a “Don’t worry yourself about me” type of smile. Ray was very intelligent. Korahn could see that clearly. Korahn looked down at Daryll with a serious expression.

”Daryll. Would you mind giving Ray and I a few moments to discuss an important matter? You can sit on your rock and draw ok? After that, I’d like to see your work.” The older male grasped onto Daryll’s shoulder gently, but still firmly as he led him towards the rock where Daryll often drew at. He patted the boy on the back as he chuckled. It was much more of a command then a request, but its tone was still light-hearted. Korahn left the boy at the rock as he walked towards Ray with a stern look. He kept his voice down as to not let Daryll hear. ”What are you thinking pup? I am assuming you figured it out. So, what do you make of this situation? And if you have no clue wha I am talking about, and are slightly confused, then let’s just say this is one big joke, ok?”

He was certain that he had hit the nail upon the head, because Korahn now asked Daryll to give them time to speak in private. The older wolf spoke low enough so as to not let Daryll hear, as did Ray. He knew that this was going to be difficult for both of them. He didn't know why he knew that, but he did and that was all that mattered.)

"What are you thinking, pup? I am assuming you figured it out. So, what do you make of this situation? And if you have no clue wha I am talking about, and are slightly confused, then let’s just say this is one big joke, ok?"

Ray: If it's one big joke, then I'm not laughing, Korahn. That boy smells of wolf and of human. The wolf scent is hard to pick up, but it's much more recognizable with you around. Even in my own home, I could hardly tell what he was, but you've changed all that. I'm sure of it now. Your scent matches him, at least in part.

(He let that part sink in for a moment, so that the older of the two would understand that this 'pup' was fully aware of the situation, that that boy and he were related. Ray's own expression had gone from stern to concerned. He wasn't sure what to think now, knowing what he did know.)

Ray: Korahn...if he's your son, you have to tell him. He's not able to tell by scent. It's like torture to be standing right there and he not knowing it. He doesn't even know why he is the way he is. Don't kkeep him in the dark. He deserves to know.

Being human, the boy was of course oblivious to the fact of who exactly Korahn was. However, human feelings also held their own questions and their own possible answers. The fifteen year old, as instructed by the lycan, made his way over to the rock and sat down upon it. A slight smile formed on his face as he placed his right hand upon the rock, having been here time and time again. “I will try my best,” he spoke softly as he set the black canvas bag beside him on the rock with a little clinking of pencils again.

It took some time for Daryll to find the right sketchbook. Then again, the young one had about four or five thirty page sketchbooks inside the black canvas bag. Each were held together by a metal coil. Some of the sketchbooks seemed to be older than others… Perhaps he wanted to hold onto some of the sketches and drawings he had done beforehand. Maybe he even had more sketchbooks in his dorm room. In any case, the boy had found the proper sketchbook. It had yet to be fully filled, as it was the newest one he had.

After another moment of thinking, the boy took out a mechanical pencil, a red and white mechanical pencil that had a row of five maple leafs across the grip. It was obvious that the pencil was made in Canada. His eyes went half-closed for a moment as he opened the sketchbook up to a blank page. However, it didn’t take too long for him to focus. His hand seemed to grow a life of its own as the pencil started to skitter across the page. Slowly, the form of Korahn’s lycan side was starting to appear on the page. Bit by bit, the boy focused, drew, erased, redrew, and shaded each individual part of the werewolf. ‘I hope that this is good,’ he thought as the two continued talking and he kept on sketching.

Korahn listened to Ray’s words, and once again became serious. He crossed his arms over his bare chest and looked down at the teen wolf. This boy was definitely smarter then he looked, Korahn thought. He looked back at Daryll with such a low frown and a depressed mug that his mouth was in danger of falling off completely. He lowered his large arms and placed his hands over his face and rubbed a bit roughly. His cheeks and nose contorted with the smushing of his features. He looked as if he were trying to convince himself that the whole situation was just some big joke. He removed his large palms from his now red face, and placed a hand on Ray’s shoulder; edging him to listen.

”Here kiddo. Listen to me for a moment. That boy over there doesn’t have to know anything about me being his father. There is a lot of hurt and a lot of emotional suffering that I don’t want him to be involved in. I think it’s best that he deals with the empty feeling inside rather then have to deal with what his past has in stored for him. Now see here, I don’t want you going off and telling him anything that might make him upset, alright? Even if he doesn’t know it, he’s still my son, and I have a right to protect him. There are a lot of powerful beings out there and I rather keep Daryll away from those types of entities. Got it Sonny? What am I saying? You’re probably more confused now then before. Ok, here’s what’s up…”

Korahn stood up straight and eyed the adolescent wolf in front him with a stare that just rang of authority. He wasn’t Ray’s Father, nor was he one of Ray’s teachers. Korahn wasn’t even the school Librarian anymore, but something about the way he held himself announced he was very serious. It wasn’t threatening… more guilt giving then anything else. He crosses his arms and he tapped his foot a bit impatiently; an old habit still lingering when he was apart of the A.H.S. staff over a decade ago.

”I don’t want you to tell Daryll anything because, although he explained he’s had a rough life, it’s a lot better then what I can offer him. Now, before you go on about how he deserves to know, ask yourself this. Does that kid deserve pain? If you really want Daryll to be hurt once he learns of his past, then keep trying to convince me that I should tell him. Really pup. I appreciate your concern and I value your honesty, courage, and conscious, but I’m going to have to ask you to promise me that you won’t give any word to Daryll.”

What a stubborn old Wolf, but his heart was in the right place. Korahn then sighed and took a deep breath. A past he didn’t want to get Daryll involved with? How suspicious that might have sounded. How… curious Ray would be now after something like that being said. The elder wolf ran his hands through his long white hair before facing Daryll. A silly promise wasn’t going to keep Ray from feeling like he was keeping something from Daryll. After all, Ray had said he was the Alpha Wolf now a day. He remembered the Alpha wolf back in his days, and how he was banished from the pack for trying to take a piece of meat from the alpha female. He had thought she was finished with it. He knew it was the responsibility for all lycan that would drive Ray to want to tell little Daryll. Korahn shook his head as if in disbelief. He faced Ray again; looking defeated.

”Alright… I’ll tell him. But when the time is right. Right now would be too much of a shock. Just keep this under wraps for me until the situation is more comfortable.”

Meanwhile, as Daryll was drawing, a tiny white-blue butterfly crawled up the rock and hovered onto Daryll’s notebook. It seemed to glow a bit before flying off into the forest.

”Hey, Daryll! You can come join us again!”

(He had to admit, the older wolf had a very thorough case, even though he was being highly evasive. Ray didn't want to say anything until the man was done, and that took a while. He pointed out the fact that it might be harder for Daryll to accept the life he has, but even though there was a great pain involved, a pain greater than any he has now, Ray somehow wasn't entirely convinced. No matter what Korahn told him, he knew that the pain of not knowing would get him later. He was part wolf. It was the reality of his life. The wild had him in its grasp. If he didn't acknowledge it, it wouldn't go away. It would attack without mercy, without regret. The unprepared rabbit is always killed by the hungry wolf. It never fails. Sensing that Ray would press him on, regardless, Korahn continued...)

”Alright... I’ll tell him, but when the time is right. Right now would be too much of a shock. Just keep this under wraps for me until the situation is more comfortable.”

Ray: I'm sorry I pressed you into this, Korahn, but you'll both suffer more in the long-run, I'm sure. Even if it hurts, you're better off knowing so at least you can deal with the problem at hand.

”Hey, Daryll! You can come join us again!”

(Hmmm... That was strange... For a moment there, he could have sworn he smelled something, something faint, but...familiar. Ray brushed it off for now. He didn't have time for faint impressions right now.)

“One moment, Korahn,” the boy spoke a bit in frustration as he was continually erasing and re-drawing the picture’s feet and hands. No matter what he tried, the picture didn’t seem to look right once they were finished. And it didn’t help that the little white-blue butterfly skittered up onto his sketchbook. However, the boy held his peace and didn’t stab it through with his pencil. The butterfly flew away, and Daryll calmed down a little. “Dang…” he muttered as he kept on trying to draw the hands and feet.

Letting out a sigh of defeat, the boy placed the open sketchbook onto the canvas bag and set the pencil right beside it. Slowly, he stood and gazed up at Korahn and Ray, smiling a little. “Ah, well… I’ll probably be able to finish that another day,” Daryll chuckled a little bit after he said this, as if he was trying to reassure himself. However, he sighed at the end of his laughing. He made his way back over to the two wolves, standing within a foot of both of them. He didn’t say anything, just looked at the two.

A small wind made its way through the forest, and this made him let out a slight grunt of surprise. Daryll went back to his sketchbook, closing it. Picking up the pencil along with the drawing pad, the boy placed the two items within his drawing bag. After he zippered the canvas bag shut, he slung the canvas over his shoulder and made his way back to the two again.

All he did was gaze up at the two of them and keep silent, but it was clear that there were many thoughts going through his mind. ‘Why did he ask for Ray to head off to the side with him, and leave me to draw on the rock?’ the boy was asking himself as he gazed from Korahn to Ray, and back to Korahn. Daryll was growing a little bit of a frustrated look on his face as he tried to think of the possible answer.

(*laughs* I go through a lot of writer's block so sorry about this)

”No, no, no. Don’t apologize, Ray. You’re absolutely right. I should have thought about what Darll was feeling instead of basing my decision solely on what I thought was best… But, you see… I do care for him, although I just realized he is mine and Takako’s son. Oh. Forget that name. It’s not important. Hmm. You know, for a pup, you really are something, Ray. Well, maybe I should stop calling you a pup. You are far more intelligent and understanding then I first assumed you were. Then again, I suppose I was being an ass for assume, eh? Hah. Anyways. Quiet now. He’s here.”

Korahn cleared his throat with a slight cough as to tell Ray not to reply to the subject they had just been talking about. Korahn watched as Daryll’s little form came up to them. He was so small when compared to Ray or himself. This little thing was a werewolf? Sometimes half breeds didn’t reap the benefits of lycan blood, nor did they gain any weakness. Was that the exchange Daryll was not awarded? Korahn cleared his throat a bit as he thought of the What if’s and What Could of’s. What if Daryll didn’t get any of his lycan abilities. Daryll would be able to live normally. Then again, what if Daryll gained all the weaknesses of werewolves? The older wolf patted Daryll on the back as the boy gave a frustrated expression.

”Why the long face little one? Drawing not going the way you planned? So, both of you hungry? I caught a deer back there that I haven’t started yet. I’d be happy to share. I don’t have a pack of my own, so there’s no one to eat with. I caught it just as little Daryll here come into the clearing. Ray, care to join me? So, Daryll. Ever eaten deer before? And I don’t mean those expensive dishes in restaurants called venison.” Korahn gave a hearty laugh and patted Daryll on the head and roughed up the boy’s hair. Korahn smirked and looked at Ray, but his face changed so quickly that it was almost comical… almost. Korahn made a fierce growl and pushed Ray to the side and glared into the forest. ”A butterfly!”

He breathed hard as his teeth began to sharpen and his face began to extend, but Korahn quickly remembered about both the youngsters standing there; mostly likely wondering what the hell was going on. The wolf sighed as his teeth became normal and his face reformed into that of a man’s. He turned to Ray and looked at him a bit guilty.

”Sorry about that kiddo. I.. hmm. I just really hate butterflies.” He said as he readjusted the blanket around his waist. He turned to Darll and forced a laugh out.”Well, how about that deer. I’m starving.”

Ray: Tanako, eh? Something else I'll have to pry out of him, but not now...

(The suspicion grew in Ray's mind, but he still didn't have all of the pieces yet. He had perhaps an inkling of an idea of what might be going on, but he didn't have it yet. Ray was wary, though it was less obvious upon his human face. Furthermore, even though he had quietly decided to respect Korahn's wishes, he knew that it was going to come out sometime, and he also had the feeling that Daryll would suffer more without knowledge of its coming. Ray sighed. He would have to do what he had to do in order to keep the peace. He claimed that these were his woods, so he had to back that up. In any case, Korahn now offered them both a part of his meal. He said that he caught a deer and was willing to share. This older man seemed fairly content with the offering. Ray smiled at this.)

Ray: Sure, I'll join you. I haven't had deer in a while. The pack and I usually hunt the deadlier prey out here to keep them from overrunning us.

(He was referring to the demons and lethal animals of the forest here. They had almost wiped out the wolf, but Ray brought them back on top when he became their leader. He wondered, though... Was Korahn's pack a bunch of dire wolves? Or were they werewolves themselves? Hmmm...)

”A butterfly!”

Ray: A wh- Hey!

(Suddenly, he was pushed aside as Korahn started to pursue something nearby, presumeably a butterfly. Ray saw it there before he stopped and it flew off. Just a quick glimpse. It set off something in Ray's mind, though. It was enough. He'd seen something like this before. A grown werewolf chasing after a butterfly in anger? That was uncommon, but he knew something more now as Korahn tried to cover for himself.)

”Sorry about that kiddo. I... hmm... just really hate butterflies.”

Ray: Is that so? Well, nevermind. Let's get to that deer. And then later, you can tell me how you know those women.

“Deer is fine, thanks,” the boy spoke a little softly. He was about to continue when Korahn growled, his face starting to elongate as he started towards where the butterfly was headed. However, after the man collected himself and calmed down, Daryll found himself blinking. Much like Ray, the boy did not know why such a being would suddenly become angry at a butterfly. ‘Maybe something bothered him in the past… I might need to talk to him later,’ he thought before he closed his eyes.

“Actually… I have never had venison or any type of deer meat before,” Daryll spoke with a slight smile, “so this will be an experience for me.” After a moment, the boy found himself chuckling, “And, Korahn… I was just wondering, but would you be able to help me with my drawing, if you don’t mind?”

(Sorry about the shortness of the post.)

Korahn was greatly relieved as Ray mentioned something else besides the butterfly. Ray spoke of how they should go get to the deer. Korahn nodded in agreement and began to lead them towards the direction of the kill; very happy that he didn’t look too suspicious. But then Ray finished off his statement which made Korahn halt immediately in his tracks. Those women. Korahn turned around and stared at Ray abruptly, and almost in a glare, but not quite that extreme. He was more surprised then anything. Does he know them? Korahn stood up straight, now clearly looking as if he were trying to pull himself together. He took a big breath and let out a laugh so loud, yet so fake, it cause the many sleeping birds to wake and fly off from the tree tops in a swarm of angry caws and screeches.

”AH HA HA HA HAAA! You’re funny! What ever do you mean Ray? What Women?! AH HA HA HA ok let’s eat.” Korahn’s laughter was obnoxious, yet it appeared to be on purpose. In truth, it was just a distraction to get them away from the subject. He turned quickly and placed a hand on Daryll’s shoulder and began walking; steering little Daryll towards the deer at a fast pace. It wasn’t a long walk. In fact, the deer’s corpse’s scent could have been picked up easily if the wind didn’t push it away. Just one of those nights. The moon was full; Thank the Gods for that. Korahn felt stronger, and more confident when the moon was out.

Daryll spoke of how he had never had venison or any type of deer. This would definitely be a good experience… hopefully. Korahn thought of Ray’s words as they slightly walked ahead of him. Ray knows. There is no doubt…Well. Maybe it was just a coincidence? Hmm. Maybe I’m being to hopeful. They came to a large tree where the deer was laying. It’s neck was broken, and a large, bloody slash fashioned it’s throat. Ray could definitely tell that one strong strike slaughtered the deer. It was quick, with little time in suffering.

”We’re here. And hey, look, the deer didn’t get up and leave.” It was a poor joke, but a person could tell he was attempting humor, although failing miserably. He let go of Daryll’s Shoulder and turned back to Ray with a snicker, as if saying, “Look what I got. Something cool.” When Korahn returned his gaze to his prey, a small white glint of light caught his eye. All three of them could see it. A small, blue white Butterfly. One similar, if not exactly, like the one earlier. Soon, many of those tiny insects crawled into view Korahn’s eyes shot open as far as his eye lids would allow. He trembled; looking like he could wet himself at any moment. He turned to Daryll and tried to say something, but nothing but a hasty wheeze came out. He cleared his throat abruptly, and almost painfully. ”Daryll. I’m your father!”

Before the child could respond, Korahn took the pup in his arms ran towards Ray with a look a pure fear on his face. As Korahn reached Ray, He extended his hand and shoved his palm right into Ray’s forehead. It wasn’t an attack, instead, Ray suddenly would see the forest in ways he never saw before. It was a vision. Ray felt a strong wind blast past his hair; sending his hair whipping about violently. In the vision, Ray saw the woods, and then a trail, and then a large tree with a large rope and paper Buddhist markers on them. Ray saw the latch that opened the tree’s roots to reveal a tunnel. Ray’s sight flew through the tunnel, and curved around several passages, and then out an opening which lead to the out side of the forest where the school grounds met the woods. All of this information was forced into Ray’s memory as if he had known this way ever since he was a child. It was Korahn’s memory, but it was donated to Ray.

”Ray! Take my son and use my secrets to get him out of here! And what ever you do, don’t let anyone stop you. Not even if it’s me. Now go!” Ray shoved Daryll into Ray, and pushed them both forward just a wet, whipping sound is heard. Korahn turned around and saw what was coming. He slammed both Ray and Daryll to the ground with a large, gigantic frame right as a small scythe collided into his left shoulder.”AHHHHHH!”

The scythe was connected by a long chain which led off to the side. A tall and slender body could be seen holding onto the other side of the weapon. It was a man dressed in all black. A ninja; everything covered in black fabric except his eyes and the upper part of his nose. His yellow eyes glared at the two young wolfs on the ground as Korahn Staggered backwards a bit. The elder lycan growled as he grabbed onto the blade inside his shoulder and held tightly. Soon Korahn’s already tall, muscular frame began to bulk up as black fur seem to erupt from his skin. His face cracked and morphed into the mug of a wolf. His height grew and so did his strength. He ripped the scythe out from his flesh as blood splattered everywhere. Korahn began to pull the young ninja closer to him. The ninja watched with shocked eyes as he tried to resist, but the wolf’s strength was too much. Then suddenly, to Daryll’s and Ray’s left, balls of rainbow colored lights formed together and forged another figure. He was dressed in green robes and fashion white hair. His robes made him seem holy in a way, except he was holding a long spear. The man spun his spear around a bit and sprinted towards Korahn. Another sickening wet slash sound echoed through the woods as the spear’s blade penetrated Korahn’s stomach and bursts out his back. Blood poured from his wound and quickly covered the grass. The older lycan gritted his teeth together in pain as he reached out and grabbed hold of the spear’s handle. He locked himself to the two attacks; clearly wanting to keep them away from Daryll and Ray.

”G… Go… Get out…of here…NOW!” He demanded with such ferocity that it sounded almost like a snarl or a bark. But, before the two young wolfs could even get on their way, a black cloaked woman stepped in their way. She had long moldy blue hair, and pale skin. She grinned at Ray as she held out her hands close to her chest. Soon her long sharp finger nails began to grow outward into thin blades. She snickered.

”Well. You must be Ray. And this little one must be the one our mistresses wanted. Hello little one. Can I call you Daryll. You’re going to be coming with me now…. Hmmmph… Tell me Ray. Where is your Nameless Sword? Give us the child, and you can leave. Aren’t you grateful for the gift our dear ladies have given you? Give Daryll to me. Why do you care what happens to him? He’s only part wolf. ” She stepped forward confidently as her long blades twiddles with each flick of her fingers.

(He hadn't meant for himself to be heard. He thought he only thought the words, but they must have spilled out without his consent. He didn't mean to, but it was already done, and Ray could already see that they had had an effect on the older wolf. Yes, he did know them, despite the denials. Korahn was a terrible liar, horrible, in fact. Only the truly gullible would fall for that laugh. Ray remained silent from that point on as they reached the kill. Korahn was still trying to act normal, but a new butterfly seemed to spoil all that, and Ray was certain now that not only were those women involved, but they were watching them. Those insects were their spies, and many more of them came... Korahn lost his composure. Whatever they had done to him, it must have been hard on him. He heard the ragged and painful voice utter it out. He admitted being parent to the younger part-wolf, to being Daryll's father. Korahn was in fear, Daryll in his hands and desperate to do...something. His hand shot into Ray's forehead and...there was a flash of memory.)

Ray: Korahn, what...are you doing?

”Ray! Take my son and use my secrets to get him out of here! And what ever you do, don’t let anyone stop you. Not even if it’s me. Now go!”

(Eyes wide with the shock of what the wolf was showing him, he realized that he knew everything. No, MORE than everything! In his desperate moments, with everything moving so quickly, Korahn was unaware of Ray's Scent Memory. It hit him in the same wave as the secrets. Memory... Just flashes, but memory nonetheless! No! Stop it! Please, stop this, Takako! Ray's mind reeled and returned, and he only reacted when Korahn shouted in pain, a scythe digging into his shoulder. Ray backed off with Daryll, keeping him from trying to go to Korahn if he tried. THe boy was the true target. This was a trap... A second attacker appeared, much like the first, and attacked with a spear. Ray had faith in the old wolf's abilities. He had to. A wolf like him had to be superior in ability, and Ray was no weakling himself!)

”G... Go... Get out...of here...NOW!”

(However, they could not get underway just yet. A THIRD oppressor stood in their way, in the exact direction Ray wanted to go. They could not have knowledge of this fact, because it was also the only viable direction to move. The woman was not human and armed with fine claws. Ray did not like the looks of this. This blue-haired woman was trying to convince him to leave, but he was not going to comply...)

”Well. You must be Ray. And this little one must be the one our mistresses wanted. Hello, little one. Can I call you Daryll? You’re going to be coming with me now... Hmmmph... Tell me Ray. Where is your Nameless Sword? Give us the child, and you can leave. Aren’t you grateful for the gift our dear ladies have given you? Give Daryll to me. Why do you care what happens to him? He’s only part wolf.”

Ray: Hah. Get out of my way, or are you not versed in the ways your mistresses' work? Equivalent exchange is the only way, and you have nothing to offer up. My sword was paid for, and I am not so grateful, since the 'dear ladies' tried to siphon my potent blood.

(His silver eyes flashed with the energy of the full moon, an aura coming off of his body as the humanoid wolf prepared to strike. He glared at her, cold as the hunting wolf may gaze upon prey.)

Ray: I keep the sword for dire need, but you are hardly worthy of such craftsmanship. When you return to the ladies without us, you can tell them it was unequal.

(Suddenly, he moved forwards at great speed, making sure not to stray from Daryll for long, swiping his left fist around hard at the women's mid-section, then kicking up hard like in kickball in case she ducked or jumped up high.)

Something was up. For some reason the laugh that Korahn let out was a little more unsettling than calming or comforting. There hadn’t been any part of that laugh that sounded funny, or as if Korahn wasn’t trying to hide something. However, this got the boy’s thoughts turning more.

He followed the werewolf and Ray to where the deer was. The boy shrugged at the sight of the carcass, not really knowing how the werewolf would cook the meat. Closing his eyes, Daryll tried to imagine what the meat would taste like. So far, he could only think of it tasting possibly like gamey beef that might need to have an acquired taste. Once again, he shrugged.

Lost in his own thoughts, the boy did not notice the wave of butterflies that made their way past him, even though he did feel the occasional brush against his face. The wheeze that came from Korahn brought Daryll out of his thoughts, just in time for him to hear what the werewolf had to say. ”Daryll. I’m your father!”

This made him freeze up. He wished that he could have said something, but things started to go faster than what he was used to. Suddenly, the boy was whisked up into his father’s arms, then placed into Ray’s grip before he was slammed to the ground. He heard the slice of the chained scythe slash into his father’s shoulder, wincing at the sound before he suddenly scrambled backwards then stood up. His gaze flickered about here and there in a worried, almost crazed look as he started to grip onto his shoulder bag strap a little tightly.

Then, the spear was thrust right through his father. “DAD!” the boy yelled as he tried to make his way towards the werewolf. There was no way that he would let anything happen to the one that just revealed himself as his father. However, the blue-haired woman that seemed to know both Daryll and Ray appeared in front of them. She was wanting the boy to come with him… and the boy was starting to blink softly.

“If you think I am going to go with you, I am NOT about to!” he spoke with a soft growl. For some reason, he thought that he could hear a little bit of a lower voice speaking with his own. His gaze flickered back to Korahn, whimpering softly.

The black gowned woman smirked as Ray dashed for him. She thrusts out her claws, but it was too late. Ray was much swifter and nimble then she could have ever expected. Her arrogance cost her, and dearly. A splatter of saliva is thrown from her mouth as her stomach it struck with Ray’s powerful fist. Her eyes go dull as her bottom two rips crack, but that wasn’t the end. Ray’s large heel is thrusted upwards and easily collides into her jaw. Another loud smack echoes as her head is flung backwards. Her body it knocked backwards and crashes into the bottom of a large tree. She gasps as she holds onto her stomach in pain as her long black claws retract.

”Uh… You… asshole…” She spitted out another mouthful of spit as she slowly stood up; in obvious pain. She took a step towards them and extended her palm. On her hand was a impressive display of Alchemy symbols. She gripped her fists tightly as she punches through the air. A bright white light flashed out and energy started to form in her hands. However, the power began to fade as the woman’s eye lids slowly drooped over her wicked orbs. She wobbled there a bit as the energy disappeared. She flopped over onto her side with her eyes half open, and not breathing. She was dead.

Meanwhile, Korahn growls down at the ninja as he pulls the slender figure towards him. The ninja tried to resist, but Korahn’s lycan strength was just to much for the boy. The elder Werewolf grabbed into the ninja’s Arm and pulled him close and bit down onto the ninja’s shoulder. The black dressed man screams as Korahn rips out a piece of his flesh and shoulder bone like a child eating a chicken drumstick. Korahn threw the ninja aside and spit out the torn flesh and quickly advanced onto the man in green robes. Korahn slashed downward onto the man’s face, but his claws did not stop there. His sharp razor talons cut through the robed man’s face and down his chest and stopped at his stomach. The green dressed boy falls backward without a sound; twitching, and dieing. Korahn pulled the spear out from his body with a loud howl, and threw it onto the ground. He breathed hard as he turned to Daryll and Ray.

”Are you two alri- Ah!” The older lycan was interrupted by the surge of pain. He grasped onto his stomach as more blood poured out. He lean forward, looking ready to fall in a similar matter as the black cloaked lady. He immediately stood himself up straight and took a deep breath before either Ray or Daryll could comfort him. He even placed a palm up as if telling them to stop. ”I’m alright. This is nothing. It’s a full moon, and I’ll heal quickly. Let’s just get you out of here Daryll. You will be safer once you are on school property.”

Korahn walked towards them as the flow of blood began to slow. He looked down at ray and then to Daryll. He forced another smile. Same ol’ Korahn, always trying to use that smile to reinsure others, although most of the time unsuccessful. He stared down at the woman’s body and growled.

”The two men who attacked us are shadows. If you know the Twin Women Ray, then you’ll know they aren’t human… and neither are these three.” Korahn kicked the woman’s body onto her back and pointed down at her stomach.”Look. You broke two of her ribs. I can see the indention in her lower chest. Maybe she’s a bad example… Hmm.. Look over to the ninja. The sisters call him Koiji. I bit off a large chuck of his shoulder, but look closely. Notice something? No blood. Just tan colored meat. Even a carcass drained of blood still has red colored meat. Not these three. There insides are the same as their outsides, as if their flesh were made of clay, or some artificial material. The robed boy is named Pride. Look. I cut open his chest and stomach. If he were human you would have seen organs spewing out from his torn body, but no. They don’t have organs. The one you killed, Ray, is named Akorum. Let’s go… they won’t stay dead for very long. I only know of four shadows. At the time when I found out about them, the twins only had four. I’m not sure how many they have now. All I know is that they will come after you Daryll. They want you for… Well.. Let’s just get out of here.”

Korahn weakly moved towards his son and placed a claw onto Daryll’s shoulder gently. He looked at Ray and nodded as if saying “Thanks.” The then pointed towards the direction of his secret trial which led to his secret tunnels; tunnels Ray now knew about.

”Uh... You... asshole...”

(Unbelievable! She was getting up, even though he'd clearly broken ribs and delivered a kick to the jaw so powerful that she flew into a tree with extreme force. And yet...even as she stood and gave off some sort of energy, her concentration wavered and she fell, the damage finally taking effect. It must have hurt alot, and now...death. Ray only regarded her for a second. She had to be taken down, of course. There was alchemy in her veins. She was like them, those women. Ray now watched as Korahn finished off his attackers and almost collapsed. That guy was surely impressive. Her managed to stay on his feet even though they hurt him badly. Once done, Ray saw no reason to take Daryll away from his father.)

”I’m alright. This is nothing. It’s a full moon, and I’ll heal quickly. Let’s just get you out of here Daryll. You will be safer once you are on school property.”

Ray: Yeah, that moon is surely something... Let's go.

(But before they left, Korahn explained alot of the things Ray was sure he'd been meaning to explain. And it was true. Ray knew that they were not human. The were homunculi, false human forms, like bad imitations. And gory though it was, Korahn had a good grasp of the concept too. However, there was one thing that bothered him now.)

Ray: What do you mean they won't stay dead for long? Even unnatural life has its limits. Everything dies, Korahn. Even the sisters...

(However, the one thing he didn't know that Korahn did was that the sisters wanted Daryll for something that neither Ray nor Korahn could supply. It wasn't the potent blood. So...what was it?)

Upon hearing the sounds of a fight in her forest, Rena is brought quickly out of her state of contented meditation and back into the shadowy depths of the woods. Acute ears pivot on her head, flattening and tilting towards the woods behind her, scarcely even needing to strain in order to hear what was going on. There is a slight hesitation before she recognizes a voice coming from the struggle. She paid little heed to normal cries in the forest at night. Most were not her concern... a mere continuation of the food chain... but this? This was definitely 'on par' with what she would consider to be a problem that concerned her. Without even giving herself time to shift into her normal Kierrn form, she leaps from the stump she had been sitting on and bolts into the darkness, jet black fur giving off a dull shimmer before blending perfectly with the muted black to gray shades of the undergrowth.

Only an extremely trained eye, one accustomed to the night, would pick her form as it darted from shadow to shadow through the woods. A flit in the darkness, a blurr in someone's vision. These woods were her home, and so in no time, she found exactly what she was looking for. Staying entirely downwind, Rena stalks the party, watching the ass end of the fight, somewhat disappointed, and then following the group of three as they departed the little 'reunion' for better cover and hidden paths. Padding silently through the darkness, she moved without so much as stirring a fallen leaf or broken twig. The stealth and grace of her kind leant her the ability to move unheard, unseen, and for the moment, the wind was in her favor. So she took advantage and scouted the party from a nice safe distance.

Two werewolves... one Erastor, the other a stranger. Inhaling the scent on the faint breeze, she lets out a low 'whuff' of surprise. A werechild. A halfling? Strange times....

Following the group, she shifted back to the flank, eyeing the bodies that they were leaving behind. She didn't trust a body unless it was in five million pieces... a bit of well learned paranoia she had picked up on her travels.

Deciding to clue Erastor in, she crosses their path behind them, putting on a small burst of speed and flitting through the shadows out of sight on the other side, allowing herself to be caught upwind, her scent and signs of close proximity trailing down to meet the other two werewolves who would doubtlessly pick up on it. Good to let your friends know where you are... and keep your enemies in the dark. If they needed her, this time, she would be available to lend a paw... a few claws.... and a set of teeth.

"But..." the boy spoke a little bit as he gazed up at Ray, "what I'm getting from this is that it's the alchemy that's holding them together... Magic in any form works strangely, even in the stories we have." It was hard for the boy to talk and walk at a slightly fast pace with both his father and Ray. "It can keep itself together until kingdom come before it either gets broken, even if the user dies, sometimes."

However, as much as it was bugging him about the homunculi hunting him, it was bothering him on why they were. For the time being, he shook it off. "Dad... Is it possible for me to talk to you in a little bit of a safer place on the school grounds?" Daryll asked as he kept his gaze on the back of his father's head.

His steps were speeding up a little then slowing down, then speeding up and slowing down again and again. Usually, it would be a little easier for him to keep up with anyone during the full moon, but right now, he was more scared than anything. The boy kept on watching his steps as he followed behind the two, occasionally shifting his shoulderbag from one shoulder to the other.

Being human, Daryll was also starting to get just a little bit tired of having to walk. "How much farther is it to the passageway?" he asked as he tried to hurry up a little more. However, he ended up stumbling, landing upon his hands and knees rather heavily. Wincing, he clenched his teeth as if a greater pain was going through him. Shakily, he raised his left hand. Right through the center of his palm was an old, rusted metal nail that had been left in the forest for who knows what reason.

Instead of speaking the native tongue, he was speaking rather rapidly in another language... English, maybe? Anyways, the boy was speaking in a bit of a hurt, slightly pained tone. If one could understand English, he was saying something to the effect of, "Oh, shit... Why the hell does this have to happen to me now? Ah..!"

OOC: Well.... I haven't heard a response from Daryll.... so I'm going to listen to Mass and go ahead and post this. If either of you guys has a huge objection, I can always delete it. Or tell you to stuff it and be on my merry way. O.o; All depending on how I'm feeling at the moment. ^___^ Cheers!

IC:

Ears perking at the sound of the kid getting hurt, she slides through the forest towards the party. Although she wouldn't admit it, she had a handful of maternal instincts that came with being more wolf than human, and something about the injured wereling made her skin itch. Even as she made her way to the group in a matter of a few bounds, she thought angrily to herself, ~Stupid, stupid, stupid!~ Giving up a perfectly good advantage for instincts....

Seemingly materializing from the woods next to Daryll, the large black shewolf crouch-walks up to him, tail swaying from side to side in a friendly, "See, I'm a nice doggy..." sort of way. Being roughly the size of a small pony in wolf form, the slender Kierrn takes a few hesitant steps towards the injured halfling, overemphasizing the need for him to not be scared of her. This, of course, most likely looking absurd or even comical to the other two, who knew wolf behavior better than this. This was quite obviously a case of wolf acting in a manner in which the human will best react to. A ridiculous show of submissive looking movements- the exact opposite of how it ought to have been translated by wolf standards. She was in no way submissive to the halfling... she just wanted to look friendly enough not to cause a panic attack.

As she moves closer, her inky black fur glistens in the dim lighting, fur appearing almost liquid as it rolls over her long, lean muscles. The only break in the wash of black being some bright crimson scarring near her left eye, one vertical slash through the eye itself that extends to mid-cheek, and two smaller, crooked horizontal ones below the eye, dissecting the vertical scar in two places exactly parallel to each other. A pair of intelligent, pale ice blue eyes search the wereling's face, studying his expression. Dropping to the ground next to the boy, Rena looks up at Erastor with an obvious and wolfish expression of blatant exasperation and good humor. She'd just volunteered herself for something she would normally turn her nose up at doing. Amazing how a little bit of instinct can curb someone's behavior.

They needed to move at a decent clip to get away from their pursuers, so in effect, the boy needed a ride. Who more readily available than her? Since she was already in a comfortable form for giving a "wolf-back-ride".

The fact that the boy and the older werewolf were father and son was not a huge secret to someone who lived by their nose had left her thinking that it was all common knowledge. Not realizing that this was a new development, she naturally forfeited the right of "nail-puller" to the father. Even though in wolf form, she had an apposable thumb, the fifth digit of her paw that served as a trait and clear hint to her breed, and could pull the nail if she wanted to, she awaited the father werewolf to aid his son with the wound.

She did in the meantime, however, exchange a few meaningful glances with Erastor and made a motion with her muzzle towards the boy and then back over her shoulder. She was offering the ride formally. If they were lucky and got a move on, they wouldn't need the muscle to be available, but in a pinch, the two males could handle the offenders, and she would be in the perfect shape for speed, ensuring the kid's escape. As usual, Rena had grasped the urgency of what was going on, and thus handed everything over to what was practical and what would get the job done. If all else failed, she could shift and help fight as well.

Other than that however, she simply, patiently, waited next to the wereling, her back, while laying down, coming up nearly to his hip, the fur of her side brushing lightly against his leg. Looking up at the father, she waited for eye contact, dipping her muzzle in greeting, but with something more. She now shared their plight and would help in any way possible. Her steady gaze and the stillness in which she waited served as reinforcement to her sincerity. She hoped he would accept her offer of assistance. She really did want to do all she could to help them.

(As Korahn led them, Ray felt that there was something that he and the rest of them had missed, as if forgotten in the chaos and confusion back there with the homunculi. Yes, he was certain of it. However, now was not the time to worry about that. They had to be on and out of here for now. The Sisters were on the move again, and not quite so friendly anymore. Ray followed carefully towards Korahn's secret spot, which he knew now, because of some transfer. He could not begin to guess at the process that did it, though. He now lisstened to Daryll's take on the homunculi. Then, after a moment or two, something hit him, and he stopped. Not literally a hit, but more of a sign, or a message. Ray caught a scent in the slight wind.)

Ray: Rena...

(Recognition and a smile came upon his face. He knew the scent well, and knew that if she was nearby and out of sight, that she was ready, willing, and able to help. It was good to know that your friends are watching you. More than once, Ray had wanted to call out to his pack, but didn't want to give away his position with Korahn and Daryll. He resumed his walk, catching up with the two, keeping a careful eye out for both friend and foe.)

"How much farther is it to the passageway?"

(Ray didn't respond, even though he knew. It was best that he left father and son alone, since they had basically 'met' for the first time now, and under the damnedest of circumstances. Like he'd said before... It was better that Daryll knew before the true suffering began. Ray stopped as Daryll tripped and got his hand through a nail. Damn, that had to hurt... Just then, he heard movement and tensed...but found no reason to attack as a familiar form approached them, apparently concerned for Daryll. She had indeed been watching... Her movements were kind of odd, though. Rena was taking extra care not to frighten the wits out of the child before them, who was still best-suited to humanity and not werewolfism. Rena was clearly not enjoying this, but necessity seemed to demand it. Ray understood the glances from Rena, his smile the best answer as he took to his lupine form. It was the brown-pelted one. Although Rena had seen the gray-coated one, this was the form that actually fought her when she'd been unfortunately starving and out of control. Speaking of which, Ray noticed that there were scars near the left eye of his friend. When did these occur? He didn't recall seeing them before, when they met. A degree of concern past across Ray's now wolfish face. Rena would not miss it.)

(It's ok, I don't mind. I can see she's a great role player, and I am happy she is with us.)

”What do you mean they won't stay dead for long? Even unnatural life has its limits. Everything dies, Korahn. Even the sisters...

Ray spoke with concern and wisdom. He knew about the twins. Even more so then Korahn had imagined. The elder wolf looked back at the two; still in his black furred lycan form. The blood had stopped completely not, and his red flesh was beginning to form skin around the ripped opening. It wouldn’t be fully healed until tomorrow, at best. Korahn watched carefully as they traveled the path, looking out from anything suspicious. As they journeyed further, Korahn replied to Ray’s earlier statement.

”Magic is an odd thing. Especially when alchemy is involved. Alchemy is a combination of Magic, Science, and the Supernatural, and I’m not an expert so I can’t give you a logical answer. I can only give you assumptions based on my experiences. I-“ It always seemed like Korahn was getting interrupted by something or someone. But this time, he didn’t mind so much since his son was the one doing the interrupting, but with important concepts.

“But… what I'm getting from this is that it's the alchemy that's holding them together... Magic in any form works strangely, even in the stories we have. It can keep itself together until kingdom come before it either gets broken, even if the user dies, sometimes."

”The Homunculus. That is what they are called. The Twins, and their shadows are all Homunculus. I’ve heard that Homunculi are created when an Alchemist fails a human transmutation. I’m not one to study such forms of science, so that’s pretty much all I can tell you.” Korahn stopped and nodded in agreement when Daryll asked if they could talk once they get to the school grounds. He turned but then immediately turned back to Daryll as he heard Daryll fall down behind him and speak another language that Korahn didn’t understand. His wolf ears flicked about on top of his large head in slight confusion; wondering what language it was. But already, he paused. A scent. At the same time as Ray, he picked up Rena’s scent too. Of course, he did not know her yet. He saw her then. A beautiful black she wolf. Korahn was neither startled nor afraid for the safety of his cub. He could tell the moment he saw her that she would not harm any of them. She acted sweet towards Daryll, and offered a ride. Korahn nodded, and complied with her ideas; trusting Rena.

By ray’s reaction, Ray also trusted this new member of their little mission. Four wolves. They had formed a mini pack. He stepped close to Daryll and Rena as he looked at Daryll’s hand and the blood that was pouring out of it. He grunted in frustration as he gripped Daryll’s shirt and ripped the bottom of it. A long strip of cloth came off easily; leaving Daryll’s lower stomach exposed. Korahn wrapped the cloth around Daryll’s hand and tied it tightly.

”This will have to do for now. Once you get back to A.H.S. you can go directly to the nurse’s office. If I remember correctly, the nurse’s office is open all day and all night due to the nature of a Meta-human school.” As he talked he looked directly into Rena’s eyes a nodded in gratitude. He even mouthed the words “Thank you” to her. Then he ruffled up Daryll’s hair lovingly, and playfully before turning around and looked at Ray with a determined, firm gaze. They would run now. Speed was what they need to beat time. The faster they went, the quicker Daryll would be put in a safe place. And so, Korahn led the way, rushing past Ray, with a hushed growl, as if saying stealth was needed. ”Let’s go.”

Meanwhile, back at the forest clearing, the white butterflies begin to take to the air and fly into the bright moon. Circe’s dainty pink shoed feet tiptoes across the grass. The rest of her body appears as a snicker echoes from her throat. Circe had long orange hair, and perfect crystal blue eyes. She was beautiful. So perfect in every way that she was like a doll. And like a doll, she was fake. Fake too, was her sister, Calypso, who was now walking up behind her. She grinned down at their dead shadows as Circe closes her eyes.

”Sera… Chishio…”

Their names echoed through the forest as a cold wind blew over the four wolves that were speeding through the forest. Korahn halted instantly, as they got close to the secret tunnel that would lead to the school. He held out his arm to the side to stop Rena and Ray from moving any farther. Korahn sniffed the air, before his eyes widen just as a large tree cracks and tumbles down. Its massive frame collides into the ground which made all four wolves tremble from the moving earth. A large suit of samurai armor is seen emerging from the dark forest. It moved slowly, but each step made the earth quake. Korahn stepped back and placed his arm out again as to protect the three younger ones.

”Stay back you three. This one doesn’t smell like a shadow. I can only smell metal, blood, and fabric. Wait… Grrrrrr. Sera…” The old wolf glared at the armor just as a small girl jumps out from behind the armor’s shoulder and sits down on it. She giggles happily and waves at the four before clapping her hands and waving them into the air. Suddenly, a swarm of those white glowing butterflies filling the sky. Ray and Korahn would now know they had an audience. The sisters were now watching.

”Oooo! Squeeeeeee! Whysies you leaveies us Mr, Korahn? Don’ties you likingies us any moresies? Squeeeeee! Eh heh!” The little girl said hyperly as she giggled. The massive suit of armor stood still as Sera bounced up and down energetically. The old lycan growled again and turned to Rena.

”Do you think you can get past these two while Ray and I distract them? Head west slightly once you pass them, and you’ll see a large tree with a large rope wrapped around it. At its roots, you’ll see an old latch which opens a rusty door that leads into the tunnel. Wait for us inside the tunnel… Ray, don’t under estimate Sera. She may look cute and innocent, but she can do some heavy damage if you’re not careful. Daryll… If you have to, you are going to fight too. In case you don’t get passed them, or in case Ray and I die, you are going to have to live on no matter what. Do you understand me? Do-You-Understand!!!”

As she catches eye contact with the werewolf, she nods curtly. A wolfish smile creeps across her powerful muzzle at his mouthed words. The glimmer behind those cold, sapphire eyes told stories... ages of history unfathomable by the new breed of werewolf. A brief glimpse into the long, lonely corridors of the past. She was young for a Kierrn, yes.... but how old was she in human years? Now that was the question... Her appearance and her youthful, angry flare told lies of late adolescence. She encouraged these beliefs, but occasionally she would lay hints towards another truth...

In her peripheral vision, she caught Erastor changing into wolfen form... brown. Odd... she remembered him being a different color..... Putting the thought aside for later, she returned her attention to her little 'staring contest'.

Breaking eye contact only after he had, she ducks her head unceremoniously between the kid's legs and lifts him onto her back, adjusting the way that she stood so that he slid down her shoulders and onto her back, just behind the shoulder blades and into a comfortable riding position. They didn't have time for uncomfortable gestures, only pure practicality. Hoping the kid could grab enough of her neck fur to hold on with one hand, she started after the others, being careful to keep her stride even so the ride wouldn't be rough, but fast enough that she easily kept up with the other two. She would have sprinted ahead, but for the sake of keeping the kid on her back and balanced, she stayed behind the other two and let them lead. Even though she was holding back, with as fast as the wolfen could run, they were still making excellent time. Her and the boy were mere blurs in the shadows as the group continued on, making almost no noise as Rena picked her way through the undergrowth, keeping in mind the size of her passenger and the path she would need to take through the woods to accommodate the larger shape.

It was not long, however, before something started to feel strange again. There was a foreign presence near that sent a shiver crawling beneath her skin. Something was not right. Sure enough, their guide stopped short and put up a hand. At the same instant, a scent hit her nose like a brick wall. Damned wind wasn't even on their side at the moment, and they had almost run into whatever it was.

As the tree cracked and fell, a rumbling growl rises from deep within the femme's chest, reverberating through her throat and out from between bared fangs. As the tremor of the strange thing reached her paws and sent a shock up her legs, her ears slicked back, hackles rising into a rugged spiky ruff at the nape of her neck and in a ridge down her back. The tremble of the aftershock was echoed and magnified by her own snarling reply. When the suit of samurai armor appeared through the trees, Rena tensed, lowering herself slightly closer to the ground, long curved claws digging into the ground for a better hold. She was ready to either fight or run, whatever the circumstance required of her. She was not, however, under the impression that this strange suit was one of the 'good guys', and so she readied herself for one or the other.

Indeed, her hunches were proven correct as a little girl appeared next to the suit, followed by swarm of those strange butterflies. Damn. She knew what she would be doing now, whether she was given instruction or not. Feeling extremely reproachful about having to leave the fight, Rena was already in mid-motion by the time she received the instructions from the kid's father. Personally, she would have rather taken her own methods of travel and took to the sky rather than heading for the tunnel. She could make a b-line for the high school without skipping a beat. But it seemed she was going to be taking the opposite path... into the ground. Claustrophobic, but if he trusted his son to the tunnel, so she would have to trust herself to the damned passage.

Struck with a sudden inspiration as to how to keep the momentarily handicapped kid on her back, she hunches her shoulders a little, mid-stride. The muscles behind her shoulders, and just in front of the kid's knees cramped suddenly with a gut-wrenching pain. Gritting her teeth, Rena suppressed a howl of agony as the fur bulged, throwing the kid forward a bit so that he had to lay down on her back to hold on. Her skin, unable to withstand any more pressure, split, a wash of gore spraying out from her back as two massive black wings exploded out from behind her shoulder blades. Blood soaked the kid's clothes, Rena's back, and the underbrush behind them, but the shewolf didn't bother using her newly formed appendages for flight. Instead, after very sharply snapping them out to relinquish herself from the clinging pieces of her own flesh, she tucked them back tightly to her sides.

The glistening feathered frame swept back a short distance to an elbow-like joint before the much longer 'forearm' extension of the wing fabricated the larger part of the framework, which took the appendage forward to the 'hand' joint, equipped with a few hooked talons, the last branch off of which being the final back-sweeping pinion feathers. This created a 'trifold' wing frame much like a bat's, but instead of skin flaps, there were, instead, an array of dangerous, knife-like, hollow metal feathers; pitch black, with a sheen to matched her fur. An effect that looked like Rena was soaked in fresh ink. (although at the moment, she was rightfully soaked in blood and more solid things)

The plan with her wings worked beautifully. the short backward dip in the wings before the main frame hooked the kid under the arms so that as long as he kept his arms to his side and his legs wrapped around her waist, he could lay down on her back and they would be relatively aerodynamic and he would be less likely to fall off.

Putting on a burst of speed, Rena shot off into the shadows of the forest, her movements unnervingly fast, even for metahuman and werewolf standards. Her long, slender, but well muscled limbs stretched out and folded back rhythmically as she set a grueling pace for herself. It was not a problem maneuvering around the bulky samurai suit and the evil child. In fact, she gave them a generously wide birth and still had time to spare before they would be able to react. If they were powerful and ancient beings, then she was but amongst peers. And so she would spare them no courtesy. She was no longer afraid of holding back for the kid's sake, either. He would make it if he keeps his arms tucked to his sides, whether he held onto his art baggage or not

OOC: I won't be able to post until Sunday night, most likely. So take your time fighting lil' miss evil and her samurai suit. It'll give Daryll time to respond and hell, write as much as he likes before he and Rena reach the tunnel.

The boy’s natural reaction to having a new wolf approach him was slightly timid, but he did calm down. He was gazing around them a little bit, wincing in pain as he felt more blood slowly draining from his hand. The nail had went clean through his hand, ‘But… It should be alright, shouldn’t it? I mean, my Dad is helping me,’ the boy thought as his father removed the nail and wrapped a torn part of his shirt around his hand. For a reason unknown to himself, the boy kept the nail, placing it within his art bag after it had been cleared of the blood that was on it.

With the cloth securely tightened about his hand, Daryll suddenly felt himself being lifted up onto Rena’s back from her scooting down underneath him and crawling through his legs. After he had been positioned onto her back, the boy naturally was unsteady for the first few moments. However, with his shoulder bag positioned right on his chest with the bottom resting right on the she-wolf’s back, he slowly got the hang of just sitting there. “Thanks,” he softly spoke into Rena’s ear as he leaned down a little bit, soon gazing up to his father.

”This will have to do for now. Once you get back to A.H.S. you can go directly to the nurse’s office. If I remember correctly, the nurse’s office is open all day and all night due to the nature of a Meta-human school.”

At this, the boy nodded softly as he tightened his grip a little bit about the she-wolf. Now, he seemed to have a sense of security with the three, and a slight smile formed upon his face. However, the feeling of security was starting to feel pressed upon as the ground started to shake. It was slow and almost rhythmatic, as if something large was making its way towards them. Then, the large tree cracked and fell down. This made him slightly jump upon Rena’s back, but he calmed down.

He bent over forwards, naturally bringing himself into a protected position as he gazed over to his father. However, the boy didn’t say anything, as the she-wolf was starting to act a little strangely. Her back seemed to start to swell, and he hardly had any time to shift before the two wings burst out of her back in a gory explosion of blood, flesh and fur. Of course, the boy got splattered with the mini explosion. He held in his feeling of sickness, soon letting out a slight sigh as he felt himself pressing a little closer to Rena’s fur.

Naturally, his arms and legs wrapped a little tighter ‘bout her as she started to run. His art supplies were nearly being crushed as he kept close to Rena’s body. “Please let us come out of this safely,” he spoke in a very soft tone as he closed his eyes a little worridly.

(The increase in their numbers brought more confidence into Ray. With Rena here and giving Daryll a ride on her back, they would be able to travel much more smoothly, which was one reason why he took to his lupine form. Another was, of course, that he was more physically capable whilst in the shape of a wolf. Now that they were more secure, Korahn helped Daryll with his wound, using a strip of the boy's shirt to hold the wound.)

"This will have to do for now. Once you get back to A.H.S. you can go directly to the nurse’s office. If I remember correctly, the nurse’s office is open all day and all night due to the nature of a Meta-human school."

Ray: It is still the case. Don't worry.

(With that taken care of, they were on the move at a much greater speed than before, taking off like the wind itself. Korahn led the way, with Rena and Ray after him. He didn't mind that the older wolf led. He was the older ruler of this forest and Ray had respect in that. Then, suddenly...all three of them stopped at once. They'd almost picked it up too late as something heavy and hulking came their way, the scent being way off for normal life. Ray's claws flexed and tore into ground and he growled. Something menacing was challenging them Then, from on top of the suit of armor came...a child?)

"Oooo! Squeeeeeee! Whysies you leaveies us Mr, Korahn? Don’ties you likingies us any moresies? Squeeeeee! Eh heh!"

(Ray sweatdropped, but that didn't keep his temper down. Especially not when Korahn warned him not to under-estamate this "Sera" girl. How Korahn knew well these so-called shadows of the Sisters, he could only guess at. Korahn's speech was meant for them to all be spurred for action, but acting in caution. He even said he and Ray might die. Ray was willing to take on this bizarre duo, and he would fight his very all for the safety of the others. However, he was going to emerge victorious. He gave Rena a glare before she left, a glare that said "I won't die..." before focusing more on the attackers before him. This wasn't going to be easy. The armor was a hulking golem of some sort. The girl...he had no idea what she was capable of.)

Ray: You take the girl. I know how to deal with the big and heavy.

(If he knew so well the abilities of the wiz-kid, then he could go and handle that one. Ray was in preference to dealing with the big armor that was bearing down on them all. He quickly ran around the samurai - out of reach and the wrong way for Sera to attack him - and jumped up at a tree. He kicked off of that, got higher and kicked off another, and was now launching himself toward the small of the samurai's back with great force. He would tilt it forward on impact, with his front paws, then flip and kick his back-legs off the back of the giant's left knee to further the imbalance.)

(Sorry for the delay. I am having home issues.)

Korahn watched as Rena and Daryll speeded off easily into the woods. It was so easy to pass Sera and the giant armor. Too easy. Korahn looked up at the moon and then back at Sera, and then to Ray. Sera wasn’t the type to let people just run off in the middle of a fight. There was something up. She was confident enough to let Daryll get away as if she allowed him to pass by her and the massive suit. The suit was still unknown to Korahn. Apparently the suit was not born yet when Korahn had last met them. Ray shouted out. The old lycan then growled and nodded to Ray’s strategies. As Ray dashed off towards the two, Korahn did the same. Ray curved around the two shadows and did an impressive display of agility and launched towards the armor’s back.

Korahn came to a sliding halt as the massive suit of metal jerked forward, and then it’s knee bent. Quickly the elder wolf jumped backwards into the sky as the large hulk was knocked on all fours. Meanwhile, Sera had leaped off the armor just in time to see the whole incident.

”Awww. Whysies you being so meanies? Thaties wasn’t very nicesies of yousies. Mr. Ray-Ray. You hurtingsies little brother, Chishio.” The little girl winked at the teen werewolf and aimed one finger at him as if her hands were a gun. Suddenly, out of no where, many white silk scarves appears fluttering about in elegant ripples. They seem to swim about like alien fish in the deep ocean. They quickly flew into Sera’s hand to form a bow and an arrow; all made out of silk scarves. ”Big sissy saidies you can leaveies. So whysies you stayingies? You don’t haveies to diesies todaysies! Squeee!”

Just then, Korahn went into a sprint and extended his arms at the child; preparing to tackles, but sera was quicker. She immediately turned to him and shot the silk arrow at the old lycan. A long ribbon of fabric hit Korahn like another spear. His already stabbed stomach burst open once more as the silk became incredibly solid. The silk all around formed a long spear which Sera now held with both hands. The little girl giggled as Korahn spit up more blood and held desperately to the pole in his stomach as if it were the only thing holding him up. Sera, in one swift motion, swung the adult wolf to the side; besides Ray. The old wolf coughed up a helfty amount of blood and just laid still; breathing with difficulty.

Sera laughed to herself in an adorable fashion as three images faded into view behind her. One figure in a green robe formed with a dazing display of mini rainbow light comets. A ninja burst into the scene in a gust of twirling wind and dry leaves. A female dressed in black merely faded into view as her eyes glowed a deep violet.

”Hello again Ray. You didn’t think you could just kill me and we’d kiss and make up, did you?” Akorum said as her moldy blue hair wisped around in the wind. She sneered at both the lupins as Pride waved at Sera happily; Sera returning his wave with a large hug. Koiji, the ninja on the other hand grunted and crossed his arms, but then, Koiji looked into the sky as his eyes widen as if he had just felt something. He looked afraid. He then uncrossed his arms and vanished in another swirl of leaves. Sera, the little girl looked in his direction curiously and then at Ray with a glare. Moments later, Koiji returned holding none other then Ray’s nameless blade. Koiji’s eyes showed pure hatred towards the wolf as he stepped forward and stabbed the Earth just a few feet from Ray.

”Our mistresses wish for you to use your gift.” The ninja said with contempt. All five shadows seemed to now be at an unease as they glared at Ray as if he had just used a very bad racial slur against them. Koiji stepped back and removed his scythe and chain. Pride’s spear formed in his hands while Akorum’s razor sharp claws grew almost two feet long. Sera clasped her hands together threateningly as the giant Armor rebalanced and stood up.

”Ah… looks… like you have no choice, but to use that sword. Seems this is more then just a fight for you us. It’s a test. Or a game. Either way I can’t help feel like a pawn when it comes to these two women.” Korahn sat up as his fur retracted back into his flesh as his frame twisted and contorted back into the shape of a human. From his neck, he pulled off a necklace made of small bones. He stood with great trouble and pain, but managed to hand the young lycan the jewelry. ” Here. Take this. I can’t fight at the moment. This will help you fight them. This necklace is called “Down to the Level.” It was my gift from those sisters. Once you put it on, Homunculus cannot refuse your challenge. They must enter a one on one battle with you, which conveniently enough, causes the other homunculus to wait; unable to go anywhere. The catch is… it only works if you are in your human form. Don’t ask me why the sisters would give me such an item. Personally, I think those witches are getting cocky. I’m trusting you Ray, and… thank you for protecting my son.”

Ray: We're not dying. Deal with it.

(Of course, that statement might have been awfully presumptuous. Ray had no intention of dying, but the little girl homunculus might have had a different say in the matter as she did a real number on Korahn, leaving him in a bad state nearby. Ray was infuriated by this act, his eyes gleaming with anger. However, that wasn't going to be the end of it. Oh no. They had to push him farther past the limits of tolerance, didn't they? The other homunculi were back now, including the woman that he had 'killed'.)

"Hello again, Ray. You didn’t think you could just kill me and we’d kiss and make up, did you?"

Ray: No, I thought I'd just make your death a little more permanent. In case you didn't notice, I don't like your style.

(Just then, one of the ninjas came up and placed something in front of Ray, sticking out of the ground. No, that was impossible. That could NOT be his sword there, not four feet away, gleaming in the moonlight. Of course, Ray knew his Nameless sword intimately, like a brother almost. But still, with the fact that it was here instead of at his home, locked away in Paradise where no creature that was not wolf could get at it - that made his anger final and terminal for all parties concerned. His anger was like that of the pursuit of the kitsune known as Min. Nothing in this world would stop him from killing these shadows in a more permanent fashion. He, Ray Erastor Devorak, would be their executioner.)

"Our mistresses wish for you to use your gift."

Ray: And how...did you...get in...MY LAIR!?!?!

(The last two words were shouted so loudly that the forest echoes with his growling voice. The leader of the pack had spoken. These homunculi had desecrated his Paradise with their filthy nature. All of their kind would pay. That sword was his and they had dared to touch it... That realm was locked from their kind and they'd dared to penetrate it... If he heard that one wolf was injured or killed in his home, ultimate suffering would befall the lot of them. The aura of silver energy of the moon would tell of that.)

"Ah...looks...like you have no choice, but to use that sword. Seems this is more then just a fight for you us. It’s a test. Or a game. Either way I can’t help feel like a pawn when it comes to these two women."

Ray: I have more than enough to take them on. My claws and my rage will tear them apart!

(Korahn was not listening, though. He had his own ideas.)

"Here. Take this. I can’t fight at the moment. This will help you fight them. This necklace is called 'Down to the Level.' It was my gift from those sisters. Once you put it on, Homunculi cannot refuse your challenge. They must enter a one-on-one battle with you, which conveniently enough, causes the other homunculus to wait; unable to go anywhere. The catch is...it only works if you are in your human form. Don’t ask me why the sisters would give me such an item. Personally, I think those witches are getting cocky. I’m trusting you, Ray, and...thank you for protecting my son."

(Ray's glare at Korahn was harsh when he said all that, but he let up after a moment, saying "Fine." in a sort of resigned way that was not any sort of reduction of temper. Ray was still in a bad mood; the worst. He didn't want to have any more to do with these bizarre items. If this thing backfired, there was going to be hell to pay, and he would be the one collecting. Ray returned to his human form and took the necklace, putting it on. He didn't feel any different, but the homunculi certainly were different now.)

Ray: I'll be returning this, so don't any of you alchemaic assholes think there's some kinda' unfair trade in the works. And if any of you so much as blinks the wrong way, I won't stop at just killing you.

(Ray walked over to the sword, pulling it out and flipping it around in his hand a bit, getting oriented. The sword was a piece of his arm, in truth. It was no different than swinging his claws, in a way. These creatures were not even worthy of the excellent blade in his hands, but anger removed all that for now. They had now earned the right to be wailed upon in such a way that he didn't care who was worthy of what. He then pointed towards Chishio, the giant.)

Ray: You.

(His feet dug into ground...and then he was off! Not running, but jumping. Higher than the armored giant's head, somersaulting for momentum, and the Nameless sword swung down in an act of applied force to split his damn head open!)

OOC: I write very well when my characters are pissed off.

(Sorry for the late reply, I've had life issues. Also, I will be posting with Lord Mass freely since Daryll and Rena are in a different area of the forest and not involved with the currant battle. Daryll and Rena will be dealing with a different event. For those reading, and are confused, there aree two main events going on.)

The air turned colder as Ray gripped onto the nameless sword. It was true, the weapon was magnificent, no doubt about that. But was this nameless sword really Ray’s? No. There was no possible way to enter paradise since the homunculus were not of lycan blood. Even if the sisters were able to create a lycan look-a-like with all the powers of a lycan, he would still not be a true werewolf.

He would be a fake, a counterfeit; just like all these beings were. Fake humans, fake souls, fake everything. The sword pulsated and matched Ray’s heart beating in mere seconds. Korahn watched as he sat there in pain; seeing Ray put on the necklace and transforming into his human form. To Korahn, this was the best plan since it caused the other Homunculus to be unable to attack Ray while he was fighting.

Ray chose his opponent. Chishio, the large samurai armor. Just as Ray took off into the air, a bright light flashed out from Chishio and the necklace the young wolf was wearing. The forest around them blurred for a moment and then came back into view. The lights ceased, and the armor looked up at the in coming wolf. What a small thing compared to Chishio. Ray was one forth if Chishio’s size, and much lighter since he was made mostly of metal and bones.

Chishio swung his massive arm to Ray’s side as Ray came at him in midair. His strike was slow compared to most, but its great size made up for that. Would his giant arm hit? Akorum didn’t wait to find out. She turned from the fight and stepped off, but before she could move, the ground erupted in many black vines that wrapped around her feet, legs, and wait.

”Arg! Damn Necklace!” She said angrily and let a loud swearword exit her lips. She used all her strength to kick away from the vines, but then a suddenly shock erupted from the vines and sent Akorum into a fit of wails and cries of agony. Her smoking body fell to the floor as she breathed heavily as the shocked subsided. The other homunculus saw what had happened and didn’t dare attempt to run away or move for that matter.

Pride merely smirked and returned his focus to the fight. Koiji and the little girl watched as Akorum stood up and redignified herself; brushing off her shoulders and running her hands through her hair as if nothing out of the ordinary had happen. She turned to the fight as the vines released her. She walked and stood beside Pride; they were all waiting their turn. Meanwhile, Korahn grinned at Akorum and tapped his own nose twice; silently gesturing a “Haha. You idiot.”

On the other side of the woods, Daryll and Rena speeded through the forest like the wind, but they were being observed the whole way. The thousands of enchanted butterflies that covered the forest made the woods glow with an eeriness not many could explain, then yet again, some may find the display romantic or peaceful. If a battle was not raging at the moment, Daryl and Rena could have enjoyed the beauty of these elegant magical creatures. But then, something more elegant, and more beautiful could be seen as Daryll and Rena swiftly passed it.

It was a slim woman with an angelic face and heavenly fluttering brown sandy hair. Her white silk gown waved with unfelt wind as she seem to give off a ghostly glow. She was stunning beautiful; rivaling the glow of the moon itself. She smiled towards Daryll; her face would be very familiar although they had never met.

'What in the bloody nine hells is going on here?' the boy was asking himself as he kept himself hugged tightly to Rena's back. He was shiverring as she ran and carried him, as the wind had cooled down the blood that had splashed onto him from the wolfess' wings suddenly bursting out. It was not the best thing that he had ever felt, but at least he was heading towards safety.

But, it did not help that the eerily glowing butterflies were floating about everywhere. Much like his father, the boy was starting to grow a bit irritated, if not angry, about the fact that the butterflies were around. Sometimes, they brushed up against his face. This made him want to sneeze, his nose twitching. However, he just stopped himself and shook his head.

'Please, let us be out of this fo--' He started to think, but his thoughts were cut short as he saw them run past someone... A woman. For some reason, the woman caught the boy's attention more than the butterflies did, his gaze staying on her as they ran past. He slowly found himself sitting up to keep his gaze on her. However, Daryll did not keep his gaze ahead of him.

Because of not having his focus on the path ahead of him, he was knocked clean off of Rena's back by a branch hitting the side of his head. He let out a slight grunt and a little bit of a loud whimper as he tumbled off, rolling until he laid on the ground. He was shaking a bit as he laid there, his eyes closed with pain. Never before had his head hurt this much. "Ah..." he muttered in English, "How come everything h-has to come down on me today?"
