(This was a realm where things were not simply off the mark, but off the blotch. Perception was crooked here. Images in the distance wavered...and some of them remained wavey even when you got closer. Imagine a stone-filled valley, one with ethereal fog and spiritual eyes poking in and out of it. The sky if watery, the ground is hard and veiny, and the air smells of someone's old left socks. Yes, a sub-section of the realm of chaos, also known to others in the world as Chaotica. This world use to be ruled by horrendous creatures, but now most of the old masters are dead and very few ever resurrected. The real Lord Chaos remains destroyed, and thus the realm remains unruled. The portal into this place is open and Jake jumps through it, arriving at the other end a few minutes later. He and Diana were here to confront a Joker spirit for the last couple pages of the Necronomicon. Having learned that the specter was using the pages already, it was go-time.) |

Diana followed suit, not too many seconds behind Jake, bo in hand. What she was getting herself into, well she didn’t truly know. Outer realms and other worlds fascinated her but she never once dreamt of venturing for the confines of her own reality. Nevertheless, there was a first time for everything, and this was definitely a first. Breaking through the threshold Diana got her first glimpse of her knew surroundings. She blamed it on the mode of travel, never once did she think that the realm itself would be the culprit to her displacement, but it was more than that. Blinking didn’t help any, focusing only brought on frustration and it seemed as if the whole point of this was to drive a sane person utterly mad. Regardless of the disarray in her head, Diana kept her senses poised, and her guard up. It didn’t take long for her to wish her sense of smell be crippled for the duration, this place reminded her of week old laundry, not that she knew first hand what it smelled like, not being the neat freak she was. A cold chill crept up her spine and set her on edge; it was as if they were being watched. Given the eyes hadn’t gone unnoticed she shook off the eerie feeling and looked to Jake with skepticism in her eyes before they hardened taking on that determined gaze again. She couldn’t even begin to think like this being they were after. There were no safe calculations, no way to guess what moves it would make and how. It was like going in blind for her. “This is going to get tricky and very dangerous isn’t it?” |

“This is going to get tricky and very dangerous isn’t it?” Jake: The trickiest... (Everything he looked at gave him a headache. If's Jake's mind hadn't already been warped once, he might not have been able to handle it that well. To understand madness, you have to go there. You have to go and play with its toys a bit, the toys in the attic, that is. He tried to get a bearing on the direction of the Joker here using his senses. It was no use. This place distorted thought and perception. His Spirit Radar bounced off of things weirdly, which was making it otherwase useless after only 100 yards.) Jake: Lovely. We're standing in a heap of chaos without direction. That leaves only one alternative... (He began to focus power into himself, the sword in his hand glowing in a menacing fashion. The elemental demon-blade was, after all, the main source of Jake's powers. He wasn't taking a demon form. He was merely 'revving up the engine'. It gave him a cool-looking aura and glowing eyes of lightning.) Jake: Come on. I'm bait for bad guys. (Jake was allowing detection of himself. Since his enemy knew that he was here anyway, he figured that letting them find him was the best way to get an idea on which way to go. This was actually quite effective, because more jester-looking zombie-creatures were coming from up a muscular hill. They didn't have blade-arms, just knife-like claws on every appendage. They dove in for an attack, three in all!) |

A silent sigh that was born only in her mind did little to relieve any stress. As Jake tried to find the Joker she spent her time looking over the area. It left little to be desired. Had this place ever been anything but a realm of chaos one would never know. Quirking an eyebrow she turned to Jake with a questioning gaze. It was obvious something was up or at least, he was up to something, and she was quickly learning not to be surprised by that aspect of him. “And what exactly…?” Her question never finished it self. Wide eyed she watched as the boy next to her put on quite the impressive light show. She pursed her lips and gave him one of those looks. You know the type, the one where it’s screaming “You lunatic!” Mentally shaking her head she knew he was right. The only way to find a needle in a haystack was to use a magnet. In taking a deep breath of the musty air, she looked up to see the small horde of creatures coming over the hill. Part of her hoped that was all that were coming; the other part of her was dying for the kill. It caught her by surprise, the thought should have never crossed her mind, but it did. Violent actions had never been her style; it must have been the air. Her introverted thoughts dropped. She watched them closely, observed their build, there movement. Ugly critters this lot, and armed to the hand with sharp looking claws. Well she wasn’t looking forward to becoming confetti and as they dove she did the only thing that came to her mind first. Squinting against what she knew was to come she lifted her free hand quickly and flung her shield in to being again as a defense, and oddly enough it took a bit more work than normal to hold it. “This could prove to be more of a work out than I originally thought.” |

“This could prove to be more of a work out than I originally thought.” Jake: Yup. (Well, at least he had the right charge for it. Sure, this whole thing was crazy, but it gave them an idea on where to puch to. The jester-demons rampaged down the hill on all-fours, their numbers apparently in the half-dozen region as more came up over the hilltop. The first three leapt at Jake directly, who reached out and grabbed the neck of one, forcing it to the ground as his sword-hand came up and keenly sliced the legs off of another as those next two missed him in their dive. The legless one and the other one that missed decided not to stop at Jake and head for Diana instead, the legless one walking on its hands. Meanwhile, the one Jake pinned down with his hand was getting the shock of a lifetime. It spasmed and fidgeted as Jake fried it, but it was no use. It couldn't get free and soon expired. Jake then threw a blast of wind at the next three, which knocked them against the hill. They got up, however, and merged into a freaky whirling-blades creature that flew at Jake and rammed him right off his feet!) HEE HEE HEE HA HA HA HAAAA!!! Jake: That's not funny! |

The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she watched Jake engage the demons that came at him. In her folly, she let both her guard and her shield down, thinking that he would draw them all in with the energy he was giving off. Quickly she realized what her distraction had earned her. One demon fully intact and looking quite ready to mince her in to tiny pieces and another, it’s bottom half missing, walking on its hands no less. Though her face skewed in meager disgust, her mind was already chiding her for leaving herself so open as the first move was made, but not on her part. The halved demon walking on his hands found motion enough to strike at her legs, leaving Diana with little to no room to react quick enough to dodge him completely. The sting of a sharp blade against her fragile skin was a wake-up call all its own, and if it hadn’t been for what movements she had made she was sure it could have been far worse. How cute she would have been wobbling around on one leg. She was sure Leon would of just loved the explanation for that. It was a flesh wound at best, but letting blood flow enough to clue her in to the fact that these things were serious. “Damn… that hurt.” A hideous cackling filled her ears as she whirled around to engage the other demon. Metal met claws as she saved herself from being impaled. Rolling backwards and kicking up in to the creature’s torso sent him flying up and over her. She moved quickly, coming back up and knocking the other off his hands. Leaving him little time to flail about, she pinned the demon to the ground, pouncing on him knees first and grabbed one of his arms, wrenching it back, clearly dislocating it, as she turned it on his companion. The dumb creature never saw it coming and in his lunge, he came face to face, or should we say chest to claw, with the sharp appendage impaling himself on his ally. If they bled she didn’t know, bringing up her shield she burned them both on the spot without batting an eyelash, quick and effective, just how she liked it. Never mind the slight thrill that filled her and made for an intoxicating mood. The sickly smell of burnt flesh filled her nostrils, as did the wretched sounds of their pain before it all went silent, save for the sounds of Jake’s fight. Picking up the bo she had lost somewhere along to the way she almost didn’t want to turn and see how it was going, but did so reluctantly, all the while ignoring the stinging coming from her left shin where a nasty looking cut presented itself quite clearly through sliced pants. |

(He had actually forgotten to tell her that it was no good to stab them, really, but Diana must have figured that they applied to most other undead rules, imolation being one of the proper disposal methods. In any case, there were three fighting Jake by the time Diana looked over at him. He impaled one on his sword and then flung it off so it flew into another's lap, tumbling the both of them on the ground like ragdolls. The third one struck down at Jake's arm with both sets of knife-like hands. Despite moving, he was caught in several places. Jake gave the creature a venomous look...shortly before dropping his sword and focusing on that one creature with his bare hands. One after the other, his hands swiped quickly with the power of his Aero Turbo Slice, with seemed to audibly break bones and disfigure the Deadite's physical form. He finished it off with a kick that sent it to the ground and a fireball from his then-formed Desolation Claw. The fireball exploded at the demon's crotch and torched its remainder to death. He looked over at the other two. They had grabbed Ixyzion and were fighting over it, but the demon sword spun around on its own accord and shredded their hands like they were in a buzzsaw.) Jake: Heh. Good one, Ixyzion. (The sword sliced them apart before Jake grasped it again. He was about to head up the hill...then stopped. Those three weren't the ones that he had been fighting a moment ago. They were an additional party that had shown up out of the blue. That being the case, what happened to the other three, the ones that had merged? After it rammed him, it kind of...vanished. But if so...where was-) Myyyaaaaahhhhh!!! (Diana would hear some kind of howl nearby. The trio-formed demon had flown off somewhere and was back now, only a couple of yards from where she was standing!) |

Victories were often short lived when one celebrated too early. Diana made the mistake of thinking it was over as she saw Jake finish off the last of the demons he had been fighting and start to head up the hill. In brushing stray hairs out of her face she never saw what was but within a few yards from her. The howling caught her attention quickly and her muscles instantly tensed up as she turned to look at the raging beast. This was not good, not good at all. Not only was this bigger but it was armed all over with sharp looking blades. Idly she twirled the bo in her right hand, and cast a side long glance at Jake before turning back. It came at her, quickly so. She had no choice but to face this thing head on and the space she needed to get in was quickly becoming non-existent. In a defensive move, she braced herself, lowered her stance and watched as with each passing second as the mass of whirling blades got closer. Granted she was tired when this whole thing began, and the fact that fighting wasn’t helping any along with the strange effects this plain was having on her mental state it was suicidal move on her part to just stand there. So how does one engage a demon of this nature? Well, just when it looked as if she were offering herself up to be the next sushi special in Chinatown Diana thrust the end of her bo straight in to the ground, and swung herself up and around it planting a firm and powerful kick to the creatures head. It would have gone off smoothly but despite her well placed kick the demon did little more than stumble. One of the muscular arms reached out and grabbed hold of the bo, flinging it up and over his head, slinging Diana like a rag doll with it since she refused to let go. Her grip slipped and the next thing she knew was she was air borne, flying backwards at an amazing rate. She braced herself for the harsh landing that followed, her feet hit ground first but she continued to slide back, kicking up rock and dirt before eventually fall flat on her front. It didn’t so much as it did knock the breath out of her and grunting she forced herself up. Looking to a gloating demon with her blurred vision and the minor aches she knew would become bruises later on. Of course, she wasn’t as concerned about herself as she was getting rid of this thing so they could move on. But what one question had to be answered before that could happen… just what the hell was that thing doing with her bo, a victory dance? “These things get more disgusting by the second...” |

(The answer to that unspoken question was in the form of Jake sweatdropping. He quickly raced over to the beast and yanked the bo away with an unexpected ferocity that the demon was a little surprised about.) Jake: No. Hell no. Not happening. No way. (The demon yelled at him as it turned and lunged for Jake's stomach, taking to ram him and twist. Jake put his sword in the way, which knocked it off course, but it still impacted his right hip and torn at him a couple times with claws in passing. He placed the bo down on the ground and waited patiently. The demon would come to him when he wanted it to. First, he teased it with a small lightning bolt. That angered it and it soon sprang towards him, opening a big three-way mouth to swallow him whole!) Jake: Thank you. I was waiting for that. (He began to swing his sword, catching the wind along the way to project several slices into the mouth of the charging beast. Its internal makeup was torn and blooded, the whole thing collapsing in front of Jake as the three separate Deadites tried to separate. Jake didn't give them time, though. He took the bo up from the ground and mashed their brains in with it, cleaning it off with the wind after he was done. He went over and handed it back to Diana.) Jake: Sorry about the mess. |

Eww… Watching someone mash the brains of anything wasn’t exactly high up on her list of things to do. Funny how she couldn’t find the means to pull her eyes away though. It was as if she were a glutton for punishment or something. Maybe it was that damned human curiosity. The thing that made her ask the question she didn’t want to hear the answer to, and venture around in search god only knows where to find page from a book she knew next to nothing about. Well she did know it summoned demons, but nothing beyond that. It was quite possible that was a good thing though. The people who had the most information were always the targets. She was just here for the excitement, to help a friend or something like that. “It’s quite alright.” Looking up to Jake she smiled meekly, taking her bo from him and giving it the once over. It wasn’t that important to her, but she was pretty much on her own without it. Running her hand over the smooth metal, she leaned it back over her shoulder. Why was he apologizing about a mess? Worse thing could have happened. One of them could be dead for example, or seriously injured. Aside from the minor bruises and a little scratch on her leg, she wasn’t any worse for wear than he was. Shrugging she smirked and cast a determined look up to the hill. “I guess there’s no where to go but forward eh?” |

(Jake couldn't help but be the way he was. The thought of dying here didn't enter into his mind at all. That he would be killed was not a notion he allowed himself to entertain, or the notion of anyone whom he could consider friend to be killed either. In any case, the situation was now as Diana said.) “I guess there’s no where to go but forward eh?” Jake: Onward and upward. Little hike is all... (He began to step up the strangely muscular hill with no other creature attemting to brutalize them at the moment. Once reaching its apex, he saw a cave with two Deadites chained nearby. They were big and dog-like, perhaps hellhounds. They protected the entrance to the cave, but as Jake approached...a pair of muzzles and straightjackets appeared on the crazy hounds, and a voice spoke out.) "Oh dear... I haven't been a very gracious host. First, I try to have you killed, and then I insult you with those mutts. I do apologize for that. Please, come in." (That was most unexpected. A lady's voice was clearly heard out there, with them, thought it must have come from the inside. Jake moved into the cave carefully and found that no opposition lay in their way, all the way to the central cavern, where the creature that Dominic had rendered was indeed here. And...it was a she, apparently. The Joker spoke, quite candidly and without any trace of negativity.) "I am Loveless...and you have come for my prize." |

As always, she kept up to Jake, not walking beside him so much as she was walking to his side and behind a bit. Walking the hill in question, she quickly found use for her bo as a walking stick, unconventional walking stick maybe but it worked. She peered over Jakes shoulder getting a good view of the big dog-like creatures guarding the entrance of the cave. Looking on with a cautious eye, she wondered just how they were supposed to get past them. The thought didn’t last long before the two found themselves muzzled and bound by straight jackets allowing Jake and Diana to slip right on by with little to no worry, except for the fact that the vice that spoke from within sounded all too inviting to be trusted. Now it’s a known fact that women in general are conniving and manipulating creatures, that’s the normal ones too. Diana knew this, she hoped Jake knew this too and for some reason the idea of a female demon of sorts didn’t exactly hit the top of the scale on her list of people to mingle with. Ever observant she masked the doubt with apathy and suited her face with a stoic expression. Humans do as humans do though and though she was giving little to no indication of her inner most thoughts she begged to question the mysterious Loveless. “Well if that’s what you call it, then yes.” She really didn’t want to get in to with this thing. If the whole ordeal could be handled diplomatically then they’d all leave happy. “Is a trade required, or are you willing to relinquish it freely?” |

Jake: Well, you seem to be on top of things. “Is a trade required, or are you willing to relinquish it freely?” Loveless: Hmmm... (She actually had to think on that for a moment. A second ago, she was thinking to say that giving up her prize under any circumstance was out of the question. After all, it wasn't her fault that people lost things, or that they sometimes ended up here. What she gathered was her own, and anyone who disagreed...could be taken care of in a most unspeakable manner.) Loveless: I rather like being able to command the dead spawns that come of the pages I found. Reserving the spell formula was no easy trick. For doing that, I should find myself more deserving of them than even the one who has the book. That would be you, wouldn't it? Jake: Yeah, that's right. So what? Loveless: They would give anything to remove that book from your dead fingers, even make me their honorary queen. Can you offer me something better? I know you won't give me that book willingly... Jake: Damn straight, I won't. You're the worst kind of creature I could ever hand this thing over to. Loveless: Aww...you're breaking my heart. Hmm, scratch that. There's nothing left to torture there. Perhaps I could have yours? Jake: Oooh, can't do that. Uh-uh. My heart belongs to someone else. Loveless: My my... So stingy... You must learn to be more giving...especially when you're a guest in my abode. DO stay a little longer. You must see a sample of my craft. (As soon as she said it, a line of translucient-gray energy streamed through part of the floor and came to the exit, which soon melted as it made contact. The energy was something that rearranged the molecules of the intended target. It was a controlled distortion wave technique.) Loveless: I haven't had guests in the longest time. Try to be rough. I enjoy a good scuffle. |

She watched the exchange between the two with a slow growing sense of dread. Loveless was an imposing figure before with her inhuman appearance, but the more she spoke the more that image grew and it was becoming obvious the two would have to do more than talk. Looking back, she watched with a disheartening gaze as the entrance to the cave seals up under the demon’s command. Furrowing her brow, she looked back at Loveless then to Jake before her gaze drifted downward to her feet. Shaking her head slowly she resided herself to the fact that this is just another obstacle in their way. Slowly she realized the page itself isn’t too important any more. It’s the fact an evil creature like her has control of it and can cause her own chaos that really irks her senses. Looking up her face is that of utter seriousness, and yet, it’s impassive. On the inside, she felt nothing but the pin pricks of a mild anger forming. It took her little time to clear the distance between she and Loveless. The motion was silent, Diana neither spoke nor gave a battle cry, she just did what came to mind. Using her speed as momentum when she jumped and twisted, moving in to a spinning back kick aimed for Loveless’s head. |

(This was a more serious battle thhan he realized. Jake almost hit himself for not remembering the distortion power of chaotic beings. Then, as he held his sword up, preparing to attack, Diana...already did! She was quick, striking the back of the demoness' head like that. The Joker pitched forward, almost losing balance, but her arm whipped back without joint and grabbed the ankle of the kicking foot. Then, Loveless twisted around so that she would toss Diana over into a wall. Jake was immediately on the offensive, driving his sword to cleave the chaotic in half. It failed, somehow. The blade wouldn't cut. Loveless' body was strange. It bent around the sword, her body making crackle noises, as if to break bones... Jake then realized...) Jake: Oh shit! She can disjoint her whole body to suit any occasion! (Loveless was bent around Jake's empowered blade, but not very hurt by it. Her body played by rules that he didn't understand, but that she soon used to levy a kick to the face as she flipped over the blade and straightened out. She stood up and spoke.) Loveless: You can't just cut and leave, boy. Such medievil weaponry has been my bread and my wine from the beginning. I am use to this kind of abuse, you silly thing. (He put Ixyzion away and summoned a Desolation Claw. Perhaps a dark fire will quell the thing... But no, he was wrong there, too. Loveless' claws sang out as she watched the black-and-orange flames coming. She used a distortion technique to GRAB THE FIRE like a whip and sling it back at Jake! The resulting explosion canceled the demonic gauntles and sent Jake flying against a wall himself.) Jake: Okay.... That didn't work. |

Her eyes lost focus, and the room went in to a blur. Being thrown was an odd feeling. The rush of the air past her ears, and the chilling feeling that was left from Loveless’s grasp distracted her long enough, and Diana hit the wall, hard. Smacking her head back against the wall of the cave, she let out little more than a choked gasp before her whole body fell forward. The ground was hard, cold and very uncomfortable, not exactly the most pleasant of places to be. Ignoring the pain in her head, Diana struggled to get her breath back, and pushed herself up. The stars took a moment to vanish from her vision as she tried to focus on what was going on around her. It cleared just in time to let her see Jake fly in to the wall. It was startling really. Jake seemed like such a strong person, and to see him like this was unnerving really. Shaking her head, Diana stood up slowly. She wasn’t going to let a little thing like this get her down, everything had a weakness, they just had to find Loveless’s. “We’ll just have to try something else then…” Pushing forward she found a means to stand up straight again. Wincing slightly as her back popped Diana trudged closer to Loveless, stopping a good six feet from her. Looking up at the thing with a calculating yet half-open eyes Diana wasn’t sure what to make of her. She could bend around Jake’s blade, and even use his own powers against him to some extent. The could go at it fist to…erm… fist, but chances were they would wear out long before the demon. Not to mention she was sure mind games wouldn’t work too well either. She sighed, frustrated and looking back to Jake before casting a questioning gaze back to Loveless. “It’s all just a game to you isn’t it?” |

“It’s all just a game to you isn’t it?” Loveless: Naturally. I seldom get the chance for such diversions. Not in a place like this. In a world where everything distorts, I am merely a player. But you two, who do not even use the most basic of chaotic powers... I feel as if I were so much more... A truly enlightened and powerful being. Jake: Oh, so glad you appro- FUCK!! (His sudden outburst of sarcasm was cut short while trying to get off the ground. He swore out in pain as he'd tried to use his left arm for support. It was terribly burnt, scorched by the backfire of his own flames. It didn't look like any permanent damage, though. Jake stood up using his right arm to help him up. He recalled when Nightmare caused the same thing to happen to him. His arm had been in such terrible pain that he couldn't even more it. Not so severe now, but it would still take time to heal...) Jake: So, you like taking abuse, do you? Loveless: Doesn't it show? (It DID show. The spikes in her heart, the 'tear' under her eye, the wickedly-shaped body... She was clearly a masochist. So, how does one deal with a masochist who was clearly also a complete sadist? She was like the Candarian Demons. She seemed to like pain, inflicting agony, torturing and teasing people, and probably even swallowing souls. But get deep enough... Oh no. Could it really be that obvious? Would she really have a a weakness right out in the open? Did she even have a choice? She was Loveless, a so-called tortured being. Yet what wounds ran deeper than that of the heart? As a macabre piece of art, she was a masterpiece. However, if her body was so symbolic...) Jake: Say, Diana... I think that bo of yours needs to checked after that Deadite thing. Loveless: What Deadite thing? Surely, you don't mean- Jake: Yes, I do. I don't mean to pry, but the things they were using it for... Ew... Loveless: I found it rather amusing, myself. Jake: It might be funny to you, but I should think that when the stakes are this high that we make sure our weapons are in top-shape. Here, why doncha' check mine? (Jake suddenly closed the gap between him and the Joker, his sword empowered with lightning to give it a nasty edge. He didn't doubt her tolerance to pain, but that didn't matter much. If his hint was picked up by Diana, they could be out of there soon.) |

So that was it, they were just little pieces on her chest board. Something about that really didn’t sit well with the white haired girl, the scowl that crossed her face was almost as painful to make as it would be to look at. Just as quickly as it appeared it vanished to the sound of Jake’s curse. Turning sharply on her heel, she watched as Jake tried to get up, her eyes immediately darted to his arm. Always the trooper he was up before she could get a word out, drawing her attention to another matter at that. Looking over her bo she saw little in the way of damage. It might be due for a bit of cleaning…definitely. Other than that, it seemed fine. Looking to Jake she wasn’t sue what he was up to, not until he moved forward. It clicked slowly, or so it seemed. The sword in his hand, the lightning that crackled over its blade, she certainly was happy not to be on the receiving end of that nasty little shock. Darting forward a step behind Jake, she jumped up again, bringing the bo in her hands up and over her head then down, aiming as if to impale Loveless with it straight through her skull. Where was her sword when she needed it? |

(Jake saw that Diana was ready with the bo and she was attacking out of Loveless' sight-range, but...she wasn't striking where he'd hoped she'd realize where to strike. To facilitate this, Jake suddenly uppercutted the Joker Spirit in the face, which would knock her head back and move her body a little...) Loveless: Oh, that was delightf- AGH!! (The bo did not strike her in the head, but got itself wedged between two of the stakes in Loveless' chest. The answer had been staring at them the whole time. Loveless felt only the pain of the heart. Satisfied that his theory had been proven, Jake kicked up at the three stakes and Loveless shrieked in pain as the pointed things broke off. She was in a crouch, her single eye flaming with anger and her right hand over her bleeding heart. Her rage was like a towering inferno.) Loveless: How dare you... You...you.....MONSTER!!! (She let out a scream of fury that seemed to emanate from two voices. Jake was about to retort, but suddenly he backed away as something tore a hole in her chest from inside where the strakes were and began to puch its way out. It was a head and a torso, all black. The head wore a white masquerade type mask and had a mouth full of rotten fangs. Jake watched in utter shock as Loveless appeared to be reborn from her rapidly misshaping body. Her original torso expanded and her head melted down to become a shoulder and open its mouth to allow a black exoskeletal arm with claws to exit. The original left arm grew and jutted a long spike from the palm. Loveless' lower body changed to allow the legs to become something more insectoid, supported by her original right arm and a real insect limb that grew out of her stomach. The bladed wings became as whispy tendrils, sparking with electricity. Jake had only one comment.) Jake: Whoa... That's just...ouch. (The abomination before them looked painful just to watch. Loveless was quite out of control now. However, she was also probably more vulnerable in this state too. And Jake knew that lightning wasn't going to be of much use, so he...what the...? He put his sword away and backed up towards the wall. What was he up to? He had a grin, so there was something up. But...what?) |

(( I blame the medication )) “What the hell!?” Diana hadn’t had time to think about what she had done. The moment she landed she backed away up until the point her back hit the wall. Gripping her bo tightly to her chest she watched in a horrid fascination as Loveless’s body was ripped and torn, giving birth to a new monstrosity. It was just one of those things, no matter how disgusting, you couldn’t look away from. Her stomach turned at the sight and her own flesh crawled with every new tear. She took back every thought she ever had, every comment she made about something being disgusting. The hideous insect-thing should have been enough to give her nightmares for a month. Biting her bottom lip lightly her grip tightened slightly and she tried to rein in her senses. Looking over to Jake she was not only were her senses in a bind from shock but she was utterly confused. It looked like something she’d spray with a can of bug-be-gone, just bigger and uglier. So what was he going to do, pull out a giant flyswatter, or did he have something else brewing in that head of his? Maybe this time she wouldn’t be so clueless. Either way she had to get a hold of herself. It wasn’t like her to cower back like this. Obviously certain things had begun to make Diana soft, she might have to find a way to remedy that. In the meantime, there was a giant thing to deal with. “I don’t suppose you’ve got any bug spray.” It was only then that she noticed the grin on his lips. “What are you thinking?” |

“I don’t suppose you’ve got any bug spray.” Jake: Ah, no. Not really. (He was now in the middle of dodging a few of Loveless' attacks. Her left arm was effectively like a mantis, slashing and stabbing at him. Unfortunately, Jake was fast AND smiling, which meant the situation was under control. She sliced into the wall a couple of times. Loveless was going to have to do better than that.) “What are you thinking?” Jake: Oh, nothing. Just... (The horrid spirit let out a scream of rage as she breathed a distortion wave of chaos at Jake. He had been expecting this and moved aside at full speed, now across the room from Diana. He was laughing now, which was kind of disturbing for this time and place. But then, upon looking where Loveless hit, the entrance to the cave was back, along with the tunnel that led to the surface. With that in mind, Jake finished his sentence.) Jake: WIND TUNNEL!! *FWOOOOSH!!!* (Like a super-sonic cannon, wind forces equal to that of a high-powered tornado shot from the tunnel, blasting the Joker across the room and into the back wall. Jake was laughing at the entire schtick like it was a comedy, then explained to Diana what was going on.) Jake: She's not nearly as durable in that form, just able to throw around more power. I don't know if we can ever really kill her, but we can get out if you like. Hee hee hee... |

“…” For once, the girl was speechless. Watching blankly as Jake’s plan went in to motion. The results of which offered them a way out of this cave. Thankful as she was for the opportunity to get out of a cramped area she wasn’t too sure it would be safer outside as opposed to in. Looking at Loveless, she shook her head. It was definitely time to get out of here. Jake was acting crazy, laughing like some maniac and there was a big ugly… thing that she just knew wasn’t going to be all too happy when it got back on its feet. “Well, out it is then.” Skittering across the floor she didn’t hesitate making a bee-line for the exit, a;; the while forgetting about the hideous looking canines they had passed upon entering until she almost breached the threshold. Stopping abruptly, she hesitated, gripping her bo a little tighter than necessary. Quirking an eyebrow she kept her eyes trained on the outside. “Jake… what about the dogs? You don’t think they’re still out there do you?” There she went thinking again instead of just moving on. It wasn’t in her nature to act blissfully ignorant, unless it was just that, an act. Weighing the options, she’d be happy to deal with the mutts versus the she-demon back there. Which also reminded her, they hadn’t gotten that page yet. |

“Well, out it is then.” (It was not so much that the laughter was maniacal, as it was genuinely funny to see that thing go flying into a wall for a change. In any case, Jake certainly had no problem in leaving, and followed Diana towards the entrance to the cave. Then, she stopped, remembering what Jake had actually forgotten about.) “Jake... What about the dogs? You don’t think they’re still out there do you?” Jake: Hmmm... I don't know. I can't trust my senses in here, but...I don't hear anything. Maybe- (Jake had been getting closer to the entrance, close enough to hear better what was going on out there. What he hadn't been expecting was what actually happened. No dogs, no growls, no attacks. Only a blood chilling sound that froze him where he stood. It sounded like...babies. Newborn babies crying and wailing as one, as if it had come from one set of vocal cords. Jake took several steps back, extremely wary of the entrance now.) Jake: I think the dogs...might have been taken care of. (Just then, he heard the sound of insectoid skittering. Their female abomination was back and still quite pissed off. One thing that Jake noted was that she had the page from the Necronomicon in her hand. Jake hadn't forgotten it. He just felt that it wasn't worth all of this to get at it. And now, being caught between Loveless and the now-silent baby-screamer, Jake was beginning to think that they were getting a little in over their heads.) Loveless: Aren't...you...FORGETTING SOMETHING?!?! Jake: Ummm, no. I think we'll pass, thanks. Loveless: You will mock me no longer! I'm going to send you to where THEY live, and watch them tear you and your bitch to pieces!! WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT?!?!? (What Jake was thinking was that they were in some deep shit if she got as far as shouting out a few passages. Jake's mind raced to figure something out, but he wasn't how to stop her as she began to read. The page began to glow...and then something happened. There were several impacts from above, and then a hole broke through the ceiling to allow a large number of tongues to snag the chaotic spirit. More baby-howling was heard and Jake shuddered. Loveless dropped the page in order to fight what had to be a losing battle against the unknown thing. Jake didn't want to get near it. Whatever it was, it felt wrong.) |

Looking to Jake for an answer, she followed him as she listened in silence before a sudden chill shot up her spine. Stopping suddenly her eyes went wide in both shock and disturbance. Diana didn’t know what to make of it, the sound of a child’s cry haunted her, but she knew better than to venture further. She joined Jake on his level of cautiousness, deciding that stepping back a bit may have been the better idea. If things could possibly get any worse, then they did. Turning slowly she followed his line of sight to Loveless. The demon was more furious than ever, shouting obscenities that on a normal basis would make Diana’s blood boil. She looked on indifferently, noting the page in her hands, and knowing fully well there was nothing she’d be able to do to stop an incantation of any sort. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, or just a twisted act of fate. Either way there was a sick sort of comfort that sprung to life when the roof of the cave gave way and Loveless found herself at odds with an unknown… thing. The sounds of babies came back though, and it left her unknowing of whether to be truly thankful or pity Loveless for what lay ahead of her. It was all she could do to cast a sidelong glance to Jake, who seemed frozen in place. Looking back to the struggling demon, she saw the page they had been after laying helplessly on the ground. They’d come so far… would it really end like this, with the two failing in their mission? Furrowing her brow she had half a mind to dart in and retrieve it, for the simple fact she hated losing, but she also didn’t want to get cross in the struggle at hand. “We’re just going to leave it here then?” Her voice whispered with hints of disappointment, she never even turned to look at Jake, she was far to caught up in the sight before her. “It seems like such a waste of effort.” |

“We’re just going to leave it here then? It seems like such a waste of effort.” Jake: Oh, uhh...no, not really. (While the Joker spirit was dragged up to what was likely to be its demise, Jake pointed a hand out towards the page and summoned a careful draft of wind. That was the one good thing about paper. It was light and easy to move around. It soon came to rest at Jake's feet and he picked it up.) Jake: I was just trying to figure out how to get it without...you know...getting too close. Now, uhh, let's get the hell out of here. (When Jake wants out, you know it's time to go. He got moving just as the screams of agony from Loveless intensified. It sounded as if she was being chewed. Judging by the fact that their unknown assailent didn't just follow them inside, it had to be large. Jake led the way out of the cave, mostly because he wanted OUT. They had to get back to where the portal had been before to catch another one. Just then, Dominic appeared! Well, sort of...) Jake: Astral projection? Dominic: Quite. Ummm... Jake: What is it, Dominic? Spit it out! Dominic: You may or may not want to look behind you. (Jake's eyes widened as he heard the wail. It was like a thousand babies being burnt alive. It was farther off, but he knew what Dominic meant. It had their 'scent'. Jake risked looking back and...) Jake: HOLY SHIT!! (Picture, if you will, something that is humanoid, but bounding on all-fours. Its body looks very humanesque, like a sunburnt Caucasian even, but the resemblance to human ends there. The creature is about as big as a standard automobile, has clawed hands and feet, and with a face that even a mother couldn't love. The face of a devil, an innocent-looking almost child-like devil with forehead horns and red eyes, but a devil just the same. It was that large an obscenity, plus it had a long bony tail that ended in a spiky talon. It was their baby-howler alright. You could tell by the leg that was hanging out from between its fangs.) |

A sharp chorus of shivers ran down her spine as Loveless was finally snatched up and out of sight. There was a rare yet final certainty to the whole matter when they turned their backs to leave. Glancing once over her shoulder she frowned, wondering why on Earth she even felt the need to show concern for something that tried to kill them. If this is what it meant to feel then perhaps she would have been happier not knowing at all. Perhaps, she decided with a dry smirk a she turned to catch up with Jake, that wouldn’t be so bad. Ah but that was the insomnia working its way through her mind and messing with her mentality, bad enough that the very plane they were on had its own way of muddling up her thoughts. Weary, and having her fill of excitement for one adventure she quirked a tired eyebrow up at the image of Dominic. She truly didn’t want to turn around, she knew there was going to be something there she didn’t want to see, but she did so anyway after hearing Jake’s curse. For the love of God it was certainly ugly enough to be dubbed a monster. Diana’s stomach rolled and she felt hollow all of a sudden. If it was strong, enough to take out Loveless, then that was all the reassurance she needed to know it was way past time to get out of here. “Ummm… Dominic, not to sound pushy, but, do you think we could leave?” She looked back to his form with raised eyebrows. “Right now preferably.” |

“Ummm... Dominic, not to sound pushy but, do you think we could leave? Right now preferably.” Dominic: What? Oh, right! Of course! (The unnerving quality of the thing had set his mind wandering, possibly due to his Oracle powers. He might've been having a terrible vision. In any case, Dominic snapped his ethereal fingers and a new portal appeared. It was identical to the last one. The howler-beast arrived shortly after they made it through, and the portal vanished before it could try to get through. They were in Dominic's house again, none the worse for wear. Well, almost. Jake was trying to throttle Dominic!) Jake: What the hell was that thing?! Dominic: I don't know! Not yet, anyway... Does it matter? You got the page. Jake: Oh yeah, that's right... (He produced the page and pulled out the Necronomicon. The Deadite book lashed out a tongue at the page and 'ate' it, then belched. Thus restored, it did...nothing. What'd they expect? It's just a tome of evil, after all. Jake looked over at Dominic again, who was mumbling while in another trance.) Dominic: Thirteen shall be collected to open the gates... Twelve are mortal and one is Great. The last of them all seeks love with a dualty. He alone shall hold the Heart of Cruelty... Jake: Nice lyrics, Dom, but what's it all about? Dominic: What? Oh....sorry. (He now looked like he had a bad headache.) Dominic: I was looking into the path of that creature and I came head to head with a dark prophecy about thirteen demons. It must've been from another world, one far removed from this one or your own. Jake: Okay...next question. How do we get back home? John couldn't do it, so you'll have to do something instead. Dominic: I have no idea. Jake: Say what? But you're a Seer! See our way out of it! Dominic: Normally, I could, but you know that we have limits. I can see into your future, your past... I can see everything else, but I can't see how you leave this world. It's as if I were being blocked... |

There was never a time she thought a portal would be the one thing she was thankful to see. Crossing over and back in to Dominic’s realm she was relieved to be away from that chaotic plane but at the same time finding that semi-normal surroundings would take a bit of time to adjust. Shaking her head lightly she tried to clear whatever fog was lingering. Listening to Jake and Dominic talk helped, it at least gave her something to focus on. Mentally laughing she was happy that Jake had gotten his page. Though the sight of the book eating it was rather disturbing, she tried her best to brush the chill that crept up her spine away. They had gained his treasure, and with all the adventurous thoughts out of her head, she was ready to go back home now. Brushing stray bangs out of her face, she gave Dominic an odd look whilst he was chanting. It sounded like more of a prophecy than anything did, but she wasn’t one to call judgment on things of that nature. However, her assumptions were confirmed and in her silence, she had to halt her mind from running wild with that insane riddle. Leaning against the wall she crossed her arms over her chest, feeling the tell tale signs of fatigue starting to take over. She had started this trip on little sleep hadn’t she? Then she heard Jake ask the question, which was soon followed by an answer she hadn’t expected. Diana looked to Dominic with an expression as if she’d lost her best friend. It was rare that she ever let her self-control slip. Normally the girl was so well collected, so polite and proper. However, with news like this smacking you in the face, it was hard to keep composure. Her mind set off in all directions. What about Leon and Alex? She couldn’t just disappear, she had a future to tend to, things to do. Biting her bottom lip, she scowled deeply, looking more angry than upset, though she was both. She held her place, daring not to move, but it was evident that things were not going to be pretty if she and Jake were going to be stuck here. Unfortunately, that didn’t keep her from speaking. “What do you mean blocked!? I thought we took care of that problem! You mean to tell me we’re stuck here until you figure out a way to get us home or if just so happen to stumble across a portal!?” With her temper rising, she pushed off the wall, letting her arms fall down at her side, her hands gripped in to tight fists. “We’ve got families back home and I’ll be dammed if I’m just going to sit here and wait until that block lifts. There’s got to be something we can do!” |

“What do you mean blocked!? I thought we took care of that problem! You mean to tell me we’re stuck here until you figure out a way to get us home or if just so happen to stumble across a portal!?” (The look on Dominic's face, upon hearing Diana shout at him like that, was the equivalent of Vash The Stampede looking at something really scary. In other words, he backed away, as if in fear, which he certainly should have been in.) Dominic: Hey, don't blame the messenger... I'm not keeping you here. “We’ve got families back home and I’ll be dammed if I’m just going to sit here and wait until that block lifts. There’s got to be something we can do!” Jake: Diana, wait. It's not as bad as it looks. The only way for anyone to do this to Dominic is to be able to send interference directly at him. We took care of the demon's eye, so it has to be something else. (Jake then took a very careful look at the Necronomicon...) Jake: Something that doesn't want me to banish all the spirits lounging around in my room. (Jake was about to open the Book of the Dead...when it suddenly grew teeth and started snapping at him like a real mouth! Jake shouted in surprise when this happened, realizing that MAYBE he might not have had the full control of this book that he thought he did. The book flew on its own volition, trying to bite at the ducking and weaving Jake as he backed away from it. Dominic merely stepped out of the way with an annoyed-looking expression.) Dominic: A Book of the Dead using its arcane powers to block my senses? Yeah, that sounds about right. At least my older brother isn't here... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (But without his second-sight working properly, Dominic cannot possibly know that was figure dressed in a black cloak was quietly making his way through Lynn's Brook, largely unnoticed because the residents of that town were largely idiots and complete fools. The black-and-white-haired man in the cloak smirked as he felt traces of necromancy from a rather familiar location...) |

"Sorry about all that… but I don't much like the idea of being trapped here.” They did little in the way of getting her to calm down, but she did realize that perhaps she’d been a bit too snappy in her comments. Even still, she was entitled to acting out every now and then. Listening to Jake and Dominic only made her shake her head. Then the book snapped an action that made even her recoil back against the wall in a mild shock. Part of her expected something like that to happen, and another part was just awe struck. Gathering herself, she groaned inwardly, watching Jake duck and dodge the assault of sharp teeth. Glancing to Dominic she quirked an eyebrow before using her bo to pin the book down to the floor and relieve Jake of his tormentor for a few moments. “Why would you say something like that Dominic…” A low grunt left her as she applied her body weight, adding to the pressure that held the book in place. Feisty little thing that one was, it gave new meaning to the old saying ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’. “… or is that one of those questions I don’t want to hear the answer to?” |

(The book seemed to growl and squirm under Diana's bo, but it didn't appear to be going anywhere and finally started acting more like a book. Not that that would make her lift the bo, but it still meant that it had recognized futility. Jake had been only a few seconds from drawing his sword on it, even though that would have thrashed the book completely.) Jake: Phew... Thanks. “Why would you say something like that Dominic...or is that one of those questions I don’t want to hear the answer to?” (A vexed and somewhat cross look came upon Dominic's face, though Diana was not the recipient of such a look. That was a "I really hate my older brother" look. Of course, he didn't mind explaining. The more people who knew what kind of scoundrel he was, the better.) Dominic: My brother, Jacob... He's a necromancer, perhaps the lowest form of humanity you can take in this world, barring Infernomancers. When my family was attacked by a necromancer, he was facinated by the walking dead while I was terrorized and my younger brother, Gregory, was struck by the Blight. And while I studied second-sight, he read into the black arts and spread the Blight through Gregory's body. I hate him beyond any all other necromancers... Jake: D'you think he might know how to tame a book? (Just then, a dark fireball shot through the door, destroying it, and flew towards Jake, which he deflected with his sword. A cloaked figure stood at the doorway, underneath the hood of which was a man perhaps a few years older than Dominic. He had black and white hair and a devilish smile on his also, while his right arm was apparently human, his left arm, still outstretched, was black and skeletal, Blighted to the point of total corruption. He then answered the open question.) Jacob Deegan: Yes, I can. |

Eww… If Diana had ever regretted anything, then asking that question was it. Watching Dominic’s face change made her own shift a bit, though her expression wasn’t quite so irritated as it was comically apologetic. Listening to him explain she got a bit more information than she bargained for. Now his attitude towards his brother made sense. It was rationalized by the simple fact that he killed his own brother. Diana would have felt the same, but all the same, it was rather disheartening. Family was still family, no matter how vile their deeds. Gingerly, almost nonchalantly, she continued to hold her weight on the book, just enough to keep it stable in case it decided to act up again. Deep in thought her world of contemplation splintered just as the door did. Stunned by the sudden crashing and snapping of wood she jumped slightly, watching as Jake deflected the second fireball. It was quite the dramatic and flashy entrance, as the assailant revealed himself, standing hidden behind the veil of his hooded cloak. There was a low, agitated groan. Wasn’t this the part in the story where the bad guy said something dramatic? Oh no, wait, there it was, she could have rolled her eyes, and mentally she was. On the outside her eyebrow twitched slightly, this guy was definitely not here to help them, she knew that much. Even if he did she had a hunch his price would be high, very high he didn’t seem like the generous and giving type at all. Glancing down she checked to see what that the book was still there. Looking between Jake and Dominic only produced a sigh before turning her attention back to Jacob. “And the price for those services would be?” |

“And the price for those services would be?” (The necromancer stepped into the room some and then halted. He looked over at Dominic, who did not want him here, and then at the other two. Finally, he answered the question posed to him with a smile.) Jacob: Nothing. Jake: Nothing? Jacob: Nothing. Jake: What's the catch? Jacob: No catch. I tame the book and I leave. Dominic: And in the process, you learn what could possibly be great untold secrets of the undead. Jacob: Am I really that obvious? Dominic: Yes. (He said this while gesturing towards Jacob's skeletal arm. It was a matter of fact that Jacob Deegan wanted nothing more than to be the best necromancer he could, straight unto becoming a living zombie whose body is thereby unkillable.) Dominic: I don't trust you. Not after what you did to Gregory... Jacob: Oh come now, Dominic... I didn't kill him. Dominic: Oh no, not yet! But you almost made him into a zombie when you spread the Blight in his body, and he certainly almost did die when you ripped the Blight from his leg later! (Diana had been mistaken about the fate of Dominic's younger brother. He wasn't killed. He had had to live with his pain, the Blight in his body only slowly pushed back to his leg through his study of white magic. Then, years later, Jacob had pulled the Blight out of his leg and nearly killed him again from the blood-loss.) Jake: Dominic, can he read ancient Babylonian or Sumerian text wrapped in a demonic tongue? Dominic: I don't think so. Jake: Diana, give him the book. We'll let him work on it and kill him if he tries to turn it on us. |

It was true, Diana wasn’t a very trusting person, and with the way Jacob had come in to the house she wasn’t wavering in the slightest on her previous judgments. Compiling that with Dominic’s obvious dislike for the man, she still felt wary of him, even if he did claim to not want anything in exchange for his help. Something about him just made her want to not like him. So what if he hadn’t actually killed his younger brother, she still looked at him as if he were lower than the dirt that clung to the bottom of her shoes. She wanted to protest when Jake told her to give Jacob the book, really, she did, but the words failed her. In a series of swift motions, she removed her weight from the bo, swiping the book up in one hand before walking forward and stretching her arm out to give it to Jacob. Her thoughts may have been cynical but damn she was good at putting on a mask when she had to, although her expression was more indifferent then pleasant at any rate. “Be careful with that, it’s a biter.” Sure, they’d kill him, it was just that easy. Just like she could have handed the book over to Jake and made him get closer to Mr. Tall Dark and Creepy, but Diana didn’t usually let things scare her, let alone people. She assumed under all that, he was still a person. Mentally she was rolling her eyes at the whole thing. Still, she supposed it beat having to fit a muzzle to a demonic book. Not to mention with it tamed the two could go home, so in retrospect maybe Jacob wasn’t such a bad guy after all. She’d been wrong before, hell she was only human. Maybe his efforts were just misinterpreted. It didn’t matter, none of it did. She just wanted to get back home to her cozy little room, and take a nice, long, nap and not get killed in the process. Of course, that would be preceded by the intake of a number of sleeping pills, but who was judging here? |

“Be careful with that, it’s a biter.” (Diana handed over the Book of the Dead to Jacob Deegan, who was smiling in his own sly little way as he took it from here with his skeletal hand. Jacob liked to do things that creeped and/or grossed people out. It was sort of a trade of his. He really didn't care much for Jake's comment of killing him, but he also just didn't care. It was true, though, that he could not read the book's words. Still, he had to tame it anyway. Holding it now in his hand of flesh, wide open, he poised his boney arm over it and sent strings of a dark and blighted energy in and out of the Necronomicon. That was when a clawed hand, made out of pages, reached out and grabbed Jacob's head, pulling it in so he rapped his forehead against the book painfully. Jacob grimaced, then shoved a lightning bolt of dark origins into the book and it seemed to squeal, retracting the hand.) Jacob: Better. (He got back to work and then declared, after a few moments, that the job was completed.) Jacob: Actually, it's still a little bastard, but it won't bite the hand that feeds it any longer, including caster. (And, strangely enough, he hands the book back! What the hell?! Dominic was seriously glaring at Jacob at this point, but his second-sight was working again, so he could now see how they would leave this place!) Dominic: Looks like the book itself can open up the pathway to your home. It's a vortex that sucks you up and transports you to other places. It has a relation to the Banishment spell, but is really a conduit from world to world. |

Maybe if the situation had been different she would have found room to laugh at Jacob’s misfortune, but she didn’t. She did however quirk an eyebrow, and frown slightly at the book’s odd behavior. At least it wasn’t trying to dismember him like it did Jake. Whatever he did to it must have worked; the book didn’t look to have any more thoughts on attacking. Diana hoped that he didn’t completely kill it off though. For some reason it seemed right for the book to have it’s own essence of life to it, but she wasn’t an expert on the subject at all so maybe that was just speculation. Jacob’s comment about it being a ‘little bastard’ made her smirk. Maybe hadn’t been wrong in her thinking after all. When Jacob handed the book back she didn’t think twice about taking it, walking it back over to Jake and holding it out to him. Upon hearing Dominic, she looked over at him, a clearly perplexed look crossing her face. She was about at her limit for strange things today. What he just said didn’t make any sense to her, but she hadn’t really been listening. The only thing she grasped was vortex, the rest might as well of been alien. She didn’t really care how stupid she looked at the moment. No one had ever expected her to be a mystic, so what if she didn’t understand the concepts of magic and sorcery, or necromancy for that matter. Looking to Jake, she bit at her bottom lip for a moment before sighing. “I hope you understood all that.” |

“I hope you understood all that.” (Jake looked over at her, smiling as he took the Necronomicon back.) Jake: Oh yeah. I got it. (He checked it for residual patterns of Jacob's energy, traps, hidden spells, wads of chewing gum - anything out of the ordinary. He found none, and he found that Jacob Deegan was grinning. The only trick he'd pulled was no trick at all, which was really getting people jumpy, much to his amusement. Jake opened the book, found the page he wanted, and began to recite the spell to open the vortex that would lead them home. Jacob stepped back, knowing what would happen. Dominic stood back, definitely knowing what would happen. Spark...was content to sit and watch from the table. Hey, he's a cat. Go figure. Then...) Jake: Cand- Oh, whoops. One to many "Candas"... (Dominic slapped himself in the face in disgust and Jacob merely smirked. The vortex opened right through the roof of the house and sucked up Jake and Diana without too much difficulty.) Spark: COOL! Dominic: It is not cool. Jacob: Well, I'll be seeing you, Dominic. Dominic: Hold it, Jacob. I know you better than they do. There's no way you would have simply helped them without helping yourself to something. (Jacob Deegan did certainly put on a vicious grin before speaking...) Jacob: You should relax, Dominic. I didn't take anything from them. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to plan a little trip... (The necromancer stepped outside and sank into the ground, leaving the area. Dominic used his second-sight to see what it was that he was planning. When he saw and understood, he was heard to shout, "I KNEW IT!!!" very loudly, several times in rapid succession. Jacob had now learned the way to travel to plane of death in which the spirits of the Necronomicon hail from.) OOC: To be continued in the dormish areas, right back where we started...ish. |
