The garden. Zlex had found the air very sweet and cool. She sauntered around as her eyes fell upon a beautiful tiny bird. These were the many things she didn't miss about her home planet...the birds so strong within their flight, elegant flowers blooming in the sun, sweet winds carrying her burdens away...

Her footsteps paused as she watched the bird for a moment or two longer. The bird seemed to notice her presence and took off into the clear blue sky. A slight smile formed upon her lips before she walked on. Zlex kneeled on the grass in front of a few beautiful healthy flowers with her white billowing dress clouded around her. Her pale white hands slowly reached out to touch the petals. Yet, a second before her fingers could brush against it, the flower wilted and died. A look of bewilderment was plastered on her face as she brought her hand back to examine it. Then, she tried again to touch the petals of another flower. Again, the flower wilted and died.

Her eyes widened and a look of shock resided as she tried over and over again. Every time, the result was the same; the flower wilted and died. She reached out once more with her delicate hands.

A slight shriek escaped her. Her white soft hands were covered with a sickly red fluid. Blood...it was blood. It couldn't be her blood. No, this was the color of a human's blood. Her blood was a silver blue, not red in any sense of the word. Her body began quivering. Blood.

Footsteps sounded behind her. Someone else was there. But who? Zlex slowly and cautiously turned her head. Her eyes met those of a lady. The lady's eyes were golden with a purple hue around pupils so small, that there seemed to be none. Black leather pants and jacket hugged her body and white pure hair like that of Zlex cascaded down her legs. This lady was truly a sight to behold with a very seductive walk that could kill any man. Her footsteps stopped when she arrived right next to Zlex. A laughter too maniacal to sound natural peirced the air as Zlex looked back down at her bloodsoaked hands. Fear was too simplistic to describe the way Zlex felt.

The figure above her grabbed Zlex's neck in a grip too tight for her to breathe. "I'll come for you." The figure's voice murmured in a sick melodic tone. "I'll come for you yet, sister. And when I do.....You will die....you will die." Again, the maniacal laughter. The figure unsheathed a sword and held it in front of Zlex for her to see. "I come for you.... I come for you..."...

Her heart had never pounded faster before. Zlex opened her eyes forcefully and gripped her neck to loose the hands of a person who was never there. Sweat resided on her face and arms. Her white dress was clouded around her and her hands lay two inches away from a very beautiful flower. Her breathing slowed with time. Had it all been a dream? How did she get here? No blood could be found...She slowly reached out to touch a petal. The flower didn't wilt. In fact, her touch didn't affect it at all...a few tears ran down her cheeks as she folded her arms and rocked herself back and forth, still kneeling in front of the beautiful patch of flowers before her....

Serren walked into the garden her arms folded neatly at her lap as she walked. Her bright pink dress flowing in the wind behind her. She let a small tear slip past her eyes as she herself was trying to recover from her own sadness, the garden had been the best place to do that or so she thought. When she saw the other girl in front of the flowers she smiled. Serren walked over to the girl until she stood behind her folding her hands.

”Hello, I’m sorry if I am disturbing anything, but my name is Serrena.”

She smiled as she sat down on the nearest bench which was about 2 feet to the right of Zlex, she just smiled as she sat down on the bench.

Two awkwardly dull violet eyes glanced up at Serrena. Pain was written all over the alien's face as her voice, low and light, rumbled out.

"Zlex...Marski..." Was all that she could muster to kick out of her system. The clear image of her sister loomed still within her view and the aftershock that remained dealt no kinder than the dream itself. The wind blew at Zlex's hair and she shivered lightly as it passed.

"Nice...to meet you..." She sounded much different from her original self; as if the real Zlex had vanished into the depths of imagination. She looked more like a ghost now....there was no enthusiasm in her voice or her looks. It was a very pitiful sight to see, indeed....that is, if you knew Zlex and how she'd normally operate to introductions...

Serren blinked softly at the pale empty voice of the girl. She was concerned; perhaps she had indeed disrupted something very personal to her. She couldn’t help but kneel down next to the girl and give her a comforting hug. She didn’t know rather it was acceptable or not but that is what her heart told her to do.

”Are you ok?”

She raised a curious eyebrow as she let go of Zlex and sat back on her legs. She felt so hurt for some reason as if the other girl’s pain was hers. She sighed and looked down at her hands, which had the metallic gloves on. She removed the first glove and then the other. Small little holes where wires had gone into her skin to connect to her

The hug felt like nothing other than the wind. Nothing in the world could comfort her now. Not after something like this happened. Her stare was blank and she made no effort to hug back by any means.

Was she ok? That was a question that even she could not answer. She glanced down at Serrena's hands and decided to change the direction of conversation.

"What happened....to your hands?" She managed to ask. Her thoughts were still in disarray as she scrambled to get her words out into whole sentences. She had never seen anything like the small holes in Serrena's hands. That was one thing about Zlex; you couldn't destroy her curiosity. That's what made Zlex who she was. She didn't think by any means that Serrena's hands were no good. It was simply a matter of wonderment. Just a question to distract Serrena from who Zlex was. It was always that way....talking about others to avoid talking too much about herself. Sure, she'd tell you what happened years ago during the time of the great genocide but she'd rarely tell you who she was now. How could she? In order to do that, she'd have to mention her brother Zelothece and her sister Zlax. Explaining herself was impossible without mentioning them...

Serren looked down at her hands then to Zlex then to her hands. Nothing really had been wrong with her hands but why did she seem so curious. It was like she was instantly over her own problems and refocused onto Serren’s hands. Serren shrugged it off and smiled at her moving her fingers around and moving her hands around.

”Don’t worry its just where the wires from my gloves go into my hands and connect to my Nerve endings to allow me use of my gloves.”

Zlex wanted to tell Serrena that she wasn't worried at all....just wondered about it. It was the same thing with her arrows and her bow. People got curious about them; they didn't look exactly like those made or used by humans.

In fact, the only other thing that ran through Zlex's mind was Terra. See, this is when Terra would probably ask Serrena what her special ability was. And because she couldn't think of anything else to add to the conversation, she did what Terra would do.

"So, what's your power? I hear everyone here has at least one." She mentioned avoiding further eye contact with this new individual....

Serren smiled as he pulled out one glove and slid it back on over her hand as it made a whirring noise and the sound of skin being punctured could be heard and Serren slightly gasped in pain she looked at Zlex and smiled as she held out her hand. A Small ball of energy started to form above her glove, which she then smiled and threw it backwards as a couple of benches and a flowerbed, got sucked up into the orb and then thrown back out and the orb disappeared.

”This glove makes a orb of gravity and the other makes a flash of light blinding to anyone who doesn’t close and cover their eyes.

She smiled softly before looking at Zlex as she grunted softly pulling her glove off the holes had increased considering new holes were made to fit the glove a second time. She smiled.

The presentation brought back the uncomfortable image of her hands doused in blood. She shuddered at the thought and decided it best to leave it far behind with the rest of the memories that mirrored it. Zlex glanced down for a moment before returning her posture to Serrena.

"It doesn't hurt when you do that?" She asked more out of loss of words than from pure curiosity. To be bluntly honest, Zlex wasn't there. Physically, yes, but her mind was elsewhere.

It was wandering in a sky light purple with the thin gray clouds caressing the night. The blue grassy plains with such light and delicate swaying motions in the cool dancing wind. A tune so beautiful that it would be a sin to capture. The hushed murmurs of the playing children who begged to keep their secrets away from all strangers. A place that she had once escaped for another....A place that she now longed for. A place whose name was only a whisper gone unheard of and untamed to any ear....any ear who didn't know, that was. Rustling water nearby....wasn't that the waterfall that had for so long provided her with a place to hide....the beautiful....

If one were to ask her anything that had been said for the past five minutes, Zlex wouldn't know at all. That was one thing that she could do; listen and yet not listen, there but not there, interested....but dreaming....
