Sage: "So why do you need to go to this class mate? Thought you could speak the language well enough."
Seiji: "Yeah, but I can always use a refresher course now and then."

Shrugging his shoulders, Sage just went along with that answer as they walked into class. He had heard the hesitations that his siblings has about him before, but he looked like an alright enough person. He did tend to speak to himself a bit though. In fact...

Seiji: "Yes, I did bring everything I needed... I'm sure I got enough sleep... I know I haven't been bugging Ayato or Miyu, and I don't expect you to either."
Sage: "Uh, gov... you're speaking to yourself again."
Seiji: "Huh? No I'm not. I'm speaking to him."

Seiji actually pointed to what appeared to be nothing, but in all actuality, he was pointing to his guardian spirit, who at the moment, had a look of confusion on his face as well. If Sage couldn't see him, most likely he wasn't attuned to the spiritual plane like his shaman was.

Ryusei: Seiji-kun... I don't think he can see me...
Seiji: "Oh yeah... I keep forgetting about that..."

*While this was going on, Mr. Yamada was practically running out the door and driving pretty fast to get to the school. Last time he had taken part in the student-teaching program he got cut out of the faculty after only one class, and to put it simply, this time around, because of that, he's a bit of a nervous wreck. Over the past semester, he had tried to think about what he did wrong, even though, unknown to him, it most likely was not him as a teacher that was the reason for his student-teaching being cancelled the previous semester ... he had not really been able to think of anything. At least over the summer he decided to take his mind off of things -- he had decided to try out for a play and managed to make it in; in fact, he had the lead role. He also played baseball during that semester, his flexibility and speed digging the team out of a hole every so often. Unfortunately, the summer went by way too quickly, and he had to face the harsh "reality" (or so he thought) that he had to somehow shape up before he began teaching again. However, on his drive there, his mind seems so focused on how not to screw up that he could barely pay attention to the road, causing a few near-misses. He finally reaches the school, luckily about 10 minutes early, giving him time to collect his thoughts and to calm down a bit before starting class.*

YAMADA: *to himself, still in his car:* Okay ... just calm down. It's a new semester; this is a new group of students and possibly a different administration, but even not, you have another chance to do things right.

*After taking a quick breather, he takes his materials, gets out of the car and walks into the classroom, where he writes his name on the board in roomaji and in kanji. (Pic. 1) He also writes the word "nihongo" [Japanese] on the board in both hiragana and kanji. (Pic 2) He then waits for the students to enter the room and for the bell to ring, signalling him to begin.

Daisuke had this time managed to leave himself enough time to get to class on time. He had ended up late the last couple of times, and he didn't want to do it again. Of course, this time he was REALLY concerned about getting there on time; he had never had this teacher before, so he didn't know what to expect, but he did know one thing ... some of the teachers at AHS were a little ... off their rocker, so who knows how this teacher would be -- for all Daisuke knows the teacher could be a gun-toting maniac or something. Even if not, Daisuke couldn't take the chance of making a bad first impression. He sits down in a seat a few rows back and waits for class to start.

Ken'ichi, also having never had the class before, didn't know where the room was. He, however, knew this ahead of time since he had also never taken this class before, so he left himself a bit more time than usual to find his way to class. He eventually did find it -- luckily a couple of minutes BEFORE the start of class instead of after -- and then sat down in the row behind Daisuke.*

At first it didn't seem like Andrew was going to come. However, that was a complete fallacy. In reality, he had been feeling a little bad with a stomach bug. He wasn't going to miss class though. Unless something really bad happened, he wasn't going to miss it whatsoever. He slowly made his way to the classroom with an almost green complexion and slumped into the front row. With him, he had brought two things: the first thing was obvious. It was a note pad and a couple pens to work with along with a book on the Japanese language. The other thing was a rather huge bucket used for well...with the stomach virus and everything on him going south, it's kind of a given what he needed it for.

Rem sighed, knowing full well why he needed to attend this class and yet dreading the action of doing so anyways. Yes, he was a fluent speaker of Japanese, and yes, he could read it quite well... but Rem had discovered a problem in his history class. It turned out their were quite a few characters that he did not know, and quite a few words that he had trouble writting due to being left handed. This class was not just a reminder of his langauge, it had to be his perfection. Still though, he was dreading the moment when the teacher would turn to him and ask him to write several characters on the board... he truly and utterly did not want to do this at all. He would make an embarrassment of himself, of his master also.

He sighed, realizing that at least his lack of sleep due to worry had given him plenty of time to look fresh for class. His uniform was perfect in all manners of the word, not a single stain or wrinkle dared to show itself. Rem's hair was combed back and tied off to form the long ponytail it normally did, and today he chose to wear some complementary reading glasses that were in the same shape as his regular half moon sunglasses. His books were kept neatly in his carrying bag, perfectly organized and clean like the rest of him.

However, our would be student today was armed not with his regular kodachi, but large a large cup of very strong tea in his left hand. The aroma was nice, even at being half gone, and if gave him a beautiful gift that he had only recently discovered: caffiene. Since he had ditched Science class due to a lack of understanding (and sleeping through) it, Rem was entirely determined to be as awake as possible without sleep for this class.

He entered the classroom quitely, giving the teacher a nod and going to sit at a desk. He quickly noticed a rather sickly looking boy and made a sidestep toeard the back avoid him, winding up at a desk beside another student he did not know. He gave a small bow toward Daisuke and asked rather quietly, "Do you mind if this one sits here?"

(She stepped into the classroom, knowing that it was for a class in which she had already great experience from. Being one who has grown up on this island, it was unimportant for her to learn the Japanese language because it was already known to her. You didn't get very far in Japan in the more ancient times without mastering this tongue. Of course, to be fair, her father was more of a European, really. Still, that did not deter her. It was her intention to come, but not so much for the class, as there was a prime oppurtunity to be had here.)

"Konnichiwa, Ryusei-sama. I trust you are well today?"

(Of course, to the casual observer, it would appear that a woman with brown hair, a black shirt, and gray pants were addressing thin air. On the spiritual plain, however, it would be clear to Ryusei that he was being directly addressed by a three-tailed spirit kitsune. One whom is known to the world as Rish Govani, but not known to this dragon spirit. Rish gave off a smile that could not quite be read, and realized her mistake.)

Rish: Forgive the intrusion. I've heard of you, but we have never met before. I'm curious about the presence of such beings as ourselves in a place like this.

(Meanwhile, two others just entered the room. It seemed to Rish that those two seemed to get along very well, though they were so different from each other. Consider...both Som Lugoti and Haruko Montoya were small in stature, but Haruko had three years on Som AND was the successor to some highly deadly martial arts techniques. Som was a neko and Haruko was a human. Som had...demon in her too. That was odd...)

Som: You mean you can speak Japanese...but you can't read or write it?

Haruko: Not very well. There wasn't much time for that. To understand was enough, and then I had to move on.

Som: How come?

Haruko: It's...nothing you should concern yourself with.

((Sorry that this is so short...But my characters aren't all that happy about all of these classes.))

Zoan and Violin came walking in, and as if in a mirror image, walked up 2 rows of chairs, right next to eachother, sat in chairs that were right next to eachother, and fell asleep at the same time.

They didn't really like learning a new language..the only class that either of them may of been interested in would be the Speical Powers/Self-Defense Classes...Which neither of them was sure they were to have this year...None the less, they still slept through this class with no problem.

Where was everyone today? James usually did not skip classes, but relearning basic Japanese was rather… dull in any mind set for those that actually knew the language or took the time to actually learn the language of the school they were attending. Some people were just rather brain dead when it came to matters of importance like actually being somewhat cultured in the society that one lived. He figured it was much better to stay in the library and try to keep Emma quiet about not being able to see any of the cat girls because James was being lazy. Lazy? No. Smart? Most likely as the case would have been rather redundant in his learning of how to say “Good morning” and learn to count to 10. That was rather remedial and left for the foreign students that were dense.

Lindsey was very much the same as James was. Rather apathetic about having to waste her time in a remedial Japanese class. She had lived in Japan her entire life and had taken courses from the time she started school. Maybe if the class was a little more evenly spread she would have went, but if they were just going to go over remedial Japanese then she could find a better waste of her time.

Aura was not there as well. She was fluent in Japanese as well and had more important matters to attend to on the set that day. How could she pay for the classes if she did not work for them? They had found a rather spooky looking little hut on the outskirts of Tokyo that was said to be possessed by a rather angry spirit. So with a camera crew in tow she had went out to the outskirts of Tokyo to see if the rumors were true or if she would be playing Scooby Doo. Not that she knew who Scooby Doo was, but just stating the obvious fact that the American boys had dubbed her a member of the mystery crew.

Shireen… oh poor Shireen. Whether it nobler in mind to go to class or sleep the day away. Quite frankly I think it the latter personally and quite frankly so did she. The class bell would probably ring and she would probably turn over once or twice. Without anyone to wake her up she would probably just sit peacefully under the desk sleeping in her little container as she did so often. A peaceful dreamy slumber it was as well. Dreams of magic and happiness flooded her mind as she was just about to the point of falling out of bed. Happiness was a curious thing in dreams.

Kiocuv however was very much present in the class. She wore her little skirt that she did not much care for, but she was not one to disobey orders, especially after a certain happening with her father that had seemed to separate the two of them indefinitely. It was not something that she cared even with her apathetic roommate, but there were many things that she did not care to discuss. One of them was her inability to read. All of the foreign characters were impossible to decipher. They looked like complete nonsense. English, Japanese, French, German, and especially Spanish were all terrible, terrible, languages. They lacked the fluidity and texture that her own language had. She could speak all of them easy enough thanks to a little help from an ancient Kukrioshi spell, but it did not help that she could not read the languages of this planet. It certainly made it rather hard for her to find anything that she was looking for.

She scanned the classroom walking by the two apathetic boys that had already decided to sleep with their chairs. Well unluckily for them she did not approve of dissent and decided to spark their learning drives. Their chairs were very prime targets. She sat down and looked at one of the boy’s chairs and focused on the chairs leg. Energy began to flux rather quickly into the chairs leg making it rather unstable. The energy flowed in and out moving rapidly until… she let it go and a mild burst and a blue light emitted from the chair taking removing the leg from existence completely or at least in such tiny shards that no one would be able to find it and put it back together again. The chair would certainly fall over taking one of the boys with it. It was a fast process for such a small little object so the other boy, if he had not awoke from his double falling over would certainly be awakened by the fact that his chair was unable to sustain his weight.

((In a whole lot of Barney.))

Lupis walked into class with an air of detached, vague disinterest. He spoke Japanese well enough to survive around AHS, and though he knew he could always use some help reading it, he could never seem to interest himself in the language classes of AHS.
"Why are the years all in one class like this?"
Lupis glanced down at his short, redheaded companion -- Harker Jone, his roommate.
"No clue," he said. "I was here maybe a month last time before I had to go home."
The younger student seemed to think that since Lupis had been at AHS previously, however short the time, that he was privy to the inner workings of the school.

Lina walked into the classroom and took a seat near the back of the classroom. She knew she should probably learn as much Japanese as she could, given that she was going to be here for a while, but as with all her classes, she failed to generate any real interest.

Kammy hurried into the classroom, her blonde hair flying behind her. *Oh please say Im not late to class, It's totally not like me to be late.*

She quickly sat in her seat and put her head down for a second to take a breather. Kammy then put her head back up and looked around, to see who was her classmates were. She then spotted Lupis and his roomate.

She waved to them,"Hey Lupis, and um.....I kinda forgot your name. Sorry." Kammy said as she looked at them both.

"Quite all right," Harker said, sitting down. "It's Harker."
"Um, are you Kammryn or Jessica?" Lupis looked apologetic as he sat. "I can't tell you apart..."
There were, he knew, very slight differences between the two sisters. Unfortunately, his memory wasn't good enough to differentiate between the two of them yet -- whether it would have been better if both of them had been present, he didn't know.

Zlex made her way into the class. Japanese? She had just mastered english and already a new language was to be forced upon her. Her clear white hair was restrained by two white ribbons forming a pair of ponytails that trailed past her hip. Two brilliant violet eyes scanned the room for a moment before the pale uncomfortable individual sat herself in the front row.

The outfit that she was made to wear no longer felt horrible against her body. Yet, the feeling of being tainted had not been removed nor did the color of the uniform. Still, she would never give up her custom of only wearing white. School uniforms were the only exception.

Of course Madame had told her that she would eventually have to learn Japanese as well....but still....did it have to be this early in her arrival? She wasn't fully comfortable with english yet although that was hard to catch by many. She had wished that her first language would have been good enough....little did she know of the earthly ways.

Perhaps class wouldn't be bad afterall. Learning Japanese couldn't be that harsh on her....she hoped. If she thought that she had a choice, she wouldn't have come to class at all. But that was such a cheap way out of it. Better to try and fail than to give up. A slight sigh escaped her as she eyed the board. What the heck was that?...

San entered the room, slightly cheerful about this class. It was a favorite of hers, language classes. She didn't forget about her uniform problem.. Infact, she went out and bought a Boy's Uniform because she was deathly sick of that damn skirt.

This is one of those rare times she wanted to be noticed, even by the teacher. Maybe she would get away with it, no matter. She ran in the back passing a sleepy Zoan whom she had met before adn went all the way to the back.

Carrying her little bag, San pulled out a notebook and began writing the stuff down. Muttering stuff in Japanese to catch the eye of the teacher, maybe he would be impressed.

*Daisuke sees Rem walking towards him and asking him if he could sit next to him. He, of course, had no problem with that at all. ^_^*

DAISUKE: I don't mind at all!

*Meanwhile, the bell had finally rung. Mr. Yamada suddenly feels a burst of extreme nervousness -- it was time for him to start, and he didn't want to meet the same fate that he met last time. So, he figures as long as he teaches the material AND makes it fun, it should be all right. So, he begins.*

YAMADA: Konnichi wa! (OOC- Assuming it's the afternoon) I am Mr. *He walks over to the board where his name is written and stretches his arm completely around his own back so that he's pointing to the characters of his name from behind his back. Surprisingly, it's still clearly visible.* YAMADA Jun'ichi, but you can call me Yamada-sensei. By the time this class is over, depending on your skill level, you will hopefully know what either three or all four of those kanji mean. Now, I do realise that there are some of you who are completely fluent and some of you who have never spoken a word of it other than words like "sushi."

*As he does this, his eyes and ears kinda "scan" the room to see who among them was paying attention and to possibly notice the level of one or two of the students. The first thing he notices is two students sleeping, but that was quickly solved when the two of them suddenly fell over. He also sees that one student does not appear to be feeling too well -- of course, he would not stop the student from leaving if his illness became too much for him to handle. He then does catch some mumbling in Japanese -- she must be one of the advanced students. He does look up at her. He continues on, not realising that out of sheer nervousness he's talking rather fast (though still audible).*

YAMADA: To make this as fair as possible, I will spend some of the time as what for some of you would be a review and for others would be completely new. For those of you who know the language well, don't worry; I am also going to devote some time to advanced-level Japanese, so for those of you just starting out, don't worry too much about getting lost as I will take into account your skill levels when grading, and those of you who are fluent, a lot of this will be thing you already know, but who knows? You just might recall something that slipped your mind. ^_^ Now, to start this off, I think a good way to test your skill levels would be for you to write a self-introduction; that way I can know you better and you can show me what you know. Use as much Japanese as you know, since this way I can guage the level of knowledge you have so we can go as far as we can and don't end up in a situation where I never teach you anything you don't already know -- well, unless you're fluent, in which case this class shouldn't be too hard. If you don't know a word in Japanese -- or even a word OF Japanese -- you can write it in English, Spanish or whatever language you're most comfortable with. This isn't graded, but it's best to do your best so I know where to start with each of you. Also, let me take this time to point out ... *He does a backflip onto the desk and stretches his arm an inhuman amount to point to the very top of the board, where he had written his hours and contact information* that you can reach me at the times listed on the board at the number also listed on the board. You can also leave a message outside those times or e-mail me, and I'll be glad to help in any way possible. *He grabs several pieces of paper and a few boxes of pencils, jumps high into the air, off the desk and right in front of the front row of students, then quickly hands them each a sheet of paper and a pencil. Once he gets to the very back, he runs back to behind the desk.* I'll give you about five minutes ... and BEGIN !!!

*Daisuke quickly scribbles down information about his name, his dorm, his phone number and the comment "I bet I could jump further than that," all in Japanese. He writes as quickly as possible; his handwriting is somewhat sloppy but he cares more about how much he can impress the teacher with his knowledge of Japanese than how pretty the characters look.

Ken'ichi starts writing, though after putting down his name and e-mail address, he then starts writing a small amount of background about himself, followed by "I was wondering ... I'm still a single guy. Try as I may, I cannot seem to get a girlfriend. Do you, by any chance, have any dating tips?" Yes, under normal circumstances it would be odd to ask a teacher for dating tips, but this guy's still college-age, so he figures it's fine.*

(OOC- I will continue on within about 24 hours whether you all have made a post in response to this or not -- earlier if most or all of you have. Also, for those of you who cannot figure out how to say something in Japanese but your character would know it maybe indicate somehow that it is in Japanese.)

San blinked a bit, it’s true she spoke Japanese.. but she couldn’t speak the entire language yet. Looking down at the paper, she began a few sentences..

“こんいちわ やまだーせんせい。。。” –which had been scribbled out as a result of bad habit, used to writing in ink so she tends to NOT erase things. Under it she began something else.
“あいすクリいめ ガ ほしい です。。。” Quite amusing, but she did want some right about now.. She quickly scribbled it out when she re-reads the sentence and how random it was.

"こんいちわ やまだーせんせい。 わたくし の なまえ わ サン です。 ほんお すこし できます そして にほんご(grammar/sentences) わ あまり よく わかりません。 わたし の たんじょおび わ じゅうがつ ふつか です。 (I know many words and numbers by themselves, but I have trouble putting sentences together.)"

San sat back and stared at her paper and nodded, that was the best she could do. She wrote it all in hiragana because she didn’t know any kanji and katakana wasn’t appropriate. Nervously, she pulled her ponytail over her shoulder and played with her hair, braiding it and what not.

Wow, what a suck up San can be in some classes..

((Sorry this took me so long..))

It was Zoan's chair that "fell apart." He landed on the ground with a rather large thud. Violin woke up because of the ruckus, but soon fell back asleep.

Zoan on the other hand...He got up, whipped his rear-end clean, and found another chair to sit down in. It was closer to the back of the classroom, but he didn't mind. He took a seat, and put his head in his arms, and soon enough, was dozing off once again, as the teacher told them to write introductions, so he could get to know them better. To say the least, neither Zoan or Violin did the assignment.

OOC: I, personally, can't do crap for Japanese. But since this is characters we're talking about, figure that I'm just giving you English translations.

IC>>>>>

(A challenge, eh? The teacher wanted to know just how skilled the class was in Japanese. Thus, they were instructed to start writing and talking in Japanese. This was, of course, not very hard for Rish at all. She grew up in this area, so she did it all very well. In five minute's time, Rish would have a comprehensive introduction to Naruto in her hand. She snickered at the part about Kyubi no Kitsune (("Nine-Tailed Demon Fox")). Haruko had more difficulty in this, though. She was just barely able to write down (("Many apologies for my lack of skill. I learned the Japanese language faster than I did the writing.")). And as for Som, she could barely string two sentences together in writing or in spoken word. She did, however, manage to write a big kanji symbol for anger or rage, and held it up in obvious frustration, as if it were a sign.)

What could she possibly do in this situation? The blank page of loose leaf just looked back her taunting her. Its quiet mocking continued as many of the other students went off to writing down tidbits on the paper. She understood what she had to do, but other then copying some of the varied languages that existed about there was no possible way he would understand any thing she could actually write to him. Picking up the paper she looked around the room to try and decide what she could possibly do in order to fulfill his request. Could she possible disobey such a simple order from him? He was not a superior from back home, but due to the fact that she was probably not going back home she had to try. It was only proper to do so. She set it back down and picked up the pencil and quickly began to scratch something down on the paper.

The characters flowed downward in orientation and continued as she fulfilled the requirement. It would look like gibberish to anyone not off planet. The Kukrioshi language was rather recognizable as its characters combined rigid and circular characters and was a rather artsy from of lettering. Not as complicated as kanji, but probably about somewhere between katakana and hiragana. That however did not matter as she took special care to make sure everything was perfect. It probably make her look like she was crazy, but the entire paper was quickly filled with a rather odd character set mixed with bits and pieces of what little English and Japanese she had actually managed to pick up. It read as follows:

Kiocuv Geriny
Suzaku

I must apologize for my inability to write in any other fashion. This is the language I was taught as a child and the only one I know how to use. It may seem odd to you why I am writing in such odd characters, but I feel obligated to complete any task given to me no matter how foolish the consequences are. I suppose that is something rather odd, but I do not imagine you understand this let alone my convictions to fulfilling this assignment you have presented me with. Consider it a test of my honor to see if I can actually allow myself to follow any order no matter how trivial. It seems I have done just that. Allow me to offer you a little bit of advice now that I have completed your assignment. You must be less lenient with your students. It is the only way they will possibly learn anything. Such a lax environment will only teach them to be lazy and not anything about your complex gibberish of a language. If you require it I do not feel terribly troubled if you would like me to personally punish students for such behavior if you feel not so inclined to do so yourself. I have faced it before and you would be surprised to see the great affect it could have on students.

It was a massive piece of loosed leaf gibberish really. She meant every word of it however, but there would be a few things that everyone would be able to distuguish. Suzaku was written in Japanese with the Kanji she had taken to heart in order to avoid situations like this. Her room and telephone number were also in normal digits, but many of them had their more circular parts replaced with points instead just due to her general confusion of the numbering system.

(OOC: Go figure, I can do hours of research to form my own magic class, but I'm useless when it comes to making attempts at learning Japanese. I should be beaten by a large anime fan stick :( )

Rem took his seat next to Daisuke, and caught the paper and pencil with little effort as it was tossed to him. He sighed out of the realization that the first thing he was being asked to do was indeed his absolute worst understanding of Japanese. This of course meant that it took hima good amount of time to form the characters that he was writing, possibly longer than the professor could would have wanted him to take.

*Good morning sir, my name is Remeium but this one prefers to go by Rem. As you can probably tell, this one's character writting is slightly off and in need of help, which is why he am attending this class so eagerly yes indeed.*

He was planning to go on, but according his calculations the five minutes was up. "This one could sure use practice at writting, that he could yes indeed..." He muttered just audibly by accident. Since Rem had trained under the legendary Takoshin, he had unfortunately gained a bad speech habit of speaking about himself in the third person, and droning on a bit when a simple yes or no would surfice. Needless to say, the largest challenges are not so much those who do not know the language, but those who know it wrong.

A deep sigh escaped Zlex as she was handed paper and a pencil. Oh, there was no extent to the embarrassment that she felt at this moment. Despite the teacher allowing them to write in any language most comfortable, she was sure that he didn't want her to write in her own language. This language was only written and spoken on her home planet. How was he supposed to know what she was writing?

Half of the time had to be up already and all she had done so far was stare at the paper and rumage through her mind for what to do. This should have been rather simple...why not just write it in English? Still, the feeling of inferiority was overwhelming and it seemed to swallow her. She didn't want to write in English...but she just couldn't bring herself to write in her own language. This was torture. Oh why did they torment her so?

About a minute left and still nothing fell upon the sheet in front of her. Not a word poured out of her thoughts into the lead in the pencil. Her hand was paralyzed an inch above the paper with the pencil in position....yet still....she couldn't.....wouldn't....

My name is Zlex. I don't belong here. I would have to say that I am truly sorry for not being one of those who understands this language. I wish to learn it, yes, but I don't think that it would be a thrilling experience to me. I don't like writing in English either, yet I didn't want to assume that it was alright to use Hashinaren in my paper.

Her grip around the pencil lightened. The heat within her face that had flushed the paleness to bright red had slowly passed. The handwriting was evidence that Zlex had been shaking while she wrote....yet.... English...it was written in English. She was quite amazed that she had wrote anything. In fact, she didn't remember a word that she wrote. Thus, she reread it. Oh how she wished she weren't here. This was almost as bad as trying to learn English all over again. Somehow, she'd managed to write that short introduction before the time was up...yet how she was able to do so was beyond her...

Darksong: o.o get outtah mah head!

Andrew wasn't really one to be able to write down any sentence in Japanese. However, thanks to his time reading sinfest, he had learned a few of the kanji. God I hope the teacher doesn't get offended by anything that I say he thought to himself. He first wrote a sentence in english stating that he only knew a few words in the form of kanji, and he hoped that he did it right. Using his pen, he painstakingly made different kanji that he could remember off the top of his head.

Balthazar showed up to class unusually late, and figured he would get in trouble for it but sat down in the back of the class anyways. He wasnt known for his skill in languages. He knew English and that was about it, and so shrugging he looked up to the front of the class and gave an I'm sorry I'm late look.

*After the five minutes are up, Mr. Yamada practically jumps out of his chair and does a flip onto the desk. He then announces to the class ...*

YAMADA: Okay, time's up ^_^ I will be collecting your papers now.

*He begins running through the class, taking the papers when the students hand them to him, and exchanges them with a handout containing numerous Japanese words and phrases. He manages to get this done rather quickly; he's still somewhat nervous, but he's doing a good job of covering it up. Then again, he always has been known for being rather ... on the upbeat side, to say the least. Once he finishes collecting the papers, he quickly reads through all of them, able to tell within seconds how he would need to proportion the class time.*

YAMADA: Nice work, all of you. Now that we have that out of the way, let us start with our first lesson.

*He returns to in front of the blackboard, picks up a piece of chalk, jumps up high to reach the top of the board and starts quickly writing a few common Japanese phrases in kana and in roomaji for those who couldn't read kana. Within about five seconds, the board is filled up with various Japanese expressions.*

YAMADA: Don't be overwhelmed by this huge list -- you won't have to memorise all this at once -- in fact, this is all on the handouts that I passed out to you. We'll start this class off like any other class would, with some ways of greeting people. Now, you'll notice that I put four different greetings up on the board. Do any of you know the difference between the four?

[On the blackboard/handout:

"Oh it's Harker, I'll have to remember that."

"And Im Kammy, I see how you got me and my sister confused."

Kammy then sighed, "It happens all the time."

Her attention then went back at the board, and looked at what Mr.Yamada wrote on the board. *Oh my gosh, this looks hard, I knew I should'nt have been born in America.*

Lupis had managed to pick up most of the phrases on the board during his previous time at AHS, but only in spoken form. He scribbled out the kanji and their translations into a binder, in handwriting that was probably only readable by him. He was rather proud of his handwriting - he had cultivated it into a chickenscratch that was almost as unreadable as the Navajo wind-talker code used during the second World War. He didn't delude himself by thinking that anyone really wanted to read what he wrote, but if someone was going to read something of his, he wanted it to be because he let them.
Harker copied down the information on the board quickly and neatly, trying to get the kanji as close to Mr Yamada's as he could.
"At least you have a sister to be confused with," he said ruefully in his light British accent. "I'm an only child."

*Mr. Yamada was a bit surprised that no one was able to -- or willing to -- answer the question. However, Daisuke ahd figured he'd given everyone else a chance. Now it was his turn to show what he's got. He raises his hand.*

YAMADA: Kobayashi?
DAISUKE: "Ohayou" is used in the morning, "konnichi wa" during the day, "konban wa" in the evening and "moshi moshi" over the phone.
YAMADA: That is correct! Moshi moshi can be used at any time over the phone, but the other three depend on the time of day.

*As he is about to continue the lesson, the bell rings. Mr. Yamada's somewhat surprised, as the time that went by seemed a lot shorter than it actually was. He looks up at the students and does a handspring off of his desk.*

YAMADA: I guess that's the end of our class! Everyone, stand -- bow -- and I hope to see you all here again next time! Bye everyone!

*He then does a backflip behind the desk and starts gathering his things as the students begin to leave the classroom. After they leave, he also leaves the room, hoping that he did a good job of teaching the class this time.*

Kammy stood and bowed, "Wow that was fast, and I can't believe that guy knew soo much Japanese."

She then picks up her books and looks over at Lupis and Harker.

"Well I have to get to my next class. It was nice seeing you guys again."

Kammy then bowed atthe two boys and hurried out the door. to her next class.
