Bale closed his eyes and pulled out his wings so they blocked the wind from his body yet allowed the moon to shine over him. Exith would soon be on his way... It had been quite some time since their encounter at the mall with a Wing Hunter.
I never told Ex who it was or what happened..... How I let my guard down that easy was a foolish move to say the least..... Balekemen's elf-like ears picked up a sound behind him, even in pre-meditative state he was ready to face any intruders.

Exith gazed up at the moon, lost in his own thougts for a moment. A lot had happened to him since his last encounter with Bale at the mall, and that mysterious attacker.
With all that had happened to exith, he had almost forgotten about that event. After all, when your half dead, you tend to only keep the thought of fighting for life in your head.
Shaking his head, and wincing at the slight pain that it caused him, his now double colored eyes scanned the mountain for any sign of Bale.
Deciding that flying would cover more ground, he quickly formed wings and took to the sky. His still rather badly wounded body didn't quiet like the strain flying caused, but he ignored it. The cool wind felt good against his skin.
The motion of Bale, pulling out his wings caught exith's attention and he landed, somewhat lightly behind him.
"Hey." He spoke quietly in a hoarsed whisper. "Long time no see." He grinned, his deep saphire eye and crimson red one, glistened in the moon.
Bandages could be seen through the openings of his clothing, wrapping tightly around his neck, and his chest.
Exith blinked a moment, and carefully ran a hand through his hair. "I ran into a little trouble." he explain towards his state of being. "But its nothing."
He studied his freind for a moment. It really had been a long time since he had last seen Bale.

Bale turned around and smiled, it was good to see a familar face. "Hey Ex, trouble you say? looks like a freight train had some fun with you." Closing his wings into his back and turning to face Exith he motioned him to sit down. Bale had some wounds of his own, most were not the physical kind but never the less they were not easily healed. "I've been gone a long time, I know... I never told anyone why I left but I think it would have been better for the school that I didn't. I'm still kinda hiding what I really am." For emphasis he pointed to his arm. Symbols ran up and down the sides of his left arm, they were all in the runic script of the Wind Dwellers. Bale also seemed paler than before. "I wish I had of told you... The one who attacked us was my best friend before my exile. My little excursion was to try to draw him away from the school... luckily I think I did just that." Pulling 2 small canteens from his belt he tossed one to Exith. "I got these from the dragoni, I met them on my way back here... You remember the luna'anu?"

Exith nodded, grinning sheepishly. he really wasn't sure what to say about Bale's comment. "Freight train." he mused before shaking his head and slowly lowering himself to the ground as Bale had motioned. "Perhaps, but it seems that you too have run into your fair share of trains as well."
He leaned back, propping himself up on his arms to listen to Bale nodding every once and a while.
He raised an eyebrow. "Hiding what you are?" he questioned before his gaze turned towards Bale's markings. Unconciously exith's hand lightly skimmed his own markings that covered his enire body, but he pushed any thought that they brought up away. They were evil things, his markings.
Exith frowned. "That was your best freind?" Confusion flickered across his voice. He opened his mouth to question more but decided against it.
Falling silent for a moment he gazed up at the sky. It wasn't like Exith was unfamiliar with friends trying to kill you.
He gave Bale a sideways glance. "You should have said something." He started. "what would have happened if you were to have gotten your self killed? No one would have known. Is that what you wanted?" He shook his head. He hadn't seen Bale in a long time, the last thing Exith wanted to do was send Bale down a guilt trip. "Sorry." he appologized. "You had your reasons."
Exith caught the canteen and studied it for a moment, his eyes widening. "From the dragoni? You mean you ran into them again?" He grinned. "How could I forget about about the luna'anu." His eyes flickered ever so slightly. "Now, I remember the luna'anu, Do you remember what we told each other? I'd watch your back if you'd watch mine?" He punched Bale lightly on the arm raisng a questioning eyebrow. "You really should have said what you were doing." He shook his head. Then again, exith was most likely in no better predicament. I guess everyone has a few skeletons in the closet

Bale nodded slowly, he realized that he was being foolish by not saying anything but this is the way that he wanted it, it was hard to describe the powers that the high council had... in their histories what had happened to tribes that had located them.... Bale shuddered uncontrollably. "He was my best friend..... I'm not entirely sure now." Bale took a sip from his canteen, and looked at Exith, his normally greyish blue eyes took a small hint of glowing blue. "It's not your fault, it's mine... I should have said something you are absolutely right... I'm sorry I kept you out of the loop...." Twitching his wings so they went back into his shoulders, he changed his form so that it imitated a forest dweller. Seemingly human with brownish skin, his fingers were longer and more narrow at the ends, his hair had the resemblance of dreadlocks and his mouth, chin and nose were somewhat pointed. Smiling he made himself a bit more comfortable, taking the punch in the arm made Bale wince a bit. Ouch... bad arm! Bale shrugged his shoulders a bit, trying to straighten his face, he didn't want to show exactly how much damage his body had taken but somehow he thought that Exith already knew from his earlier comment. "Don't worry, if there is a next time there won't be any running, we'll deal with him like we did with that parasite that tried to take your body for a test drive." Nodding slowly he took another sip and looked up at the moon. "One of them is coming to the school you know?" Bale felt a twinge of magic in his stomach, was it him again? It was too far away to tell for sure. "He said that he wanted to become a student here after the stories I told him on my way back. If you want I can introduce you to him." Bale's eyes flickered around and his ears twitched slightly... it was definitely him but did he know where Bale was?

Exith nodded gloomily. "Friends." He sighed. "Isn't it odd how a simple act, or a wrongly phrased sentence can turn the best of friends to the greatest of enemies?"
Exith studied the canteen for a moment in silence then took a swig of its contents. It hurt bad to swallow. It hurt to talk, but he was almost becoming accustomed to the pain.
A grin twitched at the corner of his mouth. He knew his one eye would be glowing blue now, but what of his other? Would it also take on a blue glow?" Red and blue mixed together makes purple. it was odd how one thought could lead to another.
He shook his head. "No, No apology is needed. Like I said before, you had your reasons."
He watched Bale change his shape with a deep fascination. Occasionally taking a sip from his canteen. Changing shape. The one skill exith seemed to not have. Well there was swimming too.
Seeing Bale wince, Exith's gaze took on a worried look. "Does changing shape like that cause you pain?" he questioned, unaware that it was his punch that had caused the damage.
He watched Bales face for a moment then shook his head. Giving the fact that it was dark, and shadows tend to play with ones mind, Exith couldn't decide if Bale was in pain, or if he was hiding something else and he really wasn't in he wasn't in a prying mood.
Exith turned his gaze up at the moon, a grin cross his face. "Ah yes the parasite." He fell silent, his smile quickly fading from his face. With a shake of his head, his face seemed to regain its cheerfulness. Somewhat. There was a strained, lost light flickering behind exith's eyes, and it wasn't from the drink.
Exith sighed and studied his hands. "I suddenly feel like an exterminator." He laughed lightly. "Getting rid of unwanted pests."
Exith's eyes widened. "One of the Dragoni is coming here? To our school?! You better believe that I'd like to meet him." Exith's eyes shimmered with the idea.
He was suddenly like a small kid on the verge of being told that he could dive into a pile of presents.
"You okay?" Exith questioned, sensing something form Bale. Was if fear?
Unconsciously exith ground his teeth; he hated how he could sense fear now. He absolutely hated it.
His head slowly swiveled, observing the shadows. There wasn’t anything out of the ordinary there. And if there was, he would know.
He turned back to Bale, eyebrow slowly rising.

Bale closed his eyes and nodded. "My exile was indeed a simple act.... I didn't figure on them sending my childhood friend after me though." Bale took another drink and looked into the fire, pouring a small bit of the drink into the flame made it turn blue for a quick second. "I sure would love to know how this is made..." Looking back at Exith he nodded. "I won't be running again, my feet are far too tired for that." Chuckling a bit at his joke he nodded slightly. "Sometimes, it's more of a drain of energy if I try to keep up the same shape for a long time, the bigger ones or smaller ones make things extremely taxing." Smiling again he changed back to himself, his face was sweating slightly but changing back always made that happen. Bale laughed slightly. "It's a dirty job but someone has to do it... I for one am grateful we got rid of that beast." Bale laughed even more as Exith's eye widened and his voice went higher. "I thought you would... He should be here shortly, just promise you won't stare at him, it bothers him when people really stare at him." Keeping his eyes moving a bit more, his hand strayed to the staff at his side. Shaking his head he looked at Exith, could he tell? Bale was worried, the magic was growing stronger, which meant that if it was him then he was closer. "I'm fine, I just sensed something thats all... but then again I'm always jumping at shadows." Somewhat of a smile flickered onto his face, his eyes glowed blue from more of the drink as they looked into the darkness behind Exith.

Exith shook his head in confusion. "If it was such a simple act, then why were you exiled?" He shook his head. "Sorry. I didn't mean to pry."
He blinked out over the terrain for a moment, lost in his own thoughts. "When someone has a twisted mind, and can only see what would cause people the most pain, they tend to act on that thought." he fell silent gathering his thoughts. "Perhaps, whoever sent your friend after you is one such thinker. Could you bring yourself to kill your childhood friend if your life was in danger? And if you could, would you be able to walk away with blood stained hands and think nothing of it? It's a torture just thinking about it, that's most likely the reason why they sent your friend. Or at least, that's my guess."
He watched the blue flames for a moment, once again sinking into his own thoughts. Okay so he knew a bit about torture and the ways of a crooked, twisted mind now, but he could use that knowlege. What better way to get inside the mind of a villain then to be a villain yourself? No, I'm no villain! He told himself firmly as his hands balled into fists unconciously.
Bales joke pulled him out of his thoughts and he grinned. "well you know, if your feet are causing you pain..." He held up his hands. His metal like claws glistened in the fire light. "I could get rid of them for you."He laughed. "Then you for sure wouldn't be able to run any more."
"taxing, makes sense." He nodded. "Pests are pests. they always seem to come back, again and again no matter how many times you get rid of them." He replied to Bale's comment. "but I guess, we'd be out of a job if they went away for good." He sighed sarcastically.
"Promise. No staring." He held up his hand and grinned. "I know what its like to be stared at." He nodded. "Its annoying." he nodded again.
His eyes flickered the the shadows. "Jumping at shadows is natural. it's hen the shadows jump back at you, then you have to worry." He turned to Bale. He could sense that he was worried.
usually when Bale sensed something it wasn't a good thing. Exith sighed. "If you want, I can send out a scout." He stared at the fire, not making eye contact with Bale. "If something's out there that's worrying you, we'll find it before it ever finds us." he turned to Bale. His eyes flcikered darkly, even through the strange light of the drink. "It's always better to do the ambushing, then to become the ambushed."
