Fresh air... A gentle breeze... He had felt both in the simulations of the gravity chambers, but it was unlike anything he felt now. It was less constricting, more natural. The sun on his face had an unfamiliar burn to it, one that couldn't be brought forth from an artificial sun. Taking off his pair of circle-lens sunglasses, the powerful light filled his eyes and caused no reaction in the computerized one, still hidden behind a mask of hair. It was slightly longer now, less perfectly trimmed as if to show a month and a half of groomingless neglect. The amateur fighter still wore a pair of bondage pants. Already weighing ten pounds in fabric alone, at least 13 thick heavy chains hung from them to increase the weight several fold. These were the same ones he had trained in the latter half of his absence from this side of reality, using their weight in conjunction with machine generated gravity in this school's infamous chambers. His shirt was like in mood, yet opposite in weight to his pants. It was black as well and of only slight difference in shade, barely noticeable but enough to stop the outfit from running together. Made for easier breathing and to regulate his body temperature, the black jersey like tee bore a small silver check mark on the right breast to signify it's athletic purpose. On his wrists were familiar black gloves, several weighted wristbands bound to his arm over them which we also for training purposes.

He jumped up onto the white tile of the arena, his hair bouncing slightly with new life as he tucked away his sunglasses into his shirt, removing it to reveal a tank top that would limit his movement less. Yuki folded it gently and laid it to rest just off the arena, staring back to the stands that surrounded the fighting grounds. They were empty, save a few students who heard of the tourney and came to watch. That was a good thing. Fewer distractions and less people to laugh as he was pounded into the tile. A heavy breath of this foreign yet refreshing air and the cyborg was as loose as he needed to be. All that was left was to center his chi and await Chrono.

At that thought, he was taken back to the time he first sparred with his teacher. How badly he was defeated then. His memory then skipped like a scratched CD to last he saw his sensei in the chambers a couple months prior. He had improved so much even since then. Hoping to use this new power to catch his Chrono off guard and please him as his teacher, Yuki was becoming over anxious. As if to bring himself back to reality and banish the feeling of nervousness from him, the boy began to mentally relive his most recent training. Endurance was his biggest improvement. He learned to strike with so much power while conserving his energy to keep him in there for as long as it would take, even in his current outfit at several time's the Earth's gravity, sometimes as high as fifteen G's. And to know himself and his own limits, he took himself back down to three on the last day of training just to see what was possible. It was a funny concept then, that the gravity that once made even breathing seem like a tiring task now made him feel as light as a feather. Furthermore, by turning up the adaptability of his simulated opponents to it's highest option, he got what it would be like in a real fight. He fought an opponent that would be able to see through his attacks as swiftly and accurately as his teacher. However, this opponent was only child's play compared to the same teacher that now would face him as an opponent.

Concentrating as much of his aura as he could from his inner being, beckoning it forth to his physical manifestation for use in this fight, he found himself almost forgetting to leave something in the reserves for a surprise burst of energy. That was his one advantage. He hoped that his teacher would be unable to fathom how exponential his power had grown, even though he still paled in comparison. This was his one edge to get in a few shots and prove to his teacher that he had potential. To prove that he wasn't weak. This battle would be nothing more than an assessment of his growth and he planned to show as much of what he had as possible to prove that he wasn't weak. This was to prove that nothing was out of his reach should he put his mind to it. As he reached the desired level of his aura that he would need, he could easily see it rolling around his body, feeling its warm familiarity despite it being cool to the touch. He was sure that by now, most people would be able to see it clearly, even those with no Jangen abilities of their own. He knew that his sensei, Chrono, would see it when he entered the ring. And that, was what he was waiting for. To let Sensei see a portion of his new found power.

He was still tired from the day before. Plus since he had taken a nap after his match with the bunny girl, he just woke up a few hours previous to this match. But when he realized who he was fighting as his pupil stood there, a smile came to his face. Chrono remembered how he had broken a bone or two of this kid's and utterly trashed him because he didn't control his power. That was one thing that been practicing lately. Controlling how much strength he put into his attacks. For this match he would most likely use a minimum amount of strength, but he didn't wish to take his student too lightly. After all, he had been training without him and he didn't know exactly how far along his student had gone. He hopped into the ring, a slight spring in his step. He wanted to test Yuki to find out how much he had trained. "So Yuki...you look well. And I see you have been practicing in the Gravity Chambers alot lately. Perhaps now you will be a decent challenge?" The first thing he always did in fights. Get the enemy to get pissed enough to show their true power while he still contained his own. Now that he though about it, Yuki had never seen Chrono's full power. Then again, not many people ever had. Considering the fact that when he used his full power it wasn't even him fighting any longer. It was DarkDrift. The demon living within his body.

"Okay you two, come into the middle of the ring." Upon their arrival he smiled at them once again. "The rules of the match are that there are no rules. Except that if I believe that the match is over, by passing out or giving up, or if one of you dies there wwill be no objections to my ruling." He waited till the two nodded in agreement and looked from one to the other once again. "BEGIN!!"

"Tell you what Yuki. I will let you make the first move. To make it fairer on you." Chrono was merely toying with him, and yet it was teaching him a lesson in the process that he wanted his student to learn. Do not give in to your enemies taunts and insults. They are most likely trying to goad you into a trap.

Yuki saw a shadow of his teacher entering the ring. He looked a little worn out, at least compared to the condition he had been in both of the previous times he had seen his sensei. It was strange, really. This was not at all how Yuki had pictured Chrono showing up. Was he really taken that lightly? Maybe he would have to go all out a little earlier on to show his sensei what he had gained in the chambers. But one thing he did not realize was this false pride he had bred along with his newfound strength was probably a greater weakness than any he had previously. Chrono's tired condition gave him the false pretense that he may have a chance at victory and that, perhaps, was the one thing to clear his head. If he was going to exploit that, he'd have to time his attacks, not rushing ahead blindly.

'Decent Challenge,' he thought, curious as to whether or not the mass of muscle across the ring was pulling his leg. Chrono couldn't have honestly figured out how much he had gained by simply looking at him. But then again, Yuki wasn't used to facing seasoned warriors. There was any number of skills and experiences they could have that he couldn't even fathom. If that was the case, there was no use displaying all of his power in an attempt to impress. Especially if Sensei could already see it. That would also negate his stored energy as a surprise burst. Another mistake on the battlefield: second-guessing oneself in a time when action is required. And that was now, as the announcer had just declared the battle as started...

He didn't know whether to be please or insulted about being given the first move. It was like a schoolyard bully telling a little first grader to hit him knowing it wouldn't hurt. But, this could give an opportunity to see what his guard is like. That knowledge would prove handy. ”Okay then. Here I come, Sensei," he said in reply to Chrono’s taunt. Proceeding cautiously seemed to be the best option, Yuki acting accordingly. With a swift spring across the ring, brandishing some of his new speed Yuki decided to put his sensei's Jangon eye to the test, assuming he could use his. With an action that he previously thought to defy the laws of physics, he leapt up into the air at least 15 meters and used the sun to hide his pattern of attack. Taking this chance to recall most of his aura into a shield for the counter he knew was coming, Yuki hoped that perhaps his power shift would go unnoticed for at least a few seconds, allowing him to channel into a recoil for what ever his teacher threw at him.

With the remaining bit of revealed energy that hadn't been giving him a barrier, he charged into his momentum, a new found skill for his beloved life-force. As a fail-safe in case Chrono could see, this would hopefully catch him off guard for at least a split second. Now, all he had to do was be able to react in the assumed opening. Sizing up Chrono's position, his eye began a quick scan of the enemy's stance, but inexperience reared its ugly head, as he could not find any probable weak points. That determined, he gritted his teeth for impact with his fist cocked for his first punch and his remaining three limbs ready to follow it up.

For the first few moments Chrono had closed his eyes and bowed his head. As if he truly didn't care about this match. But what he wanted to do was test Yuki's strength. To see if he could actually hurt him this time. So all he did as his student came at him was merely stand there, awaiting a hit to knock him across the arena. Or was that overestimating him a bit. Either way, he figured it would at least hurt a bit. So he raised his head to Yuki and yelled. "COME ON! GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT!" Once again he was trying to get Yuki to bring out his full power, but this time it was not because he was trying to teach him a lesson. No. This time he jsut wanted to feel the full power his student had obtained in his absense. And to find out if it rivaled that of anyone he had faced before. Plus this would give him a chance to decide on how much strength to use this fight.

The cry of his teacher echoed amongst the desolate chambers of Yuki's mind. As he stared into Chrono's eyes, he saw his face remaining constant as the world around it melted away into an unwritten memoir of events in the chambers. He saw the face slowly morph into one he knew not only from his training, but from another time, another place, somewhere hidden in the depths of his mind. The features change from their rough worn appearance to that of a paler, more fail appearing man. The hair remained constant, only appearing more groomed, but the expression this man bore upon his gentler features was far harsher than one would find imaginable on the face of one hardened on the field of battle. His eyes held no sentimentality for the life they beheld and his lips formed into a line as crooked as his soul from the righteous path into a cynical smirk. This man's face was found in only one other memory, one that even Yuki couldn't recall, though it was still there. And from that banished notion, it manifested itself both before Yuki's eyes today and in his training over the weeks prior.

The land around the figure that was his teacher finally materialized into an all white room, save gunmetal tiles that floored the seeming the infinite room. A room once found only in his nightmares, Yuki faced his repressed demon, not quite fathoming it, or the hatred that pulsed through his veins.

The face merely laughed, a cackle befitting only something akin to humanized hyena.
"Come, show me what you've been given," the demon bellowed, his laughing metamorphosing into speech. He flung the tail of his lab-coat aside and extended his arm, beckoning Yuki to attack, a cheep lure for a small fish. Biting eagerly, the experiment was summoned into foolish rage and a likely loss in combat.

His subconscious so easily grasped what the demon was as it was from there that the computer manifested it here, but long be 'til Yuki ever fully figures it out. Blinded by irrational hatred is almost as bad as the ignorance that guided him. Forcing all of his energy into his legs, he leapt up into the vast emptiness that existed as a ceiling and launched himself at the demon. A flurry of abomination's feet backed by a foolish human soul were loosed upon the space in front of the embodiment, not once to find their mark. Every kick, each with the force of battering ram, so easily deflected until Beelzebub’s hand gripped it's attacker and flung him across the void of a room. Skidding to a stop, both legs and an arm dragging while in the crouched position, like a beast ready to pounce on a mammoth, Yuki flung himself back into the fray, his aura now in his fists which were flung wildly at the demon. His efforts were in vain as the one arm that wasn’t swatting away the swarm of blows forced every one of his blows against him. With a single tear running from his real eye to mix with the blood running down his face, stinging in his broken flesh, Yuki felt himself just let go. As if all of his energy had taken a life of it's own and focused to one point on his fist and broken through the demons guard. Yet, this too, was folly. All of that force was taken in upon contact with demon's crossed arms and flung back at Yuki, point-blank, in a stream of energy intertwined with Beelzebub’s own. Depleted and empty, Yuki's body hit the gunmetal tiles, devoid of consciousness...

To see the demon's face yet again threw him into a fury. All of his training up that battle had been fruitless and monotonous. But at that point, he unleashed a store of his energy, though severely limited, he didn't even know he had. The remaining weeks were spent harnessing it, only to make the mistake on this test of unleashing it all far to early. As he saw still only the face of his demon as the face of his teacher, he felt his power depleting itself to one point again on his fist, only a split-second prior to impact. And again, the nightmare manifested itself into reality.

He stared in awe at the power that Yuki was showing him. Never had he figured that his student had nearly this much power, at least this far into his training. Was it what he had said that brought out this beast? Or perhaps what he had said merely triggered a psychological effect within Yuki? No matter what power he had triggered, he had already decided that he would not move from th way of his attack. Of course he was tempted to move after seeing Yuki's strength. No. He would stand tall and take the hit.

Just before the fist hit, he smiled at Yuki. Which was was quickly replaced with his widened eyes and look of surprise. Despite his hardened muscles and the training he had gone through to make himself stronger, the fist which Yuki shot at him still embedded deep within his stomach. Hell, if Chrono had been any weaker the fist probably would have broken through his skin, and perhaps shot directly through him. The punch sent him across the arena and off the edge. Luckily for him this was not a match where if you landed outside the ring, you lost. Cause if it was then he would have just lost to his student. But it still took him a moment to get back up again. And when he finally did Chrono was rubbing his stomach and coughing. "You...have definately...improved...but I guess...I ought to remove these weights huh?" A few more coughs ensued while he tried to recover his breath. Then he removed all of his weighted clothing and sword. The sword weighed a total of 300 lbs. He hadn't gotten fully used to it yet, it was a big jump from his original 100 lb one. The shirt weighed 200, the weights around his lower legs weighed 200 each, and the ones around his wrists weighed 200 each. So he was basically a walking tank. And this was another reason why it had surprised him that Yuki was able to knock him back. He was carrying 900 lbs around! Plus his original weight added onto that.

"So...do you think I ought to take off the weights? Or no? You can take off yours if you want to as well. Though they don't look as weighted as mine, so I don't know how much help they will be." Chrono knew that if he removed his weights he would become much faster that he was normally. And even with these weights on he could probably defeat Yuki. The added weight would add to the power in his hits, but lower his speed by a lot. Without them on would increase his speed dramatically but he wouldn't have as much power. Either way it would be a tradeoff.

The larger a flame, the more quickly it burns itself out. The greater a force, the more impact it has on everything effected by it. The same applies here. Sure, Yuki had got one good shot off. But could he do anymore? His whole body was numb as he stood there, blown back by the explosive force and leaving him in the stands on the opposite side of the arena from Sensei. With the antithesis of adrenaline, all the damage he sustained in that attack came rushing back to his body like a torrent of needles. He realized with sudden urgency that his fist was likely unusable... or was it? With so little energy left, now was a time for feinting and trickery. He knew his teacher was still able to keep going, likely as if the attack had barely hit him and that left him with depleted energy and a broken body to face him.

With a metallic grinding noise as his false bones moved against each other to realign, Yuki forced himself to his feet. Thrusting his arms out, both of his shoulders reset themselves in their man-made sockets as Yuki's grunt echoed softly around the arena. His right hand was seemingly locked with the fingers all bent and unmoving. Whether or not they were actually broke was unknown, but if they appeared weak, most opponents would just look them over as useless and lower their guard. The familiar blue flame pattern erupted around the pupil once more, exponentially fainter, not even noticeable to the naked eye. Closing his eyes, he recentered himself and a it flared up only to fall back to normal. As if restarting a stalled engine, he forced it out again, vainly to the same end.

A hopeless sigh escaped from his lips as he looked across the grounds. Coming as no surprise to him, his eye's cast away their blur and he saw Chrono standing upright. His ears picked up a faint thud as he heard the mass of clothing land with the blade on the ground, feeling the subtle wave travel through the ground. Such mass and yet Chrono's movements seemed to be so fluid when we saw him come in. The cyborg could hardly fathom what sort of power could function in that, especially in the gravity he was in when Yuki first walked in for training more than a month prior. When he heard his teacher tell him to take off his own weights, he did accordingly.

First came off his chains. Undoing each of them with a shaky left hand, they fell to the ground with a soft clinking noise. A small pile of just chains was all that was left of the weight in his legs after but a few moments. Next came his wristbands. Seven in all between his two arms and weighing two and a half pounds each, they didn't do much unless his arms were extended. But removing them now was a literal pain. As he undid the buckle on each of them, the shift in pressure felt like a sludge hammer on the bruised forearm and wrist. He looked at his deformed hand and then back to his left's four weights. That looked like just a little bit to much pain to not be gained directly from his opponent. After another minute of going at it with his teeth, he managed to loose his left arm. All that was left were his black cloth gauntlets. Hesitantly, he pulled them off, a surplus of scars staining ivory flesh were exposed to the harsh mid-day light. But this was a battlefield. And as such, scars were to be worn as an emblem of pride. But not these scars. These were the real weights that we wore on his arms. Though rather than his body, the bound his soul as tightly as Sensei's clothes would do to his pupil.

Staggering with unbalanced steps, he came back into the arena. He had almost nothing left and he was back in square one. His only strategy was to use the force from that first punch to keep applying his offense to his teachers stomach. He wouldn't be able to focus all his attacks there or be read like book, but rather conserve his limited energy for the real shots aimed there. That was his chance at this point, but that was all it was, a chance, for more likely to fail than to succeed.

Rather than invite his demise by giving Chrono the offense, Yuki staggered quickly in a line as strait as pubic hair towards his sensei. Though to some this may have looked like a certain form of martial arts, but here, it was just weak legs wanting to move like they had no bones to support them. Upon getting to his opponent, he feinted a strong lunged punch to Sensei's face and rather stomped his foot hard into his kneecap. Using that impact to thrust him up into the air, he back-flipped, using the whip-like motion to bring his other foot into Chrono's chin. Though none of these had much force behind them, they were just a display to make his attacks seem unconcentrated. He followed this up, putting a portion of his remaining energy into a spin kick towards his sensei's kidney. That was the focal point of this rush, to leave another mark on Chrono's midriff. If he could get enough shots like that off their before he was removed from consciousness, there may just be some hope of a victory.
