This time of the year always made Greg depressed. It was like this every year, and would probably remain so for the rest of his life. The final endings of his garden going to rest before next spring. It was an important part of the cycle of nature, and Greg knew that too. Everything must grow, peak, whither, and then die in an eternal pattern far older than humanity itself. Still it was not a good feeling for him. The last of his herbs had been cut and were drying in his dorm room. The flowers were dead except for the few remaining dying ones that still clung desperately to their branches. It was all rather pathetic really. He observed it all for a little while. He was a tall man, no he was a huge man, and it looked rather odd seeing him with his tools and shaking his head slowly in a small form of depression as he viewed the last of his gardens. Now all he could do was plan for next year and clear up. Leaves littered the ground, and browned petals were scattered amongst the leaves. His cherry tree was bare. “Well time to get to work,” he sighed, “Yes.” The first thing to do was turn off the waterfall. The thing ran itself by the movement of its own water. Now it would have been all right, except he had no plan on ruining the system. Who knew what would happen if the roots were to fill with water and they froze in the water. No, it was far better to play it safe. Stuffing the whole with a large round rock he gently maneuvered the stone in place. The water trickled to a stop. With a general smile of success he continued on to the next chore. Leave raking. Taking out several bio-safe garbage bags he took out his rake and began shifting the golden leaves into piles. Those piles became larger and larger over time, and eventually they became one gargantuan pile of decaying leaves. He had worked up a sweat. Usually this simple matter would not be all that hard, but he had a huge coat on to protect himself from the late autumn wind. Sighing he leaned against his rake and looked out shaking his head. There was a lot to do, but he needed a break right now. Eyeing the sun he settled down in the dew wet grass. A short break wouldn’t kill him now would it? |

It was indeed a chilly day but what could one expect from the autumn air? Dried leaves littered the ground which caused many crunchy munchy sounds to tweak out with every step. Crunch, Crunch, Crunch. That was all Athens heard as he sat their at the base of a large tree and watched a few students stroll about the garden; enjoying what beauty there was left before winter’s cruel frost devoured the rest of the graceful plant-life. It didn’t bother the green haired boy to much that other students were out as long as they didn’t stay behind and noisily ruffle through the leaves around him. As nice as the sound was once in a while, the constant crackling of dried leaves got annoying rather swiftly. As one last girl left the area, Athens smirked to himself and pulled out a book from his backpack. Finally some piece and quiet. CRUNCH. The viridian eyed boy looks up and sees a rather tall boy moving about what seemed to be a withering garden patch. It wasn’t all that surprising that the garden was dieing. It was so cold after all. Athens made an agitated face and then opened his book where his bookmark was. He read a few lines and soon forgot about the abnormally vertically privileged boy. Then CRUNCH. Athens looked up again a bit more annoyed then before. He gritted his teeth as he stared back at the tall teenager and glared coldly. That boy sure was noisy. The garden was supposed to be a peaceful place. Athens straightens up his faded green jacket and grunted a bit as he brought his eyes down to the page he left off of. He takes a deep breath and rests one leg over the other as he stretches them out and leans back against the tree. THUD. Immediately, the green haired boy slams his book down onto his lap and stares at Greg with intensely widen eyes; rimming with pure irritating. Athens gritted his teeth hard and just continued to glare at Greg from a few feet away; seeing the large boy block the water with a large rock. They could easily spot each other. Athens gripped his book tightly, causing it’s spine to bend backwards a bit. He gasped a bit loudly in frustration and then stared back down to his book. He breathed hard for a bit, but soon calmed down as he read on. For a while everything was silent. The tall boy had finally quieted down. Athens smiled to himself as he got his peace. He licked his fingers and then turned the page. SWISH, CRUNCH, SWISH, CRACKLE, SWISH. Athens shut his eyes as tightly as he could as he slammed his book down onto his knees hard as the spine of the book finally gives way and rips. The book falls apart in the boy’s hand as his eyes burst open with rage to see Greg now raking up the leaves. Athens breaths hard and stressed as his face turns red. He closes his eyes to calm down, but it was too late. Even when Greg stopped for a rest, Athens seem to explode. ”Oh my fucking GOD! Shut up! Shut Up! SHUT UP! Do you have to be so damn loud?! You make me want to rip out my ears, and jump off the damn Tokyo Tower. My God you’re so annoying! Please, fucking get cancer or something!!! And my God, your stench, what cologne is THAT!? Essence of “I don’t Bath.” Or Fragrance “Shit” for men? Hell, You damn humans don’t know anything do you?!” Athens stood up and threw the torn book into his backpack. His face was red and contorted with rage and rather ugly too. No one ever said Athens didn’t have a bad temper, nor had anyone said he had a sweet mouth. He ran his fingers roughly through his own emerald green hair in frustration and aggravation. At the same time, his emotions got the better of him and he lost control. It wasn't a lost of control over his consciousness like most would think. He didn’t go into a berserk mode or go insane to attack people. No, he only unfocused and allowed his illusion to fade away momentarily. The boy that stood there became slightly transparent, and then vanished all together. In his place was a large white wolf that shook his head and body about as if it was trying to shake off water from its fur. But obviously Athens was doing this out of annoyance. The white wolf stopped and glared at Greg; even in his wolf form a glare was detected easily. The lupine then noticed his human image was down, so he quickly turned his head to the left angrily. In mere seconds, the image of the green haired boy appears again with his head turned angrily to the left; just as the wolf did. The grunted, and then shoved his hands into his pockets before turning back at Greg. ”Idiot, you owe me a new book… Asshole… ” |
