Seiji: "Hey... Ryusei?" Ryusei: Yes Seiji-kun? Seiji: "...Nothing, I'm just bored." This is what happens when a guy with only a motorcycle for transportation gets snowed in. Outside, the snow was starting to come down at a moderate rate, so everyone just decided to stay in their houses unless they wanted to go to the school itself. Prior to the movie that Ryusei was watching at that moment, Seiji decided to check out the forecast to only hear that there would be 7-9 inches of snow falling, which almost effectively closed school for the day. It was also a good thing that he secured the tarp down over his bike as well, or else that would be even more covered then it was right now. Already, almost 3 inches had stuck to the ground, but it didn't matter to the students there, as they had gotten their coats and gloves, and started numerous random snowball fights. Of course he got in a couple, but after being pelted by six to eight snowballs all at once, he decided that he had had enough for the day and went back in. The thought of visiting his siblings came to mind as well, but he decided against it, thinking that he hasn't really just stayed in his house much since he arrived, plus they would probably be appreciating the fact that they're out in Domino, and he's here in the school. All he had started to do however was layout on one of the sofas in the common room, while his guardian spirit started to watch Shaolin Soccer, of all things to be on TV in this weather. He had changed out of the damp clothes he was wearing, and had put on a simple pair of jeans and a random t-shirt that he owned, but he was also wearing a black sweatshirt over it. While he was listening to his iPod and reading a book he pulled from his shelf, a couple other house members came in and saw who it was that was laying there. Of course, they whispered to themselves that it was just that boy who talked to himself, but they didn't understand. They just couldn't see or hear who it was that he was speaking to all this time. Ryusei: This is an interesting movie Seiji-kun... I had no idea people could move around like that. Kung-fu hust have advanced greatly since my rest began. Seiji: "No, not really. It's all stuntwork and wires, sure some of the actors are martial artists in real life, but no one can really push a car into a parking space from outside of one." Ryusei: But... what do you think some of the people here can do? It isn't like the old school in Kyoto... Seiji couldn't even think up a decent rebuttal to that arguement. He just laid there almost slackjawed at the realization that for once, his guardian topped him in a discussion. Closing his book, he just reached over for the remote while putting one hand on the floor to prop himself up. Ryusei saw this and instantly knew what was going to happen next, so he blocked Seiji's line of sight by floating before his eyes. What neither of them knew was that the floor was still slightly slick from the last person's still damp shoes who was there earlier, which had caused Seiji's hand to slip out from under him, and made him fall flat on his face. Seiji: "Hey... buddy?" Ryusei: Y-yes, Seiji-kun? Seiji: "I'm not bored anymore... Now, I just hurt." |

Standing off to the side she watched the students scurry about, pelting each other with snowballs and laughing. She was quite content in just watching, then it happened. From out of no where a freshly packed ball of snow found its mark on the back of her head. It wouldn’t have been so bad had the remains not slipped down in to her coat, thoroughly chilling her and wetting her shirt as it melted. Turning around abruptly, she saw that the snowball had in fact not been meant for her at all. A skinny little boy ran past her, nearly knocking her over, followed soon after by a much bigger boy. He was possibly over a foot taller than Melody herself, and his build gave the impression of someone whom frequented the gym on a regular basis. Boy: “Get back here you little twerp!” Furrowing her brows there was something in Melody that surfaced. Like a long chained animal that found a way to loosen its bindings and before she could register what she was thinking it was too late. Her once gold eyes melted away to a red fury, contrasting against her pale skin wildly. There was an old saying, think before you speak, but if she had ever heard she certainly wasn’t acknowledging it now. “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size you big bully!” She immediately bit her tongue as the boy stopped in his tracks, turning to face her and only coming to see a very angry and red-faced girl. Boy: “You’d rather I pick on you then?” “…” Without much room to argue he was already gathering snow, and at an unbelievable rate. Before she could protest, he had a snowball ready about the size of a small child. Like some sort of pitcher, he launched the ball in the air, its path on a direct collision course with Melody. It flew at her, and she took off in a dead set run, snowball in tow. Huffing and puffing she looked back, frantic to see that the snowball was gaining and with little in the way of places to run, she did the only thing she could do. She hauled buggy back to the house. The poor door never saw it coming, one minute Melody was diving for it, her finger barely managing to twist the knob to open it as she pulled herself inside. There was the sound of a dull thud against the wood of the door. Melody sank back against it with a deep sigh of relief before tearing the toboggan from her head and patted her hair down until it was back to normal. Pushing herself off the door, she walked in to the common room, peeling off her thick bright yellow coat and hanging it up along the wall as she entered with some of the others. She was dressed normal enough in a white turtleneck, black ski pants and thick snow boots. Her hair was the same as always, pulled half up in to a twin pair of pigtails and they bounced as she walked, shaking her head slightly and humming. Leaning over the back of the sofa she quirked an eyebrow at the television noting that whom ever had been watching must have been extremely bored. Looking down she never expected to see a boy on the floor of all places. Blinking a few times, she rubbed her golden colored eyes to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating. Nope, still there. Resting her arms on the back of the sofa she propped her head in her palms and quirked a curious eyebrow at the boy below before snickering. “Eh-he…are you okay?” |

Unfortunately, Seiji's ears were also ringing from the fall as well, so he couldn't exactly determine where that comment came from. But, albeit slowly, he was able to sit upwards again. His nose was a wee bit sore though, but if you think of how he landed, anyone would say the same thing. While he held one hand against his forehead, he looked straight ahead to the TV, which his spirit was still sitting in front of. Seiji: "Ow, that hurt... Hey buddy, when did you start sounding like a girl?" Ryusei: I didn't say anything Seiji-kun... she did. Seiji: "Huh? Who did?" Most likely, Melody didn't see what he was talking to, and would only think that he's seeing things... or something. People have different views on what they see before them, but at that moment, it was probably a good thing that his back was turned to her then, cause the dumbfounded look on his face wouldn't have helped his situation. Confused himself, Seiji slowly turned around to see her resting her head on the sofa he was just laying on a moment ago. Naturally, he just looked at her for a moment, but then the realization that he was talking to thin air just hit, and he just bolted back onto his feet, trying to find the right words to say in his defense. "I uh.. you see.. umm... I didn't know... that is... I'm not crazy." |

Watching the strange boy sit up provided little in the way for entertainment. For a moment, she wondered if he had even heard her. Just when she was about to open her mouth and repeat the question she faltered, then stopped completely. A nervous twitch found her eyebrow as she watched the boy talking to seemingly thin air. Blinking slowly she rubbed her eyes and looked once more, just to make sure she wasn’t missing anything. Nope, still nothing there. The twitch didn’t hinder and she watched cautiously as the boy turned and looked back at her. “…” At this point she wasn’t sure whether to run in fear of her own sanity, or let her curiosity take over and find out just whom he was talking to. Maybe the boy had an imaginary friend or something. That couldn’t have been too far fetched. Then again, he could have be a psychopath. With the thoughts mingling around in her head, she was quite startled when he jumped up so suddenly. Melody herself rose to a full stance, jumping slightly at such sudden movements. Despite herself, she giggled and she knew it was rude to laugh like that but she couldn’t help it. Seeing how embarrassed he was she knew that there was something to all of this that she was missing. Calming herself, she nodded and titled her head to the side just a bit with an effervescent grin lingering on her lips. “Don’t worry about it, there’s a lot more to this school than what meets the eye so it doesn’t surprise me too much when I see or hear strange things.” Leaning over the back of the couch she stretched her hand out to him, smiling all the while. “I’m Melody, it’s nice to meet you.” |

It was funny? He basically just went from normal to acting like an idiot in the course of a few seconds, and she thought it was funny? Seiji just looked at her with a confused look on his face. Even his spirit had taken a resting position on his shoulder as he oversaw the proceeding bit of utter chaos that his shaman put himself in. All they did was look at each other as she tried to calm herself, but it was still an odd situation they were in. First of all, Seiji never even saw or even sensed her coming, but that could be contested due to the fact that his face was smacked against the floor. Second, and much more likely to have unnerved him a bit, she was taller then he was. But that didn't serve much either, as 3/4th the entire campus stood taller then he did. But as she reached her hand out to him, and he had to lift his head up to see her face to face, Melody, as she said her name was, would most likely hear a nervous chuckle coming from him. Even after she said he could relax, he still remained tense. "Uh... H-hello Melody-san. I'm Seiji, n-nice to meet you too." As soon as he said that, Seiji's face lowered from embarracement. His face just turned bright red from everything that's going on, and he was wide open for a nice teasing from Melody at this point. He probably deserved it though, talking to nothing in front of you would be concidered to be an unusual habit for anyone to pick up. Not to mention that his initial reaction was never intended to be the best of them, no matter who saw it in the first place. "Uh, quick question for you though... how long were you standing behind me just now?" |

Melody-san!? To be sure he wasn’t going take to calling her that. Scrunching her nose up slightly, she decided that did not like the sound of it at all, even if it was the custom. Watching him look down she blinked, barely noticing the red hue of his face. Her eyebrow quirked, confusion set in followed by a slight worry. Was something off or was she just missing the big picture as usual? Blinking she heard his question loud and clear, it just took a bit to replay everything that had happen to give him the right answer. Placing her finger on her chin she looked deep in thought as she rolled her eyes up to look at the ceiling. Images of the bully, giant snowball, running, screaming, door, and then him, all in that order ran around like some defective slide show before she looked back at him smiling brightly. “Oh I don’t know, not too long. You were just laying there on the floor when I saw you. I didn't know if you were trying to take a nap or something.” Climbing over the back of the couch, she plopped down near the farthest arm from Seiji, giving him plenty of personal space since he seemed so uptight. She really didn’t get it. Big deal that he was talking to himself, she could think of worse things, really she could, like burnt noodles. Mercy be, they smelled horrible. Shaking herself mentally she didn’t want to let her thoughts stray too far, it was rude to space out when carrying on a conversation with someone. “Seriously Seiji, loosen up already. Lots of people talk to themselves; even I do it on occasion.” She stated matter-of-factly nodding so her pigtails bobbed in synch with her movements. Maybe he was the one who didn’t get it yet. Melody just wasn’t judgmental in that since to write someone off as crazy that easily. “Oh and don’t call me Melody-san, it’s way too formal. Melody will do just fine, eh-he.” |

"Loosen up? Wait, I thought I wasn't being uptight?" Seiji actually did think he was acting all relaxed at that moment, but from the look of things, he had to admit that he was still kinda hesitant about what happened. He was used to having people talk behind his back about.. well, how he was. Add in the fact that only a handful of people could actually see his partner, and that doesn't help matters at all. But at least Melody was trying to understand him first, instead of instantly placing her judgement on what he appeared to be, which at that moment was justifiably crazy. And even though she thought that he was just taking a nap, he was quick to correct that. "No no, I wasn't sleeping, I just kinda sorta... fell off the couch. I was reaching for the remote, then one thing led to another, and uh... I guess you saw what happened next." Seiji had to make a mental note at that moment. Start speaking to his guardian spirit mentally, instead of verbally more often, starting right now. He knew how to do it by heart, he just kept forgetting that link at the most crucial times, like when making a first impression. The only thing that served to upset her was the fact that he said "san" after her name. he just meant to show her the proper respect, like he was trained to do since he was younger. She was still smiling about it though, so the least he could do as he sat down was make an effort. "Oh, alright Melody-sa... Umm... Melody-sa... Wow, it's like a reflex now. I got so used to it, it's almost second nature. Um... I'll work on that, ok?" |

Fidgeting in her seat, she looked at Senji with the same cheerful gaze. It left to question if she was always in such a sunny disposition. Giggling she shook her head lightly, the slightest of movements making her hair sway. Even though she was still clueless to the fact that he had been talking to his guardian, Melody refused to write him off as insane. It was just like she said, people talked to themselves, some at inopportune moments, but it happened. She’d be patient, and give him time to grasp the fact that she wasn’t exactly the judgmental type, however long that took. Tilting her head to the side, she listened carefully. Maybe he hadn’t been sleeping after all, but that’s sure what it looked like to her. She tried her best not to giggle; it wasn’t exactly the most polite of actions, but she couldn’t help herself. The sound was light and airy but she contained herself. The mental picture in her head was far too amusing. Then he attempted to not be so formal with her name, another round of giggles. Clutching her sides her whole body shook. It wasn’t hard to see that Melody was easily amused. “Don’t worry about it; I’m no position to tell you who to be or how to act anyway. If you want to call me Melody-sama then that’s fine, but don’t expect me to call you Senji-sama. It’s just too formal.” She stuck her tongue out a bit with a playfully disgusted look on her face as she crossed her eyes. Shaking it off she smirked, looking at Senji curiously again with the same gold hued eyes. “So… when you’re no watching television and falling on the floor for, what do you do?” |

"Oh no, I don't expect that from anyone. Matter of fact, I'm still surprised my brother and sister even calls me that." Yeah, Seiji did notice the stiffled giggle coming from Melody, and while he did try to think of what it was that could have produced it, it was nice to see that she wasn't upset that he couldn't help but be formal around her. Even that look on her face when she stuck her tounge out at him proved that she was joking around, so in turn, he chuckled slightly at the sight. What could he say? It was funny to see. "Well..." he started, leaning back into the couch a little. It wasn't often that someone asked him what he did when not attending his classes. And it also wasn't like he had some exciting entertainment life either. I mean, his social life's gone to the dead (bad pun intended). Still, there were a few things he liked to do that didn't involve what he was taught by his family. "...I like riding my motorcycle, pretty good at it actually. I would show you, but the weather's not really good for that sort of thing right now. Actually, I bet it's snowed in." Now he had to think on it again. There had to be something else that seemed interesting to her, but he didn't know what her specific tastes were, seeing as though they had just met. "Um... I also like watching stand-up comedy, and lots of varying styles of music, but that's all I can think up right now. How about you Melody-san? What do you like doing when you're, well... not busy?" |
