homewards for the books; Terel (Hellmouth)

Snow covered the area as far as could possibly be seen, the train pulled into a small station that was nearly empty of people, the only ones on the train were those who had been traveling either back from the larger city after a trip or those who were coming in for a vacation. Unfortunatly there was bound to be some commotion over Irvine's return home.

The township was rather small, it had just about over two thousand people in it. They led a simple life out of choice, no cars and no TV's anywhere. there would be the occasional radio here and there but that was just to be able to keep up with important news, the whole place looked like a london setting in those olden movies except for the lack of technology used in there. But it suited them just fine.

It had been so long since Irvine had been here. Memories of being chased around by the residents started flooding back into his mind, but he didn't regret coming here. He had been planning a return trip for some time but didn't think it would happen this early, a few more years seemed like a better time to come, though it wouldn't matter if he came back in twenty years time. They would still hate him the same.
"This is it."

Jack ahd never been to Europe before and this town seemed to eb the oldest in Europe. It seemed old fashioned. jack stepped off the train with the boy known as Irvine. Irvine seemed almost worried abotu returnign as if he wasnt ready yet in the end it didnt matter because they needed tehse books to get to the Hellmouth. Getting these books wa stheir objective and Jack would amke sure they succeded. He would help the boy named Zar no matter waht. Jack didnt knwo why he felt hsi determination but he did.

Jack looked at the hosue and turned to Irvine, " So Irvine from the way you've been acting it sounds as if we'll ahve to get in and get out with the books as fast as possible am I right?" Jack asked the enrvous looking boy.

"Once were in the house we can take as long as we need, but first we need to get to it without getting my head blown off in the street"

That didn't really worry him, the town was filled with hunters but no one would pull out a gun in the street. A pitchfork maybe, but no guns.
They were standing in front of a house, but not his house, first they needed to get his key from some waitress in the town. Why she had it was a completly different story.

"Come on, we should get to the pub before the sun goes down"

jack didnt feel much better after listening to Irvine it appeared this would be an interestign journey Jack just hoped they made it back for Hellmouth. He walked besides Irvine heading to the suppsoed Pub. Jack hadnt heard that word in a long time.

" So Irvine why is it that someoen might shoot you before we get to your house?" Jack asked. he kenw it was most liekly involved with him beign a meat-human but he didnt knwo exactly.

"They probably wouldn't really shoot me, at most they might try something stupid."

He then thought about how to explain why they would do something, he wasn't the only meta-human around, and even this place got to accept them to some degree, it was probably just Irvine.

"Most of them are afraid of me, quite a few also have some personal vendetas against me. It's funny really how I'm not welcome in my town."

Jack listened to Irvine. It seemed Irvine ahd a dark past. It seemed he felt as unsafe in his home town as Jack thought he would in all of America. He just wlaked rigth besides them. People were starting to look at them funny and Jack got an idea. He was startign to ebcome a jokester eh just simpyl couldnt help ti eh froemd a slight smirk.

" Yeah That's pretty much the reason I dont show my face in America to many officals wantign ym head," He then droppe dto a whisper," So how freaked out would they eb if they saw a guy all fo the sudden form baldes all over his body?"

Forming blades over his body? That was a tough question, he hadn't been there for a while so he wasn't sure what they would say.
"That really depends if they think you're with me or against me, otherwise you might find some people screaming."
He said that with a little bit of amusement in his voice, it wasn't like he tried to scare people, but it might be fun to see how they would react.

Jack formed a small smirk as he listened to him. Tensiosn between metas and humans were high here but not as much as in the U.S.A if they could contain him he could become a slave there. Irvine sounded slightly amused. He kept walking by Irvines side. " So how much longe runtil we reach the pub." He asked. he wasnt tired from wlaking at all he had quite high endurance. Beside sthey ahdnt been walking that long. Still eh really wnated to get abck to help get to the hellmouth an Irvines books were probally his and the other people tryign to get tehre's only hope.

"You mean that place"
He said as he pointed to a regular enough looking place, the outside of it didn't seem very different to any of the other buildings around except for a very large window with some french words written on it. You could even see everything that went on in there through that window, a few round tabels with people sitting at them. People of all kinds were there, grown men, women and even children. Not really much of a pub in there anymore except the bar with the usual old fashioned stools up the front.
"Keep your eyes open for a pretty blond girl in there, she should still be working here"

Jack looekd at the place. It wa sindeed extremely old fashioned. he was starting to wonder what exactly happened here that made Irvine so uncomfortable he figured he wouldnt know until Irvine wanted him to. he starte dlooking around for the blonde girl, " So exactly why do w eneed to meet her? she a friend of yours?" Jack asked. Sure enough he saw a particularly pretty bloned haired girl working there. " Is that by any chance her?" Jack asked. He ahd no idea why they were looking for ehr or exactly what they were doign ehre btu he guesse dhe would find out. All he knew is tehy were he for those so important books. Taht is what dragged them from japan all the way to Europe.

"No one around here is my friend, their either scared from me or want to mount my head on a wall"
The girl he pointed out noticed them quite quickly and gave a nervous little laugh as she started to back away while holding a tray to herself. A few other people also noticed them, in a small town like this everyone knew everyone, most of them stared at Irvine while a few were fiddeling with something under their tables out of sight.
"Maybe I should wait outside, just ask the girl for the key to my house and we can get going again"
He pulled down his hat a bit while saying that, no hunter could catch him but it wouldn't stop some from trying.

Jack listened to Irvine still not knowing what had happened to him at this town although he was pretty sure it had to do with his powers. She girl seemed nervous and so did the people. He nodded when Irvine suggested him stepping outside Jack had also noticed some people fiddling with things under the table. That could mean one of two things one meant they were ready to fight and the other.... well it meant they weren’t afraid of what others thought. Jack didn’t plan to find out which. As Irvine stepped out he made his way over to the waitress. His size on its own didn’t suggest any weakness and his powers could definitely back that up. He wondered if people would be as freaked out by him just because he and Irvine had been walking through the town right by each other. He walked over to the waitress and noticed some people were still looking at him he kept a calm and cool face. He stopped leaning against a wall looking at the waitress. " So you gonna to give me the key?" He asked. He felt strangely casual in this town mostly because he wouldn’t see most of these people again.

The girl looked at him for a second before actualy dropping the tray she was holding as she searched her pockets. Then she remmembered something and took a necklace from around her neck which had a dull key on it's end, it looked as old as anything else in the area. She quickly handed it to Jack while asking one thing.
"Just make sure he leaves as soon as possible."
She said that with a timid voice, then backed away to a back room to continue her work. The other people around started to calm down a bit themselves, they weren't happy about Jack asking for the key since it could mean Irvine was moving back in. Another person across the room from Jack yelled out across the relativly quiet room.
"Make sure he doesn't eat anyone this time, or..."
A threatening remark cut short by Irvine popping back into the building.

Jack was now slowly getting the picture. Almost everyone feared Irvine. The threat added even more. Jack was interested to find exactly what Irvines power was. He looked at the key. It indeed was old just like the town. He remembered how the people had eyed them on the streets and how Irvines house was supposedly empty. Somehow Irvine had eaten so someone and Jack guessed it might have been his parents. Jack walked over to Irvine and held up the key. " So where to?" He asked with a calm tone He saw otehrs were still looking at them. So Jack did somethign uexpected blaeds anifested up his back Jack not bothering to manifest them all ove rhsi body. Soem people stared wide eyed otehrs treated as it was nothing others now consdiered him like Irvine.Jack didnt really care. He just waited for Irvines answer.

"Up there"
He replied while pointing up to a hill partly visible through the houses, on top of it was a large mansion. It had been there for a long time, longer than the town had been there, as old as it looked it's exterior was well maintained, no borded up windows, no moss or peeling paint. But it did have a strange feel when you'd look at it, probably the fact that it was nearly facing the town completely.
When Jack did his thing Irvine wasn't surprised at all by it, as disturbing as it looked it wasn't something entirely new to him.
"You and my sister would have gotten along very well."
As he said that he started off towards the hill.

Jack didnt know whether that was a compliment or not so he just simply walked besides Irvine as he looked at the hill. Irvine was extremely wealthy it seemed if eh lived in a mansion of course he also affored AHS so taht said soemthing for his monetary income. Jack himsefl went to AHS through money given to him from his mom when he had escaped. He knew that after graduating from AHS he would still have enough money left over to get a decent living while he finds a good job. Of course he couldnt be sure everything changes at times and maybe he would end up dirt poor but no one could know for sure. He just walked with Irvine up the hill. " So are you gonna come back here when you graduate or what?" Jack asked. He wondered after all it seemed Irvine wasnt exactly welcomed back here. Jack never talked much so his changeing characetr and curosity were quite obvious to those who really knew him.

"Oh I'll be back, whether they want me or not. This is my home, there's noone who can stop me from coming back."

There probably was, it was still a few years before he would graduate and there were many things he never faced before. Either way he wouldn't let anyone get in his way, his family owned the whole area including the town. Probably the only thing stopping the people from attacking his house, that and the big wolf that would be waiting in there.
The two didn't need to walk for long before they reached the house, ignoring the extra trail that branched off to the side Irvine stepped beside the door.

"When we get in there, try not to break anything expensive."

Everyone was told this before they first entered any part of the structure, it was pretty much a tradition.

Jack listened to him and nodded slightly. Irvine was obviously more wealthy then Jack if he owned the whole mansion. It seemed once he graduated Irvine would just return there. Irvine didn’t reveal much and that didn’t bother Jack. Jack wasnt exactly that open either. When eh said don’t break anything expensive Jack didn’t really care. He wants a klutz and he was sure he wouldn’t break anything. Besides if he did he could pay for it. " Don’t worry I wont just worry about yourself," he said calmly, "So exactly how big is this library of yours?" Asked Jack. He wondered how long it would take to find a book on hellmouth. From the sound of it and by the look of the house it seemed it would take quite a while. Jack just sighed.

"Like I had the time to count the books in it, there's a pretty small section to do with what we need. As far as I know."

What exactly could they use for a place full with demons accessed through dreams? He had some old books about demons, dreams and other dimensions if that was this place actually was. It wouldn't take long to find all the books, around eight out of the few hundreds he had. He looked around for a second before remmebering Jack still had the key, he wouldn't usually forget something like that but he was thinking about what had happened there a few years ago.

"You still got the key?"

Jack listened to the man as he spoke. So a small section to look through that was good and bad. It meant they would have not as logn a time spent searchign but it also emant he might nto have what they needed. They needed to elarn about hellmouth, portals, dream worlds, demons, darkness. The list added up. He had neve rheard of Hell motuh before so he wondered exactly what they could find. A decent computer would work too. Maybe they could find soemthing if he googled it. From the sound of it it seemed as if it was soem type of enrance to soem otehr place. But they needed to enter the entrance and taht was all he knew. He was taken away form hsi thoughts when Irvine spoke. jack nodded and turned the key opening the door. " You first." he said balntly.

The door squeeked open.
'Got to get that fixed some day'
The first room was large, a wide staircase went up on the far wall and split to either direction leading to more doors. Every few feet along the walls there were paintings, mostly men accompanied by enormous hounds and wolves, the occasional platform with a vase on top was also found there. The whole place had an Adams family feel to it, except for the lack of black on everything, it was mostly browns. Irvine went in and casually fliped his hat onto the head of a short statue of a sitting wolf near the door, also laying his sword on a small desk near by.
"Make yourself comfortable, don't do anything I wouldn't. I'll go find the library."
The fact of being home made him a little more comfortable overall. The place actually still looked as if someone was living in it. It was clean for one, not many 'abandoned' mansions stayed clean of dust and spider webs. As he casually walked about Irvine looked at everything, re-familiarising himself with the things he hadn't seen in a long time.

Jack walked into the mansion and looked around. It was old no doubt but it was also elegant almost. It had an almost spooky feel as Jack looked around it. He listened to Irvine and nodded. Tough not doing anything he wouldn’t since he didn’t even know the guy for goodness sake. He guessed he really hadn’t been there in a while if he had to go find the library. Still he could very well just be trying to get away from Jack. Jack looked at the different men in the pictures. Jack noticed a lot of wolves and hounds in the pictures and the one by the door. Jack started putting two and two together. From the man at the pub saying to make sure he didn’t eat anyone, to the mansion being on a hill to the fact there were wolves all over. Irvine’s power somehow involved wolves and Jack guessed he was probably some form of wear wolf but Jack couldn’t be sure. Jack examined each of the pictures. They were nicely done indeed and definitely fitted the house and gave it a spooky type appearance. Jack continued examining them as Irvine went looking for the library.

As Irvine left the room something else woke up in the house, knocking over a few things up in the attic while getting fully awake. It started to randomly wander around the rooms looking into each one with it's big eyes, soon enough it found it's way to the lower level of the building while continueing it's watching, it eventually caught sight of Jack looking at some paintings. It looked at him from high up on the staircase sitting behind a pole of the hand rail.
'He shouldn't be in here...'
It thought for a second, contemplating what to do about the new arrival. It remained almost completly unseen above his head on the stairs, ready to hide again whenever he looked up, wanting to be a little mischevious, it dropped a paper airplane aimed to land on Jack's head. Still looking down at him curiously.

As Jack was examining the paintings he thought he heard something but eh ignored it. He figured Irvine was the only other person in there after all. Then he moved backwards slightly to look at the paintings differently and watched a paper airplane fall in front of him. Jack looked around but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary He figured it would have come from up the stairs. He walked over to the stair case casually and slowly walked up them trying to find whatever had dropped the paper airplane on him. If there were any type of threat he knew he would have to eliminate it. So eh quite casually looked around the upper floor for whatever it was.

As soon as Jack started walking up the strairs the creature quickly ducked around the corner, it's feet making a quiet patting sound on the carpet. Once around the corner it took off into the air, while in flight it disturbed a curtain causing it to sway and knock over a candlestick near by, almost intentionally as it rolled down the hallway and down towards the stairs.

The silent glideing of the being led it close to a few open windows making large ominous shadows float across the hallway. A lengthy creak echoed in the house as it dove behind a door and into a dim lit room, the sun was starting to set beyond the small town, but the real point of interest would be the strange contents of that one room. Filled with broken manakins of all sizes, their dark eyes staring blankly and liflessly at anything that would wander into the room.

Jack saw something move out of the corner of his eye and mad his way over to where eh thought he had seen it. Weird things were happening and eh wanted to know exactly what. He walked into the room and saw broken things all over. That was just freaky nod Jack was getting second thoughts about traveling here with Irvine. The house started seeming more and more creepier. He looked around and said under his breath, ‘ who there,”

"Do you really want to find out..."
The grim voice was talking from behind a pile of cracked manakin heads on a wide desk across the room from where he was, a set of bright blue eyes peeked through the vacant spaces that once held manakin eyes, blinkins every few seconds. A small rattling noise echoed in the room as the creature pushed over another head not far from where the eyes were looking at Jack.

Jack heard the voice and looked around now this was getting too freaky. Jack saw the blue eyes staring at him. Then another head fell and Jack looked around making sure the creature was the only other thing in there. His eyes settled back onto its eyes. Jack held out his right fist a dagger type blade forming on his knuckles. “ Show yourself. You don’t want to mess with me believe me. .” Jack voice was calm and yet almost cold. He didn’t know if it was some type of beast or a human like thing. He couldn’t be sure. For all he knew it might have a gun or something. He knew he might be in big trouble for threatening whatever it was but he also had a fellow schoolmate somewhere in the house. Jack wondered if this would be classified as something Irvine wouldn’t do. He also wondered where the heck Irvine was anyway. He knew he was searching for books and such. Jack realized he would be on his won most likely if it turned out this creature was dangerous indeed. Jack kept staring into the creatures eyes thinking he might get some hint. The eyes however looked almost like those of cats, which furthered Jacks belief that the thing indeed was some type of beast although maybe a humanoid one. Of course if it was Jack wondered why it was in Irvine’s house. Of course the whole town was scared of Irvine so who knew. Jack looked around at all of the broken manikins. It seemed strange to have a room full of broken ones. Of course the thing appeared to be using them almost as cover or as a hiding place of some sort. Jack realized he might be able to use them to his advantage if the creature attacks. He kept watch on the eyes of the creature starting to wonder if maybe it was just a pet or something. His seriousness left a little as he realized he might just be over reacting. He still kept the dagger blade formed on his knuckles however just in case it really was some type of beast or a threat of some sort. He kept his eyes on it and its location trying o make out what it was.

The eyes widened as a faint laughing sound started to fill the room, they eyed the dagger blade coming out of Jack's hand with little concern in them.
"How typical of you humans..."
The eyes panned off to the side eventually disappearing from their original position, a few rattles and dropped limbs were scattered as the eyes reappeared nearby in another head sitting on a nearly completly hidden bed by the wall to Jack's right. Then the voice continued in it's grim calm tone.
"...You don't really scare me."
The eyes ducked out of sight again as a cracked through head was thrown from behind the pile at Jack.

. Jack’s brain started calculating putting together the clues and information he had. He heard the laughing seemingly coming from all around the room filled with manikin. His eyes shifted around hearing the voice again and seeing the eyes disappear. He heard the thing mock humans then he heard it to his right. He turned around and saw the head flying at him. He instinctively held out his hand a clenched down breaking the manikin as it hit his hand. He then former a small sly smile as he looked back at the eyes. He simply did a cocking motion with his arm and four-arrow type looking blades formed up his right arm. “ If that’s true then you my friend have just made a big mistake,” He said calmly with passiveness his voice. He then brought up his arm shooting two arrow type blades at the set of eyes the to the left of the pile to frighten it. He stepped slightly closer focusing on the creatures eyes.“ Now show yourself or you’ll find yourself in a very, very bad situation,” He said still with calmness but also some coldness as he issued the threat. When his brain processed the situation Jack could easily calm down and keep his eyes emotionless, which quite helped in situations like this. He now guessed the creature was most likely small since he hadn’t noticed it’s movement. It also seemed to enjoy being mischievous and Jack realized it must have dropped the paper airplane on him. He however couldn’t help but smile. He could usually keep a straight face but then eh realized the complete stupidity of the whole thing and Jack quite broke character. “ If you had wanted me hurt you would have taken your chance on the stares. I will not lay a hand on you,” he said smiling slightly withdrawing his blades as he awaited the creatures answer.

As the two blades came flying towards it the creature ducked down while the blades easily enough broke through the back of the head and kept on going into the wall behind, the expression on the eyes was up till now rather calm but after that became somewhat, upset.
"I must say, that girl's going to be very upset when she sees what you did to her wall..."

There was a short pause before foot steps were heard coming up the stairs, they were rather slow almost as if they were looking for something. The eyeful creature popped up yet again to another location behind a few more random pieces of dolls and manakins, then continued on with his taunting remarks.
"So you brought a friend with you, it seems no one tries to enter my house alone anymore... not since the bloody night anyway."

Jack was surprised by what the creature said next. Apparently some girl lived here too or something. Jack wasn’t fully sure of exactly what was happening. Jack looked around and noticed he couldn’t see the creature’s eyes any more. It seemed he had not given up trying to annoy Jack. Yet this time Jack had calmed down. Then Jack heard footsteps coming up the stairs and realized Irvine must have found the library. Jack heard the familiar mocking voice again. He turned to face it and listened to him speak. He must really not know Irvine was here. Jack had already assumed what ever this thing was Irvine probably knew about it or owned it. So it seemed nobody had been there in a while. Of course that would make sense. Irvine’s arrival probably wouldn’t have caused such an emotion if someone from his family had been living at the house. When the thing mentioned bloody night Jack figured he was trying to scare him or over exaggerating most likely. He already figured that the creature must be small so he didn’t think it could have caused enough damage to term a night as a bloody night. Unless of course the creature was the victim but he seemed to be more of trying to scare Jack. He just faced its new location calm still in it’s eyes. “ Actually I have not brought a friend. The owner of this mansion has brought me. Therefore this is not your house and since I am a guest of the real owner that gives me authority over you my friend. Of course you could continue to be rude and try to scare me. But this would be a waste of time, as it won’t happen. But as for this girl you mentioned … is she related to Irvine by any chance?” He asked. He wondered for earlier Irvine had said he would have gotten a long well with his sister and Jack still wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or an insult. He waited for Irvine to enter and the creature to answer. He wasnt sure which would come first. Of course with the way this creature liked to smart mouth he had a bet. He was kind of interested in finding out just what the thing was and why he was so protective of this house. It was an interesting house but if Irvine owned it then who else could be here. Memories tended to resurface at the weirdest time. He remembered back to when he had been in the cafeteria with Demerick, and Clay. Irvine had walked by and said something about eating his family. Everything slowly started forming together but that still left out whom this guy or thing was. It seemed, as he got closer to finding out about this town and Irvine himself the more clues he found. It was interesting how it seemed as if the mystery was almost asking him to find out about it. Of course right now Jack held most of the keys and only a few where missing. Who survived, who was the girl this creature mentioned, and who and what was that creature. Jack waited to see what happened next.

The foot steps finally stopped at the entrance to the room, Irvine stood there with a rather confused look on his face as he saw Jack seemingly talking to the assortment of wooden limbs scattered in piles around the room.
"Who are you talking to?"
Irvine asked Jack inquisitively, not sure as to who, or what, he was asking these questions. Strange things did have a tendancy to happen around there but those same things more often involved Irvine's family line rather than others.

"I don't think those dolls would give you much information about anything."
The light hearted statement was to more or less lighten the mood, it wasn't too often Irvine walked into here even in his past years. It was so, freaky, and it seemed that things like that didn't change. The blue eyes simply blinked a few times at the new arrival to the room. They'r regular expression came back with a quiet 'Oh...'.

It figured Irvine wouldn’t see whatever else was in the room. Jacks ace returned to it’s usual solemn self as Irvine walked in and asked the question Jack looked around again searching for those eyes but didn’t see them this time. He looked over his shoulder at Irvine as he spoke again. That was probably the first time Irvine had ever said something to lighten the mood. That must mean Irvine was a little freaked out him. Jack then saw those eyes again and heard a small oh. It seemed the creature did belong to Irvine or at least his family.. or maybe that girl whoever she was. Jack kept his usual more of serious type tone. “ Your had house is indeed entertain Irvine.,” His voice low and calm in a way, “ So you have any pets I should know about?’. He asked the question pretty sure he knew the answer. This thing whatever it was seemed to be quite concerned about the house. It was however small and with all Jack had seen he didn’t ever put talking animals out of the list of possibilities. It would make sense that a meta-human would own one especially in a giant house like this. Jack wondered if it was some type of dog to go along with the theme of the house. Maybe it was one of the ones in the paintings down stairs he wasn’t fully sure. He however planned to find out.

"I used to have a dog a few years back."
Irvine looked around trying to see what Jack may have been reffering to but small creature was out of his sight, still hideing away in some pile of twisted dolls. Indeed this was a disturbing room, but the person who lived there was also disturbing. Irvine stepped further into the room moving a torn rag doll aside with his foot, he knew that didn't use to be there, the apparent difference in the room was apparent in the way he looked at it.

"What makes you ask something like that?"
The creatures' eyes widened, it was very long since he had seen anyone closely related who wasn't out to pinning him onto the wall. But that didn't mean he was any more happy that anyone had come in.

Jack looked at Irvine as he stepped forward kicking a torn rag doll aside. He looked at the boy. He definitely didn’t seem to thrilled to be returning to this place. It seemed his mind was plagued with bad memories just as was Jack’s. It seemed he and Irvine might actually get a long quite well. Jack wasn’t sure if this was Irvine’s dog. He figured Irvine would have gotten a bigger dog then whatever else was in the room. It seemed the creature was too thrilled to see Irvine either. He could just be trying to make Jack seem crazy but it seemed more as if he was hiding from Irvine not trying to embarrass Jack. Of course if he was trying to embarrass Jack it wouldn’t work that well. Jack didn’t care much about what others thought. As much as his personality had changed he still didn’t care about what others thought that much. Especially since the people he was meeting these days weren’t exactly the most normal people in the world. He however watched as Irvine also looked around the room. The room indeed was quite creepy. This time Jack didn’t see the eyes of the creature either. He looked around and figured he was hidden somewhere in the piles of twisted dolls and manikins. Jack wondered why the heck Irvine’s family even had a room like this in their giant mansion. It didn’t make much sense to him heck it didn’t make any sense to him at all. Jack now guessed the room belonged to the girl the creature had mentioned. Jack also guessed the girl was Irvine’s sister whop he had used as a reference earlier. Jack realized he still didn’t know whether Irvine saying he would have gotten a long well with his sister was a compliment or an insult. It was really starting to seem like an insult if she had all of these weird dolls. Of course Jack couldn’t be sure about anything in this house. He spoke up to Irvine, “ Some type of creature is in here and he was talking to me. I think he is kind of small but I’m not really sure. This is why I ask,” Jack concluded never loosing his solemn calm tone. Jack wondered what kind of family Irvine had to have such a big house so far away. Jack was slowly gaining more and more information about Irvine and jack was pretty sure he was coming quite close to finding out exactly what happened to scare the people so much and who exactly Irvine’s family were. “By the way did you find the library?” Jack added starting to want to leave the creepy house.

"Yeah I found it, though it looks like you found something as well."
Somewhere in the back of his mind Irvine knew what this creature that Jack was talking about was, it just couldn't come out from there and Irvine was as puzzeled as to what it was as Jack. Walking around Irvine was knocking over some things at random and looking behind them, this room was full of strange things and there was no telling what could be there, especially now that the place seemed as if someone was there recently.

Soon after there was a flash of blue and something dashed across the room and into another pile of random parts. This was more than enough to spark Irvine's memory. As he yelled after it.
"Get back here you little blue runt!"

Jack nodded slightly at what Irvine said. It was good that Irvine had found the library but right now they had something else to deal with. Jack was slightly surprised when Irvine started knocking over random things and such. It seemed as if he couldn’t remember what it was either. Then the thing came flying out of a pile like a flash of blue. Then it seemed Irvine knew what it was. As Irvine yelled at it Jack was almost completely sure it was their family pet. Well at least Irvine knew what it was and from the way he talked to it wasn’t that much of a threat. Jack looked to where it had seemingly run off to and made a dash over to the area bursting his hand through the parts trying to grab the creature. If he did get it he wasn’t going to squeeze hard but he would keep it in his grasp. Of course that was if he actually got it. He would have to get hold of it first. He was just hoping that his hand diving through like that was enough of a surprise to catch him off guard. Jack reached for the little blue runt.

Pieces of old wood and plastic flew around the place when Jack punched his way into the pile, actually the whole pile itself fell apart and body parts were scattered over half the floor. Though Jack did indeed get his target but probably not the way he had expected to, his hand managed to grab onto the little creature's tail. Instead of trying to fly away, the small winged cat like creature was hanging upside down from the tail in Jack's hand and giving him a rather discontent look.

"Looks like you caught the little pest."
Irvine stepped nearer until he was beside jack looking at the odd little thing, it hadn't even crossed his mind what sort of reaction Jack may have to seeing something like it, it's not the kind of creature you come across very often.
"Isn't it normally me who dispenses the insults, and you who absourbs them around here?"
The creature had an extremely sarcastic and taunting tone considering the situation it was in.
