As the sun began to set a smile would cross Davis's face as a light snow would begin to fall around him. He liked nights like these, it was peaceful, he was happy that he had started school here so close to winter, he knew that it would make everythying a lot easier on him then it would be had he started at the beginning of the year. There was just something about the cold just seemed to calm him. As he walked across the meadows he would unsheath requiem, it would be the first time that he would practice his swordsmanship since his arrival at AHS. He was long overdue, since he had not had time to train in the time before his departure either, in fact, at this point the only work out he had gotten was in his spar against Rish's friend Jake a few days earlier. Tossing his pack onto a nearby boulder he would hold the blade level whith his chest for a moment, closing his eyes, trying to focus his power. The cool breeze blew his snow white hair about gently, it was almost not visible as the snowfall picked up a bit, it was going pretty heavy by this point. 'Perfect' he thought to himself as he would begin, leaping forwards. The silver short sword would seem to slice through the thickening wall of snow with each swing he would take. At first he was slow in his motions, to any who happened upon him it would look a little bit like he was dancing. Slowly he would begin to increase his speed until it would seem as if he was having a swordfight with an invisible opponent. Each attack filled with rage, after performing a forward jab he leap backwards, kind of like a flip, placing his right hand in the snow to keep himself up as he completed his spin. Pulling himslef upright his body would surround itself in a red light which would channel into his blade. He had just donated a portion of his soul temporarily into Requiem. It was huge now, about the size of his own body, yet somehow still weighed the same as it would in its short sword form. Runes which lined the blade would faintly glow as a small red flame danced its way in a spiral down the blde. Swinging the blade effortlessly infront of him in the shape of an X he would leave that shape before him, seemingly burned into the sky for a moment before the snow would cover it over. He continued on like this for about another half hour before returning his flame soul to him and resheathing Requiem. With a yawn he would lean back against the rock, watching the snow fall around him. He wasn't sure why he was still waiting around, didn't really matter though... |

Leaning against a near by tree upon the edge of the meadow, he watched the training with his hand upon the hand of one of his swords. He was indeed in need for practice himself, but he didn't really see it fit to say anything but draw kumujin. He stared at this short sword and he smirked lightly as he ran two of his fingers along the flat of the blade, seeing the condensation come from the blade. He continued to watch the show and as the stranger sheathed his sword he did the same alittle rougher then normal and a loud 'click' of steel upon brass lip of his sheathe. Mors pulled the hood back upon his cloak and his discolored eyes of a dark steely gray and semi blue gray. The new scar by his eye showed his recent conflict. So practice would be nice and perhaps he'd relax alittle bit more once he started to practice more frequently. So stepping out into the meadow he made his presense more known now, the dark presense was deathly chill even more so with the snow falling and the obvious cold. Mors clapped as this stranger finished and only stopped to bow his head lightly, he never took his gaze from the stranger as he introduced himself, his voice was just as cold as the weather in its bartone manner. "Not bad, my name is Mors. It seems we share a common bond, that we are bound to the blade, who might you be?" ooc: sorry to give you something short, but I'd rather get something in for sport. |

Leaping up from his resting position, almost scared by the appearance of Mors he would unsheath his blade, raising it in the direction of his company. Davis would let out a loud sigh upon realizing what it was that had been approaching him. Resheathing Requiem he would shake his head and return himself to the resting position on the rock he had been sitting at. "Not bad, my name is Mors. It seems we share a common bond, hat we are bound to the blade, who might you be?" "You know, sneaking up on people like that isn't exactly the best way to make friends, especially around here. I was almost ready to attack you right then. Anyways, my names Davis... Davis McGrath. If you are as you say... bound by the blade... why not a test. See if your any good... Removing the sheathed blade from his left hip he would lay the weapon gently against the rock he had been leaning against. Reaching into his pack he would pull out a hatchet, its black blade standing out against the near blizzard that surrounded them. Spinning it quickly in his hand he would smile a little and raise the blade to Mors... "So... what do you say?" ((OOC)) Sorry this took so long ((OOC)) |

Smirking he shrugged off his cloak, two sheathes upon his back and two on his thighs were seen. He drew the short sword Kumujin and a unique wakazashi. He nodded, "Very well...Nice to meet you." Looking at the hatchet and sword he figured now that this person had some skill and was not going to be disappointed at all when this came into full play. Mors stepped a bit away from his cloak and extended out his wakazashi, edge to the sky, his other sword close to his side. He stood very relaxed, yet ridgid as he waited for his opponent to ready himself. The cold kept him alert and the feeling of getting some good practive got his heart going. He was interested to see how this may turn out. |

Taking a step back he would flip the hatchet in his hand. He wasnt going to waste any time with this. He had already been warming up, now it was time for the sparks to fly... literally. Focusing himself for a moment his body would become engulfed in a yellow light, slowly narrowing it down until it covered only the hatchet. What was once a small black bladed hatchet was now a black bladed halberd, sparks of lightning danced across the weapon as he slowly would spin it within his hands. He was counting on this being a quick fight, this was the last time that he could use a soul charge without a long rest. He was immediatly regretting using Absolution insted of Requiem, he was far more skilled with swords, not to mention it took more energy to hold this charge. He would stare at Mors for a moment before leaping into the air, normally he would warn a sparing partner of his advance beforehand as to not cause any damage by surprise attacks, but he didn't really care this time. As he would come down above Mors it would appear to his opponent that the halberd had turned into a giant lighting bolt, regardless of the outcome of that attack he would waste no time spinning the giant weapon infront of him like a fan before quickly leaping back a few feet to spring into a lunge attack. He was just playing with him for now, soon enough he would start to try.. He just hoped he didn't lose control of his power. It had only been a short while since he had been able to transform Absolution as well as Requiem and he was still a little unsure of his abilities, but he didn't have much time to think about that now, he had already gotten ahead of himself. ((OOC)) So sorry this took so long, holidays are hectic ((OOC)) |

Feinting to the side, he watched the halberd move past him as he slid down moving in a fast motion inside the guard of the larger weapon. He turned the flat of his blade towards his opponent and would go to run the flat of the blade along his side as he whipped around behind him and turned to face his back. Only to bring his other blade into play aimming a shallow cut upon his back. He hopped back and sheathed his wakazashi and pulled what seemed to be a folded staff from the small of his back. And using his thigh to open it he locked it into place and smirked as the serated scythe blade then sprang forward. He was no stranger to using such a mix of weapons. He fould then he would enjoy this little match. (ooc: no worries) |

Davis would let out a small grunt of pain as the second blade cut a small gash in his back, he had only narrowly avoided the first strike. After stumbleing forward a few feet he would use the giant Halberd to regain his balance and turn once again to face his opponent. He couldnt help but laugh as he saw his opponent take out the small folded staff from his back and transform it into a scythe. Although it was one of the most origional things he had ever seen, it looked a little rediculous. He would have to be very cautious from this point on, he had never before fought against anybody weilding a scythe. And after thinking about it for a moment he had never seen or heard of anybody wielding a scythe before either, well apart from the myths of the grim reaper, and he was sure that this being was not he. Taking a few steps forwards he would hold his gigantic weapon infront of him and laugh again, he wasnt even sure why. "Well thats a clever little trick you've got there. Very entertaining, I'm still not impressed though... " This was close to a lie, he was slightly impressed by the contraption, very origional. This was the last wasted thought that would flow through his mind before he readied himself for another attack. As he would dig his feet into the ground the air around his entire being would fill with electric energy. After a moment of watching he would push himself off the ground again and rush at his foe. His first strike in this combo would be a simple jab, he wanted to try and move him off balance. Quickly pulling out of this he would slash in a diagonal motion from his upper right to lower left before raising it back to chest level and repeating this attack from the opposite direction. |

Mors continued to smirk as he spun his scythe around swiftly only to pound the butt of it into the ground. Having it land in the direct path of the jab, only to lift it and with a shallow arc he would catch the blade of his scythe in the blade of the halberd, yanking it to the ground as a tendril of darkness seemed to wrap about the scythe and ground any electricity that went into the scythe. He swung his short sword into the center of the halberd, with direct intent to knock it from his hand. Mors moved his body with the swing to put some good power into the motion as he side stepped and backed away, bringing his scythe back as steam rose from the scythe and a large dry spot was seen upon the ground where all the energy had been grounded he moved back some more and sheathed his sword and took his scythe into both of his hands, spinning it about quickly he snapped it to his side and moved into a comfortable defensive stance. "Impressive use of electricity but as you see...Not enough. Shall we continue?" Mors' smirk grew for a moment as he relaxed his stance and leaned on the scythe in a mocking fashion, he was happy to see that this could turn into a very good spar indeed. |

((OOC)) Hah, it wasnt that bad of a post XD ((OOC)) He would hold on tightly as Mors attempted to knock the halberd from his hand, pulling it in slightly towards his body. As the two of them broke apart he would leap back a few feet and raise his halberd to a defensive stance, much as his opponent had done. He was trying to think of an attack to do, something special since his normal attacks didn't seem to have any effect on his opponent. Suddenly it would hit him, a sly smile crossing Davis's face as he would slowly bring himself into an upright position. As he prepared for his attack the lightning surrounding his blade and body would begin to intensify again. All the while he was debating in his mind if this attack was actually a good idea or not. His father had taught it to him as a sword attack, but from replaying it in his mind it would work the same for his halberd, except the speed may be slightly less. Pushing hard off the ground he would start to run towards Mors, he didn't want to think anymore, just fight. As he reached his opponent he would plant his right foot into the ground before he would send the halberd into his signature flurry of attacks, each performed one after the other with extreme speed. First horizontal from right to left, then the opposite way, a quick adjustment of his hands would bring the weapon above his head in a vertical drop strike which would quickly be transformed into a rising vertical strike. Next would be two diagonal strikes forming an X through the cross he had just created first from top right to bottom left then bottom right to top right. The ending to this combo would be the same as the ending strike of his first attack, a clean and quick jab through the center of all his previous attacks. The electricity from the blade would seem to burn this pattern into the air as Davis would pull away. |

Mors crossed his weapons infront of himeslf and as he watched Davis charge forward he stepped back and dropping down as the first blow came it cut the air, the same would be said about the second attempt as he moved back avoiding the blade. As the other attacks came at him he straffed from side to side as he held his sword in his mouth then, he would then step in as the halberd came in a thrust. Grabbing it firmly he pulled Davis into the butt of his scythe as he slid it between their weapons and turned sharply, using this momentum to his advantage to propel him over his shoulder into the snow packed ground. Spining his scythe behind him he aimmed to stomp Davis' chest as he lay there, he hoped that Davis would move so that the fight would continue he liked the way this boy fought. So as his foot would touch he would move back quickly pushing off the ground. Sliding back he would remove his sword from his mouth and sheathed it, watching davis as he did so. Speed would be no leverage for either of them as they were both very fast, but there was always more to be pushed to its limit. Always something not unleashed. |

He was running out of options to fight this opponent using Absolution, he was still very unskilled with this weapon, polearms were not his specialty. He was far better suited in fighting with his short sword Requeim, and he felt that it was time to get serious and pull this weapon option. It would allow him to move and act faster, he would become a much more fierce opponent in just a few short seconds. Moving out of the way of Mors's foot attack he would use Absolution to vault himself into the air and a good distance away from his opponent. He needed to release his thunder soul and return Absolution to its hatchet form before he could pull Requiem. Closing his eyes for a moment the air around both of them could be felt as it began to thicken and fill with electric energy. Raising the halberd into the air above his head he would spin the gigantic weapon he would thrust the blade into the ground. Several pulses of electricity would erupt from the ground around him in all directions, leaving the ground behind them bare of snow. In the confusion Davis would find himself pulling the hatchet from the ground and resheathing it at his right hip before reaching around his body to the left side and pulling Requiem from its sheath. It was time to get serious. Before Mors could have a chance to regain himself and track Davis again he was already being attacked. It was the same as the last attack he had performed with the halberd, only much harder and much faster. This technique had been created with the use of this weapon in mind after all. Flashing his oponent a smile he would send the short sword into his signature flurry of attacks, each performed one after the other with extreme speed. |

Same attack...Interesting...Mors thought as he dodged and weaved once more, drawing his sword he used his scythe blade and his sword like a large set of shears. He brought them up to catch his sword in their grasp for a moment enough to deliver a blow into his side with his knee. Twisting the swords down he'd aim to knee him once more in the direct center of his thigh as he moved back then to get into position for his own counter. Sliding the scythe back abit in his hand he swung horizontally only to thrust his sword forward in a slight jab turning the rest of the momentum forward for a short diagonal cut towards his face, a small maim, he hopped back and bit and slid back, the snow melting as he moved back as the energy that radiated from his body began to rise. Sheathing his sword, he crouched slightly holding the handle tightly as he waited to see the reaction. ooc: my mind isn't working...brain fart all the way. |

Davis wasnt expecting anything so sudden from Mors, it was like he decided just then to step the battle up a notch, he was hit by the first knee, thrown off balance a little bit. Holding onto Requiem tightly he would swing the blunt edge just fast enough to bash away the second knee that was coming at him. He took the moment that he gained back from this to prepare for the next set of attacks. He was able to move out of the way of most of them pretty easily, all except for one that was. The next thing he knew there was blood dripping from his face. The very center of his right cheek had been slashed by Mors's final sword attack. Holding onto his cheek with his right hand he would watch his opponent pull back and resheath his blade. The pain searing through his face was immense, and for a moment Davis thought about ending the fight. Blood pouring from a gash on your face was a good enough reason, right? It was then that he remembered what Rish had said to him a few days earlier about giving up.... DONT DO IT! As that thought clicked into mind he would release his wound, letting the blood flow slowly and freely down his face. He wasn't afraid of Mors anymore, he was already in pain so a little more wouldnt hurt any. He began to charge... He held the blade tightly in his right arm, it was hanging down to his side, just back a little as he ran. As he closed the distance between the two he would swing the blade with as much might as his right arm could muster, aiming it at his chest. He hoped that his opponent would kock the blade back, he was prepared. Pulling absolution back out from its sheath he would aim a quick slash towards Mors's left cheek, aiming to give him a little gift in return for the one that he had just been given. Absolution was able to move much faster then it had during the first part of their fight. It was no longer a halberd, but was back to its natural form, that of a small black bladed hatchet. |

He was waiting for the attack and it came. Swift and precise, Mors unlocked the staff portion of his scythe on the go, and used it's more compact size to deflect the first blow. Using it's own momentum, how ever the small spray of coagulated blood that sprayed onto Davis as the second blade connected got a grunt and being again in close quarters. A swift knee into his ribcage and using the unlocked staff portion like a cuff he went to catch on to his arm, to send him back into the packed snow. But this time his sword followed, quickly from its case once more, but not to kill or maim because that was not their intent. THUMP! The flat portion of his blade would have landed right next to the cheek he cut, so close that the blood could have clinged to it.The score was even and Mors had not felt such a rush like this in some time. The thick blood stopped bleeding and began to dry with the cold air. He pulled his sword out of the ground and walked back a few paces and looked at Davis. The burn on his cheek was fading as he focused more on watching how this boy learned. The edge of his sword was to the sky as he took a deep breath. Mors put his scythe away,"Very good, you still need more technique...Too much of the same motion. Easy to predict, let your motions be more fluid. I'm sure your teacher has said such things?" Mors wanted to continue and so his other hand went up and he gripped his sword tightly, changing position, the tip of the sword was level with his eyes as he lowered his stance slightly to compensate for the short blade. He waited then to see what Davis would do. |
