((ooc: Before I begin I would like to say that I have asked Zero to start the following thread. This an extension of the main SL in progress.))

Four students, Errian, Lupis, Brian, and Mitsuki, had been taking to be enlightened as the supposed mad man, Mishima, had put it. They seemed alright, but who could be certain now adays. With so many meta-humans with such powerful talents, and Mishima was one of those people who had powerful talents there could be trouble. Still what was actually happening and what he meant by enlightenment was beyond one of the visitors, Greg.

Keeping careful guard over his friends, for they were all his friends, though he only knew Brian, he attended them to best of his ability. These people were family to Teo, but Greg wasn’t so sure if he was attached to them in that way as his friend was. Still all people who had been innocently hurt, or even potentially innocently hurt, were his friends; furthermore, all of the students were his friends, even the people he didn’t like all that much. His friends were all in four separate beds, and attended by nurses. Still there was nothing that could be done by those nurses, as they had tried everything they could with little to no results. Even Greg had tried to help, with his fairly expansive knowledge on herbalism, but with little results. Quite simply Greg and the nurses had run out of options, whatever this was, was beyond them.

All Greg could do is wait impatiently, and so he sat down in a chair that was usually reserved for friends and family and waited. Every once in a while he would get up and pace around the beds instinctively looking at each of his friends. He had quickly gathered some late blooming flowers from his own garden, and placed them in vases arround each of their beds. With his magic he had grown them to look like they were in their summer prime.

For a few moments he would quite briefly making sure that their vital signs were indeed working, much to the displeasure of some of the nurses. With even an irregular pulse he would call for the nurses, for he was too afraid to help them himself even though he could. They were his friends, but he was scared to take responsibility for them, especially if they didn’t make it through this turmoil. In fact he was wondering if he was a coward.

There was someone else in that room almost on the same wavelength as Greg at that moment, only she would never call herself a coward. No, this time, she was doing a favor for a friend of hers. Apparently, this girl meant something to Shia, so Cristy, true to her word, stayed right by her bed. Fenrir however, rested at the foot of the bed, just waiting for when it would be leaving the area, and staring at all the help that was employed in this department.

Something just didn't feel right about all this to her. Why would a previously confirmed threat to the place come back here with no intent on attacking any of the students. If anything, they would be the biggest thorn in his side. And what was up with Mori coming out and fighting for once? In the years she's been here, he's never stepped up and took any sort of assertive stance against anything, at least not to the level he just did.

But most importantly, what in the hell happened to this girl, and the three other people that had been quote unquote "saved?" Something just didn't seem right, so what did she do in a situation like this? She pulled out her cell phone and called the only person she could trust to look over a situation like this. And since there was someone that he knew involved in this, she doubted that even he would pass this up.

"Hey, nerd boy. Get over to the school, some really weird crap's going on around here. Nah, they'll know sooner or later, Sage is on his way over now."

As soon as she hung up, she started hearing Fenrir growling at something, or in a case like this, more like someone. Greg was reaching out to Mitsuki for something, but all he would see is the tip of a pearl white lance between his hand, and where he was going to check her signs. As far as she was concerned, Mitsuki was still her responsibility, and last she knew, he wasn't employed by the school.

"I'm sure she'll appreciate the flowers, but I'd move that hand of yours back a bit before you find a hole in the middle of it. I'm keeping watch over this one, per an authority a little bit higher then yours."

The other girl, he had nearly forgotten about her and the strange mechanical dog. Mostly because he was such a one track minded person when he got into a panic situation like this, and the other thing being that he really didn’t feel like talking to anyone right now unless he had to. There was way too much stuff going on his mind to worry about frivolities such as meetings and greetings of people he had never met before. In fact he completely missed that phone call, and the growl of the dog.

He stopped immediately, and pulled back stiffly. It wasn’t cowardice or fear, but respect for the girl that was also there for her friend, and apparently very protective of her. Scowling he looked at her as quick as a shot, and then sank back into his regular self. He wasn’t hostile, just annoyed, and he felt no need to fight anyone over such a frivolous matter, but yet he wanted some respect as well that he had given her.

“Whose?” It was slightly flat, “Whose authority?” He tried to keep his voice as boring and emotionless as possible, but keep it a challenge none the less. It was a delicate procedure, but he wanted to see what he could get away with and what he couldn’t, and so he offered this challenge. Just not an affront he hoped that would not get a spear lodged through his spleen. Was this information even worth the question? probably not, but it would do from keeping him from going insane.

He took a brief look to the girl that he felt like he should be caring for, and then turned back to Mitsuki. This felt odd, being restrained through threats of a patient’s well being, and yet he did nothing about it. While odd he trusted this person, and he continued on his rounds checking the others. If Mitsuki had any problems he would get the nurses as soon as possible, other than that he let this unbeknownst to Greg goddess take care of Mitsuki. He would take care of the others, and he did so. He checked again the remaining three quickly, this was whole thing was surprisingly routine, and made him get all that much more antsy about it. Patience for such an important as this wasn’t his forte, and he knew it. Now a garden he could do with his eyes closed.

((not my best post. Sorry.. o.O))

After watching most of the students step through the portal, Shia quickly made her way to the nurse’s office. The temptation to follow in to the portal was strong. However, she felt it to be more important to be by the side of her friends. Already she felt bad for not accompanying Mitsuki to the nurse’s office. Some of that guilt was lowered with the knowledge that Cristy was with her. She had plans to introduce the two, but not under such depressing circumstances. Even now, she wasn’t able to imagine what could have possibly happen to the four that had fallen unconscious.

Shia didn’t pay much attention to anyone as she walked in to the office. In fact, she barely heard when one of the nurses called after her. A bit distracted with the thoughts of getting to her friend, she turned to face the nurse that was already getting on her nerves. It took a few moments of explaining, and pissy attitude on Shia part before the nurse left her alone. Whether or not her voice carried over to where the other students were being kept was unknown. If it had, she would be surprised. In her opinion, she thought she had managed to keep her voice from going over a yell.

No longer with the hassle of the nurse. Shia walked to where the students were being kept. She instantly noticed all four of them laying on beds. Cristy, as she had promised, was sitting next to Mitsuki. If there was one thing Shi never had to doubt, it was that Cristy would keep her word. She waited for Cristy’s attention to wonder over to her presence in the room. When Cristy would look at her, Shia Mouthed a silent thank you before walking over to Errian’s bed.

She brushed the blonde hair back and gazed at his motionless body. What the hell had happened to her friends? With a sigh, she looked up and found her gaze on another boy that was in the room. She hadn’t noticed him in the courtyard; but then again, she was too angry to notice much of anything. He was probably here for the same reason that she was here... to help the four that had been targeted. She had no words to say to him, so she simply nodded before walking over to where Mitsuki lay. Shia was afraid to touch her because he knew that when she did, Mitsuki would not respond.

“Let me guess. No signs of anything since they have been brought here.” She said. The words were not directed towards anyone. They just hung there in the air for anyone, or no one to answer.

Sarah had heard right that people were being allowed to see those injured in the battle so she had turned back and grabbed her flowers and candy. She had heard that there were four injured in all so she decides to go back to the store to get flowers for everyone. It would not have been nice if she only showed up with stuff for Brian. Everyone was hurt and deserved to be respected as well.

At the nurse’s office this time she had no trouble getting to the room. In fact she had been escorted to the exact room. Looking into the room she already saw others in the room. At least she wouldn’t be alone and maybe they would want some of the candy she had brought for herself. Normally she would not have been scared to walk into the room with strangers but, they were not all strangers. Sarah only hesitated for a moment before she went into the room because she saw Greg who she knew from last year.

As she walked in she set the flowers next to the flowers that were already there. Sarah left the candy and card next to the flowers she had left for Brian. It looked like nothing had improved for anyone. Sighing she took a seat next to Greg and took her backpack off of her bag. In it she had packed sandwiches and books to read. She planed to stay here as long as it took for Brian to get better. Sarah would have said something to the others in the room but she figured it was best not too.

"Whose authority? A mutual friend's authority, that's who. She asked me to keep an eye on her, and unless something serious happens to her, that's what I'm gonna do."

Like Greg, the tone in Cristy's voice was as emotionless as possible, due to the immediate circumstances. If it was under any other conditions, she would most likely have moved to the side and let him do whatever he needed to do, but this concerned her friend. Apparently, she meant something to Shia, and she made a note to ask her about who she was. Well, to be honest, she mentally had one of her nanomachines record a message, and had it set to bring this up at a later date.

By the time she had finished, she heard a bit of an uproar near the nurses station. It couldn't be him yet, she just made the call to where he was in Domino. Then she looked over and saw that Shia was indeed having it out with the employees, just as she thought she would. Who knew that two people ready to beat the holy hell out of each other at one time would turn out to be such good friends down the road? They've had their experiences, but Cristy was extremely greatful that she had someone to talk to at the level that her and Shia were at, though she'd probably never admit to it.

Then she saw the words "thank you" come from her mouth, which might have shocked her if she had never met the girl before. Even though they haven't been hanging out much lately, sometimes people could just read one another. As she finished looking over another boy in a nearby bed, Cristy retracted her lance, replaced it back into its holster and mentally told Fenrir to heel. She also stepped to the foot of the bed so that Shia could stand beside Mitsuki. She probably needed to have some clarity of mind throughout all this, so this was the least she could do.

"No, nothing at all changed, even in the slightest. Hey, she's here now, you can do what you were going to to earlier, I guess..." That's when her attention was briefly drawn towards the other girl who arrived. It looked like she was there for the third person who had been knocked unconscious, but except for Greg's little examination, Lupis was left alone. Cristy just sighed at that moment. This was all over her head, and just thinking about everything over and over was starting to drive her crazy.

"Just what in the hell is going on here? Who was that guy out there, why did he do this to the four of them... And why did it have to go to this extreme?"

Nodding he decided it was better not to get into an argument with the almost obsessed girl. It just was not worth it, and if there was something wrong with the others he doubted that there would be a difference in this girl’s condition as well. It was just a hypothesis, but it seemed logical enough. As logical as anything else could be in this situation.

“That is good enough for me,” his voice a little bit warmer though shaky. It was odd, but he had to back down on this one when every single nerve in his body told him not to. Logic was never a strong part of Greg, but this wasn’t logic; it was common sense.

He barely paid attention to the two that had came through the door. Though as soon as he gave both of them a second glance he was shocked to realize that he recognized not one, but both of them. The first one was Shia, a girl that he talked to close to nine months ago. It was a while, but he recognized the girl that hummed a son over a year ago that awoke him from a tree and summoned a pixie that played in his hair. Had it really been that long ago?

Greg made vowed to never let his friends grow so distant ever again. Perhaps if it had not been so long and if they let him he would be able to reconnect again with his friends.

The other he was less enthusiastic about to meet. The girl Sarah that he had assumed had died in November, and had left his now unconscious friend Brian in a state of near madness. Where she had been and what she had done.

Ignoring Sarah completely he smiled at Shia.

“Hello … Shizuka,” he smiled weakly, the situation did not need smiles. “It has been a long time hasn’t it since I saw you last. More than a year I think.” Some of the memory was gone, but he remembered it in some detail. The clear night and the pixie, and the song and the meeting near the willow. There was something about that time that reminded him of a much happier time.

And then the question of Christy’s brought him right back to normal. Reminding him that now was not then, and that he had to redeem himself to himself and then to his friends, and perhaps later scowl at a cat.

“A man,” he turned around to face the girl again, “His name is Mishima did this. Apparently he wanted to awake the students for something or another.” There was bitter sarcasm in his voice at this point about the awakening. “Why, he continued, “is beyond me.” There was a pause. “Well I have an idea,” he backtracked again, “Mishima hates Principle Mori,” continuing on, “I think he wants revenge against him, and wants to put the students against them.”

Sighing he looked upon his patients again. Could this hypothesis be correct? He didn’t know, but he had to guess. Guessing was better than not knowing, or at least feeling useless.

Greg had just ignored her so, she ought to do the same but that wouldn't change things at all. She sighed and put her book down. It was now time to face him and tell him she was sorry.

"Greg, I'm sorry for just disappears and you know just ignoring me is not going to help that fact. I'm here now for Brian. If that's not enough, I'm sorry."

Emily than picked her book back up and went on reading.

Red against white, Brian’s form lay in the hospital bed in the slowly increasingly crowded room. Eyes closed, missing on events that would tear at his heart and remind him of the very past that had suspicion cast upon it. Everything was so dim in this place, his mind between states, not yet conscious but not aware either.

The covers pulled up to his chin, the cold metal of Tlachtga for once pried from his fingers and set carefully nearby. Brian was defenseless and weak, a situation he would never have let himself fall into willingly. The edge was off his face, breathing easy, a quick gasp brushed though him before returning to the serene exterior.

The wait for those in the nurse’s office must have been terrible, hours passed with no sign of ever awakening. That was still the second gasp of the evening came from Brian, He convulsed lifting off the bed feeling each needle and diagnostic tool reading his body. It felt like he was being invaded though his groggy eyes he started to rip each cord and needle from his body.

Brian was moving quickly ripping taped sensors with fur, pulling out needles that were in his arteries. He was panicked, not thinking a single coherent though; his last memories stemmed from being blasted by a powerful spell. He was in danger in a bad place that he had to escape but there were so many cords.

Alarms started sounding with Brian’s personal fight with every cord on his body. Everything felt out of place. Even Brian’s own powers started flickering on him, his eye pattern changed rapidly. He saw the energy of the people coming, then the slightest detail of the nurses and doctors coming. His hazy eyes were tunneled on as he looked about.

Why was he here! Brian’s eyes traced over the other figures in the room. Greg was here but he was dead and gone!? No matter he didn’t like the people coming while a spurt of blood released from a pulled needle he shouted

“Greg don’t let them near me! Keep them away!”

Lupis groaned slightly in his sleep. He was trapped in a minor personal nightmare. His last clear memory was Mishima's attack flying at his head, and after that was just a fuzzy darkness. He could feel, aside from Mishima's power probing into his brain, the demon suddenly fighting for control. His mind was, in other words, being subjected to attempts at alteration, domination, and general dickery. The combined result was far from pleasant.
He suddenly sat up as, with one final burst of pure stubbornness, he reasserted his right to control his own body. The scenery was lost on him almost entirely, beyond the fact that the room seemed to be spinning. Quite wildly, too. He was forcefully reminded of some of the more violent rollercoasters he had ridden in his life; because someone seemed to have combined them all into one twisted mass of nausea-inducing G-forces and strapped his bed onto the track. The little part of his mind that was awake enough to have conscious thoughts was rather grateful that a decent length of time seemed to have passed since his last meal. It had porbably tasted quite good the first time down -or at least been passable, had he gotten it from the cafeteria- but he felt no real desire to taste it twice.
Vague thoughts started swimming through his head in a wobbly fashion as the whirling of the room slowed from, for example, an F5 tornado to a gentle F1. These thoughts took the shrewd, if muzzy, form of questions. Questions such as "Where the hell am I?", or "What in God's name happened?" and "Who do I have to kill for this?". He was fairly certain he wasn't dead, because there was no way a corpse could feel this bad.
"Where...?" He managed, finding his vocal chords after a thankfully brief mental search of his body.

He shrugged off what Sara had said. There was nothing more that he could say to her, and so he tried to act nonchalant, but he wasn’t so. The girl had pushed Brian over the deep end, and although he had gotten better eventually it was hard to forget something like that, and it wasn’t his place to judge her in whether he should forgive or not.

“I can’t ask for anything more,” and that was all he could say, as he leaned into his corner and waited. What more could he do, and he closed his eyes and let it be. If he was not allowed to wander around them, and try to make himself feel busy or in control then all he could do was wait, reflect, and perhaps meditate.

He never fell asleep in the sense of going through the sleep cycles, but he relaxed and he didn’t realize that Brian had awoken up until he heard the cords being snapped and such. As soon as that happened he leaped up, but the nurses and doctors blocked him as they went through to him. They definitely had seniority over him and there was nothing he could do about it, but he could see him and he guessed that it was vice versa.

“Calm down Brian. They are trying to help you, and I won’t let them do anything other than that.”

It was odd, but he wasn’t panicking anymore. The waiting was actually much worse then the actual event itself, and now that he was done he felt more in control over himself. Soon the doctors and nurses dissipated as Lupis also woke, so he walked over beside Brian. The remaining almost panicking nurses that were trying to also calm down Brian were doing the best they could, but he guessed that they didn’t know Brian well enough to realize that he would probably panic if they strangled, and it would take a lot of people to calm Brian down. More people then they had, and Greg had the advantage of the environment.

“You’ll be fine. Your alive and that is what matters,” and Greg truly believed that.

Sarah was pissed that Greg had just again ignored her, but there was nothing she could do about it. She was sure he was pissed off at her for leaving Brian alone like that, but she was here now and wasn’t going to leave until Brian told her she wasn’t wanted anymore. She dreaded the day but she was sure it would come soon, but for now she would just be happy he wasn’t dead yet.

She had just put down her magazine and was about to pick up another one when she heard Brian call out to Greg for help. For a moment she was sad he didn’t say her name but than again she remembered how she had been gone for about a year so she didn’t deserve something like that, for him to think of her first. All she cared about was the he was alive and awake even if he was panicking. Sarah had always been able to calm him down before; she hoped it would still work now.

Even though Greg most likely didn’t want her anywhere near him she went and stood right next to him as sure as the doctors and nurses left. He had patches of fur missing from where he had pulled out his cords. It reminded her of the first time she confessed her love for him, he had been hurt than too. Actually Brian seemed to get himself in danger all the time, but he always did it for the sake of others not for himself.

“Hey, Brian this is Sarah. I promise everything will be ok. You’ll be just fine. I’m glad you’re awake.”

She put her hand in his hand just holding it. She didn’t know if it would calm him down or not, but it was worth a try. All she wanted to do was help.

Greg didn’t stop them; he betrayed Brian’s trust in that moment. Brian dropped the feeling of abandonment rushed into his veins in the same pulse that the sedative was pulsing into his veins courtesy of the nurse staff. Brian’s mind dimmed luckily the school’s medical records were somewhat up to date on the circumstances around Brian’s physiological makeup.

Brian was being told over and over to calm down, that everything was okay. That while he felt like the nurses and doctors were invading his body. Attempting to kill him or change him again, they didn’t deserve that right. He started to focus inwards, safeguarding his own body at least that was what he thought he was doing now. Energy moved about internally, the feeling of doing something in his own defense was good enough,

While the other students started to awake the crowd around his now still form thinned. On one side Greg approached, he was sick at the thought his trust had been so betrayed. By yet another friend who had left him at one point, now he was talking like Brian was the one who almost died and been gone for so long.

Brian turned away from Greg, and found another face that he didn’t expect. Especially not here, when things had gotten tough Sarah had vanished. This couldn’t be but there she was, warmth was upon his hand. Energy still in flux moving about at he tried to make sense though the haze the drug was putting on.

Still though he clutched Sarah’s hand, he was scared. Whatever was happening and whatever had happened. The first time he’d been so physically weakened and the first time friends had shown up, for him.

“Stay with me… I don’t want to be alone…please both of you.”

His voice weakened by the mind-dimming drug, he turned to see Greg and Sarah however his eyes turned towards a coming doctor. Hidden within an extensive glamour spell. Brian saw them both as they walked forward the façade and the truth. One holding a clipboard of short brown hair, dark skin and a build that matched Greg’s. The truth a much larger creature, shirtless marred with deep scars, the sliver shifting eyes glared down at Brian as he reached the foot of his bed.

Anthony “Excuse me. Thank you for calming him”

Anthony his blue hair trailing behind the fake image of the glamour, Brian looked confused how such a larger man hid inside a smaller image. Anthony sat on the edge of Brian’s bed and in mock as much as the façade seemed to be checking Brian’s vitals and his reaction to the sedative. Brian was too stunned to speech, too dull now to move in defense, too scared to make note of this beast’s truth. Anthony leaned in while the façade worked its tricks for the room. He spoke in but a whisper.

Anthony “Now, people are in danger Brian, things have been set in motion because of your snooping. Lilith isn’t pleased with me or the fact you let yourself be played like a pawn. Head to Rome, Lilith has opened her second lair for you. Learn quickly about what you need to do. Or, your friend’s will all be buried with that precious alter you keep. Not by Lilith’s hands either but by the taskmaster you’ve decided to serve.”

Anthony stood, as did the façade, while it smiled to Greg. Anthony gave Brian a slit throat expression. They both left after that; seemingly normal under the dark cloud that Brian’s sight had allowed him to see. The dimming drug now faded like it had all been set up for this meeting.

Brian squeezed Sarah’s hand lightly; concerned about everything he had been forced to swallow. Lilith wasn’t the only one out for his usage, and his only course was to walk into the lion’s den if he planned on ever finding out about what was going on around him.

“Brian relax.”

In all honesty that was his full concern. Greg actually didn’t want Brian to be apart of her life right now nor vice versa. While he was not all that happy with Sarah; he couldn’t say he hated being around her, of course the timing of her arrival and Brian’s sickness was pretty bad, there was nothing else that could be said.

Smiling again, he was glad he was wanted. Not that he thought he would be wanted after he had to leave as well, for about five months or so, but there was nothing he could do about that, and it was not like he dropped off the face of the planet.

And yet she loved him, still. By the looks of things, and it made him wonder about this thing. This idea, that is unrequited love, and he had to smile, and feel sad. In a way it was terribly romantic, and Greg was terribly romantic to a fault most of the time. While he wasn’t duey eyed, but he sighed a large smile. Yet in a way he had love, love from his friends, and that was good enough. There was a good reason that he believed the people of Anime High School to be his friends, and an even better reason for Teo to see why he called them his family.

“Thank you, Brian,” he whispered, “thank you for forgiving me. I don’t think I deserve it really.”

He had left Brian, his best friend, cold out to dry. He had heard whispers that there was even a statue of Greg somewhere, because he had felt so heart broken. While he could not promise that he would be there always he needed to do his best to try and be the best.

Now Greg did not see anything next, though he noticed something different. He was staring at one doctor, and seemed to be only interested in him, while before he was frantic. He was calming down, but there seemed something in Brian that was new. Fear perhaps, but Greg couldn’t see why. He was not gifted in that sort of second sight, and Greg shrugged it off as if it were nothing. After all, the good doctor seemed very nice enough, although he must be new. Greg had never seen him before in his life.

“Soon you’ll feel much better. The worst of it is over,” but Greg still worried about Mishimina and what he had done to Brian. Attacks on Brian, especially mental attacks were dangerous, at least that was Greg thought. They shared the same weakness, but Brian looked all right.

Smiling now to Sarah, he was glad she was here. Well no matter about before. If Brian found it in his heart to forgive Sarah, then Greg could find it in his heart to stop treating her awkwardly.

Lupis settled back into the large pillow that was at the head of his bed. He was in the hospital wing, he had gathered that much. He felt more than a little angry at Mishima for attempting invade his mind like that -- 'angry' was an understatement, really. He probably would have beaten the crap out of Mishima if he had the chance, or at least made a valiant effort to do so. The attack had left him feeling thoroughly in need of a decent night's sleep. And given the success of Zoan's attacks, he probably wouldn't have stood much chance against Mishima. He wanted to know what had happened after he had blacked out, and felt slightly irked that no one was telling him anything.
As he heard the minor commotion from further down the room, Lupis raised his head a little bit. He blinked as he saw Brian in one of the beds -- so at least he hadn't been the only one to get telepathically pimp-slapped, it seemed. He thought briefly of trying to talk to the red-furred student, but dismisssed the idea. Brian seemed rather panicky at the moment, and he was likely to be occupied by other things once he calmed. At least if the girl by his bed was any indication. Besides, Lupis didn't feel like raising his voice enough to hold a conversation from several beds away.
He let his head flop back down as one of the doctors started talking to Brian, wearing a small frown. He hadn't even had a chance to fight back. That was what bugged him the most. He didn't like having to fight, but it was still one of the things he was really good at. To not even have a chance at resistance...
He wondered if there were any way he could build up his defenses in that area. Short of having people trying to break into his mind repeatedly, of course. That thought sent shudders down his spine.
