Amaya waited for her teacher to arrive. She had on a grey tank top, black pants, and black ballet slippers. She wanted to learn to fight more then anything. She sat patiently on a rock waiting for her teacher to come. She had asked him where they would meet and he had told her Dragoon Mountain. Now she hoped she hadnt scared him away making him think her too clingy. She was excited about training, but now worry made her eyes a stormy grey colour. She felt like crying but held it in. She needed to calm herself.
She got up off the rock and decided while she waited she'd dance. She started humming a song that seemed to go with the beats of the wind blowing through the trees. She then started slowly and started dancing gracfully with the trees to a song of her own design. The only thing that gave made her happy was dancing. As she danced and twirled in the air with her jumps her eyes turned a redish brown, like she was in a trance.
Soon she was completly consumed by her song and dance. A small real smile slipped through. She was at peace. She had forgotten the troubles and worries of the school. All that exsited to her was the music and the beat.
As she continued to dance her song grew louder. The world wasnt even a subconciouse thought as she slipped deeper into her way of coping with the world. Dancing. Her hair was tied up in a braid that wipped around her as she dance. Her eyes half closed. She knew of nothing that was happening around her.

Brian lagged though the woods, almost like he was taking in many of the Tree and plant life. Like if pausing among them would give him the insight to teaching another student of anime high to defend themselves against any danger or insanity that might come along. He came to a stop finally, when a huge tree was in his path, he’d wandered off his beaten trail in his state of mind.

Looking around the side of the tree He saw another smaller tree, growing in a twisted manner away from the large tree. The symbolism inspired him for the facts of the matter he had been pondering for so long. While a strong tree or student could stand and overshadow the beings around it, other beings found ways to twist to bend their shape to survive.

Brian picked up the pace realizing he’d stopped for too long, he had a plan. He’d teach her to adapt, to stay true to her set of powers and learning to use them in new suggested ways to defend her to live. He was almost running with eagerness to see what he could do. To teach was a new experience for him to have someone take his suggestions; he burst from the woods and was quickly reaching the goal of finding his student.

There was what he expected, then there was what he found. His student Amaya had decided to dance, seeing the little girl leap, bound, and twirls about. She was humming some unknown song while she was moving. He had no idea what she was doing; still it seemed like something that she wanted to do. He remained silent at first circling her area of dance so that he could reach the far side. He wanted to be closer to the shadow of Dragoon Mountain before interrupting her.

“Amaya, Amaya we’re going to move from here. We’re going to my stone yard, it’s where I work.”

He pointed ahead to an area ahead cloaked in shadows cast by the large mountain. The area of brown can be plainly seen where Brian had painstakingly disturbed and taken from the earth. Standing stone statues littered the area; each one had taken painstaking effort to make. Brian started in the direction of the field; this would be the area he trained in after all. It was the very same area he wanted to work his artworks, he would risk the damage, and he could make more the ones he valued they were safe put in places of honor on his stone yard.

“Amaya, Amaya we’re going to move from here. We’re going to my stone yard, it’s where I work.”

Amaya had lost all sense of time, and at the sound of her teacher she tripped over her own two feet. Her eyes turned a dark brown as she face turned red. She hadnt heard him approuce. She nodded her head solemly, her smile had gone. She was back to her normal self. She hadnt even thought that she would stil be dancing when he came. She had dance to find an excape from the school and the worries it introduced to her.
But she was thankful he had come so she could learn to live and survive in the school. She looked over to where he pointed and walked up closer to him. She looked down in shame. "How much did you see?" she said in a voice most like a whisper. Her eyes turned a darker grey at the thought of being seen dancing, but seince she was looking down her purple hair covered her eyes. Her shoulders slumped. She was certain he didnt hear her.

Seeing her recognition of the brown stony area. Brian took it as Amaya had seen, and understood where they were going. He had started to lead on towards the start of their new training ground. He had to wonder beyond dancing, what her talents were, how he would help her develop them.

All of it was running though his mind as he almost missed her whisper. Casually walking ahead of her once again towards a perceived goal he almost missed an important fact. She was concerned about what he had seen. Worried he’d make some sort of judgement, he guessed about what he would think of her.

“I only saw you dancing for a few moments before I interrupted.”

Her range of emotions just from the small embarrassment was starting to suggest how their day was going to go. She would be hesitant and nervous the whole way though, he could only sigh as he reached what he felt like an appropriate area.

They were across from his quarry. A spectacle tribute to his effort hand hard work with the stone not only this immediate area offered, but stone brought down and molded from on high of Dragoon Mountain.

Still what he did next might shock Amaya but he wanted a training dummy of sorts. Tipping his spear into the ground beneath their feet he pulled forth a human sized rectangle of dirt and stone. His spear slid along the edges and pushed it away from the hole left behind. While the almost six foot block stood he pulled free Tlachtga and stabbed the ground again lowering the surrounding ground to fill the hole.

“We’re going to start with the basics, I want to see your powers, and generally. Anything you do know about fighting already. Okay Amaya?”

Amaya followed him into were she was to train with Ronin-san. She couldnt help but relax for a bit as he was busy doing somthing. She was telling herself that she had promised that she would put an effort into learning and she intended to. No matter how odd she felt. She was making sure she was emotionally readu for this when he asked her to show him her powers and what she knew of fighting.
"Well..." he face flushed alittle. Grey snuck into her eyes and she put on a fake smile trying to stay calm. "my powers arent exactlyfor offense." She put her hands close together with twelve inches in between them and she focused. She felt a pull outwards from inside her as some of the moisture in the air formulated in between her hands. They Quickly formed into clouds about the size of a basketball, and turned as gray as Pewter. Then they started to lightly rain. She quickly dispersed them, feeling relaxed when not trying to hold the moisture together. "That is one power and the other I cant use right now... I dont want to hurt your ears. I can scream loudly and it usually reanders the person who frightened me near deaf." sh gave a nervous small smile.
"Then when it comes to fighting..." she came up and punched the dirt and rock thing that was to be a fighting dummy. As her fist hit it there was a dull thud. Pain went inbetween her eyes, but she pretended it didnt hurt. She didnt want him to think she couldnt handel it. She had to do this if she planned on surviving at this school. She excepted this. Then regaining her composer she tried to kick the dummy as hard as she could. When her foot struck it she lost balance and slipped.
She quickly got up, though she was sure she was going to develop a bruise she said nothing of it. She quickly shook the pain off and looked to the teacher sure that he might not be up to the challange now. She just stood ready to take whatever criticism came her way. Her eyes showed how determined she was, though she was doubtful. She had said she was going to give her all. And being here in this school were she might have been in harms way was better then being home with her gaurdians having uneasy conversations.

There are some things you expect some expectations for Meta humanity that Brian had come to expect from those around him. In fact him so often being the weakest student to his knowledge. Now when Amaya had asked him on how to fight he was expecting powers that could be weponized, or maybe some weak powers he could see used as defense.

Brian wasn’t a real teacher. His expectations were actually a lot higher than what was coming to him. First, a power to develop rains then some sort of monstrous voice to stun. Both, in the long run, in any battle with a Meta would put her down in moments. Unlike most teachers, he could see the form and structure of her powers. He was witness to how weak and difficult the power were in her hands those clouds that water.

While Brian had taken the time to think, and to muse about what to do about Amaya, Amaya seemed to take his silence as a key to continue the demonstration about her complete lack of knowledge. Her punch hurt herself more than knocking some dirt off the pillar, and the kick that followed sent her to the floor against an immobile and defenseless enemy.

Brian had to sigh, his plans and hopes crumbled, not because of her lack of skill. It was because he had expected and assumed too much. Brian set himself up for failure as a teacher when his initial plans had centered on her having powers that may be workable.

“Stop, Stop. I don’t want you hurting yourself. Just give me a moment.”

Brian went silent after his plea for her to stop hurting herself, clearly he had no idea what to do from here. His own powers and fighting styles were from his own body. Seeing Amaya like that, without any clue or any prospects that he could even see for development. Brian wished it was as simple as giving his abilities to her, but everything of him required being him. Being unique like him, he couldn’t give that to anyone.

“We have to, make you stronger, you’re in no condition to do any sort of fighting or learn any techniques. You need more energy, you need more muscle…”

Right now, he just wanted her to practice her own techniques. As well as train her body to accept what would be coming next. He hoped he was making the right decision, as he saw it now there was nothing she could do without building up her basics.

“So I want you to summon rain as much and as often as you can. When you can’t form the rain clouds I want you to punch and run around my quarry. I’m going to be working on my artworks. So be aware that stone shards my fly at you, this I think will be best to build up your basics this way.”

He walked into the center of his quarry, picking up a stone boulder along the way and setting it in the center of his quarry. The area was fairly large like the size of a small house. Unfinished statures stood spotting the inside of the quarry while finished works dotted the area outside the quarry. The most striking view however was the altar like area hollowed out from a portion of the rising mountain. They’re placed delicately stood impressive works. Each one a student from the campus, Brian’s friends people he valued, and all were people who had been taken from him at one point or another. They were his best works.

She could see in his eyes that he didnt know how to begin. She was just as she thought. Hopeless. But she said she was going to try. So she decided to start as he recomended. She got ready to make another rain cloud. As the clouds started to form she felt some strain on her. She had never made any more clouds then neccessary to water her plants. Still though she continued. She tried to be concience of shards that may come her way. The clouds reached their size compacity and she lost control. The clouds left much more quicker then she could make them. She hadnt reached the limit on how much she could make rain so she focused on holding the clouds at just before their compacity for a few minutes.
She forgot all about being carful about the shards and focused on the clouds. Amaya was getting dyhadrated, now most of the moisture in the clouds came from her. But she wasnt paying it any attention.
After a few minutes she was starting to feel dizy. SHe had to let the clouds go before she fainted. The feeling of letting it all go quickly was pulsing through her. She thought about this alittle and thought that it might get too out of hand and acctually make her sick. So a little at a time the moisture was let go out of the clouds.
When the clouds were finally gone she was feeling a bit quesy. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. She had a long way to go. The look in
Ronin-san's eyes told her so. After a minute passed she started running around the quarry till the taste of blood was in her mouth. But she knew it would pass. She kept running almost at her limit. She was not going very fast, but she couldnt tell anymore. THe only thoughts going through her head was keeping her feet moving.

Brian had gone straight to work; he didn’t take the time to consider that she might not pace herself. Brian started an artistic feat, between himself and Tlachtga’s reach there was no transition. The spear left his hand; it was a different artistic style than most of his previous works. Here Brian put more force into the spear, no air brush features like those techniques he could pull from the chain and whip feature of Tlachtga.

Brian forced the spear, to stab, hack and slash. All were powerful blows; Stones crashed and cascaded away from his current project with minimal velocity. Brian did consider Amaya in this style; he sliced larger fragments in mid air with the twists and turns of his own body moving with the spear.

Brian reached a stopping point, and he wiped the sweat off his brow. Typically he’d go hours without breaks or any signs of needing one. Another advantage of being an odd marvel at the school, he had the staying power far beyond most normal people had. So he stopped his work to see Amaya running, his expression shifted quickly he was horrified to see her looking in so much pain.

“Amaya, stop already, I meant we were taking things slow. Please you look sick, rest now. You’re not going to get anything out of forcing yourself too far, too fast.”

Brian was quickly realizing that how far over his head he had gotten himself. She was an extremist, either feigning shyness and weakness or doing everything too hard too fast. He wanted her to balance herself not hurt herself. What an idiot he had been. Casting his gaze about the area he saw the large puddle of water she had managed to make while his back was turned.

“You’ve done great Amaya, Still I don’t want your hurting yourself unnecessarily. You’re not that strong you need to build yourself up. Then you can test your limits”

He strained on the word then. Brian meant every work of it; he dug into his nearby pack. Normally the contents were meant for smoothing his blade and making cuts cleaner. He tossed Amaya a large water bottle.

When he told her to stop and to take things slowly she felt a rush of embarrasment from under the quesyness. She only then realized how stupid she had been. She just wanted to make a good effort, not realizing she was pushing too hard. She got the water bottle and happily drank it. But after a huge gulp her quesiness grew. She took little sips. She listened to everything he said and she felt bad that she might have just made things harder for the person who was taking time our of his day to train her. But as she drank she started to feel better and was slightly pleased with herself none the less at having the will to push herself.
After downiing the water bottle she gave a smile genuine grin. The extreme exercise made her almost completly forget herself. The grin was cute and showed alittle bit of her teeth. But the smile quickly failed as she realized she was smiling.
Amaya looked over to what Ronin-san had been doing and couldnt stop herself from asking, "What are you doing?" she didnt mean to pry but she had already said it so there was no use in taking it back.

Brian was glad she was taking to the water so well, after this he’d have her get more from the waterfalls. Made sense to him to get her to retrieved more water when she drank it. Though for their next session he’d bring out more bottles, that way he could have her go longer without having to run all the way to the waterfalls.

Brian looked on, a twinge in his eyelid felt odd but suddenly he could see down the path. The waterfall in the distance looked safe enough no bodies no enemies or monsters. She would be fine, and suddenly his vision pulled back the waterfall that seemed so close. Now was distant, Brian almost fell over his feet stepping forward trying to understand what just happened?

Brian shook his head down to his tail, returning his focus to the present and the surroundings that were actually closer to him. Amaya had apparently finished the water bottle ahead of schedule. Her genuine smile warmed him a bit; it filled a bit of a void he’d never experienced before. Brian smiled back, his tail rising like waving to a little girl. A sense of protection and care was placed on her head; he really didn’t want the smile to fade though it quickly did.

Brian’s tail drooped while he listened to her question about what he was doing out here. Personally to him, it seemed obvious he was making art. Stone creations to decorate people’s homes and resting-places. Not only that but to honor his friends, seeing as she asked it must not have been obvious. He walked to the beginning artwork he had started while she had managed to summon as much rain as she could into the snow.

Brian placed his hand on the smooth round formation on his statue; each fractal from the cuts of his seemed to make impossible roundness in the remaining stone. Details seemed to slowly be lifting from the stone.

“I’m an artist, with all the fighting and destruction people often forget the beautiful and fragile things lost in the carnage. I started making Statues of my friends, the people important to me that I had lost.”

Brian turned his gaze to the hallowed alcove in the hill, the distance wasn’t great but it seemed an honorable distance from the sweat and blood and snow of the quarry. Where Brian would toil and work for each masterpiece he created now, the alcove was clean of snow. Tender care seemed to go into this area and a sense of reverend peace, quiet and remembrance stood in that hallowed hill.

Figures stood two at the front of the alcove like silent guards. Both made of the grayest stones caved from the face of the strong Dragoon Mountain. Each tasked guardian, one a beast of a man on one side, and the other a one winged angel on the other. Brian’s once closest friend Greg, a pure and noble hearted man, though his appearance was that of an ogre. Across from him was Caleb, a one winged angel of sorts. While not true to form of this friend of Brian had come to accept the blind man like this? Seeing only so much without eyes half holy and half a man of earth. That is how he chooses to live often, and made mistakes like any human.

Behind the two guardians of the entrance three other figures two both beautiful women. However before them both in the darkest of stone stood Eona, she’d fallen in dark times, she lived in the shadows and yet was apart of the light. Her skills eluded Brian but he’d attended her funeral in a dark time in his life. While her headstone had been beautiful to represent her, The statue here represented his grief in the circumstances of her passing.

The one carved of a pure ivory the other seeming to posses qualities of sparkling quarts and sandstone. Sarah in ivory, she had once been his everything, the purest thoughts of his freedom, his goals and dreams. Her shadows and tortured cuts, like in life she had a history that could not be overcome without marring her beauty, it defined her. The other seemed to be a casual women, Alexandra, she was in simple clothing though it all sparkled, he’d valued her counsel once before, trusted her in battle though they never spoke since then, she had moved him.

Finally he came back to his current work, a deeply brown stone, the robotic girl Nanami; she’d shown him kindness when all was lost to him. Amaya’s appearance had reminded him of her; she belonged in the alcove, a simple stone to show the deeply simple thoughts that made this person so great. He realized he’d wandered down memory lane for far too long.

“I’m sorry Amaya, just my memories, I don’t want you to have a history at this school like mine. I work my art for personal reasons as much as I make them to replace and sooth the souls of the people who buy my art.”

"Why do you always think up things to get you in the worse situations?" Yang said to herself as she pushed a stray branch of leaves out of her way. Anyone with a natrual instinct for direction would be smart enough to turn around and head out of the forest where the base of Dragoon mountain sat. But Yang had twisted and turned in so many directions that she was lead away from the faint path created by the feet walking to the mountain and was now lost with no sense of which direction would take her where.

Quickly deciding that she definately wouldn't want to be caught out here in the dark by one of the creatures she had lived here, Yang immediatly decided that she would head to her right and see where that would take her. Before long, after she'd recieved many light scratches from stray branches, Yang heard the soft patting of shoes on dirt. It was a crunching rythmn, as if somebody was runnning not too far away. With a cry of joy, Yang's instant reaction was to run to the source, without thinking of the conciquences at all. The thought of whether it was a creature or hot-tempered privacy loving student that was running constently in one area, never crossed Yang's mind. All that was important now, was finding a way out of this forest.

With the appearance of trees growing less, the member Genbu soon came across a clearing. The first thing which hit her eyes was the quarry not too deep in the ground. Walking closer to it's edge, Yang would've guessed it around 30 centermeters deep. Turning her head to the side slightly, she soon saw in the distance, the ginormous base of Dragoon mountain rising above the tree tops.

Then all of a sudden, the sound of shoes on dirt reminded her mind of why she'd forced herself to run here. There was a girl running around the quarry, she seemed so excusted. It was as if she took another step her legs would've given way and would've collapsed with her head hitting the uneven ground. Yet she still ran. But the only person that Yang had ever met with long violet hair was someone she'd conversed with at the lunch table, and her memory woke with a jolt when Yang saw her face. This girl that was suffering was definately Amaya!

Yang's first instictive action was to rush straight to Amaya and ask why in god's name had she been running around until she'd die of excustion, but her feet stopped dead in their tracks when she'd saw a strange figure chiseling away at a block of something not so far away from Amaya. Thinking that he was the culprit behind torturing Amaya, Yang thought that she'd have to do something. For sure, this evil-minded bad guy was definately stronger than Yang. Most likely 1000-times stronger, so the first idea Yang had was to find a professor to be able to stop this. But not long before running into the forest did Yang remember she'd have no idea where she was going and reliesed she'd never find a prof. let alone get out of the forest alive.

Yang turned around and stopped for a moment. "I have to help Amaya." She said to herself, before running back to help her. Yang prayed to god that Amaya would still be okay long enough as images of an unconcious girl lying on the ground kept coming into Yang mind. But when she'd reached the quarry Amaya seemed to be conversing with the 'evil master-mind' and drinking water. To Yang's relief, Amaya was going to be fine but before her feet could catch up with her mind Yang had missed the step into the quarry. "Ah!" She exclaimed, tripping and falling on her hands and knees, Yang could feel the blood rushing to her face now.

Slowly getting up she felt like she needed to explain her actions. "This.. er... might be.. strange.." She stared keeping an eye on them both, "but I was passing by and er.. Hiya!" She said giving up on that idea and brushed the dust off her clothes.

AMaya felt that there was something that Ronin-sensei wasnt telling her. What kind of past did he have. There was a softunderstanding in her eyes as she cocked her head slightly at her teacher. Her purple hair fell lightly around her head.
Then there was a thud just on the outskirts of the quarry. Amaya startled with a little jump. Amaya tried to quickly get up, stumbled a little as her legs felt like twigs in a storm. Amaya looked at the person as they blushed. Then as the person started talking Amaya realized that it was her friend from lunch, Yang-yang.
"Yang-yang? Is that you?" Amaya stood up alittle more slowly. She walked slowly towards Yang-yang. A buzzing noise and pressure filled her head at the change of altitude. It passed soon enough though. She had almost gotten her body to settle after her little training session.
Seeing that it was Yang-yang she turned to Ronin-san. "Ronin-Sensei. THis is a girl a met today during lunch. Yang-san." She helped her up and asked her what she was doing.

Brian felt like he had spent too much time in the good memories of the past. While hurtful those statues reminded of the good times. The time and places that those people had been a positive influence on his life. Looking to Amaya his responsibility, his student now she still looked winded the next thing he had her do he figured would have to be much easier on her.

It was the fall and crash into the snow that awoken him from his daze of thinking that another person had actually stumbled onto his area. Seeing the girl fall over herself in the shift of ground hidden by the snow for the quarry’s work area. Tlachtga was shifted from artistic tool to weapon just in the simple shift of his posture.

Amaya had other plans, she was already walking out to the fallen girl, Brian hadn’t determined if this girl was friend or enemy to them. Why was Amaya being so brazen this invasion on his personal space like this? He watched as Amaya lifted the surprisingly young and normal looking girl from her knees as a brief explanation seemed to run from her mouth.

Amaya finally cleared things up; the look of recognition crossed Brian’s face. A friend of Amaya’s, he hadn’t expected that she would have a tag along. However that may have been for the best, maybe Amaya would have someone else to train with and keep her pace while Brian could work. Not so much hands on overseeing.

“Well, Yang, you say you just wandered into this are, not entirely likely. Did you come to train with Amaya?”

"Thanks Amaya." Yang whispered into the ear of the girl that came to her aid. At this instant, she felt that her thoughts were all over the place. Where to start? She was so angry right now(something which didn't happen to often, without reason). How could Amaya just let her precious body be subject to this.. this.. torture?

Though at that same instant, Yang was so scared that her heart was beating painfully at her chest, and her breaths sharp on her throat. Scared of what excactly, was something only god knew. It could have possibly been how tall, and intimedating Mr.Ronin was, but Yang was more sure that it was that, with the addition of a spear-like weapon by his side. This was surely the reason why she wasn't already shouting her mouth off.

How could she possibly answer Amaya's question whilst her mind was so unsorted. Yang was quite aware that time was running out to reply, so before her mind could arrange itself, Yang said the first things that seemed to strike at her. "Er... You can say I wandered here." She started, tightening her hair ties at each side of her head whilst taking time to go over Mr.Ronin's sentence once again. It was good that she did this, because she'd just picked up a considerably important fact.

"Your training?!" Yang exclaimed, seconds before realising this would've sounded so rude. "I mean, were you training Amaya? .. I-I... Hadn't noticed." She corrected herself, before that exclaimation could do any damage. "You see.. Er.." Yang started as she searched her mind for a way to explain herself. "I admit it." She continued still unsure of what words she should've use, but before she knew it the words leaked out, "... I was lost. I had no clue this place even existed!" She'd done it now. Mr.Ronin, who was infact, Amaya's teacher must've surely seen this as trepassing.

Actually, she had absolutely no idea how Mr.Ronin was feeling about this. She only assumed that he was bothered by this all. Though one thing was for sure, Yang hadn't come out here to train with Amaya, even though the idea did seem inviting. Definately not wanting to intrude, Yang decided she would just wait and see what the both of them had to say first...

AMaya was pleased at the thought of having someone to train with she acctually gave a pretty genuine smile. SHe was happy with the thought that she would have someone to train with. Amaya turned to her friend quickly with her hair flying around her as she looked from Yang-san to Ronin-Sensei. "Do you want to train with us?" AMaya turned from her friend to Ronin-Sensei, "Could she really?"
Amaya was just so happy with the thought it took her alittle while to compose herself. Amaya blushed as she calmed herself down thinking that this is no way to behave. Behavior like this her Gaurdians wouldnt have permitted. She could do nothing but look to her Teacher and friend and wait for the scolding. She looked down looking ashamed of her behavior. She had been smiling too much it seemed to her.

So their Brian was starring down two young and small girls both seemingly afraid of him and yet respecting him for whatever reason. The girl yang insisted she had gotten lost, that she never knew his quarry excised. He turned away recalling that he had pointed out this area to another student from high on the mountain. It wasn’t that unlikely someone could just happen on his area.

Now gazing back down on Yang and Amaya. They both looked fearful of his opinions and hopeful. He really had to wonder if his training was going to do them any good besides teaching them that the strong should lord over the weak. He really had to start going over what he was going to teach them in the future. Running around the quarry wasn’t going to do them much good for long.

Amaya was the one to cut in before Brian could arrange and sort all his thoughts about the situation. It was starting to feel a little odd with such young girls. Especially since they both were apparently going to be spending a lot of time around them. There was still his own training to think of after all he couldn’t let them down if something happened to the school or just themselves in general.

Responsibility finally struck in Brian’s mind, he was after all taking responsibility to keep Amaya safe but now Yang as well. There wasn’t a decision to make in regards to weather or not to train her; she didn’t look that self-assured or ready to deal with the school’s horrors.

“It’s no problem if she wants to train. I want to stress though. It’s not all about strength. I don’t want either of you using the powers that develop to turn on other students. Unless it is in self defense.”

Brian walked around his current unfinished creation and put an arm around where the face was starting to develop. His hand on the faceless chin. He looked out intensely to the two girls.

“I don’t want to have to make a statue of either of you, or someone else, because of what I’m teaching. Understand?”

Yang was filled with a feeling of joy as she saw that Amaya was thrilled to have her join them in their training. Well, she seemed to be thrilled when Yang first looked in her direction, but after looking back from Mr.Ronin's reaction, Amaya seemed to calm herself all alittle too quickly. Puzzled at this behavoir, and why Amaya was looking at her in such a sympathetic way, Yang didn't know what esle to do but pat her on the back and whisper, "Its okay." Not knowing excactly what this would acheive, she wished that it might bring back the stunning smile she had on her face before.

Taking other things into consideration, Mr.Ronin didn't seem all too reluctant to teach Yang, so the feeling that she was intruding could now completely be ignored. Not knowing excactly what they were training for, or why, Yang did wonder if she could really put herself up to the challenge. Afterall, she was definately a small fry with the talent in this vast highschool.

Yang wouldn't dream of using her ability against another(without an extremely good reason), but did she seem like that sort of person? Looking at Amaya, who too seemed like she wouldn't hurt a fly, Yang wondered why Mr.Ronin felt that he needed to make that point clear. Could it have been that he was thinking, 'its better safe than sorry.'

Watching her new teacher place his arm around his current peice of work, Yang felt that he had some sort of bond with it. Then again, many artists had that with their work, but for some strange reason, this seemed very much.. different. Though Yang definately didn't want to seem strange, or forward by pointing out something that was most likely untrue.

Even though she didn't truely understand what Mr.Ronin had meant about not wanting to create another statue of another someone, she still replied his demand with a, "I understand." as firm as she could possibly make it sound. Though she must admit, she had her doubts on whether it was wise to train with them but shook her head as she always did to rid herself of negative thoughts. "So, I guess I should start calling you Teacher.Ronin." She fianlly said with a smile planted upon her willing face.

Amaya had calmed herself. She was starting to think that she was getting too attached to these people. SHe was starting to worry. It had been about a year now since she had shown that much emotion. She was slightly surprised that she could still show it. She looked to her teacher understanding now what he had been talking about before Yang came. They were memories of people he knew. Amaya's emotional eyes turned a darker greyish brown.
"Yes Ronin-Sensei, I promise." She said solidly with a little respective bow. She was thrilled that Yang would now train with her, but she was worried that she would get too attached. She decided to be more careful. She didnt want such sad memories as Ronin-San, she wanted no more sad memories to the ones of her foster parents, the knowledge of her parents, or of moving from school to school leaving friends behind.
Even as she made this decision, she knew it wsa going to be hard. She was starting to really like this classmates of hers. Even if being here was a danger.

Well the status of things were determined, Both Amaya and Yang would be students of his. Brian had past the key point of his training; it would be stressed repeatedly. Looking from girl to girl the frailness of Amaya was apparent, even her powers that had been displayed were not anything that could be used for defense or offense.

Yang on the other hand seemed in better shape, but he didn’t know the extent of her powers. So the next step seemed obvious he had to get to know both girls. Power’s dispositions and fight experience if there was any at all. They needed to be chiseled like his statues into peak health so he could be sure they wouldn’t be killed by a serious wound when others would.

“Yang, I want you to use your fighting ability on the dirt and stone pillar I drew up from the ground. Don’t hurt yourself I just want to see what kind of abilities you have.”

Meanwhile he turned to Amaya, she’d already done her chore today, but as he thought about it there were a few things he needed done around the quarry. Especially now that his supply of water had been downed. She had the ability to make water so it was the best idea after all to get her to make more.

“Amaya I know you’re a bit tired from the run and using your powers however I need you to refill the water bottle you emptied, and I think next time we meet I want you to Bring two jugs to hold water. You need more endurance Amaya, both physical and magical, least that is what I’m seeing.”

Brian nodded to himself and waited for yang to attack the pillar like Amaya had, he couldn’t teach them any of his powers. Whatever was going to come from his training was going to have to spring from their bodies… except one ability.

Brian remembered the light orb, the technique he used the most for training himself, because he dispelled the magic used to create it. If the school could teach it then there shouldn’t be any problem having the girls learn it from him. Maybe they could develop the ability in a way he couldn’t…

Amaya understood, she watched Ronin-Sensei turn to Yang. Amaya went over to the water bottle. She was glad that she liked these people, but if she got attached she might not be able to handle another close ones funeral. Amaya sat there next to the jug of water. She was trying very carefully not to take the water from her this time. That was one of the reasons she was so thirsty.
Her eyes turned a borwnish grey. There was more worry in her eyes then normal. Her hair fell casually in front of her face. She couldnt stop liking these people, but she has too.
Amaya closed her eyes and felt the saddness of all those years. They created a pressure that builded up in the pit of her, like a magnetic pull the moisture from in the air came towards her. The pull shifted from her pit to her hands. Focusing the pressure to shift around the moisture compressing it together and creating a rain cloud. She made a small one so the aim could be more precise. Amaya was about to make it rain when she got an idea.
Lowering her hand she tried to get the rain cloud into the bottle. She got most of it in, lost some but got it in. She focused again on trying to gather more moisture. The cloud started to get larger. It almost looked like two instead of one. It was slightly larger then normal. But it was probably a once in a lifetime thing. Amaya forgot her worries and her eyes turned a deep earthy brown. She tried to surpress a smile as it started to rain in the bottle.

Yang could feel her face flush as soon as her teacher had instructed her to display her abilities onto a block of dirt and rock. Regardless of her concerns about the outcome that would arise from this, Yang slowly walked towards the the pillar. Staring at it for over a second, she wondered how she was going to go about this.. Though, in a weak attempt to stall time, she turned back to look at Amaya and she was up to.

This was the first time that she'd ever witnessed Amaya display her power, and honestly, she was very impressed by it. Well, seeing as she'd never met anyone with the ability to create condensation from clouds above their hands, you could say Yang had a right to be excited.

"Hahaai!" Yang said gleefully, a white smile on her face. It was a rain cloud in a bottle! This would never compare to the little novelty panda inside a tiny corked bottle keychain which she saw in the main gift shop back at home. "You are.. the best! Yiiiey!!" She exclaimed with a palm by her mouth and her fist in the air as if to cheer Amaya on. Yang was quite proud of Amaya, seeing as she'd almost killed herself by running, and was still able to use her powers like this afterwards.

But even though she was quite comfortable with cheering for as long as needed, Yang sighed and stopped her efforts. Sooner or later, she was going to have to display what she was capable of onto the motionless block. Staring at it once again, Yang soon thought it was wise not to use her 'gift' at all.

Instead, Yang tried to remember the self defense she was taught every Saturday at both primary, and secondary school prior to AHS. Yang faced the block, firstly with both hands by her side. Now that she was actually putting her little knowledge of basic Wushu to good use, Yang had not regretted the early morning sessions in rain, snow, or shine. With one quick action, Yang had moved her left foot about a metre behind her other and allowed her waist to sink to the level of her right thigh, which was now bent down at 90 degrees from her stomach. Following with a breath, she was actually quite surprised she managed what she remembered as the bow stance which she was taught a while back.

But now was the hardest part of all. Dusting the cover of the book, to read clearly into her memory bank. Yang needed to recall how to punch... Looking at the stone block again, Yang took a breath out of her lungs. She was just going to let her mind speak to her.

Clenching her fist, both her feet were planted firmly on the ground. Yang felt the punch travel from her left heel, through her waist and then to her shoulders. Turning her torso, to lean into the punch, Yang drove her hand towards the block. She could feel the rock collide with her last three knuckles, as intended, but since she was so excited that she could pull it off she had quickly moved her fist away to see what she could actually do to the block. Though nothing more than a small crack could be seen on it's surface.

Disapointed, she let her hands hang below her waist as she hadn't notice she was still in the bow stance. Immitating her hands, was her head which she hung in shame, which caused her chin to come so close to her neck. "Iiieeehh.. " Yang said lifting her head again to double check if she'd done more than just that one crack, but sadly, the pillar proved stronger than her.

All eyes were on Amaya’s now second attempt at using her powers in a capacity she’d never done before. Brian was happy when he saw the change in her power usage. The snow around her seemed to melt and disappear, as the rain cloud grew much larger than the last attempt. Brian was impressed she was quickly thinking and adapting her skills, at least that was what it looked like.

While Yang outright cheered for Amaya’s progress Brian was noting something else. Though she was doing her job, she looked sad about it. Though he wasn’t sure what was bugging her. Right now he’d wait and see how it turned out next meeting they would have to discuss this.

Turning back to Yang he could see her squirm under his gaze, then she finally fell into a sort of fighting style. It wasn’t one he was familiar with, the regality of it suggested she hadn’t used it a lot, in actual fighting. She punched one of the exposed rocks, follow though and attack was pretty decent. As far as fighting went she was further ahead than Amaya was. Still her power though, she didn’t seem to use it from what Brian could tell.

“That was great Yang, but could you explain your power to me. I couldn’t see what it was.”

Brian sighed, Amaya was certainly done for the day and after he understood some of what Yang was capable of. He would call it a day, that way he could put some time before the next meeting when he might have some ideas for each of them.

Brian thumbed the curve of Tlachtga’s shaft, wondering what good were powers that he couldn’t give to anyone but himself. Lending his powers to someone else now seemed like a great idea but impossible to accomplish. What would Amaya and Yang develop towards with his limited knowledge of how to train anyone but himself?

Amaya had filled the bottle to the best of her ability. Her power seemed to have gotten a little bit better. She looked up towards her two friends moving her hair behind her ear letting some of it brush her back. She saw Yang punch the block. Amaya felt bad that she was the weakest here, but at least Yang wouldnt be as helpless as she was.
Amaya got up brushing the dirt from her pants. She belt over and picked up the bottle. The cloud had dissolved, but the moisture had become water that sat in the water bottle. Since it hadnt sat in the sky with the pollution the water was basically pure, almost. Amaya pushed down deep her saddness that she had used. Her hair had gotten messy during the running. She ignored it.
Amaya waited till they were done. She was about to walk up and hand Ronin-San the bottle, but she was going to wait till they were done. She was a bit curious what Yang-sans' powers were too, so she waited just a few feet from where she had been.

It was definatly Yang's fault that she'd been so disapointed with herself. She had expected so much out of herself a few moments ago that she wasn't able to accept what she was only capable of in reality. Now that she understood that, she knew now that she if she was going to move forward, it would be at her own pace. The feeling of finally understanding was beautiful.

She grinned to herself and clasped her hands infront of her chest as she stared at the crack which was so small, it could barely be seen. Suddenly, panic seemed to sneak back as soon as Teacher.Ronin had asked her to run through her power because he didn't seem to catch it.

Turning around and finally releasing herself from the stance she was previously in, she opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. She saw that Amaya had finished her task and was now standing not far from where she was demonstrating her power. The bottle no longer empty, she was standing there grasping it in her hand and Yang had wondered what Amaya could possibly be waiting for as she put a finger to her chin.

"Yeeeeaye!" She exclaimed clapping her hands and beaming at her as if to congradulate Amaya but the look faded as she turned to her teacher. She found it hard to smile when she thought about having to explain her power. Forcing one out only gave her the look that she was suffering from a tooth ache, so she quickly returned to the straightest face she could keep.

"Um.. You didn't miss it, because I haven't used it." She started now switching eye contact between the two. "I can move the energy in my body to my hands, and it makes this really cool fire looking thingy!" She continued gleefully, obviously not to informed of her gift, but then wondered if she should've really told them the cons about this gift. "But it doesn't last for long. 2 minutes at the most, and the reason I didn't use it today.." She said, taking a breath, "-is because I'd be out like a light as soon as theres no more energy."

Brian nodded along with Yang’s hesitation and explanation for her not using her power. He wasn’t disappointed more surpass that both girls on the campus were so unprepared for all the insanity that the campus could provide. Two minutes or a rain cloud wasn’t going to do anything if something serious came across them.

In fact with their current limitations there was nothing Brian could do to teach either of them. They needed to use their powers more, much more, and learn how to use them without draining the life out of them. The most obvious course of action for Brian to take was to tell them to train on their own till they met again. Use their powers whenever they could. Get their endurance’s up then the real training would begin.

Brian turned so that he could see both Amaya and Yang. He cleared his throat and nodded with determination for the end of today’s evaluation.

“You girls did great today, I’m trying to understand your abilities and capabilities. Right now though you both need more solo training time than I can provide. So what I want you both to do is use your powers every chance you get. Train feverishly and develop beyond your limits. Until you do, I can’t help you learn anything but the most basics, and you both have a grasp on those.”

He walked over to the pillar the snow that had been on top of it had fallen along the sides from Amaya’s and Yang’s attacks. He simply brushed the dirt away from the stone yang cracked and pulled the small stone out of the column. He tossed it to Yang, then he smiled to Amaya.

“In one week from now I want both of you to be able to your powers twice as long at least. From that I can start helping you learn more about your powers and how they can be turned into offensive or defensive abilities. But I must have you two able to use your powers long enough for a decent lesion understand?”

Brian smiled to them now enough of the rough mentors stuff, he figured. He could congratulate them on what they could do so far. So he smiled to Amaya, stooping down to be more at level with the shorter girls.

“Amaya, I’m sure you’ve draw more water from around you than you have in a long time. Good job filling up the water bottle with your power, maybe you’ll be summoning storms like other students I’ve seen. Keep it as a reminder of where you started”

Brian then turned to Yang.

“Yang you have a understanding of fighting, eventually you’ll smash pillars like this one like they were twigs, Keep that small stone for the same reason as amaya’s water bottle originally you both were weak. You’ll get strong, just listen to me if things get serious, that goes for both of you.”

“We’ll meet in one week in front of the waterfalls.”
