Adrianna looked down at the bleak landscape. Winter was so colorless that it made her feel empty. Snow crunched under her boots as she shifted her weight a bit. The cold breeze caught the hem of her long, black dress. The white sock cap covered her blonde hair and symbol. "How come winter is so bleak? I never feel much in winter and I want to know why," she said, turning her gaze to the sky. She remembered all the winters before her surgery and felt a pang of anger. How long had it been since she became almost empty during winter? Seven long years since her operation....since her mother had died. A car crash and scream from her memories forced her eyes opened, not realizing that she had closed them. That day her whole life had changed. Correction: had done a complete 180. She had escaped to this school and began to mend her life again. She had met few people, but that was fine. They were helping more then her father ever did. Adrianna sighed and looked down at the teenagers walking about down on the ground. They seemed so normal, but they were like her. She were unique and special yet no different then the next person. |

Jack was more than irritaed by what operations were reuired to maintain his arm. If anything this ould eventually help him find way to make his adjustments permanent. He stood on his left arm, carefully tightening the screws. His wool vest was hanging from his left foot while his toolbelt was hanging from the right foot. Carefully upon removing a panel from his left rm he began twisting smaller screws inside. His arm became less wobbly with each twist. Upon Tightening it he placed the screwdriver in his mouth and grabbed the screws next to the ledge of the roof. As he did so he spotted a girl standing next to the ledge a couple dozen feet away. He placed all three screws in his mouth and then grabbed one with his screwdriver. Carefully he placed the screw in it's socket then twisted it tight. He looked back over to the girl. She was greiving over something, maybe bad memories. "Bad past?" Jack asked out loud as he placed another screw in it's socket. He looked back towards her. "If you have had bad past then try to supress it, try writing something, try taking somethingyu had before and use it to fuel memories before the bad ones. Then drown it out." He grabbed the last screw and placed it in the socket. "Or just eat an eggroll..." Jak finally screwed the last one in. Carefully he placed the vest and the toolbelt on the ground next to him. He the spit the tag to his dogcollar out and launched himself towards the center of the roof with his left arm. |

She was jolted out of her thoughts by Jack's voice. She turned around and looked at him. Every word made sense, but somehow it didn't help her. She had tried that already. Nodding, she focused her bright green eyes on Jack and watched him launch himself upward. "Yeah. Doing those type of things usually helps me but today, it doesn't seem to be happening. Nothing I do seems to faze these memories that keep coming. I need something stronger than just doing those things," she said a bit gloomily. She watched him land and a small smile arose. Would she ever find a way to stop these images. One image in particular came to mind, infurating her. She squeezed her hands close, nails bringing blood to the surface. The blood dripped to the ground silently. |

Jack noticed the blood that had begun to drip from her hands. "Ah now, don't harm yourself, it only makes you feel worse..." He said as he walked towards her. His arm made a slight clicking noise as he moved it about making gestures during his talking. "I've had a bad past that litarally haunts me to no end, you, you have a past that doesn't want to reach back and constantly want to drag you back into it..." He stopped next to her and rubbed his left arm for a few seconds. |

Adrianna looked at her bloodied hands and sighed sadly. She couldn't tear her gaze from the wound she had inflicked on herself. She had never done that before. "My past isn't the only thing that's probably haunting or should I say hunting me at the moment. The last 7 years have been filled with pain, hate and sadness. I have tried to leave my past behind, but it keeps coming back. The only reminder I have of what I am and what has happened is the mark on my forhead," she said. The blood brought back a memory. The memory of the crash. So much blood. Everything was covered in her and her mother's blood. Too much blood. Her knees gave out and she fell to her knees, trembling from the memory. "So much blood," she whispered. |

Jack's ilitary instinks kicked in and he quickly helped her to her feet. Every man needs to be a GENTLEman... he thought to himself as he looked at her hands. "So much blood yes, but think about what's more important, look around you and think of what makes you special. |

Adrianna looked at him and nodded. "Thank you," she said. She looked at her hands and wiped them on her dress, knowing it wouldn't show and could be cleaned out easily. Her usually cheerful self begun to come back. A smile graced her face as she looked at him. "What's your name?" she asked. She glanced at her hands amd thought about whether or not she should offer her hand to be shook. It was bleeding very little now, but it did hurt. She could bare it just like all of the other pain. "What makes me special?" she softly repeated. That was something to think on. She didn't know, but wanted to find out. |

helping her stand upright with his left arm he focused on his right hand that had begun to dig through his tool belt. After a few seconds he found a small roll of bandages that he had kept safe in case he had injured himself. "Well, you like many people at this school aren't seperate from the rest of the world. You have only been gven a gift. Along with that gift comes curses that can easily be demolished with it. I for one earned mine the hard way, you..." He paused as he wrapped the bandages around her injured hands. "You, I'm not sure what you are capable of but it must be something great. Otherwise I wuldn't be here talking to you. Let alone your will to continue has proven enough to give you a chance at life, look and wait to see what awaits you in the future, not death." He continued as he finished wrapping. "I've sen death up close, before it touches you, you see what good things you've done, what you have done to make people feel better, your mind tells you that even if you perish, you will still be alive. You will still be there in the hearts of many." |

"Death awaits in all of our futures, Jack." Jacob had been watching the scene from his perch in the stairwell for the last several minutes. When he had first arrived to find Jack at the roof once again, he had nearly turned around and simply gone to find another place to relax. Luckily, the scene had quickly become rather entertaining to say the least. Jacob found all of the talk about potential and life to be fairly foolish to say the least. It was as if Jack was grabbing for every cliché line he could think of. Jacob slowly stepped out from the stairwell, the door closing behind him with the normal metallic thunk that accompanied such a door. He was still wearing his school uniform, the white dress shirt neatly tucked away in his slacks, his tie hanging loosely around his neck in a partial state of removal. His long red and white hair was free this time, rather than being tied back by his normal black ribbon, and it cascaded down around his face like a waterfall of scarlet silk. "We all decided whether to live on or die. And sometimes other people make those decisions for us." Jacob gave a dismissive gesture with his right hand, a pleasant smile quirking the corners of his pale, red lips. His eyes were like broken shards of amethyst, swirling and complex beyond description or reason, and he shifted them to the girl with the minor injuries. "You're not special. I have seen several students come up here to brood and look back on their pasts. If you want to be something special, than make yourself as such. Be what you are, and be good at it." |

"Back off Jacob, I don't welcome your opinions. you seem to enjoy watching eople hurt for some reason." Jack slowly placed one of his hands on his left Desert eagle. "I was hurt badly in my past and I managed to get through it. Yet you think somebody like her doesn't have a chance in their life." Jack turned to face Jacob. "It displeases me to think that such people can exist out of the military..." |

Jacob laughed softly at Jack, his head tilting to the side in a gesture of curiosity. Those cold expressionless orbs of lavender fell down to his moving hand, the one that just happened to be edging toward his weapon, and a gentle sigh slipped free from his pale, red lips. His head shook back and forth in a spray of red and white hair, a look of pure exasperation spreading over his finely featured face. ”That isn’t what I said at all, but leave it to you to mistake my words for something else and to start reaching for a weapon. Tell me again, how is it that you have managed to avoid shooting most of the student body by now? I can only wonder, seeing as how you seem to yank out a gun at the slightest sign of trouble. Very mature.” |

Had two years of the mitary constantly been being present in his presence he managed to hold his temper. "Yet you you choose to go against what I say and you act like it was something normal. Things can change, people can be happy!" Jack kept his right hand on his right Desert eagle. his left hand needed to be free in case t became any worse than just throwing around words. "And where do you get off saying I shoot every student that makes me angry? We've met only once, and still we both get bad impressions..." Jack chuckled a little. "...I don't waste bullets unless the situatin calls for it." |

Jacob sighed and rolled his eyes at Jack, a look of pure annoynace spreading over his face. "You're not exactly listening to me, are you?" Jacob turned and started off towards the stairwell, leaving with a far worse impression of Jack than he had started out with in the first place. |

"Bah, go ahead and leave..." Jack said as he turned around. One thing that seemed to irritate Jack the most were people who always stayed on one side. It always dictated their decisions blindsighting them to true reasoning and understanding. "...last thing we need is somebody that deserves a bullet...." Jack mumbled as he faced the edge of the roof. |

Adrianna watched them talk as she tried to find her voice. 'What was going on here?' she thought. Before she knew it it was all over. The Jacob person seem to get her a chill, which she didn't like. His outlook on life was so negative while Jack's was bright. Turning to look at Jack she realized that she agreed with him. "Your outlook on life is very bright, and I agree with you so very much. Thank you for telling me all that you did. It helped tremendously," she said to him, smiling. "By the way, my name is Adrianna." Jacob had called him Jack, so she guessed it was his name. She looked at her hands, that were bandaged. "Jack, thank you for bandaging my hands. They still hurt, but they feel a bit better," she said. |

((ooc:yeah yeah...I'm entering a bit late...but hey! I didnt realize that sango put a post here. After all, I have seen her in a long time ^_^)) A he traveled the dark recesses of the stairwell, a person bumped into him and kept going. Chrono never really cared much about those little incidents, so it didnt bother him much. Stepping onto the roof he noticed two others up there. A few spots of blood strained the ground, but it was nothing too significant. The only thing he heard from up here was "Jack, thank you for bandaging my hands. They still hurt, but they feel a bit better," "What happened to your hands Adrianna?" Yes, that was her name. He thought he had recognized the voice from below. But he hadnt seen her in quite a while, so he wasn't exactly sure. "Did that guy going down the stairs hurt you?" He looked back down the steps and thought of how he could have taken the dude out right back there. |

"Well, you shouldn't intentionally harm yourself, it's a bad habit to take up. But myself, I was just bored and decided to come up here. After all, when you cant find anyone to do anything with it gets rather boring. How about yourself? Why are you up here?" He paused then looked to the other guy up there with them. "Thanks for helping Adrianna out...uhhh.... what's your name?" |

"It wasn't on purpose. It just kinda happened. Like I said, long story. I was actually up here to clear my mind anf forget about somethings that happened in the past. Once again, long story," she answered Chrono. Her emerald gaze shifted to Jack when Chrono asked his name. |

Jack was shifting the black glove on his left hand around when the question had been directed towards him. He looked up for a second then stuffed his left hand into his pocket. "eh, my name is Jack Wolfe...." He replied as he put a smile on. |

"Well, It's nice to meet you Jack. And Adrianna, I will try not to bug ya anymore about the little scratches on your hand. Just promise me you won't do that anymore. If you ever feel as though you need someone to talk to you can always come to me or Jack, since he seems like a nice guy." Chrono asked this of her as he stepped up to her, about about a foot away. The swordsman smiled down at her, a grin lighting up his face. "I don't want you to get hurt nearly as often as I do." |

Adrianna looked at him and smiled. It felt nice to know someone would listen to her considering all that she had been through during her life. She heard Jack chuckle, but didn't care. "Thank you. Both of you," she said. Her eyes widened as a idea came to her. This often happened when she was ready to paint with her soul, and not just colors. Her smile filled her face and eyes. She could already feel the paintbrush in her hand and smell the paint she would be using. She blinked to vision away and looked at the guys. They had brought on the idea. Adrianna gave Chrono and hug and a kiss on the cheek before doing the same to Jack. It didn't matter if they thought she was weird for doing it, because she was just expressing her gratefulness. "Thank you guys. You both just gave me the inspiration I needed for my painting. Come by later if you want to see. I will either be in the Genbu dorm house or in the courtyard." She was leaning towards the idea of painting in her dorm room. Then she quickly walked from the roof, heading toward her dorm to paint was she just saw. After she was done she was going to want to show both of them. |
