"All right, on three. One....two...and UP!" Working together, straining for everything they were worth, the taxi driver and his young fare managed to lift the last, heaviest piece of his luggage--a reinforced plastic SkyCrate--up and out of the cab's trunk. "Gods...what the hell do you have in there anyway?" Sweating from the effort despite the bitter cold, the driver gave his fare a long-suffering look. The boy was dark-skinned and a bit on the small side, jeans, lab jacket and hideous red-and-black tie visible under his black overcoat and hat. Spoke Japanese like a native too, the driver noted, though he looked much too dark to be one. The boy thought for a moment, then began counting off on his fingers. "Couple of computers, my tools, parts for my man-portable three-dimensional ultrasonic imaging device..." "....Right." Yes, my friend, this is the school for you, the driver thought. "Forty-seven hundred yen, please." As the cab pulled off--the driver still shaking his head--the boy plopped his remaining suitcases atop the SkyCrate, popped out the handle, and rolled the resulting Leaning Tower O'Luggage through the gate and into the Courtyard. Now....where am I supposed to go again? he wondered, drawing his coat tighteraround him as he rolled his stuff along. It was in the letter the school'd sent him of course, and he'd packed it with the rest of his stuff. Only problem was he couldn't remember which bag it was in..and as cold as it was out here, he didn't want to dig through his stuff outside if he could help it. So he looked around at the unfamilar buildings, hoping to get some clue as to where he should go. Unfortunately, this meant he was paying little attention as to where he was walking... |

It would seem as if he walked into a tree branch somehow, at least that's what it undoubtedly felt like. The object that was outstretched to catch him at roughly chest-height, that is. In reality, it was part of what looked like a large spider's leg, though it was made of solid bone. It was one of three that had emerged from the back of a battle-scarred man off to the left of this new arrival, the three remaining legs holding him a few feet above the snow-covered ground. And, since the lectures from his friends (and even his fiance) didn't really get through to him, he wasn't dressed for the weather, either. He wore a simple black tanktop, black jeans, and black steeltoe boots. His black hair reached just past his shoulders, and draped down as he looked down at the boy to explain why he'd stopped him. "Oi, new kid. It'd probably be wise to pay attention to where you're walking. Wouldn't want you slipping up on the snow. Some of it's been packed down pretty hard by now, rather difficult to avoid falling flat on your ass. Frankly I doubt you'd get hurt, but then you'd have to spend a lot of time picking up all that stuff you're lugging behind you. And I'd have to help or I'd never hear the end of it from Nathaniel . . . or Nayama . . . or Josa . . . well, let's just say I'd be in a far worse position than you if I didn't try to help out, alright? Name's Seth, recent graduate. You would be . . . ?" (( Gah, stupid headcold, makes posting a pain in the ass >_< )) |

"Oh, excuse me," the boy said, turning around to face Seth--and unaware of what he just bumped into. "I'm KaHOLY SHIT!" Forgetting himself, he immediately jumped back, knocking all his bags off the Sky Crate...which he then tripped over, falling on his ass atop the bags. It was about then he remembered that 1) most of this school's enrollment was meta-human; 2) it was part of the reason he came here in the first place; and 3) he of all people should know that most people wouldn't appreciate the reaction he just gave to Seth's appearence. "Umm...sorry about that," he stammered. "I just wasn't expecting..." |

"Pleased to meet you, Kaholy shit, what'd you do to deserve a name like that?" Seth said, knowing damned well that it wasn't the kid's name, but he'd be dragging this one on for a while. Maybe just to get back at him or give him a hard time, but hey it was all in good fun. The leg that had stopped the kid returning to the ground as all the legs turned and carried Seth over to the kid, easily picking the fallen luggage off the ground and stacking it up again. Luckily for the unfortunate student, Seth had learned a long time ago how to use the legs in this fashion without having to stab them into whatever he was trying to pick up. In fact, the ends of the legs would shape themselves to fit through the handles of the luggage or to mold around the bottom to move them.
"You get used to it, don't worry about it. Both the bones and the scars. Seriously though, what's your name and where are you headed? Unless you want me calling you Kaholy Shit for the rest of your stay . . . " ((Sleeepy . . . time for bed XD)) |

"You mean besides putting my foot in my mouth?" the boy replied, mentally kicking himself, looking at the boy pick up his luggage. Neat trick, that... "Kazama...call me KA though, everybody does," he continued. "And I'm supposed to be headed towards Genbu House...only Im not sure where that is..." |

"Well, I know it's one of the four big buildings over there . . . " Seth replied, jerking his thumb over to the four large buildings that made up the four Houses of AHS. He'd graduated by the time they were finished and students were assigned to a particular house though, so he never really put much effort into finding out which was which. "Don't know which one though. Sorry. Never had to stay in 'em myself. I'm sure you could just stop by one and ask the first person you see though, they're probably a little more used to the whole 'house' concept than I am. And mind your step, I'm not gonna follow you around all day picking up those boxes of yours, KA . . . " (( Sorry for delay ^^" )) |

Kinai was just taking a walk after dropping all of her luggage off at her dorm. She hadn't changed into her uniform yet and didn't plan on to yet either. She had on her normal loose white T and baggy camo pants on along with her arm wrapped with white cloth to her hands along with her red band tied around her head to keep her long bangs up. She was cute looking once you got passed all the bad look. As she strolled along watching all of the scenary of the new school she was starting to attend. It seemed very peiceful. Her eyes watched ever tree with its leafless branches and the little piles of snow on the ground below them. She breathed in a long cool breathe and exhaled to leave a smokey substance float into the cold air. She didnt' know what she was doing with out a coat, but she could always cover up with her wings that were invisable at the moment. Along around her sholder were here bow and arrows as well. And another thing that would really seem strange were her pointed ears. Not very many like her around these parts. Kinai through all her peaceful thoughts and thinking nothing would really bother her now came to a hault at some crazy looking thing next to a human. Her bright light blue eyes gazed at something she'd never seen or heard of. What in the blazes.... This struck her curiousty now. She slowly turned her direction to the boy who just toppled over with his luggage and the crazy legged man talking to him. Though she wasn't going to call him a crazy legged man, but was going to see him up closer and admire it. She wasn't the only different one. |

(OOC: No, I'm sorry for the delay. ^_^;; Wretched comp...) KA nodded. He looked enough of a tool as it was, and now they were dwawing stares. While he'd grown used to it in the outside world--given his perferred style of dress, he had to be--here, he couldn't help but wonder. Were they staring at Seth's obvious metahuman talent, or his absence of one? And metahumans or no, falling on one's ass the first day of school was NOT the best way to Make Friends And Influence People... Noticing that one girl--Fighter of some kind, he thought, judging from her attire and the bow and quiver slung over he shoulder--was staring very intently at them. He smiled a bit sheepichly at her, hoping he didn't look too self-conscious as he began rolling the SkyCrate towards his intended destination. "So this is new, then?" he asked, grasping for a subject. "The Houses, I mean. I know you said you graduated before, but I was wondering if there were any sort of crietria as to who gets assigned to what House. None of the stuff I got said." |
