It was suicidal for her to be here. The sky burned with the passionate colors of red, orange and blue. Night was fighting its way in, causing the light of day to be pushed back. Even without the use of her powers, she could feel the dark magic of this area swirl around her. It was like drowning in a sea of warmth. The magic brushed up along her skin, and caressed her like a familiar lover. It filled the air, and under the natural scent of the forest, she could notice something else. It was faint, and at the same time almost suffocating.

She could instantly feel the affect that this forest had on her; How once she entered its circle of power that her powers were nullified. This area was rumored to be dangerous and even knowing this it didn’t bother her. She didn’t try to fight against it. If something happened while she was out here... well then that would be that. Maybe she wouldn’t even try to fight back, then again… maybe she would.

For now, Damara silently strolled among the trees. She didn’t wear the school uniform. Instead she wore a red and black pleated skirt, along with the black top, and black feminine sweater. A chain was wrapped loosely about her hips. As had become her usual, her silky black hair was left out to flow freely about her body.

The filtered light from the tree tops lit up random areas of the forest floor. It was dangerous here, and for some reason that sense of danger added to its beauty. She felt comfortable here. It wasn’t her fault that Danger and beauty were naturally so alluring. Her mind tried to reach out and metaphysically search, and roll around in the magic. It intrigued her, and she wanted to taste it with her mental senses.

Unknowing to her, she seemed to have stepped In to a hot spot. The pure surge of the raw power through her body brought a gasp to her lips. For a moment, she couldn’t so much as breathe. She looked up, and tried to focus on the image of those leafless branches, and the orange rays of light touching upon them. When she finally relaxed under the tension, She took in a deep breath; filling her lungs with the oxygen she couldn’t draw upon a few moments before. She hadn’t noticed it, but her left hand was clutching her chest.

Silvery blue eyes gazed around, as her senses searched for things she could not see. A splash of light from above happened to be lighting up the area where she was standing. Only a few feet ahead of her, she saw a large boulder. The sound of something rustling in the distance drew her attention away. Just as she turned to look in the direction, she noticed a black bird dart from the area, and fly in her direction. Damara rose her arm up. She had no knowledge that the bird would come to her, but something told her to do so anyway. The crow landed upon her forearm.

Damara only slightly tilted her head, allowing just a few strands to brush against her pale face. As she did, she lowered her arm so she can easily gaze upon the black bird. It beady black eyes stared at her… and she couldn’t help but be captured by it. She couldn’t communicate with it, but there was an instant understanding. Then came some more movements from the general area. Damara lowered her arm, and the crow landed upon her shoulder.

Mors stared into the sky and smiled at the coming of darkness, he enjoied the cool air that it brought with it. He still felt of the winter but it was nothing compared to the distant lands where he came. Where the souls are seperated into enternal salvation or eternal damnation. He was a the gate keeper, he alone willed the souls to him and sent them on their way to the toll man. He felt he had his place in the world, yet with the presense of someone in the forest he stood, leaning outward as he did so.

He stepped out from behind the tree and watched the girl interact with the crow, he smirked, a crow, one of many representations of the carriers of the dead. He enjoied crows, and seeing them together always spurred him to joke about a murder infront of him. He decided then to make himself known alil bit, a presense of Death and a constant chill. Mors was not intending to harm the girl he was happy to see someone in the forest. Having company is always a great thing, he couldn't recall though when the last time he spoke to anyone new, so this encounter could be pleasent.

[ooc not as high spirited, or there would have been more, but it's kinda late and I'm pullin this one outta nowhere.lol]

Her powers may have been nullified, but there were other senses to rely on. There were ways to be observant without ones eyes, or without magic. Damara closed her eyes, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched. How could one feel like they were being watched? Well that is hard to explain. Maybe it was the faintest feelings of shivers run up her skin, or the feeling of the finest hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. She couldn’t sum up in to words what gave her that distinct feeling of know thing that there were eyes on her. However, at the moment, she was certain of it. Her eyes remained closed, even though there was a slight rustle of bushes still off to the side.

When those bushes came to a stop, Damara snapped her eyes opened, and looked in the opposite direction. The quick and sudden movement sends strands of black hair flowing in to the wind. She couldn’t tell where the other person, or persons where. However, she knew it.. Knew that she was not alone.

The hot spot of power no longer made it hard for her to breath. In fact, she didn’t even want to move away from it. Against the wished of her physical body, she stepped forward; one step at a time, till she moved away from the invisible circle of raw raging power. The crow on her shoulder felt normal, as if it belonged there. It was as if she had been linked to that crow before this day. This of course was impossible, wasn’t it?

No longer in the circle of power, she strolled forward toward the boulder. Her gaze was lowered. To those looking upon her, it would seem as if her eyes were closed. Once near the boulder, she reached out with her hand, and touched the cool surface. Was her watcher friend or foe? Damara turned her back to the boulder, and gazed out upon the forest before her.

“I don’t like being watched.”

She said it in one of her soft voices. A voice that easily carried on the wind, but was not harsh on the ears.

The dark forest was a strange and haunting place, and Jacob had not been back since his short encounter with Naiya. It wasn't fear that stopped him, just his better judgment. The last time Jacob had walked through these trees with Naiya curled against his chest, he had felt the darkness of this place around him in such copious amounts that is seemed to flow into his very veins.

What bothered him was how good it had felt, like the call of a siren. It never turned out well for the sailors when they heard that call.

Jacob had done his best to give in after years of constant and pointless fighting, and it had been nothing but good to him for the last several weeks. So once again he gave in, and walked into the heavy woods that would lead him back into the dark forest, and whatever happened to wait for him inside.

The power of the place drew him in with a force that was impossible to resist, and he continued to walk forward even as the Sun fell and gave way to the night just as it had for countless days in the past. Branches and thorns cut at the uncovered and vulnerable portions of his body, and his hands were well cut and abused by the time he drew closer to the source that called him.

When he did free himself from the benign attack of the vegetation of the dark forest, Jacob stumbled out no more than twenty yards from Damara and stood there completely still and silent.

The power hit him in the chest like a blow, and fluttered across his skin like a gentle and well practiced pair of lips. A feral growl sounded from him before he slid to his knees in a surprisingly graceful and voluntary motion, a long shuddering breath slipping free from his red lips.

His face had several long cuts along its finely featured surface, and blood slowly snaked downward before dripping off the side of his jaw line, each drop impacting on the ground below in a miniature explosion of scarlet.

It took Jacob several minutes to actually comprehend his surroundings, but Damara was the first thing his eyes found and held. Each normally sharp amethyst orb was hazed and lazy, a drugged look that some men had after getting high, or having really great sex.

"I always meet the most pleasant people in the strangest places..."

What had come out from the bush was not what she had expected. She would have thought it to be an animal, a beast, maybe even a demon or monster; however, what stood before her was neither. So that was why she heard movement in the bushes. At least one of her questions was answered. With that mystery uncovered, all that was left was to find out who was watching her. Call it instinct, but she could still feel those eyes gazing upon her. There was no harm being done by it, but at the same time she felt slightly violated.

Ignoring the deep seeded feeling, Damara let her Gaze remain upon Jacob. Something about seeing him in that position pleased her. Knowing that the power had engulfed him and brought him to his knees before her made her smirk. The over all image of him was beautiful. However, Damara managed to focus her gaze on to the blood that trickled down his cheek. She had the sudden urge to lick that trail of red liquid from his cheek. It would not have been meant as a sexual advance, no not at all. Some habits die hard; and this scene reminded her of the days of practicing dark ritual magic.

Silently, she fought the urge away. If she gave in to it, she would not be able to stop herself from wanting to make him bleed more. As she looked at him, she saw it. She could see how it would look to see him all bloodied and harmed by her own hand. She could easily do more damage, and he would possible enjoy it. As if responding to her inner riled up thoughts, the crow at her shoulder flapped its wings. It became slightly unsettled by her thoughts, and needed a few moments to calm down.

Once it settled back down at her shoulder, Damara lifted up off the boulder and stepped toward Jacob.

“I wouldn’t consider myself to be a pleasant person. In fact, if this was a different situation… you might have been in danger.”

She managed to keep her gaze focused on his. His words had stopped her momentarily, but she was back to walking toward him again. As she entered that circle of concentrated power, she took in a deep breath. Now standing in front of him, she reached her hand forward and took a light hold of his chin. He was already looking at her, so there was no need to lift his face any further. Damara gazed in to that gaze, and grinned at the look he returned. He was drunk off of the power that was surging around him.

To make it easier, she knelt down on one knee. Her thumb brushed against that line of blood, but her hand kept that light hold on his chin. Look at that, she resisted the urge to lick it off. Instead she withdrew the hand, and placed the blood stained thumb near her lips. Her small pink tongue slipped through her lips and licked the blood from her thumb. Right after doing so, she propped her elbow on the bended knew, and rested her chin on the back of the same hand.

“We are being watched.”

"There are always going to be dangerous situations, even when I am far away from your presence..."

Her touch felt cold against his chin but he did not withdraw or move away from her. His twin lavender eyes moved with slow lazy motions, watching her lovely eyes for some miniscule sign of her intentions. They were as deep and unreadable as a pair of glinting sapphires, and he fought the urge to let a smile creep across the surface of his lips.

She reminded him of himself, just enough to be extremely careful with her.

Jacob hissed softly as her thumb stroked out across his cheek, both from the pleasant pain of her touch, and the sudden feeling of her power against him. Even with her power repressed by the dark magic everywhere around them, he had felt it for a brief moment when she had touched the minor cut on his face.

He had taken his inner lip between his teeth when she touched him, suppressing any further noise with a sharp bite to the vulnerable piece of flesh. When she did withdraw from him, his eyelids shut, hiding his amethyst eyes from sight.

Blood trickled freely from the new wound on his lip, snaking down from the right corner of his mouth and accentuating the curves and details of his face before dripping off the edge of his chin to join the rest of his now wasted blood.

When his eyes did open they were sharper and more focused, a new alertness permeating their complex purple structure. He was wearing a dark gray turtleneck under a large black leather jacket, one that hung off his shoulders perfectly, and a simple pair of blue jeans rounded out his clothing.

"I know."

Jacob's right hand slid under his jacket, and when he pulled it free he was holding a large pistol in his hand, one that glinted menacingly in the low light of the forest.
Jacob pointed it towards the bushes that had just previously been a point of great interest to Damara's eyes, and thumbed back the hammer.

"Step out. Now."

A smile crept upon his face as he watched the encounter, he tilted his head and watched their body language and was confused by it but not out of ignorace but ouf of disgust. He never let other people touch him, he found it to be strange and unnatural. But then again he had never been touched by another person before, never knew its pleasures. He snapped back into the reality of the situation a simple cocking of a hammer on a pistol.

Mors smiled alittle wider as he heard the boy speak, bossy... , he thought and no longer smiled. His dark gray eyes never left the pistol he held a folded staff in his hand as he stepped out silently from the shadows of this deep wood. Mors walked slowly out and all the while he unfolded the staff, locking it into place he then leaned on it.

But with a sharp twist from gloved hands, the long serated scythe blade appeared. His instrument of Death, he bowed his hooded head lightly and pulled it back, revealing his long black hair. Tilting his head his pale skin seemed to glow with the lighting of the forest. His powers were surpressed but not his aura of influence.

He spoke then, " Greetings...I am Mors..." the cold slip of his words were chilling, even as he bowed slightly greeting them formally he looked at them and waited to see what their response would be. Still highly amused at the pistol being drawn on him, Mors would not take offense to it or see it as a threat.

Merely he stared at the boy and narrowed his eyes slightly, " Your firearm will do you no good here, I'd think it wiser to put it away...Before you hurt yourself anymore..." Mors refered to his small scratches and the blood that ran down his face. Standing straight then he waited for their reply.

He hissed, and it sent shivers down her spine. Why did she enjoy such things so much? She gazed upon him, her eyes sparkling with interest. He had potential; that was for certain. He knew they were being watched as well. Damara licked her lips with the tip of her tongue as she stood up, and took a few steps back. She stood at the edge of that circle of power, and felt as sit pulsed through her body, and slowly became in sync with her own heart beat. It felt as if she had two presences beating with in her chest. Damara clasped her hands together and held them up by the center of her chest as she closed her eyes.

As she did this, Jacob was pulling out the gun. She didn’t see him do it, but heard the soft click as he pulled the hammer back. That was odd; she wouldn’t have thought Jacob to be the type to have a gun, or to use one. Maybe that was because of her own dislike towards those types of weapons. As he called out the stranger, Damara noted how he had pulled himself together. His voice came across much more stronger, which was good. If he was going to try and be intimidating, he had to sound and look the part.

In the mean time, Damara was trying to feel out the other presence. The dark magic of the forest was making it difficult. Even when she did sense something, it was too difficult to pinpoint if it was a person. There were too many life-forces, and her power was being suppressed too much.

There was a low sound off to the side and it called to Damara’s attention. She turned to see another male step out of the shadows. This one however, she didn’t know. After Mors statement, Damara’s gaze switched between the two males in her presence; and she couldn’t stop the smirk from spreading across her lips. With a shrug of her shoulders, she walked back to the boulder and leaned against it.

“If you two are going to fight, then get it on with. However, before that... “

She turned her gaze toward Mors.

“Do you often hide out in the shadows and watch people? Have you seen a girl here, same age as me, silver hair, and red eyes?”

The newcomer was certainly dressed in dramatic fashion, and his armament was equally over the top. It was no shocker that his ego was tailor made to fit his looks. Jacob had still been crouching on the ground when he withdrew his pistol, and it was much harder to seem intimidating when you were partially on the ground.

Jacob drew himself up from the ground in a single graceful and fluid motion, his right arm holding steady as the gun rose with the rest of his body. Jacob wasn’t a particular fan of firearms, but they were just as valid a tool as any other countless weapons of destruction created by human hands. If a gun could get the job done, Jacob would use it. It didn’t get anymore simple than that.

”Hurt?”

Jacob quirked his head to the side ever so slightly, his sharp amethyst eyes fixed carefully on the newcomer, watching Damara’s movements out of the corner of his vision. His tongue slipped out from between his lips before swiping across the long trail of blood snaking down from the self-inflicted bite. The scarlet color of blood mixing perfectly with the light pink of his tongue before it withdrew into his mouth once more, the strong taste of copper filling his senses.

”If you really consider this to be hurt, you haven’t been having any fun at all…”

Jacob smiled softly, a warm charming expression that was just one of many that he could summon up at will. The magic of this place might be dampening all of their powers, but he had some doubt that it would have much effect on a piece of lead punching into his body as more than a thousand feet per second.

It was Damara and her question that made him lower his weapon and place it back inside the concealed shoulder holster under his jacket. Small pictures of that strange day several weeks ago flashed through his mind at a rapid pace. A girl with long silver hair, and pretty red eyes that were the color of blood.

She was asking the wrong person.

”Was her name, Naiya?”

Tilting his head he furrowed his brow at the comment about a missing girl, "Hmm...I can't say I've seen such a girl matching that...As for your other comment, I wouldn't say that I watch people, it's when people come into the dark wood alone that piqued my curosity." He looked at Jacob and a small smile appeared on his face. " I find my fun in other ways thank you." He nodded his head lightly and watched as he put his firearm away.

Slinging his scythe over his shoulders he drummed his fingers along the scythe and raised his brow. Mors wasn't fond of looking for people but if they wandered into such a place he didn't see any harm in helping them. But that was neither her nor there. He thought of what immortance this girl might have and thinking some what aloud. "What immortance does this girl have? Not many venture here, unless they look to hunt or test themselves." He looked around into the shadows and the tree as he waited to hear what they had to say.

((Not my best post, but yeah.. o.o))

The name hit her hard. Damara set that cold gaze upon Jacob, and it wasn’t the nicest of all looks. Why did he know who the girl was? Damara took in a deep breath, as she tried to ease herself. Jacob new of her sister, that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, in fact that was a good thing. Wasn’t it? With her hands, she brushed her long black hair over one shoulder, and let it rest on the front of her body.

“Why do you know that name? It is not Was her name Naiya. Her name IS Naiya.”

She stated as a fact. There was no need to speak of the girl in the pass tense, as if she no longer existed. That was unless… Jacob knew something that she did not know. When that thought entered her head, her gaze upon Jacob became more concentrated.

“Unless, there is a reason you are using the pass tense? I know she was here… Nothing has happened to her, right?”

It was a questions but she spoke it as if it was more of a statement. She didn’t want to be mad at Jacob. In fact, she had no problems with him. However, at the moment it seemed he was the outlet to vent her anger on. That was... if she was about to hear something she didn’t want to hear.

Off to the side, she heard Mor’s statements. She ignored al but one of them; giving him only a side glance as she answered.

“If you think those are the only two reasons to enter this forest, then you are very wrong.”

Her line of questioning surprised Jacob; it wasn’t the questions themselves, but her attitude as she asked him. She seemed anxious; as if she was afraid of what the truth might hold in store for her. Her comment towards the male with the scythe sent a small smile across his face, and he chose that moment to speak.

”Naiya, is perfectly fine. So far as I know anyways…”

Jacob was silent for a moment or two, his eyes looking off into the space above Damara’s left shoulder, his eyes focused on nothing in particular. Jacob’s mind was racing through his memories of that day, and trying to find some reasonable way to describe what he had seen.

The magic in the air was so thick that he could taste it on his tongue. There were ruins, crumbled and seemingly ancient, and the sky was filled with swarming bugs, bugs that looked like tiny people. There was fire, incredible heat, and a girl resting on a flat stone in the ruins, her silver hair playing in the wind and flames, but it never caught fire.

His eyes glanced back over to Damara, amethyst locking with sapphires as he studied the coldness there. “I helped her to fight off what attacked her, but she was weak and dizzy afterward. I carried her all the way back, and left her where she told me, after I made certain that she was not physically harmed.”
