It was chilly tonight, and for the occasion, Noah wore a white fitted hoodie with a pack of glow in the dark dinosaurs on the chest. Her jean skirt had frayed edges and her black tight were cropped. Her silver sequin flats tapped on the side of the roof. She had been sitting on the edge, letting her feet dangle over, not really caring about the height. It's only 4 stories high right? The only lights around her were the stars and the moon, along with a few street campus lights in the distance; that of course and the end of her Newport blue. Its ash feel off and hit the stone soundless. It's night like these that made Noah wonder what exactly was wrong with her and the world. It seemed like nobody ever enjoyed the wonders around them. She had gone to the student underground to much to even enjoy it. It wasn't like anyone actully talked to her. Then again, she could have easily conjured up the confidence to speak to someone herself. She pushed the [>] button on her cassette player and slipped on some old school head phones. The heavy, warm sounds of In Cold Blood echod out around her, because there wasn't really any sound going around anyway. Noah's usually piercingly blue eyes were a pale reflection of the moon, a pastel aqua sort of shade. Her strawberry blonde eyebrows furrowed as she stared out into the distance watching a passing car with its bright headlights driving towards the school in the distance. Who the hell comes to school at this time of the night? Ignoring the headlights, she reached into her rainbow heart tote, took out a little black journal and turned to a new, crisp page begging to be written on. Lets take this night, and make it last forever. For the past few years we've come and gone. Faces and names, this place has done nothing but changed, With our night missions and roller sessions. Everyone has a heart right? What have I ever done to you? So all I ask is for you to enjoy the time we have together and forget the clear boundaries binding us from one another. I do nothing but think back on what we've become, and what we were. So This ones for all of you who have changed, who have passed through the strange way life has taken us. And forget the rights and wrongs. And we're not going to take it so we're giving up. Live this night like its your last. Tonight is where it starts, and it starts right now. After she finished jotting down her poem, she let herself fall back onto the side on the roof and stared up at the stars while In Cold Blood's lyrics poured out of her head phones: "Family griveing from their loved one's mortality He didn't have a reason to die then kill high, it's a tragedy" |

There was always something about the darkness that followed the day that drew Zlex out to enjoy it. She had just came out onto the roof only a few moments ago with her white silk blouse shimmering in the moonlight. She was built just as any human was and it was not immediately evident that she was an alien. In fact, only when one could peer into her violet tainted eyes could they see that she was not normal by any sense of the word. She was slender and pale with white hair that flowed down passed her thighs as graceful as water and as pure as innocence. She seemed to glow amist all of the night wearing the color that had dominated her life ever since she was born. A necklace adorned her and that was all as far as any type of jewelry. Her shoes tacked against the rooftop as she began walking toward the girl who had been here before her. It was habitual now to introduce herself to many despite the shyness that sometimes overtook her personality. She found herself debating over whether to speak to the girl or not. It seemed as if she were busy doing something else and she feared that she wouldn't be heard if she did speak. Besides, some strange instrument was covering her ears and she could only guess that it was to protect them from any words or sounds that could irritate her. So, sitting down beside this new girl and examining her and her instrument, Zlex waved a little as her own type of silent introduction. A smile came over her face to show that she was friendly and would not bother her if she didn't want anyone to do so. Breaking the peace of anything was one of the taboos to Zlex and she dared not contradict herself in any way, lest she prove herself a liar and most unhonorably a Hashinarian (which she already was by blood). Yet, her curiousity was starting to flare up as it usually did when something could be learn in a certain situation. Not only did she not know the girl who lied there seeming rather daydreamy, but she also had some device that was not known to Zlex at all. Such elements in people were most interesting and she longed for a conversation (even if it weren't but a few words) that would satisfy her curious hunger... |

While then end of the song had dyed down she heard something else through the track. A faint tapping. She up and looked at a girl who had sat down beside her with what seemed like a white night gown. Her mouth opened and the half smoken cigarette fell down landed on the stone rolling off. "shit ahh on man," she said to herself. She picked it up and stuck dusted it off a little. Keep Your Mouth Shut, the next song on side A came blasting through her headphones. She quickly turned took them off turned to the girl who was now waving at her. "Nice night out huh? I didn't think anyone came out here so late...but I guess I was wrong," She said half awkwardly. Noah had been caught off gaurd to she easily felt shy, but it seemed evident that this girl wanted to talk to someone, as the look in her eyes seemed to give off an eerie ray of vagueness and loneliness. She cocked her head slightly,"..My names Noah, what's yours?" There was something oddly different about this chick. |

A new flicker of light grew on the roof gaining height and importance as it rose to lick the edges of a slender white stick. The embossed silver device that produced the fire was in the pale thin fingers. It was a recent habit that he had developed, his only human vice really. Human vices had never appealed to this man before but after quite a number or recent problems the poison entering his system calmed him down quite a bit. Cold green eyes looked across at the girls that were on the roof as he wondered why she picked up a filthy half used cigarette instead of a fresh one. He was on the roof for perhaps the first time since…well since as long as most people could remember. The poor graduate of the school had arrived as an envoy of the PTA stepping into the open air for a quick smoke before he went back to pester the principal about the many recent problems. Eeth must have looked scruffy to most, the scraggly goatee and the shaggy raven hair that had to be pushed behind his ears with one hand as his attention went up to the sky. The stars looked good to him tonight, it was rare that they chose to speak to him with their beauty. Finally it got to him, the shitty cigarette that was in the girl’s mouth was a disgrace and it hurt him just knowing it was there. He removed the pack from his deep jacket pocket and removed a fresh stick holding it only for a second before it was extended to her in a non chalant motion. “Noah eh? Better keep some class, don’t dive after these.” His voice was gruff going mostly unused for the past week. It held the distinct Northern England accent that Eeth could just never shake. Even after years in this foreign land his old roots were obvious to even strangers. He held out the lighter snapping the flame back on. It was too distinctly his, even the roomy black coat that held his wallet, smokes and flame. ((Hope you dont mind, it did say open)) |

To Zlex's surprise, and great relief, Noah actually turned off the instrument and introduced herself. She had decided on her own that she didn't like that device; it was too loud and it made people drop things. She had watched the cigarette roll down only to be rescued by Noah in the end. Cigarettes weren't anything new to her; she had seen many people smoking these substances before. She had always classified them as the way of the humans and dared not test how it would affect her. "Zlex Marski," She answered, smiling just as Madame had taught her to do. But no other words could pass through her lips before another individual came. She studied him, the ring of gold around her pupil expanding beside the violet. No, she had never seen him before either. Apparently, though, he was talking to Noah and she found herself studying something else before she became a bother. Yet, still, occasionally she would glance back at Eeth and Noah. She wrapped her fragile pale fingers around her arms as if she were cold although her attire would prove otherwise. Zlex zoned herself out of most of her surroundings staring blankly and pointlessly to a distance that did not exist in this dimension... |

"Zlex...that's a pretty cool name." Her voice sounded muffeled with the cig sticking out of the side of her lip. It tasted like shitty dirt now, after it had fallen. And with her goddamned luck, she had realized her pack was now empty. A gritty, voice echoed from the air into her ears, “Noah eh? Better keep some class, don’t dive after these.” Her face turned slowly and stared at a rather scruffy looking man holding out a stick to her. Her eyes squinted slightly at the sight. Shit..I must be dreamin... But then, she obviously wasn't. She took her crappy cig and put it out on the cold stone, making a soft hiss. Her arm extened out in the direction of the guy and gently took the now lighted cigarette. "Thanks...",her soft voice told him. After placing it on the side of her lips, Noah inhaled the deadly toxins in softly and relaxed. "...it was my only one left." she said half smiling, while at the same time, thinking back on how stupidly desperate she must have looked after she picked up that dirty, half-burned stick. "You look a little older then a student...",Noah said curiously,"...your not a teacher are you? cause that would bite." She dismissed the thought, as he had offered her a new cig, but still wondered what his position here exactly was. |

The ring around the girl’s eye, that other girl mind you, it was rather different to see. Eeth had seen it before, just once before but that was just in a vast crowd. Her being a meta was no surprise, after all it was this school made for them. He now had their names, no big deal but he could address them with something other then ‘hey you’ or ‘that chick’. Age didn’t breed wisdom you see, it just gave you more reasons to keep your mouth closed. Then she zoned out, the other girl did nothing about it either…it was truly perplexing. He would have snapped his fingers in front of her eyes or waved or done something except his hands were full. The lighter snapped back close having tinged the new stick with flame, the stick extended to young Noah. The lighter was pinned against his palm with use of his thumb so he could freely wave it in Zlex’s vision to try and bring her back to earth. If he didn’t know better he would think her on drugs, hey they were teenagers, who knew what the hell they had been doing. A few waves and he was satisfied returning to his own personal sulking in the dark. Then the sulking was ruined by Noah’s speaking once again. She was trying to be polite, thanking him. It might have been the first time in many long memories that he had been actually thanked for doing something. For giving a minor a smoke no less. He had recently had to take care of some nasty baba yagas that had hidden in some crates, but did he get a thank you? No. He got the fucking bill for four thousand toasters. Wow, where people put their priorities these days. Smoking is apparently more important then keeping some people alive. Then the young miss said something that made a thin chuckle come from his throat. “A teacher? Fuck no. Most of them here are either tight assed bastards or |Mature topics are not allowed| psychopaths, I’m glad I’m not one of them. Besides if I was would I have given a minor something to smoke?” He shook his head just thinking about him standing in a classroom full of students and calling their work yak piss. Yeah that’s what he would have done. “Don’t worry, I’m just one of the unlucky graduates you’ve never heard about. Here to talk to Mori on behalf of the PTA, long story, boring shit mostly.” Oh right, there was that time to introduce himself right? Zlex and Noah had already given their names, it was his turn. “Eeth Hellsing, my son goes here now but I don’t think you’ve ever heard of him.” |

Zlex was, indeed, in another world. A world that most on earth would never know about due to their government. She would have taken a ferry down the crisp cool green waters that flowed between the fields of blue under a sky of maddening colors if it weren't for Eeth's waving. This, however, did not disappoint Zlex for she had been to that world before and had seen (and partook in) the genocide that wiped out most of her people. It wasn't exactly her happy place but it was the only place she knew to return to. But now awakened and thrown back into the present reality, she inwardly laughed at herself as she now glanced back and forth between Noah and Eeth. She had caught the part about teachers and found that she didn't quite understand what the two of them were talking about. Teachers were good to Zlex and she had no reason to talk about them in such a manner. They were just doing their job and trying to expand the minds of the youth....well, as far as humans were concerned. Her sister, she knew, would have probably slapped the living crap out of her for just thinking of such things. But, her sister, luckily, was no where to be found. "Eeth Hellsing?" She heard herself murmur almost to herself. She had heard the name before but could never connect it with a face. Indeed, others had said something about him and she had either overheard or participated the conversation. "Is your son's name Eeth too?" She asked immediately feeling stupid for asking such a question. Still, she was curious to know if this was the only Eeth Hellsing and if she actually had heard about him. She did remember one thing in those talks about him; he was a whispered name that no one could quite explain and she found herself frequently wanting to know more. Besides that, she had lost all recollection of the talk and of the trigger that provoked it.... |

[[ehh sorry it took so long guys..I've been gone for a bit]] She smiled a bit. Eeth had made a definate point about the teachers in the school. There were all up-tight assholes who snobbed ut on you if you said a stupid answer. She looked at Zlex just as a whisper left her mouth. Eeth talked about his son and Noah searched through the scattered thoughts in her mind. SHe remembered hearing this boys name. And, tonight certainly wasn't the first time. "What grade is he in?" She asked looking up at the older Eeth, while taking the stick out of her mouth and pausing to exhale out smoke. |

“Nah, my son is named Loire and honestly…I don’t know what grade he is in. Heh haven’t seen that bastard in ages.” That was enough to be said, Eeth regretted bringing it up already. He hadn’t seen his son since Eeth’s love left them. That was ages ago…cant mourn forever. Instead he closed his eyes trying to wash away the thoughts before staring at the girls. Zlex was the one that stood out the most to him. Those eyes, he had seen them before, long ago in memory long forgotten, perhaps back when most of the governments still bothered to keep him informed. He tried to shove that thought to the back of his mind, he had learned the lesson over and over again that people’s lives were not determined by what blood they carry, monster, alien, meta, human…all of them were the same, asshole or decent folk. “Miss Zlex you seem rather distracted tonight. Something on your mind you would like to share? I might not have a fucking license in psychiatry but we could probably help a bit.” Ah there was the spirit of AHS, jerkwads offering their help to people whose worlds were different, people who just hadn’t been around the block enough. Admittedly this was a scheme, this was to get the girl talking so Eeth could figure out where the fuck he had seen those eyes before. The other girl was a mystery to him, she seemed like your typical addicted to tobacco teenager. Heh, tobacco…a screw you a couple hundred years in the making. In fifty years it would still be around, and there would still be girls like Noah taking a secret puff on the roof of a school hoping teachers didn’t come out of no where and bust them. Yeah students actually had something to worry about when it came to the teachers at this school. A lot of those bastards belonged in mental institutions instead of on a payroll. Guess that was the only way to keep a bunch of these kids in check though. Eeth knew he wasn’t exactly a nice guy when he was here, he couldn’t count how many times Logan had literally picked him up and thrown him about the class room. The best time was when he was actually tossed through the window. Those were the good old days, when the parties were louder, the teachers more clueless and the world friendlier…oh and Eeth had his wings back then. Now all he had to remind himself of those days was a weekly nightmare and small protrusions of bone on his back where his wings used to be. “Sorry Miss Noah I shouldn’t have volunteered your services without asking you.” The stick came back to his lips, earlier it was a challenge to talk through them while holding the cigarette, this time he removed it and returned it once his words were done inhaling it the entire time. |

And so it was confirmed that the Eeth that she had heard so many times before in lost conversations was now standing before her. So much for the glory of remembrance. Still, Zlex was sure there was something she was supposed to remember about him. For the meantime, she didn't bother herself with such conceptions. Instead, another image filled her mind. There was another person who she knew that hadn't seen their son in ages. However, that person had not taken it so lightly (and still doesn't to this day). She roamed the distant lands in search of her first born child, killing all who stood in her way and all who dared to challenge her. So close in mind yet so far in heart, it was merely her twisted personality and her karma that had wrought such a fate upon her sister. And although she was highly curious as to why Eeth hadn't seen his son in so long, she dared not ask him anything about it or prolong the matter. The last time she was led by such curiousity, she was tracked and labeled...shoved into a concentration camp with nothing but a wretched tattoo adorning her weak and disheveled body. No matter what the circumstances were, she never wanted to return to that type of lifestyle. Zlex's expression weakened in a sense of susceptibility. Those dreadful memories and horrible places filled with mystery and wonder could never be fully erased from her in any situation. In fact, Eeth's questioning had made her feel that her past was written right on her forehead. She cautiously shook her head. "No, there isn't anything wrong with me...not really, anyway. Just the same things that bother me everyday. I just hope that I'll get used to it and that it will fade away into the very depths of my mind..." The only true problem with her was her sister. Hunted down day by day by a sadistic and insane image wasn't the very highlight of her day (which might explain her love of the night). Still, unless further investigated by the two acquantinces, Zlex didnot intend to elaborate herself. Besides, talking about her past wasn't hard for Zlex and she found herself explaining tales of lost days to most anyone...it was only the genocide that she feared and resented to speak of. "Besides, " She added with a slight sigh, "I don't think there's any help for me at all. It runs in my blood, you see..." |

Noah sat on the edge listening intently to what Zlex was saying. She shifted to a postion so that she was facing both her and Eeth. She wasn't exactly used to talking to people, and she hadn't in the longest time. This would have to be the longest she's kept a conversation...sort of. Zlex's words were meaningful. And it was something Noah could certainly relate to. Wondering if there was something that was wrong was herslef was surely typical. But it was more of the smaller things that bothered her most. The ones that built up inside and erupted out in a flow of tears. She held her cigarette in her hand and stared at it for a long moment. Its ash burned and flaked away with help from the light wind that sent a chill down her spine. She could hear Eeth say he shouldn't have 'offered his services w/o asking her' and she at first didn't understand until the last of the cigarette burned. "No need to apologize, but if you had asked me, I wouldn't have taken it because I would have had second thoughts..." This indeed was true. Noah wasn't an avid smoker. In fact, she started the night she stepped foot into this god forsaken school. It was on nights like these when she'd have a seldom smoke out on the rood by herself. It was usual for her to go out on her own in the night, expecially with insomnia, and she'd be by herself most the most part, until tonight. |

“Heh, sometimes you kids are too naïve. Those memories aren’t going to leave you just haunt you until your hair is gray and on lonely nights you hear their voices coming for you.” Damn he sounds bitter and old doesn’t he? Oh well Eeth wasn’t that bad he just got a little odd when he smoked. The poisons inside did fuck up his mind once in a while, he thought better and didn’t inhibit his words when he was actually focused on something like now. Those chilling emerald eyes looked across at both the girls, the one that kept mostly quiet worried him, she just tried to sit back and smoke while the other one was being too slow at just spitting out whatever was actually worrying her. The bit about her problems running in her blood almost made Eeth laugh. Like he wouldn’t know that the sins of the parents many times haunted the children. It was a bad truth but it happened. Shit half this school would probably say they had bad blood, every one of them will end up being helped in the end. Or dieing in a horribly painful way. Eeth scratched the side of his chin nervously as the cigarette burned to cinders. His had been puffed away and he quickly snuffed the nub that remained on. He must have looked odd to the rest, a grown man hanging out and smoking with children sounding old even though he didn’t have gray hair. Noah’s words made him wonder, while he was talking about helping Zlex she thought it was about the sticks of poison. Oh well not like it was something overly important, she wasn’t leaving yet. “Just keep talking, might as well have a story, nothing else that’s going to happen right now.” While in fact something was happening and someone was trying to call Eeth about it. He had just turned off his cell phone. So the raven haired man left the pack of smokes down on a concrete wall that the roof provided without turning his head from the two girls. |

Zlex tilted her head. Yes, she knew that her memories would never fail to follow her to the ends of the earth. She had lived many long years and never lost a single thread of the past. Perhaps the voices came to her in vain because she unconsciously shunned them out. Still, the fire that had once burned within was pretty much put out by the request made by Eeth. Her story was such a sad story. Why would anyone want to hear it? She could almost hear her sister laughing at her. "If you insist..." She quietly replied. Maybe, just maybe he was right. Maybe talking about the memories would make her feel better. And then she'd be able to set them free...right? She wouldn't have to carry such a burden. At least, not until her sister actually came for her again. "I'm from a planet that is fairly far from here. In fact, I don't think many people on earth know about it at all. It's called Hashinaru. Everything there is reversed from how earth is; the water is a clear crystal green...the grass is a mysterious blue...completely different. Even the people are different." She paused. Of course they were different. "We're raised to hate all other races...'they are all inferior to us,' they say. Anyone who rejects this is tortured and executed. I'm of a high rank and for someone like me to rebel against their ways is a disgrace to the whole planet. Therefore, for not being the offensive cold-hearted alien that I was supposed to be, I was hidden from the world and kept indoors for a long time. My father beat me often although I don't know why." She shook her head. "Our people started many wars mainly to show our power and authority...showing them all that we weren't scared and we were lovers of war and pain. I guess they all got the point...because they started an organization and realized that all of them together could wipe out our race." She took a break here and sighed. "They called themselves the CIACP. They were a very powerful force and were able to kill off most of our people and take over our planet completely. We were put into concentration camps, tortured for their amusement. But they had a heart. They weren't like us who were born to kill. Some were even a little nice to us. Once the CIACP were confident that they had us....I escaped with a group of others. But most of them didn't survive the road to freedom. And most would rather stay out of pride." The hard part came and she was a little hesitant to continue. "My sister and my brother suffered in the camps with me. We're a set of triplets, you see. I freed my brother but could not save my sister. I knew she'd blame me and come after me sooner or later. And even though she couldn't see me on the day we escaped...she could feel the hope that stirred in me....and she knew. And somehow, she knew I wouldn't save her. Because of me, she escaped on her own, but at a very high price. She's blamed me everysince and I can still feel her hatred burning." Her violet eyes fell to the ground as she shook her head. "Her eyes burn through my soul each day...and I can't help but to think...that I became the thing I feared the most...a heartless apathetic being; I betrayed her. And I have to live with it. 'It runs through your blood; Someday, you'll hurt someone only for the satisfaction of their pain, and then you'll know what you truly are without a doubt.' she said to me once. I guess she was right..." |

Zlex's past made her wonder just how bad everyone had had it before coming to AHS. She was sure she had the typical story as any other average metahuman, but at the same time she wasn't comfortable talking about it. In fact she disliked bringing it up at all. Anything that was remotely related triggered her mind to relive those memories. Sometimes she felt she was borderline insane, but ocourse it was her goddamned powers. The truth was, she didn't much about them, like how she got them. But she's learned to control one of them. As she thought about this she leaned over the edge and stare out at the moon. She honestly would do anything to avoid being asked at her past; including pretending to not pay attention. A very nervous Noah smoothed her hair down, even though it was already flawlessly straight. And she fiddled with her oldschool walkman. As Zlex was finishing her story, she thought abotu how hard it must be to lose a sibling, or rather, having not seen them for a long while at her own cost. As an only child, it burned her to know how it felt. She had always wanted a sister or brother, it didn't even matter to her what, all she knew was that she had wanted one. She looked up at Zlex and offered some maybe uplifting condolenses. "I'm sure she will turn up soon enough, Zlex. And when she does, she will probably have forgotten her angers. On another note, you shouldn't blame yourself for what happened to her. You did what you had to do and so did she." |
