The wind had successfully blown her ribbon away, freeing the long white locks of beautiful hair. The white ribbon drifted farther away with little attention sought after it. It wrapped itself gently around a branch nearby as its owner wandered further on without it. It was generally a happy day except for the fact that her sister trailed dangerously close behind her. Every now and then, she dared a glance backward as if her sister would disappear into thin air. Instead, she found two gleaming golden eyes glaring at her in hatred. So, she walked on through the forest and around the trees until she was signaled to have a seat on the ground by a rough push downward. The first, clothed in a white plain dress and an expression of a loss of hope, was known as Zlex Marski who dared to rebel against the evil ways of her people. Her violet tainted eyes were focused on the ground as she pulled at some grass with her finger nervously. Two weeks after captivity and still no sign of losing her sanity to her sister's will. She didn't want to be bended yet. Beside Zlex's cross-legged position stood another who looked exactly like her. This girl, black leather showing all of her wonderful curves and hands across her chest in authority, was known as Zlax Wildcard who had suffered many tragedies and blamed them all on her sister. Her golden eyes were fixed on her sister's head with a look that almost seemed like self-pity. They were much the same deep down inside, yet they were too different for anyone to try to make a connection. Her white hair was made glamorous atop the black leather tank top that had adorned her. She seemed to be thinking, for the most part. Yet her thoughts remained unknown and unimportant. "I hope you've enjoyed yourself so far..." Zlax's melodic voice chimed, breaking the silence that had endured for most of the walk. "Yes," Zlex's voice matched to the sweetness of Zlax's and they sounded exactly the same. The only difference was the forceful edge Zlax had spoke with. "I bet you thought your friends would save you." Zlax continued, studying her sister for any sign. "No, I'd rather them not." The silence filled in once more and it was due time that Zlax started her conversation on more productive material. A familiar tapping sound interrupted the air that could only be Zlax's fingernails against the sheath of her sword. "So, you wanted to know why I'll end up killing you...." "Yes, for the most part. It's most helpful when one knows why they are being executed." "Well, I thought you had always known. But, I suppose we can go through the past a little...back to the genocide that caused you to flee without me." Zlax began as her eyes darkened with even more of a feeling of dislike radiating from around her. "Actually, let's go further....to the day we were born. You see, beautiful sister, I never truly liked you. In fact, I hated seeing myself in the mirror because it reminded me of you so many days and nights. You, who dared to be different than the rest...Mother and father should have left you out to die like you rightfully deserved." She paused for a moment as Zlex's eyes lifted to stare into her sister's eyes. They were filled with a sort of astonishment that few could ever possess in their lifetimes. "I had to," Zlex protested, her voice mildly cracking, "I didn't want to end up like...." She trailed off. Both knew what she was going to say and it made Zlax laugh. Silence once more prevailed as Zlax shook her head. "Anyway, the point is....I hated you since birth. You made it worse by trying to leave me for dead all of those years ago." Zlax continued as her eyes stared at Zlex, "You degraded me.....left me for dead....forced me into exile....do you know what it's like to be forced out of your self?" She questioned. "How do you think I've felt all of these years?" Zlex asked in return without the satisfication to Zlax. She slowly pulled her blade out in its magnificant stature and slide it toward Zlex's neck. A sly smile filled her face and a little hum escaped her. Yet, she soon stopped and her expression was filled with astonishment as she turned around to eye her surroundings. "I think I hear someone..." Zlax murmured to no one in particular although her sister, too, was looking for the person who might be able to stop their meeting... |

The sound had come from the opposite direction, the one Mirakel wasn't. Like a wraith, he appeared silently behind Zlex and slightly to her right. His face was emotionless, his hands limp at his sides. If one was perceptive, they might notice the slight blurs in his image, but they were so small and minute they would be disregarded immediately. Which was usually their downfall. "I noticed that there was a powerful aura of anger, sorrow, and then peace. This can only come from one who accepting their death. I will not let this happen, nor entertain the idea." His eyes moved over to Zlex. "Even if it costs me my life." |

Zlax swiftly turned to face Mirakel, her white hair flowing like water over her right shoulder. Her face softened. At least she knew who the intruder of the meeting was. She even laughed as she shook her head. "Oh, it's you again. I see that he didn't feast on your flesh yet." She exclaimed, a smile broadening across her pale face. For the meantime, Zlex was rather surprised that Mirakel was here beside her. She looked a little confused by his presence and a little by his posture. She slowly shook her head as if she misunderstood something that he had said. "I...but...." And that was all she was able to say for the moment due to the astonishment that overtook her. "Oh come off of it," Zlax directed towared Mirakel, "No one's killing someone today. This is only a meeting. A private meeting at that and I don't recall inviting you. And unless you want to be attached to one of these trees with my sword through your gut, I suggest you leave us the hell alone."... |

He looked coldly at her, the lithe, curvy nature of her body having no effect on him. "As if you could manage such a thing. As for leaving, I have no recollection of you ever being my lord and master." He looked at her, black fury present in his white eyes. "You'll not harm Zlex this day." |

Zlax removed the blade from her sister's throat only to point it in Mirakel's face meanacingly. Her face contorted into a strange and twisted smile that was anything but normal to the natural tendency of any human face. "Oh?" She replied raising an eyebrow, "you don't think I could manage a stab at you? Is that a challenge?" She was always up for any type of challenge no matter who she was up against. "In any route, I'm not hurting Zlex today. This is only a meeting you stupid brute. Apparently, you didn't catch that the first thousand times I said it." She sneered, lowering her sword and acting as if spilling his blood would be worthless. "Just look at her!" Zlax continued, pointing at her sister, "Does she look capable of actually coming out to a meeting if my intentions were to kill her? No, she does not. In fact, she was probably rocking in her boots just by this meeting alone. Besides, there's too much fun from feeding off of fear. And unless you want to be tied into this little ordeal and die at the same time that she dies, I suggest you leave and take your charming words with you. No one would be able to save her anyway. She's corrupted by your earth and an abomination."... |

His eyes twitched into an annoyed position for a fraction of a second. "If anyone is an abomination, it is you and I. You, the insensitive, deceitful savage, and I, the genetically altered experiment. She is the most kind and caring thing here on earth, and I couldn't care less what your world was like because from the sounds of it, she was never meant for it in the first place." He stepped closer to Zlex, only an inch of space between them. "I have dedicated my life to her as her Shinobi. My life ends as does hers, and do not think any different." |

For a moment, Zlax actually appeared stunned and touched by his words. Her eyes widened almost in a compassionate way...almost as if it had changed her heart. Suddenly, she burst out laughing. In fact, it got to the point where she was doubled over with laughter. It wasn't a nice laughing sound that would be expected from the melodic voice that she possessed; it was the laughter that was edged with the swords of mockery and doused in the poison of jeering. "Oh my," Zlax exclaimed between her laughing fit, " Two idiots in the forest! What am I to do with both of them!!!" She shook her head as if that was the only way to end her laughing. Still, it persisted. "Me? An abomination? Sorry, but I think you are severely mistaken. She is the abomination for betraying tradition and values...you're an abomination by your stupidity alone! Oh, how touching to have someone finally there for you, Zlex. I never thought it capable for you to drag someone else into such a low level on the status scale...but you proved me wrong. You dragged this poor thing down and now he's nothing but dirt." She directed to Zlex with a smile still impressed against her frail lips. Zlex stood up from her seated position and remained by Mirakel's side. "He's not dirt." She stated as her eyes glared into those of her sister. "Excuse me? I didn't catch that. What did you say?" Zlax teased, cupping her ear with a hand, "If I heard correctly, you were standing up for this stupid arrogant bilge rat. Wow, how much more can we add to the pain in your death." Another laugh before she shoved Zlex in a semi-playful manner despite the harshness in it. "And die with her you will. Waste your life on her if you want, it means nothing to me. One less idiot roaming this world..." |

Mirakel took a fighting position, his mannerisms changing to one more aggressive than he was intending, though it betrayed little of his actuall lust for the inevitable battle. "There will be one less, though it will not be from lack of me, or Zlex. You will be the one to leave tonight, savage. I may be compassionate, but that doesn't constitue weakness. If you wish to see true weakness, either fight me... or look in the mirror." His moral was boosted for having Zlex stand up to her sister, and he knew, ugly as it was, she was likely to prevail with him next to her. |

Zlax's face darkened. Her face became shadowed although there were none around her to cause such a cover for her. She shook her head and pointed at him with her index finger as if some magic that was not known to anyone on earth would spit out at Mirakel. Yet, none such thing happened at all and she almost hesitated to speak again until the shadows lifted. "Watch it, boy." She warned with a voice calmer than one might have expected, "I'll turn you into mince meat. It's not nice to anger me on such a fine day for talking. I'm not intending on fighting on such a day as this. Aren't you aware of the taboo against it? What? Did poor and defenseless Zlex not tell you? We can't fight on this day. Tonight is a full moon and we'd parish." She hissed with as much steam as could be mustered without a fight. "And yes, if I wanted to truly see pure weakness I could look in the mirror....because then I'd be practically staring at Zlex. I'm not stupid you ignorant sheep of the flock. Go whore over whatever god you might adore or go back to the government that experimented on you. Perhaps they'd know what to do with such a disgrace. You might've made a good hashinarian despite your tendency to be a fool enough to stand up for others. She's betraying you more than you know....but let me guess; you fell for her innocent charm and her kind spirit. She's a Hashinarian, idiot. She'll end up killing you for the satisfaction of your pain..." |

Suddenly, his face became the epitome of rage and hatred, his aura, once mist, became a blazing inferno, though it gave off no heat. His hair began to wave though there was no wind. "Do not think for an instant that I trust any higher power the be either god or government with my life! I am my own person and I shall do with it as I wish. The whole point of life is to make of it what you will. If the people of your planet wish to be deceitful and savage to each other just for the sake of it, then I respect it and allow you to what you wish. But if you think that I protect Zlex through some semblance of love, rethink your sorely mistaken hypothysis. I do it for selfish reasons, for reasons that you would never understand. I do it for the sanctity of life, the freedom to make your own choices." He took a step forward. "You say that you would die on this night if you were to fight, and be it some flaw of your race or your own cowardice, I care not." His steps took him past Zlex, and further to Zlax, her face still full of anger. "You fear death and that makes you weak. If you were strong and unafraid you would fight me in the face of death, as I do this day. I did not fear death, for the way your sister speaks of you and of you yourself, it is certain that oblivion was the only route I take. But do not think that I do it for your sister. I do it for the innocent. For those who would rather die than fight against those who belive themselves to preside over life and death." He stopped a foot from Zlax and crossed his arms. "I do not fear you. Say what you wish, speak ill of me all you might, but it does not change the fact that you... will not... defeat me." |

Once again she burst out into laughter and actually had to hold her stomach from the soreness it caused in her. It was all fun and games and she was having a lot of fun. She wiped away invisible tears from her eyes as her laughter slowly died. It simmered into a smile and a shake of her head. "Oh, I see. You don't give a shit about Zlex. That's perfect. See sister, another person who will abandon you in the end. Wow, you sure are cruel, lab-experiment. I'll have to use that one day so that I can break another heart and steal another soul." She trailed off as another shake of her head took place. "You're so ignorant you stupid insipid bilge rat. I live a dead life and I die countless times. Has Zlex told you about that yet? I can't possibly die at your hands. Ask her, go ahead and ask her. She's been holding out on that just so that you'll fail. That's wonderful. She stabs you and you stab her back. And I thought you'd be completely useless. But anyway, ask her why I can't die...and then ask her why she allowed you to fight a losing battle. I guess she wants you to die. I could see her point, you're a complete loser and need to go to your grave. You even admitted to yourself that you've had a terrible life as a lab-experiment....so why don't you just kill yourself and save me the trouble?" Zlex's face reddened in surprise and a sound almost like a gasp escaped from her. The vortex....she hadn't thought about that. And now, on a day of forbidden combat, she hoped that nothing would provoke a fight to the end. "And...like I have said countless times, I won't be fighting anyone today. Catch me on another day and I'll be glad to spill your guts all over the trees. I'll even go as far as hanging you to the amusement of others. You'll be famous; the idiot who decided to anger Zlax. Don't worry though, you won't be alone; I've killed others the same way. You're sure to meet them. Some of them were actually quite decent." She nodded in self-satisfaction although a look, almost of pity, washed her face. Victims were victims but even then, some of them deserved a prettier death than the one she gave them.... |

Mirakel's face suddenly cracked into a smile, and his aura was sucked back into him like a large sponge. "You know what Zlax? I think you're right." He lowered his arms and began to walk around. "I listen to what you say, and the thought of living for myself begins to look... all the more appealing." His eyes took on a malignant light, and he began to chuckle darkly. His eyes, normally a bright white, began to lose its sheen and turn a dull gray. "Why have I been fighting for those too weak," and he really punched this last word, "to fight for themselves. If they want to live, then they should protect it themselves." He turned back and looked at Zlex, walking slowly forward. "Fight to survive, take what you can, give nothing back." Even as he looked at her, his eyes returned to their past brilliance and he gave her, and only her, the instant impression that all of what he said now what not true. "You think that because I am stronger than you that I will help you defeat your sister?" He laughed cruelly. He turned to look at Zlax, a smile playing along his lips. "You think that after a few years she might get the picture." |

At first, Zlax seemed a little confused and it was evident enough that she didn't trust him. Still, his words and his overall appeal had put her guard down. Of course she still didn't trust him...but she was starting to believe that maybe he was getting the point. A slight smile touched her lips as she kept her golden eyes on him. She resheathed her sword and crossed her arms over her chest with a type of satisfaction. "There you go, Lab-experiment. Maybe you're not so stupid afterall." Zlax replied, nodding her head in approval of his words. Still, she examined him, waiting for him to start laughing and admitting that he was only joking. Zlex had been quite surprised as she heard her friend switching sides. In fact, she almost became a little angered and hurt. However, Mirakel's glance to her told her the story and she simmered down, never losing her bewildered look to go along with his act. "Maybe you can learn from the best. Doing things for yourself was never a bad thing to begin with. Why care for others?" She paused for a few seconds as she raised an eyebrow, "But...it is too bad that you're not a Hashinarian. You could have been one of the elite....oh well, you could be the closest thing to it, right? So....since you've got a mind for yourself now....why don't you kill her. It'll be my honor to watch you." Although she was partly convinced, she still needed a little more time to assure her that Mirakel had indeed changed.... |

He raised an eyebrow and adopted a pose of light distance. "Why? I agree with you point of view, it is much easier to live by, but why kill when I don't have to? I could kill her as easily as eat a peice of fruit, but in truth I would much rather eat the fruit." He looked at her. "You, as her sister, have more of a reason to kill her. However, she has never gotten in my way, angered me without provocation, or anything like it. Why kill her?" He looked at her benignly. "I think you just want me to because tonight you can't do it for whatever reason." He winked at her. "Perhaps next time, gimme a call and I'll help. I've never had an overhwelming need to kill someone, but it might be fun to try..." A sudden shift in his weight brought his hand, fingers together and palm up, to emit a ribbon thin blade of energy that extended to lightly press against Zlex's throat. He pressed a little harder, a threat that was far from empty. "Oh yes... it would be fun to try..." He withdrew the energy slowly, the menacing gleam in his eye never leaving. He reached into his clothing and brought out a small vial. Filling it to the brim with energy, he capped it and tossed it to Zlax. "When the time comes, open it, and I'll be here in no time." He smiled at Zlax and winked at her. "You're not too bad looking either. So," He clapped his hands energetically, "are we done here?" |

Zlax narrowed her eyes a bit as she examined Mirakel. Her overall body language spoke for itself and proved that she finally did believe him. She nodded her head seeming almost a little impressed. "You're not as dumb as I thought, lab-experiment. I give you props for that. But no, if you actually tried to kill her like I suggested, I would've stopped you. Like I said, this meeting wasn't meant to kill someone. And that's the reason why no one else is allowed to kill her but me. Only I have business enough to kill her." She explained, tapping the hilt of her sword. Zlex was still a little shakened by the pressure that the energy had placed on her neck. She wasn't quite sure of what to think anymore as she watched her sister and Mirakel talk. So, she remained silent, only listening to decipher what was the truth and what was a lie. "You're not too bad looking either. So, are we done here?" She shook her head. "Well, I suppose you think I'm not that bad looking because I look exactly like Zlex. Surely you've told her the same before...But yes, you are done here." Zlax answered with a sly smile... |

He smiled and turned to walk away, passing Zlex, he whispered loud enough for Zlax to hear, "Good luck with that." Then, much lower in volume so she definitely couldn't hear, he whispere, "Stay safe, meet me soon, and look very shocked as I walk away." He stood, chuckled, and stepped into the trees. |

Although Zlex was very relieved to hear Mirakel's instructions (which confirmed her indecisiveness), she did not dare to show it as her expression remained somber and astonished especially to his departure. And as Mirakel walked away, Zlex turned her head to watch him leave as if she expected him to walk right back. Zlax shook her head and let out a small laugh to her sister. She tapped her sword once more habitually as she grabbed her sister and pulled her closer to her. "He's an idiot you know. He's rather getting to me, I must admit....but he's an idiot. Do you think he really believed me about the full moon thing?" Zlax asked in a hushed voice. "I...don't know." Zlex answered. Her violet eyes made contact with the cold eyes of her sister. "Well, it wasn't that far from the truth....oh well. I didn't feel like fighting anyway. So...back to our meeting..." |

Mirakel had walked away, but not as far as they thought. It sounded as if he'd gone off far, but he was only a few trees away, and his enhanced hearing could easily detect their whisperings and make them audible. He never took the chance he could be heard if he could help it. When he was far enough away, he ghosted through all other object so he would make no noise as he stood near a tree, eyes closed in concentration to maintain his molecular speed-up. |
