An opressive sky hung low above Okaru, it was a red-gray like fire behind a cloud. It was an enormous mass of ebbing and flowing color. There were no clouds, just this massive soupy looking mess. It would morph and change, forming shapes that would seem to take form just before receding back into the aether. Screaming tortured faces emerged in the sky, poking out from the sky to let out a torrential moan and then return to silence as the vat of sky engulphed them once again. There seemed to be no light and yet, it was still possible to see as if it were clear as day. The young teen had this feeling like a thousand lights were shining in his eyes; he winced, trying to cover his face with his arms, but it was not light that did this; it was simply the nature of the realm. The air was hot and sticky; it was humid in fact, that Okaru couldn't tell if he was sweating or simply gathering moisture from the hot on air on his relatively cool skin. The ground that he lay upon, where the portal had deposited him, was soft and warm to the touch, it felt much akin to skin. In fact, upon closer examination, it became clear that the entire ground itself was a living, breathing entity. Small puckered and seemingly irritated fleshy holes sucked in and expelled air, and the whole landscape seemed to pulse with a nausiating and sickly sort of life force. Every so often, seemingly out of nowhere a flap of this skin, or ground, or whatever one chose to call it, would open up and an eyeball would glance around, as if monitering for something. As Okaru lifted his hand up, a thick mucuosal substance clung to him. Strands of the flegmy substance dripped from his hand, and the sheen gave the ground a very vile look. Beyond a doubt, the whole landscape was one, or many, living; breathing; feeding organism. The thought sent shudders down Okaru's spine, and yet he was not unfamiliar with this place. It was like visiting something from a dream, or a strange sort of de ja vu. And while superficiall, the place was terrifying; in his core, it felt like home. It was like returning home after a long journey. And that, perhaps, was what scared Okaru the most. The red head tried to think back to just what had happened. They were so close; they had realized that if they could seal Territo and Malum's forms in this world, and render them useless, the two demons would be unable to create new bodies to hunt Okaru with. That's why they tried to seal Malum rather than attempt to kill him. But something had gone horribly wrong amidst the fighting and the sealing ritual. Okaru could only remember Som yelling something important. He couldn't hear it over the din of battle and the whirling vortex that sucked them in moments later, but the look on her face told him it was something important. Now, she was no where to be seen. Perhaps she was deposited in a different part of Infernal, or perhaps she had just not arrived yet. Or worst of all, perhaps she never made it, and was also sealed up like Malum, forever trapped in that space between worlds. |

(The hellish plains of Infernal were vast and sickening. With the akies looking somewhat like a fuming pyre and the ground wreaking of burnt, living flesh, it would be easy for the weak of stomach to flush out their inards and for the weak of heart to pass out and away. Luckily, there was nobody of that nature here. There was a form on the ground that did not match the characteristics of the surroundings, a form which was about two iluvial hills-worth of ugly terrain from Okaru's location. The figure was lying on the ground unconscious, wearing a grayish powersuit. The sword and the helmet that came with it was not on this person, but nearby, having been knocked off during the crash. Said person was a she, a catgirl with kind-of-short black hair. In other words, it was Som Lugoti. At present, she stirred.) Som: Ugh... (She felt as if her head had split open and let all of her brains ooze out. Yes, that was perhaps approaching the way she felt right about now. The first thing that her mind registered, beyond pain, was the smell. It was like walking into a boy's locker room. The smell of sweat was overwhelming. In opening her eyes, she found out why. The ground was flesh. Well, in this case, it felt more like ear than anything else, but the fact remained that this was flesh. Som began to get up, pushing the hair out of her eyes and trying to smooth it somewhat. She looked around and immediately felt unnerved by this place. It wasn't so unexpected. She had been informed of the home of the demons, Territo and Malum. However, she had not expected to come here herself. It wasn't part of the plan...) Som: God... The plan... Damn it all... (She still had a headache, especially after thinking about it. See, it was like this... Even from the start, she knew that the band of hunters that she had gathered together were no match for the two demons themselves. Som knew, first-hand, how terrible they really were, after all. That was why, on top of gathering the hunters, she had had a completely different plan in mind. She'd made a deal with the necromancer, the very demon whom Okaru had had dealings with in the past and had nearly gotten them killed. Karaka Hanu had a desire to know more about Som's mysterious nature. She could not by scryed, nor mind-read, so the only way to find things out about her was to pry. In return for help, she had agreed to facilitate his wish. That was how she learned things about the demons. With Karaka's aid, she formulated a plan to get captured along with her team, then read-end the demons with a surprise attack that included both Karaka's servants and Okaru himself. It had worked out alright, to begin with...) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (The battle raged on as the Territo and Malum split up to deal with their enemies. Territo tore specifically after the group with Damon Fortis - as Canti of the Black Flames - and Tara Lissman, who was Karaka's demon-ally. Both of them hurled terrible flames at Territo, keeping her occupied along with the others. However, her attention was somewhat divided from the big picture. She missed the part where Okaru was making to seal their little sub-realm away from Infernal and Earth alike while Karaka planned to suck everyone out of their with his own magic. Meanwhile, Som had dealt Malum a serious and unexpected blow. The demon thrived on negativity, which offset the usefulness of many attacks. However, the blinding ray-beam of light which Som had emanated from her powersuit at him was not derived from vengeful anger, but rather it was formed out of love. It was to stave it off from Okaru as he worked on the seal. Teamwork and a clever plan had finally paid off. Or at least, that was how it seemed...until Som noticed something was up. On the far end of the room where Territo was, a portal had formed. From it, she saw a bunch of meaty hands reach through and start snagging her team away. Tara personally tossed Damon through, having caught him and Canti utterly by surprise. Tara had personally waved goodbye to Som, a sinister look of glee on her face. Horror struck Som's face as she realized what was going on. She tried to warn Okaru...) Som: He's gonna leave us behind!! (...but a volley of explosions from Tara, sort of a parting gift to Territo, had blotted this out. She meant, of course, that Karaka was betraying them so that they could be stuck with these monsters for all eternity to suffer as they suffer. Then, as she saw the vortex forming, it was worse! They were being transported somewhere else! Som was lost in it before Okaru, and she didn't see anything that happened afterward.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (And so, she'd woken up here, now sitting in place and thinking over how terribly everything went. Her grand scheme had failed. She and Okaru and maybe even others were trapped in the world in which Territo and Malum belonged. It was all her fault... Beyond the whole "Save the world" thing, she honestly wanted to put an end to the horror that had otherwise infected Okaru's life. With the demons gone, the creature that was to be reborn through him would never manifest. To think it had come to this... Som put her head in her hands, her ears drooping somewhat. She was lost in a world she knew of only through second-hand info. Worse, everything would be out to kill her. This was terrible. However...there was hope. There had to be a way out if demons regularly visited the human world. Okaru had the power of the Demon King. She had a powersuit designed for survival under even Armageddon conditions. There had to be a way out of this that didn't involve dying. Som stood up now, her fist tightening with anger.) Som: I'm not through yet... I won't abandon him! I won't lose, even to a WORLD of demons! (Her fist flung out reflexively, and the powersuit shot out deadly permafrost icicles into something that looked like a big tongue. After being thoroughly disgusted, Som picked up her stuff and began to look around, taking the hill as a vantage point. She had to find him before some demons did. Aha! She was in luck! He wasn't very far away, after all! He was probably looking for her or anyone else that might've come through. Frankly, Som hoped that nobody else was in their predicament, because it was probably going to be the worst thing that they or anyone else has ever been through. Som, in particular, was willing to bear it up for Okaru's sake. She called out to him, wary, but not perceiving any immediate enemies, which was fortunate.) Som: Hey! Okaru! Are you alright? |

A little ways off to the side, stood Lucius, still in white preist robes although one of the outter layers had been torn off in the previous fighting him, leaving him with a far more battle accessible set of robes. However, there was something odd about his stance, and it wasn't the large cross held in a purposefully nonchalant manner, A seconds analysis however, would reveal that Lucius was standing a few centimeters off the living ground on what appeared to be thin white smoke. "Lovely scenery you've found for us" he quipped annoyed. |
