The day had been tiring. He'd left Pacific Standard at midnight; now he was in Tokyo at what? Ten at night? He had jumped back two hours, but in actuality it was five foreward. His only real want at this time was to change and hit the bed. He cursed himself for inability to sleep. He didn't have the ability to sleep on a plane, and had seasickness on ferries.

He dragged his bags upward in the Seiryuu House stairs. He continued despite his tired condition, quietly as well. Even though he bet nobody was asleep at ten, he still tried to keep his quietest with a pair of duffel bags. The computer which he had slaved to put together though, was being shipped by mail; it was a little too big to be transported comfortably.

Finally, he arrived at the dorm room. Looking in, he saw the bunk bed, a couch, and a couple of drawers under a counter which he assumed to be a kitchen. Fortunatly, they had provided one heating element; plug in, though.

He set his stuff down, and then thought, This room was meant for two. I wonder, who's the other guy? Is he here?

Dorrian finally released the burden off of his shoulders, and resigned to the fact that he would probably be woken up in the night.

Zlax had no business roaming the halls or pushing in doors other than to her own amusement. It was no fun knocking in the doors of empty rooms with no one to glare at her with astonishment and irritationin their eyes. All in all, it had been one of those days where Zlax would have rathered staying in bed. Unfortunately for her, there was too much stuff to do for her to just rest.

Some guy was getting into his room in the distance. Another Seiryuu...she hadn't bothered taken the time with getting to know other Seiryuu members. It was rather pointless to her. But, she was bored out of her mind and she still had hours of time to waste. So, ever so caustiously making her way to his dorm, she tapped her sword habitually and glanced in with her tainted golden eyes.

"Yeah...home sweet home. Gotta love the simplicity." She commented more to herself than to Dorrian. However, her eyes did glance over to him almost asking permission to enter. However, she did not wait for such permission as she wandered inside. To someone who had just met her, she would have appeared to be a rather hyper person who let curiousity rule her life. Unfortunately for others, she was far from such behavior and only acted as such on a blue moon. She was more of an emotional, physical, and psychological killer on the prowl at all hours of the day. The night was left up to her nightmares and frequent talks to the moon.

"Zlax." She quickly introduced, not bothering with a handshake or even a glance toward him. Her white long hair tagged after her with every movement that she made. She wore a simple black gown which told others that she had tried to go to sleep but did not succeed.

"And you?" She questioned to provoke an answer from him...

To Dorrian, the somewhat well-timed intruder was being merly antisocial. So, he thought to himself, try and start a conversation. What's the worst that could happen? After all, even the most insane individuals could still be reasoned with to a degree; this golden-eyed girl seemed to shed the essence of indifference at best, I-just-ate-a-busload-of-children at worst.

He turned to Zlax and pronounced with a voice of gravel thanks to his lack of water and said, "My name is Dorrian. A pleasure," and thusly extended a hand. "Is this your dorm room as well?" he continued, knowing his somewhat sleep-deprived bloodshot eyes wouldn't really be a consequence for an answer.

Zlax paused and actually faced him; studying him for the first time. He didn't look familiar to her (not that she had expected he would) yet, she couldn't care less. To her, he was just another harmless fly that inhabited earth.

"No, this isn't my dorm." She replied as she glared at his extended hand, "I don't shake hands with others. It makes me feel like I'm signing a contract. We wouldn't want to do that, now do we?" Zlax pushed his hand away gently.

"I'm all alone in my dorm. I hate it but..." Here, she shrugged as if such conditions couldn't be helped or changed. "So, it seems that you are new here. Where'd you come from?" She questioned as she sat on the edge of his bed, "Oh, and excuse my behavior, I'm not always like this. There isn't quite an explanation for such times." Few would've gotten that much out of her from the first meeting. But then again, she wasn't exactly herself on this particular night...

Dorrian wasn't thinking completly straight due to his lack of sleep. Fotrtunatly, he thought he could give himself maybe another half-hour before he keeled over and drooled. On hearing her questions, he had to decide what pontificate about next hurriedly. He started off with an apology.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had such elaborate feelings on the subject of shaking hands. To me, at least, its the unisex way to greet someone, so naturally I do it all the time. Apologies." He paused for a moment, gathering up what to say next, and continued, "Don't worry about your behavior. Even though I dress like it," he looked down at his suit which he had decided to wear for the trip an then back, "I'm not necessarily one of those people that is so up-tight they have to order their underwear a few sizes under."

Dorrian remembered what he was talking about in the first place, and seemed to suddenly cut to it tangently. "Oh, yes. I'm sorry, I come from some small town on the West Coast. Of the states." He then added in, as if it was a footnote, "Besides, I'm not acting the same as usual either. I can barely sleep, and the airplane ride was long. I'm a little tired."

Tangently, he went back on topic. "So, what about you? Where do you come from? Or do you want to talk about it?" He paused, thought, and then added in, "I can understand if you don't want to." He vaugly recalled his youth and that he certainly didn't want to say just how badly his state of mind was; even when alone, he continually had heard his 'classmates' words through his head.

((OOC: Sorry for the very short and non-detailed posts. I'm suffering from writer's block >_<;; ))

"So, what about you? Where do you come from? Or do you want to talk about it? I can understand if you don't want to..."

Zlax smirked and slightly shook her head. The golden area around her eyes seemed to twitch most inhumanely. What didn't these type of people understand? What was so harsh about talking about one's place of origin anyway?

"I'm from a planet called Hashinaru. Most americans have never heard of it before so I don't care if it doesn't sound familiar to you. I haven't been here on earth that long to know exactly where you're talking about either." She paused for a moment or so, seeming a little confused.

"Why wouldn't I want to talk about where I've come from? Is there something about your origin that you try to hide?"...

Dorrian's pulse increased slightly at how easily he'd been read. Jesus, I'm going to have to be slightly more carful, came a mental note. But, this situation didn't necessarily compromise his concealment of a rather stupid thing he didn't want to talk about. She'd only scoff in disdain.

So he came up with an ingenuitive solution. He merely shrugged and said, "One can't be too sensitive anymore. Political correctness and all that. Apologies. I'm a bloody American, after all." He paused, and decided to sit on the floor. The conversation itself was starting to make him awake again, and he decided to be cordial and have a good chat with this individual then serving his own ends and trying to hurry along the conversation.

He continued, deciding to feint away from what he didn't really want to say, "If you really, really want to know.... I'm a bastard child." She seemed trustable enough. "My mother was only... fifteen when she was pregnant with me...." His gaze looked to the floor, half-acting, half-in-truth. In a sense, he was a little ashamed of it anyways.

Well, what he said there was something he really didn't want to make public anyways, but he'd rather say that then his little alternative.

((OOC; Is okay. I'm new at this anyways, so I care little about discription.))

For a moment or so, she sat there silent and unmoved by his words. In fact,
it would have seemed that she had not paid any attention to a word he said. Her golden eyes dimmed a bit and a sly smile perched upon her lips as she examined him.

"What's a bastard?" She asked with an authentic air of curiousity. Human beings never ceased to amaze her with their vast vocabulary (even though most words were just recreations of other words). She raised an eyebrow before tilting her head to the side and letting her long white hair trail down her shoulder.

"And hey, at least your mother cared about you. At least most mother's on earth do. You should have seen my mother." And with this, she shook her head in dismay with the rememberance of that incorrigible woman.

"Not to get off of your topic, of course. But I thought it was a little tidbit that might make you feel a little better about that situation. Being a bastard can't be as bad as being a PoW." She leaned back and supported herself with her elbows, making herself quite comfortable in Dorrian's dorm....

He swallowed, but then relaxed. The situation was sorta humerous. He'd displayed one of his most embarassing truths, and she didn't know the key word behind. It made it extreamly easier for him to tell her the explination. "A bastard is, well... a person who doesn't know his father. Not that he was killed, but something different. My mother never really told me the story behind it all, but she doesn't seem like the person tht would hire their body out. So, my natural assumption was that she was...." So, it didn't really help. Oh snap. He didn't want to say the inevitable truth, but he couldn't just leave her hanging. He said it almost as a whisper, "Raped."

He just sat there in silence for a few moments. He removed his glasses and put them in their case. The world close to him became fuzzy; he was farsighted.

Dorrian continued, slightly less enthused, "I do suppose you are right. At least she did love me. I'm sorry, I was always raised with that truth, but I suppose I was blessed with a good mother."

And hell, if she was that poorly treated, his own mental torure would probably be nothing compared to her own physical and psychological endured pain. Her paternal units must've been very... horrid. Or at least, that's what he assumed.

Zlax let him talk on for a moment before her golden eyes dimmed and clouded over with an inevitable feel of the past. The smile on her lips had quickly vanished into whatever dimension of this world it had graced her from. She knew what he spoke of without him having to whisper the word as if it were some taboo. Yes, she had known that the word 'rape' would escape his mouth and she remained quiet for as long as he did. And even as he talked about his mother and about how much she loved him, Zlax was still stuck on that one horrible word that had haunted her since the genocide of her people. Rape. It was a nasty little word for anyone to hear yet it was even worse for those who had to endure life with such memories and scars. Now, with that gloomy air about her and the unfocused distant stare in her eyes, Zlax began to talk. Yet, she talked in a language that none on earth (unless they were her race) would understand. She told of a little girl in a prison camp with a barcode and a curse upon her head. The words, although languistically that same as Dorrian, sounded sad and filled with agony. Even the most narrow-minded person would be able to tell that her words were nothing but a somber remembrance of a event that was unknown to any other planet.

She smirked as she finished talking and her eyes refocused on Dorrian. There was no emotion that dominated her features and she seemed to be a little tense and uncomfortable now. The nightmares that could only haunt her in her dreams swam in her head with an antagonizing jolt.

"I've been raped before." She muttered with the apathetic air of saturnine still upon her, "Steelwolf was taken from me afterwards. I don't think he'll ever know that his mother loved him."...

Dorrian listened to every word she said; while undicernable in contex of his English or Japanese, their hidden meaning of anguish, pain, and suffering was truly jolted into Dorrian. The language posessed a beauty, and Dorrian could almost understand the sentence structure, but he conceded that wasn't the point. What was done to her, or what did she do, to have those words that had been presssured with dull iron until they seemed to have almost a note of resignation? For some odd reason, he felt the heaviness, the sadness, the general ache that the words implied. Dorrian felt extreamly... poor. Like he was feeling the same painful ache she was, even if she had an uncomparable past.

The last few words she said did give Dorrian some clue into it all. And then, he decided that the need to study her expression, and whipped his glasses back on.

Seeing as how her true emotions were hidden under a face of ultimate practice when it came to hiding emotion, he could only assume that she was uncomfortable. He began, once again, to apologize. "I'm sorry for having you to recount those memories. I'm extreamly sorry. I can understand your feelings, even if I don't understand your history." He paused, then looked at her, wondering what she would say next. Before she could, he added, "That is why I asked that question earlier. Forgive me for bringing it up."

Dorrian was really sorry. He never meant that she revisit those events. He never wanted anybody to recount a history of pain and agony. That is why he asked in the first place. He never wanted to make anybody, directly or indirectly, feel like she did. He was so sorry, prehaps he had already done it, but for the first time in a long time, his psychological blocks to prevent him from becoming the caring individual that Society rejected eroded away.

Zlax's hands slowly overlapped over her mouth and parts of her cheek as her face flushed with a redness that could not be mistaken for anything but anger. She wasn't angry at Dorrian and she wasn't angry because he had asked her anything. The memory enough was what angered her so much.

"It's not your fault. Stop being such a wuss. You care too much about others and how they feel. You can't get anywhere like that..." She trailed off, almost envying Dorrian now. She had never been capable of caring for people and so she hissed at others who could. They were all capable of doing something she couldn't and she felt weak because of it. She didn't want to be so different yet she didn't want to be the same. Hot tears fell from her eyes although she didn't immediately realize it. But when she did finally feel the tears trickle down her chin, she wiped them away quickly and almost with a sense of vulnerability.

"And don't you feel bad about me crying. It means nothing and it doesn't matter to anybody..." Once again she trailed off for her tears had come to a point of complete embarrassment for her. She stood up and walked away from him so that it was harder for him to see her face. It wasn't like her to lose herself like this and she regretted her fragile appearance and the sensitivity that this night had bestowed upon her....

Dorrian saw the whirlwind of emotions that covered Zlax. First, the anger and how harsh it had covered her face. Her eyes had become fire towards him. Seeing as how she carried a weapon, and technically in public it was a Don't fuck with me statement, he could only naturally assume that her hatred was directed at him. Then, his hormonally-raised pulse decreased. She was crying.

How could this be? He had done everything, but in spite, it was all for nothing. She finally gave him a last parting shot and walked away, trying to hid her face from his veiw. He was... it was hard to place.... he felt sorrier then anything, and got up, and was about to put a comforting hand on her shoulder, and if she could've seen his expression, it would was of utmost compassion and outgoing. One that wanted to give some comfort to another person.

Then, the only sound he heard besides Zlax's altered breathing from emotion was the rustle of clothing as his arm fell towards his side, where it should rightfully and properly be. He, in a last moment, thought, I will only accelerate her mental instability. Get her to think about something else. Say something that has some relevancy to her situation and its resolve.

And for the next three seconds, Dorrian deliberated, and finally narrowed down to what he would say. He was going to 'pull it out of his ass', almost literally. It was Historical Fiction, and she might find something from it. His expression changed, from one of compassion and outgoing to a more indifferent one. "Will you allow me to tell you a short story?" He waited for a moment, then inquired,"Have you heard of the Atomic bomb?"

Zlax was silent for a moment or so more before she actually began laughing a little. She turned to face him. She hadn't looked like she had been crying (although she had) for her eyes weren't red and her face wasn't disheveled by her show of emotions. She raised an eyebrow and studied him for a second.

"A short story? About the atomic bomb?" She repeated, almost mockingly. Yet her tone (and her melodic voice) did not sound at all hostile towards him. It wasn't his fault that he was so simple-minded and dynamic.

"I've heard of it. I don't know much about it though. But be my guest and tell me the story." She replied without much of an enthusiastic vibe. It was the least she could allow him to do. Even if she had felt embarrassed at her stupid sensitivity, she wasn't going to run from it now. No, that would make her seem even weaker than before and she wasn't going to allow that to happen again. She had ran her fingers through her pearly white hair without much thought and just as habitually as her tapping habit.

"And sorry for my sudden fall of stature. It won't happen again." She assured him. Some part of her was glad that he had not moved to comfort her. She was a 'warrior' as far as the humans would have seen her, and she didn't need someone else to comfort her. The more someone tried to do it, the more she remembered what it was like to spend one day like a human would. Carefree, happy, and loved....

Seeing her ultimate change hence again, Dorrian remarked in his head Well, talk about an objective accomplished before it was even though to be complete In reality he was now in formal mode, and simply began talking. "I apologize. Since you told me you are new to this planet, I at least wanted to know if you knew about it, so I wouldn't bore you with backstory."

He turned away, acting as though his gaze was moving toward that of something distant and far off; his voice became that of a person reading Old English text. "The atomic bomb, as you well know, has the ability to render an entire city to be nothing more then a smoldering creator, and take away thousands of lives in a single instant." To accentuate his pontification, he snapped his fingers. "Faster then that. I won't bore you with the... physics and science behind it all," his voice bore no hint of sarcasm, but more of one getting to a point. Here, the matter was that the he just tell Zlax the point of the story. He continued, "But, there was a man, named Albert Einstien, that worked on the theory that it made it work so well." He paused, looked at her, then added, "Sorry if you've heard of him as well. I really can't tell. Any other person, though.... They wouldn't know this story. It is known by few."

Dorrian looked away, back to his imaginary book in the distance he seemed to read off of, and continued, "When the atomic bomb was dropped the second time on Nagasaki, it just happened that out on the fringes of the city there was a young, pregnant wife awaiting her husband's return from Edo. He was there to give his father an apology for eloping before he died. He then saw the explosion and the massive flash, kilometers away. The bus, for some reason, stopped running. He got out, and ran the next kilometer to the bus stop that he was supposed to go to, and there," he paused, inhaled because of a bad habit to run out of air while reading, and continued, "And saw his wife in her final moments. She did not die from radiation poisioning, but instead something far more vile. In her last moments, she saw him, and reached out to him, calling his name. The last thing she felt...."

Even now, Dorrian was engrossed in his work of fiction, retelling it like a tribesman whose prime duty in life was to pass down stories, and his expression now seemed to change with the passing emotions of the story. "Was his hand grasp hers, and the last thing she heard was him calling out her name. The man, called Saiko, was filled with grief. But it turned into," his voice changed from sorrowful to an anger of some sort, "malevolece. In a few seconds, his wife, his child, and his future that he dreamed of were taken from him. He swore a minute after his wife's death, that the geniuses that let the abomination fall and lead to the killing of his wife, would all perish." Dorrian inhaled, and his voice changed yet again, to that of a more indifferent and seeming to take give mere facts, from that of a broaded perspective. "Saiko then let nothing stand in his way for his quest for revenge. He stole a gun and a junk. He almost starved to death sailing across the sea to America. Then, there was a whisper amidst the dull roar of the Japanese released from their internment camps. It said, 'where can I find Albert Einstien.'

"Saiko learned that Einstien would be giving a presentation to a group about some new theory of his." Dorrian's voice now seemed to have a growing tension, as he continued, "I'm sure you can guess what he did. He broke in through the back entrance, and then shoved Einstein to the ground and proclaimed in Japanese the abominatyion that he was. He leveled the gun to his head, about to take in the glory of his brains being splattered to the floor." Dorrian's voice climaxed. "And then, smiling, about to bask in the bloody glory that he so zealously wished for....." Dorrian's voice became soft. "He stopped."

"his wife had come to him in a vision. She said to him several things, and since it is his recount, there are a few things he left out. The primary thing she told him was that," Dorrian inhaled slightly, "taking this satisfying revenge would make him just as evil as the genius that masterminded the deaths of millions. What about his family? What about his cares in real life? He didn't know the power that the bomb held."

Then, Dorrians voice changed to be more relaxed as he finished his story, "He got up and ran away, fully ashamed at it all. Nobody saw him ever again, except for the small family he raised years afterward. He was a father when he was supposed to be a Grandfather. Someone found something in his broken and shattered bulk, and he found that he could be an actual caring entity again."

Then, he turned to her, and said, "Don't worry about your 'show of stature'. God knows we all break sometime or another. And don't worry, its not like I'm going to share something that private publicly. I'm silent." Secretly inside, he was ashamed. He had just told a lie to try and give someone hope. He wouldn't soon forgive himself for that.

((ooc: It's quite ok. I'm not going to baste you for screwing with history. Besides, it's a rather interesting story ^_^ )

Zlax smiled wryly as she studied him. The story in itself was rather entertaining. In fact, she didn't know which was better, his story or the emotions that he associated himself with during the story. Either way, it didn't seem to have helped her any bit. Still, she didn't need such things to provide herself with some comfort. '

"Nice story." She repilied as she nodded her head in approvement with herself, "I'm not sure why that pertained to me in any sense or way but it was rather amusing any how."

"Well I wasn't exactly worried about that. You could tell whoever you want...I don't care. It's not like their opinions matter anyway; those ignorant incompotent humans..." She muttered as she shook her head.

"Do you have anything I can drink? I've become a little thirsty, if you don't mind." She asked as she glanced around...

Dorrian was glad her overall mood had improved. Now, she obviously didn't see what he had shown her. Or what he had shown her, she didn't want to see. She asked for a drink; he gladly replyed, "Yes, of course. Excuse me a moment." He took a moment to find a glass, and merely said, "I apologize for my stumbling around the cupboards. I just got here, as you well know." As he filled it with water, he almost felt a pang of regret. He had played with history a little for someone to see what their own actions could become. Failed. Now, Dorrian would practically have to tell her up front. He strode back to her, and handed her the glass.

Dorrian's gaze locked upon her. "The story, and how it pertains to you, is that you are practically Saiko. Saiko's wife dying is the wrongs done to you. Saiko's drive is what you are now. Saiko's shame is...." He looked away, not wanting to see her expression change, but realized that he must see it, so he turned back, and continued, "...Is what you will feel when you befoul the memories of your tormentors." He then snapped in before she could get in anything, "Before you even speak, I somehow, know that you have not taken your revenge yet. What you think is revenge. Because of how much anguish you told your story in. If you want to feel like you once did, when," he inhaled, and said softly, "please heed me. I can help you recover from the hate you feel."

Well, he thought without letting any of it show on his face, her move. But even with her next comment, I will be able to at least pull out my largest guns of reason. It would be more humerous if he wasn't in such a serious mood. Guns of reason. Psh! This Blossem of War doesn't want to be seen as weak. Her revealing these things to me have. And until she conquers them she will have one weakness.

His next thought was, before she commented, was that, I'm certainly fucked up, aren't I. Now, he would focus his attention on her next comment.

Zlax stared at him long and hard as she held the glass of water in her hand. A few seconds later, she sipped some of the water and shook her head. In fact, if it weren't for the glass in her hands and the water that filled it, she might have laughed until she choked.

"So...." She murmured as she studied Dorrian with a raised eyebrow, "I'm Saiko...So I practically lose everything, go to America to track down the one who's done this, and I get two seconds away from blowing his brains out before I realize that it wouldn't help?" She trailed off as an expression of incredulity took hold.

"Two seconds away from blowing his brains out before I realize that it wouldn't help..." She repeated, "and then I get embarrassed and ashamed and I'm never seen again. Oh yes, I see the resemblence. You're basically saying that I've lost everything, I traveled to earth to kill my enemy, and I get two seconds away from blowing their brains out before I decide that it wouldn't be too nice....geez....if it were really me, I would've blown the shit out of him. Forget what's right or wrong. If it feels right then there's nothing wrong with it." She proclaimed. Besides, she wasn't after the person who had raped her. No, she was after a far more innocent and fragile creature. A creature so pure and so beautiful that even she had procrastinated on her pursuit.

"But....Saiko, if he really is me, has gone after the wrong bastard. Yes, Einstein took his wife and child....but still, that's not what has caused him so much pain. You see, Saiko's last straw was his family...but his revenge was for something far more selfish than for their sakes. Why? Because Saiko's a freaking ass, that's why. He's after one thing....he's after his sibling." She explained before taking another sip of the water.

"And you can't help me, Dorrian. You just can't. I'm hopeless and have always been that way. If you knew the person I was after you wouldn't truly be able to help me achieve my goal....because once you saw her....once you lay eyes on her, you'll feel so much pity for her because you know she'll die. And you'll automatically try to save her. It's happened too many times and I don't want you to betray me too...."

Dorrian quaintly found this humorus. It will have to wait, he thought to himself. "I apologize. Apparently I never told you the difference between you and Saiko. Saiko realized how his actions would affect him before he did his act; most, however, only realize what they have done until it is too late and their deed has been commited. Only then do they realize what a sinful thing they have done in the name of their loved ones. Only then do they see the grander picture, the connection that invoked them to do this act. If I may say again, the difference between you and Saiko is that Saiko realized the wrong he had commited, wheras you will not until after lives are lost."

Dorrian clightly slumped. He was becoming tired from this person that was apparently going to bisect someone without flinching. The triedness from it all, physically and mentally, was overwhelming.

He decided to ask, trying to find something that might help her, he asked, "Why exactly are you out for revenge?"

A slight smile came upon Zlax's face. Not many would dare ask her of her revenge or anything that even remotely pertained to it. Perhaps it was the sadistic views that she had about her sister that made everyone uncomfortable.

"There was a genocide on our planet a few years ago..." She began. Although much of the history would have to be known in order to fully grasp her concept, she was only going to lightly skim it and get straight to the point. Either way, the outcome would be the same.

"Me and my siblings were prisoners at a young age. However, shortly after being caught and locked up in our cells, my sister escaped with a few other prisoners. She didn't bother saving me so I had to try to escape myself. That's the reason why I was raped and cursed. Forever from that point, I was made a fool out of. The curse that would keep me alive and make me some type of weak cheater had badgered me for years and there is no way to rid myself of it. I suffer tormentable pain while she leads a happy, carefree life on the other side where the grass is greener. She left me to die and she got away with it..." She paused for a moment as she smirked. There was so many more things that circled that one event. Still, this was the most dominant reason.

"But...It had started earlier than that, really. Eversince she was born, I envied her because she got away with breaking traditions and laws. She always got away with being such a kind-hearted idiot...but me? I had to grow up and become this cold and wretched monster that no one can love or get near....I had to grow up to become the one thing that everyone stops themselves from becoming..." She ended it there without any more of a notion to continue or to explain anything else. If he wanted to know more, she figured he'd ask...

((OOC; Sorry, I don't know the multiple form of paradox))

Dorrian rubbed his eyes. He was thinking now. Earlier, everything he had done was based off of assuption. Remembering a line from Physical/Earth Science, assuptions make u an ass, he began to think. He had touched on information that he should've known before he had begun spouting. Time for him to start doing some psychology work. It was all simple logic, much like debate. And whatever paradoxi came up, he would nail her in the cross-examination towards his main point: She needed help. And even then, he was beginning to construct his next argument, after he was done with crossex. But, unlike in some tournament, there were no rules on speaking. It was real life, after all. Rules are whatever the person wanted them to be.

Dorrian rubbed his eyes, and for a few seconds, said nothing. Seemingly, still in a thoughtful sort of state, he began his speal. "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask a few questions. Please, sit down wherever you can make yourself comfortable."

He already had finished formulating his questions. His cerebrum's need for information was great, so he didn't really make any sort of gaze, merely made eye contact with Zlax. She would probably see that he was focused on what she had to say. After that, he would ask her a few more, from the information he had garnered from the previous. Fun, fun, fun. [/sarcasm], he thought to himself.

"I'm sorry, but I have a few querstions for you. First, please, tell me about your family's culture. Just gimmie a skim of it." Ah, fun. He was using a bit of slang. He tried not to do it again. "Second, how do you feel about the rest of your family? Besides your sister. You already gave me a good impression of her. Third," he began, but paused, and his expression was one of study, "how did your family treat your sister?"

If it weren't for Dorrian's good intentions (whatever they would lead up to) she might've thrown his whole thing down the drain and sauntered out of his dorm with her sword nestled in her hands. He sounded much like a cop now and she found it quite hilarious. Is he....Is he trying to help me?....How pathetically useless. He just doesn't get it, she thought to herself as she sat on the bed once again. She had already told him that she didn't want his help. Besides, 'help' in the form that she truly needed it in, was scarcely found by any living soul.

Zlax rolled her eyes, her annoyance quite easily seen now, "So now you're acting like some kind of psychiatrist or therapist....that's not so swell. But...for now, I'll go along with this crap." She decided as she took in a deep breath. She didn't like talking about her history much and he was pushing it already with his questions.

"My family's culture, eh? Well...that's not easy to explain. My family, on our planet, was much equivalent to the definition of a nobilty. We weren't the royals but we were pretty far up the ladder. That's important to know...the rules for us weren't the same as the 'commoners'." She paused for a moment or so before continuing.

"From a young age, we get our soul weapons. We then train for the rest of our lives to prove ourselves better than any other race. We make it common knowledge that we invaded nearby planets and such. In fact, we have celebrations each year to the victory we earned. Weakness is a defect and it must be destroyed....that's why my sister should've died long ago. But anyway, that's getting quite off of the question, now isn't it?" She laughed a little as she shook her head.

"We're trained to fight for ourselves and not for others; to prove we can stand alone...We learn to hurt before we're hurt and so on and so forth...it's not a hard cultural thing to understand. Compare us to the spartans of this world's history, if you will (although we are quite different from them in many ways)."

"And my family? Well, common law, we aren't allowed to love anyone, not even our parents...therefore I don't think to much of them. They're stupid bilge rats to me...they deserve the death that was probably bestowed upon them. Besides...they broke the law too. They were just another weak couple who needed to be put out before they caused the downfall of our civilization." She sat back, quite amused at herself. He was already learning too much about her and from this night forward, she was going to keep a close eye on him.

But when she remembered the third question Dorrian asked, her expression of lightness changed and became a little bewildered. Obviously enough, this was one of the things she tried to force herself to forget. The treatments were unequal....unequal and severely cruel.

"Well...." She hesitated for a moment or two, letting her eyes fall to the floor so that her golden tainted eyes could not stare into anything worthwhile, "I...I wouldn't quite know." She mused for a while before she spoke again.

"They kept her locked up from the world's eyes....so that she wouldn't be exiled and executed. And although they tried to make her as she should have been...they softened....and they loved her..." She didn't feel comfortable talking about her anymore. The simple fact that she hadn't been loved...that she couldn't laugh the way simple-minded humans would with their parents....made her feel all the angrier.

"But such questions mean nothing and I don't know why they would matter so much.." Zlax admitted as she let her eyes wandered back up to those of Dorrian. He was playing to close to the line and soon she would have to stop him. Besides, she didn't want to be seen as a weak individual again...

Dorrian, if he was a more uncaring individual, would've smiled at his success. He didn't intend anything to happen, for her to still be the walled individual she was put out to be, and use reason, but now he couldn't. He had intended for this to be a formal argument, and she now had gone and ruined it. Dorrian almost couldn't belive himself. He couldn't make her see, so instead he had intended to weild a hammer of reason. Now, he would have to be more... surgical. And it would be more time-cunsuming. Idiot. he thought. You thought you could resolve it in one night. Cockbite. You're smarter then this.

So, he remained silent for a moment. Then, he began to speak in a very different tone then he originally had intended. "I can tell you're tiring of this. So I'll get to the end of it. Before you leave, I will ask you two questions that I don't want the answers to." His face was hard to place. Strained. "First, do you want to be in the same position your sister was in? And second, what makes you think that you won't love your rightful progeny. You have before. You inferred it."

He sighed, stood up, and said, "Good night, miss. Please come again. I'm sure I will pontificate about something else rather then my apparent and rather unhidden... desire," which he said with an apparent distaste, "to help you. Maybe you could talk to me about how you observe us. Something... interesting, rather then my infernal one-track thought."

His face became indifferent, and upon learning that she was a sort of nobility, he offered a rigid hand for her to help herself up from where she was sitting. Even though he assumed she wouldn't take it. But, it was formality.

There was not much emotion evident in Zlax's face as she studied him and his words carefully within herself. She remained silent and also remained seated for longer than would have been expected of her.

Even now, she hadn't made any notion of adding any sarcastic remarks or even a smirk. In fact, he baffled her at this very moment. He almost baffled her as much as Xanders did. It was extremely confusing and quite unexpected (if the two previous questions weren't bad enough by themselves).

"How I observe you?" She repeated almost to herself. And although questions formed within her mind, she said nothing more about that matter or any other matter. She didn't think it was necessary. It would be a waste of breath. And even if she were to tell him that she didn't think of him as one who would fall into the simple-minded field, she didn't think the outcome would make a difference. So, as he extended his hand to help her up, she glanced at it. Yet, oddly enough, she took his hand and got up.

She had turned to face him as if she were about to tell him something that she meant to tell him all afternoon. However, she didn't say a word and she found herself turning towards the door and exiting his dorm. Yes, she had figured that she should keep an eye on him....just for the fun of it...

She was practically silent for a few seconds, but Dorrian, being obstinant as he had all evening, had kept his hand for this seemingy-eternal wait for her to do something. To his surprise, she took it, got up, and seemed to want to say something to him. But, she didn't. Before he knew it, she had exited his dorm. With this, he simply collapsed on his bed, finally the wretched tiredness he managed to hold off for the time Zlax was there had caught up to him. screw the suit. I'll take care of it in the morning. Yeah, that includes ironing it. He put his glasses in thier case and let himself succumb to his very light sleep. Hell, if anything even moved in this dorm, it would wake him up. Unless it was the REM cycle, as he found out at an earlier age.

Dame desu nee, came a voice. Idiot. All you can really do is focus at one point at a time. And for WHAT? It was his voice, though the words weren't his. Or were they? Was it the cortorsion he had made within himself to keep from being the over-compassionate person he was? Probably. It was what made him the runt of the school. Until he had hardened himself to it all, and finally learned what he didn't want to. To use his body advantagiously. But, mentally, he was still just as effed up as he was as a child.

The voice interrupted his nostalgia. Just so you can help some girl with problems that are out of your hands. Fool. You wanted to help her. But by doing so, with the focus that you have, you were willing to crush whatever walls kept her from becoming emotional.

Dorrian knew the voice was right. He would have to rethink his stratagy. If I see her again, he thought to himself. His intentions were good, but what was the cost? Yes, yes, rethink it, come at a different zenith then before. And definatly subtler. He decided to think about it later.

Everything else, from that night, he forgot. Conveniant. ((OOC;spelled wrong. And sorry about blandness. But the power sooner or later is going to go out. Storm, you see.))

"Agh!, This is starting to piss me off" Hiro said angrily, hiro couldn't find which dorm was his and was hopelessly lost in the building. Hiro was about to break down a wall when he saw one more room at the end of the hallway. He walked to it and sure enough it was the one he was assigned to, he opened the door and saw two beds one was occupied by his roommate he guessed and the other was his. He took off his coat, gloves, boots, and put his sword on the ground by his bed. He climbed in bed exhausted and went to sleep waiting til the next morning when he could introduce himself to his roommate.

Dorrian did have one thing go down in his subconciousness that night; somebody came in, completly ignored his existance, and fallen in on another bed. He woke up an took a quick glance and simply went back to sleep.

It became morning. And Dorrian inexplicably at six in the morning, woke up again. He began to get up, but then stopped. There was that other person. Fun, fun, fun. He went back and thought up of some crazy stuff until about seven-ten, when he quitly dressed and got ready for class. However, all during that time he wondered why his roomate did not wake up. It would be rude to; so he simply left a message before he left.

It read, "Dear sir,

"Seeing as how you have a subtle insistance on sleeping, I did not want to wake you. However, be aware that in future I may make some noise in the name of being at this school. I am not blessed with rich parents, and must keep up my grades to continue with my tuition grant.

"However, I will introduce myself formally tonight, and then oblidge you to some of my more implacable behaviors."

Dorrian did not leave a 'sincerily' or 'truly', but signed his name in cursive followed by its katakana equivilant, "Dorrian Enris Armitage".

"Oh great 9 AM, ugh! too early" Hiro said looking at the clock. He then noticed a note by the clock, "Hm?" Hiro said reading the note, "Eh whatever" Hiro said dressing. Hiro got dressed then headed towards the courtyard having nothing better to do with his time.
