Hiro walked into the lunchroom, looked at what they had to eat and grabbed whatever looked most edible, He saw an empty table and went and sat by himself. He thought to himself Whats up with this school? these other students are so selfabsorbed. Then he thought well it may be because they have no idea how hard it is to be a kid with this kind of power, he then looked at his right arm and said under his breath "It may be very helpful, but its also dangerous, and it doesn't help me make friends around here so its kind of useless to me right now". He then looked around the loud lunchroom and thought these people are so loud, I wish they would quiet down.... |

'Halfway through a new school year and I am halfway 'round the world..... Well, this definitely is a new experience for me.... Might as well enjoy myself before actual classes start up,' William thought as he entered the lunch room. Since his first class did not start until the following week, his arrival being on a Friday, he had three days to adjust to a new school in a new country in a new side of the globe. And on top of that, he had a new language to master so that he did not make a total fool of himself within five minutes of opening his mouth. He was in casual dress, a blue short sleeved shirt that was way too big on him to still considered short sleeved, as the sleeves easily met his elbows and the shirt itself made its way over his hips, and a pair of baggy khakis, the pants a remanant of his old school, the three letters of the name still sewed over the pocket. It was one of the many things he kept to remind him of his home, and though he felt homesick now, he knew that it was too late to go back unless he felt like swimming an entire ocean. He didn't look unkempt, but just rather looked as if he was comfortable, the small sneakers he wore finishing off the outfit. The strangest thing about it was that as large as the t-shirt was, the neck was normal sized, as if to hide something. Of course, there wasn't much for him to hide, it just made it seem that way. He moved over to the lunch line and picked out a few good things and placed them on his tray. It wasn't a lot, he never was one to have a huge appetite on a regular basis, but it was enough to keep him fed. He then payed and walked over to the only table that was seemingly empty, holding only one other student. He sat down without a word and started to eat. He had noticed that the boy was moping and wasn't one to ever want to disturb a perfectly good dose of teenage angst. Being the perpetual optimist that he was, even if he was hit by it, he always tried his best to get over it, something that many other people his age never quite grasped. He smiled at the thought and continued to eat. Sometimes, he looked up at the other student, watching him with a smile, but never attempted to start a conversation. He had learned long ago that poking someone while they were moping could lead to one of two results. And one of them would require the janatorial staff to clean his remains from the walls. 'Ya, I think her warning about not ticking off kids with powers was one to take to heart,' he thought as he looked up again at the annoyed expression of the other boy, his own small smile not being darkened by it at all. |

Hiro was so lost in his thoughts he didn't notice the boy sit across from him, when he finally noticed he smiled and said "Hi I'm Hiro......Hiro Ennosuke". "I thik I've seen you around once or twice, im not completely sure but you do look familiar somehow" Hiro said. He then extended his hand across the table in order to shake the boys hand. |

The sudden conversation startled William a little bit. It wasn't what he expected. 'Well this is new. I would have sworn he would have snapped at me at why I sat down across from him,' William thought, thinking quickly as he heard the boy across from him introduce himself. It didn't seem that this boy was the same as the others he usually met in this kind a situation. He definitely wasn't dissapointed in finding someone who was slightly friendly, and he wasn't surprised that he was wrong about this person. He was usually wrong about people at first, and was glad of it after a while. William, in response, just smiled and held out his own hand, shaking Hiro's. His smile was one of sincerity and innocence, which unfortunately had nothing really behind it in the form of deception. William was strange when it came to his personality. But, when other people started a conversation, it helped remove the akwardness of the situation a lot from him. "I'm William. It's nice to meet you Hiro. I'm pretty sure you haven't seen me before, this is my first day in the school. But, it is still nice to meet someone new, whether we have seen eachother or not," he said with a small laugh. The entire time, he was sizing up the person across from him. The other's face was definitely one that he would love to draw. The red eyes, which were startling at first, but now more of entrancing than anything else, the scars, and the black hair that seemed to accent everything about him. Most people would be really scared upon seeing someone who looked like they had been in a war-zone like he had, but William never was one to judge by appearance. And he was one who found the natural, almost rough look a lot more human than the common 'too good to be true' beauty that many showed. |

Hiro smiled and said "At least your not like most people who run when they see the way I look, It doesn't really bother me anymore though". Hiro then thought to himself whats with this kid he is like just staring at me.......god I have such an urge to hit him with one of my bullet punches. Hiro then said to William "well dude I'll see you later, maybe outside or something, I'm off to train" then he got up and left the lunchroom, heading out to train for awhile. |

William was about to say something when Hiro suddenly announced his departure. "Oh.... okay.... See ya around.... I guess," he said, waving slightly goodbye at the figure. He watched as Hiro left, and then looked down at this food, so as not to show any change in emotion, not that anyone else seemed to really care anyway. His smile had dissapeared, having slowly faded away as Hiro made it pretty clear that he really didn't like being around him at all. At least, that is what he thought, or at least gathered from what Hiro had said. He just stared at his plate of food, wondering what exactly he had done wrong. 'Ouch.... I didn't.... think.... He seemed nice and friendly.... so it was me...,' he thought, sighing as he placed his face in his hand and just stared at his food. He had tried being friendly, and he didn't really see what he had done wrong. "Maybe I should have just left him alone....," he said to himself with a sigh as he continued to eat his food, his cheerful mood having been pretty much slain for that period of time. 'And he seemed like an interesting guy too.... I guess you can't win them all.... Or have everyone like you....,' he thought, 'Maybe a new start wasn't what I needed after all.....' |
