The tires of the taxicab screeched to a halt as it waited for the streetlight to turn green. Its driver, a portly Hispanic man turned his head around to look at his young passenger. Sitting with his head hung low was a teenager who seemed to be lost in thought.

“Nice hair.” he said as he chuckled a bit.

The boy immediately snapped back to reality and was caught off guard by the question. He had forgotten that just a short while ago he had cut off his curly brown locks and dyed it so that now the top of his head resembled a metallic gray hedgehog with a single long strand that started at the front of his hairline and fell over his left eye. He didn’t respond not sure what to make of what the man said. Was it a compliment or was he being sarcastic? Before he would have punched the man in the face irregardless of how he meant but not now. Even as he felt the anger grow inside himself he remained in control.

“Soooo, what brings you to Japan?” the driver asked trying again to strike up some conversation during the unusually long light.

“School.”

“Oh yeah, where?”

At first he thought about not answering, he didn’t know this man and didn’t know what his reaction would be. He would be going to school with a bunch of freaks, something he didn’t ever relish doing. But he had no choice, he was in exile even though it was self-imposed and he was hiding himself in a place where few expected him to go and a place where people like him were expected to go. Still this light was taking an unusually long time so he answered if only to starve off boredom.

“I’m not a liberty to discuss it.”

The driver smirked as the light turned green and he drove off. “Not at liberty, is it some type of secret? What’s your name anyway?”

This was another difficult question to answer. It wasn’t that he had no name but rather as a term of his exile he was to remain incognito, but had yet to choose an alias. He thought quickly so as to not make the lie obvious but what could he call himself. He thought about himself, he always considered himself a force to be reckoned with, and he thought of his power to erect force fields when it came to him.

“I call myself Force.”

Unaware to both Force and the driver something was charging at them with great speed. The two were still conversing when it collided with the side of the taxi. The jolt sent Force into the opposite side of the cab and while the driver smashed his head into the car doors window. As glass scattered across the back seat the damaged side of the cab was torn open and standing in front of wrecked vehicle was a tall man with a large muscular physique enclosed in metal armor.

“Where is Santiago?” he spoke in a low gravelly voice as he glanced inside the cab.

The driver moaned loudly as he regained consciousness. He gripped his forehead as blood streamed from it and at last noticed the behemoth glaring at him. His moaning turned into a whimper as fear washed over him.

“Where is Santiago?” asked the muscle man again in the same monotone.

Force kept quiet as the large man stared into his eyes but again his gaze fell back on the driver. Whoever he was he couldn’t have been that smart, there were only the two of them in the car and the driver was far too old to be the person he was looking for. Still something besides his intelligence seemed off about him, like he was led to this place and that he knew nothing about his task beyond the fact that he was to retrieve someone named Santiago. The large man reached inside the taxi with one hand and wrapped his long fat fingers around the drivers throat.

“Where is he?” the sound of his voice became harsher as tightened his grip.

In a panic the driver began speaking in Spanish, praying to Jesus Christ that he survive this ordeal. This was enough for the boy he had forgotten, Force opened the door behind him and slowly slipped out of the vehicle unnoticed by the big man. When he stood he saw that the once busy intersection was deserted. The people around had run away as was evidenced by the dropped shopping bags and deserted cars.

The driver continued to pray giving a much needed distraction as Force slid behind the juggernaut.

“Excuse me.”

The massive man released the driver and turned just in time to see a fist smash into his face and to his surprise it actually hurt. It had been a long time since any human being had hurt him and it clicked in his mind that this kid was the one. He staggered back but just for a moment before he regained his composure and charged at the boy. Force leapt forward right over his assailant who rammed his mammoth body into a discarded car. The man just brushed himself off and turned around to Force who was smirking.

“What’s the matter? Too fast for you, strong man.”

The man yelled out in anger and lifted the car he had just demolished over his head. The smirk vanished from Forces’ face as he tried to anticipate the strong mans next move. At first Force was sure the man was trying to kidnap him but now it seemed he was ready to take him either dead or alive. The time finally came when strong man heaved the car at Force with a greatest of ease. Now came the part Force expected and dreaded the most. His dark brown eyes shined blue-green and a translucent barrier of the same color appeared like a wall in front of him. He was protected but now came a pain the likes of which he had only felt twice before when he last used this ability. The searing pain blinded him momentarily and slowly faded away as the barrier dissolved. When he regained his vision the destroyed car lied in a heap before him and strong man stood right before him. He thrust his hand out clutched Force by the throat.

“Your coming with me.”

Although trying with all his might nothing was able to break strong mans grip. Whether Force wanted to admit it or not he needed help and he needed it fast.

Long white hair fluttered in the wind as she stood behind the massive being before her. Indeed, she hadn't seen someone so big and so strong since her trip to Hashinaru's moon. Her brilliant sword was already in her hands in a light grip; the inscriptions on it glowing a silvery-blue hue. She had seen the whole ordeal with the crashing of the car and the barrier that was formed. In fact, the whole predicament actually entertained her until he grabbed the teenage boy by the neck. She wasn't intending for the fun to stop just yet.

However, she didn't anticipate being squashed into a pancake just for the sake of one person. Still, she found herself swinging her sword into the man's arm without a head's up.

"Terribly sorry, you idiot." She stated as she brought her sword back to her side, "But I'm not quite ready for you to take this young man away from the scene yet...it's just not fair to me. No, you'll have to leave him alone." Her golden eyes sparkled in the sunlight and even then, her brilliance seemed to be a delusion to her lust for war.

"You see, I've had a long hard day and I finally get a moment worth of entertainment...but this? This just ruins it all for me. You're no good. No good at all. You should leave before I decide you're not worthy enough to run away..." The female figure, clothed in a black tank top and leather pants, examined the boy with a rather nonchalant expression on her face. If it wasn't for the resentment she had for humans and all of their 'might' she would've probably let the big ogre take him. And she was also rather arrogant (and not afraid to show it). Still, if he was going to leave, she expected to be battered and bruised to the point that she'd have to kill herself for a revigorated body.

And she was up for the fight if it ever came about. There was just something so satisfying about blood and violence, even if it was her own blood that stained her pure hair. She was maddeningly in love with fighting no matter who it was or what they were.

"So take your pick," She provoked with a slight tilt of her head. She looked rather innocent with her pale complexion and her fine features. Still, a few words with her would prove everyone wrong. Innocence was just a fancy word that people made up to describe bottled up people who acted as pacifists. Such a word was never meant for the likes of her.

"Zlax Wildcard, by the way, you ugly bastard." She continued, "You might as well know my name before the end."

Strong Man felt a small twinge of discomfort as the ivory haired swung her sword at his arm. A diminutively shallow cut appeared and he didn’t even seem to notice the girl. He knew someone else was there but they were of no concern to him, if they didn’t pose a threat it didn’t matter. But Force despite having a large set of finger crushing his windpipe heard every pompous word as it issued from her mouth.

“Stu-stupid bitch.” he managed to gargle the insult before he formed his own plan instantly in his head.

His eyes shone brightly again and a small translucent wall formed just above Strong Mans wrist. He concentrated on it and slowly the wall moved down cutting into Strong Mans wrist. Force could see the expression on his face change to that of pain but he didn’t move or release his grip, rather it seemed to get tighter until finally one of them gave way.

With a bellowing roar from Strong Man his wrist separated from his arm and Force fell to the floor coughing. The residual pain from moving the barrier still echoed in his brain but slowly disappeared. He tugged at the severed hand that still had a firm grip on his throat and managed to pry it off while Strong Man still shrieked in pain.

Finally Force managed to regain his composure and addressed the aloof warrior that stood before him. “If your not going to help then why the fuck did you intervene?” He leapt onto a cars hood just as a large fist came crashing down onto the concrete. “If your going to help then do something.”

Again a large fist smashed into the windshield giving Force only seconds to escape. Before he knew he was going to lose his hand but did nothing to prevent, he was like a automaton, but now he was trashing about in genuine pain and more than ever seemed intent on killing him. Strong Man continued to ignore the girl and concentrated his assault on Force making him flip and leap out of the way slowly wiping out his energy.

Then in an instant the attacks stopped and Strong Man stood still clutching the bloody stump that once connected his hand to its wrist. At first Force thought something was wrong with his eyesight but soon it continued and it was confirmed as slowly Strong man dissolved into nothing. In his place scattered around the battlefield at least twenty tall, skinny men dressed in identical gray garbs appeared.

“Where is Santiago?” one of the men spoke in the same lifeless monotone that Strong Man spoke in.

“Shit.”

They weren’t going to quit and already Force was far to weak to fight all of them. But still he never revealed his weakness, not to anyone.

“I’ll take you all on, right now.”

Zlax smiled in delight as she set herself delicately on top of a deserted car. She found no need to answer any of his questions or to argue with anything that he had said. Instead, she was rather happy that the show was now starting again. And thus, her attempt had not been in vain.

The Strong Man had not offended her in the least. Just as long as he kept thrashing his stump about in pain, she was happy. Her golden eyes followed Force for a bit before they focused back on the Strong Man. She even found herself laughing a little. In fact, the smile never left her face until the Strong Man disappeared and twenty skinny men appeared in his place. Zlax tilted her head with a slight frown pressed upon her features. No offense, twenty was better than one...but they didn't prove so interesting and so once again, her show was interrupted. A sigh escaped from her as she jumped down from the car and brushed herself off.

“Where is Santiago?”

Zlax examined the man and then she did the same to the others. She smoothed the flat of her sword with her pallid hand.

"Wow, Santiago must be a famous guy if all of these people are here to meet him." She murmured to herself as her eyes fell back upon the teenage boy. But what would they want with someone like him? He was amusing but not that amusing. Not even her enemies pursued her with the same vigor that these men pursued Force.

A shake of her head was her only reply. He'd been leaping around for some time and now he thought he could ward off twenty geeks? Fascinating if it wasn't for her boredom. She expected the men to ignore her just as the big guy that had once been present had done. Besides, they were all after one person and their goal seemed so fixated that they were bound to let her roam as she pleased...or at least, that's what she assumed. So, she took slow and timed steps towards the men and joined their little group as she glared at Force.

"You'll take them all on? What kind of statement is that? Such a human-like phrase...it almost makes me want to puke." She exclaimed as she thrusted her sword into the man nearest her. But she wasn't about to move out of their way hoping that they would follow her; no, she had a little too much pride for that. Besides, there was no gaurentee that they'd even try to attack her back or form some type of defense. All the better for her. She jammed her sword into another man and pulled it back out. She was obviously playing; no sense of seriousness could be sensed or even seen on her face. No, she was just having a little fun. For right now, they hadn't proved that they were serious enough to get rough with.

You'll take them all on? What kind of statement is that? Such a human-like phrase...it almost makes me want to puke.

“Then puke, at least you’ll doing something other than sitting on your ass.”

At the very least she seemed to have killed two of his assailants who both lied in a pool of blood. Despite the deaths of their comrades the rest ignored her and slowly walked towards Force. They knew he was getting tired and they knew they didn’t have to rush themselves, but Force wasn’t going down without a fight, not now. The men crowded around him and one by one Force noticed something slipping out of their sleeves. Concealed in each of their cloaks were two long blades that were connected to their wrists. Though he didn’t show it, his stomach was in knots. He might be able to take six or seven of them but eighteen was too much and unless the prissy girl with the sword was willingly to help he would have to run.

Quickly one of them charged at Force who kicked him in the face sending him flying into the sky before he had a chance to slash at the boys’ torso. His limp apparently unconscious body landed on the blade of one of his own. If all the others died so easily he might have a shot. Force turned and ran at one of the Gray Garbs and dodging an attack and leapt up and grabbed him by the head and with a quick snap broke his neck in half. He was dead but still there were far too many left for Force to feel cocky.

Irregardless of whether or not he could see their faces could see that they were getting serious. The pace at which they walked was increasing and he knew that soon they were going to win. He looked out over the street to see if he could find something that could help him. Two things caught his eye, a large traffic sign and yet again the girl with the weapon. He got an idea that made him smile but before that he needed these guys to start running after him.

The sign stood atop a large metal pole that with finesse and a lot of pain Force managed to remove from the ground by cutting it free with a barrier he created. He wiped a trickle a blood from his lip as it began to pour from his nose and ripped the thin metal sign away from the pole. In one swift movement the metal sign whizzed through the air and severed the head on one of the Gray Garbs. He threw the metal pole immediately afterwards which sunk deep into another’s chest. Now the men were made and broke into a run. Force too ran at them, and in the last moment dodged their attacks and ran along the side of a brick wall all the while keeping his eye on the girl, Zlax. He was going to give her a reason to fight.

Force stopped running in front of her and began to jog in place while he spoke. “Having fun?”

Finally another Gray Garb dashed up to him and swiftly slashed at his body. Force just smiled and leapt up over Zlax and landed just in time to see a few stands of her soft white hair land on the concrete below.

(OOC: Sorry for the small god-modding, just needed something to provoke her.)

((No problem. If you hadn't done something, she was going to go back to watching the 'show'.))

"I would puke...but I'm afraid I'd miss something." Zlax replied rather nonchalantly. It almost lost the humorous tone that would have been expected.

After killing two of the men, her reasoning process made her a bit lazy. These guys were no fun; they were completely ignoring her. She shrugged as she wiped the blood off of her sword. A sly smile played on her face as she watched Force. His barrier trick really did seem to impress her. Her golden eyes followed his every move and her arms folded with one hand grasping her blade.

She found no reason to intrude in the play just yet. Besides, the Gray Garbs actually seemed to be gaining some speed. So, she found it okay to be ignored...for a while. The truth was, even their quickened pace was starting to bore her again and she was about to leave with a wave of her hand and a 'good luck' type of expression...that was, until she saw a lock of her hair on the concrete below. She had a feeling that Force had set her up for such a situation. Nonetheless, she grabbed a handful of her hair and examined it with a grim smile that showed her irritation. Zlax hadn't cut her hair in her life due to the family ranking she was born into. And now, tradition was endangered by a bunch of single-minded idiots? Truly, she would have to kill herself now...such a error in her appearance was not accepted. But for now, someone had to pay for such a high crime to the nobility.

"Asshole..." She muttered as she grabbed a Gray Garb and shoved her sword down through his shoulder. Her eyes took a glassy glint as she tore another in two. Simple things angered her...however, when she was angry, there was no stopping her. She didn't care if they followed Force around while he pranced to escape their blows; she was going to run after the Gray Garbs until every last one was writhing in pain....if that was possible.

"Do you know how much pain is coming my way because of you and your incompetent little mind?!" She continued as she chopped the head off of a Gray Garb. Zlax hadn't lost her fuse yet and she pulled several more down one by one. In fact, she only slowed for a couple of seconds and that was only to push her blood-stained hair out of her eyes.

"Now I'm having fun." She called out to Force as she severed the limbs of another Gray Garb, "If only the little brats fought back for a change..." She licked the blood from her fingertips and shook her head. "It's not so easy keeping up family pride...."

Force was very pleased to see that however sneaky it was, his plan had worked. He knew the second he heard her that Zlax thought very highly of herself just as he always had. It was fuuny to him to find a kindred spirit so fast and yet he was convinced that they could never be more than the occasional allies at best. Truth was he didn't much care for people like himself, unlike himself they were just far to stuck up even if he was in reality more pompus. And seemed that Force would do this, think out whole relationships before anything had ever occured. He would purposfully seek out people that were useful to him at the moment and then throw them away. It was that reason above all else why he was in trouble. His callous disregard for any life other than his own made him unforgivable to most.

He seemed to be lingering on his past troubles when a voice called out to him. Zlax had mowed down a great deal of the men and Force was pleased to see that their were only six left. But troubled him a great deal was her method of defense. He understood that with a sword what else was she to do but still, if it weren't for her appearance Force who have considered her an inhuman monster which she probably was. Blood flowed from their veins heavily yet they never said a thing, no cries or moans, just silence as they were killed. And then when he counted them he noticed something even more unsettling, the bodies of the slain were no longer and neither was the severed hand of Strong Man. Could they have left hanging onto life by a thread or did they simply vanished like Strong man. He began to think deep about their disappearance when another one of her comments snapped him back to reality. Although she now enjoyed herself causing much blood shed Zlax wanted a bigger challenge and Force had a feeling he could give her that.

"Hey idiots, she's protecting me!."

Instantly two of the men charged at her with their blades at their sides. She had gotten the attention she desired and soon only four would be left. Another two men ran at Force in the same manner as the others. Force leapt up and kicked both men in the face with each one of his feet and then fell back to the ground hard on his back. He would have normally been able to land gracefully but due to the exhaustion his body his reflexes were becoming worse. He stood back up while the two stumbled back before regaining themselves and charging in again. Force smacked one in the face hard with the backside of his face and elbowed the other in the rib cage.

He was an expert in several different martial arts but didn't try anything to complicated. It had been a while since a real fight for him, not to mention the blades his attackers had worried him deeply. So he kept things simple just using basic kicks and punches and soon the two Gray Garbs were unconscious. It was only when he looked at their quiet bodies that he remebered the driver of the taxi and rushed to find him. The portly latino was lying amongst the wrecked cab still sleeping. Force was relieved and turned back to the fight when something caught his eye. The impact of Strong Man into the cab broke open a compartment that housed a long shiny pistol. Force had only ever used guns on hunting trips, he didn't much care for them. Guns were for cowards, he always thought, if you're going to kill someone it with you bare hands. But desperate times called for desperate measures, he opened the barrel and was pleased to see five rounds still in it.

With the two he took care of and the two Zlax was disposing of only another two Gray Garbs left standing. Force was also pleased to see that the two men he had just knocked unconsious were now gone too. The two remaining now seemed more aware of Zlax now and even had their backs to him. He aimed quietly and it was over, two perfect headshots and neither saw it coming.

"That was easy." Finally feeling the relief of knowing he was safe suddenly made him realize just how tired he was. In fact it was a miracle he could still walk. Of course it was then that the fatigue washed over him and slowly everything started to fade to black. "Guess its over n...."

"Hey idiots, she's protecting me!."

Zlax took a swift glance at Force. What was he talking about? She wasn't protecting him. She was doing it all for herself. But, her thoughts progressed no further before two Gray Garbs actually came her way.

"What?" She murmured to herself as she glared at them in confusion. They were definitely after her. There was no doubt about that. But she hadn't quite understood the reason for their sudden change in targets. Yet, she wasn't complaining. At least it gave her a little more of a challenge to deal with.

They were rather close to her now and still she made no attempt to rid them. She moved back a little eyeing them both as if studying them. One managed to slit her arm. A deep wound opened to the air and a liquid of silver began to spill out of it. Zlax merely laughed. It had been so long since she had felt pain from another being. The other was quick to follow the wound with a jab toward her ribs. Luckily, she moved in time to escape the blow. Now she was willing to destroy them. Why have enemies if you never let them hurt you for a change? It was a rather insane idea, yet she loved every moment of it. By the time she got rid of them both, she was bleeding profusely from multiple wounds. Still, a weak smile was evident on her lips. She had gotten what she wanted and she was pretty satisfied.

"That was easy.  Guess it's over n..."

Zlax made her way over to Force's body and she laughed a little.

"You're so stupid...just like every other idiot here...." she muttered. Her hair was covered in her own blood and with the blood of the Garbs she killed. Zlax looked at herself in pleasure as she grabbed her sword and extended her left arm. Her clothes were tattered by the blades that had grasped it and through a thin strip of her sleeve, a colorful tattoo was visable. It was her curse...

She rose her own blade high above her head and jammed it into her arm and through her body. Strangely, blood did not pour out of those wounds. Instead, she dropped to the ground and the life within her drained out. It was the perfect suicide...if she had died, that is.

Five or ten seconds later, a figure came down the road to the dead body of Zlax. Clothed in all black and topped with a black cloak, a pallid hand pulled the sword out of Zlax's cold body.

"What a beautiful corpse I make..." the figure murmured. The cloak was pulled back to reveal another Zlax! The renewed and revigorated Zlax pushed the dead body on the side of the road.

"There's no need for her anymore." She muttered. Zlax pulled her white hair in front of her. The peice that was cut off by the Gray Garb was there connected to her hair as if it had never happened. There were no scars on her body and no blood covered her hair. It was a completely new being with the same appearance, mindset, and soul. She sat back down beside Force.

"So...you've failed to entertain me...that's no good...There's no reason for me to stick around." She murmured although she doubted that Force could hear her. Although Force himself didn't know it, Zlax was much like him in many ways. She only cared for herself. Only the ones that were of any use to her were kept. Yet, if she had no more use for you, she tossed you away...or killed you.

"So this is goodbye, you human-like idiot. Oh, and those Garbs...I didn't do it for you. So don't get this idea that I was helping you on purpose...such thoughts are ridiculous." And she stood up, brushed herself off and began to walk away as she eyed the wreckage....
