Somewhere in a dark corner of the business section was a little store the sign above it said "Demonic Swords" it seemed as if the sign was on fire. Entering the store you can see all kind of sword hanging on the wall behind glass and a fire barrier. it ranged from normal katana sword to exotic 2 handed swords. At the end of the store was an counter made of pure oak with a little bell on it. strangely enough you couldn't see any entrance that would lead to the back room. "Why would human want any swords at all?" Seraphim asked drake "for more then one reason..you have your collectors who want to have real sword custom made and you have the meta-humans who probably use it for something else..There's always someone who wants a sword either decoration or training. And not to mention that these aren't cheap or everyday swords. drake explained sitting in a chair with his feet on the counter. |

Something drew Flame to that dark corner of the business section. He couldn't help but swipe his sunglasses off as he looked at the sign. Demonic Swords, now there was a name. He figured he didn't have anything to lose, except maybe the cash in his pocket. Inside made Flame almost like a kid in a candy shop. Katanas, broadswords, claymores, this smith clearly was worth his salt. Flame perused the wares briefly before his eyes fell upon what he assumed was the shop keeper. "Afternoon," Flame sated with a nod. "Wonder if you might be in the mood for a custom job." He pulled out a slip of notebook paper with a rough sketch of a Double-Helix sword. Flame smirked as he set down a wad of bills next to the drawing. "I've got $500 USD right now, and can have another $500 when its done. You up for it?" |

Drake noticed the customer looking around "So kiddo what will it be?" drake asked him "See like I told you he's either a collector or a meta-human" drake said guessing. and watched the drawing on the piece of paper. "So your a collector..sure seems like a nice sword to hang on your wall." but before he even finished his sentence he saw five hundred bucks "Since it's a double sword and your my first customer today...I'll take five now but I will need seven when I'm done and by the looks off it, The sword will be done tomorrow afternoon. Now one more thing, What kind of metal do you want? the price rises with the metal quality so it's your call..with the current amount I can offer you mithril..if you want it folded then of course it will cost you more." Drake explained "1200 dollars for mithril?? Have you lost your fricking mind?? it's a rare metal and your giving it away for a lousy 1200??" seraphim reacted annoyed "Relax..first customer is always important..surely after this rich people will come." drake explained |

"Seven's fine," Flame replied. "And I have a little more intended for it than just a wall decoration. It needs to be strong, so the Mithril will work just fine. And how about I add another three hundred to that seven? Sweeten the deal a little." Of course, Flame understood that quality weapons cost a lot of money, and he was quite willing to pay. His weekly check, combined with that fortune in diamonds retrieved from space, well, he was well able to make such a purchase. He was surprised too that the guy was offering such a steal, but hey, never look a gift horse in the mouth. Or did that apply here? |

"Well kiddo..if you want to use it then I hope for your sake that you got enough cash since battle swords don't come cheap decoration sword on the other hand are." Drake explained with that being said drake walked to the back. "I'm not that stupid decoration swords are easy to make and wouldn't take me very long half a at most but sharp swords on the other hand take more time" Drake said to serap and started making the sword. "This doesn't look to hard I just need to make two separate blades bend them a bit after that put them together not to forget sharping the blades and there you a unpractical sword." Drake said as he was busy on heating the metal by touching it with his left hand, when it got hot enough he placed the sword in the water, few second later drake pulled out the metal and started hammering it get it into shape. 3 hours later.. "There we go..two blades all bended and now we just need to put it together" as he said that drake placed his finger the blades just to make it hot so that they can melt together. "Next order of business" "Do you always talk so much??jeez" an half hour passed and drake was done with the sword. "Now we wait for the kid to come back and see if he's ready to pay the price..." drake wondered as he walked back into the store putting the sword under the counter and getting back into his chair. |

Flame, during that period, wasn't sitting on his ass waiting. He had gone out to collect some more funds, which included trading in some diamonds. It didn't diminish his collection a lot, and he had plenty of money in the bank. When he came back he found the smith back in his seat, almost as if he hadn't moved. "Well now either you're messing with me, or you finished," he commented lightly. "Anyway, here it is, $1,000 in cash." He put the money on the counter and smiled. "So lets see it, how'd ya do?" |

Drake pulled out the sword from under the counter "Here you go kiddo your helix sword..I have to say that it doesn't look very practical. It's your sword, the best in it's kind." Drake said and demonstrated the sharpness of the sword by letting a feather on it that cut it two the moment it touched the sword. "If your strong enough you can even cut a few tree's with one slash. Not to forget the mithril is not only very strong but it also keeps the sword sharp no matter what you do with it." Drake explained as he handed over the sword. "It's been a pleasure doing business with ya kiddo" he said and got back into his chair taking a nap. |

Rory made her way into the shop, having made her way here from the dorms at school. It had been difficult to find it and her feet were a little tired from all the walking around. "Finally found it..." She sighs and walks farther into the store, looking around at all the swords, impressed. "Pretty cool." She adjusts the bag hanging on her shoulder, now looking for the big boss of the place. "Anyone here?" ((Sorry so short >.<)) |

"Wake up..you got a customer..Wake up!!.....WAKE UP!!!!" Serap shouted at Drake who almost fell out of his chair "You don't have to shout..I heard ya! Why don't you get it? my mouth is still dry from all that talking to that kid about the sword training" "Alright but if he or she runs away then it's your fault" Serap warned Drake appearing in a bright flash off light, the human looking demon changed into a demon with black wings and a rather pale body with tribal drawings all over his body. "What??" said a Seraphim in inhuman tone of voice that sounded rather deep and scary from behind the counter |

That had rather caught Rory off guard and she unconciously hunched her shoulders and grabbed the front of her jacket tightly with both hands. She had heard from him that he was a demon and she had been perpared, but that voice sounded different, making her wonder if she should work here. It certainly wouldn't help with her fear of being in the dark, might even give her nightmares. "No, calm down. It's probably just someone else that works here..." she thought to herself as she turned around to face Seraphim, "I'm here for the jo..." She was cut off before being able to finish the sentance once she was fully facing the demon and got a good look at him. Her mouth open, she wasn't able to say much of anything, yet somehow this popped out of her mouth without her knowledge of even saying it, "If this was a movie, this is where I'd scream and escape or as soon as I turn, get pounced on and shredded into beef jerky for a snack later on..." |

"It's not a movie and you do look like a good snack to me" Serap answered looking her over "You to buy a sword? maybe the job or is it that obvious that you want to be eaten?" He asked teasing her a bit as that was his favorite thing to do teasing humans. "If your looking for Drake he's taking a nap as usual. It's one the laziest demons I've ever seen or better yet shared a body with, You'll probably wouldn't even understand that anyway. So what's it going to be sword, job, or lunch?" He asked the girl that standing in front of him looking as if she saw a ghost Serap looked under the counter and saw a brochure with the prices of the swords , kinds of metal and time also he saw some applications forms. Taking them out he placed them both on the counter in front of her. "There you go" he said waiting for her reaction which would either be running away, passing out or just look at the paper be placed in front of her. |

Rome Stands Again

The downtown scene was always too much to handle being young and not knowing what strange character would walk up to, ask you for something or rant lunatic sins to you. The world such an odd place and it makes you wonder who is actually in touch with God. The streets were so bright with the street lights in so many areas and so many different shops were enticing with their shimmering signs and sparkling glass windows, but of course Rome didn't have the... how do you say, age maturity to enter them. :: What is there to do down here? I mean food of course. Arcades sound nice but I don't want to spend frivoulous amounts on something that will only last minutes, possibly hours. I want something to entrance in it. Something, that deems bad but at the same time technique. I want it all to just...:: Down the alley way a bright sign hung as if it were a blaze with the words, "Demonic Weapons". Rome stood still with his hands in his pocket and his Ipod blasting away with Linkin Park in his ears. A smile crept across his face, this could be the trick. As if something or someone had taken him over his goal was to get a sword that meant something to him. A sword that proved a goal. A sword that... how would he request a sword he knew nothing about them. :: What type am I getting? What can I get? How big? What is a sword for? Tha'z stupid, a sword is for swinging. I could use it for training, and if it comes to it a possible battle. I want a big blade, a nice sharp one... d'uh they all come sharp.:: Rome stood in the doorway as he heard a girl's voice speak of beef jerky shreds and being eaten. When he had taken off his head phones he had no idea but his ears were ringing from the blasting of the music. Walking behind the girl he waited his turn or even to be acknowldged. |

Rory was surprised when he seemed to know what she had been thinking and that was mounting her worries, but then it hit her she had spoken that out loud, "N-no... This... I came here looking for a job." She looks down at the paper for a bit, then noticing someone behind her. She lets out a small squeek of surprise and moves to the side, turning slightly to keep both in view. After briefly looking Rome over, she lets out a sigh of relief. "Well, that's embarrassing." |

"Alright kiddo while your filling our the forms, I'll go eat..I mean help an other customer" Serap said joking around since Drake was sleeping anyway. "What can I do for you kiddo? you looking for a toy sword or maybe your first real sword?" He asked the boy that was standing behind the girl. "You still sleeping? I got a kid who wants to buy a sword but he doesn't really look like a sword user..and the girl I think that's she just froze" sadly there was no response. Serap took out and brochure with the swords ,kinds of metal on it and threw it to the boy "I'll hear it when you made up your mind" Serap said while trying to wake up Drake with no success so far. |

"...kiddo..." was all that Rome heard. It unsettled his nerves because that just reminded him that he wasn't going to be seen as an adult for a long time, he thought something might come out from this. The whole being on campus made him feel apart of something but he was no longer on the campus where everyone was pretty much the same and couldn't be looked at as young or old, unless by their powers. His thoughts drained into anger for resentment amongst his parents and his temperature began to boil. Looking around the shop he saw the girl standing still and it made his hate simmer down and cause a smirk amongst his face. He laughed off the anger but was quickly caught off guard as a brochure was thrown to him, catching it with boths hands bobbling it around was a chore and made him look that much more adolescent. :: This sword should make me look older. I just know it. If not, then I'll learn to use so that I can show it off and prove that I am not just another teenager who doesn't know what he wants.:: Flipping throught the pages with no means of anything besides to see the pictures of every sword. Finally, in the middle of the brochure he saw the sword he wanted. Without saying anything he folded the brochure in half and walked towards the desk, slamming the brochure down and pointing at the picture. "How much is this sword?" Not paying any attention as he was too eager to obtain his new cherished item, the price was underneath his hand as his pointer fingered did it's job in pointing to its desire. -Sword Image- Solid 440 Stainless Steel Full tang sword - Blade goes to the end of the handle! Cloth wrapped handle with streamer Two-tone blade: Black and Polished Stainless Steel Width: Base of blade - Approximately 4.5 inches Length: Tip of sword to end of handle: Approximately 41.5 inches |

"This you have to see..the sword is almost as big as the kid it self.. Serap said "Let me see.." Drake said as he was suddenly awake "You tell him..I'm getting tired of these humans" Serap said to Drake as they switched places and the spot where the demon was changed into a human looking guy with white/red hair. Drake looked at the picture "Are you sure that you can even swing this sword? It's almost as big as you not mention pretty heavy but so long your paying..it's your choice.." looking it over again "I'd say 1500 bucks..seven fifty now and the other seven fifty when the sword is done which will probably be tomorrow or so." Drake explained to him |

The questions he was asked were so impaling to his ego that he didn't know what to say, the only thing he could muster was the average american saying of, "I know." And all went quiet again, obviously the look of confusion in Rome's eyes and the whole long face made him seem that much more immature in this topic. His head was empty and the words of the clerk, who had mysteriously changed figure right in front of him; Making his voice silenced even more. The price had gone in one ear and out the other but it was clear to him as he grabbed his wallet from his pocket, as the man had agreed to make his sword, and with quick haste too. Handing over a bank card, knowing that the money would be in there, because he hadn't used it since the arrival at the new school, meaning lots of money on it. Getting his reciept, Rome looked at the girl writing on a piece of paper and then looked back at the clerk, "Thanks yous." He walked slowly out the door as if embarrassed because he had picked the sword based on looks and not knowing its attributes, but none the less he was glad about the whole deal. Stepping out of the shop was a relief because he didn't have that clerks eerie stare on him. Putting the head phones back in his ears and turning it to Korn, Tattered And Torn, he began to walk towards the bus stop and back to school. |

Rory had stood there the whole time, almost frozen but watching the two interact. She had no idea how someone could have seemingly faced the demon so calmly as Rome had just done, even ordering a sword. What was just as amazing to her was watching Seraphim change into someone she had met before, Drake. To say the least, she began calming down little by little even though she was still facing a demon, but didn't panic when Rome left the store. Instead, she decided to ask Drake, "You really eat people?" |

Drake laughed "Nah not really, To many calories and not mention the fat percentage" He said with a joke "If your wondering when you can start, That's tomorrow or whenever you prefer to start but today isn't a good day since I can't give you a tour because of that order I got and I really need to get working on that. It takes at least one whole day to finish it" Drake explained to her and took the order "What was it with that kid anyway?" Serap asked Drake curiously "He's probably new and wants to show off by buying a big sword which he probably can't even handle. I don't care so long he pays the price" Drake explained. |

Finding the way through the streets and to the alley was easier then it had been the night before. Walking through the door was a little tough for him because he wasn't quite sure what to expect or what to even say. He thought for sure that he was going to get belittled because it showed in him the inexperience on this matter. He'd ask for help, he knew he would, hopefully there'd be some to recieve. Walking up to the counter he looked around and waited for the owner to arrive, or atleast something, since he was a shapeshifter of some sort. |

Rory smiled slightly at the joke and nodded as he explained about the sword, "Alright, I'll come back tomorrow to work." She then leaves the store, heading back to the dorms before she has to walk outside in the dark. Unfortunately, the next day, although she new how to get to the store now, she was beaten to the store by a customer, which in her mind, wasn't that good. Employees had to be punctual, after all. Granted this was a new job in a place she didn't know too well right now, but eventually might be able to learn the amount of time it takes to get from one place to another so she wouldn't end up being late anymore. But, never the less, she hoped the boss wouldn't be too strict, even though he's a demon... She moved from the door to the counter, greeting the customer, Rome, "Oh, hello. Sorry, I'm kinda late." |

It didn't take Drake long to create the sword since the design was pretty simple "Let's finish it by making it razor sharp since it's mostly an offensive weapon anyway." Few minutes later the sword was so sharp you could cut a hair on it. "Alright to keep it clean and sharp..I'm going to wrap it a towel" he said wanting to but realized that he didn't have a towel big enough for the sword so instead he just used big bandages to wrap it. "Bandages?? that's the weird thing I've ever seen but then again you are weird so" Serap said joking around. "You sure get tired after a hard days works" Drake said as he sat down in his comfy chair and took a nap until the next morning when Rory came in which he didn't notice because as usual Drake was sleeping in the chair while leaning against the wall. |

Rory wondered what Drake could possibly be doing and sighed, not really knowing what to do. She was kind of wondering if they should sell a sword to this customer, Rome, but figured since she was just an employee she should just do her job anyway. Trying to be friendly like she had seen at others, she bowed a bit awkwardly to Rome, "Excuse me, sorry for the wait." Turning from him, she walks through the store to Drake, finding him sleeping in the chair. "He's sleeping still?" Sighing, she moves over to his chair, reaching out to pinch his nose between her fingers, something she had often done to her sister and friends to wake them up, a kind of bad habit, and while speaking loudly, "Hey, boss! Should you really be sleeping when we have a customer?" |

Seeing the girl run in from the front door and in a hurry he realized that she had the job that she had applied for the day before. Smiled as she approached him and walked behind the counter, "Oh, hello. Sorry, I'm kinda late.". Rome was eager to obtain his reward but skeptical about the looks, that was of course being young and the owner seemed to have many years under his belt and this girl seemed to know more about the category then he did. "I'm just here to pick up my order, Miss. Althought I do have more to ask before I am handed it. But of course, I'll take it before I ask the questions. I don't really... well... ahem" Rome reached across his face to his ear scratching it. He reached into his pocket grabbing the cash card to pay for the final half. "I want to ask about some lessons if that is possible or if not point me in the right direction to some. I've read about it but nothing is as helpful as by hand experience. Of course I could just learn myself, it could provide for entertainment, if not too much of a depression for lack of perfection." |

He asked slightly annoyed "That's why I hired you, Your the receptionist I'm the blacksmith" Drake explained and sat back down in his chair "Oh yeah the sword is under the counter and if he wants lessons..." he wanted to say but changed his mind. "I'll do it.." by saying that Drake walked to the store area and grabbed the sword from under the counter. "Here you kiddo, The two handed sword you ordered. Now before I hand it over I want the other half of the agreed price" Drake said Rome who was waiting for it. |

Rory laughed when Drake fell out of the chair, not in the least bit bothered by the annoyance in his voice. It was a pretty normal reaction to something like that, but decided to atleast say something, "Sorry." She followed him back to the counter, then pulling out a small notepad and pen, putting them on the counter to help keep track of orders until she got more use to the job. Propping her elbow on the counter and resting her chin in the palm of her hand, for now just watching Drake and Rome, who seemed a bit embarrassed and maybe even nervous. She wondered if Drake was going to give him lessons thinking it might help with Rome's confidence if he knew how to use the sword. Drake could probably charge people for lessons if he wanted. She thought about saying this out loud, but figured it wasn't any of her business and possibly he had already thought of it before. |

As Drake came out of the back room and reached for his sword, his eyes lit up with excitement. Eager to grab the sword and feel it's warmth, so to speak, he dropped the bank card on the floor as he released his grip on it. Nervously, he bent down and picked it up sliding it across the counter to the girl who had been writing things down in a transaction book of sorts. "The $750, is in that card,"He said looking at the girl but then he drew his eyes back to Drake,"...but I'd like to ask for lessons or atleast point in the direction of some...an..."Rome coughed on the last part of his sentence because he didn't want to say what was on his mind. Which was the fact that this guy kept calling him kiddo. Taking in deep breaths and relaxing his nerves. He was waiting to get handed the sword he desperately wanted to hold. |

Drake laughed slightly "I knew it, let me guess either you just want to showoff or you want to show people that your not a push over because of have this big ass sword" Drake guessed as walked to the back of his store, Few minutes later he came back with a book. "Since I already have a student, I'll give you this book which tells you pretty much the basics like how to hold it,swing it and stuff like that and now to your sword. It's pretty sharp and by sharp I mean you can even cut down a big tree with one swing. If your strong enough that is" Drake explained handing him the sword "Have fun with it" He said yawning as he left Rory in the shop and walked to the back. |

Rory took the card that Rome had handed over, looking through the manual on how to use the machine and then swiping the card through, charging the $750 from it. Smiling, she hands the card back to Rome, "Thank you for your business." She watched Drake walk to the back and then coming back with the book, then telling Rome about it before he walked again to the back room. "Is he going to sleep more? Man..." She sighs, then turns back to Rome, smiling lightly, "Too bad he's already teaching someone, but maybe you can find another person who can teach you. Books just don't seem like effective teachers for that kind of thing, at least to me." An idea hit her then, though she didn't know if Rome would feel like it, "Oh, I know! Since this is a blacksmith shop for swords, people who know how to use swords really well might come here, right? Why don't you leave your name and contact information here and if anyone comes here, I'll ask if they can teach you." She crosses her arms, looking a little more serious, "It's possible that they might charge you for lessons, though." |

The whole process was quick and quite disappointing as he saw Drake disappear in the back but was relieved with his return with a study guide, the books never did it for him, he'd read about three hours in the library the night before but he couldn't just refuse a free offer. The girl took the card and ran it through the machine. A good sign as it beeped and the reciept started to print. Her suggestion to leave information about a training session sounded good to him but who would really come about and check on it. He'd grabbed a piece of paper from the side of the register and began to write down his information. Handing it over to her, he smiled and went to pick up his sword with a little hesitation it was heavier then he'd expected. Smiling at her again, he picked it up and threw it over his shoulder. He'd have to get something that would hold it along his back, a strap of some sort and a holster for it... maybe, he did buy it for looks but he also wanted to have something else to live with besides his ipod and laptop. Walking out the door he was careful not to hit anything, turning around to close the door, he smiled at the girl. "Thanks." |

Drake walked back in "That's why I need someone like you behind the counter. I can't stand seeing humans who buy a such a sword but don't even know how to use it. If it's just as an collectible item then that's just fine with me but buying just to show off or make you feel important is just pathetic. Swords are not toys or usable items, they are an extension of yourself. If people can't see that then they will never be able to use a sword the way it should be. Like the saying goes ""It's not the sword that makes the man, It's the man that wields the sword"" Drake said complaining about humans as he often did "If you ever need a sword let me know I'll make you one for free. Specially for you and not somebody else." He said more seriously |

Rory had watched Rome leave the store with his new sword. He seemed a bit down, so she hoped that he gained confidence with or without the sword. She was somewhat surprised when Drake walked back into the room, having assumed he was going to go back to sleep. Listening to him seriously, she understood what he was saying, though she herself though swords were kind of cool, she hadn't given much thought to their use or how someone used them. "That kinda makes sense... But, even so, he's young and will learn things, right?"
That was an interesting offer to Rory, but after what Drake had said about a sword being an extension of yourself, she wasn't quite sure if it would suit her. Smiling slightly, she replies, "After what you said, I'll think seriously about it. If a sword can be an extension of you, then there must be other extensions. So, I'll think about if a sword is the right one for me. I'm still trying to figure things out like that customer, too." |

Another day, the sun beat down and his seemingly eternal search still resulted in no clues. What he wouldn’t give for his eye to twitch, to tell him that Raine was fine and that he could stop worrying about all the stupid things he had worried about before. Yet still every time he passed by a student of AHS his heart squeezed tighter, every time he looked into the eyes of someone hardened by battle he wondered if this was going to be the fight to end all fights. He felt it, as the weeks had worn on his strength diminished, surely if he ate he could regain some, but others like Tlachtga’s warm gift, they were lost to a different symptom. If he got into a fight now, it could be his last and his withered body agreed with him, he had to find out what to do from here. When he had Tlachtga he had become increasingly strong with her guidance, yet that was gone and he had only himself to rely on. Though still thinking back on the pair of students that had been hired to kill him, they had both used weapons. Like many of the students of the campus. He’d need something… Which is how he found himself inside the shop named “Demonic Swords” The name was a sort of sick irony that might have caused him to enter. Considering his status as a chimera. Entering he was assaulted by all the various blades, each one finely crafted by the master smith who owned the store. Brian ran his fingers along the glass countertops examining the blades as he passed them, the katanas were something of a bitter reminder to him of how many times he’d seen those blades come at him. He looked at them with some measure of disgust for how often he had batted them away with Tlachtga. So he moved on quickly pausing on the straight edged blades, the ones that looked like they would strike hard and cleave rather than slice. Though for all his experience being on the receiving end of the blades, he’d never known the feel of one in his hands. He was essentially walking though this hall of swords blind as to if he even wanted a sword when his proficiency had been the spear. Yet his hands ached at the thought of wielding some other spear than Tlachtga. |

It's been quiet lately, that was soon going to change with the H-block being destroyed people will probably want to have something to defend themselves or protect someone. Drake expected that the business would get better soon enough. That same moment a new customer came in looking at the swords. From his lazy position in the chair Drake asked "Hey kiddo, you need a sword or are thinking that this is a sword museum?" not being annoyed at all. It's all because people haven't been buying that much swords from him and he wasn't going to lower the price anytime soon. "If you need a custom made sword then show me the design and you'll have your sword ready the next day although custom made swords ain't cheap but if you want quality swords then you need have a deep enough pocket for it. if your not so rich then I suggest going down the street where you can buy cheap replica's which probably won't last that long anyway." he explained knowing that it's never a smart thing to direct a customer to an other sword shop in this case and situation people want quality swords that are going to last not only for a good while but are also sharp enough to do some damage. |

Brian felt weird having not noticed the owner of the store immediately; he was an imposingly large figure with traces of demonic heritage, an easy explanation for the stores name. Fiery eyes were locked with the crosshairs of Brian’s own; Brian didn’t seem unnerved by the sudden response from someone who didn’t seem keen on having anyone but the rich in his store. Though to Brian it cast a doubt on the quality of the blades themselves, when his ears heard the ring of high price first then followed by the boastful quality. Still Brian wanted to at least know what it would be like to weld the very weapon that sought his blood so many times. Where better than to buy a sword than from a demon, after all, was his black soul all that different from a demon’s? His true rage knew that when he was pushed into a corner that fiery stare from this shop keep was cold in comparison. Brian would prefer to defend himself without going to such extremes, didn’t desire to cast his beaten enemies to the underworld when they hardly deserved it. The weapon he chooses would not just be a defense for himself, but a protective barrier between them and his anger. “The name of the store, is it because each sword is designed to kill a demon… or is it because you are one?” Brian picked up a simple claymore, the weight was unfamiliar and his arm twisted the wrong way when holding it, It looked like he had broken his wrist as he looked at it before holding it at his side. Brian’s face betrayed no pain as he looked at the shop keep with his keen eyes, sharpened by the light of day he waited for this man to betray some reason for him to look elsewhere. Yet Brian didn’t want to offend and he realized quickly his brooding thoughts had resulted in some snap words. “I know nothing about swords, I’ve never held one till now. I assure you if this is the right store, money won’t be an object.” Brian had glanced at the prices, even the most expensive sword inlet with gems and jewels, something that could only be meant for show was nothing but a single day’s work to him, a single statue to those men who had more money than sense. |

"It would be stupid to make swords to kill my own kind so yeah I'm a real life demon without any human blood or DNA at all." Drake said as he stood up and watched his customer pick up a claymore which are pretty heavy. "If you never held one then it would be wiser to start with a one handed sword instead of picking up a sword that is purely designed to hold with two hands. This is the place to be when you want a custom made sword not to mention that I have every kind of mental know to man and demon. To get back on the subject a one handed sword is the best choice for a novice or a katana which is officially a one handed sword but you still hold it with two hands." he said explaining taking out an basic katana "Here we go, a traditional Japanese sword made for slashing and are usually pretty light while European swords are more for chopping, stabbing and can be rather heavy like the sword you just picked up.. it really depends on what your style is" Drake explained more about the kinds of swords. |

Brian held the cold steel in his hand and it felt that way, cold and detached. True enough Brian was holding the blade but as he thought about how he’d use it the blade felt as unwieldy as the crooked wrist looked on his arm. As the demon blacksmith began his sales pitch Brian noted the distinct push for Brian to use a more traditional blade. With the demon’s own admission at the foolishness of wanting to destroy his own kind Brian felt the sting of a bit of guilt for his own experiences to quite the contrary. He’d spent a good portion of his life fighting his own kind as much as he spent fighting his fellow students. Learning to defend himself was a effort in learning how to beat the people around him, and to cope with the losses of those closest to him. Brian’s hand involuntarily trembled as he put the claymore back on the stand. The demon was pitching the value of his swords, starting with the katana that he had picked up first. Brian knew the pitch must have been related to their popularity. Brian looked at the long curved blade, a decided slashing weapon and Brian was sure he could trace a number of the scars under his fur that he’d received. The type of sword depended on his style? For this Brian had to think, he didn’t have a style of fighting it was something that was always adapting. Every time his body shifted he had to relearn a lot of what he took for granted. He needed a sword that had it’s strength in it’s versatility. Brian picked up a much smaller Dao sword, the Chinese blade felt a bit more comfortable but the curve still felt uncomfortable. Brian gave it some sample swings as he listened to the demon describe some of the other blades. Listening to the stylistic points of slicing a chopping, most of all a custom blade sounded like it would be a must. “I don’t have a style with any sword as of yet. My experience to date was with a duel edged spear, a lot of slashing and piercing. Since… that weapon was lost to me, I’ve been relying on my powers, but they’re no catch all. I need to temper my powers with something real again; fists don’t work against robots and the like.” Brian lifted with his other hand a Chinese jian a straight edge sword; again he liked the feel of it but could see the duel edge as being a problem, seeing the demon smith’s eyes upon him still, if he was going to buy a custom sword he’d have to start speaking these likes and dislikes. “I don’t like the katana, more personal preference than anything… seen one too many come at me, and personally if you had any features on a sword to make it more effective against a katana’s blade I’d appreciate it. I like the weight of this sword… but the straight edge of this one appeals to me as well.” In respect to his comments he held up the Dao blade for the balanced weight of the very slight curve to a thicker blade, and held up the Jian for the straight edge and balance as well. Scanning the shop he was impressed by the collection. |

"you don't need any special features to stop a katana blade it's skill of the wielder that can make the difference." Drake explained as he watched Brian take out two swords "I can always make a sword that has the weight of one and the straight edge of the other. Now that I think about it Dual wielding could give you an advantage but seeing as you have been using a spear I would recommend a sword that has a blade on both sides. Gives you the length and weight of a spear." Drake suggested as walked to a cabinet taking about a Double sword that has the same edge as the Dao Blade. "Here we go..the weight of a spear and the blade of your preferred sword." Drake said handing the Double Sword over to Brian. |

As the demon smith began to outline the problems with Brian’s request, Brian took the professionals notes to heart. As he added these new bits of information into what would become his dream blade the demon smith was taking his time to size up what his client was actually seeking. The duel wield option was not something he had considered and as Brian hefted his shoulders holding one sword in each hand Brian felt that this wasn’t the way he wanted so early. Brian was hesitant to try a duel edge sword or a two sword fighting style, for the concern that he would end up doing more harm to himself than anyone else. Tlachtga’s fighting style had developed naturally with her guidance, this soulless sword would not be giving him that benefit. As the demon smith went to a cabinet Brian put the two swords he had taken up back down. Making mental notes about what he wanted from them as the demon smith drew out a large duel edge sword. It looked quite imposing to him, and as he held it there was a distinct power to it. The heft of the blade and the razor edges adorning each side. Brian nodded to the demon smith acknowledging his prowess with the blade selection but this blade crossed over a few of the notes he had made earlier. The weight too reminded him of Tlachtga, it brought a small smile to his face but he’d never be able to fight with this weapon that brought sentimental tendencies to him. “This is a fine weapon, but I’d prefer something a bit lighter… I like the thickness of the blade, something with the same balance for the handle and blade would be good. I move fairly fast when I fight, constantly changing directions and in some ways trying to trick my opponent into giving up an opening. For that I need something that can be drawn quickly and can strike fast. Based on what we’ve already discussed can you see a sword like that?” |

"Then I just might have the sword for you kiddo" Drake said as he placed back to double sword and took out an Chinese sword. he walked back to Brian "Here we go a Dadao it has broad blades generally between two and three feet long, long hilts meant for "hand and a half" or two-handed use, and generally a weight-forward balance. They are most commonly associated with civilian militias or revolutionaries. While it's not a particularly sophisticated sword, the weight and balance of the Dadao gives the wielder considerable slashing and chopping power, making it an effective close combat weapon for untrained humans." Drake explained holding out the blade "But if your really looking for speed to cut your opponent down then the Japanese Uchigatana could be the sword for you. Although it was made for slashing when your on a horse back then. You could compare it to a western Rapier in terms of speed. Even though the Uchigatana does fall in the same category as the katana blade" Drake said suggesting an other blade. "So on one hand you have a saber that's perfect for people who don't have much experience with swords while in the other hand you got a very fast sword that resembles the katana which you don't seem to like." |
