Aside from the slightly irritating wait for the elevator in the dorms, Takumi and Gabriel's departure from their living spaces to the lunchroom was uneventful. The sky outside was slightly overcast, suggesting rain at some point, but thus far they'd been lucky. With a tour of the campus in order, hopefully their luck would hold out...

Rolling over the threshold of the Lunchroom in his ever-present wheelchair, Takumi adjusted his glasses, pushing them a bit higher onto his nose and looked around. There was the usual amount of people in the lunchroom for a meal time, this meal being lunch, of course. Some students were hurriedly shoveling down food before running off to their next class. Still others lingered over drinks and other things, talking, laughing, enjoying themselves. All at 20,000 bucks a semester. Takumi supposed that you really did get what you paid for.

Takumi and Gabriel got a few odd looks as they wove their way between clutches of students, sitting or standing around talking, finally settling at a small table in a corner, where the nearest students were a table or two away.

"Is it just me, or is this place a breeding ground for trouble?" Takumi asked, looking around at the various typical social groups all together, albeit in separate areas, in one room. It seemed like a time-bomb ready to go off and, judging by the burn marks and other things occasionally seen on the floors, tables, chairs, and other places, the bomb seemed to periodically go off. Of course the truth was that the Lunchroom was probably only second to the Labs in terms of being periodically rebuilt. However for some the Lunchroom took a higher spot, as the labs' destruction was normally the by-product of accidents of some kind. The Lunchroom, however, was normally consciously blown up or damaged in fights between the students, giving it a less than gleaming reputation.....

Jhona's eyes were quickly drawn to the wheelchair, and on a whim, he decided that the seated person would be his lunch company for the day. It had been a long morning of reading hand motions and mouthed signals, and now it was time to unwind with a fellow meta-human.

He pulled his hood back from his forehead and let it fall away, leaving only his sunglasses and earphones. His cheeks and scalp tingled as they were exposed to the air, and Jhona smiled as he took a seat.

"Hope you don't mind," said Jhona pleasantly.

As soon as the elevator released them and they got outside Gabriel was glad she had chosen to bring a sweater along. The air was cool and the sky slightly dark, enough for her to believe that her promise of a tour may have to be broken, unless he only wanted to go on a tour of all the indoor places. She could show him the library, the activities center and even the science labs if he wanted. Hopefully the rain would continue to stay put until later that night or possibly even tomorrow morning.

Showing him to the lunchroom she stepped inside with him where she was met with an interesting sight. Usually the lunchroom was in slight disarray as far as dents in the wall, cracks in the ceiling and burn or scuff marks on the floor; but now it seemed as if someone had blown it to pieces only to throw all the misshapen pieces back together and call it fixed. Even some of the more destructive fights she’d witnessed break out among students hadn’t left such a mark. Yet everyone in the room seemed to not notice it or they already knew all about it, later on she would need to find out what happened… not that she cared or anything like that! No, no it was simply her curiosity spiking, yes, that’s what Gabriel would continue to tell her self.

Looking away from all the damage she realized that a fair amount of the other students in the lunchroom were staring at them. Gabriel blinked and tried to focus on something else but it was surprisingly hard for her to do so this time. Usually she was ignored by the masses and could ignore them in return without a second thought; but now they weren’t just looking at her, they were staring! She could feel their eyes on her, assessing her, making her skin crawl beneath her sweater. Now she could understand the meaning of being uncomfortable. The worst part was that Gabriel couldn’t keep her self from guessing what they were thinking as she and Takumi weaved in and out of tables.
‘How could he hang out with her?’ ‘Who is she anyway? I’ve never seen her before.’ ‘She hangs around the library a lot, never talks to anyone or says anything.’ ‘What a freak…’
To Gabriel, she was the freak, never once did she consider the fact that they might be staring at Takumi in his wheelchair. Certainly they would never think him to be a freak; his personality was too… real for anyone to not accept him just because he needs a wheelchair to move around.

Only when they finally stopped and Takumi spoke did her mind break away from the stares of the other students and settle onto him. “Oh, you have no idea. You’ve come to the lunchroom on a good day, or at least it seems to be going good so far.” Pulling a chair out she sat down across from him and did her best not to look back and see if they were still staring. Quickly she rubbed her arm under the table to make the uncomfortable feeling fade away, she was surprised to feel little tiny dots all over her skin. Looking down she noticed the little bumps all over her arm and wondered briefly if she was getting sick. Poking her arm gently she watched a shadow cross over her before another student sat down next to her. Gabriel glanced at him for a moment before looking back over to Takumi, she didn’t really mind it but she didn’t know if Takumi would. Then again he didn’t seem like the type of person to ask someone to leave either.

Takumi didn't really mind the other student, actually. The guy seemed new, and as such, Takumi simply didn't have the heart to react negatively.

"Not at all." he replied, smiling slighty before going back to looking around the area. Aside from a few jocks bugging some of the science geeks to do homework for them, things seemed quiet for the moment. Though Takumi figured that all it took was one accidental bump and a monologue to get a brawl going in this place.

Takumi turned back to Gabriel, noticing that she seemed slightly cold or afraid. His face went into a look of concern. He knew places like this could be intimidating, but he figured she had been here for awhile and as such had gotten used to it. Slowly the truth of Gabriel, who she was and the reason she acted the way she did, was dawning on him. Of course he didn't know specifics. At this point it was simply conclusions drawn from spending time with her. But as it was, it seemed that instead of simply being cold and introverted, she seemed....scared. It wasn't that she disliked people, it was that people seemed to scare her in large groups.

Reaching out under the table, he managed to brush her fingers with his. It was a simple gesture, and he did it almost subconsciously. It was a reaction to her reaction to the others.

"So since you're the one with working legs." Takumi said, smiling a bit at his quip at his own expense. "you think you could get us food? I'll pay."

Once Takumi smiled Gabriel knew the new student was welcome to join them; but then again, why would Takumi say no to him? Glancing over at the new boy he seemed to be genuine, or at least he looked as though he had no ulterior motive. As long as he didn’t stare at her with judging eyes like all the other students had done then she really didn’t mind him being there with them. Maybe it was a good thing that he was joining them, after all, it wasn’t like she had any friends to invite out to lunch with her.

Looking back to her arm she rubbed it gently trying to make the dots on her skin fade away. Gabriel could only assume that they appeared because of the other students staring at her. Somehow it had caused her feelings to affect her physically, it was the first time she could remember anything like this happening to her. Other than those few instances when she could swear she was feeling something due to a sudden heat or coldness she really never experienced any physical aspect to an emotion. She wanted to understand what it was that was causing these things, these feelings to happen but she just couldn’t. All text book definitions aside there was no meaning to what she felt; to her emotions are words with meanings but no real depth or purpose. How was Gabriel supposed to figure out how to add depth to those words again?

Sliding the sleeve of her sweater back down again to possibly hide the bumps on her arm from Takumi as well as the new boy she felt something and instantly looked down. Were those Takumi’s fingers? Glancing back up at him she began to feel that same warmth from earlier in the hall spreading up her neck and into her cheeks again. Had he been watching her examine her arm just now? A small tingle shot through her arm at the thought and it took everything in her to push the warmth that had begun to form in her stomach back down again. Even though there was a color in her cheeks her face remained the same as always; but there was something, something so small it wouldn’t even be noticed. The right corner of her mouth tugged slightly for a mere second, suggesting that there might be a smile hidden underneath; but if it was there it was indeed hidden away. Takumi’s concern for her was so real, so genuine that she couldn’t deny how it touched her. When everyone else would stare and ignore her he was actually sitting with her, smiling, talking and even going as far as to try and make her comfortable. Why was he so different?

Tearing her eyes away from his she looked over to the food area before nodding quickly and standing up. Of course she should have realized this sooner but the other student’s reactions had caught her off guard. “Oh I don’t mind paying. Since I’m showing you around I’ll take care of lunch.” She claimed with a small nod while trying to figure out what to do with her hands. Somehow she could still feel the warmth from the brief touch of his hand; it was so odd to her that she should still feel it.

Turning away she began to weave her way back through the tables toward the line when she realized that she had no idea what he liked to eat. In her haste to make the warmth leave her hand she forgot that vital detail of asking what exactly he liked. Stopping short of the line she rubbed her arm gently, a small habit she was beginning to adopt as her own whenever she was unsure of something. Glancing back over her shoulder she looked at him from across the room and wondered if she should go back and ask or just make a guess of it. Letting out a slow breath she decided on the second option. Picking up a tray she walked down the line and began to grab small portions of almost everything: grapes, carrots, a couple sandwiches, a small bowl of soup, some bread, a salad and even some Brussels sprouts.

After paying a surprised looking cashier she carried her completely filled tray back through the masses and to their table. Gabriel was actually surprised that she was only almost knocked over once by one of the bigger boys who were earlier taunting one of the science students. Whether or not it was an accident she didn’t know, but luckily enough she didn’t drop anything and managed to nod to him when he gave a brief apology and laughed. Reaching the table she easily slid into her seat and set the tray in between them. “Sorry Takumi, I forgot to ask what you liked so I just got a bit of everything.” Avoiding his eyes she hoped he hadn’t witnessed her interaction with the bigger boy while reaching for a few grapes.

Takumi watched Gabriel make her way from the table and back. He noticed the way she moved, though not the incident with one of the jocks. He'd been watching that guy's buddies at that particular moment, unfortunately. It was difficult to look in two places at once. Not to mention he was...kind of distracted by Gabriel herself. He noticed that she had a nice behind. What? he couldn't look at her behind when she was walking away from him anyway and keep it to himself? He was a guy after all. Looking was not out of bounds, especially when he kept any comments to himself. Besides, a sense of humor was one of those things Takumi was pretty sure she was still working on. Thus making any comments would just result in an awkward moment.

Takumi smiled a bit as she returned, her tray laden with food. It all looked good enough, and he figured with tuition price it would probably taste good as well. Food at his other school had a bad tendency to be mediocre at best. Fortunately that wasn't really a problem for Takumi, though on some occasions it did aggravate him.

"I consider myself omnivorous." Takumi replied, taking one of the sandwiches and munching on it happily. "Thanks for buying."

Takumi looked around once more as a slight confrontation started at the far end of the hall, comfortably away from the table they were at.

"I think you've got a good idea going," Takumi remarked, looking back at Gabriel. "spending lots of time in your dorm or by yourself. A bunch of foolish, arrogant people with powers that could easily kill a person all cooped up into one place. When I think about it, it's an act of courage for weaker people like you and me to step out of our doors in the morning."

"It's all so immature and barbaric....how can we live like this?" Takumi wondered, taking another bite of the sandwich. His mind was on the Nation of True Humanity...touting Metas as an advanced species. Better than common humans. But how were these people, who picked a fight with eachother every fifteen minutes, better?

As Gabriel placed a grape in her mouth she unfolded a napkin and placed it across her lap. Feeling hollowness in her stomach she decided that soup would be the best thing to fill her up, especially if it was going to rain later. Popping another grape into her mouth she pulled the soup forward and picked up a spoon off the tray before glancing back to Takumi. He didn’t seem to mind the fact that she had brought him a mini version of the actual lunch buffet. And since he hadn’t mentioned her interaction with the other boy she could only be extremely glad that he hadn’t witnessed it. Was that what she felt? A certain sense of elation just knowing Takumi hadn’t witnessed yet another moment of her clumsiness? If it were anyone else Gabriel knew she wouldn’t care what they thought of her, maybe she was actually becoming attached to the fact that he noticed her and seemed to actually enjoy her company.

Snapping out of her thoughts she glanced down at her soup before slowly scooping some up and blowing gently to cool it and swallow it. Pausing slightly she nodded to Takumi, “You’re quite welcome, I’m…enjoying the company…” she said hesitantly before instantly going back to her soup. Gabriel was surprised by how quickly she finished her soup as well as her small portion of grapes, part of her reason was to try and keep herself from looking at Takumi. She felt slightly more comfortable in the crowded lunchroom with him around but she was still unsure of what to say being unused to having decent conversations, the weight of trying to change was starting to get heavy.

Hearing the confrontation in the corner her head immediately shot up and she slowly began to slide her chair closer to the wall. As silly as it sounded it was a natural survivor instinct for her to react this way. Instantly her appetite was gone and she set her spoon down carefully before folding her hands in her lap. Usually the fights never grew too large and were quickly broken up; but there was always a chance that things could escalate, and with that there was also a small chance that it could escalate in their general direction. When Takumi spoke she turned her head a fraction in his direction to let him know that she was listening to what he was saying.

Somehow…even though he lumped himself in with his words, that seemed to stab right through her. Yes, Gabriel was always known as the quiet, weak girl who would stay in her dorm or be in the most vacant corners of the library. Perhaps that would always be her…but it had never sounded so…pathetic, until Takumi had just said it. And even though she was sure he meant it in a good way it still sort of struck something within her, something close to an ache but not quite there. Nevertheless she found herself nodding and glancing back over to the fighting students.

“I don’t think it was always like this…maybe in the beginning it wasn’t about who was the strongest meta-human. Maybe it was about something more, about actually coming together to support something they believed in…as cliché as that may sound.” She stated with a small shrug. “Now it more about who the alpha is, who’s the strongest meta-human here. The way I see it is we can’t really live like this but we have no other choice because the people here are the only one’s who are mildly accepting of us…”

"We always have a choice." Takumi replied, watching the confrontation get heated. Unfortunately only a few people with instincts like Gabriel's were inching away, most likely rightly so. "We could live alongside humans, we could truly show that we're better if we think that. But this..." he continued, gesturing towards the confrontation. "this foolishness has to stop. There's a difference between action and useless conflict, and this is the latter."

Takumi continued to watch the argument, the two very close to coming to blows. The air crackled with their energy. Takumi thought about doing nothing, about taking Gabriel and leaving on their tour of the school. Then he realized that it would be futile. No matter where they went they'd find some schmuck looking for a fight, and with his disability, and Gabriel's tendency to be introverted, they'd look like the perfect targets for an easy victory for someone who just wanted a fight and didn't care who they fought....

"Guess there's nothing for it." Takumi sighed, rummaging in his backpack. He turned to Gabriel and smiled. "Hold my chair until I get back, will you?"

Turning back to face the fight, Takumi pulled something from his backpack: a belt. It was odd, certainly not the type of belt one used to keep one's pants up. As the belt slid around Takumi's waist, a voice issued from it. A cold emotionless voice one would expect to hear from a computer's voice-imitation software....

REI UNIT DETECTED. STANDING BY.

"Henshin."

COMPLETE.

For the briefest of moments, a flash small flash of light appeared, engulfing Takumi. After the light faded, Takumi was no longer in his chair, but standing in front of it. and he certainly didn't look like he did a moment ago....

Great compound eyes, gleaming white armor, emblazoned with '00' on it's back, a crimson scarf tied lightly around his neck...this was no longer the happy go lucky actor. This was the monster Shocker failed to make. This was the hero they produced instead.

It took Takumi only a moment to move over to where the confrontation was going on, and he arrived in the middle of the two as they were just beginning to throw their first blows. Much to his relief, he'd managed to position himself just right. Crossing his arms, he caught a fist in each hand, the owners looking surprised at this newcomer who had shown up in the midst of their epic battle. Uncrossing his arms sent the two off their feet and hurling in eachother's directions, missing eachother by scant inches, each skidding to a halt on the floor, bumping into a chair or a table, though fortunately not knocking anything over.

"You really shouldn't fight here." Takumi said, looking at neither one of the combatants, but rather addressing the room at large, anyone who was bothering to listen. "If you have a problem, take it somewhere more appropriate. Some of us are trying to enjoy our lunch. Not watch you all crush eachother's faces in."

"and who are you to order us around, huh?" one of the combatants asked angrily, struggling to his feet. "My parents are dead! I need vengance! I have to be-" he was stopped in mid-sentence as Takumi reached out and placed a gloved finger over his mouth, still not looking at anyone seemingly, his eyes under the helmet staying on Gabriel.

"I am sure your hardships were horrible, and you have my sympathy." Takumi said. "But the Gods took your family out of the script for a reason. The show must always go on. So stop living for the past."

"As for me..." Takumi continued. "I'm just the hero. I'm the one who overcame my hardships and moved on, unlike either of you, it seems." his head turned to look at both of the combatants before looking back, seemingly into space. He removed his hand from the one guy's mouth, walking back to his chair.

"...I'm the new guy. I'm weak." he remarked, not looking back at any of them. "If I can do it, and you can't....what does that make you?"

Fortunately for Takumi, everyone had turned to tend to the two combatants by the time he got back to his wheelchair. Sitting down he removed the belt, instantly changing back to his human form, stowing the belt back in his backpack and turning back to Gabriel, picking up his unfinished bit of sandwich.

"Sorry about that...it was becoming annoying." he remarked casually, as if nothing had happened. Yes, he was going to fit in well around this crazy place. "So I meant to ask: where are you from? I know this place gets people from around the world...."

Gabriel wanted so badly to believe in what he was saying, but she knew better than anyone that those words just weren’t true. Not only did the strangers and neighbors shun her because of what she is, but her own family turned against her as well. Even after her mother saved some of their lives and cared for them when they were sick. Always they would come to her whenever they had even the smallest of ailments; but as soon as she was gone they acted as though Gabriel didn’t even exist. How could she believe that they could all live in harmony when she had tried so hard to end up with nothing? She knew he was right in a way, but how could she agree with him after everything she’s seen?

“I agree that it has to stop, but most humans aren’t willing to give us a chance. It just doesn’t matter to them what we do to try and make things right, they don’t care Takumi.” She glanced at him for a brief moment before looking back over to the squabbling students. As she watched them continue to escalate towards physical violence she noticed Takumi moving in the corner of her eye and instantly pulled her attention to focus on him.

“…hold…your chair?” she question while leaning forward slightly to see what it was he was pulling from his bag and fastening around himself. Just as she realized it was a belt a blinding light flashed into her eyes causing her to fall back into her seat. The pulses in her eyes went crazy as she carefully tried to blink them away; but when she finally could see again, what she saw made her blink her eyes again. Gripping the edge of her chair she slid forward staring at him intently with wide, surprised looking eyes. Finally a little emotion entered her as shock rolled through her body; Takumi was standing up! Not only standing, but he looked like…well, Gabriel wasn’t very familiar with comic books, but from what she did know Takumi looked a lot like Iron Man.

Quickly she rose and crossed to the other side of the table, grabbing his chair handles before it could roll away from the table. How was he doing this? Where had the armor come from? More importantly, was there a way for him to wear it without the armor while allowing him to walk still? So many questions crossed through her mind as she watched him effortlessly separate the two fighters before things got too out of hand. Gabriel gripped the handles tightly and locked her eyes onto him, would he be able to do anything if they all decided to jump him? Would Takumi accept her help if things got really out of hand? Gabriel felt so confused at this point that the pulses in her eyes had sped to an alarming rate, if she didn’t calm down she was going to end up accidently charming someone into hypnosis.

‘The show must always go on.’

Gabriel remembered him telling her that once before. Looking down into his chair she let out a slow breath and tried to block out the crash of memories that came tumbling toward the forefront. She didn’t have time to deal with that now, not to mention she didn’t have the strength or the frame of mind either. Even though he wore a mask she could feel his eyes on her and somehow it helped her to push those memories back and somehow go back to her seat as he returned to the table.

All she could do was staring down at her folded hands as he changed back into his former self and started up the conversation as if nothing had happened. Takumi didn’t plan to explain anything he had just done? Not even what that thing was he was wearing or what exactly it does to him?! Gabriel knew it was none of her business but she was feeling…curious, unusually so. Now he wanted to talk as though nothing had happened, how could he dismiss the situation so easily? Unfortunately she was scared that if she so much as glanced at him her powers would kick in and take him over for who knows how long?

Keeping eye contact with her hands she started, “Well…I’m from a small town in New Hampshire, inside the United States…but since I’ve come here I don’t plan on going back to the states, I like it here… Where are you from Takumi?” she trailed off while glancing around the room, trying desperately to find something to focus on. If she didn’t get the pulses in her eyes under control she would have to make an excuse to leave for a few moments. Only then could she ask Takumi the millions of questions running through her mind.

"I'm actually from an american military base near Tokyo." Takumi said. "My father is american, mother's Japanese."

Takumi looked a bit surprised as he saw Gabriel look down at her hands. He wasn't exactly sure of what was going on, but he had a suspicion that it had something to do with her powers. He then realized that he didn't even know what powers she had. He was momentarily unhappy with himself at this realization. It was simply a fact of proper survival around here to know the skills and abilities of those you meet.

Of course it then occurred to him that he'd never really mentioned anything about his abilities. Of course he'd only recently acquired his full range of abilities. With the acquisition of the belt, not only had he regained the power to walk, but his strength had almost doubled. Which of course was why he was able to stop the two little emos from having a brawl just a few moments ago. Though that hadn't exactly been easy. His arms ached slightly just sitting there doing nothing. Had he had time to lock his arms before grabbing those punches, he might not have had to strain himself. But if soreness was the most of his problems, he'd be happy. He tried to resist the urge to attempt to rub some comfort back into his right one, which seemed to be throbbing with a bit more pain than his left, but failed.

"Are you okay?" Takumi asked, rubbing his right arm, comfort going only as far as his touch, unfortunately. "Sorry if I startled you back there..."

“Really? Did you ever spend any time in America or were you always in Tokyo?” she asked while watching the students from earlier from across the room. Gabriel was careful not lock eyes with any of them, but she couldn’t deny that the way things had gone made her ‘feel’ quite nervous. She still didn’t fully understand what happened and it was causing her powers to go off balance. The pulse within her eyes moved faster and faster until her power was at its maximum, if she didn’t figure out how to release it she was going to end up drawing some stranger to her for no reason at all.

Placing a hand against her forehead she shielded her eyes from view before looking back up at Takumi so she could see him but he couldn’t see her eyes directly. At least then she could look relatively normal rather than look like she was ignoring him. “No, I’m fine, just a little surprised I suppose.” She stated with a small shrug while watching his hand move over his arm. Had he hurt himself when he separated those boys? Maybe…if she focused…she could heal him? Gabriel hadn’t attempted to heal anyone since she had saved that boy at the lake weeks ago. What if she did something wrong and made things worse? Even though it was a possibility she didn’t think she would mess it up, at least not with Takumi; he actually seemed to trust her to a certain point.

Locking her eyes onto his shoulder she continued to shield her eyes from him while reaching for her water bottle with her free hand. “Takumi are you in pain? If you want…I could heal your arm for you…” Closing her eyes for a moment she tried to focus her mind on something…anything that would make her eyes calm down and her power go away.

"I've actually never been to america." Takumi replied. "Though considering the state of things there now, perhaps that's a good thing. I'd say it's probably a good thing you didn't stay either. But once things settle down I suppose I wouldn't mind visiting."

As he spoke, Takumi's eyes drifted over to one of the small TV monitors hung about the area. Normally they had all different kinds of programs on them, to appeal to as many groups of students as possible. However in recent days, as everyone watched and waited to see how the assassination of the american president and the ensuing meta-human registration act panned out, the monitors were all tuned to news stations. Takumi himself had never exactly liked watching the news...it was too depressing to watch the world slowly fall apart at the seams day after day. However he understood the unfortunate necessity to keep up on such information, which was why he always made an effort to at least grab a paper each morning. Papers didn't have the same tendency to show gruesome footage from disasters ad nausem like so many news-networks. As if on cue to his thoughts, the monitor nearest them, and the one Takumi was watching, showed, for the umpteenth time, the by now infamous footage of President Krauser getting killed.

The news did, however, have a surprisingly amusing side-effect: the amount of people guessing who or what was behind everything. Sure, some people guessed the Nation, or one of the other countries in the world who had an extremely high meta population. Those, at least, Takumi was willing to consider. The ones he laughed at were the ones that came most often. The speculation that some big business or agency or organization that secretly wanted to own the world or wipe out all metas was behind it. Needless to say every other person who mentioned it mentioned a different name. Normally the name of the entity they themselves had had an experience with. Takumi had a chuckle at these accusations. They were just being obsessive. He knew it since it took one to know one. Sure, upon hearing about the act he figured Shocker putting it through somehow to get tabs on him and any others who had betrayed them carried a decent probability. However upon hearing and seeing what had exactly happened, he put that probability back to zero. Shocker had never claimed for it's troops to be True Humans. Nor was something like this really conductive to their needs. It was better for metas to fly around unchecked....easier for their cyborgs to exist in everyday society without drawing large amounts of attention to themselves. No...he had a feeling only the kids who guessed something about the Nation might be right, but, it was just a feeling....

"I actually just kinda wrenched it when I threw those two..." Takumi smiled, still rubbing his arm. "But if you could heal it, I'd be very thankful. Maybe when you're done we could head somewhere else? This place is getting too crowded for my tastes." he finished, eyeing the groups of students coming in noisily from the Courtyard.

Gabriel didn't need to be told twice. Sliding her chair back from the table she kept a careful eye on the rowdy kids that continued to fill tables closer and closer to them while slowly rising and walking over to Takumi's side. Pulling her sweater off she folded it in half before layng it down on the table top. Keeping her eyes trained on his shoulder she kneeled down next to him and gently began to roll his sleeve up. "To do it I have to wet my hands, I don't want to get your shirt wet..." she explained briefly while gently rolling his sleeve upward. She was careful not to apply any pressure to his arm for fear of causing him further pain.

Standing up she leaned over the table to pull her empty soup bowl over. Unscrewing the lid on her water bottle she placed it down on the table before holding her hand over the empty bowl and pouring the cool water over her hand. Doing the same to her other hand she placed the bottle back down and kneeled at his side once more. "I can't garantee that it won't sting a little, so I'm sorry." she apologized before pressing her wet hands gently to his shoulder.

Closing her eyes she focused her power into her hands and soon enough she could feel the pulse in her eyes slowing down. The energy passed through her until finally her hands glowed with power and Takumi's shoulder slowly began to heal. Gabriel noted that it wasn't anything serious, but still bad enough to cause slight discomfort and pain. At least she could do something about for him, after the way he had broken up that fight. After a few moments she checked once more to see that everything was as it should be before slowly opening her eyes and pulling her hands away.

"Does that feel better Takumi?" she asked while grabbing a napkin to dry her hands off as well as a small wet spot she had left on his arm. "I'm not sure why it only works with water..." she commented lightly while absentmindedly rolling his sleeve back down. Now that she had used a majority of the pulse from her eyes to heal him Gabriel knew it would be safe enough to look at Takumi; but she wasn't sure she wanted to chance it just yet.

Rising slowly she looked toward the crowd of incoming students and nodded, "Yes I agree, I just hope they're not coming in because of the high chance of rain." Shaking her head slightly she turned back to the table and neatly piled their trash back onto the tray. "I'll just take care of this then we can go..." she said while lifting the tray and carefully making her way to the nearest trash can, convieniently enough the one furthest from the other students. Placing the now empty tray in its proper place she walked back to Takumi's side and glanced out the window.

"Any suggestions on where you would like to go next Takumi? I think the rain will hold off a little longer if you were thinking somewhere outdoors..."
