Drisk sat on a blue couch, head leaning on his arm as he stared toward the aquarium, mesmerised by the sheer largeness of it. A pebble lay in his hand, Drisk throwing it in the air and shifting it first into the green semi-liquid of base matter and then into another pebble every time he caught it. There wasn't a whole lot to be gained from that small amount of practice, but it was a very relaxing activity. Drisk needed to be doing a relaxing activity, because he was stressed out of his mind. Obviously he had to sleep somewhere tonight, but quite honestly Drisk had no idea which room he was supposed to go to. There was only a small window of time to find out, as he had to go somewhere after curfew, or risk getting into trouble.

The whole situation was very stressful, which is why Drisk was continuously doing his little pebble trick. What to do, what to do.... Drisk thought, so distracted by his thoughts and the aquarium that he failed to notice the sharp edge he had given his most recent pebble, and his eyes widened in surprise as it dug into his skin. "Ow" Drisk said quietly, and shifted it into base matter, then placing it behind his ear, much like some kids do with gum.

Sighing, Drisk thought about where he could find out his room number. Then he wondered if maybe everyone just went to a random room every night, but quickly pushed that thought out of his head, for it seemed a little too.... stupid. Up until that point, it had been a great first day. Hopefully he'd find out his room, and soon. You won't said Marius in his head. Shut up Drisk thought back to him. Drisk supposed he should be lucky. If this was his biggest problem right now, there's no way Marius would gain control for quite some time.

Some people were full of bad ideas. No, not bad, more like unorthodox ones. Rizel had suddenly become that type of person. While preparing to go roller blading again she had put her roller blades on while still in her room. The thought came late that she didn’t care to take them off. The young girl was clad in pink and yellow knee pads, elbow pads, fingerless gloves and of course her roller blades. Unfortunately she lived on the 5th floor of the dorms. Fortunately there was an elevator.

It didn’t take much time to get to the bottom of the dorm building. Just enough time to circle around in it three or four times. At the ding the doors opened and Rizel seemingly slid out effortlessly. She wore a cap sleeved white shirt under a pink hoody vest. On the hood were sown two matching pink bunny ears along with a small face that was hidden under her deep brown curls. On her thin legs she wore a pair of knee length shorts that were rolled up twice to let the knee pads rest on her skin and not her pants.

Joyfully she skated down the hall toward the lobby. Once there she stopped herself and checked her pockets. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the boy, who she stood close to, but at that moment her cell phone rang. Though thirteen year olds didn’t normally have phones, she owned one to keep in touch with her family. Yet the ring had surprised her after she had whipped around to see the boy on the couch. Hearing the ring sent her stumbling into a fall right toward the couch. Just her luck to fall into someone. People and roller blades really weren’t a good combination for her, which was the only time she tended to fall. She toppled forward onto the couch and onto the boy. How embarrassing.

“Kyaa!”

Drisk saw the girl coming out of th elevator, and could hear Marius practically yell inside his head FALL, FALL, BREAK YOUR NECK! after seeing the girl was wearing roller blades.... and walking out of an elevator. Drisk stretched his eyes upward in a fruitless attempt to see his own forehead, and thought quite clearly you are the sickest [censored] I've ever met. Seriously, how the hell did you come into being in MY head?

The little mental back-and-forth distracted Drisk from several very important details.
1. The girl on the roller blades was tripping, due to her phone ringing.
2. Just an add-on to 1, the girl was tripping towards him.
Now, normally Drisk might not have gone sprawling on the floor just because some 13-year old collided into him. But he'd been distracted at the time.... and so he totally went sprawling on the floor. You knocked out? Marius asked.
Don't get your hopes up
damn
Drisk recovered from the fall, and stood up, brushing himself off. That's when he noticed the new absence of weight behind his left ear. The base matter had gone flying, and ended up landing right on the other girl's shirt. Drisk pointed at the girl and said "did it ever occur to you to put on your roller blades when you actually got.... outside? There are only three reasons why someone would put on roller blades before getting into an elevator. First, a lack of common sense. Second, a lack of smarts. Third" Drisk started to smile, "an excess of awesome. So, which is it?"

The boy had jumped up from underneath Rizel and she was left sort of kneeling on the ground. Both her hands rested on her legs and she was bent over with her head down. As soon as he spoke she looked up, at first shocked. With his words she lowered her head, allowing her long bangs to hide her eyes. During the scolding she was getting a bit upset. At the way he spoke to her until the end of his statement. She looked up at him again in surprise.

“I… uhh… I didn’t mean to trip!”

Her sweet childish voice was very apologetic. In fact, when noticed, a sweetness seemed to surround her. Another thing that would be noticed is that her eyes seemed to be welling up with tears. It was obvious that his scolding had done that, or perhaps the fall. With her left hand she slid a finger under her eye to rum away the tear. She hated seemingly like a klutz or stupid, as he said. It couldn’t be helped when things distracted her or got in her way while she was stuck on a pair of roller blades.

Drisk felt a pang of remorse for ever scolding her for it. The roller-blading fall had been an accident, even if it could have been avoided by putting on roller blades later. "look" he said, "I'm just going to assume it's the third one, and that you happen to have a severe overdose of awesome. My name's Drisk, and umm.... this is my first day here." Then pointing at the base matter which still clung to her shirt, he said "soo, you have some broken-down rock on your shirt."

"Soo... who are you?" Drisk asked the girl. BUt as soon as he did he heard a cold voice in his head, one he'd gotten all too familiar with.
You know... that outburst was sort of unlike you. Maybe we're a bit more similar then you've been assuming.
No, I'm the direct opposite of you, do you hear me? I would never kill, and I don't get a sick pleasure from watching others get hurt. Despite his counter-thoughts, Drisk couldn't help but think about what Marius had said. Did he like saying stuff like that to people. Sure it was on a much smaller scale than what Marius liked to do, but still... it scared Drisk.

His words caught her off guard while she was pulling herself to her feet. Only then did she realize how tall he was. In fact, without her roller blades on, he would be a complete foot taller than her. Luckily when she pulled herself up she kept her balance. When he pointed out a rock on her shirt she pulled it off, it was a weird texture and she didn’t want to touch it, but she wanted to give it back. After it came off she made sure it wasn’t any green stain where it left, just because of the way it felt. As she extended her hand up to him she answered his question as to who she was.

“I’m Rizel. I’ve been here for a while.”

While her hand was out to give him the rock, matter thing back it could also be out to shake hands. She wondered if he needed help finding his way around the school or something. Who wanted to be lost around here? Suddenly a rainbow colored pair of wings shot out from little Rizels’ body and were practically the same size of her. When she realized this had happened she looked down at her wrist and sort of panicked, internally. Before he could say anything she blushed and looked shocked but didn’t hide her face. Instead she sort of laughed a bit timidly.

Drisk reached his hand out, shook Rizel's, also taking back the green lump of base matter and shifted it into a large pebble, the lump seeming to change shape and color of it's own accord in his hand. Drisk put it in his pocket (he didn't want to drop it again) and stared at both wings that had jetted out of Rizel, his eyes growing to what looked nearly twice their normal size. After a few seconds Drisk said "okay... now I know that it was the excess in awesome. Those wings are cool. The most I can do is turn a rock into a piece of metal, at least until I get better at my powers. You see that green in my hair? It's sort of a visual representation of how adept I am with my base sculpting. When I get better, more green appears. I hope that eventually the entirety of my hair will be green."

Thinking for a moment, Drisk remembered his earlier dilemna, and wondered if Rizel could help him. "So, you know how I said I was new? Well, I sort of have no idea which dorm room I'm supposed to go to tonight, is there any way you could help me find out?"

He talked a lot. More than people talked on first encounters, or so it seemed. Maybe he was just really friendly. At his first comment she blushed and smiled widely. Then he continued about his powers. Of course she didn’t quite understand considering he gave a very condensed version, or so it seemed, but that left room for conversation. So the green was natural? That was amazing! He was so cool! Rizel kept smiling until she suddenly remembered that she wasn’t wearing her bracelet. The wings on her back weren’t hated by her, it was just she wasn’t used to walking around with them out as they were.

“Do you have your registration papers?”

She looked down to find her bracelet. It wouldn’t be hard to find the shimmering silver band. The thing about the jewels was like under the casing, what would most likely be thought of as glass or some such, was the constantly moving blue of the crystal. No, it wasn’t something you could find just laying around. Yet it was like there was a current inside each jewel, moving blue liquid around and around.

“I’ll help you on one condition. If you help me find a bracelet I dropped. It must have happened when I ran into you.”

When she asked Drisk if he had his registration papers, he immediately tried to remember what he'd donw qith them. Hmm... he'd picked them up.. turned around... and whacked his head on that wall. The force of it had knocked him out... and that's when Marius was able to take control. Drisk's silver hair had turned black, the green parts turning a bright, glowing orange. Marius had had control for around five seconds, before Drisk recovered from the wall collision and took back control of his body. but after that.... he hadn't had the registration forms. Crap.

While Drisk thought about this he heard laughing inside his head. Okay, what the hell did you do with them?

I'll tell, but it'll cost you
hmm... a sudent's life?
you got it
I'd kick your ass, but you don't have one

After that he heard Rizel state the deal, help her and she'd help him. After hearing it Drisk said "sure, what does it look like?" The papers could wait till later.

Rizel tilted her head in a confused manner as he seemed to lose himself in a memory. Not that he looked goofy he just seemed concentrated on where his papers had gone. When he didn’t answer where his papers were she seemed a bit more confused. That is until he agreed to help her look for her bracelet. What did it look like? How did you explain it?

“Well. It has one circular jewel in the middle and it set in silver. There are kind of… squiggly silver… wires over the jewel and then there are I guess crystal white beads that sort of stick out.”

That was just confusing. Even while Rizel spoke of it she seemed a bit confused. This whole situation was just odd. But then again, if she didn’t find that bracelet she’d have her wings out forever. That never seemed well in a human world such as this.

“It isn’t very big the jewel is about the size of a 20 cent piece… or… a nickel or a 50 piece yen coin.”

She didn’t know where he was from so she wasn’t sure what currency he was used to. She had rambled a bit but it wasn’t really on purpose. Maybe she shouldn’t have thrown that out there. In the process of rambling she’d slid back to look around the floor but not on the couch, though it could have fallen between cushions. None the less she had averted her eyes to the floor, careful not to run over the bracelet with her roller blades, if it be on the floor.

Drisk lowered himself to the floor, his legs sort of shaped like a frogs as he scanned the ground with his eyes. "Well, there can't be that many bracelets just laying around, so it shouldn't be that hard to find." Drisk continued looking, his eyes darting to and fro along the immediate area of the couch. "Oh, and I've sorta noticed that I've been talking alot, but it's just that for one thing, there's been noone..." Drisk bends his pupils up, making it look like he's observing his forehead, "....noone nice to talk to. Also, I seem to not be able to stop blathering about my power, but I haven't really ever had a chance to tell people about it, since where I used to live, well... I got hardly better than death threats for even revealing I had it."

Drisk was about to give up and ask if she might have left it somewhere when he saw a glint of something under the couch. Drisk dropped to his stomach and looked under, sure that far in there he could see something shiny. Drisk took the pebble out of his pocket and thought hmmm.... not enough. He looked around, and directly outside he could see a medium sized rock, the perfect size for what he had in mind. "Just a sec" Drisk said hurriedly, and ran out, picked the rock up, and ran back in. Drisk held both the pebble and the rock, shifting them both into base matter. When their form as a rock was completely gone, Drisk shifted the base matter into an iron pole.

Drisk fell to his gut again, and reached the metal pole under the couch until it hit the shiny thing, which Drisk began to slide out from under the couch. He then held it up in the air and said "is this is?"

((Note: didn't say whether or not the shiny thing was the bracelet, that seemed like your call))

While he spoke, she listened and looked around. Where could the bracelet have gone? She sifted through the couch cushions, avoiding running him over at the same time. With a sigh she almost gave up but still listened to him agreeing here and there. People were somewhat used to her family and thought her wings were just some costume or something, at least before her mother made her the bracelet.

“Yeah, people aren’t so used to Sirens but in New Zealand there are quite a lot, though they don’t usually parade around.”

When he ran outside she was a bit shocked and thought he had given up. He ran away fast too, almost as if trying to get away from her. Boys didn’t usually do that around here, not to her, though she didn’t understand why. Luckily, for both of them, he ran back an she got to witness his power. Her eyes were wide with wonderment.

“Sugoi!”

He was becoming more and more amazing to her so she couldn’t help but say so. As she watched him he bent back down and slid her bracelet out from under the couch. Her hand clasped together in front of her chest. With a gasp and a wide toothy grin she thanked him.

“Thank you so much!”

Skillfully she bent down, sliding with the wheels then setting herself onto the ground in a kneeling position. Her hand slid down and picked up the jeweled bracelet and she slid it on. As soon as the bracelet was on her wrist the wings slowly vanished as if wind had carried them away, back into her body.

Seeing the wings vanish, Drisk assumed that they must have something to do with the bracelet, since they had appeared and disappeared in correlation ((I know that's spelled wrong)) with the loss and subsequent finding of the bracelet. "So" Drisk began, "I guess this means I have to find my papers, doesn't it? Hmm.. just a sec, I have to.. aw to hell with it, I have to argue with someone in my head, I know how completely insane that sounds, but I'll explain it later."

I'll ask one more time politely: where.. are... my... papers?
Ask away, the price never changes
A life isn't worth registration papers!
well, doesn't that depend who's life it is?
No, at some level everyone's life has value
hmmph, you never want to have fun. Oh well, enjoy your time spent out in the cold
It'll be worth it knowing that you're suffering too- Drisk's thought was cut off by a scraping in the back of his leg that he hadn't noticed before. Bending down and feeling the back of his leg, Drisk felt paper bent along the back of his shin, held there by the part that stuck in his sock. Excitedly Drisk grabbed the papers and held them in front of him. Smiling broadly, Drisk said "well, I found the papers. Now before I explain about that whole thing with the arguement in my head, would you mind telling me how to find out my dorm room number?"

It was a good thing that people, like Rizel, had to get used to weird things around here. If she’d have been as new as him she would probably be weirded out. Then again, meta-humans really confused her. Especially with recent news of how they were starting wars and what not. As a young siren she just didn’t understand why humans, meta or not, were so prone to wars and such. When he came to he pulled a couple papers from his… sock?

With a small hand she gently pulled the papers away and looked over them. It was right there on the third page, then again Rizel had picked her own room. With her other hand she pointed out the number as she stepped up to stand next to him. With both hands in the same place she sort of lifted it so he could see it better since he was so much taller than her.

“Right there. If you want a room change or something you can go to the administrations’ office.”

She had another idea. What if he was hungry? Rizel was sure that Kysse had made something amazing to eat recently, and might have leftovers of some sort. Of course she would voice this, even if she were still in roller blades, they could come off.

“Are you hungry?”

Drisk sighed when Rizel pointed out the location of the room number, relieved that his little dilemna was solved. Well, that's one problem off my back

too bad you have many, many more
err... I'm scared to ask, but what do you mean?
well, let's see. We're in a school for those with... special powers, such as yourself
so?
You've seen people at this school. They're a bunch of over-powered jocks looking for a fight. You may have you're little handy-dandy sculpting, but you're not nearly good enough with it for it to be useful in a fight. At some point, you WILL experience heavy damage, either psychologically or physically. And when you do, I'll be there. I'll fill all the little cracks in your head, make what's yours mine. And that will be my finest hour, killing student after student, I can already taste the blood.
umm.... you eat blood?
it was a metaphor, dumbass

Drisk had been shaken by Marius's words. It was true, many of the students here did look like they just wanted to pick a fight. And for a while, Drisk probably wouldn't be all that good in a fight. But not all the students were like that, Drisk knew. Looking slightly downward, he saw proof of that in Rizel. When she asked if he was hungry, Drisk smiled and said "starved".

It may not have been as noticeable as before but Rizel noticed him arguing with his, inner self was it? Whatever, it wasn’t a big deal to her. The guy, Elial, that Kysse talked to all the time was that way too, had an inside person too. Rizel had never met Elial but Kysse had told her about him. This was the same situation though, or maybe different, Rizel didn’t know.

Good, he was hungry. She still had his papers in her hands, sort of as a guarantee that he would follow. But she glided back toward the elevator and quickly pressed the button.

“My room mate is an expert cook, and we have some left overs.”

That’s when Rizel wondered if Kysse had returned to the dorm with out her noticing. That wouldn’t be a problem of course, it’s just Rizel felt as though she wanted Drisk paying attention to her, and she figured that if Kysse were there she would be in the background. This wasn’t a factor of jealousy it was just something that was normal. Not many people looked at both Rizel and Kysse and usually picked Rizel, the only reason being Kysse was beautiful and had an amazing body where as Rizel was just adorably cute.

While she stood at the elevator waiting for it to open she hummed softly and watched the elevator sign that indicated where it was.

Originally, Drisk had said he was hungry just out of politeness, but all of a sudden Drisk felt a large clenching feeling in his stomach. Geez, when was the last time I ate? The clenching persisted and even grew a little. oh yeah... yesterday. Why did I spend the whole day exploring this school?

Cause you're a moron
Just please, shut up. This is one of the first truly nice people I've met at this school, and she seems friendly. So if you so much as utter another thought about wanting to kill, whether you refer to a specific person or the school as a whole, I'll move up the date of the event.
You're all talk, you'd never go through with it.
Correction, I don't want to go through with it. But if I don't get good enough, I'll have to, for everyone's sake.
[censored] you

Walking to the elevator door, Drisk stood by Rizel and heard her humming. It was a pleasant hum, and Drisk felt a happiness over him, making him glad he'd had his dilemna with the room, or he might not have met Rizel. While waiting for the elevator, Drisk turned to Rizel and said "so, being new I don't really have a good grasp of what this school is like. If you were to describe the school, what would you say about it?"

When he arrived next to her in front of the elevator, the doors swung open automatically. It was like he was magic. Her hum stopped as soon as the doors opened, mainly because it was here and also because she felt him being drawn to her, which was a bit odd. Though she knew that a sirens voice did that, she didn’t think it worked at her age. It didn’t matter.

“The school? It’s full of people that are unexplainable. It’s hard to place each one. You could say that some people are weird and some are crazy. No lie, most of the girls are gorgeous beyond belief!”

Rizel looked down at her own small figure; she had quite distaste for her own thin and scrawny figure. Each day her body continued to grow but she was still a small little doll like girl. She would probably continue to be a little girl for the rest of her life, or at least that’s how she felt. She rolled into the elevator by merely pushing herself off the wall behind her, instead of actually using her roller blades.

“What else? It’s a huge melting pot for meta’s mostly. Or it seems like it’s mostly meta’s but you can’t really judge books by their covers, especially here. See, you could just think some little girl is human until BAM! She is a ten foot robot!”

Maybe that was a little dramatic, oh well. With her left hand she pushed the button for the 5th floor and slid back against the hand rail of the elevator.

“Or for instance, there could be a dude that’s all macho or whatever, and he could be the weakest thing you’ve ever met. Then again there are also a lot of humans around as well, and you can hardly even tell them apart from meta’s or other races.”

The fashion sense of some people was off the wall. While Rizel was leaning more toward the doll clothing that suited her appearance so well, such as Lolita, though she didn’t own so much of that clothing, some opted for clothes that cried cosplay. That was normal here, which surprised her. Then others wore clothing from their worlds or cultures, you could pick out foreigners easily, such as Rizel who wore clothes her parents sent her from New Zealand. But this now mixed with stuff Rizel had bought here in Japan, obvious with the bunny vest she was sporting.

Drisk nodded throughout the response, listening to what kind of students inhabited this school of power-houses (and apparently weaklings, from what Rizel was saying). When she was finished, Drisk said "yeah, I've already seen a lot of different types of people here, and I've been here for what, six hours, seven at most. There's someone in a forest who called himself two different names, something like Scream or Yell, some form of scream. Then there was that one guy with the tail, he was nice and gave me some help with my base sculpting, much to Marius's disdain."

"Then there was that one girl who walked into me, fell, yelled at me, did something weird with paper, and stormed off. This place is.... different to say the least. I fear the day someone attends this school for its sense of normalcy."

Drisk felt the sudden stop of the elevator as it reached its destination, and the doors opened with a mechanical hum. Stepping out of the elevator, Drisk said "So..... which way?"
