It was a dark day for ASA. With the great protector, the founder, the powerful elf jedi gone off in wedded ‘bliss’ there was nothing but the students and staff themselves to hold the school together. And the staff? They weren’t all that fantastic. Especially when they started just flat out vanishing. Yes, that should have been the student’s first clue. When a teacher here and there stopped showing up for class, of course the students were typical kids and didn’t report it. After all, who would tell anyone that they weren’t actually getting taught anything? Most kids went home. It started with just one teacher, missing class, then became another, and another, then another. By the time the month was out there was only one teacher left running a class. Mr. Toriyama, a tall man with a slender face, Asian with a deep shining smile with many rows of tiny white teeth. He was still holding regular classes, though the students bothering to attend dwindled in number. It really was a strange time at this academy. Class was in session, every student enrolled that could attend class was in Mr. Toriyama’s room. He stood before the blackboard, chalk in hand, writing up old history words, names and dates forgotten by most. He told the class there would be a test and all manner of normal things. Yes, this was the kind of day that ASA students dreamed of, that parents thought of when they thought of school. Which is probably why, in this world of advanced powers and meta humanity, that things started to go wrong. In the middle of a sentence, explaining the concept of polynomials Mr. Toriyama went straight and ridged, his eyes going wide. He sensed them, found them with his mind as they approached. He barely had enough time to shout “GET TO THE FLOOR!” before the wall behind him, the one with the black board on it, became fractured and destroyed. The very chalk in Mr. Toriyama’s hand became fractured by the sheer force of air that had been blown into the classroom. The teacher coughed and covered his mouth, his powers scanning what had just barged into his room, and he instantly knew fear. Mr. Toriyama reached behind his desk and removed a sword, yes, even at ASA everyone was armed. He held it up as the dust began to clear. As it began to settle the truth became clear. What had broken through the wall was a freak, a monster, one with six clawed legs and muscles on muscles, its skin was a weak pink and its face like a fire burned pig. It was one of the changed, and it was hungry. “Kids! Get out of here!” Shouted the teacher as the beast lunged towards him. The children didnt get to see the battle, no, anyone in the room would have had to shut their eyes from the blast and crumpling of the floor. The entire room slanted and the wall opened up, making a clear path for them to escape into the hallways between classrooms. There of course there were the howls that ate away their comfort, that showed the students and guests that something else was out there, waiting for them. |

The satellite images weren't good. Something was happening at ASA, and neither Flame nor Alastor liked it. Of course Flame was barreling across Domino trying to get to his Alma Mater in a humvee, and Alastor was thinking up and excuse to get out of class. "Please tell me I'm not seeing what I'm seeing," Alastor muttered into his headset, using his patented "no lips moving" speech pattern to communicate while in math. It was boring shit anyway. "You are, those are some sick creatures. I have the hummer fueled and loaded, just get the hell out of class," Flame replied as he rounded a corner and the school came into view. Alastor, meanwhile had finally come up with an idea. Why he kept milk and orange juice in his backpack was anyone's guess, but two cups and about five minutes later he blew chunks all over the girl in front of him. Granted that would have been funnier if he was preoccupied by the disturbing images he'd just seen, but that look on her face as the teacher escorted him to the hall was priceless. Recovering quickly from that little adventure, Alastor quickly ran to his dorm and suited up, in his not-so-super sentai slow method. Those animes were kinda stupid in a way, no one could put on a super suit like that anyway. "What's the problem chief?" Aliyana asked as soon as Alastor had the helmet on. "Some... things are attacking Ankalima Shae. You know what that means." "Hero time," Aliyana sighed. Alastor grabbed his rifle, pistol, and knife before heading out the door. A little later on he was in the back of the Humvee, holding on for dear life while Flame pulled some moves usually only reserved for jet pilots. "Don't you think we'll need backup?" Alastor asked. "No time, we gotta go with what we have," Flame replied. He would have liked more time to prepare, but he was sure he'd be fine with the Oni mask, his M24, helix sword, and Browning. Soon they barreled past the main entrance to ASA, shot through the courtyard, and were bailing out into the main building of the school, ready to blast the shit out of something. |

Derek wasn't ordinarily out playing hooking during school hours. Truancy wasn't writen into his nature and the muses never thought to play upon his delinquent desires enough to script such devious plot devices. Today was different, however. Derek had cut classes to visit a sick friend at ASA, one whom he met over the message boards and befriended out accident more than anything else. Derek wasn't friendly, online or off, but he wasn't necessarily unapproachable either. He had his own comfort zones and his own way he liked them to be stroked, if so or not at all. If someone couldn't interpret them without any due prompts, then they were not worth his time. Likewise, those with intolerable attitudes and general constipated personalities were found excluded outside Derek's emotional walls with a bit of contempt to keep them occupied. This girl – who he knew only as TC – didn't seem anything like that. She was hardly an elitist like so many others Derek had met in his life and she seemed to be genuinely kind and charitable, despite her poor fortune in life. Perhaps, just maybe, the good-natured person inside him – the nice guy he always struggled to keep suppressed at all times – was showing its first signs of life since the loss of Chihiro. Derek shook his head. It wasn't the time for sentimentality. If only he knew how right he was... A wall erupted, spewing chunks of brick his way. On instinct, he threw himself to the floor and covered his head as another violent explosion blew apart one of the nearby classroom. Terrified students quickly scrambled free out of the gaping wound in the wall, racing toward the exits as if their lives were at stake. Faintly, he could hear the sounds of clashing metal rising above and unearthly rumbling and inhuman moans. Dropping the small book he'd bought for TC, Derek let his arm fall limply at his side. His dusky fingertips stiffened as a length of thick, industrial-strength anchoring chain fell free from his right jacket sleeve and clattered to the ground in an uneven pile of rusted steel. Derek had been in the streets and alleys long enough to know that when things were blowing up, it was better to arm yourself first and ask questions later. True, a chain was a rather pathetic weapon, but then again—he was a fairly unorthodox fighter. Although common sense told him to scramble away with the rest of the ASA students, the former super-hero (*cough-sidekick-cough*) in him wouldn't let fear and better judgment sway misplaced bravado at a time like this. "Holy screaming eagles! What...on...earth...is going on here?" He paused and made a sour face. Some of his old side-kick habits hadn't quite dissolved yet, he realized. "...did I just say 'holy screaming eagles'?" |

"Ok, that don't happen everyday." He ran after the hummer that screamed down the road by him. It took him a little longer due to the fact that he kinda lost it, But he found it and a school that seemed to become a wreaking field. "What the ...?" Ren dropped all his stuff, and took off up the school, He manged to get to the main hot zone, Ren stayed around the conner watching. He looked at his shift watch, "Oh well, can't be help, I guess." He taps the watch, a dial started to spin, "7 seconds." Ren nods and closed his eyes. He felt him self shift, including the pain accompanied it. "4 seconds." He could feel himself grow, his bones crush and change into a frame of metal. " Shift complete. clothing saved with no errors..." In his view it looked like he was looking out on T.Vs a number popped up, it held 10%, His brain like a full computer now, it stores data and displays it in ways he never believe he would ever see, His vision turn into a personal set up H.U.D. Ren slowly walked forward, the number started to increase. He need it to hit 100% before he can do anything real. |

Mattie sat in the daily torture that was history class, fighting the urge to slip into a nice, comfortable coma until it was all done. Slumped down over her desk, Mr. Toriyama's voice washed across her like... um... something that washed across people really, really slowly. See? She was so bored she couldn't even think of a good analogy for how bored she was. And that was really, really bored. She should be up on the blackboard as the most bored person in the history of bored people. Since she wasn't, this teacher was clearly incompetent as well as boring. Mattie liked DOING things. Sitting at a desk and listening to someone literally drone on about what OTHER people had done was just about dead last on her list of possible activities. This was about a bunch of people killing each other with swords and armor and stuff. It SHOULD have been interesting, somehow. But put it through the mouth of a history teacher with a hard-on for lecturing, and it turned into... this. “GET TO THE FLOOR!” "A-buh?" Mattie blinked, sitting up a little as she tried to get back to reality. What was happening, now? An exploding wall was happening, apparently. Mattie was blown backwards out of her seat, the chair tipping over as the explosion from the blackboard turned the room into a temporary wind tunnel. Only, you know, without the tunnel. A wind room, if you will. As the debris was settling, Mattie looked up over the top of her desk. There was a monster where the blackboard used to be. A big one. Ugly, too. And apparently it didn't like Mr. Toriyama's lesson plan, either. Mr. Toriyama who had just pulled out a big sword. "Sha-weet." “Kids! Get out of here!” He really should have known that just wasn't going to happen. Not easily, anyway. Especially for someone living so close to the infamous AHS. Mattie had already pulled herself up, planting one foot on top of her desk to give herself a good push-off. She did, moving into a flying kick attack that made for some interesting visuals, given that she was, grudgingly, in her school uniform. The Xena-type yell she let out as she flew through the air likely did nothing to ease the effect. And then a second wall slammed into place between the monster, their teacher, and all the students. Mattie smacked into it and fell unceremoniously to the ground, landing rather painfully on her rear end. "Ow..... FOUL!" She shook her fist at the offending wall that was depriving her of a fight, the other hand rubbing her now-sore buttocks. |

((OOC: To aid reading of this, not only would I point out that it is generally replied to in posting order, but the section partailing to each character has that character's name in bold near the beginning or end of each one.)) Villainy was afoot. The humvee was speeding by, and about to meet something that would easily break it in two or more pieces. It had come right out in front of the vehicle, unafraid and very angry. Like the beast that battled with ASA's teacher it was hideous and strange, unseen before by humanity. What had come to battle this pair of military brats was nothing but the most disgusting creature that could walk on four legs. Yes, it was on four legs, with rippling pink flesh, not an unnatural pink but one similar to that of a pig. Its hind legs were short, frumpy, while its front legs were two of the beefiest limbs ever seen. They were Liefieldian in proportion. The face was scrunched up, with wide frontal cheeks that held deep groves that went downward, similar to that of a bulldog. They certainly served the same purpose, any blood that would come from its head would simply roll down and not block its vision or get inside its mouth. The creature let out a roar, a breathtaking round of speech that tore open the ear drums of anyone next to it, a roar that made it clear that this best believed it was unstoppable. The creature went up on its hind legs, the delicate bits somehow holding up its weight and proportion. It had a long body, about the size of a full grown lion or tiger, but what was to be feared was by far the claws that grew out of the front legs. They were long, black, growing out around every digit that was there. The claws were embedded in the cement grounds, but more importantly, when the beast rose up to strike they were going right for the humvee, and had more then enough force to shred the metal into tiny pieces. That was certainly dangerous for Alastor and Flame. In the hallways of the classroom it was something different. It started off down in an opposing classroom, opening up the door and stalking forward. Heavy feet slamming against the floor. It had footsteps of thunder. It was red, deep red, with veins that stretched hidden beneath the skin, all around vibrating through the flesh, forcing blood faster through its body. The creature was smaller then the one out front, it was sleeker, with long lanky arms and legs, moving with a slinking motion, hiding as best it could its powers and strengths. Hiding it for there was no victim before it to slaughter and feast on. Yes, thats why this one marched, Red was starving, he hungered for sweet succulent flesh. Believe it or not, human flesh was starting to become his favorite. It was part of its face that crawled into view of Derek first. They were tendrils, sticking, crawling, wiggling tendrils of red flesh that swung around into view a brief moment before the rest of the beast arrived. It swung around, smiling as only an unnatural beast with a taste for flesh could smile, a hidden mouth lost behind the tendrils that were before it, like a living veil. It's eyes were black, without pupils, though anyone could feel its twisted burning gaze locked solely on Derek. It slithered towards him, the tendrils before its mouth growing longer, the flesh of each one offering resistance akin to suffered steel. The widths of each tendril was no more then an average man's wrist, but they would certainly be enough. Three of them now went for Derek, one trying to snatch each leg, and one going straight to his neck. A robot? Really a robot form. Oh well, there were odder things. For Ren had his own villain to deal with in this strange event. It too came with a screech, awakened by the deathly roar that encumbered those in the humvee. In the air there was a beast, though clear in skin and flesh, showing off it's precious organs inside it, the creature was hard to see between random flashes of lightning. This particular creature was surrounded by crackling yellow lightning. It seems it had quite a different system for its neurological networking. Instead of a centralized brain, the lines that provided electrical charges were distributed all through the beast's body. Because of this system constant extra electrical energy was discharged around it. What we end up with, is a lightning bird. A lightning bird that fluttered around Ren, dropping bolts of energy towards his system. They started off harmful enough, a blast going right for his head, but as well as two that glanced through the sky coming down to wrap around his body in a dangerous or...if you will...a shocking hold on him. Oh yes, puns. One cannot escape at least a single pun. What kind of beast awaited Mattie one might ask. Oh certainly she was a walking disaster, and anyone around would certainly know that. Fate it seemed was a bit of a dick, sending creatures out that would actually be a good weakness for those that they battled. This was clear once before, and would become even more clear later on. For the living, breathing disaster zone however, something far simpler was sent to battle her. It was small, hunched over in the corner. A tiny furry little critter, its fur was a docile combination of brown, black and gray. It looked up at Mattie, seemingly coming out of no where and sitting down next to her. It had wide yellow eyes, and a long green tongue. At first glance it would appear to be some form of tiny monkey. However this one had a few tricks up its sleeve. Speaking of sleeves, the tiny creature scooted along the ground closer to the girl, making a mixture of happy and scared chirping noises. A tiny black hand with even smaller claws, the kind for climbing of course, reached out to snag the girl's shirt sleeve. The tiny monkey like creature was planning to climb up to the girl's shoulders. After all it was an adorable furry creature. Young females cannot deny adorable furry critters! Spot was proof of this. These creatures varied greatly in size, shape, abilities and mentality. But they had a few things in common. They had all come from the same place, once having lived together every day and every night. A single being had taken them and turned them into the widely varied beasts that were striking the students now. They also fought better then beasts should. This was obviously, because right now they were being controlled, being told which impulses and instincts to indulge. Edited by Mr. Trout, Jun 12 2008, 10:06 PM.

The first response was always fear, augmented only by the horrendous sights of something monstrous that even Derek's worst nightmares hadn't the imagination to create. A lumbering heap of quivering flesh, each of its limbs more powerful than any muscle in Derek's body, matched with a grinning squid-like apparatus for a face; could such things truly exist? As if the hammering footfalls weren't enough to make a man's resolve melt away like warmed butter, the thing had the audacity to look up from around the corner it slinked from and smile the most unnatural smile Derek had ever seen in all his years of crime fighting, the subsequent six-month stint into villainy, and whatever lucid daydreams he dared recall. He didn't even get the chance to utter a curse under his breath before the thing launched a surprise attack on him and left Derek struggling to break from the grip of intense fear and act. With tentacles racing toward him and only the breadth of seconds to spare, Derek's golden eyes flickered with the faint trace of insight before the instinct for survival took the keys and started to drive. He jumped. He didn't know why he did it, but he took a quick skip backwards and effectively thwarted one of the pinkish serpent's attempt to ensnare his right leg but the left felt a snag as he took airborne, causing him to unintentionally topple backwards not too unlike having one's leg clipped out from under while in mid-fall. However, the one poised to claim his throat would undoubtedly take him faster than he could react—had he not thrown all of his weight in reverse and tossed his head back as he jumped. He was being overpowered; this was an undeniable fact considering his only real fighting experience was in brawling human opponents until the last man standing. Against an unearthly foe such as this one, especially a monster armed with some unusual facial projectile-whips, Derek was pathetically overwhelmed before the fight ever started. This was the worst kind of enemy he could face, one he couldn't counter with his chain and one that could attack him at a distance, making his close-ranged 'rooting' ability virtually useless. As he careened back in a hasty lunge away from the final tentacle he realized exactly how futile an action he'd taken, as the thing's reach seemed to expand forever in search of him. He could even feel its sickening lust as it neared the tip of his chin. "CRAP!" he shouted, doing the only thing he could in the seconds that ticked by slower than molasses. He used the only weapon he had. Back home, the loyal chain he wore had been his shield and savior on multiple occasions. And because of this, Derek had unbelievable skill in wielding something so simple—abilities many wouldn't even believe when seen with their very own eyes. That was why he considered himself an unorthodox fighter. He quickly spun his chain tightly around his fist until it settled there like some sort of heavy metal gauntlet, gave himself to the freefall, and pivoted as hard as he could, slamming his fist into the underside of the fleshy tendril with all of his might before he clumsily tumbled to the floor on his side. He swore something unheard as wrestled to shove the tentacles away and tried scramble to his feet to no avail. "What the—" He couldn't get the tentacle from around his ankle! This wasn't good at all. "Man, I gotta be the ONLY black guy I know who doesn't own a gun...and one would really come in handy right about now instead of the stupid chain...crap...CRAP! What the hell IS that thing?" |

Ren looked around, Power at 70%, Ren step back, Zeessp. Ren feel forward, he groaned. That hurt, a lot, all a suddenly everything when fuzzy, static white static, he had this happen once. He called it snow, it happens when electricity or a EMP interferes with his systems. He layed there not moving, the arcs of lightning surrounded him. His green eyes dimmed out. no.. He thought. I'm not going to die, not here, NOT HERE! A box popped up from the blackness, Adaptation program running. Ren's eyes flashed once, then flash again staying on, Power 110%, Ren stands, "I'm going to kill you!!!" Came a loud booming voice from Ren's mech form. The bird lowered, electricity arced from it. Lightning arced from it again, Ren runs then jumps His legs tuck under him his right arm brought back ready for a massive punch.... |

"Whoah shit! Bail bail bail! Flame shouted as he tried to swerve away from whatever the hell that thing was. He kicked the door to the vehicle and jumped out, rolling away from the carnage. Likewise, Alastor jumped out the open... trunk just in time. He had his rifle ready, but really, that thing had a face only an equally ugly mother could love. Even then she probably tossed that guy into a dumpster, only compounding his ugliness. "Dammit! The insurance company will never believe this!" Flame shouted, looking at the wreckage of his Hummer. How he even began to be able to pay for insurance for that, well you can probably guess. "All right, now I'm angry," he muttered, reaching into his messenger bag and pulling out the Oni Mask. "He's going postal," Alastor commented as he dragged out and loaded his XM8. "Hey ugly! Over here!" he shouted at the monster to get its attention. Now if that thing was able to rip right through a Humvee, which in retrospect isn't that hard to do, he didn't want to be under those claws. "I'm boosting your adrenaline," Aliyana commented. "Don't get us killed." "Wouldn't dream of it," Alastor replied before shouldering his gun and firing off two three-round bursts at the creature's eyes. Blood from anywhere else might not blind it, but lets see how it handles bullets to the eyes. Meanwhile Flame had finished the transformation, his body having grown a little and gained the distinctive Oni armor, tattoos, and frightful white blank eyes. Even still there was anger in them and the rest of him, and anger that could only be sedated by blood, and lots of it. With Helix sword in hand, Oni Flame charged, letting out a battlecry that matched the creature's in intensity, if not volume. He went straight for the atrophied legs, considering that if they couldn't hold the creature up then it wouldn't be able to move so quickly. |

Fear. Dread. It was the easiest way to win a fight. When your opponent gives in to despair, they have already lost. All it took then, was to scare them, to convince them they had no hope. This was the tactic these beasts were trying to use on all the victims of this incident. Pity they were not especially good at it. Oh the creatures were trying certainly. Like the one that held Derek which gleed inwardly as it took him by the ankle. It did the only remotely intelligent thing it could with him by the ankle, it started to pull. The plan was to drag him all the way to the body, yes, the beast's greedy little mouth was drooling over the prospect of cracking open his body and feasting. This should not sound very odd to anyone who wasnt human, after all humans really were the perfect snack food. Human beings are mostly water. Their tissues and fluids retain flavors and other residues from their food. Their bones have a brittle quality. Their skin is warm and pliant. Thirst-quenching, well-seasoned, crunchy and yet chewy. Yes, the perfect snackfood. And with over six billion such snacks on the planet at any time, there is no threat of running out. With one tentacle coming in to bring the human closer, the others went crawling around the ground, closer to the unfortunate boy. They were coming now to hold his hands and other leg, to keep them from spinning and to aid in the pulling. If that however, did not seem to inside fear. Then one should take another look at the beast that was performing this action. To see the air around it's face and mouth shatter, wave, crumble all at once. No it was not a gateway into madness. It however was a very corrosives and dangerous gas. It breathed for a second onto the wall it had been leaning around. The wall melted and crumbled down to nothing before their very eyes. A massive punch? Ren was trying the superman tactic here? It was something even a slow moving bird of thunder could avoid. This one did. It waited of course, a predictable jump punch coming up at it, the beast waited until the fist was close and rolled to the side. As the beast rolled the electric charges flooded beneath it, sending arcs of electricity and lightning towards the body that was going past it. There was however one giant problem with this creature and its abilities that should be noted with great importance. It was not insulated against all the heat and energy it was producing. As it battled, it was slowly cooking all the internal organs it possessed. It would take a while still before the beast started to die. For now though, it was enough of a foe for Ren. Alastor and Flame were doing quite a bit better. The bullets that were fired against their foe did slam into the eyes, and did in fact blind the creature. No one said that was a fantastic thing though. The eyes were the creature's only full weakspot. The blade that came for the leg simply wouldnt cut through it. No matter how it appeared the beast's skin, meat and bones were simply too strong to be even nicked, even diamond magic blades would only be as good as sticks towards it. The beast was now blind, and what it had done earlier simply out of want for food, it now did out of anger, hate and blind pain. The creature raged and slammed its own giant fists into the ground, causing what could only be described as a minor earth quake. The ground of course shook and was upheaved at certain points. You guessed it, going to where the creature smelled its own two opponents. It wanted nothing more now then simply to kill them. Yes, death to the creatures that had cost it its own eyes! |

Slick, stringy and firm is what it felt like. The grass under the shade of the trees underneath his feet still had the dew on it, and it felt wonderful against his bare feet. He had taken his shoes off and the black dress sock afterwards, stuffing them hastily into the toes of his wingtips. His dark brown slacks swung just above the reach of the grass, wavering back and forth just slightly from the soft breeze. His white button down shirt was neither tucked or buttoned, and caught the breeze, welling back and falling forward again, his plain white t-shirt underneath had a stain just above the right hip from where he had spilled a drop of pizza sauce on it. It was shocking to even see Josh in a school uniform, having just barely worn it while he was a student. That was never his style, the student type. He had nothing against knowledge, he just enjoyed the simple things more. So whenever he had the chance Josh would abdicate away from books. Of course, that was two years ago, when he knew who he was. Now... Now was different. He couldn't rely much on what he used to know, and even if he could, he was twenty-one years old without a high school education. Sometimes riding with the flow just made sense. Of course, when he did decide to go to class they had been cancelled. It was like a sign from the heavens above, and why waste such a wonderful day anyhow? After seeing the sign on the classroom door he went straight out of the grounds to ensure no one would be able to call him back. Just as he was going to put his shoes back on he felt a slight shiver in the ground. *Odd...last I checked we don't live on a fault line.* He turned in a circle, surveying the area. Nothing in the immediate area was in trouble, and he thought of just leaving. He bent down to grab his socks, but his curiosity got the better of him. *Maybe I'll just go up a little and check it out from a higher vantage point.* he reasoned with himself *Can't hurt to make sure.* He floated up into the air at a lazy and cautious pace, moving forward and setting himself upon the tallest tree's highest branch. Everything went silent, his bare feet couldn't feel the rough bark, and his heart seemed to miss a beat as he focused all his senses on seeing what was going on towards another group of buildings. Traces of dust were filtering out of a classroom window, but the dust inside was still to thick to see clear details. There was a struggle going on inside though. Unconciously Josh picked up another couple meters into the air and looked over the grounds where gouts of dirt and debris had been flung up into the air. There a grotesque creature was pounding away at the ground with two other humans very close by. His eyes fell back to it's normal sight as Josh pushed himself into flight. His shirt rippled at the speed of his acceleration, and the tails cracked hard, sending a small tear along the outer edge, but the shirt still stayed draped around his shoulders. He was at the broken vehicle within three seconds, throwing all of his momentum and weight behind his right fist as he struck out at the things lower jaw. As it connected he winced in pain, the thing was thicker then it's fleshy looks gave it credit for. After the hit the metal lining his bones still reverberated, shaking his forearms so hard it created greenline fractures up and down his ulna. Brute force wasn't the best option for this creature. "You two would be better off, and of more use, against whatever is inside. I'll take care of this thing." |

And, as she sat on the floor, ministering to her injured backside, Mattie was suddenly and viciously assaulted by... a monkey, it seemed. Which had the terrible and destructive tactic of climbing her shoulders. Directed these genetic mishmashes might be, but whoever was directing them clearly didn't know Mattie very well. Regardless of whatever the monster might be about to do, it was still a monkey. Anything horrifying it might be capable of would only increase it's awesomeness in Mattie's eyes. "..... Monkey?" Mattie stared for a moment, as the classroom-destructing... chimpanzee... climbed up her shoulder and clung there. "OHMYGOD, MONKEY!" She spun a little, trying to glomp something that was clinging to the back of her shoulders. Despite her great skills in the art of Huggle-Fu, this particular target eluded her. Stupid physics. "So kyooooooooot..." |

Ren landed, heavily at that fact, the ground cracked at the area that he landed. Power at 100%. He took note of that little counter, He thought for a moment. Wait, he was about to finish that thought when he was hit with electricity, It blew him across the ground. He slides to a stop. "Auggg..." he said in a low tone voice, Adaption complete, running changes. Ren stands, the armor molded forward over his hands then jetted out like a spike, then a rod jetted out of his left shoulder. at first he didn't know what to do with the changes then it hit him. He can redirect the electricity, Even send it back and maybe over charge this strange bird. "Hit me! Come one and hit me!" he yells. then readies himself. |

"Thanks man!" Alastor shouted to the newcomer as he dodged the enraged creature's attacks. It now seemed hellbent on turning him into a pink splatter on the ground. Alastor particularly didn't want that, so he dragged Oni Flame away from the creature and beat a hasty retreat into the building. Inside, Alastor simply said, "I'm going this way," before taking off down a hall. Oni Flame, still thirsty for blood, traveled off down a different hall, following screams he heard. Of course it was just a stupid human, caught up in the sinister tendrils of a tentacle monster looking about ready to enjoy a tasty, and no doubt nutritious, snack. Of course, you know what exposed tentacles and a BFS means, right? Yep, slashy slashy. Oh he didnt do it to help the puny boy screaming his head off, he did it to fuck up the monster. All he said, in an ethereal voice that overlaid his normal voice, to the boy was, "Get your head in the game! I do not save people, I kill destructive forces." With that he continued to attack the monster with the impunity only a demon could offer. |

Ahh the final days of school here at ASA. Summer was on the horizon and as such the excitement was only building throughout the school. However summer or not it was still another day of school and it was to be treated as such. So Rashaun O’Neal and his massive frame and incredible height had crawled out of his bed early as always and began the morning with his typical jogging and early morning weight lifting session. Than quickly showering off and changing into his ASA uniform Rashaun grabbed his book bag, which looked rather funny considering how small it was compared to Rashaun, and than made his way out of the door and to his first class, History by Mr….um okay Rashaun still didn’t know the guy’s name but that was against the point. His huge body walking through the hall he definitely stuck out. I mean one he was one of the few black people in Japan, and two he was one of the tallest and largest people in the school. His body sulked into his classroom ducking under the doorway and taking his typical seat in the very back of the room. He was the first student in the room again it seemed. That had happened to him a lot lately it seemed. For a while now he had been the first one to enter and apparently the last one to leave for everyone of his classes. Now that he thought about it he hadn’t seen any of his teachers in a while, odd but he. Due to it being the end of the year Rashaun had given up on trying not to fall asleep and as such he decided to begin his ritual early today. Placing his book bag to the side his large body collapsed on the desk showing a quite a few cracks on it no doubt endured throughout the year form his large sleeping frame and within seconds he was out cold quietly sleeping the class away. He had learned not to snore as to avoided being caught even though he almost always was due to the fact he was hard to miss in a classroom. Still he slept as quietly as can be as the time continued ticking away Rashaun still completely oblivious to the fact his teacher had disappeared quite a while go as had all of his teachers. The other students had just taken the periods off however Rashaun due to sleeping through the classes never actually realized he could do that. See it does pay to stay awake after all. Well there was only so much screaming and yelling and crashing and whatnot before even the deepest of sleepers like Rashaun finally woke up. With a yawn the large man stretched out his arms and stood up grabbing his bag. He instinctively always woke up when it was time to leave and as such didn’t even bother looking at the clock he just made his way out of the classroom noting that he was yet again the only in there. Strange, very strange, maybe the teacher had started letting people out early? Rashaun was left to wonder it seemed as, sleepily, his large form stumbled into the hall and turned to go to his next class. However his eyes widened as he took in the sight of what was down the hall. Monsters, student’s in peril, screaming crashing, and a monkey on his “best friend’s” shoulder. Things were indeed a mess. Instinctively he ran towards his friend to get information. His large form moving at amazing speed the amazing athletic ability he held as prominent as ever his muscle bound form running in perfect form and stride. Now on second thought going to Mattie for information probably wasn’t the best idea but after seeing this disaster going on Rashaun wasn’t exactly thinking straight. His form came to a halt at Mattie. He looked down at the short girl the great difference in their appearances truly laughable as Rashaun spoke his deep powerful votive showing nervousness and confusion his eyes watching the monkey ever closely, “Uh…Mattie…what the hell’s going on?” |

The meaty monster roared again. It really didnt like being punched. Seriously, if Josh had gotten punched like that, he'd probably be running around all day shouting 'motherfucker' with a bandaged jaw. In fact, most people would do that, or end up eating through straws for a very long while. The monster however, just got really really bothered. That and well, the beast ended up getting knocked upwards, and looking like it would fall on its back. Luckily it twisted on the way down and landed on its feet. Or unluckily if that is how you want to think about it. It really didnt like switching opponents but, what were you going to do? It twisted around on the ground, its jowls lifting and spreading as its flat, ugly nose huffed the air. It was blind now and needed to rely on it's sense of smell and hearing alone, which wouldnt have been much of a problem had it been fighting gun oil and smoke covered loud mouths. Josh though, it reacted slowly, whatever was pulling the strings wanted it to fight right, and right now it didnt know what right was. The creature lunged forward at the arriving hero, swinging its right paw in a long swipe. It was a cheap attempt to hit, but it was the easiest way to start testing his skills. Curses! Mattie was using the ancient, unstoppable and forbidden technique of huggle-fu! The great master Snu-gal would be aghast that such a thing could occur! That his secret techniques could be used so light heartedly. The 'monkey' however was not a trained combatant in huggle-fu, so was doing it's best to avoid being squished. That was good and all, but it also had a job to do. It was there to keep Mattie from helping out the other people! So the brave little fuzzy critter scurried up onto her shoulder and opened it's cuddly creature mouth. The long green tongue snaked out, heading towards Mattie's ear. It was coated in a natural, very strong hallucinogenic. That's right, the plan was for a cute fuzzy monster to make Mattie as batshit crazy and believe in pink elephant ho-ho rolls as possible. Ren had formed a good plan to battle the electro-bird thing. Not bad, not bad at all. The electric flier could get a general idea of what the pointing metal protruding bit was, since it obviously wasnt shooting laser beams at it, it had to be something to help it in a fight. The creature took a different tactic then. Spreading its lightning out farther, striking at the building carving out a large chunk of brick, concrete and whatever the hell else school walls were made out of to make them smell that way. It was quite a burst of energy, to carve out that portion of the wall. The bird hung in the air above this for a moment. It had used too much electricity already and was starting to feel it. Instead of exploding or reaching any horrible urges, the bird instead vomited. Yes, it puked up right over mecha Ren and the falling wall. Not exactly an attack but it wasnt pleasant at all. Sadly Oni Flame wasnt doing that much when striking the tentacle portions with his sword. No matter how hard you hit them, you might as well be using a bat. They just went 'whump' and slid slightly out of the way. The creature though, now took notice of the little 'demon man' running around smacking at it's tentacles. That wasnt exactly fun at all. So it did the only fair thing to even the playing field. It's mouth opened and it spewed forth darkness. Sticky, thick, unending darkness filled the hallway. Obfuscating the world around and forcing humanoid beings of any kind to find a new way to use their senses. The only thing that was true, was every once in a while, through the darkness, the glowing red eyes faded in, and out. Alastor would find the hallway he had chosen blocked. It was large, pink, pulsating globulates. A cancerous growth that bound in all directions filling the hall with it's presence and it's stench. It was a foul scent like rotten corpses filled with eggs and the final dying breaths of a garlic eater's convention. The pulsating grew and grew towards Alastor, before a bubble began forming on that edge, a bubble that quickly popped. What came out was a swarm, tiny green imps no bigger then a bee were swarming forward out of the popped bubble, all with an interest in nothing but murdering the attempted hero. The monkey's natural hallucinogens werent going to work on Rashaun if he saw what was happening to Mattie, so there needed to be something else to stop him. Instead the answer came dripping down from the ceiling. Literally. Tiny blue green droplets fell down, one at a time towards the hulking...um...hulk? At least it started with only a few drops. Pretty soon the roof of that little classroom caved in on the edge, letting the great mass of the droplets come down. They were really parts of a single gelatinous blob monster. A crazy little blob monster that already held several desks, mathbooks and for some reason cafeteria fish sticks inside its clearly defined intestinal track. It lurched towards Rashaun hoping nothing more then to devour him today as well. |

The beasts roar wasn't just obscenely loud, but was packed with bass. The very sound of it shook his chest, it was things like that which made Josh so amped in a fight. While the creature was in the air Josh's left arm started to glow a golden-yellow light. He vaguely heard someone say something, but didn't catch what it was that they had actually stated. He just nodded, keeping his eyes on his target. He was coming into this fight with little to no intel, and no information on his opponent, and he didn't know if this thing was a speedster or what. The single thing he did know about the beast was that it was strong and thick. Strong enough to shake the earth, and thick enough to create small breaks along his arm. He could still feel his arm repairing itself, the bone slivers fusing back together to the bone itself, the marrow was leaking into the cracks and firming his arm. That was the reason he ate so much, his body needed those nutrients to keep itself going. As the creature landed, that glow along Josh's arm had flushed down to the palm if his hand, intensifying in how brightly it shone. He had noticed the sunken depths were it's eyes used to be, and he took advantage of that time when the creature had to re-orient itself to his scent. The glow of his palm had coalesced into a ball that clung to his skin through lines of energy. The creature was huffing the air, trying to lock onto his scent, and Josh assumed it was intently listening for a footstep. Unfortunately it wouldn't hear a thing, because Josh was suspended just a couple of inches above the air, his toes just tickling the tops of the grass. During the lapse in time, the summoner grabbed the ball of energy with his other hand and started pulling. It was a risky move, because the sound of snapping electricity followed, easily giving away his position. He flexed his back, pulling the ball apart from his palm until the strings of energy snapped. The ball faded in a sprinkling of sparks, hitting the upturned dirt. The creature was already moving in on him, with one of it's monstrous swings. Josh stood with his body relaxed in spite of that, he was no boot to combat and his riposte was already there, rushing in from the beasts flank. The creatures long swipe was it's mistake, it wasn't quick enough to reach Josh. Before it could a large golden lion had attached itself to the appendage. Leonal had set it's massive jaws around the lower forearm, both forepaws dug into either side, raking their way down in an attempt to shred the muscle from whatever bone tissue was holding the beasts structure up. The lions mane was bristled up and it's eyes were looking glued to its corners, keeping a watch on the beast for retaliation. Adding Leonal to the fight allowed Josh to start on a more important task, namely trying to figure out what was going on. He was sure there were more people in the school building now, and the top priority would be getting into communication with them. He needed to concentrate if he was going to create a psychic net that included all of the students fighting in engagements. *What happened to the security here...* Josh wondered as he tucked his legs underneath him, setting his rear on his ankles while kneeling in the air. He exhaled a few deep breathes and started to touch the other minds, setting the ground base for his net. There were differing difficulties of gaining entry, the easiest was Mattie a human, that's who he would start with. Josh closed his eyes and let the two animals, one bestial the other regal fight. "Mattie." Josh's lips moved to the sound of the word, but his voice didn't sound. Instead she would hear a whisper in her mind. "Could you tell me what's happening at your school?" |

"Auggg....Dam Bird!!!" He exclaimed, He grabbed the biggest chuck of the building that he could pick up with one arm that fell off, He shook his hand then Sent the piece of concrete at the birds head. That bird going to die now. He had another concrete ready just encase that bird dodged it. |

Okay, a crazy lion monster came out of no where to beat on the other...angry monster that had been there fighting students. Not a bad thing, especially since if the two's fight continued there wouldnt be much of one of them to fight again. The beast gave one last howl as it started it's own blind battle with the summoned lion. Those powers that Josh had were quite strange. When Josh came into the classroom with Mattie and the rest, the monkey that was clinging to her dashed it's own large eyes and the new student. Yeah, it was afraid of him. His very presence intimidated the small mammalian creature more then it should. The lightning bird that Ren was battling did not dodge the first chunk of concrete. In instead hit in square in the chest, causing it to let out an angry screech. It was knocked out of the very sky and landed on the ground in a huff. It wasnt dead, far from it, the beast pushed off the concrete, shook the dust out of what acted as feathers and stared down directly at Ren. It was far from pleased about this. Which is probably why it decided to attack him right back. The beast scratched its feet against the ground, again and again, gaining up quite a charge before sending forth every shocking bit of energy, straight at the robo man. |
