The full moon that we had this night was beautiful, just like that of any other. It pushed darkness away into the alleys and showered everything with its pale light. Due to its position, one could well guess it was beyond midnight and therefore the lonely figure in the middle of the night was pretty out of place. The silouhette of a child, dressed in clinic robes, slowly strode its wade across the empty streets of the Domino Residential District. It's hard to tell if it's a boy or a girl, the moonlight hitting the figure from behind covered any noticiable features. And the pale light of the moon only accentuates deeper on her whitish skin of the slender youth. The shadow the child casts was twice as large as he or she actually was. Gamma: "Those people said it was this way... but it seems to take forever to get there..." Her voice is soft and female. The pale girl was refering to AHS, her destination. Someone she barely knew had told her to go there, that she'd be safe once she was there. She trusted this person, even if there was no name or even a face. All she had was the image of a round sphere and a soft femenine gently voice. Her hopes rested on the possibility that this woman was the moon that engulfed her with its light right now. No, she was conviced of that, as a matter of fact. She had been walking for about an hour now, but she was sure she was headed in the right direction. Some gentle people, some drunkards, had pointed into her in this direction, and therefore she was on her path. Her constitution might not hint it, but she she's able to withstand such hardships as walking across the entire city of Tokio just to reach her goal. On the distance, something moves quickly towards her. It was a speeding car, but since she's got no experience with such things, Gamma only recognized the vehicleas a large machine and found herself paralyzed on the spot. This wasn't good since she was walking in the middle of the street at that precise moment. The car's driver, a drunk young adult, takes little heed on the perplex girl and drives directly into her. Any human would have surely died on such an accident, most metas would have escaped the thing, certainly. But Gamma didn't know what a car was, and therefore acted completely on impulse, which was not doing anything at all. The car crashed full speed into the girl and she flew in the opposite direction the car had come from. As waking neighbors ran to their windows to see the events outside, they felt dumbfounded. The car's cockpit rested destroyed as if it had hit a round object, like a thick pillar or a rock. The driver luckily enough had suffered nothing else besides a good shock that cured his booze inflincted dizziness. If watched carefully in the instant replay, one would see a brilliant sphere surrounding the girl's body and absorbing entirely the impact from the speeding car. It appeared for just a second, but it was there. As more people come out of their houses to watch the car, their attention falls on Gamma, who is about ten feet right in front of the vehicle. She apparently unharmed and even standing up again. Gamma: "That's not a thread, ok. I get it. But I won't run into one of those again." Her words shocked those who were close enough to hear them. The pale girl simply dusted herself off, and approached those people who were closer. Being most of them metas as well, they were not all that shocked of these deeds they had seen, just that her words had caught them off guard. Gamma: "Mind telling me how much is it to get to Anime High School, please?" |

((OOC: Oh finally, I've been looking for an open thread for days now. I also realize I don't really have the longest, best quality, or even readable posts, so please feel free to boot me from this thread faster than a bot on most forums. BTW, I couldn't help but notice that the description says both the title of a what almost seems like a series, and also says open. This makes me wonder if it's open to anyone, or just those who signed up in an OOC thread before-hand?))Drisk walked down the streets of Domino Town's Residential District, wave after wave of depression hitting him, almost an ocean of depression that refused to dwindle. The cause of this depression was the incident at the gym from a few days ago, still haunting him despite the lack of any real casualties. He'd heard that trhe two people Marius had injured were recovering in the hospital, that was good. Marius had failed in his goal to kill, but why does it feel so much like he succeeded at something else? Great thought Drisk, now I'm becoming paranoid. Is this really what school is meant to be for me? Either a normal school where I'm constantly persecuted, or a school where metas are accepted, but Marius has many opportunities to take control. I guess I'm moving straight ahead to my plan B. The only problem with Drisk's plan B is that it required strong rope, which Drisk hadn't learned to base sculpt yet, and knowing how to tie a noose, which Drisk had yet to do. True plan B seemed extreme, but it was also a definite solution. To ensure that no one else got hurt, Drisk would have to die. These were the thoughts that lingered inside Drisk, and seemed to give Marius pleasure, though not to the extent he'd experienced that day in the gym. All of those thoughts stopped momentarily when Drisk witnessed the car strike the figure, and was dumbfounded when that figure then appeared to be unharmed. Some perks of being meta-human... Drisk ran to a spot around ten feet from the figure, and when it asked a very... odd sounding question, something that sounded like a question of how much it cost to get to Anime High, Drisk realized the figure was a teenage girl. Approaching her, Drisk asked "ummm... are you sure you're alright?" |

Her language was not the best there was, sure. Speaking a lot was something new to her, let alone speaking a lot to lots of people. She had meant how much 'till' she got to the already mentioned famous school for metas, but she had managed it to sound a bit different. The people mused at her comment and some even laughed at her. It was ok, she didn't care. She had been called names and moffed about since her earliest memories. "ummm... are you sure you're alright?" Nonetheless one of those among the crowd came up to her, and spoke. He maybe have had not a clue on who she was but he had asked about her well being, anyway. Apart 'The Moon', noone had ever done such a thing, ever. It felt nice. Really nice. Tilting her head slightly to the left, she looked him right in the eyes. If judging simply by how she looked, one would ahve never told she had just had a car crash into her. Gamma: "Yes, I am." Her answer had been short, but practical. It was true, as well. She was not used to express herself completely to others, maybe that was why she had answered that way, too. But... What would you expect of someone whose language had practically reduced to yelling from indescriptible amounts of pain? Some people had already returned to their houses, others helped the youth trapped in the car who was more of a show than actually watching a girl barely dressed and a weird looking boy. One last group, as always, had called for the domino police. Apparently this was the calmer side of the meta city, where non-combatant or peaceful metas lived. As sirens echoed in the distance, Gamma's eyes turned in that direction and became widder. The sirens she had heard before The Moon had sent her to this place had followed her! There was no way they'd take her back to that place. The Moon had said she'd come for her to AHS... or something like that. She would not let the sirens take her back! Never! Gamma: "Come!" It was a desperate measure, but it was her only choice. Grabbing the boy by the left arm, she dived thru the little group of people that was still around them and the accidented vehicle... and lead him into the lawns of the nearest houses, running from being seen by the so called sirens. Her grasp was strong, unlikely to that of a girl her build. After running thru a couple of backyards, bordering a pool and jumping over a fence, the pale girl came to a complete sudden stop. Despite the recent rush, she was not even breathing heavily, not even breaking a sweat. As well as with the car, she was used to things way worse than that... much much worse. Turning around to meet the boy in the eyes again, her clinical robe slightly revealed her shoudler. Wth all the running they had just had, it had kinda opened more than it should have. Being her figure so thin, so undeveloped, there was not much to see anyways. Her eyes were still wide open, just like she had heard the sirens some minutes ago. Gamma: "Anime High School! Do you know where it is?! Can you get me there?!" Her voice denoted how anxious she was, could still hear the sirens in the distance. Edited by katzkat1083, Jun 21 2008, 08:46 PM.

Drisk was slightly in shock from the odd events that had just occured. Drisk had asked about whether the girl was alright, and her reply had been yes. Then the situation started to die down, some people had started going back into their houses, but one of the bystanders had called the police about the collision. When the sirens were audible, the look on the firl's face changed, her eyes becoming wider, she said something that sounded like go, and without warning grabbed Drisk's arm. That was the point when it started to just be a blur to Drisk. They went through lawns, winding through them quickly, and finally over a fence. Drisk was still dazed from that little "detour" and when the girl turned to face him and asked if he knew where AHS was, it took a few seconds for him to respond. "Yeah, I'm a student there. I'll get you there if you answer one question: why were you running from those police, and why did you have to drag me along with you?" |

"Yeah, I'm a student there." Those words brought relief into her soul. He was a student there! Great! A student! ... What was a student? ... Anyways, he surely knew where it was located, right? "I'll get you there if you answer one question: why were you running from those police, and why did you have to drag me along with you?" It was quite a deal. She knew about deals, as well, from her imprisonment. She willingly enter the machine and she'd eat... if she didn't she wouldn't. It was simply a matter of give-give policy. The first question caught her off guard. She gazed deeply into the fence they had just jumped. Police? What was that? Was it the name of the people back at the building? Maybe it was the name of the torture machine she had seen earlier that day? Or perhaps it was it the name of the sirens she heard? Yeah, that last one sounded a lot more probable than the others. The people at the organization had never used that word to address themselves. The machine seemed like attached to the building in the first place. Then these police was the same that brought the sirens to the facility when she met The Moon. The second question was pretty simple to reply. He looked a lot like her, with his slender build, and his white hair. If they were the people from the lab, or if the people at the organization had sent them, they might end up catching both of them on purpose or by mistake. Gamma: "I'm running so they can't take me back. You are like me, aren't you? I help you, like The Moon helped me." Again it was pretty awkward reply, but it was sincere. As she posed her hazel eyes on the boy, she noticed he was heaving slowly... out of breath. That was a first for her. Maybe he was not like her at all... |

Drisk listened to the girl, confused by what she said. So they can't take her back? What does she mean? And like her? Hmm... "Well, I'm a meta-human, if that's what you mean. But I don't think I'm like you, I've never seen anyone with that kind of agility coupled with being able to survive being hit by a car without a scratch. I have a whole different set of problems, and I don't really think anyone can help me with them. But what do you mean take you back? Did you commit some sort of felony, or what?" |

Gamma motioned the boy to follow her, since staying on the same spot would prove dangerous to both of them. As they passed thru a new backyard, something became as clear to her as the surface of the round dome she saw daily at the facility. The boy talked a lot. Much more than what she was capable of absorbing. Keeping track of it all was a pretty hard task for Gamma to achieve, so she just stuck to the last thing the boy had said. She replied to him, without looking in his direction. Her eyes were seeking for any signs of the sirens, which had stopped by now. He effectively worried for her, and somehow it made her feel good. Good like when she spoke her heart to the moon in the sky. Maybe it was his physical appearance being so similar to that of hers, that made her feel so confortable. Gamma: "Meta human? What's that? I'm a monster, that's what they said. A monster that should have been kept locked up from the worlld. I've always been inside this... place. I don't even know if I did anything... I have no memory of it at least... but it sure must had been something terrible." She had spoken her actual feelings with someone other than the moon, that was a first as well. Maybe this boy was a lot like her after all. Distracted from her anxiety, the girl never thought of what was comming. The helmet machine, a smaller flying version of the thing appeared on their flanks. Gamma watched, stupified, as the helicopter hovered just above the roof of the nearest house. Its helixes created a soft buzzing in the air. It was begging! It was going to turn on the rays! Out of mere chance, the helicopter's pilot switched the search light on. The pale girl turned paler than she already was, but it was hardly noticiable. As images from the not so distant past flooded into her mind, the girl plumped to the ground and began shaking in fear, awaiting her torture. Noone had seen them yet, but the spotlight was searching in every corner of the backyard. With a terrified girl unwilling to run there was little chance these two could do to get to their destination. It would depend on Drisk to fulfill his promise properly. She had completed her side of the deal, after all. |

Drisk stared disbelievingly at the helicopter, thoughts racing through his mind. They sent a helicopter for a simple car crash? Wait, they sent a helicopter after one teenage girl? What the hell? Ooh, it looks like your new friend over there did something really really bad. Maybe you'd get a reward for letting me kill her. Is this girl really a criminal? And what crime is so heinous that they'd send a chopper after a single person? She said herself she was a monster, maybe it would be best for everyone if the police caught her. He hadn't even finished the thought when flashbacks from his earlier school years flooded in. Students whispering as he walked down the hall, a random voice in the crowd yelling out "freak". The thoughts and the flashbacks both continued, entwining with each other, until Drisk made his decision. Jetting forward, Drisk picked up the girl so that she was on his back, held there by his arms until she could get a good grip. Great, now what? The answer came to Drisk when he saw that a portion of the fence was metal. Running straight at it, Drisk narrowed his eyes for impact and crashed straight through the fence, the metal turning the green liquidiness of base matter. He kept running, looking back once in a while to make sure that they weren't being chased. Drisk didn't stop running until they were out of the neighborhood, and gasped out between breaths "hey, are you alright? You can stay on my back if you want, but it might take longer to get to Anime High School that way. I have no idea who you are or what you've done, but I'm sure that whatever you've done it's been blown way out of proportion by those guys." |

Drisk was right to think what he had, the local police had over reacted... Unless... they weren't the real local police. Sure their choppers and cars had the Domino Town Police Deparment insignia. But stickers like that could be pre-ordered or bought in any small mall nowadays, right? Or maybe could it be that the girl was actually a public threat? Metas are best known for their incredibles abilities. Drisk himself could enter into safes if he proposed it... Who knew what this girl could do? === Inside one of the police patrols, a couple of streets behind where the couple had began their run, the leading agent shook his head slightly. He wasn't happy with the results of this chase. They were hunting a teenage girl, with a complete display of forces, and had not succeeded in it. An incomming fax beeped in the other seat of the car. As the man reached to read it, he shook his head once more. Officer: "Are they for real? It's just a teenager..." He was a meta himself, but one of those level ones with little to now power at all, so he knew maybe there could be more to this criminal than met the eye. Maybe he should not have pity, the meta could trully end up being a monster and Domino Town surely had had its share of them. With that idea in mind, he issued the order thru the police channel. Officer: "Atention all unites! Detention of the subject is priority. Lethal force use is allowed." The fax reported the need to catch the fugitive alive but they had issued the lethal force order as well. Maybe that had to do something with the subject's powers? Well... the main idea behind all police deparments is to endorse the sucurity of their comunity... So it was alright, right? === Gamma woke up due to the bopping up and down. The landscape beyond her hazel eyes focused slowly and for a little she felt dizzy. The couple were in the outskirts of Domino now. It was a barren land that joined it with AHS. It was night still and the moon was beggining to hide behind the distant buildings. What had happened? Where was she? Why was she moving... even if her feet were not touching the ground? She focused on the most recent past. The machine... the buzzing... the lights... that was the last thing she remembered. There was a boy... a boy? Where was the boy? As her senses returned fully, she sensed warmth from another body. Turning her head slightly she met with white fur similar to that of hers. It was the boy. Hey, are you alright? You can stay on my back if you want, but it might take longer to get to Anime High School that way. I have no idea who you are or what you've done, but I'm sure that whatever you've done it's been blown way out of proportion by those guys." Gamma: "I told you... I'm a monster. And now they are after you because you helped the monster. You're a meta you said... maybe they think of you as a monster too? I just wanted to keep them from getting both of us... But it will catch us both if this goes on. I can endure the machine... but you seem weaker..." This comment meant a lot to her more than to anyone else. She didn't mean Drisk was weak, her escale was different to that one. She had heard the masked people mention how much 'others', whoever they were, lasted in the machine. She had never seen anyone else in it, ever. So she could just guess they put other people just like her in it. Drisk looked similar to her in many ways... so they would probably put him in the machine too. She took a deep breath thinking about what would they do to her if they got her back. Surely they'll keep her in the thing even after the 15 minutes... That single idea made her shake entirely. After a few minutes of the running on his back, and unshifting surroundings, the girl finally felt like she could walk once more. Gamma: "I'm fine... I think I can..." 'Walk' was the following word but it was never heard even if the pale girl mouthed it. For a single second there was nothing but brilliance in front of their eyes and not even air for their words to flow. The thing that she called shield had surrounded them both, deflecting something. It was just a split second, so there was no lack of air or anything. Just a flash and a soundless word. The helicopter had not only found them, oh no, now someone on it was shooting at them with a sniper rifle. The sniper had been surprised by the flash probably as Drisk had. But still the copter gave chase and the man on the edge of the loading deck was aimingonce more at the pair. Gamma felt dizzy once more, just like when she had crashed into the car earlier. Maybe bullets were stronger than cars? Her shield only lasted the 15 minutes run under the energy beams from the machine back at the facility. She had no idea how much it would last under the impacts from bullets. |

Three things surprised Drisk to a very high degree. The first was that the helicopter had found them. Damn. The second was much more surprising, namely that the police were shooting at them. Double damn. Thirdly and finally, Drisk was very surprised at a flash which had stopped a bullet from hitting the tywo of them. Was this one of the girl's meta powers? Bad-ass. But there was no time to think on that. They were still being shot at, and Drisk had no idea how much they could depend on her sheild. So he started running away from the helicopter, jumping forward into some tall grass. For a few seconds they were safe, but it was a very, very temporary safety, and it would only be a few seconds before they were shot at again. Pulling the girl off his back, Drisk whispered "stay here, and no matter what happens don't move until those police are gone, preferably a few minutes after they leave. And one more thing, you aren't a monster. I've met a monster, and you are definitely not one." Jumping up from the grass, Drisk held up a certain rude finger to the helicopter. "HEY ASSHOLES, YOU WANT ME? COME AND GET ME!" He started running away from the grass, and when he was a good distance just stopped and layed on his back, staring at the darkened night sky as the helicopter closed in to arrest him. Well, what a night this turned out to be. I guess I'm not the only one around here with some serious problems. Still... I can't help but wonder if this is really the right thing to do. The helicopter was even closer now, and for a split second Drisk turned his head toward the tall grass and smiled. Yeah, it is. |

The girl plopped to the ground, gingerly. It was the first time she felt something like grass touching her skin, it was a pointy and rough. Gamma was still dazed from using her active power, the light shield that had portected them both from the bullet. With her eyes closed, awaiting for the world to come to a stop, she listened to the boy's words. "Stay here, and no matter what happens don't move until those police are gone, preferably a few minutes after they leave. And one more thing, you aren't a monster. I've met a monster, and you are definitely not one." Gamma: "But, what..." She intented to say: "but, what are you going to do?", but Drisk could have only managed to hear the first two words as he jumped out of their improvised shelter and added... "HEY ASSHOLES, YOU WANT ME? COME AND GET ME!" What was he doing?! They would surely take him away and put him half an hour to the machine! He would die! Moving the tall leaves of the grass, with one of her slim hands, she found the boy running away from her with all he had got. Maybe he was stronger than she had thought, at first. He had carried her a good deal of the trail on his back and now he was speeding away from her. Why was he doing that? That answer escaped her, but his actions reflected on those of her idolized Moon. The Moon had taken her out of the building, and now this boy was taking those policemen away from her. Was he one of the people mentioned by the Moon? The people that were there to help her? For some reason she felt just like when the white robed men gave her double rations. In her language that would be gratitude. She was thankful for the boy doing what he was doing. But she also felt uneasy, like when the sun rose into the little window of her cell. That was around the time when those doctors would take her away into the machine. That was anxiety. She was anxious about what would happen to the young boy she felt so grateful towards. Maybe she should go with him? The idea passed thru her mind, but her body thought otherwise. She couldn't move from that sitting position. Not because of lack of energies, not at all. She was afraid. In the distance she saw the flying machine follow the boy and something ran down her spine. The thought of reliving the pain, that the dreaded artifact brought into her, kept her still and quiet just as Drisk had asked her to be. ==== Pilot: "I lost them! I lost them!" Sniper: "They can't be far. Scout the area." Pilot: "Roger that." With a swift movement of his hand, the pilot set the order into action. The helicopter began its wide turn around the area where the spotlight had missed the young figitives. Clouds had turn the entire barren land into nothing but shadows as they stationed themselves in front of the bright night moon. On the ground, one of the patrols had given chase and now made its way to where the flying unit had missed their targets. On the wheel, the same officer that had received the faxed orders. Out of the corner of his eyes, the man manages to see a shadow on the distance. It was someone, running from them. Possibly their target. Officer: "Target's on the run. 7 o'clock, boys." On mid-air, the pilot turned the thing around, giving the sniper open room for the shoot. The jeep caught up and its lights finally covered their target. Just as the man on the cargo deck took his final breath to make the shot, the boy plopped to the ground with his back against the floor. Quickly the man took his radio and called on to his fellows on chase. Officer: "Hold your fire, H1. The target's on the ground. I repeat. Target has surrendered." ==== The next minutes went on very quickly. The sniper cable-dropped from the copter and quickly turned the white haired boy over. Once he had the teen pinned on the ground, he quickly placed a thick collar over the boy's neck. It was a common thing nowadays when dealing with Metas. The collar was designed to supress powers at genetical level. Once they pulled the boy back to his feet, the officer took out the page in which he had a printed picture of their prey. Short white hair, pale look, average height. Ok, it was him. The real body features were hardly distingable in the middle of the night as they were, not even with the help of the car's lights. Officer: "Alright, we've got him. Pack him up boys." And that was probably lights out for Drisk, as the rear of the sniper rifle hits him on the back of the head. |

The back end of the sniper rifle had caught Drisk right on the back of the head. Right before the lights in his head when out, he felt the pain, and grit his teeth so he wouldn't shout out because of it. The final thought that passed through him was here's the tricky part. I have to be unconcious while still not allowing Marius to take control. With this collar on, he wouldn't be able to fight or anything, but he could tell them where that girl was. That sounds like something Marius would enjoy doing very much. You got that right, bucko. But you can't stop me, you can't even stay conscious. I don't need to be conscious to go inside my mind. Ha, you tried that at the gym, remember? It was what let me take control back there. What I did then, I did out of anger. I have a more important goal then just beating the crap out of you. And with that last thought Drisk faded out. __________________________ His eyes opened. There was blackness all around him. The only figure there was the brightly orange haired Marius. Drisk was sure this must be inside his mind, for that was the only place where Drisk had fully green hair and Marius had fully orange, at least until their powers were mastered. "You won't get control" Drisk said angrily. "Oh, you're sounding mad, just like in the gym before I beat you up and faught those people." He's right.... Drisk thought, and took a deep breath, which was unnecessary considering he was only a mental image of himself, and thusly didn't need to breath. But this time, the fight is much more important. He won't tell those people where the girl was hiding. I've already been chased by cops, ran through the night was someone on my back, and been arrested and knocked out, which should qualify as excessive force. After all that, I'm not letting this guy screw it up. Drisk ran forward, a look of calmness over his features. As he closed in, Marius shot a punch forward, which if it hit would have ended the struggle then and there. As it was, Drisk whacked the inside of Marius's elbow with his own arm, knocking the blow to the side. An opening now created, Drisk rammed his head as hard as he could at Marius's, and trhe collision shot both of them backward. Marius fell unconscious, as did Drisk. ____________________________ His eyes opened, but his vision was very blurry. He seemed to be in the helicopter now, flying through the air. The officer with the rifle saw him looking around, and with another whack Drisk gained a second bump on his head, as well as another visit to forced slumber land. Bastard Drisk thought as the lights faded again. |
