Elial paid for the cab before Kysse could get to it. He wanted to thank her for taking him in last night, and this, at the moment, was the best thing he could think of. Stepping out onto the curb, he opened the door for her and waited almost like a child, excited for the day. The concrete curb met a sidewalk of red brick and gravel which showed off the style of the architecture. He looked around to find that they were, yes, in Shibuya, but a different part than that of where they were last night. Last night, the two of them were on what was considered "the Hill." It was more of the touristy shops along the streets with a McDonald's and a Starbucks on every corner. A lot of students hung around there, especially during the day. This area, however, was more family oriented. Just looking around, Elial noticed many couples with small children in hand or in strollers laughing and talking, or looking infuriated at one another. He winced. Hopefully today would be a nice, relaxing, fun day. He hated for anything to go wrong now. The sky was a beautiful blue gradient that seemed to disappear into the horizon. The sun shone brightly, unhindered by big clouds. Rather, small puffs seemed to float around like little fish travelling very slowly. There was barely any wind, which was nice, but when a breeze came along, it took Elial's long dark hair with it, sending it away from his back and shoulder. Looking to Kysse and putting his hands in his pockets so that the thumbs were the only digits showing, Elial smiled. "Lead the way! I have not been around here very often, or really at all, so I do not know what to expect! I am sure you know where to go though and certainly what to look for." |

The drive over was silent, Kysse avoided both the drivers conversations and Elial didn’t even seem to try. Then again who said quiet was bad? The trip seemed long to her, maybe it was because of how she’d felt. Then the car came to a halt and when Elial opened the door for her, but she wasn’t going to crawl across to the other one to be stubborn. When shopping Kysse rarely noticed the weather, even now as the unusual breeze would toss her hair to one side. Maybe coming back to this place wouldn’t be good for Elial, it was a fear she wouldn’t speak though. With a tilt of her head she muttered something like, “This way.” She actually made her way to the nicer shops, it was all she knew around here, yes they were more expensive but neither Elial nor she had ever seemed to have money problems. Making one turn after the other they’d actually walked several blocks, but Kysse knew where she was going. Her eyes watched the ground and looked up every once in a while to make sure she was going the right way. There was no mistaking their destination when she found it. Boutiques and small yet fashionable stores littered the sides of the street. It seemed more like a New York setting than anything. Still, this was Japan, so the stores rose higher rather than wider, and looked small than they were. The window displays showed colorful clothing for the summer styles that would be most worn at this time of year. Some even dare to show off their fall styles. Kysse herself had only been here a handful of times and it was more expensive, but these were her kind of shops. Often times when she shopped couture shops she got the milder outfits though, there is no reason to flaunt money, unless you want to get noticed. “This is it; I call it Fashion Street, mainly because it has amazing fashion all on one, or two, streets. It’s really amazing depending on your taste for clothing. And I’m rambling.” When she spoke she used her hands to sort of reveal it to him. With that she shrugged and continued on to a store that would be for him but the name was French and she didn’t care to sound it out. Some how it had turned out to be full of swim suits, as if Kysse knew where she was going. Still, it was always harder for her to find places where they sold men’s clothing. |

Elial just stood in wonder for a moment before quickly following Kysse. He stared down the streets as they walked from block to block. He wondered where they were going for quite some time, but then realized that she had to be leading him somewhere nice, so he let her take care of it all. He hoped that she wasn't mad at him at all because she seemed to be a lot more quiet. He had hoped that this was going to be a good experience. Maybe when she was immersed in the clothing and the stores she would open up more. At the present, Kysse only seemed to be fuming. Not a good thing. Was it something that Elial had said or done? Perhaps he shouldn't have asked to take a shower... Elial really didn't notice that he looked a lot like a tourist. He figured only that these things were new to him and he wanted to learn more. Certainly there were shops in England, but because he lived in the countryside he barely went into town often. He imaged that his little sister probably knew more about those sorts of things than he did. That was all good and well. The shops that he looked into seemed very bright indeed, and enticing to his eyes for they had many colours and patterns and shapes. The young man was was trying to decide which one was the best one when Kysse led the way and introduced him. "This is really nice! I am not very much up to date with fashion, but it seems like the place to be! I am glad that I have you with me to guide me. You are not rambling at all!” Elial exclaimed. They stopped in front of the French store and the young man looked up at it. "Ah. Signe Océanique!" He looked at Kysse and smiled with that same sort of apologetic look on his face. "My father had me tutored in European languages. I am not as fluent as my sister, but I can read and speak enough to get by! This means...eh...Ocean....Wave I believe." |

She looked from the sign and back to him. That was amazing that he knew the name of the store. Perhaps she would leave the shopping for him and merely help out. After all she goes shopping too often to have to buy something now. Then again, if something caught her eye, she would be on it in a matter of seconds. Unlike him, she wasn’t extremely polite. After acknowledging what he had said she grabbed the door open and went inside just waiting for him to follow. The cool temperature of the room made her shiver slightly but she continued walking toward the men’s clothing. It was odd, she could wear the skimpiest clothing and not feel embarrassed at all but when she looked through men clothing, such as undergarments or Speedo swim suits, she would blush and turn away. Immaturity wasn’t something she thought when she blushed and turned away, it was just something she wasn’t used to. She picked out knee length trunks until she stumbled upon the female sections. ‘Oh’s and Awe’s’ escaped her when she came across some fun and different swim suits. Maybe she would ask his opinion, on some of them. Over the trunks she threw two swim suits then made her way back to him. Hopefully he didn’t find her behavior rude, then again he couldn’t read her anyway. To most women that was a good thing, but he couldn’t see anything when he looked at her. Though Kysse didn’t know the meaning of the phrase, she couldn’t help but think, “Destined to be friends.” |

Elial also noticed the cool interior and caught her shiver. He was an extremely observant person, but he was so unaccustomed to being around different people, especially someone like Kysse, that he did not know what to do about his observations. Sometimes it won him praise, but most of the time, people were just annoyed by what he mentioned. Perhaps because of the young woman's steadfast attitude, he did not dare wish to tell her much of what he saw. Elial was surprised of course when she tossed him the clothing, but caught it with ease. The salesclerk just sort of looked at him strangely in such garb. He certainly looked as though he fit in, except for the sword at his waist. "Excuse me, sir," said the older woman in a pair of pinstriped blue and black pants and matching blazer. She looked from his face to the sword at his side and then back again. She made sure to speak loud enough and slow enough for him and Kysse to hear, although she had wandered away to the woman's section. The store was not HUGE and they were really the only customers. "I wonder, if by chance, you might be able to allow us to hold onto your...sword...so that you do not disturb other customers?" She was definitely Japanese, which did not surprise Elial even though the store was French, but he did furrow his eyebrows. At this, the saleswoman took a step back. She did not want to deal with him! Why did the strange ones always come during her work hours? Elial was not comfortable letting go of his sword. Although he hoped that it was a good and peaceful trip, he could not be sure that at any moment some rampaging bull was not going to storm through the door. He did not want to embarrass Kysse though. Stuck in this awkward situation, the Englishman just stood and looked at the woman with a hawk-like gaze of uncertainty, blinking just once. |

Kysse hadn’t heard the entire conversation. It was as if she were in her own little world of clothing and imagination. In time she came to see the disturbance Elial was causing as he refused to give up his sword. Thinking quick to make up an excuse Kysse walked toward the clerk. Considering Kysse hadn’t heard a word from Elial she decided to use this as an advantage. The clerk looked her expectantly and Kysse spoke to excuse Elial. “I’m sorry, he isn’t from around here and he may not understand you. He will not harm anyone or anything and I swear it will stay in its sheath.” Kysse bowed quickly and rushed off to Elial. “Don’t say anything from now on, ok?” She looked back to the clerk hoping she could get away with it. She spoke to them each in a different language, to Elial in English and to the woman in Japanese. What was she supposed to do? Instead of standing around she pushed him toward the dressing room. Did he seriously have to bring that sword with them? It may have helped in a situation like last night but it was so noticeable now. “Um, go change.” It wasn’t like she was trying to be demanding, she just didn’t want to cause problems. That and she wasn’t exactly in a perky mood. Leaving him there she walked to the clerk again and asked for a key to two fitting rooms. |

There weren't many things that Elial was offended, by, and most of the time he tried to be as good natured as possible, but to him, his sword was sacred. Any horseplay was definitely prohibited, but covering it up was also dishonourable. He frowned as Kysse pushed him toward the dressing room and waited until she was back to talk, even though she had forbidden him to. "I cannot guarantee that it will stay in its sheath," Elial whispered, his face close to hers as he spoke. He clutched the sword handle in one hand and his other arm was still full of trunks making the entire scene look absolutely ridiculous. "You may have given her your vow, but I cannot. If something should happen..." He thought of last night. If Eli had not awoken and taken charge of the situation, the two of them could be dead by now. And the sword was really his only protection. Sure he could fight hands-on, but against some creature like a wolf? No way! He doubted it would come into public now that it was sunny and bright and there was so much activity about, but he could not guarantee it. Sighing, Elial continued. "...I just do not wish to be taken off guard. That is all..." Really it was an issue of concern, not pride! The young Englishman couldn't help wanting to protect the only person who seemed to be taking care of him and watching over him. Without any of his family here, he had felt so stranded. But Kysse had brought a new light in, almost as if to say that there was something more to search for. Eli saw it too, he was sure, even if his counterpart did not say much. They both shared the same kind of feelings. |

As he tried to convince her that he needed his sword she shrugged at his comment. If such were to occur what made him think they could rush out of the store before hand? It didn’t matter. He had it so why was he still bent on the subject? The expression she made wasn’t one she made often. It made her feel weird and unhappy. While standing there listening she looked at him mainly through her brow though one was raised and she wasn’t trying to look cute. Again she was trying to be intimidating. She knew it never had an affect on people but she did it anyway. Her voice wasn’t so angry though, she couldn’t muster up the courage to be angry while that close to him. “Unless there is real danger, which I personally doubt, it will stay as is. Go change.” The clerk opened two rooms and discarded their conversation as a fight. The noise alerted Kysse and she jumped, bumping into Elial and almost falling to the ground. Without an apology the clerk left them and Kysse sighed and lowered her head. She didn’t turn to Elial to say anything; instead she walked into the fitting room and tried on one of the swim suits she had grabbed. While inside she called out to him, “Show me yours and I’ll show you mine.” There it was, her friendliness, it couldn’t be hidden, and she didn’t want to hide it either. She felt bad for seeming so rude but he started it. That was the childish way to look at it but she didn’t care. Her mind was on other things, for instance, her swim suit as well as Elial and possible dangers. Stepping out of the room she waited for him to show her his outfit while she stood there in hers. She didn’t look timid or scared at all. ((Swim suit number 1! |

((Ooo! Super cute!)) Elial was a bit irked, even though he knew that she had done what she had to to make sure that he would still have the sword. He guessed he should be nicer, more considerate. Sighing, the man stepped into the changing room and took off the clothing carefully so that he could put on the swimming trunks. He set them neatly on the hangers, not wanting the jacket and shirt to get wrinkled. Folding the jeans nicely, he set them in the corner, but not before unlooping the leather cord for his sword and setting it in the corner. Putting on the trunks and stepping out, he sighed. Of course, he was not really tan except for his arms, which were definitely noticeably darker than the rest of his body, but that wasn't to say that he was not toned either. On days when he trained shirtless, which were rare, he still got a tan. Elial exhibited muscular, though still lanky arms, and the edges of a six pack. He was really lean, but there was a certain lithe and strong sense about him. His legs, now showing, were not very hairy at all, but also showed his calf muscles. At first, Elial was completely embarrassed, having just exitted the fitting room in a huff, but then he realized that he had never really done such a thing. In Europe, there really weren't that many fitting rooms. People just knew their size and bought the clothing. But here, everyone tried things on, regardless of age or gender. He thought it a bit strange. "Er..." Elial began. He looked at Kysse, taking in her form and the swimsuit. Trying to be modest about it, but still giving her his opinion, he remarked, "I like the colours. The design is a bit...overpowering I think." She wanted his honesty, right? Swimming Trunks #1 |

She watched as he stepped out of the room. Seeing him that way made her think of earlier that day when he was in her bathroom. She would have blushed at her thoughts had his comment not been made. Overpowering? What exactly did that mean? If it meant busy then she couldn’t help but agree. His was also busy and the colors were a bit off to her. She didn’t want to seem rude again so she merely shook her head. “I agree this one’s a bit much, but yours kind of is too.” Turning to the side she lifted her arms a bit to look into the full length vanity mirror at the other end of the dressing room. The swim suit she wore had cute colors but too many of them. Turning back to him she smiled. “Next.” With that she turned and went back into her room to try on her other swim suit which would be her last. She didn’t really pick many out now that she thought about it, but she was there for him. Oh his little games were too much, showing her his body made her think of him more, almost as if it were a curse of sorts. The only way she could possibly get him out of her mind was to think of recipes that would be good, which only made her want to eat even though she wasn’t hungry. It didn’t take long to step out in the second swim suit. This time she twirled her hair around her fingers and watched the ground waiting for the sound of his door opening until she was to look up. ((Swim suit #2!)) |

Elial sighed. What a relief that was walking out there for anyone to see. But now he had to do it again! Stepping back into the dressing room, he locked the door quickly and took of the trunks to try on another pair. He liked the last one, but did think about what Kysse had said. It was a bit much as well. He frowned, taking the next pair into his hands and mulling over the possibility that this would be any better. Putting them on quickly, because trunks were easy to try on and off for guys, he straightened out the beltline before stepping back out. His first reaction was to tip his head sideways at her swimsuit. It was the exact same style, really, that is, bikini, but the stars were way too much for his taste. Admitting to it, Elial stated, "I think that I liked the last one a bit better...the greenish blue colour is nice, but the stars are quite shiny and I do not think that they go well with the base colour. I think this one is...very flashy." He did not know if he was conveying his words correctly, and hoped that he was not offending her, but Elial had no experience in fashion words really, and was trying his hardest to tell her what he meant. Still, he hoped to get her mind maybe off that and motioned toward himself again. "What about this one?" he asked her, shrugging. "I like the colour green." The funny thing about the green was that it matched his counterpart's eyes very well indeed. Still, the long raven ponytail and crimson eyes of his own were something he couldn't judge. Did they match? Or would this pair only look good on Eli? That was actually something he hadn't thought about until that moment. What if he turned to Eli when dressed in a pair of trunks! Elial chuckled to himself. He bet that no one ever had to think about how trunks looked on his other self. Swimming Trunks #2 |

Though he didn’t like the swim suit she had fallen in love with the fit and comfort, which was her top priority. It was alright if he didn’t like something she wore, some people didn’t care for her outfits, but this was her choice. She liked it but nodded to his comments. Other than that his trunks were much better this time. There were a lot of flowers but that was the style and she thought it worked. The only thing was that she thought it’d look well on Elial as well. Perhaps they were thinking the same thing as he chuckled and she grinned. “Much better, I like the color.” As the color of the trunks reminded him of Eli it reminded her of Eli as well. The thought of Eli in those struck her as attractive and she had to concentrate on Elial to get Eli out of her thoughts. “I don’t have anymore to try on so... I guess I’ll just see the other ones you have?” Without awaiting an answer she rushed into her room to put on real clothes. Quickly she threw on everything she’d been wearing before and hung up the two swim suits. For a moment she surveyed the two and decided she would get the second one despite his feeling toward it. And if he didn’t like it he could pick his own for her to try on. |

Elial was nodding as she responded and went into the changing room the same time as her. He was not quite as fast, but managed to say, "I have two or three more," before entering and locking the door. Taking off the next pair from its hanger, he sighed. Shopping was so tiring and he was just starting! He was beginning to wonder how women liked all the fuss. Certainly he enjoyed the feeling of all the trunks. They were of different materials, but were basically the same. The situation for guys was quite easy. Pair of trunks. The end. So long as they didn't catch a lot of water and fall off, he would be okay. Elial put the next pair on and stepped out, surprised that Kysse had decided on the latter and that she was already there waiting. He laughed at the image of her just sitting there attentively and smiled. "These are rather nice," Elial said, giving his opinion right off the bat. There wasn't much to complain about the next ones. They were a lot darker than the other two, but he liked the pattern. Swimming Trunks #3 (I hope this link works) |

He liked busy things, she noted, but that wasn’t a bad thing. It was in his character and he had good character. Her arms were folded as she looked him over. Those ones looked good on him; dark went well with his hair. With her free hand she gave him a ‘thumbs up’ but didn’t say much. She looked around for a chair to sit in and found one easily. Sitting down she awaited his next choice. It was hard to say he couldn’t look good in any of them. All of them weren’t amazing but he wore them well, which was important for beach goers. It didn’t take much to make him look good in her eyes. Once again she wasn’t cross with him, just extremely curious. No other person had made her that way before and it kind of frustrated her. Often times she could tell what a guy was thinking, though she couldn’t understand what a guy was thinking. Her legs crossed one over the other as she sat there waiting. She thought about the swim suit again. It wasn’t his opinion that made her stubborn about it, she thought that it would be cute to have the star as a tan line, even if tan lines weren’t something she often got. The possibility of one was what excited her with that swim suit. |

Elial beamed at her thumbs up and when he realized he was smiling like a nut, he stopped and walked back into the dressing room. Closing and locking the door, he looked at himself in the mirror inside and wondered if what he saw was what Kysse saw. Was it really him? He didn't pay attention much to his body since he was so used to seeing it all the time, but more and more often he was thinking about it because Eli was different than him and he really knew there was a change in his body when their transformation occurred. Shaking the thoughts from his head, Elial put on the next pair of trunks and stepped out shortly after. He offered a small smile to Kysse again, seeing that she had found a place to situate herself, and said, "So...this one is quite similar to the other one...um...the same pattern just about, but blue. I thought it was a nice blue..." Elial managed to catch a glimpse of himself down at the far mirror Kysse had looked in before and blinked. Was he really that dark? Maybe his hair made it all darker. What long hair. He bet anyone thought he was a girl with the long hair, but it had been really an act of defiance against his father. Still, his mind began to wander and he thought of taking Kysse back to Europe again for some reason. She would look so beautiful done up at a ball. Granted, she looked quite lovely now, but he could just imagine her in a gown with her hair up in a twist or bun. So elegant... Taking his mind out of the clouds again, Elial blinked back into reality and looked at Kysse with his unsettlingly dark red eyes. "What do you think of this one?" Swimming Trunks #4 |

As he stepped out of the dressing room she couldn’t help but stare. His choices kept getting better. As she smiled her teeth showed and her eyes twinkled a bit. There was no way she could stop thinking about him even with how hard she tried. There was something about him that she couldn’t keep herself from wondering. She wanted to keep learning stuff about him and she didn’t know what triggered that feeling. “Woooow! I really like that one, the color and design, and it looks really good.” She beamed at him and didn’t care if she looked stupid or not. “If I got to choose, I’d pick that one, not that you can’t get more than one, I’m just saying so far, that’s my favorite.” While she watched she pushed her hair behind her ear. She should have put her hair up too; it was going to be in the way while she changed. Then again she preferred having her hair down and around her, it was like a shield from stares she often felt. Silencing herself was a sign to let him change. |

This time, it was hard to not notice Kysse staring at him, so Elial just kind of blinked and almost blushed. He was surprised to actually see her smile with her teeth. He liked her closed lipped smile, but liked this one even better. The woman seemed to have things on her mind, but he wondered what she was thinking. Elial didn't have to wait long. "Great!" Elial exclaimed, smiling. He nodded his head and continued, "I think that I will get this one, but I think that I should also choose another because then I will not have to worry about washing them constantly if we are going to be on the beach or on the boat all the time." It was a wise decision, and it only took him a second or two to come to that conclusion. Besides, he did not have many swimming trunks. "Now the tough decision is which is the alternate one!" He laughed, going back into the dressing room and taking the others out for her to see again. "So what do you think?" |

She was glad he chose to keep that one; after all, it was the best one. Then he decided to pick between them all for a second. Why would he do that? It wasn’t like this was the only shop they were going to. That thought made her look over her own choice quickly. She too needed more than one swim suit, but she had more in her stuff. “Hmm, well, we can always check out other shops. I don’t know how you feel about mall shops, but further down they have a two story Abercrombie & Fitch boutique and American Eagle Outfitters, I think.” They had nice clothing for swimming; she also liked their layering shirts, though she didn’t wear that casual of clothing often. He needed to change back into his clothes so that she could stop staring at his body. But then again the style of the outfit he was wearing really grabbed her attention too. She wondered what he thought about her appearance. Looking at herself she found her thinking of herself as average. She’d never really compared herself to other people, it didn’t make her happy. Snapping back into reality she looked back at him. “Your choice. Or you can wait until we get lower down the street. |

After changing back into the outfit Kysse had managed to get for him, he opened the door to the changing room and took off all the swimming trunks from the hooks. He had replaced them onto their respective hangers and nodded to himself as he thought. "Perhaps I will buy this one for now and then I will get another one later if I should not find anything elsewhere." Elial thought it was a reasonable plan considering that they would be shopping the most of the day, if not whole, and actually, the more he thought about it, he realized that he would be able to come back another day to buy one of them. He walked with Kysse to the cash register, and was about to speak when he realized that he was not supposed to in order to keep up their appearance, so he turned to her and blinked several times. After setting down the trunks he wanted to the counter for the salesclerk to ring up, he reached around back and pulled his trusty leather wallet from the back pocket of the dark wash jeans. Elial had to admit, for some reason, he felt pretty suave in these clothes, probably because he knew they were nice... He rifled through bills, waiting for the total to come up. If he did not have enough cash on him, he certainly had a credit card and a debit card. Those were some of the first things he made sure to get when he came to Japan. |

It was a relief that he didn’t talk to the woman behind the desk. It would have been kind of funny considering all of them made a big deal about everything. She pointed to his things and told the clerk they were his while with her own things she set aside. The blues almost matched, it was funny that they both picked such similar things. The amount of the swim suit had been on the tag but now it flashed across the little digital screen for him to see. In no time a second register clerk came and took Kysse’s things. So while Elial was busy with his clothing she too was busy with hers. The woman she spoke to had made small talk with Kysse, they had seen each other before considering Kysse had been to this area several times. With that Kysses transaction was complete and Elials must have been too. It was time for a dressier shop, for what they would wear while spending nights in fine dining restaurants and parties on the boat, and what else they would be sucked into. Kysse didn’t even think to tell him that they were going for Claude’s work, or did she? This street had fewer people parading around than the last, perhaps it was because of the more expensive shops. But here was where you could see all the wealthy people showing off their stature to the others. Kysse never paid them any mind, plus Elial did look pretty wealthy in those kinds of clothes and it wasn’t like Kysse’s outfit came cheap. Every now and then she would look up at Elial and just smile and tell him little tid-bits about each store; after all it was his choice of where they’d go. |

((OOC: Hey. I'm gonna be gone until Monday, but I'll try to get on a comp when I can! If not, see you then. Thanks for being so diligent in your posts!))Elial paid quickly and put his wallet away, taking the bag that the woman had put the trunks into. He nodded to her in thanks, still keeping up his ruse, and then proceeded to follow Kysse out of the door. The outside weather was still absolutely gorgeous and he could not think of a greater day that they could spend with one another shopping in a kind of out-doorsey setting. Resting one hand on the hilt of his sword and the other holding the bag, he was too pre-occupied to really think about holding Kysse's hand. He didn't know if that was something that she would even want! Elial smiled as she talked about all the different stores and a little bit of the history to some. It was great to know what was inside. He was happy to finally find someone who could actually tolerate him for more than just twenty minutes. Looking around some more, Elial picked out another shop that had a bright green and yellow sign that said: Verde di Eliza "It is Italian," Elial said, tipping his head sideways and thinking. "Must be the name of a famous designer. Eliza Green. Perhaps there will be some nice things inside!" |

((You too, Can’t say I’ve ever gotten posts so quickly from anyone else.)) Kysse looked at the store he had picked out. It was a good choice, much like his last pair of swim trunks. Italian men clothing was expensive, but they were made well too, they were worth the paid price. That’s what she had always told Claude. There was elegance about the shop that Kysse loved. It was the one reason she preferred high class shops compared to the mall stores. Perhaps it was the feeling that she could afford to shop there that made her happy about it. As they entered the store he had picked, no one commented on the sword that hung at his side. It wasn’t as new for them to have an armored man in their presence because often times men came there for special occasions where they had no choice but to present themselves with a sword. Their actions didn’t take her by surprise either. A male clerk walked up to Elial aside a female clerk walking to Kysse. Without a word they offered their assistance. Again Kysse was familiar with the woman who planned on assisting her, though this shop she’d only visited once for her Valentine’s Day outfit. “Elail, I still want to see what you try on, so you have to wait for me.” She eyed the male clerk as well, making sure he understood her. After he nodded she walked off with the woman. Small questions escaped the woman, name Tina, she asked the occasion and if she was supposed to match Elial, et cetera. With equally short answers she looked through the gowns and such that hung on the racks. The dresses were beautiful, simple and intricate at the same time. After a minute or two the woman had several in her arms, draped so that the dresses wouldn’t get any wrinkles. It didn’t take long for them to finish and find a fitting room. Kysse refused to go in until Elial had met them as well. |

((^__^ Yeahhh...I'm a bit obsessive. XD *hugs*)) Elial blinked, amazed at the service at such a place. That probably meant that it was rather expensive. He did not mind, just wondered why the other shops did not have such service, like those in the mall. Sure, occasionally he had found a salewoman who was nice even at a department store, but they were rare. He supposed that the workers thought that they were not getting paid for that, so why try? Still, Elial always tried to be kind to people. He was sad that they did not do the same. Then again, others probably had more hardships than him. The man spoke to him first in Japanese, but when Elial explained that he could speak in English or in Italian if he preferred, a grin came across his face. The clerk explained to him in Italian that he had not had someone come by for a long time to speak with him and that he was pleased there was such a gentlemen. He asked whether he had been raised there or schooled in the art, and Elial told him he had been tutored. Now completely genial, the clerk, who was a tall thin man, deep brown-haired, no facial hair, and wearing a very nice pinstriped suit and silver tie on, began to ask him about all the things he might be interested in. The occasion and such. Elial explained that he was going on a cruise with the young lady from before. "Ahhhh...trying to impress her, eh?" "More like her father! I am meeting him for the first time, and although I am not her significant other, I wish to make a good impression." The clerk nodded, clicking his tongue a bit as he chose many different suits and shirts for Elial to try on. He nodded for the young Englishman to follow and took him toward the dressing room. As they approached Kysse and the Tina waiting there, Elial smiled and the clerk said, "My name is Michael if you have any questions. I shall be here waiting on you." "Thank you," Elial replied. Looking to Kysse, he gave her a grin. "Shall we?" Edited by CrimsonPhoenix88, Jul 3 2008, 03:51 PM.

When he showed up she nodded to his question. Tina requested that if she needed her for anything, as in getting into the gowns, then she would be outside the door. Kysse agreed to those circumstances, she was horrible at getting into dresses that had odd zippers or ties. In time she called for the woman. It took several minutes to get dressed but she tried to rush so that he wouldn’t have to wait. Having a large chest and a little waist didn’t work so well in a store like this normally. Here she got lucky. The dress was long, even on her, which meant she would have to wear heels with it. For now she stepped out bare foot and stood on her heels, she didn’t want to wrinkle the material. Before turning to where he would be she looked in the full length vanity mirror here. Stepping toward it she looked at the dress in all angles. She wasn’t sure if she loved it. Elial would have to tell her how he felt about it. ((Dress 1)) |

Elial had not had the chance to ask her what gown she was trying on first, so through his vast array of suits, he merely chose one in the hopes that it would match. Unfortunately, as her dress was a beautiful silvery whispy colour, his suit was brown. They were both quite elegant outfits, but in different ways. It took him some time to be able to put the suit on because there were so many different layers and of course, once he stepped out, Michael decided to straighten him up, but altogether the ensemble was not bad at all. He turned to look at her, tipping his head a bit sideways as he did. The dress was certainly long on her, but he figured that since she had a head for shopping knowledge that she would know this and decided not to point it out. Instead, he concentrated on the little details he could give his opinion about. Without any real vocabulary he could use, Elial began, "Well, I believe it is quite lovely. I like this lacey sort of look at the top. The large silver piece in the middle may be a bit much, but it is all in all very elegant. The sweep of the dress and the way it falls in the front is very nice." Wincing inside, the Englishman hoped that he was not making a fool out of himself. Either way, they would not say anything. He was rich looking afterall, even though he was not incredibly wealthy. Coming from a good and well off family had its perks. "What do you think of this one?" ((Brown Suit)) |

The brown outfit he had chosen was definitely no match to Kysse’s. Maybe she should have told him her outfit choice. It didn’t matter. She stepped toward him and looked over the suit; of course this was after his critique of her outfit. While she looked him over she spoke about her own feelings. “I don’t think I like this one, the cut is pretty, but it’s a bit plain for a girl like me. And it screams school dance.” She stepped back in front of him on her last word and nodded. She liked the suit. The under shirt was fun. But when she thought of brown she thought of older men, it wasn’t a problem of course, just a personal thing. That opinion wouldn’t be voiced. But could he seriously make anything look good? The other thing, brown and black weren’t a good mixture. As in, his hair would throw off this outfit, mainly because there was so much of it. “I have mixed feelings about it. But I’m leaning more toward liking it than burning it.” What she said made the two helping hands a bitter jumpy. Hopefully she wasn’t one of those Meta’s that would rip apart their glorious store, but Tine knew better than that. “I’m going to try on another silver one…” A sudden ring went off in her dressing room. Her cell phones melodious ring was set on high so she could hear it. Without another word she rushed into the changing room to answer her phone. In there, her voice was muffled behind the door, even though it was open. She sounded surprised but excited at the same time. Minutes later she poked her head out of the changing room. “I hope it’s alright if we can leave by the end of the week? Claude just called and told me our flight in on Friday. I’m going to change really fast.” With that she was back in the dressing room with Tina to aid her. Kysse was in high spirits once again. Friday was so close she could taste it. Elial being there with her would make the trip even more fun. Tina pulled an off the shoulder gown over Kysse, the flow of the dress was amazing. This one was also more complex than the other. There was a slit, twisting material and the gown glittered. It was beautiful and unique, of both, this would be her choice. And in minutes she would be back out, waiting for his suit to be put on. Elial nodded, thankful for her critique. Secretly, though he noticed she hadn't said it, he had noticed himself that the brown colour probably would not go very well with his black hair. It was just something that his little sister had always said to him. Maybe she would be the voice in his head helping him with what would look good or bad. After he heard the ring, Elial visibly winced. He was not very fond of loud cell phones, but figured that it was something he had to get used to. The atmosphere at the store really made it bright and ringy sounding, piercing the almost quiet. He nodded to Michael to ready another suit as he hung back a moment for Kysse. He did not know if there was something wrong or not and wanted to be sure. When she told him that the flight was this weekend his eyes widened. Of course that would be no trouble, for he had no agenda really, but that was a lot sooner than he thought. That would mean meeting her father sooner too! Elial nodded and dove back into the dressing room, deciding to change fast as well. He managed to get out about the same time as Kysse, and wearing a suit that matched a bit better. The tie had very nice silver lines, but that was about all that he could manage. He showed Kysse and opened his arms, almost for a hug. Looking at her new dress, he couldn't help but give her a rather perplexed look. Elial could not figure out how it worked really. Instead of keeping the thoughts in his mind, he expressed them, "Well...I am not sure if I like the material. It is rather shimmery and a bit much in the way of fabric use. I think that it is elegant off the shoulders, but I am not sure about the length. Would it not be too long?" Black Suit |

Kysse’s toothy grin returned as he opened his arms. Hers hands reached up to touch her pink cheeks. He looked so good in that suit. The other was good too, but this time they matched better. Before he had a chance to shut his arms she pushed herself into them softly but pulled away and looked over her shoulder at the vanity mirror. They looked like a couple; Tina made a reaction to Kysse’s actions by smiling at them. From the woman’s perspective they did look like a couple, a cute happy high school romance, was an easy thing to think. Kysse listened to his comments and nodded. This dress was easier to walk in than the last. Elial always picked more simple outfits compared to Kysse. That proved that their styles were different, and despite his feelings, she would choose what she wanted. Plus she figured it was hard to impress him, almost as if she couldn’t be good enough. The thought was ignored as she answered his questions. “Heels will work best with this dress, so it wouldn’t be so long. That part I love is the flow and comfort… oh, and this twist thing.” Her pointed fingers followed the sleeves material to the place where they met the torso. One hand pointed above her chest and the other pointed under. The complex simplicity was enough to interest Kysse. For the moment Kysse decided she was done. More clothes could be found in her dorm, and she knew she’d be shopping again before the end of the week. As before, she made a mental note to herself that they were there for him. “I like this suit. You look really good in it.” She really didn’t know what else to say about it. For the time being she just stood close to him in her dress. She was still debating whether or not to actually get it. Taking steps backward she figured she’d change and just relax in the dressing room. She didn’t mean to rush him, if that were the case, it would be easier if she stopped trying things on. “I’m done for now, you don’t really have to show me your other choices, come the end of the week you can just surprise me.” After all, who didn’t love surprises? She was now in the dressing room again talking with Tina about alterations to the gown. The slit would need to be taken above the knee and the length would need to be taken up just a little. It was a beautiful gown, she loved the glitter. Before the ring of her phone could go off again she turned it to vibrate, she saw the annoyed look on Elial’s face before. Usually she left it on high while shopping so that she’d hear it when it rang; it was usually hard to hear when she left it in her purse and in the fitting room. Now she would have it on her so she wouldn’t need to hear it. She was back in her clothes and standing outside the fitting rooms awaiting him. |

Elial hadn't thought of heels. Silly of him really. He always thought they were rather painful looking to wear, though there was something very nice about them as well. He did not mind that they made a woman taller, but the way that they were formed almost forced a woman to stand taller and prouder, something that he found they were not so enthusiastic about these days, or at least, in other countries. "I see, well I have a few more to try on, but I will decide quickly." As he went back inside the dressing room, which was a bit bigger than most, he turned to Michael and asked, "Will these two suits fit me the same as this one? Are they the same measurement?" "Yes, sir. They will be tailored the same way, though differently cut." "Good. I will take them." "All three, sir? Are you certain?" "Yes. And ring them quickly please. I shall present you with the money after I change." "Very good sir. I shall have them packaged as well for your convenience." The Englishman quickly changed back to the original outfit that Kysse had picked out for him from her own place and set the sword once again at his waist. He felt so reassured with the weight pressing against his hip. Stepping out carefully, he went to the register and offered him money for the suits after he gave him the total. It was very expensive, but Elial had been saving money for quite some time, though he had no job, and decided that he would use it. One could never have too many designer suits, especially for such an occasion. "Ready, Kysse?" Elial asked, looking to her with his gentle deep red eyes. With a smile on his face, one hand resting on his sword hilt and the other holding the handle to the bag, who couldn't adore him? |

Kysse had also checked out, but her dress would be delivered to her dorm after alterations were made. Nodding to his question she led the way out of the store. What would they shop for now, casual clothes? That she didn’t need but he could be different. They would also have the opportunity to go to dance clubs, if he were interested. That was all up to him though. “Did you need anything else?” They’d been out for several hours now. The sun was more vivid as it hung at a slight angle, indicating that it was perhaps one in the afternoon. Looking around the street she opted to continue on. Further down would be other stores as well as small cafes and diners. After last night she wasn’t so keen on being in a diner, but couldn’t help but feel a bit hungry. No, maybe they would eat later, for now they were shopping. She held one bag in both hands that were pulled in front of her body. The small bag hung in front of her hips and didn’t hinder her walking. If she were on the same side of him as his sword was she would have reached out to maybe hold his hand. It was an odd comfort she’d never understood. Yet she wanted that feeling, the ruff texture of his hand in hers. She averted her attention while she looked at stores and street signs. “I’m really excited for this weekend.” |

Elial really hadn't been thinking about shopping much more, although he only had some casual clothes. Maybe they could do some more of that soon, but not now. The young man was already getting tired! Training hadn't prepared him for this. Kysse must have really gained this stamina from shopping so much. Elial silently vowed to change his training pattern in order to prepare himself for things like this in the future. “I do need more clothing, but perhaps...food first? I am starving!" He peered up at the blazing sun, which cast shadows of tall light posts and buildings across the sidewalk. Signs swung slightly in the breeze. Searching for a sign to a restaurant, Elial frowned. At least Kysse knew the way. They were soon on a street that had many little cafes and diners. Great! "I am quite excited for this weekend as well! Though I am a bit nervous about meeting...Claude. Should I call him Claude?" Elial did not mean to be offensive at all, so he wanted to know what he should do. As he turned to look round the bend, his long dark hair took to a slight gust and pulled the long bangs away from his eyes. In the sunlight, those normally deep crimson pools appeared more like bright ruby orbs, dancing in a pile of jewels. |

His question of what to call Claude simply made her giggle. Of course he’d call him Claude, Kysse couldn’t really call him dad it would be too awkward for him. Maybe she should tell Elial about him. It hit her that he knew nothing about her family ties. Legally Claude adopted her, but people tended to get the wrong impression when they found out the two were related. At the same time it wasn’t much of a shock to people, based on the father and daughters appearance. “Let’s go over here.” Today she got to pick the restaurant. She chose a sit down authentic American food place. American food was easy to come by but she rarely had much of it. A burger and fries were totally foreign to her. Seconds after they walked in they were seated at a booth and handed menus. Kysse, being in her adventurous mood, slid toward the middle hoping he would do the same; it was a way to be closer to each other. As Kysse looked over the menu she picked out a half sandwich half soup deal but only asked for her water, not wanting to rush Elial. Their waiter was a friendly girl, about 18, who kept her eyes on Elial most of the time. While Kysse looked over her menu she tried paying no mind to the girl. How could she start an awkward conversation about family? He always eased into it so she’d have to try. “There is nothing else to call him; after all, Claude is his name.” With that she felt she couldn’t continue a story after all. The waitress returned to take their order, if they were ready. Kysse looked up at Elial but still held her menu out in front of herself. |

Elial thought that the American restaurant was a good choice. He had not had some in a long time and wondered what it would be like to have some. Actually, the only time he had American food was when he had gone to a restaurant in England with a friend...age fifteen. Of course, it wasn't too far in the past, but far enough to think back on it and wonder. He automatically slid into the middle of the booth and took the menu to look at immediately. Skimming it for the drink list first, he found that they had iced tea, and decided that that would be the best. He only chose the drinks first because, as it was traditional, the waitress would ask for that first, but also because they were generally very fast in asking for what they wanted to drink. Elial would be prepared! Gazing over the rest of the menu, he came to the conclusion shortly after that he would order chicken tenders and fries. He enjoyed chicken prepared in many different ways. Not noticing the young waitress, who stood oggling Elial unashamed, until he looked up, he smiled and said, "May I have an iced tea with lemon, please?" Hardly taking her eyes off of him, the teenager turned her head toward Kysse, exposing a long puffy brown ponytail and chandalier earrings to Elial. Such a profile view really emphasized her curved nose and mousy face. She had freckles and an apron on. "What would you like to drink?" she asked Kysse. After quickly taking their drink and food orders, she told them that she would be back shortly and disappeared. Elial turned to Kysse, his dark hair sliding over his shoulder as he did and his red eyes resting on her. "I suppose so. I am just so unaccustomed to calling the adult figures by their first names. It is always sir or ma'am or miss..." Chuckling, he added, "You know how I am addressed when I am in England and I have to attend those fancy parties?" He took on a deep formal announcer voice and proclaimed, "Sir Elial Ewan Fulle, youngest son of General Erwin Fulle." |

Kysse ordered a chili dog combo. And the waitress was gone, thank goodness. Something about women like that made Kysse want to punch them. Then she thought about how she gawked at Elial and felt ashamed. Shame didn’t show on her face as Elial explained himself. England was a place Kysse had never been, so she didn’t understand the rituals. “Fancy parties?” Her eyes lit up. “That’s a long title… but… what are the parties like?” At first she imagined something like a dance club, until she realized that England was more proper than some places. Her thoughts reflected that of a story book she had read as a girl. She had come across the book in the school library, it wasn’t an amazing place, but there were several books intact. Several of the last pages of the book were torn out or colored on. She, to this day, wonders about how the story ended. “I’ve never been to anything fancy, except with Claude.” This statement made her look up to him more. Claude was a kind man, it was hard for her to see his personality when he treated her so much different than other people. It had been a long time since she had seen him and now her anticipation grew. Even now she felt more light hearted and even a bit jittery as she pictured her, Elial, and Claude together on a beach with white sand and palm tree shading the crystalline water. She looked up as the waitress returned with their beverages. A slice of lemon was held up by ice cubes in each drink. Kysse noted the waitresses’ eyes clinging to Elial. At first Kysse wanted to do something that would prove they were together, but they weren’t. Still she could grab his hand but then she felt it would make her look jealous. No man would make her look jealous. So instead she lifted her glass so that the straw could slip between her lips, her lips that put the waitresses’ to shame. Silently she drank her water until the waitress would leave. |

Elial knew that those parties would interest her. Afterall, Kysse seemed to like everything that was colourful, intricate, and bright. He did not want to be judgmental, but was merely making an observation. Assessing her choice of clothing was almost enough to really give him an idea of her personality. "Well...the parties are usually held on someone's estate, so very large gardens with beautiful lighting outside and inside. Doors and windows are open and everyone is dressed in either a themed outfit or very formal attire. There is a lot of drinking and dancing...Really I come from a very traditional part of England where people have these parties often just for fun or for meeting new people. I can tell you, more often than not, my father decides that it is a right time for me to choose a wife. I try to convince him otherwise the only way how, which is to insist that it would be rather tacky and embarrassing for him were I to find a wife at someone else's party in which the host's son or daughter were in the same pursuit. He listens to me not." Stirring the iced tea for a bit before taking a drink himself, Elial enjoyed the sensation of it going down his throat. He looked at Kysse and could see the excitement in her beautiful blue eyes. That was a look he adored. "Aside from the tedious formalities, it can be fun. You should come with me next time and perhaps you will make a friend there." He thought about how many friends he had met at parties like that. Actually...not many. Although he was good looking in his own way, many families were turned off by his physical appearance. Afterall, who would want their daughter marrying such a strange dark-haired, red-eyed man! He must be a beast to exhibit such features! Instead, Elial spent most of the time just watching over his little sister as she frolicked among the groups of people. What a gem she was. "My sister would love to meet you. She enjoys such parties and has since the day she was born probably!" Elial joked, shaking his head at the thought and taking another drink. |

Once again her imagination ran wild. She felt like a child with her excitement. Even her actions screamed, “Take me to one!” as she leaned toward him. Both hands rested on the booth and she propped herself up looking at him with a wide smile and her sparkling eyes. It made her even happier that he paid little attention to the waitress and told her so much. Until their food came she was still in a trance imagining what she would look like at one of his parties. She even wondered what his sister was like. Did she have the amazing red eyes that Elial had? Kysse would envy that, his eyes were such a unique color, and it was simply outstanding. She wondered if she would fit in there, after all she was European. But she held herself differently than others. The thoughts seemingly disappeared as she leaned back to her position and her food was placed in front of her. His was also placed in front of him and Kysse just stared at them both. The reason she picked this place was because it was a rare thing for her. Looking at his she didn’t quite get what they were. Fried chicken, why were they called tenders? She looked at her own steaming food and didn’t touch it. No good came from eating extremely hot food. Her chili dog came with a side of fries and a couple onion rings. Fried food wasn’t her favorite but everything looked good. “I’ve never been to that sort of thing. And no one has ever tried marrying me off or marrying me for that matter. Claude would always have friends over but that’s the only party I’ve been to.” As far as she knew, guys just didn’t seem to like her. None of the parties really included Kysse either, unless it was for her birthday, the others were mainly for drinking which Kysse also didn’t participate much in. |

Elial almost laughed at the look Kysse gave him. She was almost pleading but it was pretty cute. Of course he would take her if she wanted to, but he didn't want to force her into such a possibly awkward social event, especially since most of them were ridden with suitors of all sorts. That would just be a lot of hawking from mothers and annoying questions from fathers. As soon as the food arrived, however, Elial's eyes were trained on it. He was absolutely starving and knew that he probably should've ordered more to satiate his appetite. Without waiting for it to cool, he prepared his meal by taking the side of barbeque sauce and setting it closer to him. Taking some catsup, he squirted a small puddle onto the plate next to his fries, but not so that they were touching. He did not like it when the food touched the sauce. Thankfully, they did not this time. Taking a chicken tender, the anxious young man dipped it into the barbeque sauce and took a large bite. The chicken was indeed, tender, and juicy. More than he expected! He was quite pleased. Swallowing, he looked at Kysse to see if she had eaten anything yet and asked, "How is your food? The onion rings looks pretty good...I have had those once before. I quite enjoy onions actually." Elial looked down at his again and was pleased that he had ordered the larger portion, even if there were only ten chicken tenders. The fries would help fill him. He decided to eat some of those. Afterward, he washed the fatty food with some iced tea before beginning the process again. "You are pretty lucky to not have to marry so young, though I suppose if you would like such a thing, I should not express such a feeling. I just mean to say that it is unfortunate so many of my friends have been in arranged marriages already. I am just lucky to have escaped them so far! The only reason probably being that I have...well...this appearance..." |

After the food had cooled she began eating it. It was very good, but very messy. As she ate she hunched forward a little to avoid dripping the sauce. It was good and she admitted that to him with a silent nod and smile. She continued eating while he spoke. If anything were to confuse her at this point in time it would be what he just said. What on earth did he mean by that? There was absolutely nothing wrong with the way he looked. After swallowing half her food and some water she looked at him with a perplexed expression. “What do you mean? Appearance? What’s wrong with it?” He did mean his physical appearance didn’t he? All day he had been getting wide eyed glances, so she didn’t quite understand. At that same moment chili fell off her plate and splattered on her bare legs. Luckily it didn’t get her shorts, they were her favorite ones, and they had at least some time to finish most of their food. That didn’t help the pain though. Without much hesitation she jumped a bit and fumbled for a napkin. The skin was still hot after the chili was removed. Just then she realized that her water spilled when she bumped the table. After a shocked expression her head hung and she sighed. She was a walking disaster, no a stumbling one considering she was so bad at walking. “I’m sorry.” The waitress was back with a bunch of napkins, of course she had seen the whole thing happen, she was still watching Elial. Kysse set the napkin in her hand down and pushed herself out of the booth so she could help with the mess she had made. |

Elial was just about to answer when he watched the chilli fall, but couldn't do anything to help it. As she bent over to clean it, he asked, "Are you alright? Did it burn you?" But before she could even answer that the table shifted and her water fell! Oh Kysse. He didn't mind her clumsiness at all, and of course, found it actually rather cute, but knew that she was very upset for having caused such a stir and also for being that way. Elial could understand why. She must've gotten ridiculed much. He supposed no one enjoyed being messy or hurting themselves by running into things. As the waitress came over to help, he bent down and cleaned up next to the two of them with the napkins. "Oh it's no problem!" the waitress cried cheerily, taking quick glances at Elial and picking up the spilt ice. She had it clean in no time, but not before bumping into the young Englishman. He steadied the woman and asked her if she was alright. Of course, the waitress blushed profusely and nodded before scurrying off. Elial, being completely oblivious to the ruckus he himself had caused, turned back to Kysse and asked her again, "Are you okay? You did not get wet or burnt at all, did you?" His eyes found hers and he offered a warm smile. Each of them really seemed to get into their own fixes. He settled back down in his chair and gestured for her to join again. "Do not be sorry. It happens! I have had my strokes of clumsiness as well..." Elial hoped that he didn't offend her, but maybe a story would make her feel better? He laughed, "Once at a party I managed to knock over a very expensive China vase in the middle of a dinner! Needless to say, I was not going to be marrying that particular host's daughter." Sighing, he fingered his food a little bit before the smile disappeared a little though. "Well...the thing is, I do not appear very....well, English. All my brothers and sisters have fair blonde hair and blue or green eyes. Hazel...natural. I am just...an oddity. Even coming from an outstanding family, I do not merit enough on my own to rectify the way I look in the eyes of society. It is fine though. I do not mind. It keeps things simple!" |

For the moment everything was fast movements and cleaning up. You could get lost in the confusion. Kysse’s head was hung and blushing as she cleaned. With the help of them both it didn’t take long but afterward Kysse swore the woman ran into Elial on purpose. His story made her feel better though, she could easily relate, minus the whole marriage thing. At his sudden sadness she crawled closer to him and put both her hands on the side of his face. Her shoulders rose and she smiled hoping it wasn’t inappropriate. She wasn’t so sure of herself or her words but she held him there as she spoke. It was now that she radiated with kindness. “For what it’s worth, I’m very glad you aren’t married. And you may not be what they want but you don’t need to be.” Both her hands fell into her lap from his face. After winking she returned to her plate but it was soaked and she had no use for eating, plus she was full. The truth was, not only did he not have to be what they wanted, but he was turning out to be someone she wanted. |
